In Victor's hospital room, he tells Xander to calm down. Xander complains that he can't when Mickie could die without a bone marrow transplant while they know the doctors ares testing the wrong parents.

Sarah and Eric wait with Mickie in Kayla's office at the hospital. Eric says they just need to pray for another miracle. Sarah says one of them being a match is the only way to save her.

Stefano is on the phone, saying that he had John at his feet with the gun in his hand and he had to stop himself from getting rid of John once and for all but the end game of being reunited with Marlena is more important. Stefano asks if John made it through the night.

Princess Gina goes to where John is tied up and unconscious. She is glad he's alive and declares they shall finally be together again.

Stefano declares that finally, Marlena will be his, as he hangs up the phone. Stefano then removes his ring and puts his eye patch back on to pretend to be Steve as he enters their hideout, where Marlena is tied to Gina's throne.

Chad and Abigail go to the gatehouse where Chad left his phone last night. Chad checks his phone and says it's his father.

Marlena tells "Steve" that Stefano led him and John on a wild goose chase to get them away while "Hope" was supposed to be protecting her until she got a voicemail from Rafe, saying that "Hope" was Princess Gina.

Gina pretends to be Hope and acts like she was locked up too as John wakes up. John asks what she's doing here and how she found him. "Hope" says that doesn't matter now and asks what happened. John tells her that "Steve" got a lead on Stefano but they only found Dr. Rolf. "Hope" asks about where Steve is. John tells her it's too late as "Steve" is dead.

"Steve" tells Marlena that all that matters now is that she's safe.

Brady goes to see Nicole at her and Eric's apartment. Nicole wanted to speak to him in private about Kristen telling Eric that they were back together. Nicole knows they agreed on that plan to keep Kristen away from him but things are different now that Eric is back in Boston and they sort of had a moment. Brady says it sounds like progress. Nicole says Eric agreed to let her watch Mackenzie until Kristen announced they were together which upset Eric. Nicole worries that Eric hates her again.

Maggie joins Eric and Sarah in Kayla's office at the hospital. They reveal to Maggie that neither of them are a match for Mickie's bone marrow transplant. Maggie hugs Sarah and says she's so sorry. Sarah knew the odds weren't great but they were really hoping. Eric assures they aren't giving up and will reach out to as many relatives as they can. Sarah mentions Summer too but Maggie says she hasn't seen or heard from her since Sarah went into labor last year so she doesn't even know if she's still alive. Maggie promises they won't stop until they find someone to save Mickie's life.

Xander tells Victor that he placed Brady and Kristen's daughter into Sarah's arms, so that she wouldn't know her child had died and wouldn't suffer. Victor says he did just as much to protect Maggie from ever finding out that she killed her grandchild. Victor tells Xander to take it to the grave but Xander says he won't keep a secret if it jeopardizes Mickie's life as he loves her like his own so they can't lose her after everything Sarah went to have her. Victor reassures him. Maggie enters the room and announces that neither Eric nor Sarah are a match.

Chad reads Abigail his message from Stefano, saying he's sorry he left in the middle of their plan but he had to leave the country as something important came up. Abigail questions what could be more important than family. Chad reads that Stefano said everything is for their family and putting Chad back in charge of DiMera because no one deserves it more. Chad reads that Stefano acknowledged his issues with Abigail but praised Chad for finding their way back together and said he'd never stop fighting for those he loves.

"Steve" assures Marlena that she will be okay. Marlena asks how he knew where she was and if he saw Gina. "Steve" responds that Gina is not his concern right now, Marlena is. Marlena asks about John and if Gina is trying to find him.

"Hope" asks John if he's sure "Steve" is dead. John assures that Dr. Rolf shot him three times point blank. John says that "Steve" saved his life by stepping between he and Rolf, wishing he could've done something. John argues that they have to get to Stefano. "Hope" promises they will do it together after they get out of this place.

