At the Brady Pub, Roman asks Hattie to check on a table. Hattie points out that it's Kate's table but Roman says that Kate and Chad are talking about something important. Chad talks to Kate at the bar, telling her that he knows Kristen is hiding something about Stefano but he doesn't know what or why. Kate suggests he keep his distance from everything that has to do with his father. Chad asks why she says that. Kate claims she's just looking out for him. Chad asks if Stefano has contacted her. Kate claims he hasn't and that she would tell him if he did. Kate says she just wants what is best for him. Chad thanks Kate and then exits the Pub. Hattie comes over so Kate yells at her not to sneak up on her. Hattie notes Kate being nervous and asks what's going on with her.

Rafe and Shawn go to Hope's office but she's no longer there. They see a cigarette in the ash tray. Rafe comments that it looks like she left in a hurry. Shawn declares that they need to find Hope before Gina does something to wreck her life for good. Rafe states that it's not just Hope they need to worry about since Princess Gina was always trying to get with John, so what if she targets Marlena while he is gone.

Marlena goes home and tells "Hope" that she got her message so she asks if something's happened. "Hope" says no but it's about to. Marlena asks why she has her gun. "Hope" says she didn't mean to alarm her and puts it away. "Hope" tells her that she just got a tip that Stefano is purposely leading John and "Steve" on a wild goose chase and that he's sending people for her now that he got them out of town. "Hope" insists she intends to protect her but it's not safe for her to stay here so she's going to take her to a more secure location where she can hide out until the threat is neutralized. Marlena knows things have been tense between them. "Hope" says that doesn't matter as she just wants to keep her safe.

John returns to the hotel room in Prague goes through "Steve's" bag where he finds Stefano's ring. "Steve" then enters the room so John questions what he's doing with Stefano's ring. "Steve" responds by questioning why John is going through his stuff.

Shawn tells Rafe that they need to warn Marlena immediately. Rafe tells him that he will call Marlena and then he will call Roman to meet them because he's been worried about Hope and knows them better than anyone so maybe he can help.

"Hope" tells Marlena that they need to leave immediately. Marlena gets a call from Rafe but "Hope" tells her not to answer that and that she can't talk to Rafe because he may be compromised by Stefano since he can get to anyone at any time. Marlena questions her thinking that Stefano has Rafe working for him. "Hope" tells her that Rafe has been undermining her authority for weeks and claims she just found out that there were leads on Dr. Rolf and Stefano but Rafe withheld the information so she wouldn't be surprised if he's somehow involved in Stefano's plan to kidnap her. Marlena can't believe Rafe working for Stefano. "Hope" insists they need to go right now.

Hattie questions what's going on with Kate, remarking that she looks like she lost her last friend. Kate thinks back to Gina's warnings and says that's exactly how she feels. Hattie suggests they have a chat about it but Kate says she can't talk about this. Hattie asks if it's because of "Steve" tracking down Stefano. Roman comes over and asks if they heard from Steve and John or if they found Stefano. Kate says they are just hoping they do. Roman informs them that he just got a call from Shawn and Rafe who need his help on something. Kate questions Shawn being in town. Roman says he doesn't know why but asks them to hold things down while he leaves. Kate reminds Hattie that she told her not to talk about Steve around Roman. Hattie argues that Roman knows everything so he doesn't care that "Steve" has been hiding out in her room. Kate warns her to keep it zipped.

Chad goes home and kisses Abigail. Chad tells her that everyone is hiding something from him and explains that Kristen refuses to sell him her shares and won't give any more details about her meeting with Stefano while Kate suggests he has nothing to do with Stefano so it makes him think she's hiding something too. Abigail thinks Kate is just trying to protect him. Chad questions why Stefano won't meet him face to face and what the big secret is.

John tells "Steve" that after the way he treated Anna and Tony, he was worried about him since he's not acting like himself. "Steve" complains about Anna while John thinks Tony could be useful to them. "Steve" argues that he should've told him that he contacted them instead of blindsiding him. "Steve" says they are supposed to be on the same team and asks if they have a problem here. John hopes not and asks again what he's doing with Stefano's ring. "Steve" thinks back to Kate returning it to him and declares that after all these years, it's hard to put anything over John so he guesses he has to tell him the truth.

Abigail is sorry that Chad is dealing with all this with his family while working so hard to get DiMera back from Gabi. Chad feels there is something that he's missing. Abigail says she was going to surprise him with reservations for dinner at the Bistro but she will cancel. Chad asks if she made reservations because she didn't want to eat with Eli and Gabi which Abigail admits may have been part of it. Chad talks about needing Kristen's shares to kick Gabi out of the company and the house. Abigail feels they have no choice. Chad tells her there may be another option so they exit the mansion.

