Episode #12054 ~ Victor does damage control. Rey demands the truth from Sharon. Chelsea's world is turned upside down.

Billy: I'm not quite ready to go upstairs just yet.

Lily: Okay. Do you want to get a drink?

Billy: No, I need to do some thinking. This whole situation with newman trying to acquire the media company we're that we're going after has got my brain doing loop-de-loops. And I need to clear my head.

Lily: Uh-huh. You're not going to the newman ranch to confront victor, are you?

Billy: I said I wanted to clear my head, not make it explode. Weren't you texting with devon about hanging out tonight? Why don't you hit him up?

Lily: Yeah, I -- uh, okay. Did you arrange that?

Billy: No, I wish I was that good. But you should take advantage of the excellent timing. I'll see you soon, okay?

Lily: Alright. Let me know if you need help with the loop-de-loops.

Billy: Thank you. Hey, man.

Devon: Hey. How you doing?

Billy: Good.

Lily: What interesting timing.

Devon: Yeah.

[ Chuckles ]

Lily: What did you want to talk about?

Devon: We should probably sit down first before I tell you. Let's get a seat.

Nick: Sweetheart, I know you're upset. Well, that was the intention of whoever sent you that picture. I get it, you're angry. And, yes, I know it's all over social media. Yes, look, don't worry, I'm gonna make this better for you. Okay? Alright, good night. I love you.

[ Door opens ]

Sharon: Where were you? I called. I left messages. I was getting worried. Rey...what is it?

Rey: I needed to take some time to calm down... before asking you about this.

Adam: What can I do for you?

Victor: Step outside. Did you know diarrhea is often caused by bad bacteria in food?

Adam: It was a momentary lapse. On my part, not on sharon's part. So I have no idea who took that photo.

Victor: How did it happen?

Adam: Sharon had just gotten done telling me that she could no longer work with chelsea and that we needed to keep out distance from each other.

Victor: Look, I'm very aware of your intense relationship with sharon. In fact, I took advantage of it when I asked her to help you through your depression. And she got you out of that dark place that you went to after you found out about what happened in your childhood. But having said that, I want you to be careful. You know if chelsea finds out, it's gonna be immensely hard for you, you know that.

Adam: I know.

Victor: I mean, I'm not here to judge you. Really, I'm not. I'm here to tell you to really, really be careful.

Adam: You're right. But, for the record, there's nothing going on with me and sharon. So it won't happen again.

Victor: Nowadays, you can't be careful enough. There are cameras everywhere, alright? And you're a newman. They would like nothing more than to find some salacious stuff about any of us.

Adam: Okay, thank you. I appreciate it. Won't happen again.

Victor: Okay, my boy. Make sure that it doesn'T.

Chelsea: What would bring victor over here? Why the secrecy? It's like adam is reverting back to his old life right before my eyes. The need for his father's approval, the allure of sharon. And all I can do is sit here and watch it happen.

Sharon: [ Sighs ] It must have been taken by one of those kids who've been bullying faith because they sent it to her. And when she saw it, of course, she jumped to all kinds of conclusions.

Rey: Can you blame her? When did this happen?

Sharon: The other night. We had been fighting, so I went for a drive and I ended up at society and adam was there. I told him that I could no longer treat chelsea, like we had discussed.

Rey: Right, right, right. But how did this happen?

Sharon: Okay, well, I'm getting to that. Adam said that he understood, and he also said that I had been helping him just as much as chelsea just by being there at his place. Helping him deal with the pain and fear that he's been feeling lately.

Rey: Go on, go on.

Sharon: Okay, well, I wanted to end the conversation, and so I turned to leave. And adam took my hand and pulled me close and -- and then kissed me.

Rey: Are you saying he forced himself upon you?

Sharon: No! No, adam just -- he acted in the moment. He -- he was in an emotional state and he acted impulsively, and that's just something that adam does do when he's agitated.

Rey: You told me about ending chelsea's treatment, but you didn't say anything about adam kissing you. Why didn't you?

