Episode #12094 ~ Billy gets the upper hand. Rey sets a trap for Chelsea. Nikki opens up to Faith about her road to recovery.

Billy: Wow! You look amazing. I'm sorry I missed a moment of your hotness.

Lily: Aw, thank you. You're forgiven. Come. So, what is the big scoop?

Billy: You're not gonna believe this.

Lily: Okay, try me.

Billy: Ashland locke had a heart attack.

Lily: What?!

Billy: Yeah, and that's not it. Victor stole cyaxares from victoria. Victoria then banned victor from newman, basically shutting the door on him even coming into the building.

Lily: So how did you learn about all of this?

Nikki: Victoria. Hannah told me you were here.

Victoria: Hi. Yes, I had a dinner meeting that wrapped up early. What's going on?

Nikki: I know you saw your father.

Victoria: Indeed, I did.

Nikki: So what happened? I asked victor, and he didn't want to get into it with me.

Victoria: I decided that i liked your perspective -- that losing cyaxares frees me up to do whatever I want at newman, with no interference from dad or anyone else.

Nikki: Is that what you told him?

Victoria: In so many words.

Nikki: I need to know exactly what was said.

Victoria: [ Chuckles ] I just made it clear that he can't stroll in and start handing out advice. I don't need or want his guidance, and from now on, I'm gonna do what I want to do.

Nikki: So you escalated the tension.

Victoria: No, mother, dad did that. I just responded.

Nikki: Oh, victoria.

Victoria: Look, I am so sick and tired of dad's disingenuous excuses for poor, poor adam. I'm gonna go my way, and dad can go his way. Oh, I know, he could play with his new media toy -- you know, the one that he got from the man who had a heart attack.

Nikki: I sincerely hope that your father did not take advantage of ashland when he was in distress.

Victoria: Mother, you said that he was at his most ruthless.

Nikki: Yes, I did.

Victoria: Why are you questioning whether or not dad put the screws to locke when he had the chance? In my mind, I know that he coerced the man when he was at his most vulnerable.

Nikki: If you believe that, what do you intend to do about it?

Chelsea: I was actually able to feed myself today.

Nate: So your fine motor skills are coming along nicely.

Chelsea: And I wanted to show you -- look. Oof, I'm able to stand now and I can walk a little. Sorry. One sec. Ooh. Okay.

Nate: Okay. This is something, chelsea.

Chelsea: Ohh!

[ Laughs ] That's okay. It's okay, I got it, I got it. See? I'M... oh, I should sit. I'm getting stronger and stronger every day. Ahh.

Nate: Chelsea, this is amazing. You're making incredible progress. Well on your way to a full recovery.

Chelsea: Well, that's the hope.

Nate: [ Sighs ] I know it was a slow, painful process in the beginning, but look at you now.

Chelsea: It's all thanks to my amazing doctors, and that includes you.

Nate: That's very kind of you, but inaccurate.

You did this. Don't underestimate all you've accomplished.

Chelsea: Well, when I get frustrated and wish I had my old life back, I take comfort in what I've been able to achieve so far.

Faith: I already told mom all of this.

Nick: Great. Well, now you get a chance to fill me in. How was your first day back at school?

Faith: Kind of strange.

Nick: Hmm. Were all the kids decent to you?

Faith: Everyone knew I'd spent the morning in court. Half of the kids were smirking and whispering about the trouble I'm in, and the other half basically ignored me.

Nick: Sounds about right.

Faith: There was this guy, wayne, who's a year ahead of me. Total jerk.

Nick: There's usually one. What did he say to you?

Faith: Just all this nasty stuff about how I got jordan in trouble.

Sharon: Well, what did you do when he said that?

Faith: I didn't get a chance to do anything, because moses stepped in and shut him down.

Sharon: Aww, well, that must have felt nice.

Faith: Yeah, it did.

Sharon: It's great that you've made a new friend. One who's willing to stand up for you.

Nick: Also helps that we really know his family.

Faith: I told him I could handle it, and I could have. But honestly, it meant a lot, having him risk making an enemy on his first day at a new school. It was cool...and brave.

Nate: I'm sure it's got to be upsetting knowing the events that triggered your breakthrough was adam going on the run and a police search turning up a vial of thallium in his belongings. How are you coping with that?

Chelsea: [ Exhales sharply ] I mean, I'm still shocked. Although, in retrospect, it's not that surprising that adam would poison rey, as terrible as it sounds, considering his history with sharon.

Nate: Has there been any news about him?

Chelsea: He's vanished. Probably gone for good this time. I mean, he can't come back to genoa city after he poisoned a police detective.

