Eli joins Lani at the police station as her shift is almost over so he hopes they could continue their date from the other night. They talk about hating how it was interrupted to arrest Haley Chen. Eli hopes Justin will be able to help her out. Lani doesn't think there is much he can do at this point as Haley is going to need a miracle to stay in the country.

Tripp tells Claire that he's sorry but they are going to have to put dinner on hold because he has something to tell her. Claire notes that it sounds serious. Tripp adds that she won't like it. Tripp suggests she sit down as Claire starts to freak out and tells him to say what he has to say. Tripp informs her that it's about he and Haley. Claire asks if something is going on between them. Tripp assures that he's with Claire and he has no feelings towards Haley at all but they are getting married.

Haley goes to JJ's apartment. JJ didn't think she would say yes but he's so glad she did. JJ adds that he'll take care of everything and they will get married as soon as possible. Haley then reveals she's not going to marry JJ, she's going to marry Tripp. JJ doesn't understand why she would choose to marry his cousin instead of him.

Gabi joins Brady in the living room of the Kiriakis Mansion and asks how their plan went. Brady informs her that they pulled it off perfectly so right now Leo and Stefan will be sitting around wondering what the hell just happened.

Leo goes to the DiMera Mansion and comments to Stefan about the windows being boarded up and not feeling safe. Leo remarks about Stefan sitting at the chess table alone. Leo talks about Stefan not being grateful to him until Stefan gets up and grabs him, questioning what he's trying to pull here.

John is with Marlena in her hospital room. Marlena talks about feeling better and jokes about adding poison to the list of things that can't kill her. John is happy and thankful she is recovering. Diana enters the room and says she got John's message so she asks if everything is okay. Diana comments on being glad to see Marlena doing better. John wanted to ask Diana some questions about Marlena's poisoning.

Leo doesn't know what Stefan is talking about since he did what he asked. Stefan reveals that the company Leo got intel on was bogus and fake, a decoy while Brady acquired a different company secretly so now the company DiMera wanted is no longer available. Leo argues that he just gave him the information that Brady gave him so it's not his fault. Stefan doesn't know if Leo is intentionally helping his new brother screw him over.

Brady tells Gabi that the best part is that Stefan thought he was so smart. They toast to Leo buying it. Gabi would've loved to have seen Stefan's face when he found out he had been outsmarted. Brady confirms he was able to make the deal DiMera wanted the whole time. Gabi congratulates him on a well deserved victory. Brady adds that he couldn't have done it without her.

Diana asks why John wants to talk to her about Marlena's poisoning. John brings up Diana being at the hospital at the time that Marlena's IV was injected with penicillin. Diana starts to argue but John shows Diana a photo of Kristen DiMera and asks if she saw her at the hospital. Diana realizes that John thinks Kristen poisoned Marlena. Marlena asks if she thinks it could've been somebody else.

Lani tells Eli that everyone has said that Haley is a great person and nurse. Eli recalls a friend going through the same situation and getting deported. Lani says that Haley is facing the same fate and talks about JJ caring about her so she would hate to see him miss out on a chance at happiness.

Haley informs JJ that she decided to marry Tripp because it's cleaner and safer. JJ realizes she still hasn't gotten over that he told Jack about her. Haley says that's part of it and that Jack would never stop going after them. JJ still cares about helping her. Haley appreciates it but argues that marrying Tripp will protect herself and JJ. JJ doesn't need her to protect him and he doesn't care what his dad does since he's not the man he knew and loved. Haley points out that they were getting closer but JJ says that was all a lie because Jack only cares about himself and his campaign which is why he's going to make sure he never becomes mayor. Haley argues that he doesn't want to do that because she doesn't want to be the reason he and his dad are on bad terms. JJ assures that Jack is the reason, not her, and he wants to help her. Haley tells him that she's sorry but it's just too complicated for them. JJ asks if there's more to it and guesses the real reason that she doesn't want to marry him is because she still hates him.

