Episode #12073 ~ Nikki plays matchmaker. Adam accuses Chloe of setting him up. Nick gives Sharon some tough love.

Kyle: [ Sighs ]

[ Door opens ]

Summer: Oh. So this is where you've been hiding out.

Kyle: Not hiding. Working. And waiting for the other shoe from manhattan to drop.

Summer: Still worried about ashland?

Kyle: I can't help it. Tara thought he was suspicious, I thought she was overreacting, and the next thing I know, he's calling me.

Summer: Yeah, but it was just an innocent business conversation about a potential promotion for jabot, right?

Kyle: That's why it was so suspicious. Why would he call himself about something so minor and routine? It's because he's trying to create a reason to connect with me because he's suspicious about my history with tara. The guy isn't just calling out of the blue. He's testing me.

Phyllis: Hey, jack. To what do I owe the pleasure? Visiting sally?

Jack: No, I'm here to see you. We have some unfinished business.

Phyllis: Mm, I thought when we parted ways we didn't have anything left to discuss. Um... I can't anyway right now. I'm really busy.

Jack: You're up to something, phyllis. Something's going on. And this time, I'm not leaving till I find out what it is.

Nikki: It certainly has been a tumultuous few days.

Faith: I'm so glad that rey's been released from the hospital.

Nick: I'm even more relieved that you and your mother got tested and that no trace of thallium came up in either one of your systems.

Nikki: Yes, we're all grateful that everybody is okay.

Faith: I still wonder exactly how this happened to rey.

Nick: I'm sure we'll get more answers in time, but right now you just need to focus on what you're doing. You've opened up to everyone. You've agreed to therapy. Just keep doing what you're doing, kid, alright? And just know we are here for whatever it is you need.

Faith: Thank you.

[ Cellphone ringing ]

Nick: Sorry. Yep. I need to take this. I'll be right back.

Nikki: Yet another family moment interrupted by a phone. I think I should institute a "no device" zone for the ranch.

[ Cellphone chimes ] Go ahead. Oh, well, whatever that was seems to have made you happy.

Faith: Well, I've been texting with this boy from school, and he's super sweet and supportive, but he hasn't told me his name yet.

Nikki: [ Gasps ] Oh, you have a secret admirer.

Faith: Mm-hmm. And he just told me he wants us to meet for the first time.

Nikki: Well, that's very mysterious and exciting.

Faith: Yeah. I really want to go. If I promise to be on my best behavior, would you take me?

Nikki: I would be happy to, as long as both of your parents sign off on it.

Faith: [ Sighs ] So, I'm not trying to keep this a secret or anything, but I'm worried that dad will make a big deal out of it for no reason.

Nikki: Yes, he can be protective.

Faith: Overprotective.

Nikki: Well, darling, after everything you've been through, I think you should be up front with him and your mother. A little honesty goes a long way in rebuilding trust.

Faith: I guess you're right.

Rey: It's good to be home. What's wrong?

Sharon: It just makes me sick to think that there was poison in this house and that you almost died. Something could have happened to faith. I don't know if I will ever see this place the same way again.

Adam: You two all finished?

Dr. Cavett: Yes. I was hoping you could join us for a moment.

Adam: Of course. Thanks for squeezing in this unscheduled appointment to check on chelsea's condition.

Dr. Cavett: Well, you made it sound urgent when you called.

Adam: Yeah, even though meredith and I haven't personally witnessed a shift, we were wondering if there had been a change when we weren't here to see it.

Dr. Cavett: You thought chelsea might have regained some movement, then was unable to repeat it for you?

Adam: Just a thought. Now, were you able to detect any progress today?

Dr. Cavett: I'm sorry, but there's no sign that chelsea's doing any better than she was during our last session.

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] Aw, you're always just one step behind, aren't you? You're not going to know the truth until I'm ready, and by then, it will be too late.

Rey: I know why you feel shaken. I do, too. When I think about someone invading this house, a space we all felt safe in, it is frightening and infuriating. But we cannot let those feelings overwhelm us. This is our home, and we are going to reclaim it. The entire house has been swept for thallium, and all traces have been removed. I am getting stronger by the minute, and thank god you and faith are healthy.

Sharon: I'm grateful for all of those things, but I just can't stop thinking about what might have been.