Nate: So what does this mean for you? What are your plans?

Chelsea: Well, once I'm strong enough, I'm gonna go be with my son. And I'm gonna leave genoa city and all the bad memories behind.

Nate: Well, wherever you end up, I hope you find peace.

Chelsea: Thank you, nate, for all you've done for me. You've always had faith in me. You're a good man and a great doctor.

Nate: I wish you well, chelsea. I am confident you have the strength to get past this and reclaim your life.

Chelsea: That's my intention. As long as I can continue to fool the person I really have to -- rey rosales.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Rey: Detective rosales. Thanks for getting back to me. What's the latest on adam newman? What do you mean he's nowhere to be found? People don't just disappear. Yeah, well, maybe I have to go about this a different way.

Victoria: If you're worried that I'm gonna use this against dad somehow, don'T. Although if he forced locke to sign this contract under duress, and the man voids the deal because of it, all bets are off.

Nikki: I don't know what exactly transpired between those two before I entered the room. And neither do you.

Victoria: I know how far dad was willing to go to secure this company for himself and for adam, and because of that, mom, I am done being the dutiful daughter at newman.

Nikki: [ Sighs ] Victoria, it just hurts my heart hearing how much your relationship with your father has deteriorated.

Victoria: Whose fault is that?

Nikki: Well, adam'S. If it weren't for all of his schemes and manipulations...

Victoria: You know, actually, he's just as much a victim in this as I am. Not that I'm giving him any excuses, but I can see the big pictures here, and it's not pretty.

Nikki: Well, it sounds like you're placing all the blame at your father's feet.

Victoria: I am, absolutely. Every last bit of this is dad's fault. But I'm not dwelling on it. And I am done seeking his approval and his praise.

Nikki: How many times do i have to tell you that he's is proud of you before you believe me?

Victoria: Oh, well, frankly, I'm done caring.

Nikki: You know, your father still owns newman enterprises. He will always have a say in its direction.

Victoria: Well, that's true, but that doesn't mean that i have to listen to him. His name may be on the building, but that's my name, too. And I've been running things for a while now. I've been down in the trenches, I've been earning trust, I've been forging loyalties. Dad is the one who taught me how important business relationships are. So I highly doubt that he's gonna do anything to damage what I've accomplished. Do you know why? Because it would be bad business, and that is the bottom line for him.

Nikki: Never underestimate his need to control.

Victoria: Well, guess what, mom, I like controlling things, too. I learned from the master. And dad has maintained this hold over me -- it's kept me from taking newman to new places because I was afraid of how he would react to what I was doing, but I don't have to worry about that anymore. I can do whatever I want to do. And there's nothing that dad can do to stop me. I'm gonna take our family company to new heights. I'm counting on you to be in this with me, mom.

Billy: Victoria came to see me while I was getting ready for our dinner. She told me that ashland had had a heart attack and that victor used the man's distress in order to get him to sign over the company.

Lily: That's appalling.

Billy: Tell me about it. Victoria said she was gonna go confront her old man, and that was a show that I did not want to miss.

Lily: Oh, so she was okay with you being there?

Billy: Well, no, no, not exactly. I kind of crashed the party, and I'm glad I did because she let the old man have it, and it was a thing of beauty.

Lily: But she ran to you first with the news. I mean, what's wrong with that picture?

Billy: Well, I think it was a warning. I mean, she wanted to let me know -- let us know -- that victor was now gonna be the owner of cyaxares and that he was gonna, you know, use it against chanccomm. Which was what her worry was from the beginning -- and mine, as well. So I think she was just, you know, helping us be prepared.

Lily: She could have told you that over a phone call or maybe a text. Or, actually, better yet, she could've come to the office and told both of us if that was actually her goal.

Billy: I understand you don't really trust her motives all the time.

Lily: Well, with good reason, right?

Billy: I don't want to worry about my ex's psyche right now, okay? She's gonna be so busy running newman now that victor's out of the picture, and I really don't want you to get all wrapped up in something that you don't need to put energy into. And to be honest, the only thing I want to be wrapped up in... is you. When I get a migraine, I go to the darkest place I can find.

Billy: When I walked in and saw you standing there, you took my breath away. Just like you're doing now.

Lily: Oh, am I?

Billy: I look into your beautiful eyes and everything else just falls away. So let's enjoy this beautiful evening that you've planned for us. No more talk about newman, cyaxares, or business at all, okay? Just you and me, and whatever the night may bring us.

Lily: Oh, I like the sound of that very much.

Nikki: It's been a long day. I've had about all the stress i can handle.

Victoria: I agree, mom. I think you should wind down.

Nikki: Well, why don't I buy you some dessert and we can do that together?