Claire questions Tripp saying he's marrying Haley. Tripp knows it sounds strange but Claire calls it insane and asks what the hell is going on. Tripp calls it a long story. Claire argues that she has time and questions him. Tripp goes over Haley being deported if she doesn't do something so JJ offered to marry her so she could stay in the country. Claire asks why Tripp is marrying her then. Tripp explains that things get tricky with JJ since his dad is running for mayor and he's the one who outed Haley so if they got married, they would be under a lot of scrutiny. Claire argues that Tripp is Jack's nephew. Tripp tells her that it's different because he has no relationship with Jack while Haley didn't want to make things worse between JJ and his father so he suggested she marry him instead and she agreed. Claire questions this being Tripp's idea.

Leo assures Stefan that he's not working with Brady. Leo guesses Brady was onto them and someone tipped him off. Stefan says he hired him for one job and he failed miserably. Leo argues that Brady tricked him but he can fix this and he'll still help him take down Titan. Stefan says it's too late but Leo says he can find something else on them. Stefan declares that he's done playing games and doesn't need him anymore. Leo pleads that it's the only thing he's good at and he can still make a difference. Stefan orders Leo out of the house. Leo says he'll get to the bottom of who betrayed him but Stefan says he's pretty sure he already knows.

Gabi tells Brady that it feels really great to stick it to Stefan and nail Leo at the same time. Brady reveals to Gabi that Leo is his brother. Gabi says she's sorry about that. Brady asks Gabi if she has big plans tonight. Gabi says she was just going home to watch TV. Brady suggests she do something fun to celebrate and have a good time. Gabi questions doing that by herself since everyone in town hates her after what she did to Abigail. Brady relates to when his family was against him for mistakes he made. Brady says they've both made mistakes but promises it will get better. Gabi doesn't know about that. Gabi then gets a text that Stefan wants to see her. Brady asks her about spying on Stefan for him. Gabi says she will do it with pleasure as she then exits.

Lani finishes her shift while Eli says he still has a couple hours to go. Eli offers her the key to his room so she could go wait for him to get off. Lani jokes that she might fall asleep but Eli says he'll give her a reason to stay up. Eli guarantees to make it worth her while. Lani asks if they ever check the security cameras here. Eli says not unless there is an incident so Lani points out that it's late and they are the only ones at the station. Eli notes that she could get him in a lot of trouble for that but Lani doesn't care as she kisses him.

Diana thought Shelly already identified Kristen DiMera. John hoped maybe Diana could add to the claim. Marlena suggests she could've had a clue they missed. Diana says she doesn't recall seeing Kristen. John says it was worth a try. Diana asks if he's thinking it was somebody other than Kristen. John says they have no reason to since Kristen tried to kill Marlena once with penicillin. Diana asks about the fingerprints off the IV. John informs her that Eli took the bag to the police station so they will try to get prints off it in the morning. John hopes that will bring them definitive proof that Kristen tried to murder Marlena. Diana calls that terrific news and decides to go. She wishes Marlena a speedy recovery as John walks her out of the room. John appreciates Diana coming as it's been a rough time so her support has meant a lot to him. Diana assures that she would do anything for him. John suggests they and Marlena go out to dinner and invite Leo once Marlena is better. Diana says she would like that as John walks away. Diana wonders to herself if she wiped her fingerprints off the IV bag and decides she better get a hold of it to make sure as she then exits the hospital.

Lani decides to quit while they are ahead and tells Eli she'll meet him back at his place. Eli agrees to be there as soon as he can. Diana arrives and introduces herself to them. Eli asks if they can help her out with something. Diana claims to be a reporter working on a piece about the manhunt for Kristen DiMera. Eli asks why. Diana calls it kind of personal since she knows the hell Kristen has put John and Marlena through so she wants to help bring her to justice by bringing more attention to the case. Diana says they can't let a monster like Kristen remain on the loose after what happened to Marlena. Diana asks if they can fill her in on where they are in the investigation.

