Rafe, Marlena, Steve, and Kayla wait for Shane at the hotel in Prague. Rafe worries about it being over an hour of waiting and Hope's life being on the line.

Justin joins Nicole in the interrogation room and informs her that her bail hearing went extremely well so she will be out of here. Nicole thanks him for everything he's done but she doesn't feel like a winner because she's still accused of murder and still doesn't have her baby. Justin tells her to be patient because it will happen after the DNA test proves she is Holly's biological mother. Justin tells her to hold on tight as he exits the room. Nicole then imagines Daniel appearing before her and saying it's not like her to be so defeated.

Victor and Maggie go to the hospital to meet Deimos, who texted them to come as soon as possible. Deimos clarifies that it wasn't an emergency but he has important news to tell them. Deimos mentions that the man Nicole stabbed is still in a coma but is said to be recovering. Maggie still finds it hard to believe that Nicole would do something like that. Victor jokes about not knowing Nicole at all. Deimos expresses that Nicole did what she had to do to stop the hitman from killing him. Deimos adds that's not the news but what he's about to tell them will shock them. Chloe then appears with Holly. Deimos greets Chloe and asks if she wants to tell Victor and Maggie the truth about Holly or should he. Deimos notes that Chloe hasn't been charged yet and questions the cop nearby. Deimos informs Victor and Maggie that a DNA test was performed on Holly and the results will surprise them. Chloe then admits that Holly is not her child biologically as she was a surrogate for Nicole and Daniel which means Holly is Maggie's granddaughter.

Nicole knows seeing Daniel is a dream and mentions them having a baby. Nicole realizes that her last dream about Daniel was him trying to tell her about their baby when he said he would always be with her. Nicole cries as Daniel tells her not to worry as everything will be fine. Nicole talks about Chloe suing for custody while she's been arrested. Daniel assures that he trusts in her that she will do whatever it takes to get their baby back.

Steve agrees with Rafe that it's not cool for Shane to keep them waiting so he wants to go track him down but Shane arrives and says he's been working around the clock. Shane tells them it will be worth it. Shane reveals the surveillance on the two houses that Stefano owns has just paid off.

Nicole talks to her dream of Daniel about how bad it is as she stabbed a man and is going backwards without Daniel. Daniel encourages that she will get through this. Nicole wishes she knew how. Nicole cries that Daniel was supposed to be there to help raise Holly. Daniel continues to encourage her. Daniel says he will always be there for them. Nicole wishes he was with her and not just in her dreams. Daniel assures her that his heart will always be with her. Nicole then wakes up to Brady entering the interrogation room. Brady informs Nicole that the DNA test results showed Holly is definitely Nicole's daughter. Brady adds that Justin is ready for a court fight.

Chloe explains to Maggie and Victor how she was the surrogate for Daniel and Nicole. Chloe talks about it not working the first time and wanting to help keep part of Daniel alive for her. Deimos adds that the problem is that Chloe kept the whole thing secret. Chloe doesn't regret it because she doesn't want Deimos anywhere near Holly or Parker. Victor tells Chloe that nobody cares what she thinks about Deimos and that she had no right to keep that secret. Victor argues that Chloe is not Holly's mother and accuses her of being incapable of love. Chloe argues that she carried the baby and is a good mother. Deimos tells Chloe that he is not that moved by her love when Holly's real mother is alive and well. Deimos repeats that Holly is not Chloe's child. Chloe argues that she brought her in to this world. Deimos tells her it's time to give her up but Chloe refuses and declares she will sue for full custody.

Shane talks about having his agents glued to those properties and that Paul helped him go through all the surveillance cameras. Rafe asks if there is anything they can use. Shane says they have a dozen photos of someone that looks like Stefano. Rafe says that's great if they can prove it. Shane reveals a highly classified ISA program. Steve declares they will finally see if the phoenix really did rise from the ashes.

Brady encourages Nicole about the test results. Nicole calls it overwhelming and thinks of all the times she came close to being a mother. Brady reminds her that this is why he and Deimos waited to tell her. Nicole understands now that Brady knew it would tear her apart. Nicole apologizes for getting angry with him and says she is so grateful for this gift. Nicole asks where Holly is now. Brady says she is with Chloe until they get the birth certificate legally voided. Nicole goes over Chloe getting impregnated without her knowledge but that it led to Holly. Nicole cries that she needs to be with her baby.

Victor tells Chloe to try not to be an idiot for once as she has nothing to stand on since she's not the mother. Chloe argues that she is Daniel's ex wife and the mother of Parker. Chloe brings up Nicole being charged with attempted murder so the court will see it her way. Deimos questions Chloe going through all of this just to keep him away from Holly. Deimos asks if she will do this to Nicole. Chloe says as long as it keeps him away. Victor accuses Chloe of doing this on her own but Chloe says she had Daniel and Nicole's permission. The cop nearby warns Chloe not to leave town. Victor argues that Chloe has no chance. Victor tells Chloe to figure out what's right and actually do it. Victor accuses Chloe of protecting a baby that isn't even hers just to stick it to Deimos. Maggie asks to speak to Chloe so they step into a private room at the hospital. Chloe apologizes for going at it with Victor. Maggie asks to hold her granddaughter so Chloe lets her. They talk about missing Daniel and seeing him in Holly. Maggie asks Chloe why she is doing this and keeping Holly to herself as it doesn't make sense to her. Chloe repeats that it's about keeping her from Deimos because he is evil. Chloe argues that people get hurt in Deimos' influence so Holly would be poisoned by who and what he is. Chloe declares that she will not let a child she brought in to the world live in that. Chloe reminds Maggie that she knows what Deimos is like and questions if she really wants him raising her granddaughter. Maggie responds that she has made peace with Deimos and sees how much he loves Nicole but that's not what is important here. Maggie believes the child should be brought up by her mother. Chloe says no because Deimos is dangerous so as long as Nicole is with him, she is keeping Holly.

