Episode #12113 ~ Victor prepares for battle against Billy. Kyle makes a shocking decision.

Kyle: Yeah.

Summer: Sorry to wake you up, but you need to get to work.

Kyle: [ Groans ] You're right you're right.

[ Sighs ] Thanks.

Summer: Sorry, I know you had trouble getting to sleep last night.

Kyle: Did I keep you up?

Summer: No, I don't really know if I could have slept anyway. I mean, publicly claiming paternity is a really, really big deal -- unless you've changed your mind.

Kyle: I don't have a choice. I can't let ashland steamroll tara in a custody battle, and that's exactly what's gonna happen if I don't step up.

Summer: Kyle, I understand, but --

Kyle: I know you're still worried about the risks involved. I'm worried, too. Locke could lash out when he learns harrison is not his biological son. He could attack jabot again, and I might still have to step down as co-ceo. But none of that outweighs the fact that my little boy needs his mom and he needs my protection. I can't turn my back on my son.

Summer: Well, I'm with you. So, I mean, what do we do next? A paternity test?

Kyle: That is on the to-do list. It's not like locke is gonna take our word about harrison's paternity. But before I do anything else, I need to tell my dad what's going on.

Billy: So, why did that engagement party get cancelled last night? I got a text from abby saying it was cancelled.

Jack: Nothing about last night went according to plan. The guests of honor ended up leaving before we even got started.

Billy: What would cause kyle and summer to bail on their own party? I hope there's not trouble in paradise.

Jack: No, no, nothing like that, just something came up. How about you? How are things going with you and lily?

Billy: Things are great with lily. We've decided to look for a place together.

Jack: Whoa.

Billy: Yeah.

Jack: That's a big move. I didn't realize things were that serious between you.

Billy: Well, they have become that serious, you know? When it's right, it's right. She's perfect for me.

Phyllis: Am I losing a guest?

Lily: Oh. [ Chuckles ] Yeah, I'm afraid you might be.

Phyllis: Oh, you're looking for a new place.

Lily: Yeah, I think I'm just ready for something more permanent, you know? I miss cooking for myself.

Phyllis: Mm, I can't relate to that.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Phyllis: Well, I'm sorry to lose you.

Lily: Aw, thanks. Honestly, this hotel's been great. You should be really proud of what you've done here.

Phyllis: I am. Thank you very much. I see you're looking for a place maybe on chestnut.

Lily: Yeah.

Phyllis: Ah. I used to live there for a few years. And while I was there, it was fantastic. See ya.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ]

[ Door opens ]

[ Gasps ] Hi. I am so glad to see you.

Chloe: I've missed you. I still can't quite believe this.

Chelsea: Mm. How do you think I feel?

Chloe: My heart is breaking for you that you're here. I mean, you were finally so close to what you wanted -- freedom from your health issues, freedom from adam.

Chelsea: Well, I'm still gonna get everything I want. I'm not gonna be in here for long.

Chloe: Well, I hope not.

Chelsea: No, I'm serious, I'm gonna get out of this hospital soon.

Chloe: What do you mean?

Chelsea: I'm not crazy.

Chloe: Wait, are you saying that you pretended to need psychiatric care to stay out of prison?

Chelsea: You don't have to whisper, it's safe to talk freely here.

Chloe: Chelsea, I don't know what to say.

Chelsea: Well, I'm doing what I have to do.

Chloe: Okay.

Chelsea: The question is, what do you plan to do when the police start questioning you and harassing you?

Chloe: Well, rey found me last night and he asked me what you've been up to.

Chelsea: And?

Chloe: Well, I denied everything.

Chelsea: Okay, good. Rey came to see me last night, too. It was actually a nice conversation.

Chloe: Wait, he came here to the hospital to hound you? No, that's -- that's not okay. We have to get in touch with your lawyer and make them put a stop to that.

Chelsea: No, no, no, no. I asked him to come.

Chloe: Why would you do that? What did you say to him?