Haley tells JJ that she never hated him. She was angry and hurt that he shared his secret with Jack but he didn't know he would tell the world. JJ regrets opening his mouth. Haley understands JJ trusted him and he let him down. Haley gets that JJ has a really big heart. Haley appreciates everything he's done for her as she never would've been able to afford Justin on her own. JJ asks her to let him help her with this one last thing. Haley repeats that she doesn't hate him but she doesn't fully trust him either so she doesn't want him marrying her because he feels guilty. JJ asks her for a chance to prove himself to earn back her trust. Haley argues that she has 30 days so she doesn't have time and needs to focus on making this work with Tripp. JJ brings up Tripp having a girlfriend. Haley tells him that Tripp said he was sure he could convince Claire to go along with everything. JJ asks what if he can't. Haley doesn't know what to do in that case. JJ points out that he's single and he lives alone while she is jumping into the middle of someone's relationship. JJ tells her that if she wants to make it seem like a real marriage, they'll have to stay together for a long time while investigators will ask questions. Haley assures they are prepared for this. JJ asks if she want to be in a fake loveless marriage with someone who is already in love with someone else. JJ argues that Tripp doesn't care about her like he does. JJ then kisses Haley.

Claire complains about Tripp marrying another woman. Tripp assures there is nothing romantic about it. Claire questions Tripp thinking he'll get away with it when they hardly know each other so Jack and immigration will see right through their sham. Tripp believes they can sell it. Claire brings up people seeing her posts about their relationship on social media. Tripp says he'll tell them they broke up. Claire argues that her family and friends know it's not the truth. Tripp says he'll just have to convince them but Claire calls it impossible. Claire warns Tripp that he could go to jail if they get caught but Tripp says he won't let that happen. Claire asks what happens to them. Tripp says they'll still be together just in private. Claire argues that won't work since she's a very public person and her social media is very important to her. Claire asks what if she doesn't want to keep quiet and make her life a big secret. Tripp tries to encourage her about it. Tripp gets that it's a big sacrifice but what they are doing to Haley is not fair. Claire questions why this is so important to him and if he's sure he doesn't have feelings for Haley.

Gabi goes to the DiMera Mansion and tells Stefan that she got his text. She comments on the broken glass in the back door. Stefan asks if she's working with Brady to sabotage him. Gabi claims not to know what he's talking about. Stefan says there's been a bit of corporate espionage at DiMera. Stefan asks if she told Brady that Leo was going to spy on him. Gabi questions if he told Leo to spy on Brady and says that would be a terrible idea. Stefan guesses it was Gabi.

Leo goes to the Kiriakis Mansion and questions what kind of brother Brady is, accusing him of playing him. Brady tells him to be more specific. Leo argues that he fed him false information to pass on to Stefan DiMera. Brady questions Leo being angry that he stopped him from spying on him. Leo claims he had no choice since Brady wouldn't hire him while Stefan offered him a job. Brady points out that job was scamming his own brother. Brady calls him a con artist who has been focused on nothing but stealing from his family and his company so he would never trust him. Leo tells him to go to Hell. Brady thinks Leo is the one heading there since he's finally shown his true colors to everybody and he's got what he deserves - nothing.

John goes back to Marlena's room to check on her. John insists that he's going to take care of business regarding Kristen. Marlena suggests letting the police handle it. John thinks once he can prove his theory, they will be able to deal with her and put this behind them. Marlena worries it won't be that easy but John thinks soon they will have her right where they want her.

Diana comments on Eli and Lani waiting for the fingerprints from the IV bag and wishes them luck. Eli asks if there's anything else they can do. Diana thanks them for taking the time to answer her questions. Diana says it was a pleasure to meet both of them. Lani tells Eli that she'll see him later. Eli asks her to take the IV bag and lock it up in the safe in Hope's office. Lani asks why it can't stay in the evidence room. Eli points out they are talking about DiMeras so they aren't taking any chances. Lani agrees to get on it right away as Diana remains listening nearby.

