Episode #12103 ~ Victor cuts a deal with Nate to help Faith. Chelsea plots her next move. Lily and Billy take a big step in their relationship.

Victor: My boy, I'm very impressed you pulled this off.

Nick: Thanks, dad.

Nikki: Having the ceiling collapse on you must have been terrifying.

Nick: It was pretty scary. There were some times I wasn't sure we were gonna make it out of there.

Nikki: Oh! Are you in pain?

Nick: You know, I'm alright. I got stitched up. It's fine. The important thing is that adam stepped up to the plate, and he agreed to donate a kidney to faith.

Victor: Let me ask you. How did you convince him to return?

Nick: Wasn't easy.

Victor: And where is he now?

Sharon: Nick? Nick? Nick?

[ Door opens ]

Billy: "Solve all the riddles if you want to find the treasure. Follow the clues, and your reward will be pure pleasure."

[ Chuckles ] "Let the games begin." Well, alright, lily. Let the games begin.

Chelsea: Stop telling me to calm down! Chloe, would you be calm if victor newman threatened to take away your kids? If I don't confess to poisoning rey and setting up adam, victor is going after custody of connor. That can't happen. I can't lose my son!

Chloe: Well, you can't confess, either. You'll end up behind bars, far away from connor.

Chelsea: I have to figure out a way to stop this. Victor wants adam to come back to genoa city.

Chloe: Look -- he won't do that unless he knows he's been vindicated.

Chelsea: What is victor's next move? Has he already reached out to connor? I called connor earlier, and he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Oh, my god! Oh, my god! What if victor's already made his move? What if victor has gotten to connor? Did you know that your toughest cleaning problems

Nick: It took some doing. Adam didn't want to come home. He thought it was a trap.

Nikki: So, what changed his mind?

Nick: I appealed to him as a father. We bonded, uh, over being parents. I made him imagine what it would be like if it were connor who needed help. Adam really misses his kid.

Victor: And that was enough to convince him to go?

Nick: I also promised him that he won't be arrested at the hospital. And, if need be, I will help him escape afterwards.

Victor: And he believed you?

Nick: Adam believes there isn't anything I won't do for my little girl, the same way that adam would do for connor. That we did see eye to eye on.

Victor: Boy, obviously, there's a lot to talk about. But I think we need to focus on the task at hand.

Nikki: Yes, like how soon can faith get the transplant?

Victor: I have a suggestion to make. I think we should get faith out of memorial as soon as we can and fly her and adam to a private clinic, where no one will ask any questions.

Nick: That is the best thing for adam, but for faith, that will add some unnecessary risk.

Nikki: Yeah, I think nicholas is right. Moving her would require time to plan and execute, and her condition could worsen by that time.

Victor: Well, I will obviously do everything in my power to mitigate those risks.

Nikki: We don't even know if adam is a viable candidate yet.

Nick: That's right. We're still waiting for the test results.

Victor: But what I'm saying is, we need to have a plan in place once we get the go-ahead.

Nick: I agree with you, dad, but I'm not taking any chances when it comes to faith's health, not for adam, not for anyone. There's just too many unknowns.

Sharon: Adam, what would you have done if it had been rey coming through that door instead of me?

Adam: Uh, I would have ducked out the back. Trust me. I've had to keep my eyes and ears open all the time for a while now. So, that kind of confrontation is the last thing that I want. But I needed to have a moment alone with you, before we put our plan in motion.

Sharon: So...you're really going through with this.

Adam: Nick is up at the main house now with victor and nikki, working out the details on how to get me in and out of the hospital without the authorities catching on.

Sharon: Adam, I can't thank you enough. And I know you're putting yourself at risk -- and for the second time now -- for my little girl.

Adam: Well, nick told me how dire the situation is for faith and that I might be her only option. So, if I'm a compatible donor, i am glad to do it. But I'm not just doing it for her. I also want to do it for you. My nunormal?

Chelsea: What if victor already has connor?

Chloe: Come on. Chelsea, the headmaster would have contacted you before allowing victor to just swoop in and take connor out of there.

Chelsea: This is victor newman we're talking about, chloe. He can wield his money and power and do whatever he wants!

Chloe: I think that you are overreacting. There are at least a dozen reasons why you wouldn't be able to get in touch with connor right now. After all, he's in school. It's not like he can just pick up the phone and call you.

Chelsea: I wonder if -- if victor's already gone to see him. Maybe he was able to take his phone away or pull him out of the school!

Chloe: Okay, chelsea, you know that that wouldn't happen. I mean, the school wouldn't release him without getting your permission first. Even adam wouldn't be able to pull that off, with the restraining order you have against him.

