Episode #12062 ~ Victor and Adam form an alliance against Billy. Chloe comes to Chelsea's rescue. Rey and Sharon take steps to save their marriage.

Faith: Yeah? What's up?

Sharon: You know that antique figurine that used to live right here, the girl with the old-fashioned dress on? Have you seen that lately?

Faith: No.

Sharon: Are you sure?

Faith: If I knew where it was, I'd tell you. Wait a minute. Are you asking me if I stole it?

Chloe: Would you mind just putting these in some water for me? Thanks. Okay. Hi. I don't know how much time i have because I don't know when your nurse is coming back, so i have to make this quick. I know. I saw that photo of adam kissing sharon. And then I realized that's what you were trying so hard to get me to understand the last time i was here. So I am here. I am here for whatever you need. I am your girl. You know that.

Chelsea: [ Weakly ] You are doing it just being here.

[ Exhales sharply ]

Chloe: Oh, my god. Chelsea. Chelsea, you spoke. You said words! I don't -- I don't understand. When did this happen? How?

Chelsea: Shh, shh, shh.

[ Clears throat ] Our secret.

Chloe: [ Exhales sharply ]

Billy: Oh, please tell me one of these coffees are for me.

Lily: Yep, just the way you like it.

Billy: You can read my mind. Quick -- tell me what I'm thinking now.

Lily: That the fact that we get any work done is a miracle.

Billy: Bang on. Look what I got to work with.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Why are you in such a good mood?

Billy: Well, 75% of it is because of you. The other 25% is because ashland locke agreed to a meeting to talk all things cyaxares.

Lily: Wait a second. Is this real?

Billy: It's game on. Time to work our magic.

Lily: Okay, but without an investor?

Billy: Those are the details. We'll get that handled.

Lily: What's more exciting to you -- owning cyaxares or the opportunity to outmaneuver victor and victoria?

Victoria: Make sure that you cc me on those e-mails.

Nikki: Yep. I think we can close that deal by the end of the week.

Victoria: I have no doubt that you will. Oh, there is one more thing before I let you go.

[ Computer pings ] Ohh.

Nikki: What are you smiling about?

Victoria: It's from ashland locke.

Nikki: Really? What does he say?

Victoria: He wants to negotiate.

Nikki: Very good.

Victoria: Ah, but he goes on to say that he likes the idea of the money and power that newman brings to the table. However, he has several interested parties. Hmm. So, I assume that one of those parties is dad and adam.

Victor: Glad you could join me. Hope you bring some good news.

Adam: So, I've been giving your plan to acquire cyaxares considerable thought. And I'm in.

Victor: Glad to hear that.

Adam: Mm. So, what are our next steps?

Victor: We move ahead aggressively.

Adam: That's it? No airtight contracts? No blood oaths?

Victor: Why would I need that from you?

Adam: I'm just surprised you're not more concerned i might be playing you.

Victor: [ Chuckles ] Son, if you were playing me, it would not only be a great disappointment... but you would be burning your final bridge. (Drill sergeant) what a pleasant morning. It's warm, but not too warm.

[ Sighs ] You've done so much.

Adam: You would have done the same for me.

Sharon: You're right. I would. I owe you.

Adam: You owe me nothing. I am just really proud of how far you've come. This new year that we're heading into -- it's a chance for you to have a fresh start. And to symbolize your new beginning, I got you a little something.

Sharon: It's beautiful.

Adam: I saw it in the window of an antique store. She had this look on her face. It made me think of you -- strong, fierce, determined.

Sharon: I don't know if those are the words that I would use to describe myself right now.

Adam: Well, now you have her to remind you of who you are, the unsinkable, resilient woman I see whenever I look at you.

Sharon: [ Breathes deeply ]

Faith: Rey, you're back.

Rey: If I didn't know any better, I'd think you're happy to see me 'cause of what's in the bag.