Rey: Chelsea came across as remorseful, but who knows? She could just be looking ahead at her sentencing, playing on my sympathies, hoping that I won't tell the judge to throw the book at her.

Sharon: I wouldn't put that past her. Chelsea was raised from a young age to be a con artist. She can easily glide between reality and pretense.

Rey: I was thinking about that. Wondering if she's lost the ability to tell the difference -- like she did with the delusions of you and adam having an affair right under her nose.

Sharon: I don't buy that chelsea ever believed that. I mean, I can't prove it, but i suspect that she invented that story to rile you up, make you blame adam and make her look like a victim in your eyes.

Rey: I don't know, sharon. You didn't see her in that moment. I mean, she completely lost her mind with paranoia and jealousy.

Sharon: Well, maybe you're right. I wasn't there.

Rey: Look, I'm just trying to consider the possibilities. If this was a calculated move on chelsea's part, then it raises a lot of questions about the rest of what she said. Nope

Chelsea: I needed to explain to rey why I did what I did. I needed to tell him that adam drove me to do it, that he literally drove me out of my mind.

Chloe: Okay. So, it was strategic on your part, to convince rey that you belonged in the hospital, not in prison?

Chelsea: Exactly.

Chloe: Well, I hope it worked. But maybe next time, it's a good idea for you to stay away from the police, in particular the detective that you poisoned. Kevin says that he's really good at his job. So even if you make the slightest slip, he might catch on.

Chelsea: What else did kevin have to say? How much have you told him?

Chloe: I told him everything.

Chelsea: What?! No! Why the hell would you confide in him?!

Chloe: Chelsea, he's my husband, I couldn't lie to him. I trust him with my life. He has stood by me through all of the awful things that I have done. Plus, he already suspected that I was involved.

Chelsea: But you weren't in any trouble. And I would never implicate you, ever.

Chloe: Well, I'm really relieved to hear that because I've been afraid that you might say the wrong thing to the wrong person.

Chelsea: It's not gonna happen. I would never let you take the blame. You haven't done anything wrong. All you've done is you've been an incredible friend to me when I really needed one.

Chloe: And I'm here for you. I'm here for you no matter what.

Rey: I mean, it's possible that chelsea's entire confession was a manipulation. I mean, she could have been teeing up a temporary insanity plea, and all that ranting and raving was a performance.

Sharon: You could be onto something.

Rey: I'm gonna have to talk to her doctor, see what he says.

Sharon: Do you have to do that?

Rey: Why wouldn't I?

Sharon: Well, your job was to find out who poisoned you, and you've done that. Couldn't someone else tie up the loose ends? I'm just ready to put this behind us and move forward.

Rey: I know. I am, too, but that can't happen until there's some accountability. I mean, if chelsea's faking insanity to duck a prison sentence, the police and the D.A.'S office need to find that out.

Sharon: Well, I don't disagree with you. I just think it might be better if some other detective took over the assignment -- I mean, for our own peace of mind.

Rey: What exactly are you worried about?

Sharon: Well, I think about everything we've been through because of chelsea's twisted games. What if she comes up with more fantasies about adam and me?

Rey: Look, I know that chelsea's accusations momentarily shook my faith in you and our marriage, but I was wrong. That's never gonna happen again.

Sharon: I trust you. I just don't think that you need to put yourself in a position where you're obsessing about adam when you don't have to. Wouldn't you rather let all of that go?

Victoria: Oh, nina. Hi.

Nina: Hi.

Victoria: Abby told me that you were staying with her.

Nina: Yeah, we're kind of just keeping each other company while chance is away.

Victoria: Is everything going well with the pregnancy?

Nina: Yes, mariah is doing great and abby is doing everything she can to support her.

Victoria: That's great. I've been meaning to have lunch with her and catch up. It's just there's been so much going on lately.

Nina: Yeah, she's been filling me in on everything that's going on with faith.

Victoria: Thank god the transplant seems to be a success.

Nina: The whole situation reminds me of when chance donated part of his liver to ronan to save his life. The son I raised coming through for his half-brother who he barely knew or even really liked.

