Back in the current present-day at the prison, Ciara informed Will that Maggie was the one who drove Sarah and Adrienne off the road. Ciara declared that Will now knew the whole truth about what happened the night Adrienne died so everyone else needs to know it too. Will talks about thinking he had killed Sonny's mother for the past year and all the guilt and pain he's felt as he couldn't believe it.

Xander is unable to get through to Ciara on the phone. Victor tells him to settle down. Xander worries that Ciara could be out there telling the world. Victor says he made it clear to her that if she says one word to anyone, Maggie's life will be destroyed. Victor believes that Ciara will protect Maggie.

Maggie wishes she was there for Sarah when she gave birth instead of passed out drunk. Sarah tells her not to blame herself as no one knew Summer would show up with baggage and vodka. Sarah remarks that she's just glad that Maggie passed out at home and that no one got hurt..

At the Brady Pub, Eric talks to Nicole about Holly. Nicole comments that Holly is lucky to have a dad like him. Nicole mentions that she got him a sandwich. Eric says he's not hungry but Nicole tells him that he needs to keep up his strength for his daughter. Eric tells her that she doesn't have to take care of him. Nicole insists that while he's taking care of Sarah and Mackenzie, no one is taking care of him.

Brady tells Kristen that it's hard to process the emotions from the night their daughter was born. Kristen says it was painful to relive that day but she's glad they did. Brady admits he is too. Kristen knows they can never get their daughter back but she'll always be in their hearts and they will always be her parents together.

Will can't believe this is real. Ciara knows it's a lot to take in. Will says Adrienne and Sarah said a car swerved in to their lane and it all happened so fast. Ciara guesses he must have been right behind Maggie as they swerved to avoid her, not him. Will brings up his car being gray and Sarah said the car was black but he figured it was just dark. Ciara confirms to him that Maggie's car is black. Ciara questions Will never questioning that it was him. Will knew he shouldn't have been texting and says he had no reason to doubt that it was him. Ciara explains that Victor and Xander overheard him telling JJ what he thought happened at the hospital and they decided to cover for Maggie and let him take the fall. Will can't believe it. Ciara says she's so sorry for what Victor did to him but he's not going to get away with it.

Xander tells Victor that he never should've told Ciara the truth. Victor feels he couldn't have her thinking that he sent her boyfriend to death row. Xander notes that at least Victor didn't tell her that they swapped Sarah and Kristen's babies. Victor says he would never do that. Xander hopes they never hear from the OB/GYN that they paid off. Xander comments that Victor would do anything for Maggie. Victor worries that Maggie finding out that she was responsible for Adrienne's death and the death of her own granddaughter, it would destroy her. Xander adds that it would destroy Sarah so she can never find out that little Mackenzie is really Kristen's daughter. Victor states that they did what they had to in order to protect the women they love. Victor adds that it's too bad Brady had to suffer the consequences.

Brady and Kristen talk about plans to name their baby. Brady mentions the nurses asking him what name he wanted on the death certificate. Kristen says she's sorry as that must have been awful. Brady says it was but he was touched that Kristen chose the name Isabella, after Brady's mother, and he decided on Rachel Isabella. Kristen cries that she had so many hopes and dreams for her as Brady hugs her. Kristen apologizes for falling to pieces and says when she's around him, she can't help but think about what could have been because he's the only one who understands the loss she feels. Brady responds that he feels it too. Brady asks if Kristen has visited the grave. She says she hasn't because she didn't think she could handle it. Brady asks if she wants to go with him. Kristen is surprised he would do that for her. Brady says he would for her and their daughter.

Sonny goes to see Evan at Rafe's. Evan says it's good to see him as Rafe is away on a stakeout while David is asleep for the night. Evan is happy to hang out with Sonny if that's what he wants since he said he wasn't entirely comfortable spending time together while he's still married to Will. Sonny informs Evan that he and Will have signed the divorce papers. Evan tells him that he's sorry and asks if he's okay. Sonny admits that he's not at all.

Will questions Victor doing this to him. Ciara explains that he said he was trying to protect Maggie. Will is sure he sees it that way but he can't believe Maggie would go along with it. Ciara informs him that Maggie has no memory of that night as she had gotten so drunk. Will asks why Maggie went out in the first place. Ciara guesses she wanted to be at the hospital with Sarah. Ciara worries that Maggie will be so devastated when she finds out what happened. Will calls the guilt the worst feeling in the world and harder than prison ever could be. Ciara says at least now he knows he's innocent and when the truth comes out, he will be set free. Will responds that he doesn't know if the truth should come out.