Faith: I'd be happy to see you even if you didn't have those sweet, delicious cinnamon buns for me.

Rey: Hey! For us.

Faith: I am happy to share.

Sharon: Um, you can have one after you finish your history homework.

Faith: But who's gonna help you find your figurine?

Rey: What figurine?

Sharon: Oh, um, nothing. It's nothing.

Faith: It's a little ceramic statue of a girl. It's lived on this table since forever, and all of a sudden it's gone. You haven't seen it, have you?

Rey: No, I don't think I've ever even noticed it. Sorry.

Sharon: It's really not a big deal.

Faith: But you just said --

Sharon: Homework. Now that your dad's talked to the school and your suspension has been lifted, you have a lot to catch up on.

Faith: [ Sighs ] Aye, aye. Um, I really hope you guys can work things out.

Victor: You know...nothing will change the recent past that you and I share -- also pretty tough times.

Adam: [ Sighs ] Dad, um, I welcome the opportunity to run a company with the reach of cyaxares.

Victor: I'm glad to hear you say that. I think a man of your intelligence and your talents needs something to focus on, you know?

Adam: Well, I'm not that man anymore. Much as I have enjoyed double-crossing you in the past, I just don't have the time or the inclination.

Victor: Because of chelsea's situation and connor?

Adam: She deserves a partner that's 100% committed to her recovery, and he deserves a father that he can look up to. So they are my priority.

Victor: Not to mention the killing that you may potentially make in the new business, with the added benefit of... annihilating billy abbott.

Adam: It's too good to resist.

Victor: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm glad you see it that way, son.

Adam: There is more, though.

Victor: Oh? What's that?

Adam: The fact that you came to me with this opportunity, that you asked me to run this company -- it means a lot to me. This is everything that I've wanted from you -- a sense of real trust. So, yes, I'm committed 100%.

Billy: You're asking me to choose whether I'm more excited about a business deal or besting our competition? That's like asking me to choose between chocolate cake and a chocolate sundae. I want them both. Can't I have both?

Lily: You are so greedy.

Billy: Yeah, I'm a little selfish, and I have an enormous appetite.

Lily: I know. I concur.

Billy: If this acquisition goes through, it puts us on a whole new level and it blocks victor because the only reason he's going after cyaxares is to hamstring us.

Lily: Yeah, that is true.

Billy: We pull this off, puts us at the top of the heap. Unstoppable.

Lily: Okay, let's just take it day by day because jill did refuse to finance the deal.

Billy: Yes, but that's a mere technicality.

Lily: You're very confident about this would-be investor.

Billy: Locke believes in us. Our potential investor will do the same.

Lily: Okay, well, if things do go our way, victor will still come after us because he does not like to lose.

Billy: Especially to me.

Lily: Exactly.

Billy: You're not suggesting we walk away from a fight, are you?

Lily: No. I'm not backing down from anything.

Billy: Sounds like my mood is getting infectious.

Lily: I think your mood needs to be channeled.

Billy: I couldn't agree more.

Lily: Which is why we make such a great team.

Nikki: You and your father are working against each other on this deal?

Victoria: It's his choice, not mine.

Nikki: Why am I only hearing about this now?

Victoria: Are you surprised that dad kept it a secret from you?

Nikki: How did it happen?

Victoria: When he originally approached me about acquiring the company, I told him I wasn't interested.

Nikki: And what changed your mind?

Victoria: Finding out that he approached adam about getting involved.

Nikki: Oh, my god. Are you kidding me?!

Victoria: No, I am not kidding you, mom. I think that dad is trying to play me and adam against each other. Well, obviously he's underestimated me again.

Adam: To be perfectly honest, you are right. I need this, the work, the deals, the planning, keeping my eye on all the moving pieces, kind of the chess of it all, beating the competition. It's a reminder of what I'm good at.

Victor: Very glad you've realized that, son.

Adam: But there is one thing that concerns me.

Victor: Hmm?

