Ben tells Ciara that he is leaving Salem. She questions what made him decide to leave so he informs her that it was her mother.

Hope meets Rafe at Doug's Place and confirms that she's closed the Ben Weston case so she's no longer worrying about Ben. Rafe questions her not thinking he's a threat anymore. Hope responds that she made an offer he can't refuse.

At the Kiriakis Mansion, Sonny calls Will and tells him that they need to figure out how to deal with Ted because if they don't do what he says, he'll go public about what he did to Leo. Sonny knows they won't let that happen. Chad walks in as Sonny questions how they are going to come up with that kind of money.

Abigail sits at home and looks at her and Chad's wedding photo as she thinks back to Chad walking out.

Marlena declares that John has now ruined the wedding because it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her gown before the ceremony. John questions why she's in the dress anyway. Marlena explains that she was checking it after an alteration and he shouldn't be here because it's bad luck. John doesn't believe in that but Marlena does and says he should too.

Rafe questions what kind of deal Hope offered Ben. Hope explains that she gave him two simple options; he stays and she keeps the investigation open which means she would do everything she can to send him back to prison or she drops the case allowing him to leave town for good so he'll never have anything to do with Ciara again. Rafe asks if she means that she'll make his life a living hell if he stays in Salem. Hope says she would take the deal because Ben keeps his freedom while she gets to keep Ciara safe. Rafe asks what Ben said.

Ciara questions Ben accepting Hope's deal and argues that he could've said no. Ben says Hope would be following him around with the police harassing him every day. Ben adds that Hope won't let up until he's locked up again. Ciara brings up that there is no proof that he set the fire. Ben asks what he would do if he stayed since no one would hire him with the police following him around and he wouldn't be able to pay rent or pay her back. Ben doesn't want to be looked as the Necktie Killer anymore. Ben wants a life and to start over which Hope won't allow in Salem.

Sonny says he'll see what he can do and hangs up. Chad says he didn't mean to sneak up on him but he couldn't help overhearing. Chad asks why he's so desperate for money and if he's in some kind of trouble. Chad asks if it's about Leo missing and offers to help. Sonny tells him that he's okay and claims he was just trying to get financing for a new business since he's no longer with Titan. Chad is sorry about how that all worked out and hopes he understands why Victor thought it was best that he not come back right now. Sonny agrees that it was the right decision. Chad asks what his new venture is and if there's anything he can do to help. Sonny doesn't think so and doesn't think Chad investing is a good idea. Sonny tells Chad to keep his distance from him. Chad asks if he wants to run any ideas by him. Sonny appreciates it but feels he has enough on his plate. Chad says he'll always have time for him. Sonny asks why he's here so late anyways. Chad reveals that he has nowhere else to go because he walked out on Abigail.

JJ goes to see Abigail as he wanted to check on her and asks what's going on. Abigail informs him that Chad walked out after saying he couldn't live here anymore. JJ mentions seeing Chad earlier and he said they were working things out. Abigail explains that they were and then Chad walked in on Stefan feeling her baby kick which JJ questions. Abigail admits that she let Stefan do it so that he would leave. JJ guesses Chad was furious which Abigail confirms. Abigail had never seen Chad like that and it's her fault. Abigail doesn't know where Chad went, when he's coming back, or if he'll be able to get over this.

John repeats that he doesn't believe in superstition and believes they make their own luck in this world. Marlena brings up when things are out of their control. John insists and jokes that believing in that stuff can screw up lives. Marlena decides she doesn't believe in it and laughs it off but admits she's had a terrible feeling that something could go wrong. John agrees to leave while she gets out of the dress and they'll pretend it never happened. Marlena worries that it won't work because it's too late. Marlena steps out of the room leaving John confused.

Rafe hopes that Hope knows what she's doing with this deal she offered Ben. Hope responds that she had to get rid of a serial killer who convinced her daughter that he is her hero. Rafe just wants to make sure she doesn't overstep. Rafe warns that Ben could have a harassment claim against her if she uses her power to try to push him out of town. Hope feels that Ben knows leaving town is the only choice and tells Rafe to stop worrying. Hope calls this a reason to celebrate. Rafe toasts to Hope smiling again. Hope says it was hard to smile when her daughter was in danger. Rafe relates to his sister being in prison. Hope asks how Gabi is doing. Rafe says she's okay then admits she's not as she's fighting with Arianna and dealing with what happened to her in prison. Rafe adds that Gabi tells him everything is fine but he doesn't believe her. Rafe knows he can't force her to talk to him. Hope assures that Gabi is free now because of Rafe. Rafe wants Gabi to know she can lean on him and that he will do anything for her. Hope encourages that everyone knows that he would do anything for the people he loves. Rafe wants her to know that means her too.