"Steve" claims that he grabbed the ring from Kate before he left since he knows how important the ring is to Stefano so he thought it might help them lure him to them. John questions "Steve" having the ring and not telling him about it. "Steve" claims he didn't think it was important. John argues that he's all over the place. "Steve" asks if he's accusing him of something.

"Hope" tells Marlena that she will take her now but Marlena wants to check in with John and "Steve". "Hope" orders her to stop questioning her and do as she says. Marlena asks what if Stefano's thugs are waiting for them outside. Marlena suggests "Hope" pull her car in to the garage so she's not exposed. "Hope" agrees to do that while Marlena decides to pack a few things. "Hope" tells her not to waste time and exits. Marlena looks at her phone and sees a voicemail from Rafe.

Kate complains to Hattie about a table that she had to wait on. Hattie insists that Kate can trust her and she'd like to help her but she has to have some idea of what set her off.

John brings up he and Steve having a very long history. John says he was grateful when he showed up to help Stefano and Dr. Rolf but he was surprised that "Hope" didn't give him a heads up. "Steve" remarks that he was disappointed that John didn't reach out for his help in the first place. John assumed he was busy. "Steve" says there is nothing he wouldn't do for Marlena because she is more special to him than he knows. "Steve" tells him to stop doubting him as they should be focused on finding Stefano.

Roman joins Rafe and Shawn in the interrogation room at the police station, where they inform him of their theory. Roman questions how Hope can be Princess Gina, if Gina is dead. Shawn explains that they think Hope has been brainwashed by Stefano again so that whoever is in Hope's body believes she is Princess Gina. Rafe and Shawn want Roman's help to come up with a plan to save Hope from herself and protect Marlena in the process. Rafe mentions leaving a message for Marlena. Roman brings up Princess Gina being obsessed with John. Rafe tells him that John is in Prague looking for Stefano. Rafe adds that Marlena hasn't gotten back to him yet so he's starting to worry. Roman decides he'll track her down by checking the hospital and then her place.

Marlena listens to her voicemail from Rafe, saying he's with Shawn and they've reached a very disturbing conclusion that someone has turned Hope in to Princess Gina, who was obsessed with John which means she's a threat to her. Rafe told Marlena to keep her distance and get back to him. Marlena hangs up in disbelief that Hope is Princess Gina. Gina comes back in and questions what's taking her so long. Marlena says she was just thinking that Hope is not herself. She asks what she means. Marlena says for her to tell her. Gina guesses that Marlena thinks she is Princess Gina. She pulls her gun on Marlena and asks if she's right. Gina is surprised she didn't figure it out sooner. Marlena admits she should have but says that Princess Gina is dead so she guesses she's been brainwashed and is still Hope. Gina explains that Hope is long gone thanks to Dr. Rolf and she's in complete control of her body and thoughts and has been for quite some time. Gina says she can't have Marlena telling everyone who she is as she holds her gun on Marlena.

Kate sits with Hattie and tells her that she's in a mess that she doesn't know how to get out of. Hattie asks if she's in any danger. Kate says she's not worried about herself but the people she cares about that might get hurt. Hattie decides they will face it together as a team.

John guesses he's just taking his frustrations out on "Steve" because they aren't making any head way here. "Steve" informs him that one of his contacts got a new lead on Stefano so this could be their chance. "Steve" asks John to give him Stefano's ring back, so he does. They then exit the hotel room.

Chad brings Abigail to the gatehouse of the DiMera Mansion, which has been vacant for over a year since Ben was arrested. Chad suggests they move in to the gatehouse so they wouldn't technically be under the same roof as Gabi. Abigail questions moving their family of four here and argues that they need space. Chad says they can make space. Abigail says she is desperate to get away from Gabi but they don't travel light. Chad suggests they can add on to the gatehouse as he can live anywhere as long as he has her and the kids.

Marlena calls Rafe back so he puts her on speaker phone and asks if she's okay. Marlena speaks while Gina holds her gun on her. Marlena says she's okay and claims that John already alerted her that Hope is Gina so he's arranging a private jet for her to go to Prague. Roman questions if that's a good idea. Marlena claims that John said it's the safest place for her so she's on her way there. Rafe guesses the further away from "Hope" the better. Marlena thanks him and says she's glad the truth is finally coming out. Roman is glad she will be safe. Marlena says they need to find the imposter pretending to be Hope as soon as they can so Gina grabs the phone and hangs up. Gina says she was doing so well but that was a mistake.

