Abby: Chance? Can you come in here?
[ Sighs ]
Chance: You alright?
Abby: I'm fine. I am feeling so much better than when we talked before. I am feeling re-energized now that I am not dwelling on things that I can't control, and knowing that you're on board is a huge relief. Now we can really look towards the future.
Chance: It's the beginning of a new chapter for us.
Abby: So, in that vein, i have done a lot of research on different ways that we can grow our family, and I was thinking that we could discuss that. No pressure.
Chance: Let's talk.
Abby: Obviously we don't have to make any decisions tonight.
Chance: That's good to know.
Abby: We don't have to make any decisions tonight, but I was kind of hoping that we could.
Chance: [ Chuckles ] How about you tell me what you've learned, and we'll see where the night takes us.
Phyllis: Hey, thanks for letting me join you.
Nick: Thanks for coming.
Faith: I'm gonna go see if lola's working tonight. It's always nice to see her.
Nick: [ Inhales deeply ]
Phyllis: Okay. She doesn't want me here.
Nick: That'S... that's probably not true.
Phyllis: Yeah, it's true. I think she's still holding a grudge because I was the one who told you about the drinking and...told you about my suspicions regarding her friend jordan.
Nick: Well, if it makes you feel any better, she's not happy with me, either. I guess she overheard me and sharon talking about her situation and she felt betrayed. And, oh, man, I just -- I feel terrible for her. She's hurting, and her emotions are all over the place, and I'm just...
Phyllis: Yeah.
Nick: Hey, is lola here?
Faith: No, she has the night off. I just got an e-mail about my project for history class. Uh, we're gonna jump on a group call to figure out who's doing what. So, could you guys give me some privacy?
Devon: [ Sighs ]
Amanda: Hi.
Devon: Oh, hello.
Amanda: Thank you for meeting me here. There's been a little change in my schedule.
Devon: Oh, yeah. There's nowhere else I'd rather be. What's going on?
Amanda: Well, I won't have time for dinner right now.
Devon: That's okay. You could have texted me that, though.
Amanda: I'm not canceling. Um, for you, I can squeeze in drinks.
Devon: Okay.
Amanda: But then I have to go and, um, pack for a trip, so...
Devon: Got to pack for a trip? So our first official date is gonna be out of town, you're saying?
Amanda: [ Scoffs ]
Billy: Okay, the key to putting is to just relax. You want to channel your inner zen. Smooth little pull-back and then you just follow through, nice and easy. Keep everything nice and light, okay? See?
Lily: Um, I think that's a little over their heads.
Billy: Yeah, you're probably right. Okay, katie, step up. Let's see what you got.
[ Claps hands ] Let's go, katie. Make daddy proud.
Lily: Whoo-hoo.
Billy: Oh, yes! That's my girl!
Lily: Wow!
Billy: Nice one. Wow, you're a natural.
Lily: That was really good. I think you're better than your dad.
Billy: Well, this is how dad relaxes, okay? This is how dad comes up with his brilliant ideas.
Lily: Really? With help from his partner.
Billy: Yeah.
Lily: Yeah?
[ Chuckles ]
Victoria: [ Clears throat ]
Both: Mommy!
Billy: Hey.

Faith: Okay, so, um, I'll handle the introduction and the charts, and then you just call me back when you finish reading the chapter? Okay, great. Talk soon. Bye.
Phyllis: So that sounded like it went well.
Faith: Um, yeah. Yeah, we've done a ton of group projects before, so it's not like it was hard. Um, but I'm gonna have to keep working on it tonight 'cause it's due soon.
Nick: No worries. Schoolwork always comes first, but in the meantime, what are you gonna order?
Faith: Probably the chicken with lime.
Nick: Solid choice.
Phyllis: Good.
Nick: So good here.
Phyllis: Yeah, agreed. Hey, so, faith, we're thinking of doing, uh, a really cool sort of spa package catering to young -- young adults.
Faith: Yep.
Phyllis: Well, I mean, is that something you'd be interested in? You know, pedicures, manicures, massage?
Faith: Probably not.
Phyllis: Okay. Well...
Nikki: Well, hello, everyone. Hi.
Nick: Hey, mom, what are you doing here? I thought you were taking off for hawaii with vic.
Nikki: Yeah, well, shortly after we took off, we hit bad weather and we got diverted back to genoa city.