Rey: We are going to take every precaution from here on out, and I am going to be back to my old self in no time. You know, I'm a little relieved that the thallium was only found in my personal belongings because that means no one was out to hurt you. I was the target. So now I need to figure out who would have gone through all that trouble to poison me and get me out of the way.

Adam: You are 100% certain there hasn't been the slightest change?

Dr. Cavett: [ Sighs ] I understand that you're looking for hope, given the lack of progress so far, and I know this is frustrating for the both of you. But I'm afraid there's just no set timetable for chelsea's recovery. I have to run to another appointment. I don't want you to lose faith. Keep working and staying positive, okay?

[ Door opens ]

Adam: Thanks for coming.

Dr. Cavett: Of course.

[ Door closes ]

Adam: Yes. I called the doctor over here because in the back of my mind, I was wondering if you found a way to send those texts to sharon. "I can't stop thinking about you." "What I wouldn't do for both of us to be free." "Please don't ignore me." And when she did reply, she told me to leave her alone. But maybe you already know that.

[ Sighs ] Look, I swear to you that I am not trying to hurt you. But if you didn't send them, if you couldn't have sent them, then who did? I know I dismissed the idea yesterday, but it had to be her. It had to be. Chloe. Chelsea and I need to see you. Now.

Nikki: We have something we'd like to run by you. Faith would like me to take her to meet a new friend.

Nick: This is the, uh -- the friend you were talking about from school, the one you've been texting with?

Faith: Yeah.

Nick: I wasn't, you know, eavesdropping, but I -- I caught a part of your conversation with phyllis.

Faith: You did? Dad, gross!

Nick: So [Sighs]... This kid's a boy?

Faith: [ Sighs ]

Nick: Alright, just give me one second, okay? Um...

[ Chuckles ] What's his name? Uh, what grade is he in?

Faith: I don't know.

Nick: Well, what do you mean? What do you mean, you don't know?

Nikki: There's a bit of playful mystery involved. That's why I would be taking her and see for myself who this anonymous young man is. And then, if faith is comfortable and I approve, i will keep a discreet distance while the kids talk.

Faith: It's not that weird. I mean, it's just...

Nikki: It's romantic.

Nick: Is it, mom? It's romantic? I mean, I knew this day was coming, but I was hoping for, like, 10 more years.

Faith: Dad, just please say yes, okay? This boy has been nice to me when everyone else has been pretty awful. He's happy I stood up to the bullies. I just want to meet him and thank him.

Nick: Well, your grandmother will be with you the entire time.

Faith: Yeah.

Nikki: Yes, I will.

Nick: [ Sighs heavily ] Alright.

Faith: Yay. Thank you. And you're saying yes on behalf of mom, too, right?

Nick: [ Chuckles ] I will talk to her. I'm sure she'll be okay with it.

Faith: Great. I'm gonna text him.

Nikki: I will keep a very close eye on her.

Nick: [ Sighs ] Thank you for agreeing to go with her. I don't think I'd be able to keep my cool. So it's definitely better if you go with her than me.

Nikki: I think we all agree with that.

Nick: And so it begins. Boys.

Summer: You don't know that ashland knows anything for sure.

Kyle: No, but I got a weird feeling from that call. Then this morning he e-mailed saying that he would be back in genoa city in a few days to finalize his deal with adam and victor and he wants to meet to discuss his proposal.

Summer: Okay, well, maybe it's just what he says it is -- a potential business opportunity.

Kyle: Come on. The guy hasn't stepped foot in genoa city in how many years? Now he makes back-to-back trips?

Summer: Yeah, I mean, it's a little strange, but I don't think you need to freak out quite yet.

Kyle: Mm. Too late for that. My dad knows something's up. I practically took his head off yesterday when he started asking questions.

Summer: Yeah, well, you could just play that off.

Kyle: I'm not so sure I want to. If tara's right about ashland's suspicions, maybe it's time for me to come clean with my dad.

Summer: About everything?

Kyle: At least about the affair and the fact that ashland might be a threat -- because he won't just come after me. He'll come after everything i care about...and jabot.

Summer: Yeah, I mean, I think it's a good idea to keep your dad in the loop, but only if you're sure.

Kyle: Yeah, I was holding off to find out if I had reason to worry.

[ Chuckles ] Now I do. And my father deserves to hear it directly from me.

