Devon: Hey.
Amanda: Hey. It's okay if I pop in, right?
Devon: Yeah, yeah. For sure it is. Come on inside.
Amanda: Okay. So I will be filing your donor agreement first thing in the morning.
Devon: I thought you already did that.
Amanda: Well, I refined some of the language and I e-mailed you a copy, but I thought it prudent, you know, for me to come over and talk you through the changes in person. Get your okay.
Devon: Do you give all of your clients this special treatment?
Amanda: Well, I am only concerned with the satisfactions and needs of one particular client. But it looks like what you need is a housekeeper. What happened here?
Devon: Eh...
Sharon: Can I get you anything? How about some of lola's soup?
Rey: I can'T.
Sharon: It smells delicious.
Rey: I can'T.
Sharon: Rey, what is it?
Rey: It's my legs and my feet.
Sharon: What do you mean?
Rey: They feel like they're on fire. No, don't -- don't -- don't touch them.
Sharon: Have you ever experienced anything like this before?
Rey: No.
Sharon: Okay, something's very wrong here, and we have got to get you help before you get worse.
Jack: What, are you filling in for the bartender?
Abby: [ Chuckles ] She had a family emergency so i gave her the night off.
Jack: Speaking of family, fill me in on the latest in project baby.
Abby: Well, it's so exciting. To think that when chance returns, we could be well on our way to having a baby of our own. Uncle jack, in just a year, you could be a great-uncle, because I just had my egg retrieval.
Jack: Drum roll, please. And?
Abby: We got almost a dozen eggs -- 10. Can you believe it?
Jack: Wow, that's fantastic.
Abby: We're setting some of those aside and freezing those. But right now, as we speak, those beautiful little eggs are being fertilized.
Jack: Now it's just a matter of time.
Abby: And a little luck.
Jack: Well, if there's anything I can do to --
Abby: I will definitely let you know.
Jack: Well, this day just keeps getting better and better.
Ashland: Jack abbott.
Jack: And you are ashland locke, the man, the myth, the legend.
Ashland: Guilty on all counts. And this is my wife, tara.
Jack: How do you do? Nice to meet you.
Ashland: Tara, this captain of industry is the son of john abbott. Genoa city royalty.
Jack: Oh, I wouldn't go that far.
Ashland: [ Chuckles ] We met his son, kyle. Remember?
Tara: That's right, we did. It's a pleasure to meet you, jack.
Kyle: I know what I'm doing.
Summer: This little boy is your son. Not ashland locke'S.
Kyle: Yes.
Summer: Kyle, I realize what a difficult decision this was for you to make, but you are giving up so much by not acknowledging that you're his biological father.
Kyle: Summer, this is the best course of action for everyone.
Summer: Are you sure you're okay with everyone living a lie?
Kyle: Why are you making me question myself?
Summer: Because, kyle, i don't want you to ever look back on this with regret.
Kyle: [ Sighs ] I had doubts before, but I don't anymore. He has two parents who love him, and that's what matters.
Summer: Okay.
Kyle: I'm so glad I decided to tell you about harrison. I hated keeping the truth from you, especially since keeping secrets has caused so many problems for us in the past.
Summer: Yeah, I just wish you would have realized that I could handle it.
Kyle: I know that now. I was just afraid of losing you again.
Summer: Look, the only way that you're ever gonna lose me is by lying to me. So we just have to promise each other that we are always gonna be honest, even if it means hurt feelings 'cause there is nothing that you and I cannot get through.
Kyle: Summer, I feel like we're even stronger because of this. I've never felt closer to you. And I feel like we can handle whatever the world throws at us, as long as we're together. I love that, and I love you.
Summer: I love you, too. I mean, I feel like we should celebrate that we got through this.
Kyle: Ooh, well, let me buy you dinner at society, and then we'll see where the night takes us. New pronamel mineral boost

Devon: Yeah, looks like you discovered one of my secrets.
Amanda: What's that?