Nick: Ah, that's too bad.
Nikki: Well, we're hoping it'll clear up and we can take off again early in the morning. In the meantime, I am here to order takeout.
Nick: Well, why don't you just join us?
Nikki: Um... w-- I-I don't want to impose.
Phyllis: Oh, no, please, please.
Nikki: Well, alright.
[ Chair scrapes ]
Phyllis: Well, isn't this great?
Faith: So great.
Nikki: Well, you and I were talking about spending some time together, maybe we can go riding when I come back from hawaii.
Faith: Yeah. Yeah, I'm just really busy with school and everything.
Nikki: Or since I'm suddenly free tonight, we could go up to the stables after dinner.
Faith: I'm kinda tired.
Nikki: You haven't visited your horse in a while. I'll bet patches misses you. We could go for a ride and chat.
Faith: Chat about what?
Nikki: Oh, I don't know. Anything and everything.
Faith: You don't have to lie. I know what this is really about.
Nikki: I just thought it would be nice if we spent some time together.
Faith: [ Scoffs ] No, you want to lecture me on the evils of drinking.
Abby: So, the most common option is adoption. But in adoption, there are so many different options. There's international or domestic. Whether we want to use a lawyer or an agency. If we want an open adoption or a closed adoption. If we want an infant or an older child. And then the other option is surrogacy. Now, I may not be able to carry our child, but the doctor said my eggs are still viable. So that means we wouldn't have to find an egg donor. The baby would be ours, biologically. We would just have to find a gestational carrier. Now, with that is a relationship that we have to navigate, both emotionally and legally. And I can see pros and cons to both options. I mean, some have more control, some have less control. Some... I don't know. [ Chuckles ]
Chance: Is it my turn to talk?
Abby: Yes.
Chance: As much as i appreciate all of the research you've done and your passion, I'm a little less interested in what you know and a lot more interested in what you want. And if we're to make such an important, life-changing decision, I think we should go with our hearts, just as much as with our heads.
Amanda: I will be getting on a plane, but not with you, with your sister.
Devon: I'm a lot more fun than my sister, just saying.
Amanda: Well, I will tell her that you said that.
Devon: You do that.
Amanda: We're gonna be leaving for new york first thing in the morning, just to check out a business opportunity for chanccomm. And I will be tagging along to provide legal counsel.
Devon: That sounds exciting. Aside from the cramped plane ride there.
Amanda: It's not the worst thing in the world. I think we'll survive.
Devon: I mean, if you don't have to, though, why would you?
Amanda: Well, jill is using the chancellor jet, so we have to.
Devon: You can use mine, if you'd like.
Amanda: [ Chuckles ] That would be way too generous of an offer.
Devon: Oh, really? Okay, well, it won't be a favor for you, then. It'll be a favor for my sister. How about that?
Amanda: Wow.
Devon: Yeah, 'cause I know lily won't turn it down.
Amanda: Oh, when you put it that way, I guess I speak on behalf of both of us when I say yes, yes, yes.
[ Both laugh ] Thank you.
Devon: Of course. You're very welcome. I'm not using it, so it's fine. And if you guys want some company and you'd like me to tag along, I always have work to do in manhattan.
Amanda: Really?
Devon: Yeah. That is, if you want me to come.
Amanda: Are you asking me to invite you on your own plane?
Devon: I mean, you can't deny, we would have a hell of a time, don't you think?
Amanda: Wow. You are really laying on the charm.
Devon: [ Chuckles ] Is it working?
Amanda: [ Chuckles ] Maybe.
Devon: Hmm.
Amanda: But I am sorry. I cannot mix business and pleasure on this trip.
Devon: Oh. I'm sure you and lily are planning to have some fun. You're not gonna work the whole time, are you?
Amanda: That's a little different. We are colleagues. I need to stay focused. I can't have any distractions.
Devon: So I'm a distraction is what you're saying. Okay, that's fine. I'll take it as a compliment. I must be on your mind quite a bit.
Amanda: We are supposed to be having drinks, so why don't we order, hmm?
Devon: Okay.
[ Both chuckle ]
Billy: Well, that's unfortunate your plane got turned around, but hawaii will be there whenever you and nikki arrive.
Victoria: Well, fingers crossed we'll get out first thing tomorrow. I went by the house. You guys weren't there. I figured you might still be here.
Billy: Yeah.