Adam: What is ashland locke gonna think about a man of my reputation running his media company? It's gonna take quite the P.R. Management to close him on this.

Victor: I'm not worried about that. I will tell ashland locke that, um, you know, you've taken charge of your life again after some tragic incidents in your childhood.

Adam: Well, there's a lot of truth to that. And this won't just be good for me. Actually, it'll be good for chelsea. It'll strengthen our relationship. Her recovery's been a lot slower than we anticipated. It's made me question myself about a lot of things.

Victor: I bet.

Adam: It's good. This job will give me a new goal, renewed purpose.

Victor: Son, it certainly will, and that's a good thing in your case, you know? It'll primarily also keep you from ruining your relationship with chelsea, you know... the way you spending time with sharon threatened to.

Chloe: Chelsea, this is incredible, though I don't know why I'm surprised that you made progress. I knew that you were in there just trying to fight to get out.

Chelsea: So much fighting.

[ Sighs ] Much more to do than to say.

Chloe: Does anyone know?

Chelsea: You're the first to know.

Chloe: Well, I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. How did you do this?

Chelsea: When I'm alone, I practice.

Chloe: I am so proud of you. You have no idea.

Chelsea: So [Gulps] Slow. Frustrating.

Chloe: Which part? Just doing all of this on your own? Or knowing that adam is getting mixed up with sharon again?

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] Last night, adam left. I got so mad, I stood.

Chloe: Seriously? It's like you've took all of that built-up rage and you used it to stand.

Chelsea: Not long.

Chloe: Well, you have to start somewhere.

Chelsea: My right side is... but look -- my left.

Chloe: Yeah. It's getting stronger.

Chelsea: [ Chuckles ] I'm just so glad I have you. Talking to you feels [Sighs] -- Feels good.

Chloe: I knew you would come back. Just need a little bit of patience, and it paid off. So, um, yeah, I just -- bella was just so cute. She saw him crying and she walked in and she said, "mom, don't worry. I got this." And she just came into the room. She picked up a book. She read it to him, and he just lit up. And he got real quiet and he just listened and it was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I just know that they're gonna be best friend, just like us, the best ever.

Rey: Hey, faith, um, before you go off and do your homework, I just want to let you know that it means a lot that you want us to work things out. I've never been a step-parent before, so this is all new to me.

Faith: You're doing great.

Rey: Thank you. You know, things are kind of complicated right now, but we've been through so much. All of us. But we've made it through, and it's made us stronger, right? Now, that's what families do. If someone needs help, the rest of us pull together. If something's broken, you fix it.

Faith: Like me.

Sharon: No. You were never broken.

Rey: You have made it through an impossible year. Did you always deal with it in the best way? No, but no one does all the time. You've recognized your mistakes, and you are making a sincere effort to turn things around. And at the end of the day, that's all any of us can do -- try to learn from our mistakes, and do better the next time.

Faith: Geez, after all of that, history homework should be a breeze.

Sharon: Well, you better get to it.

Faith: Okay. Wish me luck. And good luck to you guys, too.

Rey: Thanks.

Sharon: Did you mean what you said about fixing things between us?

Rey: Yeah. I think we owe it to each other and to faith to do our best. But it's gonna take both of us working together with a therapist.

Sharon: Yeah.

Rey: Have you found someone?

Sharon: Um, better than that. I actually found three possibilities.

Rey: How do choose?

Sharon: Well, I thought you might want to look at their profiles online, see what their approaches are, and look at the reviews.

Rey: Alright. That's a great idea. Let's, uh -- let's do it now. Together.

Adam: Sharon is out of my life. She's no longer an issue. So we really don't need to talk about it.

Victor: But the picture of you and sharon's all over the social media, you know. There's no way that chelsea, in spite of what she's going through, is not gonna find out.

Adam: Well, I'm determined to try. Nothing good can come from her knowing about it.

Victor: So, you mean that you would do this for the sake of chelsea and connor, right?