Rafe tells Roman that he's glad John told Marlena but he thought he would've told them too. Shawn noted that Marlena sounded stressed while Roman points out that she ended the call abruptly. Roman decides he should escort Marlena to Prague to make sure she gets there safe. Rafe agrees that Marlena's safety is the priority while they will find "Hope" and figure out what to do next.

"Steve" and John go to an abandoned building. Dr. Rolf arrives with a gun and warns John that he is intruding. John brings up Rolf pushing Jennifer off the balcony. "Steve" adds that he helped Stefano get away as they question what he's doing here. "Steve" says that Dr. Rolf is not a cold blooded killer. Dr. Rolf responds that he as miscalculated and shoots "Steve". John screams but Rolf warns him to stay away from him or he'll kill him too.

Abigail decides that Chad is right but worries that renovation causes stress in a marriage. Chad brings up that they have taken on multiple personalities, murder trials, and everything that has happened with JJ, Jennifer, and Gabi. Chad tells Abigail that she can make all the decisions about renovating. Abigail calls him the most incredible man and says she'll be happy to live anywhere as long as they are together as they kiss.

Kate tells Hattie that she had no idea what she was thinking when she got involved and wasn't considering the impact her choice would have on the people she loves and now there's a possibility that John and Marlena's life together could be destroyed. Hattie wants to help but says she has to know what's going on. Kate then agrees to tell her and informs her that "Steve" isn't Steve so Hattie asks who he is. Kate then reveals that he's Stefano DiMera.

John questions Dr. Rolf, accusing him of killing his best friend. John goes after Rolf but "Steve" gets back up and knocks out John from behind.

Rafe asks Shawn if they still pretend Gina is Hope. Shawn says he can call her and say there's an emergency with Ciara. Rafe gets a call from Roman, who informs him that there is no private flight to Prague so they have to get to Marlena's right away.

Marlena tells Gina that they will find her. Gina says she's been getting away with pretending to be Hope for over a year. Gina reveals that she arranged Marlena's job opportunity to get her out of town so she could have John all to herself. Gina argues that if Marlena didn't come back early, John would've ended up in her bed. Marlena argues that John would never betray her and doesn't want her. Gina insists that he was more tempted than she realizes. Marlena says John loves her and Gina couldn't possibly understand that. Gina says she knew to get John, there was only one option left; Marlena needs to die.

Abigail tells Chad that she was skeptical at first but where ever he is, is home to her. Abigail adds that she's sorry about the mess with his father. Chad hopes to hear from him but if not, he has her and the kids and that's all he really needs as they kiss.

Hattie questions "Steve" being Stefano and how she knows. Hattie realizes that's why he wasn't wearing the eye patch. Kate then informs her that "Hope" isn't Hope as Stefano, with help from Dr. Rolf, turned her in to Princess Gina. Hattie questions how that works. Kate says she can't get in to the history of that but Gina loves John and hates Marlena. Hattie asks if Gina is dangerous which Kate confirms. Hattie questions Kate knowing about this for awhile. Kate explains that Stefano promised they would rule DiMera together once he got rid of Gabi and she wanted that but now because of that, Marlena is in danger.

Rafe and Shawn go to Marlena and bust in with their guns raised but the place is now empty so they decide to search the place.

Stefano tells Dr. Rolf he did excellent work and was very convincing. Dr. Rolf says he knew there were blanks in the gun but he was still nervous. Stefano says he came through as always. Dr. Rolf still doesn't understand why he wanted John to believe he was Steve. Stefano explains that John will be more vulnerable to Princess Gina if he thinks his best friend was murdered. Stefano adds that by the time John wakes up, "Hope" will be here to tell him the bad news that Marlena has also died. Dr. Rolf questions why he doesn't just finish off John now if he wants a clear path to Marlena. Stefano looks at his gun and admits that's an excellent point.

Rafe says there's no sign of Marlena. Shawn finds her purse with her wallet and cell phone inside. They conclude that she told them about going to Prague because she didn't have a choice and Gina may already have her.

Princess Gina brings Marlena to her and Stefano's hideout and ties her to her throne. Marlena looks over at Stefano's old portrait on the wall and wonders where she is. Gina welcomes Marlena to her new home and says she spared her life but she guarantees Marlena won't like her reasons.