Victoria: So is billy showing the kids how he runs things at chanccomm?
Lily: Yeah, I've just accepted the office is the 19th hole, and it's a good stress relief sometimes.
Billy: Yes, this is how dad relaxes. But you're having fun, aren't you?
Johnny: Yeah.
Billy: Yeah?
Katie: Yeah!
Billy: Yeah, good. You want to try it?
Victoria: Thanks, but no.
Billy: Okay. Well, just as well, we were just about to take the kids for dinner.
Johnny: Can mommy come?
Katie: Yeah, can mommy come? I'm frankie thompson. The best dressed assistant
Victoria: Well, um, look, i don't mean to intrude on your plans, and I do actually have some work that I can take care of now that the trip's on hold.
Lily: You know, I have stuff to finish up, so why don't you guys go and spend time together before you leave tomorrow?
Victoria: A-are you sure?
Lily: Yeah, absolutely.
Billy: Well, I don't see why we can't all go to dinner together.
Johnny: I want pizza at home.
Katie: Me, too.
Lily: Well, that sounds like an executive decision.
Billy: Okay, pizza sounds good. But, uh, lily leaves tomorrow, too.
Lily: No, you guys have dinner. We'll have a nightcap after.
Billy: Okay. Sounds like a plan.
Victoria: Wow, that is the perfect solution.
Abby: When I was looking over all the different options, i thought, "yeah, adoption would be a wonderful one." We have so much love to give a baby who needs a home. But even if we did find a birth mother looking to place her baby, it would probably be months and months into the pregnancy.
Chance: Would that be a problem for you?
Abby: Well, I was hoping to be a part of the journey from the very beginning. Like, I want to go to all the doctors' appointments and the ultrasounds. I want to be a part of it from conception to birth.
Chance: I can understand that.
Abby: But to be honest, i just... I so desperately wanted to carry our baby. And the thought of someone else doing that would take some getting used to. But with surrogacy, the baby would be half of both of us. I think I want to go with surrogacy.
Chance: Yeah?
Abby: Yeah.
[ Chuckles ] How do you feel about that?
Chance: I feel great about that. And I really hope our baby has your eyes.
Abby: [ Sighs ]
Nikki: Faith, I'm not looking to lecture you. But I am worried about you.
Faith: Worried? Please, you're all scared out of your minds. And you should be. 'Cause you have no idea what I've really been up to.
Nick: What are you talking about?
Faith: What you're imagining I've been doing is just the tip of the iceberg. Yeah, you should've seen the last party that jordan and i went to. Strip poker. Red cups, beer pong.
[ Scoffs ] There was this one girl who actually thought that long island iced tea was really iced tea.
[ Chuckles ] Guess who that was. You know, they actually taste pretty good after you've had a few.
Nick: Okay. You've made your point.
Faith: No.
Nick: No more.
Faith: You know what? How about this? There was this one guy --
Nick: No. Hey, no.
Faith: Why? It's what you all think I'm doing, isn't it?
Nick: Nobody said that.
Faith: [ Sighs ] Phyllis, you ratted me out because I messed up and drank too much a couple of times, so now thanks to that, I'm "out of control" faith. Headed down the same alcoholic path as grandma because it's in my genes.
Nick: Faith.
Faith: And I know my parents asked you to step in, so don't try to deny it. And you and mom want to send me to therapy. You act like I'm stupid and can't be trusted. You never let me out of your sight! I mean, you really act like I'm a lost cause, and I am sick of it.
Nick: Faith, wait.
Nikki: Nicholas.
Nick: [ Sighs ] (Vo) outside can be sweet.
Nick: I mean, should we go after faith?
Phyllis: Give her a sec.
Nick: Mom, I'm so sorry. I'm sure you weren't prepared for that.
Nikki: Actually, I was more prepared than you might think. Sharon filled me in on everything, including faith's drinking.
Nick: Yeah, I wanted to talk to you about that myself.
Nikki: Oh, it was just a timing thing. I happened to run into sharon. We're all in this together.
Nick: [ Sighs ] You know, I know faith is really struggling. I didn't expect tonight to be great, but I was hoping it would at least be normal and that faith could be reassured that we love her and that nothing's changed, but I think the exact opposite happened.
Phyllis: I think she's most upset at me because she thinks I'm the reason for all the problems between you and sharon, so...