Chelsea: This is victor, chloe! We both know what he's capable of.

[ Sighs ] I can't just sit here and wait for the worst to happen. I have to do something.

Nick: Look -- I know you're determined to protect adam from getting caught and arrested, but faith's health -- her life -- has to be the priority.

Victor: I couldn't agree more.

Nick: Then, I need you to trust me, just like adam has.

Victor: And, son, I trust you. My only question is, can we trust the doctor who's about to head this operation?

Nikki: Are you talking about nate? He's an excellent doctor. He's a good man. He's been right there with us for more than one family crisis.

Victor: But, sweetheart, that's the point. I've asked him more than once to cross the ethical boundaries. Will he do it again?

Nick: You're talking about when he helped you fake your death to get adam to admit to changing your meds. Nate almost lost his license because of that.

Victor: I'm painfully aware of that, son.

Nick: Then, when adam confessed, you let him off the hook. You welcomed the prodigal psychopath right into the fold.

Victor: Wait a minute. If you feel that way about him, then why are we even doing this?

Nick: I'm just stating the facts, okay? I need adam right now, but i don't have any illusions about who he really is.

Victor: I honestly thought that after your recent experience with him, you changed your mind about adam.

Nick: Yes, okay, I saw a different side of adam in kansas. But do I think he's changed forever? I don't know. I'm not ready to say, "all is forgiven" right now. I may not ever be.

Nikki: Alright, look. This is about faith, and nate has been with her every step of the way through her treatment. I trust him. I trust his judgment. Do either of you feel differently?

Victor: No, I -- I agree with you.

Nick: Same. But it's a valid question. Are we ready to ask nate to take another risk for this family?

Nikki: I think he will help us. He swore an oath to heal, and that is first and foremost for him. He is not going to jeopardize faith's health or future just because adam is a fugitive. Now, if he tells us no, so be it. But I say that we should give him the chance.

Nick: I'm good with that.

Sharon: Can we not talk about this right now?

Adam: Sharon, no. Look. I need to say this to you now, while it's just the two of us. I don't know when that's gonna happen again. Okay, when I was trapped with nick, I had an opportunity to really think, and it's clear to me now that there are many things that are more important than the mess I find myself in and even more important than the past that's been chasing me my entire life.

Sharon: What are you trying to say?

Adam: I've realized that you are a part of me, sharon. And you always will be. There's no denying it. I told myself that I was leaving to protect you, to protect everyone, but... no matter how fast or far away i run, you will always be right there with me. The fact that I'm standing here right now is just further proof of that.

Sharon: No, you're here for faith, nothing more.

Adam: Sharon... just hear me out, okay? Before nick found me, I had a lot of time alone. He only knew where to find me because of you and your insight... into me. You've always understood how my mind works. I mean, even when I had forgotten who I was, and I was living in vegas. And after I learned what I had done to A.J. Montalvo as a kid, you see me, sharon. You see me in a way no one's been able to do... not even chelsea. And I don't expect anything to ever come of it, because I know nothing can come of it.

Billy: Detective. I'm glad I ran into you.

Rey: Yeah? Why is that?

Billy: Well, uh, I came across some interesting news about adam.

Rey: Is that so?

Billy: Yeah. I'm sure you've heard, but nick took the newman jet to go find adam and bring him back. Apparently, he's the only family member with the blood type that can help faith through this crisis. So, it looks like your manhunt might come to an end. Your suspect could fall right back in your lap. But I'm sure you already know that.

Rey: I can't discuss an ongoing investigation.

Billy: Yeah, I promised not to say anything about this, either, because the last thing i would want to do is mess up any chance of faith getting the help that she needs.

Rey: So, why are you talking to me about it?

Billy: Because I feel like you're in the loop, rey, and that I can speak freely with you. Everyone is very worried about faith, including myself. But I also know adam, and he will use any opportunity he can to get off the hook for what he did to you. And I would hate to see that happen.

Rey: So, what are you planning to do about it? Before voltaren arthritis pain gel,

Billy: You don't have to worry. I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. In fact, I'm gonna do everything I can to keep this out of the public, at least until faith is out of the woods.

Rey: Oh, I'm sure the family will appreciate that.

Billy: But the thing is, i don't want to see adam walk -- again, after the damage that he's done to someone. No one wants to see him get nailed more than I do, except maybe yourself. So, you let me know if there's anything I can do or anything my powerful media company can do to make sure that happens.

Rey: Yeah, I appreciate the offer. What's your partner think about you using your chanccomm resources to go after adam again?