Sharon: Because it had just happened.

Rey: Why did he think it was okay to do that?

Sharon: He was very mixed up. You know, he's been going through so much --

Rey: Sharon. I need a straight answer. Did adam force this kiss upon you or did you give him permission to do it?

Sharon: It's not an either/or situation. There is a middle ground.

Rey: Really? What? What?!

Sharon: It was a mistake. Alright? It was just an irrational mistake. Rey. Rey, please!

[ Door slams ]

Devon: So I probably wouldn't even be talking about this if it were another couple, but chance and abby have been so open about it that they want everybody to know what's going on.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, that sounds like abby.

Devon: Yeah. So she's learned that she's unable to carry a child to term, and they're gonna use a surrogate.

Lily: Okay.

Devon: Yeah.

Lily: Anyone we know?

Devon: It's mariah.

Lily: Wow.

Devon: Yeah.

Lily: That's an inspired choice.

Devon: They've also discovered, though, that because of complications from infection that chance got when he was shot, he's unable to be the biological father.

Lily: Oh, my god.

Devon: Yeah. Just one thing after another. But they're still determined to have a baby.

Lily: Wow. I mean, I remember everything that I went through with the twins, and it was really hard, so my heart really goes out to them.

Devon: And then on top of everything, chance just called away on an assignment. Abby has no idea when he's gonna be back. So I wanted to do something to help them.

Lily: What can you do?

Devon: Abby has been struggling a lot with the idea of using an anonymous donor, and I decided to step in and do that for them.

Lily: What?

Chelsea: God, you're smooth. Acting as if nothing happened. What did victor show you on his phone? What are you hiding now?

[ Pounding on door ]

[ Pounding continues ] Hold on. Yeah, rey, just come right on in.

Rey: You stay away from my wife.

Adam: I don't think you heard. Sharon told me that she -- she couldn't work with chelsea anymore.

Rey: You know that's not what I'm talking about. This is all over social media.

Chelsea: What is that?

Rey: Taken at my sister's restaurant!

Adam: Okay. I know you're upset.

Rey: Oh, you're damn right I'm upset. Did you really think that you could get away with this? Keep it a secret?

Chelsea: What is everyone showing adam?

Rey: I ought to haul you in right now.

Adam: Okay, well, why don't you just calm down? Before you cross a line and you abuse your authority, rey.

Rey: You're the one who crossed the line. And I keep putting up with it again and again. I thought you were out of our lives, but you just keep coming back, and you're not gonna stop until somebody makes you.

Adam: Is that a threat, detective?

Rey: You know, I've known guys like you. I've arrested hundreds of them -- guys who think they can get away with anything with no consequences. But here's the thing, there are always consequences.

Adam: I think you should go.

Rey: You have been warned.

Sharon: I've just had a terrible fight with rey, so i really don't need you pouring it on.

Nick: Care to explain?

Sharon: It was just a moment. A fleeting moment. It was there and gone.

Nick: It's not gone, is it? That photo of you and adam will be online forever.

Sharon: Well, it's blown out of proportion. It's taken out of context.

Nick: What exactly is the context?

Sharon: Well, obviously, someone recognized me at society. One of the kids who's been bullying faith. They took that picture and sent it to her to hurt her.

Nick: It did. I just got off the phone with her for about an hour, trying to help her understand something that I don't understand myself.

Sharon: It's not what you think.

Nick: I just want to deal with the fallout, okay? I want to make things better for faith while she tries to deal with this.

Sharon: I have the same goal. We need to find these kids who have been bullying her and put an end to this. Obviously, whoever sent faith the photo was the one who posted it online.

Nick: Whoever is posting things online is using a fake name. That much I did get out of faith. I think we should get the school involved in this.

Sharon: I absolutely agree. Whatever it takes to end this nightmare for her.

Nick: We'll get through it. In the meantime, faith wants to live with me full-time.

Sharon: What? Wait, I don't think that's a good idea. Uprooting her while she's under this much stress? I mean, that's not gonna help her.