Ciara tells Ben that she understands Hope being an overprotective mother but she can't use the power of her job to run Ben out of town. Ben calls it unfair and he doesn't like it either but he can't blame her. Ciara is worried about Ben and begs him not to give up. Ciara tries to stand but falls while Ben tries to catch her and ends up on top of her as they get close.

Chad explains to Sonny how Abigail let Stefan feel the baby kick to get him to leave but he wanted to kill him after walking in and seeing his hands on his wife. Sonny argues that walking away from Abigail won't make things better. Chad says he promised to do everything he could to accept the baby but he can't and every time he thinks about it, he's just reminded of what Stefan did to them. Sonny asks if he's going to walk away from their marriage. Chad doesn't know as he still loves Abigail but it's too painful. Gabi appears outside the door and hears Chad tell Sonny that he did what he felt he had to do and moved out.

John and Marlena go to their bedroom. John tells her she looks just as beautiful in her robe as she did in the dress. Marlena thought they were pretending that didn't happen. They both apologize. Marlena says she's just been anxious but she knows everything will be fine and nothing will go wrong since Stefano is gone, Will is home, and their family is just fine. John asks if everything being good is making her nervous. Marlena admits she's been waking up in the middle of the night thinking something will go wrong at the wedding. John suggests she's protecting herself from being hurt again and she's afraid to feel too happy because she knows how hard it would be if it were all taken away again. John assures that bad luck will never be a match for true love. John doesn't care what's happened in the past and promises nothing will ever come between them again as they kiss.

Abigail regrets letting Chad go and not going after him. JJ suggests it's best to give him space as he knows how devastating it can be to find out the woman you love is having another man's child. Abigail apologizes for not thinking about him. JJ says this isn't about him. Abigail says if JJ couldn't accept Lani's baby, she doesn't know why she'd expect Chad to accept Stefan's. JJ points out that the situations are different since they are married and Lani lied to him while Abigail told Chad the truth. Abigail admits she almost didn't but Gabi convinced her to tell Chad the truth because she was being a good friend. JJ is glad Gabi is there for him but he wants to make sure she knows that she's been there for Chad too. JJ informs her that Chad was with Gabi earlier and it's hard to explain but it looked like they were sharing an intimate moment and he didn't like it so he called Chad out but Gabi defended him and said she was just being a friend. JJ says he shouldn't have even brought it up.

Gabi enters the living room and greets Sonny and Chad. Sonny asks what brings her by. Gabi reminds him that she called about seeing Arianna. Sonny apologizes as it slipped his mind. Gabi knows it's late but it's really important she talks to her. Sonny asks if something is wrong. Gabi is just over the distance between her and her daughter so it's time for her to know the truth about everything since that's why she's upset. Chad and Sonny agree that it's a good idea. Sonny exits to go get Arianna. Chad feels he should've spent more time with Arianna while Gabi was away. Gabi knows he had a lot to deal with. Gabi mentions hearing Chad say he moved out and she thought they were working through things. Gabi asks what happened. Chad informs her that Stefan happened and he realized he couldn't do it. Gabi hugs him and tells him she's so sorry. Sonny brings Arianna in to see Gabi. Gabi knows she's still mad at her and she doesn't blame her but she came to tell her why she couldn't come home to her. Arianna says no. Chad convinces her to listen to Gabi. Gabi sits with Arianna and explains that she was in prison. Arianna asks if she did something bad. Gabi responds that somebody made up a not very nice story about her so she got taken away but she was trying to get back to her the whole time. Sonny didn't want her to be afraid. Gabi apologizes to Arianna and promises to do everything she can to make sure something like this never happens again. Gabi tells her she misses her so much then Arianna finally hugs Gabi.

Rafe tells Hope that he hurt her and broke her trust which he'll never forgive himself for. Hope states she did her best to push him away. Rafe touches her face and she smiles.

Ben helps Ciara up and asks if she's okay. Ciara says she's just not used to not having her crutches. Ben suggests it's a sign but Ciara says she won't let a weak leg stop her from confronting Hope. Ben asks her not to do this because he doesn't want to cause any more trouble. Ben argues that she'll never convince Hope that he's a good person or not a threat. Ben says Hope will just push back and she won't stop until he is out of her life. Ben decides if he leaves now, at least he won't be locked up. Ciara asks if he will go to his sister's but Ben doesn't want to burden Jordan. Ciara wants him to stay and prove to everyone that he's changed. Ben asks how he can prove that to Eve, Chad, or Abigail that he actually deserves to be here. Ciara brings up that Marlena still believes he's innocent. Ben is grateful but calls it a losing battle. Ciara refuses to give up on him.