Abigail admits Stefano's message sounded pretty sincere. Abigail suggests maybe they shouldn't move out of the DiMera Mansion so he doesn't lose his foothold at DiMera if Stefano is working so hard to get Gabi out. Chad insists there is no way in Hell they are living under the roof with Gabi but they aren't giving up anything. Chad suggests if they live out here, maybe Gabi will let her guard down and they can take advantage. Abigail admits she's getting excited about renovating the gatehouse.

"Steve" unties Marlena and encourages her to stay calm while taking this one step at a time. Marlena complains about being here all night and trying not to worry about John. Marlena asks why "Steve" is back from Prague without John. She asks if they found Stefano. "Steve" responds that they did.

"Hope" encourages John about finding a way out. John feels he'd be gone if she didn't show up. John worries that they have to get to Stefano before he gets to Marlena. John asks what "Hope" is even doing here when her job was to protect Marlena and she gave her word that she would keep her safe. John questions why she isn't in Salem protecting his wife.

Victor comments that Sarah must be devastated. Maggie says they won't give up so everyone has to be tested. Maggie says she's going to have her blood tested. Maggie asks Xander even though he's not related to Mickie. Xander agrees immediately to go with her. Maggie says they have to believe there is a match out there somewhere and that they will find it. Maggie and Xander then exit the room.

Nicole tells Brady that she always screws things up since it was her idea to pretend to be a couple with Brady. Brady understands she was protecting him. Nicole admits she just wanted to punish Kristen but now Eric assumed she jumped into bed with Brady the moment he left town. Nicole worries that Eric hates her all over again. Brady assures that Eric will come around but Nicole doesn't think so because she's hurt him so many times. Nicole says she really tried to show Eric how sorry she was for keeping him from Mackenzie and she saw hope in his eyes that forgiveness could be possible but then it was all undone in a moment.

Eric goes to get the car while Sarah stays with Mickie at the hospital. Xander looks around the corner as Sarah promises Mickie that she will be just fine. Xander approaches and says he just heard the news and he's so sorry as he hugs her.

Nicole brings up Brady and Kristen going to their baby's grave and she knows exactly what that feels like. Brady says they had to say goodbye and he thinks it was good for them to do that. Nicole understands how it could bring them closer and remind them of their love. Brady says they should be honest with Eric and tell him that they were doing it for Kristen's benefit since it doesn't seem right to play games, especially when his baby's life is at risk.

Sarah tells Xander that the blood test results were a huge surprise so now they are contacting all of their relatives so now they just hope for the best. Xander mentions that Maggie is getting blood drawn as they speak and he's next. Sarah talks about being pregnant and dreaming of her baby. Sarah mentions wearing Xander's mom's bracelet that he gave her and said was to ward off sickness. Xander declares he will move heaven and earth to help her find a match. Sarah gets a text from Eric that he's bringing the car around so she has to go. Sarah thanks Xander as she takes Mickie and exits the hospital.

"Hope" gets John untied while John demands an answer as to how she could leave Marlena alone and unprotected when her job was to keep her safe and protected. "Hope" claims she had to come find him to tell him something about Marlena.

Marlena asks if they took Stefano to the authorities or if John has him. She demands an answer. "Steve" says she's been through a terrible ordeal and wants to take care of her. Marlena insists she'll be fine when she knows John is alright and asks why he won't talk to her. "Steve" then says he will tell her everything.

Eric and Sarah bring Mickie home to the Kiriakis Mansion. Sarah stops to inform him that Xander is still living in the mansion. Eric complains about him not sticking to his word but Sarah reveals that she asked him to stay because he loves Mickie so much and she could use all the support. Eric agrees that nothing is more important than saving their daughter's life. Sarah tells him how much that means to her as they go to put Mickie down to sleep.

Xander returns to Victor's hospital room and complains that he won't be a match while Brady, Kristen, or Tate are Mickie's best hope for a match, pointing out that Tate is Mickie's only half-sibling. Victor says he can't go around making demands as it will make people suspicious. Xander argues that he won't let Mackenzie die. Victor says he won't let him threaten Maggie's peace of mind. Xander wants to protect Maggie too but he will do whatever it takes to save Mickie's life.