Victoria: Well, trust me, that's the one and only thing that chance has in common with adam.

Kyle: Hi.

Tara: Hey. I just wanted to see how you feel this morning. Make sure that you aren't having second thoughts about claiming paternity after sleeping on it.

Kyle: No, I'm committed to going through with this. I'm gonna take a paternity test and hire an attorney, but I hope you realize it's gonna take more than that to solve your problems. Ashland has always believed he was harrison's father, and he's played that role, so that could give him some legal ground to stand on.

Tara: I know he could still fight me on it, but as the biological parent, I'll have the upper hand.

Kyle: Yeah, well, do you think it's a possibility that he might lose interest in harrison once he finds out he's not his kid?

Tara: I don't think so. I mean, ashland really does love him, so I can't see him just walking away. And I don't think if I'd want that for him completely because it would break my heart to think about how that would make my son feel.

Kyle: Okay, how much does harrison know about what's going on?

Tara: For now, he just thinks we're on a trip. He doesn't realize that ashland and I have separated.

Kyle: Well, I was thinking it could help prepare him for what's to come if he starts to get to know me a little better.

Tara: Yeah, I agree with you. That sounds like a good idea. I could bring him by if you want. Actually, I need to run out and get some of his favorite snacks and things, and I'd love to do that quickly now, if now would be good?

Kyle: Okay. I can do that.

Tara: Great. I'm gonna go get him.

Kyle: Alright.

Adam: To what do I owe this pleasure?

Phyllis: I know you're happy to see me.

Adam: Hmm. Let me guess, you're stopping by to wish me well, check on me.

Phyllis: Not really checking on you. I'm warning you.

Adam: About what?

Phyllis: Nick seems to think that you have the capacity to change. I, of course, know you do not. So I'm just here to warn you if you take advantage of nick's goodwill and screw him over in any way, I will find you and i will come down on you like a sledgehammer. Do you understand?

Adam: [ Chuckles ] I think so. You're not exactly subtle. Are you tired of clean clothes that just don't smell clean?

Rey: I can't just hand over the investigation to someone else. But the good news is, is that the end is in sight. Chelsea's psychiatrist is gonna submit his assessment of her mental health, and michael will charge her with attempted murder, and then the D.A.'S office will officially have the case.

Sharon: Well, I'm glad to hear that your part in this is nearly over.

Rey: Look, I'm just as eager as you to get past all this ugliness and focus on how lucky we are to have each other.

Adam: My brother's lucky to have someone so protective and loyal in his corner.

Phyllis: That sounds like a compliment, I'm not sure. Listen, adam, come on, I know what you're about.

Adam: Well, because you've been in my position, you've had to fight and claw your way back to respectability.

Phyllis: Yes, I did that.

Adam: But aren't there some people that still will never trust you, no matter how much you try to prove yourself?

Phyllis: [ Sighs ] I don't know what you're talking about, and don't compare yourself to me.

Adam: All I'm saying is I've resigned myself to the fact that some people, including you, think I'm a lost cause, but my father, he doesn't see it that way, and neither does my brother. So, I'm actually shocked that he's willing to give me another chance.

Phyllis: Yeah, that makes two of us.

Adam: Look, I know that nothing I say to you will change your opinion of me, but I don't want to harm him or anyone else in my family. All that I'm looking for is a fresh start.

Phyllis: Yeah, yeah, and you have gotten a fresh start, haven't you? You saved faith's life again. There are a lot of people who are watching you right now. Lot of eyes are on you, waiting for you to screw up, and when you do...

Adam: You, or whoever else, will drop the hammer down. Yeah, I got it.

Phyllis: I'm glad you do. My work is done here.

Tara: I won't be long, I'm just gonna slip in and out. I'd have the nanny go, but it's quicker if I do it myself. Harrison only needs to stay as long as it's comfortable for both of you. The nanny's in my suite whenever he wants to go back. Bye, sweetheart.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] I like your stuffed animal. I used to have one kind of like that when I was a kid. I remember bringing it everywhere with me, especially on trips with my mom. We used to travel a lot, like your mom and you. We had a lot of fun. She could be silly and funny. She made me laugh a lot.