Jack: The way you were acting yesterday is eating at me. I mean, you hound me to come talk to you, and then when I get here, this urgent matter suddenly just resolves itself.

Phyllis: I don't see what the big deal is. I reached out to you, and then i realized I didn't really need to discuss the matter and -- hey, listen, you should be happy that I'm not burdening you with the whole thing.

Jack: Ordinarily, I would be, but there's more to this. Earlier you told me you were worried about kyle. Then you told me you had no reason to be, that summer never told you anything about kyle. Of course I know because you told me more than once that you and summer discussed everything. Now, you are all over the map about our kids. I am concerned. I am ticked off that you would keep me in the dark about my son. Now, tell me what's going on. What are you hiding from me?

Sally: You know, I hate to interrupt. Actually, I'm not. Sorry. I... this is urgent. I've lost count of how many asthma attacks I've had.

Sally: Jack, we have a meeting with lauren soon, and you mentioned you needed some prep time beforehand, so we should head to jabot.

Jack: I'm not gonna need any prep time, and we're not finished here.

Phyllis: Yes, we are. Hey, listen, I don't know what's going on, but I think that maybe you're projecting your concerns about kyle onto me. And, honestly, everything is okay, jack. It's all okay. And, you know, those texts -- maybe I was just being a little dramatic. I could do that sometimes, you know, and I was just embarrassed because I made such a fuss about the whole thing. So, honestly, it's all okay. Can we just put it to bed?

Jack: Okay.

Phyllis: [ Sighs ]

Nick: You want to tell me what that was all about?

Faith: He said he'll be carrying a red backpack.

Nikki: Hmm. Well, honey, I know you're excited to meet this boy, and i hope he's just as sweet as he has been in his texts to you. But you may have built him up a little bit in your head, and he might not be exactly what you're expecting. I mean, he might look different, and once you meet face-to-face, it might be a bit awkward.

Faith: I know. I mean, I don't think prince charming's gonna walk through the door.

Nikki: You don't? Not a little bit?

Faith: [ Sighs ] I wouldn't mind if he was cute.

[ Laughs ]

Nikki: Well, I hope he's cute, too.

Faith: Grandma!

[ Both laugh ] Mostly, I just want to thank him in person for being a friend when I needed one.

Chloe: What happened? Is everything okay with chelsea?

Adam: She's fine.

Chloe: Okay. Well, your tone made it sound like something terrible happened.

Adam: I have a question for you. Chelsea and I both do.

Chloe: About what?

Adam: Someone sent some texts to sharon from one of my devices, pretending to be me, making it seem like I wanted to be with her instead of chelsea.

Chloe: Okay. So, why are you telling me?

Adam: Since my phone is always with me, my first thought was someone hacked it.

Chloe: [ Chuckles ] Fascinating.

Adam: [ Chuckles ] So, how'd you do it?

Chloe: Seriously? You're accusing me?

Adam: I haven't heard a denial yet.

Chloe: Well, I'm denying it. That is ridiculous. Plus, I would never even know how to break into your phone.

Adam: But your husband would.

Chloe: Kevin works in the gcpd now, and even if I had asked him, which I didn't, he would tell me to take a hike.

Adam: Okay, let's put a pin in that for a second and consider the next possibility, which is much more likely. You used my tablet. You've been spending awfully a lot of time with chelsea lately. In fact, when I interrupted yesterday, I picked up on a weird vibe.

Chloe: You and I have always had a weird vibe, adam.

Adam: [ Sighs ] If you are interfering in my personal life, just come clean now...because if I find out you're to blame, I'm not going to be so forgiving, chloe.

Rey: I know you don't want to hear this, but we have to address the obvious.

Sharon: Okay. Do we have to do it right now? I really think you should focus on your recovery.

Rey: Whether you want to believe this or not, adam is the prime suspect.

Sharon: I know that you feel he's responsible, but he's not the only possibility. I mean, you are a police detective. You've probably made a lot of enemies. Anyone you've arrested, someone you've testified against.

Rey: Yeah, it is possible that one of them did it. But a more likely one comes to mind when I consider who has access to the ranch because of victor, who has never gotten over his feelings for you and has been pursuing you and will do everything he can to keep that connection alive. Who would be happy if I were gone and you were suddenly free?

Sharon: Okay. It's just hard for me to wrap my head around him actually doing something like this.