Nick: It's just for now. You know, couple days, a few weeks.

Sharon: Weeks?

Nick: She's hurting, sharon, and she's confused. She has seen the terrible things that adam has done, and then she sees that photo. And it's like you're choosing adam over her.

Sharon: That's not true.

Nick: Well, of course it isn'T. But look at it from faith's point of view. Your continued involvement with adam is beyond infuriating to her, and that picture just really hit it home for her. And she's not wrong. It's a slap in the face to everyone who has loved and supported you this year. Especially rey and faith.

Victoria: Well, I have to say, this is -- it's quite a surprise.

Billy: Well, I was in the neighborhood. Thought I'd come and see if the kids were asleep yet... and ask you point-blank why you were so vague about newman making a bid for cyaxares. When I brought it up, you seemed very surprised, so even if it is your father's idea, I find it hard to believe you had no idea what was going on.

Victoria: Okay, I think I know where this is going.

Billy: I'm also wondering why you wouldn't answer my question about after newman divesting itself of all its media assets, you would then go after a big, fat powerhouse like cyaxares?

Victoria: I can explain --

Billy: So you want to go after chanccomm? In order to get back at me? Garnier whole blends has something big

Victoria: You know, I really don't appreciate you showing up here and making accusations when you don't have your facts straight.

Billy: Well, please, enlighten me.

Victoria: Here's what happened -- my father proposed the deal. I wasn't interested.

Billy: So this is your dad's idea? Which was my first theory, but then I had second thoughts because, you know, you're the ceo of the company, so how could you be so far out of the loop? Uh-huh. And there it is. So much for letting you run the company, huh?

Victoria: You know, you're jumping to the wrong conclusion.

Billy: Victoria, I told you this was gonna happen. He was gonna let you do whatever you wanted to do until you made a decision that he didn't like, and then he was gonna swoop right back in.

Victoria: I am not having this conversation with you. As a matter of fact, I'm not having this conversation with you ever again. I do not discuss my internal business decisions.

Billy: Vick, I need to know what's going on.

Victoria: Why? Why? Are you that afraid of a little competition from newman enterprises?

Billy: No, I'm not. In fact, I relish it. I live for it. And now that I know I'm not actually battling you, that it was your father's decision, you're just going along with it, it'll be a little bit easier.

Victoria: What does it matter?

Billy: Honestly, I just think it's a shame. You're not gonna go to your dad and remind him that you're the ceo of the company, that it's your decision to make. I thought things had changed, but I guess not. He's still the one calling the shots.

Devon: Abby is one of my closest friends. She's been that for a really long time. I care about her. I love her.

Lily: I care about her, too.

Devon: Also, you know, even thought abby and chance were considering an anonymous donor, they were very uncomfortable with the idea. I know they didn't want to do it. And when I learned that, i thought, "hey, this is a great opportunity for me to step up and actually help them."

Lily: No, look. I mean, I think what you're doing is great, and I know that it comes from a place of love and generosity.

Devon: Exactly, yes. It does. And I don't need you thinking anything negative about it.

Lily: What does that mean?

Devon: I can hear it in your voice. I know what you're gonna say, "it's great that I'm helping my friends, but..."

Lily: I mean, look, I just --

[ Sighs ] I've been there before, and despite the best intentions, things can get messy.

Devon: I know that. I remember.

Lily: And I will forever be grateful to mac for doing what she did, but she and cane ended up in court over it.

Devon: That was a completely different situation, though. You were sick, and it was about saving your life.

Lily: I know. I'm just saying that things never turn out the way that you expect them to.

Devon: That could be said for life in general. Right? I'm not gonna let that stop me from following my heart and from helping my friends out.

Sharon: I'm not having an affair with adam. And I feel terrible that faith was hurt by this one stupid moment that obviously I regret.

Nick: Well, I've got no right to be judgmental, with my track record. I'm sorry.

Sharon: Thank you for that. I appreciate it.

Nick: If may, though, suggest perhaps you avoid situations where something like this could happen again.