Victoria: I would love that, but I'm meeting with ted from legal in a few minutes. We have some contracts that we need to revise before the start of business tomorrow.

Nikki: Oh, my god, victoria, is there no end to business with you? I mean, even ceos are allowed to go home and see their kids and get a good night's sleep.

Victoria: Oh, mom, sleep is for weaklings.

[ Laughs ] Good night.

Nikki: Good night.

Victoria: Mom? Think about what I said.

Sharon: I hope you know after your first rehab session tomorrow, you can come to me afterwards with any questions.

Faith: No offense, but I'd rather do that with grandma, since, you know...

Sharon: Yeah, nikki lived it.

Faith: I kind of figured she'd know the drill.

Nick: Now, I don't want this to seem like an interrogation, but do you think you could handle just a few more questions?

Faith: You're wondering how my first therapy session went.

Nick: You got it.

Faith: It was okay. The therapist asked me about what was going through my mind when I took the tequila and ran away, what I was feeling and how I'm feeling now. And we talked about different ways that I could have dealt with the way that jordan treated me besides stealing a truck, drinking, and driving without a license. Especially after, you know...

Nick: Cassie?

Faith: We talked about choices and owning our bad decisions, taking responsibility. A lot of what you guys have been saying, so I guess maybe you aren't all that clueless.

Sharon: I'll take that as a compliment.

Faith: I left my books in the booth. I'm gonna grab them in case someone else needs it.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Nick: Okay, I'm gonna head home. You ready to go?

Faith: Can I stay a little longer? Moses is coming by. Like you said, it's good for me to have a friend. Someone we know who's trustworthy and has my back.

Nick: Yeah, we did kind of say that, didn't we?

Faith: Yeah, you did. And finally, someone who doesn't see me as totally messed up. I know I'm grounded for eternity, but I'd really like to thank him again for defending me at school. Please?

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] Everything's happening so slowly. It's driving me nuts! I hate having to lie all the time, and now I'm all alone -- thanks you, chloe. Oh, I just want to get out of here. I want to just go. I want to grab connor and get the hell away from this town, get away from all these toxic people.

[ Knock on door ] Come in, it's open.

[ Door opens ]

[ Door closes ]

Rey: Are you okay? I thought I heard you talking to somebody. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Moses: Hey.

Faith: Hey.

Nick: Moses, how's it going?

Moses: Good, and you?

Nick: Great. I understand you made quite the impression on your first day at walnut grove.

Moses: Yeah. On that wayne guy, anyway.

Nick: I really appreciate you looking out for my little girl.

Moses: Not that she needed it.

Nick: Reminds me of your dad. The kind of man he was. Always thinking about what's right, not what's easy. Been thinking about your dad a lot lately.

Moses: Yeah, I can't believe it's been almost two years.

Nick: Well, you know what, moses? I'm so glad you're back home in genoa city, surrounded by friends and family that loved him.

Moses: Me, too.

Nick: Alright. I'll see you two later.

Moses: You, too.

Nick: You okay?

Sharon: Yeah. I haven't broken it to faith yet. We're just gonna tell her that rey is just working the midnight shift for a while, but he moved out.

Nick: I'm sorry, sharon.

Sharon: Well, things have been strained between us for a while, as you know, and then something happened. I told rey I wanted to talk, and we did, which actually was very incredible. We both really opened up about how much we love each other and how we would like to grow old together.

Nick: That sounds positive.

Sharon: It really was, until just then adam called.

Nick: [ Sighs ] Crap.

Sharon: Yeah, it was not what I wanted, especially in the moment because it really pushed rey past his limit. He said he can't do this anymore.

Nick: Adam doesn't have the best timing, and he has this amazing ability to screw with everyone's lives, even when he's on the run.

Sharon: Something in rey's reaction -- just the way he shut down -- worries me more than if he had just gotten angry. He just cannot get past the connection I had with adam.

Nick: Not being judgmental, not blaming you, it's just every situation that adam's involved in is complicated. I mean, look at mine with him. I am extremely grateful to him for what he did for faith. I mean, he saved her and pulled her out of that truck and got her to the hospital in time. I don't even want to think about what would have happened if he didn't get there when he did.

Sharon: But...?

Nick: He has done terrible -- just awful things to people i love.

Sharon: He may have cost me my marriage.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] I was talking to myself, enjoying the return of my voice. I'm actually a little embarrassed that you overheard me.

Rey: Don't worry about it.

Chelsea: Well, how can I help you, detective?

Rey: I have an idea. A way to lure adam out of hiding. The more time that goes by, the easier it is for him to cover his steps. Stay one step ahead us.