Billy: No, no, this is, uh, this is little bit more my story. She's not as interested in this one.

Rey: Oh. You know, I learned a lot about lily when she was interested. When you were accused of shooting chance, she fought like hell.

Billy: She very much did. Yes, she stuck with me. That's for sure.

Rey: She told me how much you had changed, how you pulled your life together, how you let go of your past with adam.

Billy: She was amazing.

Rey: Was?

Billy: She very much still is. In fact, she's got me on a little romantic treasure hunt as we speak.

Rey: Hmm. That's cute. Glad to hear things are going good with the two of you.

Billy: Thank you. And you let me know if there's anything I can do. I want to make sure that adam gets what's coming to him.

Rey: Yeah, don't worry about that. I am highly motivated to make sure that justice is done. But if I may, a little advice. Leave adam to us. The guy's like a black hole, dragging in everything that comes close to him. Don't let him do that to you again. Don't let him create a problem there may be no coming back from.

Adam: I just want you to know that once faith has a new kidney and that I'm strong enough to travel, I'm gonna disappear again. And this time for good, as long as I can count on nick to let me get away.

Sharon: If nick gave you his word, I guarantee you he can be trusted. Nick and rey are both honorable men.

Adam: Well, as soon as this over, I will be out of your life for good. You can finally be free of me and all my baggage. And you and rey, you can go on, and you can live your life together. Isn't that what you want? What is it? Is rey upset that I'm faith's only chance of survival, that you're willing to do whatever it takes to save your daughter? Is he upset because faith will be carrying around a part of me for the rest of her life?

Sharon: I hadn't thought about it like that.

Adam: Oh, well, I'm sure rey has.

Sharon: Look. Um, we need to figure out the plan for getting you to the hospital, assuming that the lab results show that you are a viable donor. Otherwise, all of this is moot. So, can we just deal with that for right now?

Adam: Of course.

Nate: Sharon told me you brought the potential donor back to town, nick. We haven't received the results of the tissue and crossmatch tests yet. So, we don't have confirmation that the donor's compatible. But we should know shortly.

Nikki: We have a situation we need to talk to you about to see if you have reservations about remaining on faith's medical team.

Nate: Why would I?

Victor: Because the potential donor is adam.

Nikki: You have helped our family out before and put your career at risk to do so.

Nick: We know we're asking a lot, but we're desperate, and we don't have any other options. No matter how you may feel about the rest of this family, faith is innocent. So, please do it for her.

Nikki: Nate, we're asking you if you could help us give our granddaughter a chance at a normal life, without being tethered to a dialysis machine. And this is her only chance of avoiding that.

Victor: So, the plan would be to get adam to the hospital, do the transplant surgery, get him out of there as soon as he can travel again without alerting the authorities. Adam's risking a lot to do this for faith.

Nick: And we know you would be taking a huge risk, as well, because I promised adam that if he donates a kidney to faith, then I will help him avoid arrest.

Nate: I'm sure you would have promised him anything. If I were her father, I would have done the same.

Victor: And as a doctor?

Nate: [ Sighs ] Of all people, I know what faith is facing, and, first and foremost, my duty is to my patient. Bottom line is, I'm a doctor, not an officer of the law. I'll let others deal with the legalities of adam's situation after the fact.

Nikki: Thank you! Thank you so much. I-I knew you could help us.

Nick: We owe you, big-time.

Nate: If the test results are what we hope for, I'll make all the necessary arrangements. I'll contact the surgeon victor enlisted, reserve an O.R., And let you know when all set to go.

Nick: Thank you, nate.

Nikki: [ Sighs ]

Victor: Well, my baby, you were right about him.

Nick: I'm extremely grateful, but I can't stop worrying. His career, faith's life -- they're in the hands of my wild card of a brother.

Nick: Where's adam?

Sharon: He's upstairs, taking a shower. And you can relax. He's fully committed to doing this. He's ready to move forward so faith can make a full recovery.

Nick: Good. After all I've been through, I'd hate to see everything fall apart now.

Sharon: Look at you. You fought a tornado and adam and an injury, all for the sake of our daughter.

Nick: Well, it's all coming together. Nate's on board, too. He's willing to look past any feelings he has about dad using him in the past from his commitment to getting faith a healthy kidney.

Sharon: Thank god. Do we know when the surgery will happen?

Nick: Nate's at the hospital now. You know, he's getting everything ready so when adam is approved to be her donor, they'll have the surgery. And then, once adam is safe to travel, we'll sneak him out of the hospital before anybody realizes he was there.

Sharon: Nick... there's something that I need to tell you. Rey knows that adam is the potential donor and that you went to find him.