Sharon: Well, that's exactly what adam and I were talking about. I told him that I could no longer treat chelsea, and we agreed to step back from each other, and that's exactly what i intend to do.

Nick: Well, I really hope you can stick to that. But in the meantime, I believe faith should come and stay with me.

Sharon: [ Sighs ] Why?

Nick: Give her a chance to calm down. Maybe she'll give me the names of the kids who have been bullying her.

Sharon: I want to do whatever is best for our daughter.

Nick: It's just gonna be for a little while, sharon.

Sharon: As much as it hurts that faith wants to leave, I think you're right. At least until we get everything sorted out. You know that photo was taken at society, maybe lola can help us figure out who's responsible.

Nick: Yeah. It's a good idea.

Sharon: Faith seems scared that if we force the school to find and punish those kids who were involved, her bullies are gonna retaliate against her.

Nick: That's possible. Faith just needs to know that she can count on us right now.

Sharon: We also need to figure out if her drinking was just a reaction to the stress of being bullied, or if, potentially, it's a bigger problem.

Nick: Her therapist and my mom can help with that.

Sharon: I just hope faith won't be as resistant as she was when we first brought up therapy.

Nick: Well, I think staying with me might help with that, too. And, hey, this is gonna give you and rey a good chance to really work some things out. I really hope adam hasn't done irreparable damage, sharon.

[ Door closes ]

Adam: I know that that sounded bad. Sharon and rey, they're obviously having some problems. Honeymoon is over, I guess, and he wants to blame it on me.

Chelsea: I don't believe you, adam. You're looking to deflect your own guilt. So what happened with sharon? It must be something bad to bring victor and rey here to confront you. Rey said he should "haul you in." What did you do?

Adam: You want some water? How about I have meredith start a bath for you? That sounds good, doesn't it?

Chelsea: I don't want a bath. I don't want water. I want to know what they were showing you on their phones. Stouffer's mac and cheese is made with 100% real cheese.

Adam: I know that it must seem very strange. Nick shows up here the other day. Rey tonight. They come here to rake me over the coals...for nothing. They need a scapegoat when things aren't going right in their life.

Chelsea: Don't forget victor. Something must have prompted him to make a personal visit.

Adam: There's nothing for you to worry about.

Chelsea: Of course there is. Or you wouldn't have had to sneak out in the hall to talk about it.

Adam: You're tired. Meredith, could you start a bath? It's been a long day. Thank you. I -- I have to go out. I have to run an errand, but I will be back soon.

[ Door opens ]

[ Door closes ]

Victoria: I made it very clear to my father that I was not happy with his actions.

Billy: Good. Tell him you're in charge and that you're gonna squash this deal with ashland locke.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I told the kids that I would take them skating tomorrow. I don't suppose you'd be interested in joining us.

Billy: I'm sorry, are we leaving this conversation behind to bring up the children now?

Victoria: Well, the kids will always be my top priority. Business is something else entirely.

Billy: Yeah, I agree. The kids are top priority. And, yeah, I'd love to go skating because I had a blast last time.

Victoria: Good. Is that why you told katie that she should be a hockey player?

Billy: I have an eye for talent.

Victoria: Well, great. Well, then maybe you can take her to all those early morning practices.

Billy: We'll find an arrangement. Now, can we get back to you stealing this company out from underneath me?

Victoria: I told you, I'm not discussing that with you anymore, so we can either talk about the kids or you can leave.

Billy: Yeah, let's talk about the kids. Let's talk about how I'm getting whiplash from you telling me that you want me to spend time with the kids and then telling me that you don't want me anywhere around her. Honestly, the change in schedules is making it a little chaotic.

Victoria: I've already apologized for sending mixed messages. But I don't really want to talk about that either.

Billy: Okay. So I guess I'll see you at the rink, then?

Victoria: Oh, I'm looking forward to it.

Billy: Great. Should I bring lily?

Victoria: Of course.

