Dr. Rebert instructs Chelsea in how to taste and judge fine wine. Chelsea becomes mildly uncomfortable when Dr. Rebert flirts with her but flirts back when she sees Nick watching them.
Cruise:Philip wants the ship searched again and again until they find Claire but Stratton doesn't see the point. Stratton insists that Belle, Shawn, and Claire have left the ship.
Hotel:Marlena checks in with Hope or Bo about Belle and Shawn before knocking on Kayla's door. Kayla unwraps the scarf from her neck and shows Marlena the bruises left by Steve's choking her. Kayla maintains that it isn't Steve's fault. Kayla asks Marlena to find Steve but she refuses.
Hospital:Steve is fueled by EJ's demand to retrieve John. Steve approaches John's hospital room as if he only has tunnel vision. Steve enters John's hospital room but is so overcome by the pounding in his head that he staggers back out.
Hotel:Marlena refuses to help Steve until his behavior is under control. Kayla can't imagine taking Marlena's advice of having Steve arrested. Kayla decides she must find Steve on her own. Marlena tries to convince Kayla that she can't "reach" Steve because the Steve she knows isn't there right now. Kayla points out that Marlena is able to communicate with John despite him being in a coma.
Chez Rouge:
Nick vents to Maggie as they watch Chelsea flirt with Dr. Rebert. Maggie warns that Nick should look for Dr. Rebert's welfare more than Chelsea's. Maggie suggests that Nick leave but he refuses. Nick plans to wait around until he has to rush in and save Chelsea. Maggie cautions that Nick is making a mistake thinking Chelsea is so sweet and innocent. Nick insists that Chelsea's toughness is an act. Maggie insists that Chelsea is playing the game just as much as Dr. Rebert.Cruise:
Philip refuses to believe that Claire has left the boat. Philip refuses to believe that Shawn and Belle took the missing life raft but demands that Stratton search the ocean or risk losing his job. Stratton leaves. Willow walks up to ask for an update and Philip blames her for Shawn and Belle jumping overboard. Willow wishes the news wasn't true. Philip yells at Willow for helping them escape and Willow apologizes. Philip doesn't want to hear an apology now. Willow tries to explain that she never expected Shawn and Belle to do something so drastic but Philip is so angry he pushes Willow. Willow fights back by kneeing Philip and pinning him on the bed. Willow lets up and Philip pushes her back onto the couch. Willow gets right back up and yells at Philip for being the reason she didn't rat out Shawn and Belle. Philip starts to threaten Willow but she stands up to him, vowing to always play rougher.Chez Rouge:
Dr. Rebert runs down a list of personnel and their character flaws for Chelsea. Dr. Rebert refers to a skinny doctor as a letch and Chelsea purposefully badmouths "geeky" doctors loud enough for Nick to overhear. Dr. Rebert jokes about buying Nick a life and asks about Nick's crush on Chelsea. Chelsea returns the conversation back to hospital personnel and then loudly refers to how Dr. Rebert is so much nicer than Nick. Dr. Rebert surprises Chelsea when he admits to having been hurt by women in the past. Chelsea insists on hearing the details but Dr. Rebert spins the topic so he can flirt some more. Nick orders a beer and the bartender recognizes him as Maggie's nephew. The bartender's comment about Nick not needing ID gives Nick the idea to get Chelsea in trouble with Maggie for drinking underage. Maggie rushes over to the table, grabs the wine glass out of Chelsea's hand and explains to Dr. Rebert that his date is underage. Chelsea casts an annoyed glance at Nick.Hotel:
Marlena tries to talk Kayla out of going after Steve. Kayla hoped Marlena of all people would understand her situation. Marlena insists that she does understand but warns that Steve belongs to the DiMeras now.Hospital:
Steve hears EJ's order echo in his head. Steve ducks into the janitor's closet and dons a set of scrubs. Marlena's words of warning about Steve doing the DiMera's bidding is heard over the sight of Steve getting into disguise.Hotel:
Kayla is still determined to find Steve. Marlena warns that Steve's only focus right now is to complete his mission.Hospital:
Steve punches a code in the keypad lock on John's door before closing it behind him. Kayla's voice is overheard talking about not losing Steve again. Marlena's voice cautions that Kayla can't save Steve either as Steve approaches John's bedside.Hotel:
Kayla feels that she is strong enough to help Steve and heads for the door. She refuses Marlena's renewed efforts to convince Kayla to call Roman. Marlena starts to mention a quote from John but stops herself. Kayla demands to know what John said about Steve. Marlena tells Kayla about seeing John in a dream. Kayla recalls that Bo told her about the dream.Hospital:
Marlena's voice is overheard sharing her theory that Steve has been programmed to kill as Steve hovers over John.Chez Rouge:
Maggie offers to treat Chelsea to a glass of champagne on her 21st birthday to make up for snatching the wine away tonight. Dr. Rebert tries to schmooze Maggie by offering to oversee Chelsea's reaction to consuming the wine but Maggie identifies herself as the restaurant owner and boldly tells Dr. Rebert to leave with Chelsea. Dr. Rebert tries to salvage the moment by offering to take Chelsea to his place for wine and steak. Maggie quips about only needing to buy Chelsea a happy meal before walking away with the wine. Chelsea watches Nick and Maggie high five each other. Dr. Rebert steps away to get the car and Chelsea decides to use the time to confront Nick.Cruise:
Willow offers to work together but Philip only insults her. Willow starts to walk away until the boat is mildly rocked as a result of the anchor being dropped. Philip tells Willow that he never wants to see her again. Willow balks about Philip backing out of their deal but Philip claims he no longer cares about the baby. Stratton returns to the cabin to report that part of the life raft was found in the water but it was slashed to ribbons.Island:
