Episode #12101 ~ Victor calls Chelsea's bluff. Adam makes a dangerous decision. Nikki delivers unexpected news to Sharon.

Nikki: Well, I appreciate all the extra attention you're showing faith. I realize you're going above and beyond your duties. Yeah, please let me know if anything should change. Thank you. Well, faith is resting comfortably. There's been no change in her condition.

Victor: [ Sighs ]

Nikki: Have you heard from nicholas or adam?

Victor: No, not exactly, no.

Nikki: What does that mean?

Victor: I talked to my pilot.

Nikki: So nicholas has talked to him?

Victor: No, I've got some bad news. Apparently, the weather forecast for kansas was accurate.

Nikki: They had a tornado?

Victor: Yeah. It touched down close to the montalvo farm. That's where we think adam is hiding. And nicholas was on the way there.

Rey: I meant what I said before about searching for the truth about who poisoned me, no matter where my investigation leads.

Nick: [ Coughing ]

[ Breathing heavily ] Adam!

Faith: I keep having bad dreams, so I don't want to sleep.

Moses: Do you want to tell me about them?

Faith: You'd listen to me talk about my dreams?

Chelsea: [ Screams ]

Chloe: What are you doing?

Chelsea: Sorry, I... sorry, it's been a while since I've seen, you know, people.

Chloe: So you open the door and you scream? Yeah, that seems normal.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] I've been going a little stir crazy in here alone.

Chloe: Well, that's why I'm here. I just wanted to make sure you were doing okay.

Nick: All the times I've wanted you gone, you think you're going out like this? Hell no. You promised me that you would go home and help faith. And you're keeping your word. You hear me? So wake up!

[ Clattering ] Look, man. You can leave me here. I don't care. But you got to go home, get back to genoa city and save my little girl. Please! Hey! Adam! There you go. Hey! You're alive!

Adam: [ Coughing ] Ah.

Nick: I'm here. You okay? Can you get up?

Adam: What the hell happened?

Nick: The ceiling, it collapsed on us. We're lucky to be alive.

Adam: [ Groans ] Are you hurt?

Nick: No, I'm alright. I'm okay, but I can't get to you. What about you?

Adam: Just some scrapes and bruises, I think. My head is killing me. But my kidneys are intact, if that's what you're wondering.

Nick: Can you stand up?

[ Coughing ]

Adam: I'm pinned. I think we should probably make ourselves comfortable. I think it's gonna be a little while until help comes. No one's supposed to be living on the montalvo farm, so no one knows that we're here.

Nick: I will claw through this wood with my bare hands if I have to. Now, listen to me, it's gonna be a lot easier for you to get out of here than me. Can you make your way over to that door that we knocked down before the ceiling collapsed?

Adam: Yeah, there's just one problem -- I can't make it to that door because I have a giant tree limb trapping my legs.

Nick: It's for faith, alright? She needs you. You got to use every ounce of your strength that you can, but you got to get out of here and go save my daughter's life.

Adam: [ Grunts ] (Cat 1) friskies world!

Chelsea: I was just surprised to see you at my door, considering you so unceremoniously abandoned me.

Chloe: Well, I'm not gonna apologize for that. I was worried about being busted as your accomplice in this crazy scheme, and, well, I tried to stay away. But I couldn't stop thinking about how you were doing. I'm sure it hasn't been easy, keeping up this slow recovery act while you're cooped up in this place.

Chelsea: No, it hasn't been easy. I've been getting very...jumpy.

Chloe: Yeah, I noticed.

Chelsea: But I'm actually toying with the idea of a prison break. I need to get out. I need some fresh air. I need to see some real people -- I mean, I know you're a real person, but I'm seriously going stir crazy in here.

Chloe: Well, I'm glad I came when I did.

Chelsea: So you can join me on my adventure?

Chloe: So I can talk you out of it. Chelsea, you can't go walking around out there. People think that you're still working on regaining your mobility and speech. It's too risky to let the world know that you're physically capable of framing adam.

Chelsea: I'll make it look like I'm working on the early stages of my recuperation. And now that you're back, you can help me.

Sharon: Rey? Rey, are you here?

Rey: I didn't want to wake

you, but I didn't feel like i

should stay any longer.

Moses: So I've been looking up a lot about kidneys and what causes them to fail. We're gonna get through this. Do you want to see some of the research?

Faith: No. I appreciate how much effort you've put into this, but i still trust what your cousin nate has told me himself more than the information that you found on the website that he works for.