Lily: I'm not trying to dissuade you from doing this. I'm actually very moved by this desire that you have to give abby this miracle. You know, the same miracle that you started to experience when hilary was pregnant, and then that got taken away from you.

Devon: So do you think that I'm doing this to make up for the baby that I lost?

Lily: Yeah. I'm wondering if that's a part of it.

Devon: Well... yeah, I think -- I think in a way that me wanting to help abby and chance is connected to that loss a little bit. But not in the sense of needing to replace something that i didn't get to have. It's about almost being a parent and that anticipation that you have and those moments of looking forward to being that role to somebody. I remember that it gave me an amazing feeling.

Lily: Yeah. I remember that from when I was waiting for the twins to be born.

Devon: Yeah, I know you know. And fate and circumstances are trying to keep abby and chance from having that feeling. And they just need help. So if I can be that person to make all their losses and their setbacks result in a child that's loved and wanted, I think that's a wonderful thing. And to know that I was able to step up for my best friend and, down the line, be the favorite uncle, I think that's pretty cool, too.

Lily: Okay. Well, you know why I had to ask.

Devon: I do, 'cause you're my sister and you love me. And I appreciate you. But did you get the answer you were looking for?

Lily: Yes, I did. This is an amazing gift that you're offering your friends. And no matter what they decide, it's gonna be a very special kid. Do we really need a sign to live, laugh, and love?

Nick: Didn't peg you as the drinking-alone type.

Rey: Well, you're here now, so I guess I'm not alone.

Nick: I just cruised by the house to talk to sharon.

Rey: Great. Another interaction she probably won't tell me about. Am I gonna find a picture of it online in a few days?

Nick: Look, we're just trying to come up with ways to keep the damage from this thing to a minimum.

Rey: Let me get this straight -- you went to where i live and you talked to my wife about our problem?

Nick: My daughter lives in that house, rey. I will do whatever it takes to protect her, including letting faith come stay with me for a few weeks while you and sharon work some stuff out.

Rey: Yeah, yeah, you see the problem with that?

Nick: Well, obviously you do.

Rey: It's another one of sharon's exes interfering with her life, and it never ends.

Nick: Rey --

Rey: I turn around, and every time I see another newman, and I am sick of it. Why the hell won't you all just leave us alone?

Nick: Look, you are angry and frustrated, and I get it, but your fight is not with me. I have been on your side the whole time. Adam is the enemy here.

Sharon: What are you doing here? You can't -- you can't just show up at my house.

Adam: I-I wouldn't have come by if rey's car was in the driveway. Can I come in?

[ Sighs ] Look, I don't want to make things harder on you.

Sharon: [ Sighs ] It's a little late for that.

Adam: I know that the photo is out there. Rey just came by and told me about it.

Sharon: He came to see you?

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Sharon: What did he say? What did you say?

Adam: Well, he did most of the talking. He threatened to bring me in.

Sharon: To arrest you?

Adam: I guess.

Sharon: For what?

Adam: I don't know. He was angry, he was confused.

Sharon: Well, understandably so, right?

Adam: I told him to calm down. Chelsea was there. I didn't want him doing anything he was gonna regret. But then I wanted to come see you and check on you, see if you were alright.

Sharon: Well, I'm not alright, thanks of you. That stupid stunt has just put everything in jeopardy. Why did you kiss me in a public place where rey's sister works?

Adam: It just happened. Okay? I wasn't planning on it. It's not like I was looking for an opportunity.

Sharon: No, I know. That's what I told rey and nick.

Adam: Wait, nick was here?

Sharon: Yeah, he's very concerned.

Adam: Okay, it's none of his business.

Sharon: Now it's everybody's business because of that photo.

Adam: I'm sorry, sharon, okay? I'm sorry, but...

Sharon: But what?

Adam: That kiss -- I can't get it out of my mind.

Sharon: You need to leave.

Adam: Okay, look, will you just hear me out?

Sharon: No! Listen to me, I... I've made my feelings clear.

Adam: Sharon.

Sharon: You have to leave, adam.

