Penthouse Grill:

Sami and Chelsea are dining together but Chelsea only picks at her food. Sami jokes about how being pregnant means she’s always hungry but Chelsea laments that she won’t get to experience that because she’ll always be alone. Chelsea jokingly suggests becoming a nun. Sami tries to convince Chelsea that this is only a momentary rough patch in her life. Chelsea complains that her efforts to be a good person have only resulted in getting dumped on. Sami empathizes with Chelsea by describing a feeling of being alone. Chelsea insists she truly is alone and has been since the Bensons died. Sami reminds Chelsea that she has Bo and Billie but Chelsea points out that Bo and Billie both have done her wrong lately. Sami points out that the Bradys are a nice family and uses herself being there as an example. Chelsea questions why Sami is being so nice to her and Sami admits that she sees a lot of herself in Chelsea. Sami asks Chelsea to be a bridesmaid in her new wedding and Chelsea jokes that she was the worst bridesmaid ever in Sami’s last wedding. Sami admits that she was probably the worst bride ever then and suggests they make a fresh start together.

Celeste’s car:

Celeste has Benji meet her by getting into her car. Celeste asks Benji for his help in stopping EJ.

State hospital:

Kayla calls around asking people to be on the lookout for Steve. Roman arrives after hearing the news and Kayla is glad to see him. Roman mentions putting out an APB but Kayla fears that having cops confront Steve will only make matters worse. Roman insists that he has to do whatever he can to get Steve off the streets.

Billie’s apartment:

Steve tells Billie about breaking out of the hospital. Billie asks Steve what he wants from her and Steve asks her to get him money, clothes, and a car so he can leave. There is a knock at the door and Billie turns to answer it. Steve grabs her arm to keep her from answering the door. Billie gets Steve to release her arm by begging him to let her see if the visitor is Chelsea. Steve hides out of sight when Billie opens the door to find EJ standing there. EJ asks Billie to join him at the Penthouse Grill but Billie turns him down by claiming that Chelsea has come home to talk. EJ leaves and Billie shuts and locks the door. Steve frantically asks Billie how long she and EJ have been seeing each other.

State hospital:

Kayla gives Roman a list of everyone she thinks Steve would have gone to see. Roman agrees to split up the list and make calls to try and narrow things down. Kayla is sure that Steve is with EJ and suggests that EJ even orchestrated the escape. Roman points out that Kayla didn’t write down the possibility that Steve could have gone to see Billie.

Billie’s apartment:

Steve looks through the peephole to make sure EJ is really gone. Billie insists that she and EJ aren’t dating but Steve questions why EJ felt so comfortable asking Billie out. Billie insists that their relationship is merely business. Steve warns that Billie better be telling him the truth because he would hate to think Billie is selling him out like everyone else.

Celeste’s car:

Celeste can tell that EJ doesn’t want Sami’s baby to be a proper father and asks Benji if he knows what EJ’s true plans are. Benji hesitates but Celeste insists that he can trust her. Benji explains that Stefano thinks Sami’s baby is a gift from God. Celeste asks for clarification but Benji doesn’t know anything further. Benji warns that this won’t bode well for Sami.

Penthouse Grill:

Sami recalls that she has to call the photographer and tells Chelsea about their plans to videotape the wedding as she writes down a reminder in her notebook. Chelsea likes the idea of using a videographer so it preserves the moment for Sami’s new baby to see. EJ walks in as Sami is asking Chelsea for her answer about being a bridesmaid. EJ teases Sami about making wedding plans again and accuses her of taking too much for granted. Sami isn’t happy to see EJ and tells him to mind his own business. EJ claims he’s only looking out for Sami’s happiness and reminds her that she shouldn’t get her hopes up given her track record at weddings. Sami insists she won’t be disappointed and asks why he has come by. EJ insists he merely stopped to say hello and walks away to sit at his own table. Sami resumes talking about the wedding but Chelsea turns down the offer to be a bridesmaid. Sami is disappointed but Chelsea explains that she can’t face a family wedding when half her family is disappointed in her and the other half has disappointed her. Sami encourages Chelsea to wait things out and she will soon be back in her family’s good graces again just like her. Chelsea points out that the family only likes Sami again because she saved Lucas; something Chelsea can’t sit around waiting to happen. Sami and EJ exchange glances across the room.

