Sarah hugs Eric and says she's been unfair to him but she's here if he needs anything. Eric says that's all in the past and kisses Sarah. Sarah says that was not exactly what she meant so Eric asks what she did mean.

Xander asks Brady to call Theresa as soon as possible to have Tate tested. Brady argues that it's a long shot and questions why he's pushing so hard to have his son tested. Kristen then walks in and questions what he'd be tested for.

Abigail looks around the gatehouse and finds the new portrait of Stefano in the closet, with Steve's face, that Gina painted which leaves Abigail and Chad confused. Chad points out that there's no eye patch and they note how similar it looks to Stefano's portrait. They realize that he's wearing Stefano's ring in the portrait.

Marlena calls it impossible for John to be gone and cries about never seeing him again. "Steve" tells her that he's sorry and that John was his best friend. "Steve" claims that John's final request was for him to take care of her which he promised to do. "Steve" hugs Marlena as she breaks down crying. Marlena then stops and tells him that he won't.

"Hope" tells John that Stefano insisted on taking Marlena with him and he said she would either go with him or she would die. "Hope" claims that Stefano shot Marlena and she is dead. John drops to his knees in disbelief and cries as "Hope" hugs him, saying she's so sorry. John then stops and says he doesn't believe her.

At the police station, Roman can't get "Steve" or John on the phone and questions the cell service. Rafe mentions just talking to Shawn but not finding anything yet. They talk about how Princess Gina could be planning to get Marlena out of the way. Rafe says if something does happen to Marlena, Hope would never forgive herself. Roman wonders where Gina would take Marlena. Rafe says he has an idea.

"Hope" insists to John that she's sorry as Marlena was one of her best friends and she would never want them to suffer. John explains that he doesn't believe that Marlena is dead.

Marlena tells "Steve" that she doesn't want his comfort and she can't stand to look at him so she tells him to get out of her sight. "Steve" understands it's her grief talking and says she shouldn't be alone. Marlena says he's the last person she wants to be around as she blames him for John's death.

Abigail and Chad wonder who would paint this portrait of "Steve", why, and how it got in the gatehouse. They talk about not knowing who else would've been in there. Chad suggests asking Ciara. Chad mentions Rafe finding Stefano's original portrait. Abigail talks about how Steve would hate this since Stefano was his enemy. Chad talks about the detail of the painting being as if Steve sat down for the portrait. Abigail questions why he would do that and admits it looks fairly recent. Chad questions what in the world could explain this. Chad brings up Stefano reaching out to him but never letting him see his face. They talk about Kristen coming back with Nicole's face. Chad says they can't rule it out since Dr. Rolf has the technology and would do anything to please Stefano. Chad asks what if Stefano changed his face and now looks like Steve.

"Steve" tells Marlena that he did everything he could to save John. Marlena blames him for dragging John off to Europe when she begged him not to go. Marlena says John thought "Steve" would protect him. Marlena wishes she would've been with him. "Steve" insists that he's sorry. Marlena tells him he should be because he underestimated Stefano by being arrogant and careless which cost John his life. Marlena remarks that she doesn't know who "Steve" is or what happened to him.

"Hope" tells John that she was there and there's no possibility that Marlena is alive. John argues that Stefano just made her see what he wanted her to see. "Hope" doesn't think Stefano menat to hurt Marlena but she pushed him too far this time. John goes to try and work on unlocking the door.

Brady questions what Kristen is doing here while Nicole adds that just because they work together, doesn't mean she can barge in to her apartment. Kristen says the door was open and she needed a deal signed so Nicole signs it and orders her to get out. Kristen says she's sorry but stops to ask if Tate is sick. Brady says he's fine so Nicole tells Kristen that she can leave. Xander stops Kristen and says he's glad she's there.