Belle discovers Shawn unconscious on the beach. She is able to wake him and he is glad to see Belle is safe. Shawn asks about Claire but Belle becomes hysterical as she tells Shawn that the current was too strong to hold onto Claire. Shawn rocks Belle to soothe her. Belle explains to Shawn that she had to let Claire go when they got caught in a riptide. Belle sobs as Shawn assures her that they will search for Claire.Cruise:
Philip wants Stratton to call in the Coast Guard and search the nearby islands but Stratton feels that it's too late. Philip refuses to believe that Claire is dead and rushes out to find her.Chez Rouge:
Maggie laughs with Nick over making a fool of Chelsea and Dr. Rebert. Chelsea confronts them and though Nick pretends that he's shocked to find Chelsea at the restaurant, Chelsea still calls him a spiteful jerk.Hotel:
Marlena insists that John really came to her even though it was a dream. Kayla refuses to believe that John is right about Steve. Kayla refuses to believe Marlena's warning that the Steve she loves is gone. Marlena warns that Steve will be blamed for whatever he does.Hospital:
Marlena's voice is heard telling Kayla that she expects Steve to be instructed to commit murder as Steve takes John off the ventilator.Cruise:
Philip is now on deck scanning the water with binoculars. Willow walks up trying to make amends. Philip dismisses her apology and warns her to leave before he does something he can't take back.Island:
Belle becomes frantic when her search for Claire comes up empty. Belle drops to her knees and sobs. Shawn was able to find Claire safe and sound and brings her back to Belle. Shawn digs out the baby food for Claire. Belle realizes that Claire's finger is bleeding.Hotel:
Marlena tries to downplay Steve being committed should the police find him but Kayla is adamantly against the idea. Marlena warns that Steve will hate it more if he wakes up from the psychosis to learn he killed someone. Kayla refuses to believe in that possibility because she sees it as betraying Steve. Marlena uses her own torture by the DiMeras to entice Kayla to save the innocent person that will be hurt by Steve.Hospital:
Steve puts the blanket over John's head after transferring his body to a stretcher.Chez Rouge:
Chelsea yells at Nick for messing up her date. Maggie chastises Chelsea for being loud enough to cause a commotion. Maggie steps away. Chelsea lowers her voice before arguing with Nick about how Dr. Rebert is so much better than Nick. Nick admits to being jealous but insists that he's really there to save her from Dr. Rebert's seducing ways. Chelsea doesn't believe him. Dr. Rebert walks up and Chelsea heads for the car. Nick warns Dr. Rebert that Chelsea isn't sophisticated. Dr. Rebert gloats that he put up with Chelsea's adolescent babbling because he likes that she is naive. Nick lunges at Dr. Rebert but Dr. Rebert punches him in the stomach. Dr. Rebert walks away.Hospital:
Steve pulls the fire alarm to get two nurses to leave the nurses' desk just outside John's room.Hotel:
Kayla wishes there was another way to help Steve. Kayla recalls how she could tell something was wrong when he came back from the dead but laments that she hasn't been able to reach him. Marlena points out that if Kayla hadn't reached Steve, he wouldn't still be fighting against the demons in his mind. Marlena uses having to tell Stephanie that her dad was committed is better than telling Stephanie that her dad killed someone to help convince Kayla.Hospital:
Steve wheels John out of his room but the bright lights of the fire alarm make him flashback to being tortured. Steve's now out of breath and unable to move the stretcher.Cruise:
Stratton brings the captain to see Philip. Philip demands that the search for Claire resume but the captain refuses convinced that Claire is dead. The captain has spotted the blood on the raft and is convinced that it's a sign of Claire's demise.Island:
Claire's finger is now bandaged but Belle worries that it won't stop bleeding. Shawn tries to calm Belle's fears but Belle starts to worry that Claire was cut by something rusty. Shawn realizes that he still had his knife in his hand when he jumped with Claire in his arms. Belle assures him he isn't to be blamed. Belle holds Claire close as Shawn wonders how they can expect to survive living on the deserted island.Cruise:
Philip refuses to believe that the blood on the raft belonged to Claire. The captain explains that they flew the sample to a forensics lab in Sydney to verify. The captain claims that they've done all they can so Philip punches him. Stratton holds Philip back as Philip vows to make the captain pay if Claire is dead. The captain and Stratton leave. Willow returns and offers to help make Shawn pay. Philip claims Willow has nothing he wants but Willow insists she owes Philip and must pay back her debts. Philip glares at her so Willow walks away. Philip resumes scanning the water with binoculars.Island:
Claire continues to fuss and Belle worries that Claire is getting too cold. Shawn tries to start a fire.Chez Rouge:
Maggie returns with Dr. Rebert's bill but Nick informs her that Dr. Rebert has already left. Maggie notices that Nick is still bent over in pain and he blames it on Dr. Rebert. Maggie offers to call Mickey but Nick wants to accept defeat. Maggie advises Nick to fight for Chelsea.Dr. Rebert's car:
Chelsea dawdles when getting in the car so Dr. Rebert reaches past her to close her door. Chelsea asks to be taken home but Dr. Rebert insists that they go back to his place. Chelsea turns down his dinner offer but Dr. Rebert puts his hand on Chelsea's thigh.Hospital:
Steve wheels John on to the elevator barely being missed by the returning nurses. The nurses realize that John is gone.Hotel:
Kayla reluctantly agrees to have Steve committed again. Marlena's cell phone ring and it's the hospital alerting her to John being missing. Marlena fills Kayla in and they both rush to the hospital.Hospital:
