Jack: Can I get a black coffee to go, please? Okay, I can only think of a couple things that might dampen your enthusiasm for planning your wedding. Let me guess. You're worried about your little sister.
Summer: Yeah, I was thinking about bringing all these magazines with me the next time I visited faith. I don't know. Maybe helping me plan my wedding would be a good distraction. I just want to --
Jack: I am sure she is getting the best possible care, and I have to believe she's gonna come through this.
Summer: I hope so. I just wish there was more i could do for her.
Jack: She is very lucky to have your family's support. Look, nick and sharon are going to move heaven and earth to help her recover. That's not even to mention victor.
Summer: Yeah, no, that's -- that's all true. And I heard that there might be a possible donor that's willing to give faith a kidney, so dad's pursuing that lead.
Jack: Well, there you have it. Things are looking up already. Faith obviously has a guardian angel looking after her.
Sharon: I am so relieved we finally heard from nick.
Nikki: Thank god he was able to find adam and convince him to come home to faith.
Victor: How is she this morning?
Sharon: She's resting peacefully now. Um...I just, uh, came home to grab a couple of things for her. I'm kind of anxious to get back.
Victor: By the way, I meant to mention to you that you were perfectly right about your instinct in regard to adam. He did indeed end up at the montalvo farm, you know.
Nikki: I never gave up hope that nicholas could find adam.
Sharon: I'm just so grateful. I know that faith has been being really brave, but she's so scared. And she was asleep when nicholas called last night, so I can't wait to get back there and tell her that there's finally some good news.
Victor: Alright.
Mariah: Knock, knock. Miss me?
Kyle: [ Chuckles ] The place hasn't been the same without you. And let me be the first person at jabot to congratulate you on a successful trip.
Mariah: Thank you. I appreciate it. And I'm sorry for not touching base yesterday. I literally got off the plane and went straight to the hospital.
Kyle: Of course. How's faith doing?
Mariah: She's hanging in there, but her situation is dire. She just looked so small and frail laying in the hospital bed.
Kyle: Let me know if there's anything I can do.
Mariah: Yeah. For now, just sending your positive energy and vibes -- that's about the best you can do.
Kyle: Yeah. Well, I'm choosing to believe that she will get the transplant she needs very soon.
Mariah: Well, there's reason to hope. But hope needs to turn into a reality as fast as humanly possible.
Amanda: Well, thank you.
Devon: You're welcome.
Amanda: And thank you for last night. After a 12-hour workday, I could not resist a home-cooked meal. And the dessert wasn't too bad, either.
Devon: Well, I did tell you that I would support you while you were on this case, and a part of that is making sure that you are taken care of.
Amanda: You are keeping your word.
Devon: So, what's on the schedule for you today?
Amanda: Mm. I'm going to continue preparing for my grandfather's trial, and then I have my first meeting with opposing counsel michael baldwin.
Devon: He's pretty tough. But I think you'll be more than fine. You're very prepared. I've seen how much you've poured yourself into this case and how much it means to you to find out the truth about your family.
Amanda: The good and the bad.
[ Cellphone ringing ] Oh.
[ Sighs ] Early morning calls. Ah, speak of the devil. It's michael.
Devon: Really?
Amanda: Hello?
[ Doorbell rings ] Yes, but I didn't expect to hear from you until our meeting later. What's going on?
[ Door opens ]
Devon: Hi.
Nate: Hey. I know it's early, but, uh, i thought I'd stop by on my way to work to see moses. Hope you don't mind.
Devon: It'S...
Nate: Or, uh, maybe you and amanda do mind. The ups and downs of frequent mood swings

Jack: I am guessing faith would love to be part of planning your wedding, and it'll give her something to look forward to.
Summer: Yeah, no, I'm sure she'll have plenty of her own opinions, especially about her own bridesmaids dress.
Jack: Have you and kyle even come up with a date yet?
Summer: No, no, nothing's settled, but I think I want to be a fall bride. It'll give us enough time to get everything organized and hopefully get my dad on board with things.
Jack: Nick's still not comfortable with the two of you exchanging vows?
Summer: No. Um, but maybe by the time faith has gotten some semblance of her normal life back, you can help me convince my dad that this is the best thing to ever happen to me. My mom is already working on him, so maybe it could just be a a team project now.
Jack: After all you two have been through, I would like nothing more than for my son and you to be happily married. And I'm sure deep down, nick feels the same way.
Summer: All I want is family unity, complete and utter happiness, and a perfect wedding. I mean, is that too much to ask for?
Jack: Absolutely not.
Summer: [ Chuckles ]
[ Sighs ]
Mariah: If we keep talking about faith, I am going to be a wreck, and that does not look good walking the halls of jabot. I need to compartmentalize while I'm at work.
Kyle: Understood. Are you getting settled back in after your trip?
Mariah: Yeah, I'm going through the piles of paperwork on my desk and catching up on the locke debacle.
Kyle: Oh. You missed all the fun.
Mariah: Well, from what i understand, it seems like we're recovering from the damage done to the manufacturing plants?
Kyle: Well, not entirely, but we're almost there.
Mariah: I don't even know what set locke off in the first place, although I have my suspicions.
Kyle: It was exactly what you suspect. He straight out accused me of having an affair with his wife and was looking to punish me and jabot.
Summer: That must have been a nightmare.
Kyle: Ultimately, he backed off, and we were able to turn things around relatively quickly.
Mariah: Well, what made him back off?
Kyle: He had a heart attack.
Mariah: Oh, my god.
Kyle: [ Chuckles ] Yeah. I guess it made him reconsider things because he's done an emotional about-face since it happened and decided to let it go.
Mariah: Oh, well, I can't imagine what would have happened if he hadn't had that epiphany.
Kyle: Yeah, you and me both.
Mariah: So, he still has no idea that his son is actually yours?
Kyle: No. As far as I'm concerned. And I intend to keep it that way. Tara and I agreed it would be best if we never saw each other again. We're both going to go on with our lives acting like none of this ever happened. But she did give me this. That's harrison.
Mariah: Well, judging from the proud tone in your voice and the wistful look in your eye... you might have said goodbye to your son in your mind, but you haven't really let him go completely, have you?
Amanda: Hi, nate. Good to see you.
Nate: Yeah. You too.
Devon: That phone call sounded ominous. What's happened?
Amanda: Oh, the D.A. Wanted to move our meeting up, so I got to get out of here now.
Devon: Okay. Well, good luck today.
Amanda: Who needs luck? I got this.
Devon: That's what I like to hear. What are you looking at me like that for?
Nate: I guess I'm wondering -- how does amanda staying over work with moses living here?
Devon: What do you mean, how's it work? She comes over and visits, and she'll stay the night sometimes. I don't flaunt the relationship in front of moses, but we don't hide it, either.
Nate: Have you talked to moses about how he feels about it?
Devon: How he feels about who I'm seeing coming to visit? No, I haven'T. I don't -- he's 16. I don't think he cares.
Nate: I didn't mean to overstep. I just came by because I thought I'd give moses a lift to school and talk about his internship at askmdnow. We've both been so busy, we haven't really had much time to touch base.
Devon: Yeah, he actually left early to go to the hospital and visit faith.
Nate: Ah. Those two seem to be getting pretty close.
Devon: Mm.
Nate: He's even taken on extra volunteer shifts at the hospital so he can visit her every time he has a break. Are you okay with that?
Devon: Yeah, of course I am. I think it's great for both of them. She obviously needs some supports right now, and he's new to town, so he can use a friend. Why are you asking me all these questions?
Nate: I'm just trying to look out for the kid.
Devon: And do you think I'm not? 'Cause if you have an issue with my judgment or how I'm handling him, then you can just say it. You don't have to dance around like you're doing right now. And tonight's winning numbers are 18,
Nate: I'm not criticizing your judgment. I know you're taking good care of moses and that you'll always look out for him.
Devon: Then what's with all the questions?
Nate: I'm sorry. You don't deserve it. I know it's not rational, but i think it has something to do with elena. The fact that you slept with her and didn't end up with her kind of stings.
Devon: I don't think I'm following you.
Nate: She risked everything with me to sleep with you again. For what? Nothing. She and I broke up over it, and you decide to build a relationship with amanda.
Devon: You forget who you're talking to? It's been painful and complicated for all of us involved, right? And aren't we working on getting to a better place with each other?
Nate: We are.
Devon: If you feel that strongly about elena, then why don't you work things out with her?
Nate: I'm stopping myself. Look, I care about her. But, uh, we can't go back. I can'T. I guess when I see you with amanda, I get kind of jealous because, after everything, you guys got it figured out and are happier and stronger than before.
Sharon: Morning, hon.
Faith: Hey, mom.
Sharon: You slept well last night.
Faith: Not much else to do around herE.
Sharon: Well, I'm glad you're doing better after that alarming call from the hospital last night.
Faith: Moses kind of freaked out about something that wasn't a big deal. Sorry about that.
Sharon: I'm glad he did. I want to know everything that's going on with you.
Faith: Trust me. You do. Did you bring my stuff from home?
Sharon: Yes. And I have some good news. Your father and uncle are on their way here.
Faith: Adam agreed to come back to donate one of his kidneys to me?
Sharon: Nick found him and explained everything, and adam realized he had to come through for you.
Faith: That's good. It means I'll be okay, right?
Sharon: Well, I know it's a lot to process, but if everything goes the way that we hope, you'll be on the road to recovery real soon.
Faith: But I still don't understand how this is gonna work.
Sharon: What? The surgery?
Faith: No. I mean with adam.
Victor: Michael, this is victor. Call me back as soon as you can, okay? I need to know what progress you have made or not made in regard to adam's case. And then, by the way, uh, explain this whole sutton ames case to me. Why the hell is my name dragged into it? I had nothing do with it, okay? Call me back. Oh, baby, I thought you were working in the study.
Nikki: Uh, I took care of the most pressing issue. The rest will have to wait. I just can't -- can't think about anything else until nicholas and adam get back.
Victor: Well, they'll be landing shortly.
Nikki: I'm just glad this whole thing is almost over.
Victor: You know, this whole damn drama is the result of chelsea lawson framing my son adam. And he is now lurking in the shadows while she is walking around -- she has a phony limp, as if just regained the power of her limbs. She's a con artist. She's a phony. The D.A. And the cops need to do far more and work more quickly to point the finger at chelsea lawson. She's the guilty party. I want my son's name cleared.
Nikki: Yeah, I -- I overheard you leaving a message for michael about that. What was that other thing you were asking about, uh, about that politician sutton ames?
Victor: Oh, it's nothing to worry about.
Nikki: Just indulge me, please. Do I need to be concerned about it?
Michael: How difficult is it to keep three appointments straight? You had three appointments. Yeah. I mean, maybe you'll try a little -- oh.
Amanda: Mr. Baldwin.
Michael: [ Sighs ] Ms. Sinclair, thank you so much for accommodating this last-minute change in my schedule. I'll deal with you later.
Amanda: It's not a problem. I'm eager to get to work.
Michael: Ah. New kind of work for you, right? I thought you representing billy was a one-off. A murder trial. That's, uh, quite a change from the work you were doing as general counsel for chancellor communications.
Amanda: Well, what can I say? My successful defense of billy whet my appetite.
Michael: Mm.
Amanda: And, actually, when i started law school, my intention was to become a criminal lawyer, but life took a different path, as it does sometimes.
Michael: Criminal law. I love it. You won't get an argument from me.
Amanda: And I think that, previous to the last time we crossed paths, you have wrongfully accused my client.
Michael: Well, initially the evidence all pointed towards billy.
Amanda: Because he was framed. Thankfully, you figured that out before we went to court. But make no mistake. I was more than up for the challenge.
Michael: I can already see you are totally prepared. But you have to understand why I'm so curious. I mean, it is quite remarkable for a power broker like sutton ames to take a chance on someone who has absolutely no track record in this area when his entire future is on the line.
[ Laughs ] So, tell me. I mean, how did this particular case fall in your lap?
Kyle: I have to let go of the idea of knowing my son.
[ Cellphone thuds ]
Mariah: I'm not sure i believe you.
Kyle: Okay. I haven't fully let go, but i will. Do I want to know more about him? Yes. But he doesn't need to know me. Harrison is healthy and happy and loved by two parents who adore him. I'm not going to inject myself into his life, turn his universe upside down, and disrupt his relationship with the only father he's ever known.
Mariah: Well, I guess there are no good options here.
Kyle: The best one is if i act like tara never came back into my life. I'm excited to move forward with summer. I have news on that front, as well. The engagement is back on. And, yes, I am looking for enthusiastic support from my friend.
Mariah: Mm, boy! You know what? With everything that you have been through as of late, the least I can do is give you my blessing. I want you to be happy. Summer makes you happy. So I'm happy for you.
Kyle: Thank you.
Mariah: [ Laughs ]
Kyle: You know, you have been a rock for me through all of this, the only person I've been able to talk to about everything, a truly good friend. So, how'd you like a promotion?
Mariah: What?
Kyle: Mm-hmm. From good to best. I'm wondering if you will stand up for me at my wedding.
Mariah: What?! You want me to be your best person?
Kyle: Mm-hmm.
Mariah: Oh, my gosh. Yes! Of course, of course. I am honored and deeply touched. And I'm gonna be the best best person ever.
Kyle: Ooh, that's all I can ask for.
[ Both laugh ]
Mariah: So, uh, when is the wedding?
Kyle: Um, we're thinking in the fall.
Mariah: Wow. Okay. Uh, I'm -- I'm gonna be as big as a house by then, so you're gonna have to get the rings by reaching over my belly.
Kyle: We'll make it work. How's the pregnancy going?
Mariah: Good. You know, I'm super sleepy at times, and I have the occasional bout of morning sickness, but other than that, it's great.
Kyle: And everything's going well with everyone else involved?
Mariah: Yes, I understand it is an unconventional situation. Um, I can't decide if I'm living in a '50s melodrama or a modern fairy tale.
Kyle: Well, the one with the happiest ending.
Mariah: I think we're all due a happy ending, right?
Kyle: We definitely are.
Summer: Maybe I should do, like, a harvest bouquet or maybe some harvest centerpieces for the middle of the table. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I totally got carried away.
Jack: Whoa, wait. No, no. What?
Summer: Your eyes are completely glazed over right now.
Jack: I'm excited for your excitement.
Summer: [ Chuckles ] Okay. But you don't need to know every little detail. Got it. Got it. Um, look, all you need to worry about is just being the father of the groom. Just sit back and relax.
Jack: Gee, thanks.
Summer: I hope that you find someone special to bring as your date. As long as it is not sally spectra. Please tell me there is zero chance of that happening.
Jack: Given that I'm not seeing sally any longer and that& the wedding is still months away, I don't know who I will bring as my plus one.
Summer: Okay, well, that was not a direct answer. Look, jack, I know it is none of my business, but please, for your own sake, do not let sally get back under your skin. I know we called a truce, but i still think she's trouble. There is no convincing me otherwise.
Jack: I'll take that under advisement. Thank you.
Summer: I only say this because I care about you and we're about to become family.
Jack: I know you only mean well, but isn't it usually the noy in-laws that interfere in a young couple's lives, not the other way around?
Summer: You're right. Okay. I'm backing off.
Jack: I'm heading back to the office. When you and kyle come in, come see me, okay?
Summer: Okay. Yeah. See you in a bit.
Victor: About 30 years ago. It is rearing its ugly head. Sutton ames is accused of having arranged the murder of someone employed by newman. And he hired amanda sinclair to represent him, to defend him. Now, I get the feeling that amanda sinclair is trying to shift the blame away from sutton ames onto someone at newman...perhaps even me.
