Justin is with Ben at the prison. Justin tells him that he'll be asking the judge to postpone his date pending further review. Ben says he can say the word execution and he appreciates whatever time Justin can buy him, hoping it can give Ciara the chance to get a confession out of Victor and Xander. Justin then realizes that Ciara hasn't told Ben so he informs him that Victor and Xander convinced Ciara that they did not set him up. Ben brings up that Ciara overheard them saying they sent an innocent man to prison. Ben asks if that's not him, then who the hell is it.

Sonny and Evan walk through the town square together. Sonny suggests they get hot cocoa. Evan mentions that David is on a play date for a few more hours and Rafe is out of town on a job so he invites Sonny back to his place. Sonny asks if he's sure since they were together last night so he doesn't want him to get sick of him. Evan calls that impossible as they kiss until Ciara walks up and questions what the hell Sonny is doing.

Brady walks Kristen home to her room at the Salem Inn and says it's about he and Nicole but Kristen doesn't want to hear about their relationship. Brady then informs her that there is no relationship with Nicole.

Eric questions Nicole telling him that she's not with Brady despite what Kristen said. Nicole tells him that Kristen was wrong and that they were just pretending to be involved. Eric argues that it's always complicated with her and he can't handle this with what Mickie is going through. Nicole asks him to let her explain for a few minutes.

Sarah tells Xander that today she realized she doesn't want to make the same mistake because she doesn't love Eric anymore. Sarah surprises Xander by telling him that she is in love with him. Xander questions what she said. Sarah repeats that she's in love with him and says she meant every word.

Kristen asks if Brady broke up with Nicole or she broke up with him. Brady admits they were never together and it was just for show. Brady says Kristen assumed they were together and wouldn't believe they were just friends while Nicole wanted to hurt her so she made up the lie that they were dating.

Eric tells Nicole to explain why she and Brady were pretending to be a couple. Nicole tells him that she wanted to protect Brady from Kristen because she's hurt him enough already so she wanted Kristen to know that she couldn't have him. Eric questions why she would let him believe she and Brady were together.

Justin tells Ben that Ciara said she misunderstood what she heard and she's now positive that Victor and Xander had nothing to do with Jordan's murder. Ben says he did not expect this and he needs to talk to her. Justin tells him he's heading to the court and will send a message when he hears anything. Ben thanks him for everything. Justin assures that he's going to get him out of here. Justin goes to leave but runs in to Will. Justin mentions expecting the signed divorce papers from his attorney by now. Will says he wanted him to take another look at them. Justin asks if there's an issue. Will responds that he just wants to make sure he's not making a mistake.

Sonny asks Ciara what's wrong. Ciara says she's just not used to seeing him kiss someone else. Sonny introduces Evan to Ciara. Ciara says Rafe told her how great he is with David and apologizes for freaking out. Sonny tells her that he and Will are getting a divorce. Ciara questions him not hearing from Will. Sonny asks why she thinks he would hear from Will. Ciara just thought he'd put up more of a fight. Sonny points out that the divorce was Will's idea and decision. Ciara gets a call from Ben and steps away to answer. Ben tells her that Justin just told him that she doesn't think Victor and Xander set her up. Ben questions what's going on. Ciara says she's on her way and she will explain everything as she hangs up.

Sarah jokes about Xander being speechless for the first time. Xander says he just didn't expect her to ever say those words to him. Xander says he admitted he loved her months ago and she didn't say it back. Sarah says it took her by surprise and she hadn't thought of him like that while she was still wrapping her head around it when Eric interrupted them. Xander notes that Eric had just found out Mickie was his child and everything changed.

Nicole argues that Eric never gave her a chance to explain but she and Brady are just friends. Nicole adds that coming clean was Brady's idea so he's probably having this same conversation with Kristen now. Nicole asks if Eric believes her which he admits that he does so she thanks him. Nicole apologizes for hurting him as she was just so happy that they were reconnecting a little. Nicole declares that she will leave him to his day now that he knows the truth but he stops her.

Brady tells Kristen that Nicole told him about the lie afterwards and she regretted it and wanted to tell the truth but he told her not to. Brady talks about Kristen coming back to Salem being vengeful, angry, and mean, so he wanted her to understand that they were not going to have a relationship. Brady says he thought lying to her was the best way to keep her at arms length. Kristen can't believe they were playing this stupid game and laughing behind her back. Kristen calls Brady a heartless jerk and slaps him.