Eric talks to Nicole about Mickie sleeping and not knowing she has cancer. Eric mentions wanting to be there with Sarah when the test results come in. Nicole offers to watch Mackenzie if Eric wants to go back to the hospital. Eric is unsure but NIcole insists that he can trust her. Eric doesn't want to ask her to do this for him. Nicole points out that she offered and wants to do everything she can to make up for all the months she kept him from his daughter. Eric notes that she didn't have much of a choice because of Xander and Sarah. Nicole feels she did but Eric decides to take her up on her offer, admitting it will be a big help to him.

Xander asks Victor if he ever wonders why it happened like it did, with Kristen delivering her baby the same night as Sarah, and Will thinking he caused the accident. Victor talks about making the deal to switch the babies and thinking that would be the end of Kristen and Brady but he didn't count on losing Brady too because Xander forced him to fire him, to make him the new CEO. Xander argues that he earned that promotion since he's the reason Maggie isn't in prison.

Sarah tells Maggie that it still breaks her heart when she thinks about Adrienne. Maggie comments that Sonny lost his mother and his husband. Maggie feels terrible for Will. Sarah says he should've known better than to text and drive but he has to live with that mistake for the rest of his life. Maggie can't imagine a worse feeling than to know you killed someone in your own family.. Sarah guesses Will's guilt must be worse than any prison sentence.

Ciara questions Will saying the truth shouldn't come out when Victor and Xander had no right to let him take the fall for something Maggie did. Ciara argues that Maggie would not want Will, Sonny, and Arianna to pay for her actions. Will asks if she needs to know but Ciara says everyone needs to know, including the authorities, so he can be set free. Ciara declares that Will has suffered long enough while he and Sonny deserve the right to be together again. Will apologizes as he knows how hard she was working to clear Ben and she wasted all that time pursuing Victor. Ciara says she won't give up on Ben but the one person she can clear right now is Will. Ciara adds that she would feel really good knowing Will could leave tomorrow and be with Sonny, asking if that's what he wants.

Sonny explains to Evan that Justin offered to bring the papers to Will but he wanted to do it himself, feeling he owed it to their marriage to end it in person. Sonny wanted to make sure a divorce is what they both really wanted. Evan can't imagine how hard that must have been. Sonny admits he still loves Will and part of him always will but he's been realizing lately, that as much as he hoped it would be possible, he could never get past what Will did to his mother..

Brady and Kristen walk through the town square with flowers, talking about plans for their daughter. Eric and Nicole walk by with Mickie. Brady didn't know Eric was back in town. Eric says he just got back this morning and they hug. Brady introduces Kristen to Mickie and they comment on her being beautiful.

Will tells Ciara that he never stopped loving Sonny but he was so sure their marriage was over after what he did to his mother. Ciara says he didn't kill Adrienne and when Sonny learns that, he will want him back. Will asks what about Evan. Ciara says he's nice enough but Will is the love of Sonny's life. Will calls Sonny the love of his life too but notes it's been a long time since they've been together and things can change. Will can't believe this as a few hours ago, they were signing divorce papers. Ciara tells him that everything has changed and he can reclaim his life. Will asks what will happen when Victor finds out what she did. Ciara is sure he will be furious and he may never forgive her but it's okay because she knows she's doing the right thing.

Victor argues that he was trying to save his wife and didn't need Xander's demands for a promotion while Xander argues that he risked everything so he deserved to be rewarded. Xander points out that he's done an excellent job as CEO and provided a good life for Sarah and her child. Victor notes that she's not his child, or Eric and Sarah's, she's Brady and Kristen's. Xander declares that it has to remain their secret as Sarah can never know the truth.

Sarah tells Maggie that she's done thinking about all the terrible things that happened last Mother's Day because it wasn't just a day of tragedy but a day of miracles too since somehow, she survived the accident and gave birth. Maggie is thankful Xander found her and helped her deliver Mickie. Sarah says she'll always be grateful to him for that. Maggie adds that Xander really loves her and asks how she feels about that. Sarah says she can't go there right now as she can only focus on getting her daughter the treatment she needs. Maggie encourages that she will. Sarah asks what if she and Eric aren't a match for bone marrow since she doesn't have siblings so they'd have to rely on luck or a stranger. Maggie says they'll just have to pray that someone in their family is a match.

Eric says they were hoping for better results with the chemo treatment but now their best hope is with a bone marrow transplant. Brady is sorry that he's going through this. Kristen adds that she will pray for them as she'd never want Eric and Sarah to go through what she and Brady went through. Nicole asks what is wrong with Kristen, insisting that Mackenzie is going to live and to suggest otherwise is cruel. Kristen says she was just trying to say something nice. Nicole argues that she failed. Eric says he understands what Kristen was trying to say. Nicole asks where Brady and Kristen are going. Kristen informs her that Brady was taking her to put flowers on their daughter's grave and asks if that's alright with her so she doesn't accuse her of stealing her man. Eric questions what she means by that. Kristen questions if Eric didn't know that Brady and Nicole are a couple now. Eric notes that Nicole never mentioned it. Nicole says she was going to. Eric asks if this happened over the holidays while he was away on treatment with his daughter. Nicole says she can explain but Eric says she doesn't have to as it's her business while his focus is on his daughter. Nicole says they wanna do everything they can to help and offers to take Mickie while he goes to the hospital. Eric decides it's better if Mickie stays with him because he's sure she and Brady have better things to do than watch his daughter. Eric then walks away with Mickie, frustrating Nicole. Nicole says she's sorry about that while Brady says they will talk about it later and walks off with Kristen.