Nick: [ Sighs ] You told him?

Sharon: I couldn't keep it from him, not after everything that's happened. Look -- he's promised not to stand in the way of faith's operation. But, afterwards, he plans on arresting adam on the spot.

Nick: Alright. Uh, we'll worry about that later. Uh, right now, I think you should go to the hospital and be with faith. Give her the good news and just prepare her for what's coming.

Sharon: I know she's so scared.

Nick: Well, it's not gonna make it any easier knowing adam is the donor.

Sharon: I'm just gonna focus on the positive, knowing that she's gonna make a full recovery.

Nick: Yeah. I'm gonna do the same.

Sharon: Thanks for tracking adam down and getting him back here.

Nick: I will do anything for our girl.

Sharon: It couldn't have been easy to convince adam to come.

Nick: When adam's involved, nothing is ever easy.

Sharon: Especially considering you still believe he's guilty.

[ Door closes ]

Chloe: What are you even thinking? If you are even considering confessing about poisoning rey, you're crazy! It's just not an option. If you admit to what you did, you will lose connor possibly forever. You'll be playing right into victor's hands.

Chelsea: I have to do something.

Chloe: This doesn't just affect you and your son. If you come clean, you're going to out me, too, as your accomplice. So, that is a no. There has to be another way to deal with this.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] Okay. Okay, I'll go get connor, and I'll pull him out of the school, and I'll keep him as far away from victor as possible.

Chloe: Okay, yes, that is a much better plan.

Chelsea: Who am I kidding? Do I really think I can outrun victor?

Nikki: So, victor, do you really think we can get adam in and out of surgery without him being arrested?

Victor: I'm working on that. Why don't you go to the hospital and be with faith, okay?

Nikki: No, I'll go a little bit later. There's nothing I can do for her now, and rest is probably what she needs the most. Anyway, I'd rather be here for you.

Victor: That's very sweet of you, my darling, but I'm alright, okay? I assure you.

Nikki: I know. Adam has come to faith's rescue, and so you want to come to his. But, you know, no matter how much you plan his escape, something could go wrong, and he very well could be arrested.

Victor: Yeah, I'm well aware of that.

Nikki: The way you say that, are you considering other possibilities?

Victor: Let me just say that if the person who's responsible for poisoning rey would come forward and confess, I wouldn't have to jump through all these hoops to arrange adam's escape.

Nikki: Yeah, like chelsea will suddenly develop a conscience.

Victor: There's a way to convince her.

Nikki: Really? And how exactly do you plan to do that? New pronamel mineral boost

Lily: [ Clapping ] Congratulations, sherlock holmes. You figured it out.

Billy: Well, well, well. I enjoyed the hunt, but this is by far the most beautiful treasure I have ever had the pleasure of finding.

Lily: Tsk. Well, thank you. And the place is ours for the night.

Billy: Wow.

Lily: Mm-hmm.

Billy: So, what brought on this night of mystery and romance?

Lily: Well, I loved the new orleans-themed evening that you arranged for us. So, I thought I would do something special in return.

Billy: You have done many special things for me. I feel very much repaid for that night.

Lily: Okay, maybe I needed a special night. Do you have a problem with that?

Billy: No, no, not at all. How could I ever have a problem with the woman who defended me, stood by me, and just made me a better man because you have made me a better man. I'm living my best life when I'm with you.

Lily: Tsk! Aw!

[ Chuckles ]

Billy: May I have this dance?

Lily: Well, you found the treasure. So, it's yours to enjoy.

Sharon: So, the good news is, your father and adam are here, back in genoa city. And preparations are being made now for the surgery so that everything will be ready to go as soon as we get adam's test results in, if he checks out as a donor. Listen, sweetheart. This could happen really quickly. So, I don't want you to be frightened. We're all gonna be right here with you. And your grandfather, he's brought in the best transplant surgeon in the country. So, you're gonna be in really good hands. You're gonna be fine. I promise.

[ Door opens ]

Nate: Hey, there. How's my favorite patient doing?

Sharon: I think she's a little tired.

Nate: Faith, I know the idea of surgery can be pretty scary and overwhelming. But it's also a real miracle, a miracle of nature, how the human body works, how it's able to heal itself, how it allows us to fix all kinds of problems and injuries. You know, that's what made me want to be a surgeon in the first place. I felt this sense of awe every time I had the privilege, using the skills I had learned to help people. And now you're about to be one of those amazing miracles.

Faith: I wish you were doing it, the surgery.

Nate: Me, too, but remember i told you about my injury?