Moses: Okay. Then we're gonna have to find another way to keep you from falling asleep and having more bad dreams.

Faith: We could play a game. My grandpa just dropped off that portable chessboard over there.

Moses: Chess, huh? You can teach me?

Faith: Sure. But we might not have that much time for a full lesson.

Moses: That's okay. Just do the best you can.

Faith: I think you'll pick it up pretty easily, but it takes a lifetime to get really good. And fair warning, you probably won't beat me. Because I learned from the best.

Moses: Alright. Challenge accepted.

Nikki: Are you playing chess against yourself?

Victor: Yeah. It has always helped me think about all aspects of a problem, you know, like the one we're facing right now.

Nikki: Well, I'm sure, despite the circumstances, nicholas will be able to find adam.

Victor: Yeah, so am I.

Nikki: Are you worried that adam won't be willing to return?

Victor: Yeah, that's another -- another question.

Nikki: Even if he knows what's at stake for faith?

Victor: Oh, darling, you know adam is difficult. Nicholas is asking him to risk his future, risk his freedom. It won't be easy. Besides that, the rift between the two is so deep, it's almost insurmountable.

Nick: Come on, man. You can do it. Lift!

Adam: Hey, I don't need a pep talk.

Nick: I'm trying to help.

Adam: [ Groaning ] Ah!

Nick: There you go.

Adam: Oh, shut up!

Nick: There, I knew you could do it. I knew it. How you feeling?

Adam: Oh. Ohh, not bad. Little stiff.

Nick: Can you make it to the door?

Adam: Yeah, I think so.

Nick: Hey, what are you doing? No, no, no, no. Don't waste time on me. You got to go get on that plane and go home.

Adam: What are you talking about? Just leave you here?

Nick: Yeah, you can't move all this alone.

Adam: Do you have your phone?

Nick: I mean, it's probably somewhere around here. I don't know. How about you?

Adam: I don't know. It's probably smashed into a million pieces.

Nick: Well, when you leave, just tell the police to bring a rescue team and come and get me.

Adam: Yeah, there's a little problem with that. I'm a wanted man, so if I got to the police station, they're gonna arrest me. That's not gonna do either one of us any good.

Nick: Yeah. All I care about's my daughter, man.

Adam: I've got an idea.

Nick: Where are you going?

Adam: I'll be back.

Nick: Will you?

Adam: What's wrong, nick? You don't trust me to come back? I mean, that probably would be the smartest move, if I fled the country, started over. I'd never have to think about genoa city again.

Nick: You won't do that.

Adam: [ Chuckles ] Well, you're not really in a position to stop me.

Nick: You looked me in the eye and you told me -- you promised me that you'd go back and help my daughter. You want to prove your innocence? If you run, you will never get this chance again. So I believe you. I trust you.

Nikki: I understand why you're concerned that nicholas might not be able to convince adam to come back. The hatred between those two is palpable, but that doesn't mean that it won't happen. Even enemies can work through their differences.

Victor: They have more than differences, okay?

Nikki: Well, I know, but there is one thing they have in common.

Victor: What?

Nikki: They are devoted fathers that would do anything for their children. So I think on that level, nicholas will be able to get through to him, in spite of his long history of selfishness.

Victor: Let's please not forget adam is in this predicament because he was accused of poisoning the detective. What upsets me about it the most is that adam was just about to turn the corner. Everything was falling into place for him. And chelsea took it all away from him. You know, she is the guilty party in this.

Nikki: Now, that's just a theory, victor.

Victor: More than a theory, okay?

[ Sighs ] You know, what I do with an aggressive queen is to lay a trap for her.

Nikki: What does that mean?

Victor: Oh. You'll see.

Nikki: Victor, what are you going to do?

Chloe: Alright, there you go.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ]

Chloe: Oh, crap. Okay. Well, now the pressure's on. Rey is here.

Sharon: Thanks for the update. I will be back at the hospital soon.

[ Knock on door ] Bye, nate. I have to go. It's open. Hi, nikki.

Nikki: Hi. I hope I'm not intruding. I saw that your light was on. I wondered if you had gotten home from the hospital.

Sharon: Rey convinced me that I needed to take a break. He drove me home, and I ended up falling asleep.

Nikki: Well, that's good you got some rest. Please let me know if there's anything I can do.

Sharon: I appreciate that, nikki, so much.

Nikki: Is there anything i can get you?

Sharon: No. It's just...after all these years, it's really nice to be on the same side as you.