Nikki: She's gonna say that you conspired to commit murder?
Victor: Right.
Nikki: Well, how can you be so calm?
Victor: Because it's absurd.
Nikki: Well, darling, I'm glad you're so confident about it. I just wish you didn't have to deal with it at all. And how did amanda get involved?
Victor: That's a very good question, a very good question. And I'm gonna find out.
Amanda: How I became sutton's attorney is none of your business. What is important is that he's put all of his trust in me. So, I suggest that we get to the reason you called this meeting. I'm guessing you want my client to plead out?
Michael: Your client was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree intentional homicide, as well as solicitation to commit first-degree intentional homicide. It looks like the esteemed sutton ames could be looking at life in prison.
Amanda: What are you offering?
Michael: He pleads guilty to second-degree homicide.
Amanda: And face the possibility of serving 20 years?
Michael: He could get a reduced sentence for good behavior.
Amanda: Ah. I see this for what it is. A prosecutor with a solid case doesn't offer a plea bargain. You don't want to go to court because you know you don't have a strong enough case. The evidence is circumstantial.
Michael: Or maybe I prefer not to see an elderly gentleman with no previous record spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Amanda: I don't buy that.
Michael: Or maybe I truly believe that I am doing what's in the best interest of the citizens of this state.
Amanda: Well, that may be true, but I'm passing on your offer.
Michael: [ Chuckles ] I admire your self-assurance. But if I were you, I wouldn't reject it so quickly.
Amanda: Why is that?
Michael: You can't win this case. Smooth dark chocolate, refreshing peppermint,
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Devon: I'm glad that you can be honest with me.
Nate: Just, uh, took a little work to get there.
Devon: Yeah. Look, man, I do hope that you find what you're looking for in life, and I believe that there is somebody out there for everyone. And I think that you're gonna be ready for it when they come along.
Nate: I hope you're right. And, um, I'm glad we got to the point where we can talk about stuff like this. In the meantime, I want to focus on family, so tell me more about what you're doing for the anniversary of neil's passing.
Devon: Oh, yeah, we're just putting together a small event to honor him. And malcolm and olivia are out of the country, so they're not gonna be able to make it, but I'm hoping that the twins can come back to town to be there for it 'cause I know that that's what neil would want, is to have as many winters together as possible.
Nate: You're right. Coming together like that, you know, continuing to heal, moving forward with optimism. That's what neil would want and exactly what we all need.
Sharon: I told you about adam so that you would know you're going to get the help you need. Just try not to focus on anything else.
Faith: How am I not supposed to worry? Dad may have gotten adam on the plane and adam may have said that he'll go through with the surgery, but he's still on the run from the police.
Sharon: That's true. But you know your grandfather, and you understand how determined we all are to make this happen.
Faith: But how?
Sharon: That I'm not exactly sure of yet, but we are going to find a way. You just focus on the positive. I know that things have been really hard lately, but you have truly persevered through school and rehab and now this crisis. You haven't given up. And we're not giving up on you. Your doctors, your family, your new friend moses. We're all gonna rally behind you. So you just hang on to that, okay? You let us take care of everything else.
Amanda: I might not have tried a murder case, but I've certainly seen plenty of posturing lawyers.
Michael: I'm not posturing. It has nothing to do with me. It's the facts. The facts are all incriminating for your client.
Amanda: So you say.
Michael: [ Chuckles ] Would you like me to lay them out for you?
Amanda: Please do.
Michael: Alright. Once upon a time, richard nealon, while he was working in the accounting department at newman, found payments to sutton's campaign for "consulting work." Well, these payments coincided with newman real-estate projects facing permit issues due to building-code violations. Now, soon after each payment was made, permitting issues just disappeared into thin air.
