At her office, Lily calls that she wants it to happen today. She is buying more stocks in Worldwide. Craig walks in and claps – she is back in the chair where she belongs and Lucinda’s era is out. Lucinda knew there would be collateral damage and did it anyway. Revenge will be sweet. She reminds him that she is all grown up now and that terrifies her mother. She expects her to fly off in a tantrum or hide under the covers. Lily says she is going to see her perfume company and raise her Worldwide. She will get his money back so he can pay off Blackthorn and they will be even and move on with their lives. Lucinda appears in the doorway and wants to know what is going on……and why Craig is even there.

In her kitchen, Carly chastises Jack for jumping the gun and tipping off Blackthorn. She had him exactly where she wanted him. Dusty drops in at the farm and Janet says she is kinda busy as she is packing right now to go away for the weekend with Blackie before the baby is due.

Lucinda says she got a phone call that something unpleasant was happening. Craig accuses her of selling her daughter a bogus perfume factory. Lily tells him to stop; she is more than capable of doing what needs to be done. Lucinda is glad she showed Craig the door. She is sorry that Lily had to be caught in the middle of this. But now he can not hurt her anymore so with every loss comes a good deed. Just tell her everything so she can fix it. Lily says she thinks her mother has done more than enough already.

Janet rails into Dusty for thinking the worse of Blackie. He wonders if this is payback for him being with Lucy. She has left and is out of town. He made a mistake. She admits this is not payback; it’s just about her pampering herself for a short while before the baby is due. She wants him to leave.

Carly tells Jack that a girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do. Blackie had a soft spot for her. He tells her that she can do whatever she puts her mind to, but now she will have to do it alone without Lily. They are about to get romantic when Dusty pops in and tells Jack that Janet is going away with Blackie. Dusty is surprised to hear that Jack would actually allow Carly to be put in harm’s way by wearing a wire to try and catch the goods on Blackie. She says she wasn’t and this is personal for her too. Dusty is also surprised to hear that Janet was there. She was the one, according to Carly, that tipped Blackie off that she wasn’t the reporter she claimed to be. She tells Dusty that she thinks Janet knows exactly why she is going away with Blackie. Jack says he shouldn’t be so surprised. After all Janet found out he slept with Lucy, so good luck with getting over that. Jack says that he is not too keen on Janet going away with Blackie so why don’t they focus on trying to put him away first and get him out of Janet’s life. Carly tells him on the sting she managed to pick Blackie’s pocket and found this St. Carmelo medallion. Dusty takes it to show it around. He says he has sources that don’t deal with cops. If he hears anything, he will keep them in the loop.

Blackie calls Janet from Old Town and says he picked them up a lot of snack for the road. She sounds a little down. She denies it; says she is good, just been a long morning. She was hoping she and Jr. could take a little nap before they left. He quips that she can take a quickie and then she can sleep for three days straight when they check in if she likes.

At Metro, Johnny asks Teri if his dad is going to the lake with them. She tells him no, he has to work. Dusty says he has to hold down the fort while they go and have fun. He will join them in a few days. Nobody is even going to know where they are. Teri tells Johnny that he is going to be her co-pilot so he needs to go to the kitchen and make sure their lunch is ready. Alone, she asks Dusty why the sudden hurry to get Johnny out of town. The lake sounds wonderful but she knows something is up and he better spill fast. He pulls out the medallion and asks if she knows anything about it. She looks and says yeah, her dad had one just like it.

Craig stops a bar to have a drink. The young bartender asks if it isn’t a little early for him. Craig says unfortunately it may be too late. He asks the young man if he thinks he is an attractive man. The young man returns that it isn’t that kind of bar. Craig says he knows; he meant attractive to a woman. He admits he is not a kid anymore and his six-pack is more like a two…..or a four on a good day, but the point is…… a woman wouldn’t kick him out of bed. There is this classy, absolutely beautiful, sexy woman. He’s known this woman for years and now all of a sudden she is taking his breath away. And he knows she is attracted to him too. He thinks they would make an incredible couple if he can just live long enough to pay off his loan. But to do this the woman must be strong and stand up to her mother. Or he’s dead!