Nikki: We are in a different place, aren't we? Well, I must admit I found a new respect for you watching how you handled your fight with cancer. And the way you've been there for faith during this difficult tme, it's very admirable.

Sharon: I did what any mom would do. What you're doing for faith, sharing your experiences with rehab just to help her get through it, that's really brave.

Nikki: Look at us.

[ Chuckles ]

Sharon: Who would have thought that we would get along like this?

Nikki: Okay. Our mutual admiration session is over.

Sharon: Yes, we have to focus on faith and what we can do if she can't get the transplant from adam. Have you heard anything from nicholas?

Nikki: No, not a word. It's very discouraging. But I do believe that he will be able to bring adam back to genoa city for faith. And you need to believe that, too.

Sharon: I'm trying to stay optimistic. I have to tell you, it's such a relief just to be able to talk about this. Lately, I've just been felt so alone.

Nikki: Well, I'm sure rey will be home soon.

Sharon: Well, he's working late tonight, so...

Nikki: Oh, he's on the night shift while faith is in the hospital?

Sharon: He... it's a big case.

Nikki: Well, I guess if paul needs him, there's nothing he can do about it. But it must be tough on you.

Sharon: Um...you know what? I can't hide this anymore. He's not working late. Rey moved out.

Nick: [ Groans ]

Nikki: Is this situation with rey temporary?

Sharon: Well, I'm hoping that we can work through our issues, but I'm worried that there may be no coming back for us.

Nikki: [ Sighs ] I certainly know how that feelS. Victor and I were at that "point of no return" more than once. Of course, we weren't really. We always found a way to work things out.

Sharon: I bet you're glad things didn't work out between nick and me.

Nikki: [ Sighs ] Are you ready for some more frankness?

Sharon: Sure.

Nikki: If I had my choice between you and phyllis for nicholas... you would win by a landslide.

Sharon: [ Laughs ]

Nick: [ Grunting ]

[ Grunts ]

[ Breathing heavily ]

Faith: Daddy, wake up.

You can't trust adam.

You've got to come help me.

Nick: Ahh!

[ Groaning ] Ahh.

Rey: It's so good to see you out and about, chelsea. And without your nurse.

Chelsea: Well, not having a nurse anymore, it's actually helped me to work harder.

Rey: I'm sure. Sure, just don't push too hard.

Chloe: Well, don't let us keep you, rey.

Chelsea: Any leads on adam?

Rey: No. But he is out there somewhere. There have been some new developments, though -- not that I can discuss them -- but it does point the case in a very different direction.

Chelsea: What do you mean by that?

Rey: Let's just say we're broadening the investigation.

Chelsea: Sounds promising. Good luck.

Rey: Thank you. So great to see you doing so well, chelsea.

Chloe: Did you hear that? The new direction in this investigation is us. I knew he was taunting me when he was interrogating me the other day.

Chelsea: Stop jumping to conclusions. Even if he suspects something, he doesn't have anything on us. He's just testing the waters. As long as we stay calm and don't act suspicious, we'll be fine. I'll be observing your safe-driving abilities.

Faith: Adam's been gone a while. Dad, we need him. If he runs away again, what will we do?

Nick: I'm gonna figure it out.

Faith: But adam was the perfect match.

Nick: He said he'll come back.

Faith: He can't be trusted, dad.

Nick: I know. It's different this time.

Faith: How can you be so sure?

Nick: It's hard to explain. For the first time in my life, i think I actually believe him. He's done terrible things. He's a broken man from them. Now he's looking for forgiveness.

Faith: He's tricked you before. He's tricked everyone.

Nick: It's adam, I know, so who knows how long it's gonna last, but for now, I got to believe him.

Faith: You think he'll donate a kidney to me because you asked him?

Nick: Not for me. Or you. He'll do it for your mom. He'll do it for her.

Faith: Daddy, you've lost a lot of blood.

Nick: I'm really tired.

Nick: I don't think you should go to sleep. Stay awake, daddy, stay awake.

Nick: [ Sighs ]

[ Siren wails in distance ]

Moses: Okay, so this one i can move diagonally?

Faith: Yes.

Moses: Okay. What about this?

Faith: Good move. I knew you'd pick it up.

Moses: Okay. Okay, how about this?

Faith: That's brilliant. How'd you know how to do that?

Moses: Just a lucky guess.

Faith: Are you hustling me, moses?

Moses: Yeah, maybe a little.

Faith: You said you didn't know how to play.

Moses: No. To be fair, I said, "can you teach me?"