Nikki: What an interesting way to make this all about you.
Phyllis: I wasn't doing that. I was just saying that maybe i should talk to her because she'll vent to me and maybe i can draw her out.
Nikki: No. I should be the one to talk to her.
Abby: We don't have to make any decisions tonight. We can sleep on it and talk about it in the morning.
Chance: You know... I don't need any more time. A surrogate. That's the way to go.
Abby: Are we really doing this?
Chance: I think we are.
[ Chuckles ]
Abby: This has just been such a roller coaster. I mean, the devastation of finding out that I can never get pregnant again, and then now knowing that we can still have everything we dreamed about. It's incredible.
Chance: It was quite the gut punch when we got the news, but all we had to do was re-calibrate, come to terms with the situation. And now we need to start thinking about how to find a surrogate.
Abby: Oh, there are agencies that do that. Their sole purpose is to make a good match. Although I do wish that we could find someone that we know and trust, someone we already have a relationship with.
Chance: Do you have anyone in mind? 'Cause that's a lot to ask.
Abby: It is, yeah. I mean, of course my first thought is someone in our family, but, oh, we couldn't ask victoria. She has her own personal history with pregnancy.
Chance: You know, we'll just keep thinking about it. We'll find the perfect person.
Billy: So what kind of pizza we want, the usual?
Victoria: Uh, pepperoni with extra cheese.
Billy: Yes, ma'am.
Victoria: So, you kids, you seem to have fun with daddy and lily at daddy's office, huh?
Katie: I like lily.
Johnny: Yeah, she's nice and funny.
Victoria: Yeah, she's funny and nice.
Billy: Hey, how about we go with anchovies on the pizza? How's that sound?
Katie: No!
Billy: Come on, switch it up.
Johnny: Ew!
Billy: Really? Okay, fine. Pepperoni and cheese it is. But how about we do some chocolate sundaes for dessert?
Johnny: Yeah!
Katie: Yeah!
Billy: Yeah!
Devon: So just so you know, this is the second time that you've turned down a trip to new york with me.
Amanda: I have a feeling that we will get there someday.
Devon: I like that confidence.
Amanda: Well, I call 'em as i see 'em.
Devon: I think that we're finally seeing things the same way now. It's nice. Come a long way in our relationship. Lot of ups and downs. Started off as adversaries and went to acquaintances and now friends.
Amanda: Good friends. You have really been there for me lately. You have to know how much i appreciate that.
Devon: It's been my pleasure. And you need to know that I have enjoyed every single second of getting to know you, and I'm very excited to continue to get to know you. And see where this goes. I hope I'm not being too forward, though, in saying that.
Amanda: No. Um... you're being honest. And I like honest. I am looking forward to seeing where this goes, too.
Devon: It's crazy 'cause there's some people out there that already think that we're -- we're a thing and happening. And we haven't done anything yet. We haven't had a date.
Amanda: Mm-hmm.
Devon: We haven't even had a first kiss. (Upbeat music plays)
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Billy: Hear that? No, you don't, 'cause that's silence.
Victoria: Yeah, because you let the kids con you into giving them more screen time.
Billy: I only let them watch a movie while we wait for the pizza. That should be here any minute. And don't worry, I'm not just gonna throw a device in front of their face while you're gone. I will take great care of them.
Victoria: You can always hold a miniature golf tournament at your office if you get stuck.
Billy: Does it bother you that I brought them there?
Victoria: No, of course not.
Billy: 'Cause I heard you talking, and it sounded like maybe it did bother you a little bit that they were getting along with lily so well. Just so you know, as far as they're considered, lily is only a colleague and a friend.
Victoria: If you're trying to suss out if I'm jealous of your relationship with lily and your new life...I'm not. I'll just be clear about that. I told you, I'm happy for you. But you've been asking me so often, I have to wonder if maybe you're the one who's questioning what you want.
Chance: Look, I know that this isn't the path that we expected, but how often does life go according to plan?
Abby: A year ago, I-i couldn't have seen any of this -- marriage, you, me, a family.
Chance: There's not a day that goes by that I don't appreciate how far we've come and how lucky we are. And one day, when our child is old enough to hear how he or she came into this world, we'll be able to tell them how much we wanted a baby and what an amazing gift they are.