Adam: Absolutely. And they're still gonna be my priority, even when I take on the challenge of running this company. This is my chance to re-establish myself... and take no prisoners.

Victor: [ Laughs ] That's my boy. I like hearing you talk that way. So you make sure that this sharon business stays under control. Do you understand? That way, we can pursue business the way victor newman does -- ruthless. We'll go after them. Okay?

Nikki: I was under the impression that your father's obsession with buying that media company had something to do with billy.

Victoria: He wants to buy cyaxares media because he wants to weaponize it against chanccomm and pay billy back for all his offenses, both real and imagined.

Nikki: Well, that article about adam was pretty brutal.

Victoria: Yes, mother, but it was true, every word of it. Not that I agree with billy's methods, but dad is counting on that, too. He gets this perverse pleasure from imagining me at the helm and taking a wrecking ball to everything that billy has accomplished. And now he's using adam against me so that I'll go after cyaxares because he knows that i hate the idea of adam stepping in if I don'T. It's classic dad.

Nikki: And you're falling right into his trap.

Victoria: No, not at all. I'm just trying to keep cyaxares out of their hands to protect billy.

Nikki: Darling, it sounds like you're putting yourself in a very dangerous position.

Victoria: I know what I'm doing.

Nikki: And if you're not the last one standing, what then?

Victoria: I only play when I know I can win. I embrace getting older.

Victor: You know, son, I got to tell you it feels right having you in charge of my newest acquisition, you know? And I'm glad that you and i share the same goals for our company.

Adam: And billy.

Victor: I'll see you later.

Adam: Nikki. Looking lovely, as always.

Nikki: Adam.

Adam: Victoria. How are things at newman?

Victoria: They couldn't be better. How's chelsea?

Adam: She's well. I'll let her know that you asked.

Victoria: Congratulations, by the way.

Adam: On what?

Victoria: Well, based on how close that you and dad looked just now, I -- I guess that things are much better between the two of you.

Adam: Yeah. You're right. They are.

Victoria: Hello, dad.

Victor: Hi, sweetheart.

Victoria: You have that -- that look on your face, you know, the one that you always get after a sparring match or a chess game.

Victor: [ Laughs ] Do I now?

Victoria: Must have been some conversation that you just had with adam.

Victor: [ Chuckles ]

Victoria: Please tell me you're not planning to make a move for cyaxares media.

Victor: Well, wait a minute. Why wouldn't I? I mean, have some plans changed or what?

Victoria: No, nothing at all. Do whatever you need to do. I'm gonna continue to do what's best for newman.

Victor: Your mistake, my darling, is to think that those are mutually exclusive.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Billy: You know my mother is dying to take credit for us.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Is she?

Billy: I mean, if anyone's to blame, it's got to be me, right? I'm clearly irresistible.

Lily: Oh, my gosh.

Billy: Well, what other reason is there? Why would the ethereal swan want to be with a blue-footed booby like this? I don't understand it. You're gorgeous. You're sexy. You're brilliant. And you still choose me day after day.

Lily: [ Laughs ] I'm with you because of who you are, not in spite of it.

Billy: Ugh. And the things you say to me.

Lily: [ Laughs ] I like you, okay? I like being with you. If I just wanted amazing sex and a few laughs, then I would just tell you that. But what we have is deeper than that. So, if jill wants to take credit for it, then let her. She is the reason I moved back to genoa city and the reason i took this job -- because she saw what we didn't see at the time, and that's that we make a hell of a team. So, in my book, your mother's a genius.

Jack: Well, that's up for debate.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Chloe: So, kevin wanted to make sure that I tell you that he sends his love, and bella of course is sending all the hugs and kisses. She's making you the biggest -- so, what are you gonna do now? Are you gonna tell adam? I have a better idea. I'll go upstairs. I will pack your things. We will wheel you out of here. You'll stay with us, and you can forget about that sob for good.

