Eli has a dream about being in bed with Lani, then he wakes up in bed with Gabi, who asks him what's wrong.

JJ goes home to his apartment with breakfast for Lani. Lani talks about going over JJ's photo of Gabi's app on her phone. JJ wishes he could've gotten into it if it wasn't double password protected. JJ mentions seeing that Gabi would get alerts any time there is activity on Julie's pacemaker. Lani brings up Gabi giving a demonstration to prove she could control Julie's pacemaker. JJ thinks they need to bring what they have to the police but Lani says she can't let him do that.

Princess Gina goes to her office as police commissioner and looks through her desk for her cigarettes but can't find them so she wonders who took her cigarettes.

Shawn joins Rafe in the interrogation room at the police station where Rafe thanks him for coming. Shawn says he hopped on the first plane when Rafe said he needed his help and sounded concerned so Shawn asks what's going on with his mom.

Marlena is at the Brady Pub, on the phone with John. She assures him that she feels safe and asks how it's going there. John says they haven't had any luck finding Stefano yet. "Steve" joins John in the room. "Steve" pours a drink while John continues talking to Marlena and assures her that Stefano will never get his hands on her. Stefano as "Steve" hears this and smashes his glass in his hand.

JJ questions Lani not wanting him to call the cops. Lani insists that if Gabi finds out, she'll push a button and kill Julie before she could be arrested. Lani says it's just nice to know that he has her back. JJ assures Lani that he didn't tell anyone what Gabi did to her but when he was at the DiMera Mansion, he found out that Gabi and Eli are getting married which shocks Lani.

Gabi asks Eli what he was dreaming about. Eli claims it was about their wedding. Eli says he wakes up next to the woman he loves every day as they kiss.

John talks on the phone to Marlena, telling her that he and "Steve" are working overtime but he misses her every day. Marlena says she misses and loves him too. "Steve" picks up a piece of the broken glass behind John's back.

JJ apologizes to Lani for not telling her right away that Gabi and Eli are getting married as he knew it would upset her. Lani admits she's furious, thinking it's strange that Eli didn't say anything the other night when he stopped by. JJ explains that Eli said it was their conversation that pushed him to propose. Lani questions JJ thus helping Eli make this choice. JJ then reveals that Eli asked him to be his best man and he said yes.

Eli tells Gabi that he wants to set a date for the wedding. Gabi suggests a summer wedding. Eli asks why wait so long and suggests Valentine's Day. Gabi brings up her memory of Valentine's Day being when she had to tie up Leo Stark so that Sonny and Will could spend the day together. Eli guesses they can pick another day but Gabi decides the sooner, the better so Valentine's Day will be great and it will erase her horrible memories so they can make new Valentine's Day memories. Gabi says she loves the idea and she loves him as they kiss.

John tells Marlena that he will call her later. Marlena tells him to be careful. John hangs up and is startled to see "Steve" behind him with the shard of broken glass. "Steve" says he was getting a drink and the glass slipped. John offers to get him a band aid but "Steve" says it's alright. "Steve" tells John that he will meet him down at the cafe so John exits the room. Stefano removes his eyepatch and tosses it in frustration, declaring he's done with this as it's time to claim his queen.

Kate joins Marlena at the Brady Pub and asks her about John being out of town. Marlena informs her that John is with "Steve" in Europe, looking for Stefano.

Princess Gina looks over some of her drawings and decides she must do something to take the edge off without her cigarettes so she starts to color her drawing.

Rafe shows Shawn the file he has put together on "Hope's" recent behavior. Shawn agrees that it's definitely unlike her. Rafe talks about how she mishandled evidence and mentions catching her smoking which shocks Shawn. Shawn stops and says he thinks he knows what's going on here.

Gabi tells Eli that she's so proud of him and can't wait to be his wife. Eli suggests they remove all distractions and stay in bed a little longer. Eli then takes Gabi's phone which upsets her. Eli says they made a promise to have no phones in bed, then he looks at her phone and questions what this is about Julie.

Lani demands JJ explain why he agreed to be Eli's best man. JJ explains that Eli almost caught him going through Gabi's phone and then he put him on the spot for an answer. Lani questions him but JJ feels he had no choice since Eli might have gotten suspicious if he said no. Lani decides maybe they can use this to their advantage since it gives JJ an excuse to be around them which will help them expose Gabi for the homicidal bitch she is.