Devon: I can be a slob when I'm tired sometimes. I can spend a few nights late at the studio and coming home and just passing out on the couch listening to tracks, so haven't cleaned up.
Amanda: Well, you must have been exhausted.
Devon: Yeah, I have been. But I was actually about to grab a beer before you showed up. Would you like something?
Amanda: Oh, yes. Yes, please. Make it two.
Devon: Okay, you got it.
Amanda: Well, it shouldn't take us too long to get through the business part of the evening. I only made a few minor changes to the contract. You were really clear about what you wanted, so after, I would love to hear more about what you're working on in the studio, what's getting your creative juices flowing.
Elena: I can't believe we did this again.
Devon: [ Chuckles ]
Elena: [ Sighs ] What are we doing, devon?
Devon: I don't know. I really don't know. We're not making things easier for us, I know that.
Elena: No, we're certainly not.
[ Exhales sharply ]
Nate: Elena?
Elena: Hey, nate.
Nate: Hey, is everything alright?
Elena: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.
Nate: Looked like you had a lot on your mind.
Elena: Oh, I was just thinking about a patient and some other stuff. I guess I do have a lot on my mind.
Nate: Looks like it. I've got some time, if you want to talk.
Jack: Ashland and tara locke, I'd love for you to meet my niece and the owner of this establishment, abby newman abbott chancellor. Did I get that right?
Abby: You did, you did. I know it's a mouthful.
Tara: It's a beautiful restaurant.
Abby: Oh, thank you so much. Welcome. Tonight, I recommend ordering our special. The chef made the most delicious seafood paella.
Tara: Sounds delicious.
Abby: How do you all know each other?
Ashland: I did some business with jack's dad -- your grandfather -- many years ago.
Abby: Wow, you don't say. Well, I would love to hear more about that, but I'm gonna go let the chef now that we have some very special guests this evening. I'll be right back.
Jack: Ashland, I must tell you, my father drilled every move and countermove of that deal into my head.
Ashland: Well, I hope you're not holding that against me.
Jack: Oh, no. Quite the contrary. It was a valuable lesson on how to deal with a tough businessman and still come out ahead.
Ashland: John abbott was a fine man. One of the few successful ones I've done business with who didn't have a ruthless bone in his body. Unlike me. Right, darling?
Tara: You're only tough when the situation calls for it.
Ashland: [ Chuckles ]
Jack: My father was an exceptional guy. I understand you and my brother, billy, might be doing business here soon.
Ashland: Well, he certainly made a good pitch for himself.
Jack: It's a funny thing. Billy's style and my father's are very different, but they both have a real business instinct, and billy has something that can't be taught. Vision, a certain fearlessness. In a few very short months, he and his partner have put chancellor communications on the map. One can only wonder what he will do once they have cyaxares.
Ashland: You don't expect that I'll show my hand, do you? Tell you which way I'm leaning? You'll just have to wait and see, just like everyone else.
Jack: Can't blame a guy for trying.
Ashland: Well, I really appreciate the way you advocate for your brother. You've done well, following in your father's footsteps.
Jack: I'm trying to live up to the example he set for me.
Ashland: I hope some day my son does the same, take on the family business.
Tara: Harrison is a little young to be spearheading corporate takeovers.
Jack: Well, whenever he is old enough to join you at the top, I'm sure he couldn't do any better than having his father as a mentor.
Ashland: Can we persuade you to join us for dinner?
Jack: Thank you. I would love to, but I'm joining someone.
Ashland: Then a drink over in the lounge. I won't take no for an answer.
Jack: I can't say no to that.
Ashland: Speaking of the next generation. Kyle. He was living in new york a few years back, wasn't he?
Jack: Yes, that's right. He worked for a few years in our manhattan office, learning the ropes, sowing some wild oats. But he came back here ready to work, and he has exceed our expectations.
Ashland: And now he's your co-ceo.
Jack: That's correct. Working side-by-side has been a revelation. There are days I don't know who the teacher is and who the student is.