Abby: They won't have the most conventional birth story, but, hey, neither did I. I found out that victor was my biological father by accident, and then I blurted it out to him. But I got to say, it was kind of nice having two dads growing up for a while. Victor and brad. And even though ashley and victor weren't married when i was growing up, they were both devoted parents.
Chance: You know, I didn't get to know my biological father until after I was an adult. And then when my stepdad passed, it was just my mother and I. She loved me unconditionally, and we had a fantastic life. And that just goes to show you that everyone has their own unique story. There is no one way to build a family.
Abby: We are gonna do it our way, and it's gonna be magical.
Chance: Yes, it is.
Amanda: I'm not sure that a kiss would be a good idea.
Devon: Oh. I thought we were on the same page. I'm sorry.
Amanda: Oh, we are. Um... I want to kiss you, but... are you sure that you want to take that step? I mean, wouldn't it be weird for you, kissing someone who looks exactly like your late wife?
Devon: No, it wouldn'T. 'Cause you're not her. You guys, you're both very, very different people. And sure, when I first met you, I couldn't help but think of hilary, yeah, but I don't do that anymore. I don't see her. I see you. I hear your voice. I know how your mind works.
Amanda: You know how my mind works?
Devon: I'm getting there. I'm learning. I know that, uh -- that you're always about 10 steps ahead of everybody you talk to. Usually can predict what people say. So I -- I'm probably gonna lose a lot of arguments in the future, I know that.
Amanda: Oh, you are right about that.
Devon: [ Chuckles ] I know that if we ever get chinese food, I got to get to the spring rolls right away or else they'll be gone.
Amanda: I did not know that you were paying such close attention.
Devon: Always, yeah. No, I -- I just -- I admire you. I admire your strength, your independence in life. And I... I can't wait to know everything there is to know about you.
Amanda: Well, I have been paying attention, too.
Devon: Mm.
Amanda: And what I've learned about you since I got to town, it's all good.
[ Both chuckle ] Um...you are kind. And you are generous. And despite everything that has happened to you, your heart is open and you know what you want, and that is amazing. And I am excited to learn even more.
Devon: [ Chuckles ]
Nikki: I know you're upset, but will you do me a favor and follow me?
Faith: You want me to leave with you?
Nikki: We're not leaving. I just thought we could use some fresh air. Come on. Come on.
Nick: I sure hope mom's able to break through some of faith's walls and really have a heart-to-heart with her, but even if that happens, it's not like everything is gonna end, you know? There's no magic words to make everything better.
Phyllis: Yeah, it's very hard with teenagers.
Nick: After everything that's happened, maybe -- you know, maybe sharon and I do need to be more proactive, stay on top of her even more than we already are.
Phyllis: Yeah, that's one way to go. And also a way to push her into something a lot more extreme.
Feeling sluggish or weighed
down?
Phyllis: Listen, I think faith is lashing out because she resents everybody being so terrified about what she's gonna do next. I mean, the way that she sees it, everybody's bending over backwards to back her into a corner. And I just think that...like, keeping a tight leash around her is just gonna make her rebel more. You know teenagers.
Nick: I know that's a possibility, but I can't sit back and do nothing.
Phyllis: Oh, I'm not saying do nothing. I'm just...saying, you know, gentle guidance is a little better than forcing her into what you think is the right direction. Just...proceed with caution.
Nikki: Sometimes I find that when I breathe in the crisp, cold air, it helps to clear my head.
Faith: I'm sorry I lost it like that and called you a liar. I just... never mind.
Nikki: You don't have to apologize or explain. I already know why you're angry and a little defensive. I did raise a couple of kids, you know. It's very difficult being young and misunderstood.
[ Sighs ] It's almost like people don't really see you for who you are.
Faith: Yes. That's exactly how it feels. But my parents don't understand. They're completely overreacting.
Nikki: Well, I don't know if I'd go that far. You have been pushing your limits and making mistakes that are concerning. And I know you don't want to hear this, but it is a fact that you have a genetic predisposition for alcoholism.
Faith: [ Sighs ] So what, it's my destiny?
Nikki: Oh, honey, nobody thinks that you're a lost cause. And I don't ever want you to think of yourself that way. As frustrating and difficult as it is right now, I can promise you, things will get better. They did for me, and I was quite the handful when I was younger.
Faith: Yeah. I've heard stories about that, but it's kind of hard to picture.