Chelsea: No, to all of it.

Chloe: Then what do you want me to do?

Chelsea: I want him to think I'm still helpless, unaware.

Chloe: Okay. Whatever you want. But are you gonna tell your best friend what you're planning? Fresh step clean paws.

Jack: I'm not surprised jill turned you down. We're talking about a lot of money here.

Lily: Uh, yes, but adding cyaxares to our portfolio would be a huge get.

Billy: It'll help us go global, one step closer to world domination.

Jack: You have a plan for possible staffing redundancies?

Lily: We want to have everyone under the chanccomm umbrella take on new roles so that way we don't lay anyone off.

Jack: You realize it's gonna make it more difficult to hit some of these profitability benchmarks you've set for yourself?

Billy: Don't worry about that. We got it figured out.

Jack: Thorough, concise, and achievable. Because I believe in both of you and because this is a strong, viable business plan, I think you're ready to take this next step and go after ashland locke's company with my blessing and with my financing.

Lily: Oh, yes! That is fantastic.

Billy: Thank you, jack. Truly, thank you.

Lily: I promise you will not regret this.

Jack: No, this is a great investment. I can't wait to see what you do with the added reach and clout that this is gonna give chanccomm. I am committing right now to doing whatever you need to make that happen.

Lily: Yes, I have so many ideas.

Jack: Yeah, so do I. The first one -- dinner. We have to celebrate this company's future...and yours.

Billy: Absolutely. I'm in. You?

Lily: Yeah, of course.

Jack: Wonderful. I'll be in touch with details.

Billy: [ Clears throat ]

Jack: Oh, and, uh, billy?

Billy: Yeah?

Jack: You missed a button.

Lily: Oh, my gosh.

[ Chuckles ]

Rey: I don't know one type of therapy from another. Do you have a preference -- male or female?

Sharon: Either one's fine with me.

Rey: You don't want to do this at all, do you?

Sharon: Why do you say that?

Rey: Because ever since i mentioned the idea of going to see someone, you've been like this -- defensive, on edge.

Sharon: I'm not. Well, I'm sorry. It's just...

Rey: You don't want to do this at all because you're the one used to asking the questions, getting to the bottom of the issue, helping your patients deal with their problems. And now that we're gonna be the ones on the couch, I think you're starting to see how difficult it might be.

Sharon: No, that's not it at all.

Rey: Are you saying if you were on the outside of our relationship, you wouldn't recommend that we need couples therapy?

Sharon: Well, it's not that simple.

Rey: You would say that it's important to get to the root of the issue before we start dealing with what's going on with us, that if there's any hope for us, we need to be open and honest and be willing to do the hard things.

Sharon: [ Sighs ] Is that what I sound like?

Rey: Verbatim.

Sharon: Oh, god.

Rey: And I think it might be difficult for you to hear someone else say that, for the good of our marriage, you will have to remove adam from your life.

Sharon: That's what I'm trying to do.

Rey: I know. Listen, I believe you. Listen, I'm not an expert at this, but I think you're dragging your feet because you're gonna have to put it all out there. And you're gonna have to say things that are difficult for me to hear. And you'll be on the receiving end also. I mean, you know how this is gonna go better than I do.

Sharon: Doctors always make the worst patients, don't they?

Rey: I want this relationship to grow and to thrive. I want to grow old with you. I want to do all the things that we planned for because we deserve it. And I know it's gonna be really hard, but I am willing to do the work for you, for us, because you're worth fighting for.

Sharon: Hello. Dr. Carson? Yes, my name is sharon...rosales. My husband and I would like to make an appointment with you. As soon as you're available? Thank you.

Chloe: Tell me that your next move is to get out of here and away from adam.

Chelsea: Not yet.

Chloe: Okay, then what are you gonna do?

Chelsea: [ Clears throat ] End this chapter of my life.