John and Marlena lay in bed together after having sex. John jokes that didn't feel like bad luck which Marlena agrees with. John tells her the wedding will be perfect and the whole family will see it. Marlena brings up that Sami won't be there as she still hasn't heard from her despite her messages and neither has Eric or Belle. John wonders what's going on. Marlena's phone then rings with a call from Sami.

Gabi suggests Arianna go brush her teeth and then she'll read her a bedtime story. Arianna asks if Gabi is staying over. Gabi says she's not but she'll be back early in the morning to drive her to school. Sonny suggests Gabi stay since they have plenty of room since Brady and Tate moved out. Arianna wants a sleepover in her room. Sonny and Gabi agree which makes Arianna happy. Sonny tells Gabi that he's so happy for her. Gabi thanks Sonny and Chad. Chad knows nothing could make up for the lost time. Gabi is just happy Arianna is happy to see her. Sonny can't wait to tell Will. Chad loves a happy ending. Sonny hopes he gets his too. Chad says they'll see. Sonny asks where Chad is going to go. Chad decides he will get a room at the Salem Inn. Gabi argues that they can't let him do that and he should stay here. Chad says the Salem Inn is fine but Sonny feels he needs to be with friends right now so until he and Abigail figure things out, he's staying right here. Chad hugs Sonny as Gabi smiles.

JJ asks Abigail if he can get her anything before he goes. Abigail says she's good but appreciates him stopping by and adds that she's here for him too as they hug. JJ encourages that it will get better and then exits. Abigail looks back at her and Chad's wedding photo.

Marlena tells Sami that she's so glad to hear from her as she's been worried. Marlena knows how busy she is but points out that she hadn't RSVPed to the wedding and they are looking forward to seeing her. Marlena then says almost everyone is. Marlena asks when Sami's flight is. Marlena tries to say it won't be a problem but Sami hangs up, leaving her disappointed. Marlena informs John that Sami is not coming to the wedding.

Rafe and Hope dance together at Doug's Place and get close until Rafe's phone rings. Rafe doesn't want to answer it but Hope tells him to go ahead as it could be work. They almost kiss but Rafe sees the call is from Gabi. Hope assures she's not going anywhere so Rafe answers and asks if everything is okay. Gabi tells him it couldn't be better as she finally told Arianna the truth about why she was away and she forgave her and wants her to stay over. Rafe calls that great news. Rafe asks if that means Gabi is not coming home tonight. Gabi confirms as she didn't want him to worry. Rafe thanks her and calls that the best possible reason for not coming home.

Gabi hangs up and asks Sonny if she can borrow a t-shirt and shorts to sleep in. Sonny says he'll grab them and they can meet in Arianna's room. Gabi thanks him for letting her stay. Sonny says he never needs to thank her and needed some good news today. Sonny is glad things worked out for her. Sonny adds that he and Will will always be there for her and Arianna. Sonny heads upstairs while Gabi heads back into the living room where Chad called Abigail to say goodnight to Thomas. Chad informs Abigail that he's staying at Sonny's tonight. Abigail is glad he's staying with friends. Chad turns around and sees Gabi then says he should go and he'll call to check on Thomas in the morning. Chad and Abigail say goodnight as they hang up. Gabi asks if Abigail is okay. Chad thinks she was just hoping he'd change his mind. Gabi tells Chad that he's got her.

John asks Marlena if Sami gave a reason why she's not coming to the wedding. Marlena says Sami said it's because of what happened between her and Rafe and she couldn't bear to face Hope now that the word is out. John asks if that sounds right to her. They agree that it's unlike Sami to avoid a conflict. John questions Sami missing their wedding to avoid a complicated situation. Marlena thinks Sami has something else going on.

Hope asks Rafe how Gabi is. Rafe responds that she's great as she finally patched things up with Arianna and is having a sleepover with Sonny. Hope points out that means Gabi is not coming home and calls that interesting that Rafe will have an empty house. Hope then invites Rafe to come home with her tonight and make it permanent. Rafe asks if she's sure. Hope doesn't know but they are still legally married. Rafe is glad they trashed the annulment and then kisses Hope.

Ciara asks Ben if he wants to stay in Salem. Ben says it's not that simple. Ciara asks again. Ben says he does so Ciara declares he's staying because this is his life, he fought hard to get it back, and now he gets to live it on his own terms. Ciara plans to tell that to Hope and declares they are going to fight this together. Ben feels it's not her fight but Ciara says someone has to stand up for him so it might as well be her.