Rey: Something like what? Like killing me? It's not that hard of a leap considering his history. And let's not forget adam despises me, and, frankly, i feel the same way.

Sharon: I hear you. But right now you and I are just speculating. We need facts.

Rey: I agree. And I am going to get them. I promise you this -- whoever is responsible for this is going to pay.

Faith: [ Sighs ] He should be here by now. I guess he's not coming.

Nikki: Well, any number of things could have happened. Hopefully you'll hear from him soon.

[ Cellphone pings ]

Faith: You called it. It's him. He says he's sorry and his parents are super strict. They wouldn't let him get away. He says he promises he'll make it up to me and he still wants to meet. It'll just have to be another time.

Nikki: Well, at least he explained the circumstances.

Faith: Yeah. It's not his fault.

Nikki: I think this emotional roller coaster has earned us a little treat. So why don't I get a couple of pastries, and then we can go home?

Faith: Sounds good.

Nick: My instinct tells me not to ask, but... what's going on here?

Phyllis: Uh, just a simple misunderstanding.

Nick: I heard you backing down. What are you up to?

Phyllis: Ugh. You sound like jack. You guys should form a club.

Nick: We already have a club. Oh, yeah. It's called the ex-husbands club, which means we know when you have something up your sleeve. Is this about jack seeing sally?

Phyllis: I mean...

Nick: Can you just -- just let it go? If he wants to see sally, then let him. It's really none of your business.

Phyllis: I know it's none of my business, and I don't care if he sees sally. I don't care. But that girl cannot be trusted.

Nick: So you keep saying.

Phyllis: Yes! And I'm right. She's taking advantage of him, and I'm watching out for my friend.

Nick: Okay. Fair enough.

Phyllis: Okay. I mean, you have more important things going on right now.

Nick: Yeah. I do.

Phyllis: Is everything okay? 'Cause you -- you took faith for the lab test. And is she okay? And sharon?

Nick: They're both fine.

Phyllis: Okay.

Nick: In fact, afterward, faith went to see that, uh... that boy that she's interested in.

Phyllis: Oh!

Nick: My mother went along to chaperone.

Phyllis: Okay, that's why you're in such a bad mood.

Nick: [ Sighs ] Actually, something else has me on edge.

Chloe: I have no idea what adam is talking about. I never sent anything to sharon. I would never stir up things between the two of them because I know that would only cause you pain. Tell me you believe me. Thank you. I think you're deflecting blame.

Adam: What?!

Chloe: Yeah, my guess is that you made a pass at sharon and you got busted. So instead of pointing the finger at someone who is innocent, I suggest you start owning up to what you did and you beg for chelsea's forgiveness.

Adam: You cannot possibly believe that.

Chloe: I am so sorry that he is doing this to you and that you have to sit there and you're forced to listen to his accusations and denials.

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] Nice job, chloe. Now bring it home. A lot of people think dealing with copd is a walk in the park.

Phyllis: Somebody broke in to the house and laced rey's shaving cream with poison?

Nick: I know. It's pretty out there.

Phyllis: That is scary. Who would do that? I mean, somebody who has a grudge, but, I mean, that is next-level, twisted stuff.

Nick: Well, I can only think of one person whose mind is that twisted who would do it and who has reason to resent rey, specifically his marriage.

Phyllis: Adam. Yeah. I know he's a point of contention in rey and sharon's marriage, but are things that intense that he would do something like this?

Nick: When it comes to adam and sharon, things were always intense. And we both know what adam is capable of.

Phyllis: What is sharon saying about this?

Nick: I haven't had a chance to talk to her privately, but I'm gonna run over to her house and do that.

Phyllis: Sharon is not gonna like your theory about adam, okay?

Nick: Well, I'm sure rey has the same idea. And if enough people say it to sharon, maybe she'll start to believe it. But it is way past time that sharon opens her eyes and sees adam for who he really is.

Adam: I'm not in the mood for games, chloe.

Chloe: Neither am I. And I see right through you. You feel like crap because you're the reason why she's in this state. And you're frustrated because she's not getting better, and it hurts so much to see her stuck in that chair, unable to express her thoughts. So, who do you run to when you're spinning out? Sharon!

Adam: For the last time, there's nothing going on with me and sharon. I am devoted to chelsea.

Chloe: I think that photo of you kissing sharon says otherwise.

Adam: What?