Tara: Well, you can count me among jabot's millions of customers. I love the skin-care line. It does wonders, and I'm actually wearing the "cherish me" lipstick. It's my favorite.
Jack: You don't say. Well, that's wonderful. I am honored.
Tara: Thank you. If you can excuse me, I'm gonna go freshen up.
Ashland: Good idea.
Expertly tailored eye care.
Sharon: Rey? Look at me.
Rey: It hurts.
Sharon: Okay, that's it.
Rey: What?
Sharon: It's time for you to see a doctor.
Rey: You're overreacting.
Sharon: I'm not overreacting. I'm reacting the same way you would if you were in my place. We're not going to wait any longer for you to get help.
Devon: Hey, I was thinking after we look over these contracts, we can go and get some dinner if you'd like to. What's that?
Amanda: It's a bracelet. I found it when I was straightening up.
Devon: You know what? Elena probably dropped that when she stopped by last time.
Amanda: Elena. She was here? I mean, does she do that a lot, just come by?
Devon: I -- not like on a regular basis or anything.
Amanda: You know, i remembered when I saw the two of you, I said how nice it was that she confides in you, that you two are still friends.
Devon: Yeah, we are.
Amanda: And it's clear that she needs a shoulder right now. When I talked to nate, it seems like they've hit a rough patch.
Devon: Did he say why?
Amanda: No. Like I said, he -- he didn't give me any details. But it is clear that elena has a secret and she's commiserating with you about it. So I think it's time that somebody told me what's going on.
Devon: Uh...
Elena: I appreciate the offer, but it isn't really something that I can talk through.
Nate: Come on, even though things have been strained between us, I still want to know what's going on with you.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Elena: Oh, you should answer that.
Nate: [ Sighs ] One minute. Hello? This is dr. Hastings.
Sharon: Nate, hi. This is sharon. I need your help.
Nate: What's the problem?
Sharon: It's rey. He's been sick for hours and he's only getting worse.
Nate: Have you taken him in to be examined?
Sharon: No, he doesn't want to go to the er. I was hoping that maybe you could come here?
Nate: I'm on my way.
Elena: You have to leave?
Nate: Yeah. I've got to go check on a patient. I'd like to continue our conversation later. There's a lot we need to talk about.
Elena: Okay.
[ Sighs ]
Lola: Well, it looks like you could use a friend or some ice cream or a brownie, or you know what? Maybe all three.
Elena: Is it that obvious?
Lola: Yeah, I clocked you from across the room. What's going on? Spill.
Elena: Devon. Needles.
Lola: [ Sighs ] Girl.
Elena: I know.
Lola: Devon?
Elena: It's not like we meant for it to happen.
Lola: Uh-huh, so you accidentally slept with your ex. Again.
Elena: Okay, well, when you say it like that, it sounds awful.
Lola: You know, I don't want to be judgy, but you are way too smart and way too careful to let this happen again. Fine, that sounded a little judgy, so I'm sorry.
Elena: It's okay. It's nothing I haven't said to myself already. I just can't figure out why I'm being so selfish and careless. And when it first happened, devon and I decided that it was just a heat-of-the-moment, one-time thing, never to be repeated, because we're both in different places.
Lola: You're right. You both have changed. But like you said, you've also gone through a lot of painful stuff together.
Elena: Right, but we're also both seeing other people. He has amanda, and I am sincerely trying to make things work with nate.
Lola: Mm-hmm. But are you sincerely trying to work things with nate? Because your actions are suggesting otherwise.
Elena: I feel like I have a deep connection with him.
Lola: Oh, no, yeah. I have a deep connection with my saucepan, but that doesn't mean that --
Elena: I've been honest with nate. I even told him that I never really stopped loving devon.
Lola: And that is the answer as to why you're doing this. And you didn't do it alone. Obviously, devon wants it, too.
Elena: I don't know about that. It's not like he planned it.
Lola: Was he drunk or something?
Elena: No.