Lucinda asks why Lily is so angry; they are on the same side. Lily says no they aren’t and haven’t been in a long time. Lucinda says that is ridiculous. She loves her more than anything in the world and doesn’t know what she is accusing her of. Lily says she tried to destroy Craig. She set him up. He could have lost everything including his own life. So there is no need to lie about it. She knows everything. She knows about Blackthorn, and the bogus perfume factory and using her to get back at Craig. It made no difference to Lucinda that Lily was excited about this and made her feel worthwhile after all that had happened to her the last few years. Lucinda gets up and closes the door. Lily points out that all Lucinda wanted was to see Craig grovel. And she could repair the damage to Lily later with a nice, big, fat check. Lucinda says this is Craig talking, just trying to drive a wedge between them. Lily sneers why even bother; Lucinda has done a pretty good job of that herself. Lucinda still justifies that it is Craig who is seeking revenge. Lily says no; Craig would not do that, but Lucinda would stoop that low. And what she has done is ten times worse than Craig could ever do to her. And Lucinda is her own mother. It takes a certain kind of monster to use her own children as pawns in her own little power games. Lucinda states that she wants to know exactly what lies Craig has been telling her. Lily tells her that she didn’t have to just take Craig’s word; Gabriel backed him up. Lucinda scoffs; it’s more like father, like son. Lily says she didn’t want to think the worse of Lucinda, but Gabriel only confirmed what she already knew. The facts were right in front of her face with Francoise and Blackthorn showing up just when she needed them, but she ignored it all. Lucinda lashes out that it looks like it is all her fault that Craig went to a loan shark. Lily says yes, she set him up. She just wanted to bleed him dry with this phony perfume factory when she knew Craig couldn’t say no. And if Lily’s dreams had to be sacrificed to make that happen, then too damn bad. Lucinda continues to try and talk her way out of it. Lily can do something else only without Craig. He’s devious and would have sucked the life out of her company because he is an unscrupulous businessman with a vendetta against Lucinda. Lily reminds her that it is one that she has earned. Lucinda knows Lily is hurt and Lucinda can accept and respect that, but she will recover. Sometimes a mother has to do things for her daughter. Lily says, “don’t call me that. I am ashamed to be called your daughter.”

Lucinda says she is sorry Lily feels that way as she is very proud to be Lily’s mother. Lily wants to know why. All her life Lucinda has manipulated it and Lily has allowed it. She’s grown up in a shadow trying to be a good girl. Lucinda agrees that Lily is a wonderful, incredible woman who gives her heart to everyone she cares about. She agrees that she tried to bring Craig down. She did not want to see Lily get her hands dirty and get hurt. It was just an unfortunate necessity. Lily snaps back that is what Lucinda tells herself so she can sleep at night. Lucinda rails back that she can sleep at night when Lily gets rid of Craig and gets back with Holden where she belongs. Lily cries that she knows where she belongs. If Lucinda is asking her to choose between her and Craig; she will lose. She will choose Craig. Lucinda abruptly sits down, dejected and tells Lily that he does not mean that. Lucinda points out they have always had their differences, but somehow each time they have managed to regroup and work things out. Okay, she thinks things will be fine. Whatever Lily says….just don’t make any sudden decisions….they can still go to Avalon, have plenty of treatments and relax and then maybe Lily will realize that Lucinda did all she did with Lily’s best interest at heart. Lily tells her they don’t give massages deep enough for that. Lucinda may not be able to see that but she set out to hurt Craig and she has only managed to make him more important to Lily. She says she is going to live her own life now and there is no more room for Lucinda in it. She walks out; Lucinda sinks into her chair again and sobs.

Teri explains to Dusty that the medallion is a symbol of a burial society from the old country that assured everyone a proper grave with a real marker so you wouldn’t end up a number in a potter’s field somewhere. Her pop and Uncle Ralphy were members from way back. Dusty wonders if Blackie is a member. She says no. She has known Blackie her entire life. He is a golden boy, not a criminal. He’s a good guy from the neighborhood who has never done anything close to being dicey. He’s a good guy who looks out for his friends, including her sister. She wants to know if Dusty is jealous because Blackie is now interested in her sister.

Jack confides in Carly that he hopes Dusty has better luck in getting dirt on Blackthorn than they did. She asks why didn’t Jack tell her that Janet found Dusty in bed with Lucy Montgomery. He quips perhaps by the look on her face that he knew she would enjoy it too much. She can’t be enraged for her. To be honest, Janet probably deserved it. Dusty is crazy about her. He bought Janet a house and told her she could live in it without him, no strings attached. That’s how much he loves her. He’s driving himself crazy to make her happy. A man can’t wait forever for the woman he loves to love him back. Jack says, “I ask myself that question every day.”

Dusty surprises Lucinda during her cry. She admonishes him for not knocking. He says he has no time for that. He wants to know everything she can tell him about Anthony Blackthorn. She tells him she has her own problems. She has no time for his love life and wants him to get out. He reminds her that she brought this sleazebag into Janet’s life and now he’s taking her away for the weekend. He thinks he might be connected to the mob. He does know Ralph Manzo and Dusty helped put Manzo in jail and he knows Dusty loves Janet, so he’s worried that Ralph might hurt Janet. Lucinda says she loves his conspiracy theory but maybe Anthony just likes a beautiful woman. Dusty says she is not going out of town without a fight that’s for sure. And if anything happens to her or the baby, he will never forgive Lucinda. She tells him that if he wants to blame anyone for Janet going away with another guy, just take a look in the mirror.