Chloe: You heard me.

Adam: [ Sighs ] Chelsea, what she's talking about -- it was a mistake. It was one stupid moment that I deeply regret. And it meant nothing. That's why I didn't tell you about it, okay? You are the only one that i want. And I've been counting down the days until you are well and we can be with connor again and we can start the next chapter of our life.

Chloe: Wow. I almost believe you.

Adam: Shut up, chloe.

Chloe: You know what? Here's a theory. Maybe you sent the text messages, and then you felt so guilty about it afterward, you just -- you forgot about it. You know, it wouldn't be the first time that you mentally buried something you were ashamed of.

Adam: Stop it. I am warning you, chloe.

Chloe: Oh, well, now you know how it feels to be attacked for something that I didn't do. Just because you feel like lashing out at someone.

Adam: No, that's not what I'm doing. I have every reason in the world to suspect it was you. You would do anything to get chelsea to leave me. It's what you've always wanted.

Chloe: I want nothing more than for chelsea to get better. And, yeah, you're right. I wish that you were out of her life, but I don't need to lift a finger to make that happen because you are going to sabotage this relationship all on your own because that's what you've always done.

Rey: Thank you, michael. I'll see you shortly.

Sharon: I wish you would at least take a day for yourself. The gcpd is on this.

Rey: I can't just sit around.

Sharon: Well, you wouldn't have to, but you do have to take care or yourself!

Nikki: Rey, it's good to see you. I was so happy when I heard you were on the mend. Welcome home.

Rey: Thank you.

Faith: What's going on between you? Are you fighting?

Sharon: No, no. I'm just worried about rey. I wish he would take a day and rest rather than driving straight back into work.

Rey: And I'm telling her that everything is fine. There's nothing to worry about.

Sharon: What are you two doing here anyway? I thought that you were meeting a friend, faith.

Faith: Yeah, well, it ended up not happening.

Sharon: Why don't we go riding instead? Go put your riding clothes on.

Faith: Okay.

Nikki: Nicholas told me that rey was personally targeted with a chemical?

Sharon: We're not talking about those details in front of faith right now. I think it would be best if she could stay with you and victor for the time being.

Rey: Just till we get this all sorted out.

Nikki: Yes, of course.

Rey: [ Groans ] Speaking of that, I should go get changed, go see michael.

Sharon: I thought that he was coming here.

Rey: I'm not gonna tell the D.A. To come to me.

Sharon: And you don't want to have your conversation with him in my presence.

Nikki: I'm surprised he's feeling well enough to jump back into work.

Sharon: Yeah, well, I don't like it, but he assures me that he's okay.

Nikki: Do they have any idea who's behind this?

Sharon: No.

Nikki: But rey suspects someone?

[ Gasps ] Oh, my god. It's adam, isn't it?

Sharon: There is zero evidence of that right now.

Nikki: Well, it's pretty easy to suspect him. I mean, it certainly wouldn't be a stretch for him, would it? He almost killed victor by switching out his medications. That's a form of poisoning right there. I'm gonna have to tell victor about this because he and adam have become close again. They're about to embark on a new business venture.

Sharon: Could you hold off on that for just a little while, just until we have concrete information? I mean, it wouldn't be fair to blow up adam's life -- if, in fact, it turns out that he is innocent.

Nikki: You are really something. Even now, your first instinct is to defend adam. I can only imagine the toll that's taking on rey. (Geri) I smoked and I have copd.

Lauren: Okay, so, the new fragrance will be in the stores in three months, which gives us enough time to ramp up the marketing campaign.

Jack: Right. We are all in sync then?

Sally: Yep.

Lauren: Yes, we are. Okay, I need to run. I will text you later. There are some things I want to follow up on.

Sally: Great.

Lauren: Talk to you later tonight.

Jack: Thanks. Hey, I thought maybe we could, uh, go for a drive again this afternoon. You know, I can teach you a few more things about driving in the snow in your new car.

Sally: Sign me up.

Jack: And maybe we could stop for a little lunch at a new place I found -- you know, make a day of it.

Sally: That sounds wonderful.

Kyle: Hey. Um, I need to speak to my father alone, if you don't mind.

Sally: Uh, sure. Yeah. No problem. I will catch up with you later.

Kyle: I wanted to apologize for the way I shut you down yesterday. I know you're only trying to help, and the way I behaved was unacceptable.