Sarah thanks Maggie for staying with her when she's worried about Victor. Sarah talks about seeing sick patients every day and telling them to trust their doctor but it's hard when it's your own daughter. Sarah says she tries to stay strong for Mickie. Maggie encourages that she's the strongest person she knows. Sarah credits Maggie for raising her that way. Maggie says she's made mistakes in her life, including the night Sarah had her baby. Maggie talks about the woman Sarah has become and says she knows she's done something right. Maggie feels she let Sarah down that night but promises to never do so again as they hug.

Will tells Ciara that he just keeps thinking of the look on Maggie's face when she finds out that she's the one who killed Adrienne. Ciara doesn't want to see that either but tells him to imagine the joy Sonny and Arianna will feel when they learn he's coming home to them. Will is scared to think about it because what if it can't happen. Ciara tells him that she knows hope can be a scary thing. Ciara admits she can't help but wish Ben was also getting released. Will is sorry that all the work she put in to saving Ben could end up sending him home instead. Ciara says she and Ben can't be together yet but that doesn't have to be true for him and Sonny. Will never thought he'd say he and Sonny again. Ciara guesses Sonny is at home now praying for a miracle and that he would come home to rip up the divorce papers. Ciara encourages that he can do that right now. Ciara tells him to imagine how happy Sonny will be to have his husband again.

Sonny tells Evan that he's still worried about how to explain to Arianna that he and Will are ending their marriage. Sonny says Arianna had her mom in prison and now Will. Evan tells him to ask if there's anything he can do to help. Sonny notes that he's already done a lot. Sonny tells Evan that he helped him see that he has a future beyond Will as they then kiss.

Victor suggests they change the subject because Xander being CEO is the least of their problems. Xander argues that he gave Ciara a loaded gun and sent her on her way. Victor declares it's their job to make sure she doesn't fire that gun. Xander brings up that Ciara could be telling her mom, the police commissioner, that Maggie really caused the accident. Victor repeats that Ciara won't do that so they have to concentrate on protecting Maggie. Maggie then enters the room and asks what they are protecting her from. Victor claims he meant protecting her from herself because he's worried that she's going to exhaust herself by spending so much time at the hospital, looking after him and Sarah. Xander says that Victor just suggested he take her home. Maggie says this is where she belongs as Victor and Sarah need her. Xander asks about the baby. Maggie informs them that the chemo was not successful so Mickie needs a bone marrow transplant. Maggie says that Eric and Sarah have been tested so they are hoping that one of them will prove to be a match for their daughter..

Eric brings Mickie to Sarah at the hospital. Sarah tells him the test results haven't come in yet but Maggie keeps telling her that everything will be okay. Eric asks how Maggie is. Sarah mentions that she still feels guilty for being drunk the day Mickie was born and not being there. Eric points out that he wasn't there either which Sarah blames herself for. Sarah says she should've never kept the truth from him ever. Eric understands she had her reasons but Sarah calls it a mistake. Eric assures that he has forgiven her. Sarah asks about Nicole and guesses he still hasn't forgiven her. Eric says that doesn't matter as all that matters is that their daughter is alive.

Kristen and Brady visit the grave of what they think is their daughter. Kristen says she misses her every day and the life they were going to share together. Kristen declares that if she would've lived, everything would have been different. Brady hugs her as she cries, assuring that their baby knows they love her.

Will thanks Ciara for coming to him with the news. Ciara wants to do more and go tell Hope everything. Will asks her to let him think on it for a bit. Ciara insists that he deserves to be free. Will brings up that Victor and Xander want her to keep this secret so for now, they will let them think that she has. Ciara calls it incredibly unselfish of him to want to protect Maggie but she thinks if Maggie knew the truth, she'd be the first person to want Will back with Sonny. Ciara decides to let him sleep on it but asks him to promise not to let his lawyer file the divorce papers because the truth needs to come out and then he and Sonny can start spending the rest of their lives together. Ciara then exits the prison.

Evan stops kissing Sonny so he asks what's wrong. Evan brings up that Sonny just signed divorce papers and they aren't filed yet. Sonny assures that his marriage to Will is over and it ended the night he learned that he killed his mother. Sonny insists that it's really over and he wants to be with Evan so they kiss again and then head to the bedroom.