Lola: Mm-hmm. So neither of you were under the influence of anything but the feelings that you have for each other.
Elena: [ Groans ] So, where does that leave me?
Lola: [ Exhales sharply ] That's up to you. I think you have to figure out what you really want. I have the night off, if you want to eat some ice cream and talk more about this. I'll see you.
Elena: Thanks, lo.
Devon: Just a little smudge.
Elena: Mascara?
Devon: Yeah.
Elena: [ Sniffles ] Did I get it?
Devon: No. Here, let me get it for you. Kind of got it.
Elena: Devon...
Devon: The, uh... the truth is...that, you know, things ended between me and elena abruptly and acrimoniously. And that made me lash out because I felt like I was betrayed.
Amanda: Understandably.
Devon: But now that some time has gone by and I've been able to step back and take a look at the whole situation, I've come to realize that I did play a part in what happened.
Amanda: How?
Devon: Well, I mean, before elena did what she did, you and I were spending a lot of time together.
Amanda: Platonically bonding over hilary.
Devon: I know. I do know that. But to elena, she always thought there was more to it. And given the direction that our relationship has taken, I -- i can't really say that she was wrong, 'cause, you know, we've gotten a lot closer than we intended.
Amanda: So?
Devon: So there's just -- there's still just some unresolved issues between and elena and I that we're working through.
Amanda: Working through them how?
Devon: By forgiving each other, really. You know, just having an understanding of why and how everything went wrong, so we don't bring baggage into our next relationships.
Amanda: I see. How concerned about all of this should I be?
Summer: Ashland locke and tara?
Kyle: With my dad. I've had this nightmare 100 times. I feel sick. You know what? Let's get out of here before they --
Summer: Too late. We've been caught. Okay.
Kyle: Well, hello again.
Ashland: Small world.
Kyle: Small town.
Jack: Have you had a chance to meet summer yet?
Ashland: She was with kyle when we met.
Jack: Why don't you two grab a seat, please?
Kyle: I wish we could, dad, but we're only here to grab takeout and then go back to the office.
Ashland: Burning the midnight oil? Man -- and woman -- after my own heart.
Jack: I told you.
Kyle: Told him what?
Ashland: Your father was just singing your praises, telling me what a hard worker you are.
Kyle: Well, runs in the family.
Ashland: Well, if the opportunity ever should arise, I would look forward to doing business with the new generation of abbotts.
Kyle: I assume that means you'll be selling cyaxares media to my uncle billy. It's a perfect opportunity. A win-win.
Ashland: I like this guy.
Summer: You know what? Kyle, we better go check if our food is ready. It was really good seeing you again.
Ashland: Pleasure.
Jack: You take care.
Abby: Well, I see you met the legendary ashland locke.
Kyle: Actually, our paths have crossed before.
Abby: Apparently, he has a long history with our family.
Summer: Hey, kyle? Why don't you order for us, and I'll be right back. Hello again.
Tara: Summer.
Summer: Hi. Glad we ran into each other.
Tara: Why would that be?
Summer: Well, there's some things that you need to know about kyle and me. One of them being that we don't keep secrets from each other.
Tara: How lovely for you both. What do you want?
Summer: Funny, 'cause I was just about to ask you the same thing.
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Abby: So, how are things with summer these days?
Kyle: You know when you're driving down the highway and everything's fine, great music on the radio, fun conversation with the girl riding shotgun, and you know exactly where you're going?
Abby: Sure.
Kyle: But then you hit a patch of black ice and you're spinning out of control, and you hold on for dear life and your whole past flashes before your eyes and you have no idea if you'll come out of it without major wreckage or if you'll even survive?
Abby: Wow, this is getting intense.
Kyle: Yeah, well, summer and I, we're just pulling out of the spin. We're finally back on the right road and feel like we can breathe again. We love and trust each other, and no matter what the world throws at us, we'll face it together.
Abby: Hmm. Happy ending. I am genuinely thrilled.