Eli tells Gabi that he can't believe this. Gabi says it's not what he thinks. Eli says what is on the screen proves that she's guilty of texting Julie and questions if they are making wedding plans without him. Gabi claims they have gotten so close so she wants Julie to be involved in the wedding, saying it would mean a lot for her to have Julie's support. Eli says it means a lot for her to include Julie. Gabi tells him they need to get busy because Valentine's Day is two weeks away. Eli can't wait to put a ring on her finger.

Stefano says to himself that he can't wait to stop pretending to be Steve and to put his ring back on. Stefano then gets a call from Princess Gina, who complains that she's bored and needs an update. Stefano informs her that he almost just killed John but he restrained himself. Gina warns that it wasn't part of the plan. Stefano assures her that he's fine and waiting for him at the cafe. Gina wants to know that he's clear on their objectives. Stefano says they will make Marlena believe that John is dead and make John believe that Marlena is dead then they will both get what they want. Stefano gives his word that he will not harm John as long as she protects Marlena. Gina assures that Marlena remains under police protection but she's getting sick and tired of having her around. Stefano says he has to go meet John and make his next move. Stefano tells her not to do anything until she hears from him again. Gina agrees but warns him not to keep her waiting because her patience is running thin.

Marlena tells Kate that John and "Steve" went to Prague to try and find Stefano. Kate doesn't understand why John would leave her here alone when Stefano could be on the loose. Marlena thanks her for her concern but says she has "Hope" looking out for her which surprises Kate. Marlena says "Hope" is the police commissioner so nothing can go wrong with that.

Rafe asks what Shawn thinks is going on with Hope. "Hope" then storms in to question Rafe if he went through her desk because something is missing so she asks if he took it. Rafe pulls out the cigarettes and asks if that's what she is talking about. Rafe knows he doesn't have to remind her that it's illegal to smoke in the building. "Hope" warns that going through his superior's desk without permission is a start to giving her grounds to fire him. Rafe says he was just worried about her health. "Hope" warns him about pushing her and then goes to leave, without realizing Shawn was in the room. Shawn stops her and questions what is wrong with her.

"Steve" goes to meet John in the cafe and tells him he's got a new lead. John says he does too as he directs "Steve" to Tony and Anna being in the cafe. They greet him as Steve. "Steve" asks what they are doing here. Tony responds that he knows all about his plan.

Marlena asks Kate why she's surprised that "Hope" is protecting her. Kate doesn't see how she can give her the attention with her duties as police commissioner and then brings up the issues they had. Marlena says that "Hope" apologized and they cleared the air a bit while John thinks she should give her a second chance. Marlena says she's so confident in her relationship with John that no woman will ever come between them. Kate is afraid she knows something about "Hope" that Marlena doesn't.

"Hope" hugs Shawn and says she didn't see him there, calling it a wonderful surprise. Rafe comments that it surprised him how "Hope" walked in to the same room as her son and didn't even notice him. Shawn says that he and Rafe were just catching up. "Hope" says that Rafe has work to do and sends him out of the room. "Hope" asks Shawn what else Rafe told him about her.

Lani tells JJ that they have to find a way to open Gabi's app. JJ feels they need someone more tech savvy than them. Lani refuses to drag anyone else in to this. JJ brings up Theo, being a computer genius and someone they can trust to keep quiet. Lani decides that's as far as it goes since if Gabi finds out, it could cost Julie her life. Gabi and Eli then show up outside the door. Gabi knocks on the door, saying she and Eli need to talk to their best man.

Marlena asks what Kate wants to tell her about "Hope". Kate thinks back to Stefano warning her that she would have to tell Marlena that she knew about he and Gina for months and then her life would be over. Kate then tells Marlena that she probably shouldn't be talking about this but Rafe told her that he's worried about "Hope" and that she hasn't been acting herself in quite awhile.