Abigail talks to Chad about how she plans to renovate the gatehouse and says they will need to hire a contractor as soon as possible so she wants to start now.

"Steve" informs Marlena that they tracked Stefano down in Prague and tried to take him in to custody but he wasn't alone and had help. Marlena asks if it was Princess Gina. "Steve" tells her that it was Dr. Rolf and he had a gun.

"Hope" tells John that she never left Marlena's side and protected her as she promised but then Stefano's goons showed up, grabbed her gun, and held her down while Stefano showed up and told Marlena that he was going to make her his. "Hope" cries that she's sorry while John questions what happened. John asks if Stefano took Marlena and where they went.

Sarah and Eric talk about their busy day. Sarah thanks him again for being so understanding about Xander. Sarah gets it if Eric wants to reach out to Nicole for support. Eric mentions running in to Nicole earlier and she offered to babysit while they waited for the results. Sarah calls Nicole an awesome mom and says she'd be fine with it if he ever wants Nicole to watch Mickie. Sarah adds that it couldn't hurt for Eric to spend some time with Nicole too. Eric admits he thought about it but he changed his mind because five minutes after they went to Boston, Nicole jumped back in to bed with Brady.

Nicole tells Brady that Eric is devastated so maybe now isn't the best time to tell him about their charade. Brady thinks Eric deserves to know the truth. Xander shows up so they question what the hell he's doing here. Xander informs them that Eric and Sarah were not matches for Mackenzie. Nicole asks if there is anything they can do. Xander says he promised to get everyone in the family tested. Brady mentions that he and Eric aren't blood brothers but he and Nicole both agree to be tested. Xander says he's trying to toss as wide a net as possible so he wants Tate to be tested too. Brady guesses that's because Theresa is Eric's cousin so he and Mickie are definitely related.

John asks where Stefano took Marlena. John declares they have to get out of here and find her as he tries to open the door but he can't.

Marlena argues that Dr. Rolf is no match for "Steve" and John while Stefano is an old man so they could take him. "Steve" claims he jumped Rolf. Marlena asks if John was hurt and wants to be taken to him. "Steve" informs her that he can't which she questions. "Steve" tells Marlena that Stefano killed John.

Maggie returns to Victor's hospital room and talks about the last time she donated blood, she had been clean and sober for over 35 years while this time she had to admit she's had more than one slip in the last couple of years. Maggie mentions not even remembering last Mother's Day. Victor encourages that she's still the most beautiful person inside and out that he has ever known.

Brady tells Xander that Tate and Mickie are second cousins so they are not even that closely related and Tate is very young for a procedure like this. Xander argues that he either wants to help or he doesn't. Xander asks him to call Theresa as soon as possible to have Tate tested. Brady argues that it's a long shot and questions why he's pushing so hard to have his son tested.

Sarah tells Eric that she is surprised that Nicole would get back with Brady that quickly. Eric says it's no big deal and says he just feels sensitive these days. Sarah hugs him and says she's been unfair to him but she's here if he needs anything. Eric says that's all in the past and kisses Sarah.

Abigail looks around the gatehouse and finds the new portrait of Stefano in the closet, with Steve's face, that Gina painted which leaves Abigail and Chad confused.

Marlena calls it impossible for John to be gone and cries about never seeing him again. "Steve" tells her that he's sorry and that John was his best friend. "Steve" claims that John's final request was for him to take care of her which he promised to do. "Steve" hugs Marlena as she breaks down crying.

"Hope" tells John that they can't find Marlena so he asks what the hell happened. She tells him that Stefano insisted on taking Marlena with him and he said she would either go with him or she would die. "Hope" claims that Stefano shot Marlena and she is dead. John drops to his knees in disbelief and cries as "Hope" hugs him, saying she's so sorry.