Kyle: Is this part of your newlywed glow, where you're convinced the whole world would be a better place if everyone would just find their other half and fall in love?
Abby: It would be. Am I right?
Kyle: Hopeless romantic.
Abby: I'm just saying, when you find your perfect match, things just fall into place.
Kyle: Oh, here we go.
Abby: Hey, listen to a woman in love. Look, challenges are still gonna find you, like, say, your husband that you just married goes out of town on a mission right after you decided to have a baby with a surrogate. So just, please, remember the good, uncomplicated times, because life changes so quickly.
Kyle: Tell me about it.
Abby: Look, you and summer, you took the leisurely, scenic route to find out you wanted to be together.
Kyle: There wasn't much "leisure" to it.
[ Both chuckle ]
Abby: All I'm saying is that it took you forever to find out that you want to be together. So why don't you go ahead and put a ring on it?
Kyle: When that time finally comes, I will absolutely let you know.
Abby: I like that you didn't say "if."
Kyle: I promise, there is no way I'm letting summer go again.
Summer: This is starting to become quite the habit.
Tara: What is?
Summer: I mean, it wasn't that long ago that you jetted in from new york to have a chat with kyle, and here you are yet again.
Tara: There's no mystery. I'm traveling with my husband on business. I have no ulterior motives. You have nothing to worry about with me.
Summer: Believe me, I'm not worried.
Tara: There is someone you should be concerned about, though.
Summer: Dying to hear.
Tara: Very inquisitive redhead, invited me for coffee? Said she's some friend of kyle'S.
Summer: Sally spectra?
Tara: I'll manage my own affairs as I see fit. I suggest you do the same.
Nate: Can you describe your symptoms to me?
Rey: Yeah, it started like a stomach bug and then it got about a hundred times worse.
Sharon: He had chills, and then he got dizzy and lightheaded. He even fainted. Scared me to death. I've never seen him this ill.
Rey: And then it felt like my feet and legs were on fire.
Nate: When did the symptoms start?
Rey: I don't know. Few hours ago.
Nate: Sharon, do you know what he's eaten and had to drink?
Sharon: Yes.
Nate: Can you make me a list and text it to me? It could be food poisoning or a reaction to something else he's ingested.
Sharon: This seems like it might be something worse than food poisoning.
Nate: Well, I want to draw some blood and run a cbc. That should give us a better understanding of what's going on.
Sharon: But the pain in his legs and the burning on the soles of his feet -- now, I know you can't make a diagnosis from a medical website, but I did look online and those symptoms, it seems like he could be battling something neurological.
Nate: I don't want to jump to conclusions. Let's take this a step at a time. I'll do the blood test, analyze the results, and we'll go from there.
Rey: Look, we don't have to go through all that. I don't want to go to the hospital.
Nate: You don't have to. I can draw your blood here and run it over to the lab.
Rey: Fine. Get out your syringe, doc. Allergens are little terrors all around us.
Devon: When elena and I split up, I made her out in my mind to be this selfish person that never cared about me or loved me, and, you know, it took me a minute, but I realized that's not who she is.
Amanda: So you're seeing things differently now.
Devon: No, no. What elena and I had wasn't meant to be. And we've acknowledged that and we've made peace with it. I just -- I didn't want to keep hating her. I-I wanted to move on. You know, I wanted to move on with you.
Amanda: Yet, the two of you still have things to work through.
Devon: I-I think that we just need to have some closure.
Amanda: [ Exhales sharply ] I never thought of myself as a jealous person, but --
Devon: I don't mean to make you feel like that at all. I j-- I-I-I'm working through things that I thought I already handled.
Amanda: Well...good luck with that, devon.
Devon: Amanda.
Elena: You have no idea how good it feels to be with you again.
Devon: This is exactly where you belong, elena.
Elena: I missed you so much. I never stopped loving you.
Devon: I love you more.
Elena: If I ever lost you again --
Devon: Elena, don't say that. You're not going to. Won't happen.