Chloe: What does that mean? Chelsea, my desire for revenge against adam --it consumed me. It led me to push everyone away in my life. It made me do so many violent things. It drove me to a breakdown, and it nearly cost me everyone, everything in my life, including my best friend. So please take it from me. Do not make the same mistake i did. Do not let your anger take over.

Chelsea: Don't be scared.

[ Clears throat ] Nothing drastic. I just need a clean break from adam. But I also need...

Chloe: What?

Chelsea: I need your help.

Billy: I think we should get jack a thank-you gift before dinner.

Lily: That's a good idea. What'd you have in mind?

Billy: Something that makes him smile and brings joy to his heart.

Lily: Okay, but what do you get the man that can buy himself anything?

Billy: Well, funny you should ask because I know jack pretty well, and what makes him very happy is when I am very happy. So, if you make me happy, it's actually a roundabout way to bring a lot of joy to him.

Lily: [ Chuckling ] Oh, okay. And I can accomplish that by doing what exactly?

Billy: I'm glad you asked. I have a very long list.

Lily: [ Laughs ]

Nikki: I know what you're doing.

Victor: What am I doing?

Nikki: This little game that you're playing, pitting victoria against adam. I don't approve.

Victor: My baby, I don't care if you approve or not. This is not a game. I simply gave an opportunity to two of my kids, okay? That's all. Both nick and abby have expressed total disinterest in the family business.

Nikki: Victor.

Victor: What?

Nikki: This is cruel and divisive.

Victor: Let me ask you something, sweetheart. Do you think I got to where I am now by being nice?

Sharon: [ Scoffs ]

Victor: I have given an opportunity to two of my children. Now I want to see who comes out on top.

[ Cellphone pings ]

Sharon: Hey, where did that cinnamon bun go?

Faith: In my belly?

[ Laughs ] It was really good.

Sharon: You know, you're the only one rey gets those for.

Faith: Well, next time I'll ask him to get extra.

Sharon: Ah. Thank you. Have I told you how happy I am that you decided not to stay at your dad's any longer and come home?

Faith: Well, as much as i love being at dad's and christian's, this is where i belong.

Sharon: I'm really sorry that things got tense between us and that you felt like the trust was gone and that I wasn't listening to you. I know that I was very preoccupied last year, but I'm not gonna use my treatment as an excuse. When I found out that there was so much going on with you, things that I was not aware of, I was scared. And I acted out of fear, and I was wrong.

Faith: It's okay. I know you were just trying to help.

Sharon: Well, I want you to know that I'm listening to you. I'm definitely listening to you now. And I really want to fix things between us.

Faith: I do, too, mom. I love you.

Sharon: I love you, too.

Adam: Chloe.

[ Door closes ]

Chloe: Hi. I just stopped by to keep chelsea company, you know, fill her in on her godson and bella, what they're up to.

Adam: Well, that's very nice of you. But she looks tired. Maybe it's time to, uh, say goodbye for the day.

Chloe: Yeah, sure. You -- you be strong, okay? And you work hard. Focus on getting out of that chair. And one day soon, this will all be behind you.

Adam: Well, thanks for stopping by.

[ Door opens ]

[ Sighs ] Did you have a good visit with chloe? Good.

[ Sighs ] Sorry I rushed her out of here, but, um, I couldn't wait to tell you my good news. My meeting with victor went off without a hitch. Now, I know you don't understand my motives right now, but, uh, this proposal was too good to pass up. All systems are a go. We are buying ashland locke's corporation. I'm gonna be running cyaxares media. At first, from here, in genoa city, but once I have a handle on the job and you have recovered, we can go anywhere in the world, wherever you want to live.

[ Sighs ] It's a very powerful company. And I'm gonna make it bigger and better than anything anyone has ever imagined. But you know what the best part is? Is I will finally get to pay billy back for all the damage he has done to us. I'm going to crush him.

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] You won't have the chance, adam. This will all be over soon. And the only one who will be crushed is you.