[ Chuckles ] Is your mom ever like that? It's the best, right? Moms are pretty cool like that.

Ashland: Hello, tara.

Billy: Ah. So, any new thoughts on the buildings we're considering?

Lily: Yes, I think I'm leaning towards the condo on chestnut street. What do you think?

Billy: That's great. I love that building. It's very, very charming. It's got those really cute little shops and cafés, a beautiful park at the end of the street. I think we would be very happy there. And I'm glad we're on the same wavelength.

Lily: Yeah, me too.

Billy: There is one thing i should probably tell you. There's a reason why I'm familiar with that building.

Lily: Because you lived there with phyllis.

Billy: I guess there's no reason to tell you what you already know.

Lily: I just don't know why you didn't tell me earlier.

Billy: I didn't want it to cloud your judgment on that building, you know? Just because of my ancient history with phyllis.

Lily: Well, I think it's less ancient history and more just relevant information.

Billy: Okay, well, I guess i didn't think it was all that relevant. I mean, we wouldn't be living in the same unit, and I didn't want to rule out that building just i lived there in the past with someone else.

Lily: Well, I mean, I know that makes sense logically, but what about emotionally? I mean, isn't it weird? Aren't you gonna maybe have memories come flooding back to you every time you walk through the lobby?

Billy: No. No, no. Believe me, once I walk into that lobby, the only thing I'm gonna be thinking about is coming home to you.

Lily: Well, thank you. That's very sweet, but I don't know, I still feel kind of weird about it.

Billy: Okay. Why don't we do this? Why don't we set up a little test run? We'll go to the condo, we'll have some takeout, set up a little picnic, and if it feels good, then great. And if it doesn't and you're still not comfortable, then we'll cross it off the list and we'll find something else. Hmm?

Lily: Okay, that sounds good.

Billy: Okay, good.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Nina: All I know is that chance and adam were friends for a while, and then they had a falling out.

Victoria: Well, nobody in town understood the relationship. I'm just really glad that chance finally saw adam for who he really is.

Nina: So, even though he came through for your niece, you're not gonna cut him any slack?

Victoria: No, not at all. It was one good deed. That doesn't make up for everything else that he's done. I just wish that my father would realize that.

Nina: Yeah, I read that victor was launching a new company with adam. I take it you disapprove.

Victoria: Well, damn right i do. He didn't like that I want to run newman enterprises the way that I see fit instead of doing whatever he told me to do, so he turned to his son who has done nothing but let him down and betray him.

Nina: Well, now that victor's leaving you alone to run newman enterprises, I mean, haven't you pretty much gotten what you wanted?

Victoria: What I want is adam away from our family. I had a small glimmer of hope that that was gonna happen when he went on the run, that we would never see him again, but now he's back to help faith, which I am grateful for.

[ Clears throat ] But now we're stuck with him. Oh, uh, I think my order's ready. I hope that chance comes home soon.

Nina: Thank you. Me too.

Victoria: See ya later.

Nina: See ya.

Summer: Hey, I thought you'd be here by now. Did you fall back asleep?

Kyle: Actually, tara stopped by before I left, and I ended up spending a little one-on-one time with harrison.

Summer: Oh, wow. Um, okay, how'd that go?

Kyle: Well, I was a little nervous at first. Like, what do I say to him?

[ Chuckles ] But it ended up being pretty easy and natural. And he's a sweet little guy.

Summer: That's good. Sounds like you guys hit it off.

Kyle: I think so, though i hope he didn't pick up on my anxiety as I walked him back to his suite. I couldn't help but look over my shoulder for locke, and I don't want tara and harrison to have to do the same. I've got to get them out of this hotel.

Summer: I mean, maybe you could get them a suite at the gcac?