Faith: Dr. Hastings, you know what else I wish?

Nate: What's that?

Faith: I wish that someone else was giving me their kidney, anyone other than adam.

[ Knock on door ]

Nick: Yeah, come in!

[ Loudly ] Hey, rey!

[ Door closes ]

[ Normal voice ] Uh, sharon's at the hospital with faith.

Rey: Yeah, I figured as much. Heard you went after adam.

Nick: Yeah, uh, sharon told me you knew what was going on.

Rey: Yeah. Given that adam's faith's only option for a donor, I can't imagine you came back without him. My plaque psoriasis...

Lily: Would you like some champagne?

Billy: Champagne sounds amazing.

Lily: Thank you.

Billy: You are amazing.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Billy: Everything about tonight is amazing. Thank you, again.

Lily: Aw, you don't have to keep thanking me.

Billy: Oh, yes, I do. It's a reminder about what's really important.

Lily: Romantic surprises?

Billy: Well, that, too. You know, when I followed the clues that led to my suite, I was disappointed when I opened the door, and you weren't in there. It felt very empty, and it reminded me how empty my life would be without you in it.

Lily: Well, I hope you know that I am not going anywhere.

Billy: No, I'm serious now. You know, I wake up in the morning, you're the first thing I think about, just being with you. And lately I've been fantasizing about coming home to you at the end of the day, too.

Lily: [ Laughs ]

Billy: Having a little place to sneak off to in the afternoon for a little delight.

Lily: Hmm.

Billy: [ Sighs ] What do you think about getting a place together? A little home to call our own?

Lily: [ Laughs ] I think it's one of the best ideas you've ever had, and i would love to.

Chelsea: Don't you get it, chloe? Victor is coming after me with everything he's got! He will hunt me down wherever i go, especially if I have connor with me.

Chloe: You've disappeared once before. You ran away with connor. You changed your name, and no one knew where you were. You could do that again. Listen. I'll -- I'll help you. I'll do whatever I can to help you cover your tracks as long as you stop thinking about confessing. Chelsea, tell me you hear me. Tell me you know that I'm right. Tell me!

Nikki: So, what are you going to do? I know your belief in adam's innocence is unshakable.

Victor: He is innocent.

Nikki: I understand. You want him to be able to come home free and clear, and you have put a lot of work into creating a future for him here. But why, if he is innocent, why wouldn't he want to stay here and fight it?

Victor: Because, my darling, adam knows that chelsea's a con artist. She's fooled everyone -- the doctors, adam, nicholas, everyone.

Nikki: So, you think adam is afraid he can't prove his innocence.

Victor: She is very cunning. I bet you the only person she has ever been committed to is her son, connor.

Nikki: Victor, you wouldn't drag your grandson into this, would you?

Victor: I'll do everything to protect him -- everything -- including keeping him out of the clutches of his unhinged mother.

Nate: However you feel about your uncle, whatever else he's done, this is a good thing he's offered to do.

Faith: You really think so?

Nate: It's a wonderful thing. It's something everyone's been praying for, including me. You're a very lucky young lady to have so much love surrounding you. So, just remember that whenever you feel afraid. Okay?

Sharon: We're the lucky ones, nate. We're lucky to have faith in our lives.

Nate: So, the surgeon and anesthesiologist will be in shortly to walk you through the procedure, talk to you about any medications you might be given, and answer any questions you might have. And I'll be back a little later to tell you what you need to do when you go home after the operation. Cool?

Sharon: Yeah. Great. Thank you so much.

Nate: You're very welcome.

[ Door closes ]

Sharon: Look. I know it's a little strange that adam, of all people, is the one who can do this for us. But like nate said, what he's doing, it's a really good thing.

Faith: Mom, adam doesn't do good things. He lies, and he hurts people. He could be tricking us right now.

Sharon: Listen, sweetie. Adam chose to come back here. No one is forcing him to do this, and he's doing it at great risk to himself. He didn't have to do this, but he wanted to, for you.

Faith: What if he's just pretending that he wants to help, playing one of his sick games with us? What if he gets scared and runs away before we can do it?

[ Sighs ] What if rey arrests him before he even gets here?

Nick: I'm glad you understand how important it is that faith has this surgery.

Rey: Man, I understand very well. A transplant saved my sister's life. So, I have no intention of standing in the way. But after the surgery, don't even think about helping adam escape. It's considered aiding and abetting.

Nick: You don't need to throw threats around, alright? The only thing I care about is getting my daughter the help she needs. After that, you can do whatever you want. But I need your word you won't do anything until this operation is over.

Rey: You have my word.