Elena: I just want to love you and be loved by you forever.
Devon: Elena, you're mine always.
[ Door opens ]
Amanda: I should have known.
Devon: Amanda --
Amanda: No, I kept telling myself that I was imagining things.
Elena: I'm sorry.
Amanda: For what? Lying to me? Breaking devon's heart? She will betray you again, you know that, right? You didn't even want him. You're just mad that he was moving on with me.
Nate: I know you loved him. He's familiar, safe, but it's time to move on. Devon doesn't understand you the way I do. We share the same passions, the same connection. That's why you keep coming back to me.
Elena: But devon --
Nate: He is a part of your past. I'm what you need in your life. Be with me.
Elena: How?
Nate: It's easy. All you have to do is let go of the past.
Expertly tailored eye care.
Summer: Alright. Good night, all. It was really good seeing you again, ashland.
Tara: Good night.
Kyle: Well, that's my cue. Good luck with your business ventures in genoa city.
Ashland: "Luck" has precious little to do with it.
Jack: Oh, what is your secret?
Ashland: Well, the key is being able to read your competition, figure out what it is they're trying to hide, how far they'll go to get what they want, and what they're terrified they'll lose.
Jack: I'll have to remember that.
Kyle: Good to know. Tara. Enjoy your evening.
Tara: Nice to see you again, kyle.
Summer: Okay, breathe. You can finally relax.
Kyle: That was excruciating.
Summer: Yeah, well, I don't have a baseline for the guy, but he didn't seem to suspect.
Kyle: I couldn't shake the sense that he suspected something.
Summer: Yeah, well, you know, I think that locke is just the kind of guy who likes to keep people on their toes. I mean, he probably even intimidates his friends...if he has any. Don't get me wrong, the guy is intimidating as hell, but i think you handled him like a pro.
Kyle: I hope you're right.
Summer: And now we can just move on with our lives.
Jack: Well, I hate to cut this short. As I said, I am meeting someone.
Ashland: Well, don't let us keep you.
Jack: I'm glad this happened. I'm glad we had a chance to talk.
Ashland: Well, the pleasure was mine, jack.
Jack: I wish you'd had more of a chance to get to know my son. How long are you two staying in town?
Ashland: Well, we'll fly back to new york once my business here is finished. There's no place like home, and we hate spending too much time away from our son. Isn't that right, tara?
Sharon: I know I've asked a million times.
Rey: I'm still feeling pretty lousy. Sorry for raising so much hell about seeing a doctor. Just -- just trying to take care of me.
Sharon: Someone's got to counteract your stubbornness.
Rey: True. I get an idea and I can't let go of it.
Sharon: Good for a detective, but not so good for a husband.
Rey: You mean our therapy session?
Sharon: We don't have to talk about that now.
Rey: I want to.
Sharon: Okay. I know that things got tense before and I know that you and i still have a lot to work through, but the only thing that matters to me right now is you.
Rey: I'm gonna be okay.
Sharon: I know you are, because I'm going to make sure you are. Sickness and health.
Rey: Thick and thin.
Sharon: Because that's what partners do, and I am your partner in every way. And I love you very much.
Rey: [ Sighs ] I love you, too. I'm so glad you're in my life. I just need to get some rest. I'll be fine.
Sharon: I'll be here when you wake up.
Elena: Nate, hey.
Nate: Is everything alright?
Elena: How's your patient?
Nate: I'm not sure what's wrong with him. Hopefully I'll know more once i get his blood work back.
Elena: I hope you find answers soon.
Nate: I'm sure the lab will get back to me shortly. In the meantime, there's something we need to discuss.
Elena: I know, and you're right, and I want to give you my full attention, but can we do this later? I need to get back to the hospital --
Nate: This -- this won't take long. I know you've been struggling and things have been difficult for you, and I can't stay in limbo indefinitely. So let me make this easier for you. You don't have to decide anything. I'm moving on. Whatever we had? Is over.
Elena: [ Sighs ]