Sonny apologizes to Evan as it will take his family a while to get used to the idea of them being together. Justin then appears and questions them being together. Evan decides he'll let them speak in private and walks away. Justin tells Sonny that he couldn't help but overhear. Sonny calls it a new development but he and Evan are officially dating. Justin thinks it's a little fast but Sonny figured since he and Will did file the divorce papers. Justin reveals to Sonny that the papers have not been filed as he just ran in to Will at the prison and for some reason, he's dragging his feet.

Ciara goes to see Ben at the prison and apologizes for not telling him what's been happening but she wanted to avoid disappointing him for as long as possible. Ben tells her that she could never disappoint him but he doesn't understand since everything pointed to Victor and Xander but now she thinks they are innocent. Ciara informs him that they explained everything and it totally made sense but she can't tell him what it was. Ben insists that he needs to know what they said and asks who the innocent man they sent to prison was if it's not him. Ciara says it's not her place to say but Will enters and tells her it's okay to tell Ben.

Brady questions Kristen acting indignant after everything she's done. Kristen argues that he played with her emotions. Brady brings up that she let him believe she was Nicole so he would fall back in love with her. Kristen says she apologized for that. Kristen admits he might have a point but questions why he decided to tell her the truth. Brady brings up visiting their daughter's grave site and seeing how deep her pain was. Brady says he saw how vulnerable she was and he's sorry for not being more understanding. Brady feels he owed her that after everything they went through. Kristen asks if this isn't another game or a lie. Brady confirms he's not in love with Nicole. Kristen asks if it might be possible that they might have a future.

Eric tells Nicole that he has a confession of his own and informs her that she was the first person he wanted to call when they got back to town. Eric says he knew he had to let go of her but when Kristen told him that Nicole and Brady were together, he felt he had been stabbed in the heart. Eric adds that he wanted to pay her back so he may have done something that he shouldn't have done. Eric reveals that he kissed Sarah.

Sarah knows it's been hard for Xander not to be a part of Mickie's life. Sarah admits she and Eric got close in Boston because they were just comfortable with each other again and she thinks he kissed her to see if there was something still there between them but she couldn't go through with it because all she could think about was Xander. Sarah talks about Xander being by her side since the beginning and making her feel safe. Sarah calls him her rock and says she wouldn't be able to hold her baby in her arms right now if not for him. Sarah calls him a great guy but Xander responds that he's not.

Nicole questions Eric kissing Sarah to get back at her. Eric says that was part of it and that they were both seeking comfort. Nicole asked if it went further than a kiss. Eric tells her that they stopped it and he's glad because it was for all the wrong reasons. Eric calls Nicole his anchor, his life, and his home. Eric can't imagine spending any part of it without her in it.

Kristen decides it was a stupid question because any hope they could've had disappeared last Mother's Day when Haley died and she can't expect Brady to get past that. Brady understands it was an accident and she was grieving. Kristen figures people would just think of it as an excuse but she does appreciate that Brady stood by her. Kristen feels he looked at her differently though. Brady says he was grieving and insists he did not blame her. Kristen brings up being a high-risk pregnancy and suggests she could've taken better care of herself. Brady calls it an act of God and no one's fault that their daughter was taken from them.

Sarah questions why Xander would say he's not a great guy. Xander feels he't not a hero but Sarah says he is her hero. Sarah jokes with him and says she's not perfect either. Xander says she's perfect to him. Sarah talks about how he makes her feel like she could be the person he sees. Xander jokes about her accepting his flaws but still being in to him. Sarah tells Xander that she loves him and they kiss. Sarah decides she's going to check on Mickie and invites Xander to come with her. Xander asks about Eric. Sarah says she told Eric that Xander isn't moving out and that they need him right now. Xander is surprised Eric accepted that and leaves the room with Sarah.

Nicole questions Eric wanting to work things out which he confirms. Nicole brings up that she kept Mickie from him for so long. Eric understands that she was afraid of losing him but he wishes they could've trusted the love they have. Nicole tells him how much she regrets it and understands if it takes him months to forgive her as she feels so guilty for helping keep Mickie away from him. Eric stops her and tells her that he forgives her as he then kisses her.