Faith: How long have you been playing?

Moses: Since I went to the park. I saw some guys playing in new york, and they taught me. They played for money, so it was expensive, but now I know my way around a chessboard.

Faith: Good. That means I don't have to take it easy on you.

[ Cellphone rings ] Hi, mom.

Sharon: You sound like you're in good spirits.

Faith: Moses is here. We're playing chess.

Sharon: I see. Well, here I was feeling guilty for being away for so long, and you're having the time of your life.

Faith: Not quite. But he's giving me a run for my money in this game.

Moses: Check.

Faith: Check? Mom, I've got to go.

Sharon: Okay, I just wanted to see how you're doing and let you know that I'll be there soon.

Faith: Great. Bye.

Sharon: I'm so glad you came back.

Moses: It's your turn.

Faith: Oh, right.

Moses: Are you okay? Faith...

Faith: I don't feel so good.

Moses: Okay, hold on, I'm gonna get a doctor. Alright?

Chloe: Well, everything about that was nerve-wracking.

Chelsea: You need to relax.

Victor: Good evening, ladies. That cane is a nice touch.

Chelsea: How did you get in here?

Victor: This used to be my home away from home, you know.

Chelsea: I've had the locks changed since then.

Victor: Mm. Adam gave me a key in case of an emergency.

Chelsea: Is this an emergency?

Victor: I think it is, yes. Rather untenable situation. But wait a minute, you had a nice night out on the town, right? Were you whooping it up? Were you celebrating the destruction of my son's life?

Chelsea: We were celebrating the progress I've made in my recovery.

Victor: Oh, that. Wow. Look at you, my god. You're the talk of the town. Your recovery is miraculous. I bet you the doctors are contemplating writing a book about it, about your speedy recovery.

Chelsea: What is it you want from me?

Victor: I'm gonna give you an ultimatum. When I get a migraine, I go to the darkest place I can find.

Sharon: Thank you for letting me sleep earlier. The rest did me some good.

Rey: I'm glad.

Sharon: And I saw your note, but I'm glad you changed your mind and you decided to come back. Are we eating together?

Rey: I just got you some of lola's chicken tortilla soup. I know you love it.

Sharon: I do.

Rey: I was gonna leave it in the fridge for you.

Sharon: I see.

Rey: Yeah, I thought you'd still be sleeping. Um...the real reason that I'm here is I drove your car back from the hospital.

Sharon: Oh, okay. Thank you for going through the trouble. But I hope you can stay for at least a few minutes. I just spoke with faith, and she's in no hurry for me to get back to the hospital, maybe we can sit down and talk a little.

Rey: Yeah, not tonight. I already have a ride share on the way. Good night.

Sharon: Well, thanks for the food and the car.

Rey: We can talk in the morning.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Sharon: Sharon rosales. Oh, hi. I was just on my way back there. How's faith doing? What? I thought she was resting comfortably. I'll be right there. I'm on my way.

Chelsea: I'm working on my recovery.

Victor: Oh.

Chelsea: I don't have time for your empty threats or intimidation tactics.

Victor: Working on your recovery, huh? I won't let you get away with it. My son has a chance to start a new life. You won't stop him. What I want you to do is go to the cops, confess your crime, and clear adam's name. When you do that, I won't take your son away from you.

Chloe: You can't do that.

Chelsea: You wouldn't dare.

Victor: You want to try me? Hmm? Wouldn't be difficult to get custody of your son. His father's a fugitive. His mother's a con artist recovering from a stroke.

Chelsea: Those are not grounds for taking my son from me.

Victor: Don't you know me well enough by now? I can bring all kinds of things to bear in this case. Now, chelsea, you think wisely on it.

[ Sirens wailing ]

Adam: He's down here!

Nick: You came back.

Adam: I said I would, nick.

Nick: It's too much of a risk, man. You should have gone straight to genoa city. What if you got arrested?

Adam: [ Chuckles ] Well, I skipped the police. I went to the fire station. Firefighters usually don't ask a lot of questions -- they just want to help. Did have to give them a fake name, though.

Nick: What name did you give them?

Adam: Billy abbott.

Nick: Solid.

Adam: Yeah. I had them bring an ambulance, too. I saw that gash in your leg. That's why I couldn't leave you here. Couldn't risk them not getting to you in time.

Nick: Thank you.

Adam: Well, don't thank me yet. Wait till we get out of here and we're back on the jet to genoa city to help faith. So you ready to go home?

Nick: Yeah.