[ Snaps fingers ] Poof! Oh, we also have records of phone calls richard made to sutton's campaign office. Look, if sutton ames were accepting bribes to help newman, it would have ruined his political career, sent him to prison -- big stuff. Well, before we know it, richard's dead -- car accident, brakes tampered with. Sutton ames was just coming into his political power. He had everything to lose if richard had decided to shine a light on what he found. And he had everything to gain by having the man silenced.
Amanda: That is one version.
Michael: Mm.
Amanda: I have a very different idea of what happened.
Michael: I am all ears.
Amanda: I'm sure you are. But I don't try my cases in hotel lobbies. You'll have to wait for the trial, which means no deal. I'll see you in court. It's my 5:52 woke-up-like-this migraine medicine.
Victor: Well, this is rather fortuitous timing. You here to discuss sutton ames?
Amanda: As a matter of fact, we are. I was just telling D.A. Baldwin he should be prepared to lose. My client will be cleared of all charges.
Victor: You're deeply invested in this, aren't you?
Amanda: I always give 100% to my work.
Victor: Ah.
Amanda: Is it so hard to believe that I want to reclaim my client's good name?
Victor: Mm-hmm. He's lucky to have you.
Amanda: I know you're not thrilled to have your company attached to a murder case, but i can assure you this is not a personal attack. It's just a matter of the facts.
Michael: Oh, the facts. The facts are all solidly in the prosecution's favor, and as I'm sure the jury will conclude.
Amanda: If you'll excuse me, gentlemen, I should get back to preparing my winning argument.
Victor: You have a nice day.
Amanda: Same to you.
Victor: So... another ambitious lawyer.
Michael: Mm.
Victor: So, you have things firmly in hand?
Michael: Oh, I do. I do. She's posturing.
Victor: Did you address the issue I called you about? Did you ask rey to investigate chelsea lawson?
Michael: Victor, I assure you justice will be served.
Victor: The question is when? I'm not gonna sit back and do nothing.
Michael: Victor, I'm sure you have a million plans of action running around in your head, and I'd just urge you not to act on any of them. It's -- look, wouldn't your energy be better spent on your granddaughter right now?
Victor: You heard about faith?
Michael: I did, and I'm very sorry.
Victor: [ Inhales deeply ] I got to tell you, it breaks my heart to see her suffer like this. It really breaks my heart. Sweet girl. But there's some good news.
Michael: I'm glad to hear it. I mean, I know how serious these things can get, having been on the other side of it all those years ago with danny romalotti.
Victor: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember that. You know, people really respected you for that. That was an heroic act, proving that even someone with your past can be redeemed.
Michael: [ Laughs ] Well, yeah. Well, in a sense, the donation saved my life, as well, and people gave me the second chance that I so desperately needed to start over.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Sharon: Hi, nate. Faith just went back to sleep.
Nate: I'm sorry to hear about faith's rough night. I just went over her latest lab results.
Sharon: And?
Nate: There's still no response to the steroid treatment.
Sharon: Well, that's disappointing, but I was preparing myself for that.
Nate: Faith's on the national donor registry for a kidney, and we both know it could be a long time before she gets to the top of that list. How's the search for a living donor coming?
Kyle: Summer said you wanted to meet with us?
Jack: Yes. First, I got an update on the way in. The manufacturing plants tat were closed due to false claims about unsafe working conditions -- they are reopening beginning of next week.
Summer: That's great news.
Kyle: Yeah, it's such a relief, especially because i know this was my fault and none of this would have happened if it weren't for my past with tara.
Jack: I don't want you blaming yourself any longer. We weathered this storm. It is behind us. Now that we are all looking ahead, though, there is something I want from you and summer. Allergens are little terrors all around us.
Victor: Hey.
Devon: Mr. Newman.
Victor: Devon. How are you?
Devon: Hey. I'm good. I heard about faith. I'm so sorry. Is she gonna be okay?
Victor: [ Sighs ] Well... rather serious, you know.
Devon: I do.
Victor: And, uh, thank god for your brother -- moses. He has been a comfort to her. I'd like you to say thank you to him for me, alright?