Evan and Sonny go to Evan's place where Evan asks Sonny why he thinks Will hasn't filed the divorce papers and if he's changed his mind. Sonny says that Will was very clear about wanting a divorce when he met with him and they even signed the papers together. Evan wonders what's going on. Sonny is sure it's nothing.

Ciara explains to Ben that Maggie caused the wreck so Xander and Victor covered it up and let Will take the fall which is the secret they have been keeping. Ben tells Will that it's great news for him to know that he's not responsible for Adrienne's death. Will comments that he might be able to sleep again. Ben questions why Will hasn't told the authorities. Ciara points out that he's protecting Maggie. Will asks if he knows what it would do to Maggie to find out that she drove drunk and killed Adrienne. Will doesn't want to put Maggie through that. Ben questions if Will is just going to spend his life behind bars even though he's innocent. Will says he hasn't made up his mind yet. Ciara tells Will to hurry up because she saw Sonny and Evan kissing today so Sonny is starting to move on. Ben tells Will that he can have his life back and his marriage back so he has to tell the truth. Will asks what the truth will give Maggie other than spending the rest of her life in guilt, misery, and in prison. Will calls Maggie the best person he knows and asks how he could do that to her. Ben gets that he loves Maggie but asks what about his life. Ben points out that Arianna would be happier to have Will part of her world. Will decides Ben and Ciara have a lot to talk about so he's going to give them some privacy and he quickly exits the room. Ben calls this crazy. Ciara cries that she's so sorry for letting him down and spending so much time chasing the wrong lead while now they are back to square one and they have no idea who killed Jordan. Ben hugs Ciara as she cries. Ben assures that she has not let him down as she did everything she could and went against her own family to try to get the truth. Ben says he loves her even more. Ciara cries that she wants to get him out so she's never giving up and she's been re-reading every article about Jordan's death and asked her mom to show her Ben's file because there has to be something they missed to lead them to Jordan's real killer. Ciara hopes they have enough time.

Evan checks the mail and sees that Rafe got a letter from child welfare so he hopes there's not a problem. Sonny asks why there would be since Rafe has had guardianship of David for almost two years so he's sure everything is fine. Sonny leaves the room to get a glass of water so Evan then opens the letter from child welfare. Evan reads that the letter is alerting Rafe to an issue concerning Evan's background check.

Sarah and Xander return to her room after checking on Mickie. Sarah says she can't lose her. Xander promises they will find a bone marrow match. Sarah thanks him for being there, not giving up on her, and loving her. Xander says he always will as they kiss.

Kristen tells Brady that it's still so hard for her to accept that their baby Rachel is gone and she still doesn't understand since the doctor said she was fine when she was born. Kristen wishes she could freeze that moment with the three of them together. Brady understands but says they can't live in the past and have to find a way to move forward. Kristen doesn't know how to do that. Brady suggests they find a way to figure it out together. Kristen asks if he means that. Brady then kisses Kristen. Kristen asks if this is real. Brady admits that he was so unhappy while he was pushing her away and it only made him want her more. Brady thinks they deserve another chance but admits he's scared of them hurting each other again as he doesn't know if they could survive that again. Brady declares he's willing to take the risk if she is. Kristen says all she ever wanted is another chance with him. Brady says they have a deal then. Brady says he wants to stay but he has to go so he will call her later. Brady kisses Kristen and then exits, leaving Kristen with a big smile.

Nicole hopes Eric knows how sorry she is. Eric assures that he does and he wants to apologize as well for treating her the way he has. Eric says he lost her so many times. Eric tells her that she and Holly bring so much joy to his life. Eric calls Nicole the love of his life and there's not a moment he wants to spend without her in it. Eric tells her to never forget that as he kisses her.

Xander and Sarah kiss in bed and begin to undress after saying I love you to each other.

Will sits in his cell with a photo of Sonny. Will imagines telling Sonny that he's innocent and them reuniting.

Evan declares that Rafe can't see this and puts the letter in his pocket. Sonny comes back so Evan suggests they head to his room and kisses him as they then go to Evan's bedroom.

Ben returns to Ciara at the prison and informs her that he is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection in three weeks. Ciara cries and hugs him.