Leo complains about Brady costing him a big payday and threatens to tell John which Brady laughs at. Leo asks if he thinks this is funny but Brady says it's sad. Leo warns that he doesn't know who he's messing with and he's lost his only source of income because of him. Brady suggests he get a real job instead of scamming other people. Leo mocks him being born rich. Brady jokes that he could go back to being an escort. Leo declares he's going to see John at the hospital. Brady suggests he doesn't since John need to focus on Marlena right now. Leo argues that he's John's son so Brady won't keep him from him. Brady asks if he means John's bank account. Leo then walks out of the mansion.

Gabi asks Stefan why she would sellout the company that underwrites her livelihood. Stefan points out that Gabi hates him and that she's the only one who knew about Leo's offer to help him. Gabi claims she didn't say anything and questions trusting Leo with anything after what he did to Sonny and his family. Stefan admits he's hardly trustworthy but neither is Gabi. Stefan brings up Gabi's daughter living in Brady's house. Gabi points out that a lot of other people live there too. Stefan hopes she's not lying. Stefan warns that Mr. Shin and the board saved her ass once but they won't hesitate to toss her out if they find out she's double crossing the company. Gabi calls him paranoid and says he could be behind all of it. Gabi suggests he's sabotaging his own company. Stefan calls her clever and warns that if she's lying, the board firing her will be the least of her troubles. Stefan remarks that he would hate to see her daughter lose her mother again. Gabi then slaps Stefan.

Tripp promises Claire that he doesn't have feelings for Haley and she's just a friend that he's trying to help out. Claire questions him risking everything he has for a girl he hardly knows. Tripp knows what it's like to feel alone in the world like he did before coming to Salem. Tripp wants Haley to know she has someone in her corner. Claire guesses this wedding is happening whether she agrees or not. Tripp hopes he doesn't have to make that decision and he knows she didn't ask for this so if she needs to break up with him. Claire asks if that's what he wants. Tripp says of course not but he doesn't expect her to like what he's doing. Claire declares that she hates this and thinks it's a terrible mistake. Claire asks when the wedding is happening. Tripp reveals it may be as soon as tomorrow. Claire calls it insane and asks how he's going to make people believe the wedding is real when immigration will be all over them. Tripp is confident he can make them believe the relationship is real. Tripp knows what they are doing is wrong but he knows it's the right thing to do. Tripp asks if Claire will support his decision. Claire screams into a pillow and then tells Tripp that she will support him but she really doesn't like it. Tripp thanks her and they kiss.

JJ and Haley kiss until she stops and says they can't do this. JJ calls her the best thing to come into his life in a long time so he doesn't want to lose her and he'll do anything to protect her. JJ argues that marrying him wouldn't be a fake marriage of convenience. Haley tells him that she's sorry but she's going to marry Tripp as she then rushes out of the apartment.

Lani walks through the town square and comes across JJ sitting at a table. She tells him she's sorry about Haley's court case and asks if she's really going to be deported in 30 days. JJ says he tried to help her explore other ways of staying which Lani questions. JJ says it doesn't matter now as she decided on a different solution. Lani knows how much he cares about her and asks if this other solution will keep her in the country. JJ says there's a possibility so Lani suggests there's still a chance they could be together. JJ declares that even if Haley is allowed to stay, he'll never get to be with her again.

Haley goes to the Loft where Claire pretends to be accepting of her wedding to Tripp. Haley hugs her and tells her how much it means to her.

Stefan warns Gabi to never slap him again. Gabi warns him to never threaten her or her daughter again otherwise she guarantees he'll be the one terminated. Gabi then walks out of the mansion.

Leo goes to Marlena's hospital room looking for John. Marlena asks what's going on. Brady comes in and says he told Leo not to bother. Leo declares he's not leaving until he speaks with his father so he asks where John is.

Diana breaks into Hope's office only to be surprised to find John is waiting for her with the IV bag in hand and asks if she's looking for this.