Kyle: I was thinking I could ask my dad if they could move in to the house.

Summer: Okay. Yeah, that's an option. I mean, kyle, you haven't even told your dad that he has a grandson yet.

Kyle: I could do both at the same time.

Summer: Do you really think that's the best idea?

Kyle: I'm sensing you have some reservations about this.

Summer: No, I ju-- kyle, everything's just moving so fast. I feel like I can't keep up. Hi, jack.

Kyle: I'm on my way to tell him now. Let's talk afterwards.

Summer: Okay. Uh, that was your son.

Tara: What are you doing here?

Ashland: What do you think? I'm here to see my son. Now take me to him right now.

Tara: We have a lot of things to work out before that can happen.

Ashland: You have kidnapped my boy and are using him as a bargaining chip.

Tara: I'm doing no such thing. But I'm gonna need some assurances that if I let you see him, you're not gonna grab him and run.

Ashland: Which is exactly what you've done.

Tara: You gave me no choice.

Ashland: No choice? You've had every choice in the world -- because of the life i gave you -- and it still wasn't enough.

Tara: If you think living with you is some kind of fairytale --

Phyllis: Um, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. What is going on here?

Ashland: It's a private matter.

Phyllis: Well, then do it in private and not in my hotel lobby.

Ashland: Fine. We'll go up to my wife's suite.

Tara: No.

Phyllis: I'm gonna have to ask you to leave again. Please, now. That feeling when

Tara: I'm not the one that wants out of our marriage.

Ashland: I don't want you anymore. I've already filed for divorce, and my attorneys submitted the paperwork this morning.

Tara: You're crazy if you thought for one minute I'd abandon my child.

Phyllis: Okay, excuse me, please. Are you going to leave of your own volition or do I have to call security?

Ashland: My attorneys will be in touch.

Tara: [ Sighs ] Thank you so much.

Phyllis: I didn't do that for you. I did that for my daughter. If I find out that you are a threat to my daughter in any way, you do not count on me to be your ally, got it?

Tara: Makes sense. Mothers will do anything to protect their children.

Phyllis: Yes, we will.

Summer: Kyle's running a little late this morning, but he's on his way and he wants to talk to you when he gets here.

Jack: Well, I hope that means he's finally ready to fill me in on what happened last night and tell me what I can do to help.

Summer: Uh, yeah, no, I'm just gonna let kyle explain everything to you.

Jack: I would like to know that you're okay. That'd be a pretty big disappointment to have to cut your own engagement party short.

Summer: Oh, I just feel bad that, you know, you went to all that trouble, so...

Jack: It was a labor of love. We can reschedule it any date that works for you.

Summer: Yeah, no, I'm sure we'll figure something out, right?

Jack: Summer, I am here to support you and kyle, no matter what.

Summer: Thank you, jack. I really appreciate that. Bye.

Nick: Hey, congratulations.

Sharon: On what?

Nick: Faith told me rey moved back home. I'm happy for you guys.

Sharon: Oh, thanks.

Nick: I can tell how happy you are just by looking at you.

Sharon: I can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep. It's been so long, and it's just nice to not have to worry about everything -- faith, my marriage.

Nick: Yeah, I'm glad.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

[ Sighs ] Uh, to be fair to rey, I can understand why it took him so long to get over the fact that you were protecting this person that he thought poisoned him. Obviously, it turned out to be chelsea, and I still cannot believe she could do something like that.

Sharon: Well, I am aware that everyone felt it was easier to think that adam was the culprit, and chelsea took advantage of that, but now adam will have the chance to build a new life and hopefully healthy relationships with his family. I mean, I'm not saying every member of the family.

Nick: Yeah. I'm all for it. I would like to believe that adam is gonna make the most of this moment and turn things around.

Victoria: [ Scoffs ] Please don't tell me that you're falling for adam's mind games, too. Especially when you're the one who tells me that I'm too much like dad.

Victor: Ashland, there you are.

Ashland: Well, thank you for agreeing to meet me, gentlemen.