Stefano’s doctor joins EJ at his table. EJ asks for an update on Stefano’s condition and the doctor tells him that Stefano has responded well to the transplant. The doctor also warns that there could be complications down the road in the form of immune system disorders that they won’t know about until a few weeks have passed. The doctor warns that they might need to consider a bone marrow transplant and asks if EJ has any other family members who can be counted on. EJ admits there might be and demands that the doctor give him an update day and night. The doctor agrees and leaves to head for the airport. Celeste steps off the elevator and spots EJ ogling Sami.

State hospital:

Kayla admits that she considered calling Billie but figured there was no point since Steve broke things off with Billie when he got his memory back. Roman points out that the Steve doing all these things now is not the same man she fell in love with. Kayla agrees to call Billie. Roman offers to do it but Kayla insists on making the call herself.

State hospital/Billie’s apartment:

Billie’s phone rings and Steve grabs her arm to stop her from answering it. Billie begs Steve to let her answer on the condition that it could be Chelsea calling. Steve allows her to answer but stands close listening in. Kayla, as Roman listens in on her end of the call, asks Billie if she’s seen Steve. Steve glares at Billie as she hesitates to answer. Billie lies to Kayla claiming that she hasn’t seen or heard from Steve because she’s been in bed all day with the flu. Billie acts surprised when Kayla tells her about Steve escaping and promises to call if she should hear from Steve.

Billie’s apartment:

Steve asks for clothing but Billie doesn’t have any men’s clothes to give him. Billie suggests using her spare key and getting some of Lucas’ clothes but Steve doesn’t want Billie to leave for fear that she’ll use Sami’s phone to call the cops. Billie assures Steve that she won’t call anyone.

State hospital:

Kayla believes Billie’s claim and relays Billie’s answer to Roman. Kayla is still convinced that Steve is with EJ so Roman offers to call Mythic and check on EJ’s whereabouts.

Penthouse Grill:

Sami advises Chelsea to hold her head up and be patient. Chelsea questions whether Sami is saying this because she is desperate for bridesmaids. Sami insists that facing the world and acting like you belong even though your heart is breaking on the inside is what makes someone a real hero. Sami jokes about how Chelsea could flirt with the groomsmen at the reception and make Nick jealous. Chelsea appreciates Sami making her feel like she’s needed. Sami insists that she’s proof positive anything can happen and Chelsea agrees to be her bridesmaid. They chat about going together to a dress fitting later this afternoon until a waiter walks up with a message for Sami. As Sami takes the message, the waiter leans in and whispers something in Sami’s ear. EJ notices Sami’s alarmed expression as he is still watching them from across the room. Chelsea becomes worried but Sami assures her everything is fine and excuses herself to head to the ladies room. EJ seizes the opportunity to talk to Chelsea alone and asks why Chelsea is at the restaurant rather than at home with Billie. Chelsea doesn’t understand why EJ would think she and Billie are at home talking when she isn’t speaking to Billie right now. EJ doesn’t reveal why he’s really asking but questions her about Sami rushing to the ladies’ room so quickly.

Billie’s apartment:

Billie tries to assure Steve that she’ll only get the clothes and come right back but Steve refuses to let Billie out of his sight. Billie agrees to let Steve borrow a pair of her old sweats. Billie starts to head into the bedroom but Steve makes her leave her cell phone and promise not to make any calls on the house phone while in the bedroom either. Billie assures Steve that she wouldn’t do that but Steve tells her to go get the clothes. Billie heads into the bedroom and Steve stands in the doorway watching her.

Penthouse Grill:

Chelsea tells EJ to mind his own business but EJ tells Chelsea about Sami fainting last night and claims that he was merely concerned about Sami’s health. Chelsea doesn’t really believe EJ but tells him to either go into the ladies room and ask Sami herself or wait for Sami to come out back at his own table. EJ warns Chelsea to dial down her hostility and tells her that he believes she is innocent of arson. Roman and Kayla walk in and Roman comments on seeing Chelsea dining with EJ. Chelsea explains that she’s really dining with Sami and repeats again for EJ to leave. This time EJ is happy to leave but Kayla insists that they are there to talk to him. EJ bids Chelsea goodbye and has Kayla and Roman join him at his table. Kayla glares at EJ and EJ mockingly asks what he’s being accused of this time.