Shawn tells "Hope" that Rafe didn't say anything else to him about her at all. "Hope" argues that they both know that's not true. "Hope" assumes Rafe showed him the file he started on her which Shawn confirms. "Hope" can't believe Rafe got him to come all the way from Hong Kong. Shawn says he came because he cares about her. Shawn states that he heard Rafe's side of the story so now he wants hers. Shawn asks what is going on here. "Hope" says it's nothing but Rafe having a hard time letting go of their marriage and complains about his ego. Shawn offers to take her to lunch so they can talk further. "Hope" says she can't because she has more things to take care of. "Hope" guesses Rafe didn't stop bashing her long enough to tell him that Stefano is back.

John explains that he called Tony and told him they were here looking for Stefano. Anna says they are supposed to be in a cooking class but Tony said they had to take a road trip. Tony said he wanted to see them in person. John hopes he can help them out. "Steve" questions what they can possibly know. Tony thinks he has information that will be of great interest.

Lani hides while JJ answers the door and tells Gabi and Eli that it's not a good time but Gabi says it can't wait as they come in anyways. Gabi and Eli announce they have set their wedding date for Valentine's Day. JJ notes that is soon while Eli asks why wait when he finally found the person to spend the rest of his life with, which annoys Lani to overhear. Gabi asks JJ if he's hiding something from them. JJ reminds her that he did say it was a bad time. Gabi is glad if he's moving on because she knows he was heartbroken over losing Haley. Gabi points out that she and Eli are proof that you can find true love again. Eli suggests he invite his mystery woman to be his plus one at their wedding. JJ doesn't think she's ready for that but Gabi jokes that he can talk her in to it. Eli says they will talk wedding details soon as he and Gabi then exit. Lani comes back out to JJ and calls Gabi a lying slut.

Marlena asks Kate if there is more that she wants to tell her and asks what's concerning Rafe about "Hope". Kate claims she has to take her break and run an errand. Kate tells Marlena that she is her dearest friend so she's glad that "Hope" is protecting her, but suggests Marlena watch her back with "Hope".

"Hope" informs Shawn that she promised to protect Marlena while John and "Steve" are tracking down Stefano in Europe. Shawn offers to take "Hope" to dinner tonight and says they can discuss her new vice of cigarettes. "Hope" claims she will kick the habit and just didn't want to give Rafe the satisfaction of admitting it. Shawn argues that he knows she wouldn't take up smoking unless she was extremely stressed out. Shawn acknowledges her divorce, Julie's health scare, and Stefano being back is a lot to take on. "Hope" tells him to text her and if she can get away, then they will eat at the Pub. Shawn agrees so she then exits.

"Steve" asks John if they can really trust anything Tony says because he doubts he would betray his old man. Tony asks if he would be here with two of Stefano's worst enemies if he had any loyalty left to his father. Tony says he pledged his allegiance to his father but decided he didn't want any part of him. John asks Tony to fill "Steve" in on his interaction with Stefano. Tony said it was months ago as Stefano wanted to procure his shares for business but refused to meet in person. Tony said he then decided to give his shares to Chad to help him in his fight against Gabi. John asks if Tony could contact Stefano again. Anna says he could but he won't because she doesn't want Tony to have anything to do with that horrible, hateful man again.

Eli and Gabi walk through the town square, talking about planning their wedding. Eli notes that they need a venue. Gabi jokes that they could elope but Eli wants to marry her in front of all his friends and family so they can see how happy she has made him. Eli then remarks that Julie would die if she didn't get to come to their wedding.

JJ tells Lani that they have to act fast since Gabi and Eli set a date.

Anna calls Stefano pure evil and she doesn't want him dragging Tony back into his web. Anna complains that Stefano sucks the life out of his children and doesn't have the guts to show his face. Anna adds that Stefano ripped her world apart, destroyed thousands of lives, and never paid for it. Anna talks about the last time she saw Stefano, locked up in a cage all alone. Anna calls Stefano a weak, pathetic coward. Stefano as "Steve" then snaps and yells at Anna to shut the hell up.

Marlena goes to the hospital and calls John, leaving a message that they need to talk about "Hope".

Princess Gina returns to her office and pulls out a cigarette. Kate walks in and demands to know what she and Stefano are up to now.

Rafe returns to Shawn in the interrogation room. Rafe asks what "Hope" said. Shawn responds that she thinks he's having trouble getting over their divorce and doesn't want to let her go. Rafe asks what Shawn thinks. Shawn reveals he doesn't think his mother is lying - because he doesn't think that woman is his mother