Adam: You bet.

Victor: You're looking damn well after the heart attack. Glad to see that.

Ashland: Well, I'm a survivor.

Victor: Yeah.

Ashland: And I have no hard feelings about your let's say hardball tactics during the signing of our deal. You know, if the roles were reversed, I'd have done the same damn thing.

Victor: [ Chuckles ] So glad we understand each other.

Ashland: I understand you've been in the hospital recently as well.

Adam: Yeah, it's -- it's a long story.

Ashland: Mm. Emotional wounds that we endure in this life are oftentimes more severe than anything we suffer physically, aren't they? I hear your fiancée framed you for attempted murder. Now, that's a hell of a thing.

Adam: It, uh, came as a shock, to be sure.

Ashland: Sometimes that's the way relationships go. You don't see it coming until it's too late.

Victor: Very sorry to hear that you're getting a divorce, ashland. The end of a marriage is always a very tough thing.

Ashland: You know, I suppose looking back, it's long overdue. My only concern right now is for my son.

Victor: Hmm.

Adam: Yeah, I'm still trying to wade through what to do about the chelsea situation with connor. He's in boarding school, and i haven't told him yet that his mother isn't well.

Ashland: At least she's getting the help she needs. And with her in a mental hospital, you don't have to worry about a battle for custody. I'm anticipating a knock-down, drag-out battle with tara.

Billy: Ooh, can't say I like the looks of this. Hey, gentlemen. Enjoying a little coffee, discussing the demise of chanccomm, are we?

Adam: Not everything's about you, billy.

Billy: Hmm. Well, either way, I'm fine. I'm not worried.

Ashland: Why would you be? Got a solid company. No doubt it can withstand a little competition -- healthy competition.

Billy: Yeah, appreciate that, but I don't think I would classify anything healthy that comes out of that mind. But, yes, you're right, I do believe that chanccomm's gonna be fine. We'll handle whatever cyaxares dishes out.

Victor: Well, billy, for your information, we're in the process of changing the name of the company.

Ashland: Really? That's news to me.

Billy: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, well, get used to that. I wouldn't be surprised if the mission is changed as well, 'cause the only reason why this company exists is so victor's failure of a son can have one more shot at doing something good.

Adam: That's a little harsh, considering your mommy plucked you out of the gutter and put you on the throne at chanccomm. But I guess we're gonna have to see which one of us is able to justify our parents' faith in us.

Billy: I guess so.

Victor: For your information, billy boy, the name of the company will be newman media.

Billy: [ Chuckles ] Oh, that's adorable. I'm sure victoria's gonna love that. Excuse me.

Ashland: I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this all plays out. It's a good thing that I've got a lot on my mind, or else I'd balk at the fact that you changed the name of the company I built, that I'm still on the board of.

Victor: Would you have fought us on it?

Ashland: Probably not. Capitalizing on your family name is a -- is a good idea.

Victor: Adam and I intend to obliterate chanccomm and fold the pitiful rest of it into our company.

Ashland: Hmm. I like your agenda and your confidence in it.

Victor: Just so you know, this is not a game to us. This is a war. Long time in coming.

Chloe: It looks like you're getting tired, and I should probably get home to the baby.

Chelsea: Oh, god, what i would give to be able to see my baby right now.

Chloe: I know. I'm so sorry.

Chelsea: Can you try to find out what's going on with him? Because I have no idea. I mean, it's possible that, at this point, victor's taken him out of school, maybe. Adam could've violated the restraining order. Maybe adam brought him home and he's saying all of these awful things about me. I mean, what if my son hates me, chloe?

Chloe: Adam would never be able to turn connor against you. You two have an incredibly strong bond. But I will do my best to find out where he is. Okay, and I promise, I will tell him that his mother is always thinking about him.

Chelsea: I just already lost so much. I just don't think --

[ Sighs ] I don't think I could bear losing him.

Chloe: I will let you know what I find out, no matter what. Okay, and I'll come back as soon as I can. I promise.