Jack: Well, I'm just glad you're here now. You said you were fine. It's pretty clear you're not.

Kyle: Yeah. You're right, dad. I'm definitely not okay.

Chloe: I'll let you implode your relationship all on your own. And when that happens, I'll be here for chelsea, and I will help her pick up the pieces. Meanwhile, you should stop wasting your time wondering if I'm plotting against you.

Adam: Okay, all this hot air -- it just hasn't convinced me that you didn't send the messages. Just the opposite, actually, because you cannot control yourself when it comes to your hatred for me.

Chloe: Maybe that was true once. But I lost everything because of it. And now I live a shockingly pleasant and normal life, a life that I love. I would never risk my happiness or my family'S. And I would never let myself get caught up in that vicious cycle because you are not worth it.

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] Damn, chloe. Remind me to never get on your bad side.

Chloe: I need to get going. I will be here to help you with whatever you need. Just take care of yourself.

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] I will. It won't be long now.

Adam: The fact remains that someone sent those messages from this, and there was only three other people who had access -- you...

Chloe: Not guilty.

Adam: ...Chelsea...

Chloe: Physically impossible.

Adam: ...And meredith.

Chloe: Well, that's absolutely ridiculous. You know, you're always bragging about how you're so much smarter than everyone else. I'm sure that you will figure this out sooner or later.

Adam: I always do.

[ Sighs ]

Rey: The first person we should look at is adam. He had motive, access, and the temperament to pull something like this off.

Michael: You make a compelling argument. But you can't let your prejudices, no matter how justified they may be, narrow the focus of the investigation.

Rey: I fully understand that, but sometimes you're dealing with occam's razor -- the simplest, most logical explanation is the right one.

Michael: Yeah, I don't disagree, but we don't have the evidence yet that indicates he is the culprit.

Rey: Okay, look, we have to move fast. Adam may be covering his tracks as we speak. He could bolt, or he could be launching a different kind of attack.

Michael: If -- if he's the guilty party.

Rey: That's what I plan to find out. I want to question the guy and do a formal search. Could you petition a judge to get a warrant?

Michael: You know this is highly irregular since you are the victim of the crime. Judges just love that.

Rey: Are you gonna help me or not?

Michael: [ Sighs ] Stouffer's mac and cheese is made with 100% real cheese.

Jack: I want to know what's bothering you. Whatever it is, I won't judge you.

Kyle: There's a problem with ashland locke.

Jack: Does it have something to do with the deal that billy lost to adam and victor?

Kyle: It has nothing to do with business.

Jack: What then?

Kyle: [ Sighs ] I'm not sure the best way to say this, dad.

[ Cellphone thuds ]

Jack: You can tell me anything.

Kyle: I just realized we probably shouldn't discuss this at the office.

Jack: If this is another attempt on your part to back away from talking to me...

Kyle: It's not. I promise I'll tell you everything you want to know. We just need to find somewhere private to do it.

[ Knock on door ]

Sharon: Oh. If you're looking for faith, she went riding with nikki.

Nick: Yeah. Mom texted me. Kind of relieved that boy didn't show up, but, uh, I came here to check on you and rey and see how you're doing 'cause it seems like you're upset, so...

Sharon: Well, rey was poisoned and it was awful and it was terrifying. So, yeah.

Nick: How's rey feeling now?

Sharon: He said he felt well enough to leave and go talk to michael.

Nick: Good.

Sharon: I'm guessing you have the same suspicion as nikki and rey -- that adam is the one who poisoned rey.

Nick: Who else could have done it?

Sharon: I don't know. That's what a proper investigation is for. Look, I understand why you all want to condemn adam. But right now there's not a shred of proof that he was even involved.

Nick: Rey was poisoned and he almost died and you and faith could have been exposed, so, please, no more excuses for adam. Enough is enough.

Nick: Well, he can still love them and want you all to himself, and you know it. When it comes to adam, there's a very fine line between love and hate and obsession, and right now rey is the object of his hatred. And I hope rey and the rest of the cops nail adam for what he's done and he finally gets what he deserves.

Adam: I would never tell chloe this, but, um, her denials were actually pretty convincing, even though I know I can never fully trust her. It's killing me not being able to have a conversation with you. I really wish I could know what you're thinking, what's running through your head, how you're feeling.