Devon: Ah. Yeah, absolutely. I will. I will do that. I also want to let you know about this special event we're putting together to mark the anniversary of neil's passing.
Victor: Oh, yeah.
Devon: It's gonna coincide with the launch of a jazz label that I'm putting together and establishing in his honor. I'd love for you to be there.
Victor: Wow. That's a great idea.
Devon: Thanks.
Victor: I bet your dad would be proud of you.
Devon: I hope so.
Victor: Yep.
Devon: So...
Victor: Everything going well otherwise?
Devon: I can't complain. I'm healthy, and my business is growing, you know? It's nice having my little brother in town.
Victor: Yeah. So, I understand you're seeing amanda sinclair?
Devon: I wasn't aware you had your ear to the ground to that sort of thing, but, yeah, I am.
Victor: You know, there's very little in this town that passes my eyes or my ears.
Devon: I can see that. Yeah.
Victor: Yeah, she's, uh, taken on some case involving a former employee of newman enterprises.
Devon: Yeah, I did hear something about that. I don't think it's anything you're gonna need to be concerned about, unless there's something I don't know.
Victor: No, no, no, there's nothing to know. I'm just curious. I mean, she's a corporate lawyer, right?
Devon: That's right, yeah.
Victor: Yeah. She's representing a guy called sutton ames. Uh, wonder if he promised her a big payoff. I mean, why would she leave her job, a very good job, to devote her energies full time to this case?
Devon: You know, that's something that you're gonna have to ask amanda...
Victor: Okay.
Devon: ...'Cause she's the only one who is gonna be able to share that information.
Victor: I appreciate your discretion.
Devon: Yeah.
Victor: Nice to see you, devon.
Devon: It's nice to see you, too.
Victor: Alright, man.
Devon: Take care.
Victor: Thank you.
Jack: So, I have been reflecting on the journey you two are on, the ups and downs of the past, the future you're embarking on together, and what you might need right now.
Kyle: What exactly are you getting at, dad?
Jack: An engagement party. I want permission to throw you one.
Kyle: [ Laughs ]
Summer: Oh, my gosh, I was so nervous there for a second about where that was going, but -- what? I'm so touched that you want to do that for us.
Kyle: Yeah, me too. Thanks, dad.
Jack: Yeah, I'm thinking close friends and family, something that symbolizes the turning of a page in your lives.
Summer: Wow. I love that. Thank you.
Kyle: Yeah. Your support means the world to us.
Jack: You have that, now and always.
Sharon: Nick went out of town. He's meeting with a possible donor.
Nate: That's amazing that you found someone so quickly, given faith's rare blood type.
Sharon: Yes. It's a miracle. Um, we're waiting for some more information, but I don't want to jinx it by talking about it before it's real.
Nate: Understood. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Sharon: And I want to thank you for everything you've done. I'm not just talking about your medical expertise, but your compassion and your calm and your reassuring presence. You always make faith feel like more than just a patient, but someone who you care about and whose well-being is important to you.
Nate: That's because it is and I do. I promise I'm gonna do whatever I can for faith.
Sharon: I know you will. I'm counting on it.
Amanda: [ Gasps ]
Devon: Room service.
Amanda: Well, this is a nice surprise. And I am famished.
Devon: Good, good.
Amanda: But I don't have much time. I am slammed with work.
Devon: It's alright.
Amanda: My meeting with michael -- oh! -- Ran long...
Devon: Yeah?
Amanda: ...Partly because i ran into victor on my way out.
Devon: Okay. That makes more sense.
Amanda: What do you mean?
Devon: I ran into victor, and he was asking a bunch of questions why you took sutton's case.
Amanda: What kind of questions?
Devon: Like what you were offered and what you're getting out of all of it.
Amanda: Do you think that victor is fishing for dirt that he can use against me?
Devon: I absolutely think that's what he's doing. It's just what I said would happen. He's gonna come out swinging against anyone who he thinks could be a threat.
Amanda: So I have to keep my guard up because he's gonna use any and every weakness I have to try to win.