Adam: Okay. I will go --

Sharon: No, I mean now. You can't come back here. You have to stay away.

Adam: [ Sighs ]

[ Door closes ]

Chelsea: That's it. You can do it. Now let's see what's really going on. I've lost count of how many asthma attacks I've had.

Devon: Alright, I'm gonna head out. But thank you for talking to me.

Lily: Of course, any time. And, you know, keep me updated.

Devon: I will, for sure. Love you.

Lily: Alright, bye.

Devon: Yeah.

Billy: Hey, have a good night. Hi.

Lily: Hi.

Billy: What did I miss?

Lily: Oh, nothing. Just some good sister/brother bonding.

Billy: Nice.

Lily: How was your drive?

Billy: It was good. Cleared my head a little bit. I -- I ended up at victoria's to ask her directly about this cyaxares deal.

Lily: I'm not surprised.

Billy: Turns out it's victor's idea. He went behind victoria's back, like I thought.

Lily: Yeah, well, I've thought about it, and no matter whose idea it was, I do not want to get into a bidding war with newman.

Billy: I agree. I don't think it's worth it. And I'm assuming that victor's idea is to acquire cyaxares to go after chanccomm -- and me. We just have to hope that victoria squashes the deal.

Lily: Do you think that's a possibility?

Billy: I don't think she wants to go along with victor's plan. And I don't believe that she would do that to me.

Victoria: Let me guess, you just happened to be in the neighborhood.

Victor: No, I didn'T. I came by because I didn't like the way we left things before.

Victoria: Neither did I.

Victor: I'm proud of you, very proud of you. You're doing a hell of a job as ceo, and I probably should have told you more often.

Victoria: Thanks. It's nice to hear.

Victor: Mm-hmm. Still mad at me?

Victoria: [ Chuckles ]

Victor: Hmm? Okay. Now we've got that out of the way, I've been thinking about what I suggested before. I think locke's media company is well within our range. I think an acquisition of the company would be a good thing. We would be a competitor again in the media world, you know? Now, if you don't like it, then --

Victoria: It's not the deal. It'S... it's the reason that you're trying to pursue the company.

Victor: Mm.

Victoria: You're not trying to acquire it as some part of a long-term investment. You're trying to use it as a weapon.

Victor: Well, I mean, in the end, any acquisition can be used as a weapon, yes.

Victoria: Yes, but you're not interested in going to battle with your competitors for market share. You're trying to use it to destroy billy.

Victor: He's a competitor. And I want to damn well destroy him.

Victoria: I get it, but it has nothing to do with profitability or return-on-investment. You just want to try to destroy billy because he's billy, and i just -- I can't play that game.

Victor: Well, darling, you're my daughter. You're a newman. Right now you think you can't destroy him, but deep down, I know you believe that you can.

Nick: You know, I've been where you're at -- mad as hell, hurting, maybe even feeling a little bit destructive over something adam has done.

Rey: Don't -- don't say his name.

Nick: Hell, I've even tried that. Doesn't work, but imagine if it did.

Rey: I apologize for going off on you, nick. You've been nothing but supportive of me and sharon. I just -- I needed to lash out at somebody.

Nick: It's all good. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help.

Rey: You know, I don't even understand how the two of you are brothers.

Nick: The thing about...him who we are not naming is his special gift in life is wreaking havoc on other people's lives. He does whatever the hell he wants, says what he wants with any fear of consequences. And you just happen to be caught in the middle this time.

Rey: With sharon.

Nick: She's got a huge heart, and adam loves taking advantage of that. Sharon still thinks she can save him, but I think he's beyond saving.

Rey: She knows how I feel about him. She could choose to walk away, but she hasn'T.

Nick: Sharon loves you, rey. Don't give up on her. She needs you right now, probably more than she's ever needed anyone.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

[ Door opens ]

Adam: Hey. Told you I'd be back quickly. I rushed home to see you. I worry about you when I'm away for too long. Hey, chels. It's okay. It's okay.