Sami meets Celeste in the ladies room and yells at her for coming to the restaurant with EJ watching her so closely. Celeste explains that she found out where Sami was by talking to Lucas. Sami worries that Lucas will now be suspicious but Celeste assures her that Lucas believes she only wanted to talk to Sami to make sure that Abe and Theo were invited to the wedding. Sami is still worried that EJ will see them together and assume they are plotting something. Celeste brings up the plan to kill EJ but Sami still refuses to do it. Celeste tells Sami about Benji’s ‘gift from God’ warning about the baby. Celeste warns that Sami will never see her baby again once its born but Sami insists she has it all under control. Sami vaguely tells Celeste that she’s made a plan to convince EJ no matter what the amniocentesis truly says that Lucas is the father. Celeste doesn’t think EJ can be tricked at all and insists that he must be killed to be stopped. Sami still refuses to commit murder. Celeste claims this murder would be a favor to the world rather a sin. Sami tells Celeste to murder EJ if she truly feels that way. Sami warns Celeste not to let EJ see her leave before leaving the bathroom herself.

EJ watches Sami return to her table. Kayla demands to know where Steve is but EJ insists that Steve is still in the mental hospital. Kayla is getting angry but Roman calms her down. Roman tells EJ about Steve escaping and EJ adamantly denies helping Steve escape. Kayla starts rattling off accusations but Roman quiets her again. EJ warns Kayla to get a grip before she joins Steve at the hospital. Kayla brings up EJ’s visit and EJ tells the truth about Steve stealing a phone to call him and ask for his help to escape. Kayla doesn’t believe that EJ would try and convince Steve to stay locked up. Kayla demands to know the real reason.

Billie’s apartment:

Billie has retrieved the old sweats and watches Steve mark up a map before letting him know she’s back in the room. Steve explains that he’s mapping a route out of town. Billie becomes nervous when Steve starts vowing not to be taken in alive. Steve becomes concerned when he can see that Billie is scared of him.

Billie admits to being scared of Steve. Steve apologizes for being changed from the Steve she used to know. Steve insists that he doesn’t belong at the state hospital. Steve begs Billie to help him. Billie wipes tears from her eyes as she tells Steve to get dressed while she packs some food for their road trip.

Penthouse Grill:

EJ threatens to take out a restraining order against the Brady family. Roman calls his bluff but EJ alters his request to simply keeping Kayla away. EJ insists he doesn’t know where Steve is and suggests they check Billie’s house. Roman explains that they already checked with Billie and were told she hadn’t seen Steve all day. Kayla now is too angry to remain in EJ’s company and wants to leave. EJ offers to use his own connections to find Steve promising to hand him over to the police once he does. Roman is skeptical but leaves with Kayla without further argument. EJ pays his bill and follows them out.

Sami wonders where EJ is rushing off too and Chelsea tells Sami about EJ’s earlier questioning. Sami is eager to hear everything EJ said to Celeste. Celeste leaves the ladies room and makes it to the elevator while EJ’s back is turned making a phone call. EJ turns around in time to see the elevator doors close on Celeste. Chelsea tells Sami about EJ’s unnatural concern over why Sami rushed to the bathroom and how she had to keep replying that she didn’t know why Sami had left. Chelsea goes on to say that she and EJ exchanged angry remarks before Roman and Kayla interrupted them. Sami is surprised to learn that Roman and Kayla came by to talk to EJ but Chelsea assures her that they weren’t talking about her. Chelsea asks Sami for the real reason she ran off but Sami changes the subject by noticing how they are running late for the dress fitting. Chelsea is all for running out the door and forgetting what they had been talking about and Sami breathes a sigh of relief once Chelsea’s back is turned.

State hospital:

Kayla and Roman return to Steve’s room and search for a sign of where Steve might have gone. Roman searches along the walls and Kayla strips the bed but they find nothing. Kayla is sure that EJ knows more and Roman notes how surprised EJ truly was about the news that Steve escaped. Roman wants to call University Hospital to put extra security around John but Kayla doesn’t think Steve would go after John again. Kayla asks Roman to call Marlena and ask her to help.

Billie’s apartment:

Steve has now changed into Billie’s sweats and they finish packing their things. Billie opens the door to leave and finds EJ standing there. Steve, having been walking behind her, quickly hides behind the open door. EJ confronts Billie about lying earlier.