Deimos complains to Victor about Chloe but says he needs to stay calm. Victor agrees and understands having dark thoughts about Chloe. Deimos knows he needs to be patient. Victor reminds that Daniel is his godson so he has a stake in this. Deimos will take whatever help he can get. Victor replies that they both have the same goal of having the child raised as a Kiriakis.

Nicole tells Brady that she won't let this get to her as the facts are on her side. Nicole argues that any judge would see that Holly is hers and not Chloe's. Nicole hugs Brady and says she's lucky to have someone looking out for her. Her imagination of Daniel appears and looks on approvingly with a smile before disappearing again.

Shane shows Rafe, Marlena, Kayla, and Steve the photos of the man that looks like Stefano. The ISA technology finds a confirmed match which they all agree it is Stefano. Steve declares the son of a bitch is definitely still alive. Shane says that photo was taken in the office building. Rafe wants to go to the address but Shane stops him and says the ISA will be handling things now. Rafe questions doing that while Stefano gets away. Shane notes the picture was taken yesterday so he probably isn't there anymore. Shane adds he will have the surveillance team on it and will let them know. Shane says the ISA will make the call as to how and when the arrest goes down. Rafe mocks the idea but Shane insists that they will get him. Shane says he has to get back to London and his team will handle things but he will talk to them later. Shane exits as Marlena, Steve, and Kayla comment on a positive step. Rafe worries that they are just right back to waiting. Steve doesn't think they should wait since the ISA will be worrying about jurisdiction and protocol. Rafe worries Stefano will find out and get away. Marlena asks if Steve is saying they should go after Stefano themselves. Steve says yes and they will clue in Shane later. Rafe agrees that he's not going back to Salem with just a picture as proof that Stefano is alive. Steve declares they need to get him themselves and asks if everybody is up for that.

Brady brings Nicole a coffee. She thanks him but says he doesn't have to stay with her as Justin is rounding up the bail and she'll be out soon. Brady wants to see her walk out with his own and thinks she would stay for him if the situation was reversed. Nicole agrees and says they have been friends a long time. Brady says now they have even more in common as they both have kids. Brady says they will be seeing a lot of each other. Nicole asks if he misses Daniel too. Brady responds that he does every time his heart beats as he was his best friend. Brady talks about always being able to go to Daniel on a bad day. Nicole wishes Daniel was here to see his daughter. Nicole admits she is so scared of doing this alone. Brady tells her that she doesn't have to be alone as he will be there for both of them. Brady hugs her.

Chloe tells Maggie that she is welcome to visit any time she likes and Victor is also welcome as long as he keeps things civil. Victor complains about more lawyers and legal fees as he exits the hospital with Maggie. Deimos stops Chloe and asks for one last chance to try to change her mind.

Rafe tells Steve that he is in and asks what they are waiting for with Hope on the run where she could be caught, killed, or captured. Steve repeats that he's in. Kayla doesn't know how they will succeed where the ISA hasn't been able to. Steve says they just need to figure out a way to get to him that they haven't thought of. Marlena decides they need a trap and she knows what Stefano's obsessions can make him do. Marlena suggests putting herself out there as bait and that's how they get Hope back.

Victor and Maggie go to see Nicole in the interrogation room. Maggie tells Nicole about seeing Holly and trying to convince Chloe to change her mind but she couldn't. Victor remarks that it's a waste trying to talk to Chloe. Maggie tells Nicole to forget about Chloe right now as they will help any way they can. Justin enters and declares that Nicole's bail is posted so she has forms to sign and then she's out. Brady tells Nicole to come get him when she's done as she exits with Justin.

Deimos realizes that Chloe hasn't trusted him since he called her for help. Chloe mentions him lying about his name. Deimos apologizes for all he has done to hurt her. Deimos doesn't want to talk about the past but the present and future. Deimos knows that they have differences but they share love for Nicole. Deimos tells Chloe that her love and respect for Nicole gave her a child to make her dream come true. Deimos reminds Chloe why she did that and encourage her to give Nicole the baby that she desperately wants which he calls a true act of friendship. Chloe turns away from him. Deimos argues that there is no way Chloe can win in court so this is all morally wrong and futile. Deimos warns Chloe that if she doesn't give up the child now then a judge will take her by force and give her to them. Deimos declares that when he and Nicole get married, he is going to be Holly's father and there's nothing she can do about it. Chloe tells him that he and his threats can go to Hell as she will see them in court.

Victor and Maggie return home. Maggie talks about how a part of Daniel will now be with them forever. Maggie cries that she is happy and blessed for that but that Daniel should be here to share in this joy. Victor agrees and hugs her. Maggie doesn't understand Chloe's anger. Victor calls her crazy and vindictive. Maggie hopes all of this works out and no one else gets hurt which Victor doubts. Victor says they all have to pull together to make sure Nicole comes out on top. Deimos enters and tells him that Nicole will get her daughter back as he will do everything in his power to make sure that happens.

Justin returns to the interrogation room where Brady asks about Nicole. Justin tells him that she already finished and he thought she came back to him. Justin adds that he has no idea where she went. Brady worries that he has a pretty good idea.

Chloe watches over Holly in her hotel room when Nicole shows up at her door.