Chelsea: I'm listening.

Rey: Adam tried to kill me. And he betrayed you in the worst way, and I want him to pay for that and for all the damage that he's done to the people of this town.

Chelsea: What is it you think I can do?

Rey: Bring connor back to genoa city. Convince adam that his son is sick and that he needs his father.

Chelsea: You want to use my son as bait??

Rey: I realize that this is a lot to ask.

Chelsea: The answer is no. I can't risk adam getting anywhere near connor. That's the whole point of why i filed a restraining order so he can't visit him at his school. There's no telling what adam could say, what he could do. He could... he could grab connor and leave the country!

Rey: Mm, the way that we'd set it up, adam would never have a chance to get near the boy. Connor would be completely safe.

Chelsea: No, rey.

Rey: Would you just please just hear me out? Okay, connor would be completely surrounded by undercover police ready to apprehend adam. But the only way that it works is if adam is convinced that connor's sick and that you brought him here for treatment. We would have to make it completely believable.

Chelsea: This plan that you're proposing -- if it worked -- would result in connor's father being carted off to jail. He's a smart kid. He would know he was a part of this. He would know that he was being used as a lure.

[ Scoffs ] It would traumatize him. Have you even thought about that? Oh. Oh, you have, you just don't care. Okay. It's worth it to you. That's how badly you want to see adam in handcuffs?

Rey: Don't you?

Chelsea: You know, everything I've heard about, rey, is that you're a good cop. Principled. A man of integrity.

Rey: Yeah, I like to think so.

Chelsea: Has adam gotten so far under your skin, on account of sharon, that you're willing to throw all that away?

Nick: Rey loves you. This is just a setback. He just needs some time, sharon. It wasn't that long ago he was laying in a hospital bed. He almost died. But then he found that evidence that points to adam.

Sharon: I just hate the position I'm in. I honestly don't believe that adam tried to poison rey. I think that chelsea set him up. But saying that, I sound like I'm defending the person who poisoned my husband. And not saying it means that I'm helping the person who's responsible to get away with it.

Faith: So I am officially in therapy. I'll be helping out here and babysitting a lot so I can pay off my fine. Plus, I'm gearing up for rehab. Whoo-hoo.

Moses: So how are you with the rehab part?

Faith: I get why the judge is making me do it. I'm just not sure...

Moses: About what?

Faith: A part of me doesn't feel like what I think of when i picture someone who's being treated for alcohol abuse.

Moses: Okay. Well, the last time we talked about this, I mentioned going to alateen meetings with my dad.

Faith: Yeah, what's that like? The 12-step stuff?

Moses: Probably the biggest thing for me is not feeling like you're alone. Realizing that there are so many people who you'd never even imagine are dealing with this. My dad, I mean, he was this hugely successful guy, and it seemed like his life was perfect from the outside, but it wasn'T. He was just really good at hiding that part of himself. So addiction, whether it's drugs, alcohol, or whatever it is, needing help to stay in control, it's nothing to be, like, ashamed of. Now, the fact that you haven't even offered to buy me a brownie yet, that's something to feel embarrassed about.

Faith: [ Laughs ] You didn't tell me you were hungry.

Sharon: Well, what's most important now is that faith is safe and well, and she's on the path toward better things.

Nick: Amen.

Sharon: We almost lost her, nick, but she's going to be okay.

Nikki: Well, I didn't think you would be here this late.

Sharon: Well, faith met a new friend.

Nick: Moses winters. He's an impressive kid. Reminds me a lot of his dad.

Sharon: So we're giving them some hang-out time.

Nikki: Well, well, what a welcome sight.

Billy: That was one of the most delicious, eclectic meals I've had in a very long time. You're knocking it out of the park. This is a perfect evening so far.

Lily: So far? Sorry, are you not satisfied?

Billy: Oh, no, no. Are you kidding me? I'm loving every minute of this. Every one of my favorite dishes, lola prepared them perfectly, but now the focus is on you because you know the main goal is always...

Lily: Ah, mutual satisfaction.

Billy: You read my mind.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Well, maybe we should discuss this topic more in depth, and when I say "discuss," I mean...

Billy: I know exactly what you mean. I'm already one step ahead of you. I paid the bill. I've already given my compliments to the chef, so...

Lily: Alright, well, let's get this show on the road, yeah?

Billy: That's what I'm talking about.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Victoria: Oh. Hello, you two. Hi.

Lily: Hello.

Billy: Didn't expect to see you again.

Victoria: I'm meeting with one of my department heads.

Lily: I heard about victor's power play, by the way, and it sounds outrageous.

Victoria: Obviously, billy filled you in.