Chelsea: Chloe. Thank you for being such a good friend to me despite everything.

[ Sighs ]

Victoria: How's faith?

Nick: Great, her recovery's going very well.

Victoria: That's good. I'm glad to hear it. Look, I know you're grateful to adam for donating his kidney, and I am too, of course. But that doesn't mean that I'm gonna put blinders on where he's concerned. I haven't forgotten what he's capable of. Don't tell me that you have.

Nick: Of course not, okay? But I'd like to believe there's a difference between having blinders on and keeping an open mind. And it's possible -- it's not a guarantee by any stretch, though -- that adam is willing to take things in a different direction. And after everything he's done for my daughter, I'm willing to give him a chance to prove it.

Victoria: Okay.

Nick: I'm also willing to allow my big sister to call me naive.

Victoria: I didn't say that, and I'm not thinking it, but i do think that deep down, you and I both know that adam's attempts to rehabilitate his life are doomed for failure.

Nick: Maybe it'll be different this time. In part, because adam has dad right there by his side, doing everything he can to keep him on the right track.

Victoria: Come on, nick. We both know how that's gonna end. Eventually, they're gonna tear each other apart. Plaque psoriasis, the tightness, stinging...

Lily: Welcome.

Billy: Wow.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Lily: Yeah, that's the point, right? Test it out, see if it feels like home.

Billy: Feels good. What do you think?

Lily: Um, I don't know yet. What do you think? Are you envisioning phyllis walking down the stairs?

Billy: Who is this phyllis person you speak of?

Lily: Oh, ha-ha.

Billy: You do remember this is a different unit.

Lily: Yes, yes, I know, yeah.

Billy: You know what? In order to really test the theory, I think we should get a little more comfortable.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Okay.

Billy: You come over here.

Lily: Oh. Ooh.

Billy: Yeah. This feels like home.

Lily: What, the condo?

Billy: Anywhere with you.

Lily: Aww.

Nick: Look, I get why you don't have much hope that adam's gonna be able to redeem himself. Up until very recently, i wouldn't given a second though either.

Victoria: Because he saved faith's life.

Nick: He saved her twice, and I'd like to think that that gift, that sacrifice that he made came from someplace genuine. And it might be strong enough to build a foundation on.

Victoria: Well, you see cement, and I see quicksand.

Nick: Look, I could be wrong.

Victoria: And if you are, the consequences are gonna be more severe than disappointment. When adam goes off the rails, people get hurt. Their lives are devastated. I mean, just look at chelsea. He broke her heart and her mind.

Nick: It almost sounds like you feel sorry for her.

Victoria: She had plenty of warning. She knew what she was dealing with. She shouldn't have expected anything different than what she got. It's a shame what happened to her.

Nick: Yeah. Well, I'm not chelsea and I'm not dad and I'm certainly not this huge fan of adam. But I'm hopeful. Can you give me that?

Victoria: I wish I could. But you're letting your guard down and you know better than that.

Jack: Hey, there you are. Close the door. Hey, I'm concerned about you. I saw summer. She tried to reassure me, but it was pretty clear this situation with tara has her concerned. I hope you're ready to tell me the whole story now.

Kyle: I am. When you were guessing if locke found out about the affair, you were right. He kicked tara out. They're getting a divorce.

Jack: Okay, I guess that isn't too big a surprise, but why did she come to town? Is she warning you or something? Is locke gonna retaliate against you or jabot?

Kyle: I don't know, but there's an even bigger issue we have to deal with now. He came after tara. He followed her to the grand phoenix and confronted her --

Jack: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down. I understand the situation with locke and tara is uncomfortable, and, yes, I agree, she probably needs a lawyer, if not a restraining order, but why is she involving you? Wouldn't that make the situation more volatile? Locke has got to be furious that she turned to you.

Kyle: She didn't really have a choice.

Jack: What does that mean? Kyle, you can tell me anything.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Dad, I...I wanted to handle this on my own, but it's escalated. It's time you know the truth.