Sarah blames herself for giving Eric the wrong idea while Eric says he shouldn't have assumed. Sarah feels she's been unfair by leaning on Eric while Eric feels he's been unfair to her but says it's natural while being there for their daughter. Sarah says Mickie getting better is all that matters as Eric hugs her. Eric talks about being strong for them. Sarah talks about keeping him from his daughter for six months. Eric talks about Nicole being selfish by not telling him. Eric says Sarah's been trying to do everything while pregnant. Sarah says that's nothing compared to now because she's so afraid. Eric admits he is too and they end up kissing again.

Kristen questions Xander being glad she's there. Xander informs her that Mackenzie needs a bone marrow transplant while Sarah and Eric were not a match. Kristen realizes that's why they were talking about testing Tate. Xander explains that he's on a mission to get anyone tested, even Kristen. Kristen agrees to get tested right away. Nicole questions Kristen doing anything for anyone in her life. Kristen says that she lost a child so she would never want Eric and Sarah to go through the pain that she and Brady went through .Xander thanks Kristen.

"Hope" asks John to let her try unlocking the door with the key she used to untie him but the key breaks in the door.

Rafe tells Roman how he found the tiara at Stefano's hideout which later had "Hope's" fingerprints on it and now they know it was Gina's. Rafe suggests that is where Gina would take Marlena so they rush out of the station.

"Steve" tells Marlena that he feels her pain too but he did everything he could. Marlena says she knows it's not his fault and she shouldn't be lashing out at him but she had to lash out at somebody. Marlena adds that the person she should be blaming is Stefano.

Abigail questions Chad thinking that Stefano disguised himself as Steve. Chad knows it sounds crazy. Abigail asks why he would do that. Chad calls it a tactical advantage, the same reason thar Kristen pretended to be Nicole to gain everyone's trust. Abigail argues that Steve is young and healthy so she questions there being any way he could be Stefano DiMera. Abigail recalls going to see Kristen because she was sure she was meeting Stefano but her uncle Steve was there and Kristen said that Stefano had just left. Chad wonders if Stefano is running around wearing Steve Johnson's face, but questions why he would tell Kristen and not him. Abigail figures that Stefano knew Chad would tell her and she would tell her family, thus ruining the whole thing. They can't believe they are having this conversation. Chad says it pisses him off because he knew Kristen was being cagey about Stefano and now he needs to do whatever he can to get it out of here.

Kristen decides to let Brady and Nicole continue working from home. Brady stops her and says he's glad she came because he and Nicole have something to tell her. Kristen says business can wait because baby Mackenzie is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant so she's going to the hospital to get tested. Kristen figures the odds of being a match are slim but it's the least they all could do as she exits the apartment.

Xander goes home to the Kiriakis Mansion and calls Victor to tell him that Brady and Kristen both agreed to be tested. Xander adds that Brady did get suspicious when he asked about Tate being tested. Xander says they will have to wait and see but Tate is probably their best candidate since he is Mackenzie's half brother. Xander doesn't want to get too ahead of himself but if they have to reveal the truth, they will cross that bridge when they come to it. Xander then hangs up and heads upstairs to check on Sarah. Xander goes to Sarah's room, where he finds Sarah and Eric putting their clothes back on..

Roman finishes a call with an ISA contact, who confirms that a woman matching Hope's description boarded a flight last night so she must be trying to get to John. Rafe wonders if Marlena is alone. Roman notes that he said she was traveling alone but there's record of Marlena's passport being scanned at the airport in Prague. Rafe points out that Marlena left all her personal things in her purse at the house. Rafe decides they are wasting their time here so they got some traveling to do. Roman guesses "Hope" and Marlena could be halfway around the world.

Marlena tells "Steve" that no matter what, she's going to track down Stefano and kill him with her bare hands. Marlena feels they are unsafe here and they have to get out before Gina comes back. Marlena tries to leave the hideout but it's locked, questioning how it could be since "Steve" came in. "Steve" guesses Gina doubled back to secure it from the outside. Marlena worries that they are trapped and wants to call her children. "Steve" encourages that she's not alone as he's right here with her. Marlena thanks him but says that something isn't adding up here.