Billy: Yeah, you really let the man have it. I don't think I've ever been prouder of you.

Victoria: Well, there is a downside. Now that my father no longer has a say at newman and I'm not taking his advice, he's gonna have a lot of time on his hands. He might use that, and his new company, to come after you and chanccomm.

Lily: Well, I think billy and I are a formidable team, so we can handle whatever challenge comes our way.

Victoria: Well, in any other case, I might agree, but we're talking about my father. You think you might be a match for him, but you're not. Bring. On. Spring.

Nick: If faith is more comfortable talking to you about her recovery program, we're okay with that, assuming you are.

Nikki: Oh, absolutely. I'd welcome it. Hello, darling.

Faith: Hi, grandma.

Nikki: Moses, how good to see you again.

Moses: You, too, mrs. Newman.

Nikki: Oh, please, call me nikki. I understand you're gonna be staying in town for a while visiting.

Moses: Yeah, nate's showing me the ropes on what being a doctor's all about.

Nikki: Wow! What a wonderful opportunity. Neil was one of my favorite people in all the world. We were dear friends. And he spoke of you fondly and often.

Moses: Thank you. I really appreciate you telling me that. Anyway, I should go. I promised devon I'd be home soon.

Faith: I'm really glad you stopped by.

Moses: I enjoyed it. Good night, mrs. Newman. I mean nikki.

Nikki: [ Chuckles ] Good night, moses.

Moses: I'll catch you later.

Nikki: Well, it is nice to see you laughing and smiling again. How are things going?

Faith: I had my first therapy appointment today. Not sure how I feel about that yet.

Nikki: It takes some getting used to.

Faith: Then tomorrow, I start my court-ordered rehab after school. I was terrified, but now not quite so much. Moses told me about alateen, and he made it seem almost normal.

Nikki: Well, it's always nice to have the support of a friend.

Faith: I've been thinking about what you said before. That it takes some kind of courage to be honest.

Nikki: And you definitely have that. Not to say that you won't be nervous or self-conscious in the beginning. But just know that everybody else there is gonna be feeling the same thing.

Faith: I'll try to remember that.

Nikki: The thing about recovery is it teaches you how to deal with some of life's complicated things in a healthier way.

Faith: I have a lot to learn.

Nikki: Hey, there's no rush. You have the rest of your life. Recovery isn't an end point. It's an ongoing choice.

Faith: "One day at a time," right?

Nikki: Exactly. And just know that I will be there with you every step of the way.

Nick: You've said what you think is the truth about chelsea -- that she's behind all this. But what you need to do now is focus on your husband. Make him feel like he's the only thing that matters in this world. That is what rey needs right now. That's how he's gonna be able to separate his feelings about adam and his love for you, and then find his way back to you.

Rey: I was focused on the goal, drawing adam out of hiding. I told myself I could pull it off without causing any real harm to connor. That the end would justify the means.

Chelsea: We're talking about a young, impressionable boy who loves his father with all his heart. Connor has experienced so much loss in his life, his sense of family is extremely fragile.

Rey: You know, the idea that adam is still out there, free to do even more damage -- possibly worming himself into somebody else's life -- the way he did with you and sharon -- literally makes me sick. It keeps me up at night. It's gotten to the point where my hatred for this guy is taking over any good in my life.

Chelsea: Believe me, I know what it's like, letting adam become an obsession.

Billy: Now, you said something about dessert?

Lily: Uh-huh. But I think, now that we're facing new challenges, maybe we should talk about various strategies.

Billy: Okay, well, as the "vision" part of the team...

Lily: Mm-hmm.

Billy: ...I have plenty of ideas that I would love to share.

Lily: Oh, well, as the half of the team whose job it is to maintain strict fiscal discipline...

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Victoria newman. Sure, I remember you. I assume that you're wanting a quote. Absolutely, on the record. I wish my father all of the success in his new endeavor. I will remain focused on newman enterprises, now and always.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Chelsea: I've been where you are. Obsessed with something. Watching it slowly take over my entire life.

Rey: It scares me that my loathing for adam could push me to do something I might regret.

Chelsea: Doing the right thing is in your dna. You're not like the rest of us, rey.

[ Sighs ]

Coming up on "the young and the restless"...

Victor: The longer this goes on, the more damage it does to my family and to our reputation, and I won't have that. Make sure that he finds the culprit.

Kyle: I know tara a little better than you do, and I trust her.

Summer: Really, even though she's lied to you before?

Jack: What did she lie to you about?

Nick: Elena, we could use a doctor.

Elena: What's the problem?

Nick: It's faith -- she passed out and we don't why.