Lily comes up from behind Craig and plops her purse on the counter, picks up his drink and says she did it. She looked her mother in the eye and called her a liar and she is still standing. It turns out that Lucinda is not all-powerful but a lonely woman with too much time on her hands. Craig is surprised that Lily went through with it since he knows Lucinda has a way of turning one’s brain matter into knots. She tells him there was a stunned silence, then a lot of evil Craig, and then she did it for Lily’s own good and then she ended with they can go away together and bond. Craig tells her that she looks good. She says she feels good. Finally she can lead her own life. He gives her a big hug and says he is happy for her. She begins to tear up. She’s wanted to do that for so long, to stand up to her mother but now that she has done it….she realizes she is not that strong. She is pathetic. Craig convinces her otherwise. He says she is magnificent and hugs her again.

Lily laments that she is finally free from the evil spell and she has won, but she wishes she could be happy. Craig says this was a long time in coming but even if Lucinda rides a broomstick, she is still her mother. Lily admits that she wasn’t always this terrible. She wishes she were still Mary Ellen Walters who would not have chosen revenge over family. Craig agrees. Most people when they reinvent themselves they do it for the better. Lucinda always seemed to have it back-assward. She doesn’t know how to stop, but this is a big step for Lily. Lily says she is grateful for everything Lucinda has done for her, but that doesn’t give her the right to control her life. Craig says she just needs to keep telling herself that and she will get used to the idea soon enough. He claims that he can relate as he too has done bad things in the name of his children and didn’t even get to know Gabriel until he was already grown. But no more; this is a fresh start for the both of them. “All debts are paid in full.”

Lucinda hands Blackthorn a big manila envelope full of money. She says just call it severance pay as his services are no longer needed and she gestures that he can leave. He tells her that he leaves when he says he leaves and not before. She doesn’t know why he wants to stick around when Dusty is suspicious. He says Dusty was born suspicious. She says Anthony really doesn’t need Dusty as an enemy; he should be afraid of him. He’s touched; that is special that she cares for him. But he likes it here and isn’t leaving. He’s taking Janet away for the weekend and when he comes back, he just might make Oakdale his permanent residence.

Janet writes a note for Liberty leaving her cell number and the hotel number and a reminder for her to pick the ripe tomatoes. When she opens the drawer to put the pen away, she spies a pix of her and Dusty. She looks at it lovingly, but ends up throwing it in the trash. The horn honks and she goes out.

Dusty turns the medallion over and over and calls and wants to speak to Jack. He tells him the medallion is some Italian burial member thing. He tells him that Rocco Ciccone had one just like it as well as Uncle Ralph. He thinks it sounds like some connected business. If Blackie is in Manzo’s inner circle then he’s up to no good. And there is no time to lose. Janet is going away with Blackie and has no idea who’s she dealing with and she won’t listen to Dusty. He needs Jack’s help. Jack says he has it. Just get on the road and he will be there within the hour, just keep his cell on. Carly tells Jack no, she will not let him do this.

Carly tells Jack that he’s the one who is always telling her not to jump to conclusions. And to keep in mind that Janet is going away with Blackthorn willingly. He says that does not mean that she is not in trouble. He can not let her put herself and the baby in jeopardy like this. She tells Jack that she knows this is not just about Janet and the baby. She saw his face when Dusty mentioned Manzo’s name. She can’t let him go after Blackthorn alone as he is not thinking clearly and that is when bad things happen. He tells her this is not about settling a score, but she’s not sure she believes that. He says Janet has the right to know what sort of man she is getting involved with and if Anthony is connected to Manzo he can not look the other way. She says fine then she will go with him. He says absolutely not. They are partners but he doesn’t need to be worrying about her too. Just do this for him; just this once. He won’t do anything stupid (famous last words). Stay here and hold down the fort. She finally says okay, she hates it but she understands. He better come back to her in one piece or she will be so mad at him. They share a good kiss. She watches him leave.

Dusty has his trunk open and starts to put some luggage in when two guys jump out and overpower him and stuffs him into a black SUV. Craig tells Lily that he just called Blackthorn to tell him he had his money, but he’s going away to Avalon, the same place Lily and Lucinda were going. Lily doubts she is going now. Craig says it will be the perfect excuse to get out of town. They can go together so he can give Blackthorn his money in person and she can get some much needed R&R. It would be a shame to let that room go to waste.

Janet and Anthony arrive at the gorgeous Avalon Castle. It is huge; used to be a house. She says she’s read about this place but never thought she’d ever see it. It’s like a place out of a fairytale. Anthony says she has always been a princess so it’s about time someone treated her like one. Jack comes bounding down the spiral staircase. Janet is surprised and Anthony says it is just harassment. Jack tells him that he is not on the job. He’s here looking for a friend, Dusty Donovan. Janet says he is not coming; he won’t be here. Jack returns upstairs and sees a blonde. She turns around and it’s Carly smiling at him and calling him her G-Man, good to see him.