John complains that he has to get back to Salem. "Hope" insists that he needs to rest and to let her help him.

Nicole and Brady go to the hospital to get tested. Brady mentions not having to be tested since he was already on the bone marrow donor list from when Chloe had leukemia. Brady points out that Mackenzie's match could be anywhere in the country off the national bone marrow registry. Nicole is surprised Kristen was so eager to come get tested and encourages Brady not to get sucked back in by her. Brady assures that ship has sailed. Nicole says she had no problem pretending they were together after what Kristen did to her but now Eric is upset with her again. Brady understands she wants to pull the plug but Nicole is afraid Kristen will come after him again. Brady says she will find out the truth eventually and suggests she should tell Eric because he needs the support. Nicole just hopes he accepts it from her.

Eric exits while Sarah tries to tell Xander that this isn't what it looked like. Xander tells her to save it and be with Eric like she wanted all along anyways. Sarah says she'd been so confused for so long about what she wants and then the baby came then she got sick and then she and Eric found out they weren't a match for bone marrow so they couldn't help but cling to each other. Xander doesn't want to hear any more. Sarah tells him that she and Eric almost slept together but they didn't.

Kristen approaches Brady at the hospital and talks about being here reminding her of the night they lost their baby. Brady says it's rough for him too and thanks her for being tested. Kristen asks what Brady wanted to tell her earlier. Brady offers to walk her out and they will talk then so they exit the hospital.

Abigail tells Chad that he can't just go confront Kristen because she'll just lie to him. Chad says he won't confront her. Chad brings up that Stefano wanted her shares and came to him so he will play them off each other. Abigail says no because they are dangerous and unpredictable. Chad knows it will be dangerous with Dr. Rolf involved. Chad feels he has no choice because they have to figure out what's going on.

Roman and Rafe walk outside. Roman informs him that his contact just secured them two tickets to Prague. Roman assures they will find them. Rafe wishes he figured this out sooner. Roman says Rafe didn't know Hope during Princess Gina's last time while he is the one who should've known. Rafe decides to call Shawn to update him while Roman tries to call John.

"Steve" questions Marlena saying something isn't adding up. Marlena argues that if Gina just wanted John, she didn't have to track down "Steve" to help him find Stefano and says it doesn't make sense. "Steve" thinks he can answer that for her.

John tells "Hope" that people have told him he lost Marlena before and he said his final goodbyes so he knows she's still alive. John says that Stefano is a master manipulator so until he sees her body with his own eyes, he will never believe that she is gone.

"Steve" tells Marlena that Gina had months to try to win John's affections and didn't resort to drastic measures until bringing him in so he's sure she's working with Stefano since she used him to lure John into Stefano's trap. "Steve" says speculating about Gina's motives won't change that John is dead. Marlena asks what if he's not dead. "Steve" says he was there. Marlena brings up their honeymoon in Hawaii where John disappeared and everyone thought he drowned but Gina kidnapped him. Marlena says if Gina and Stefano are involved, she refuses to believe her husband is gone.

Chad asks Abigail if they really think her uncle Steve could be his father in disguise. Abigail knows it sounds insane but Stefano DiMera is capable of anything.

Brady walks Kristen home to her room at the Salem Inn. Kristen tells him to talk. Brady says it's about he and Nicole.

Nicole goes to the Brady Pub where she finds Eric. Eric says he was just on his way out. Nicole tells him that Xander told them that he and Sarah weren't a match for Mackenzie and she's so sorry. Nicole adds that she and Brady just went to the hospital to get tested. Eric thanks her and goes to leave but Nicole stops him and informs him that she and Brady are not together and never were.

Xander tells Sarah that she doesn't owe him an explanation but Sarah feels she does because she saw how hurt he was when he walked in. Sarah says she fell in bed with Xander once when she was hurting and she had feelings for Eric but today she realized she doesn't want to make the same mistake because she doesn't love Eric anymore. Sarah surprises Xander by telling him that she is in love with him.