Nikki: I know. My sister casey didn't understand the choices that i made, and I hated feeling that i was being judged, just like you. So know this -- I will never judge you. All I want to do is love and protect you. And that's all your parents want to do, as well.
Faith: I know. It just doesn't always feel like that. But, um, I think I'm ready to go deal with dad and phyllis now.
Nikki: You want me to go back in there with you?
Faith: No. I think I'd better do this by myself.
Nikki: Okay. And I want you to know that you can call me anytime, day or night, if you just want to talk. I love you very much.
Faith: Love you, too.
[ Sniffles ] Okay.
Nikki: Go on. [ Chuckles ]
Billy: Full bellies and sweet dreams for those kids. Our work here is done.
Victoria: That was a good night.
Billy: Yeah, it was. Listen, I'm gonna take off. I don't want to leave lily waiting. But before I go, I'd like to answer your question from earlier.
Victoria: Oh, no, please, i should never have asked. I'm sorry about that. It's not my business.
Billy: Really? Because when you said my "new life," as you put it, you know, that new life involves my kids. So I want you to know that I am happy and that I'm in a good place and I'm not questioning anything. And I guess the reason why i keep asking you is because it's really important to me that we're in a good place, too.
Victoria: We are. The two of us. And the four of us, as a family.
Billy: Yeah. Okay, I'm gonna be back here tomorrow afternoon when the kids get home from school. I hope the weather gods cooperate with you and you can enjoy every sun-soaked minute in hawaii. Good night.
Victoria: Good night.
[ Sighs ]
Amanda: I hate to say good night, but, um, I have to finish a few things for work before i start packing, so...
Devon: Yeah, I completely understand. Yeah. I think for a -- a non-official first date, it was pretty nice.
Amanda: I agree.
Devon: You haven't changed your mind about that kiss, though, right?
Amanda: [ Chuckles ] Soon. Soon.
Devon: Alright.
This is hal.
Amanda: [ Sighs ]
Nick: How you doing?
Faith: Better. Thanks. I'm really sorry I went off like that.
Nick: [ Sighs ] Faith, you don't ever have to apologize to me about the way you're feeling. Okay? But I absolutely need you to be more respectful and polite. And just know that the only thing I care about is protecting you, because I don't care if you're getting older, you're always gonna be my little girl.
Faith: I know what you think you're doing is best. But I'm not a little girl anymore. I am growing up, and I'm not scared of monsters hiding under the bed.
Nick: Well, I want to get rid of all the monsters.
Faith: I need to learn how to take care of myself. And I might mess up sometimes, but I promise you I'll figure it out.
Nick: Okay.
Faith: Okay. So...could we maybe start this night over again?
Nick: Yeah, let's do that.
Phyllis: Let's do that. I'm all about second chances, so let's do it.
Faith: Um, can I also get a do-over on those teen spa packages you were telling me about? Because I'm kind of obsessed with nail polish, so that might be fun.
Phyllis: Absolutely. I'll make you an appointment.
Billy: Hi.
Lily: Hi. I just ordered us some cocktails -- little wintry thing.
Billy: Look at that. Looks good. I'm in.
Lily: [ Chuckles ] How was dinner?
Billy: Oh, it was good. Kids had fun. They definitely had fun with you. You were a big hit with johnny and katie.
Lily: Oh, good, I'm glad. They were really sweet.
Billy: Yeah.
Lily: Although I'm guessing that victoria didn't appreciate my encroaching in her kids' lives?
Billy: Well, I kind of had the same feeling, that she wasn't exactly comfortable with it, but I asked her straightaway and she insisted that she didn't have a problem with it.
Lily: Well, I mean, what else is she gonna say?
Billy: Yeah. No, I know. It's not a simple yes-or-no answer, "are you okay with me dating lily?" But, you know, it's one of those co-parenting things. When you have a long history with someone, it can get a little complicated, as you know. But she likes you. She respects you. It's just, you know, seeing your ex with someone else and then seeing your kids with that person, as well.
Lily: Yeah, I understand that.
Billy: I'm sure it'd be weird for me, too, you know, seeing victoria with another guy and then seeing the kids and them all together, but as long as he's a good guy, do my best to keep an open mind and remember that more love and affection for the kids is a good thing. I think that's where victoria's trying to get to. Just might take a little bit of time.
Abby: The first thing we need to do is choose a professional who will help us find candidates. Then we will meet all the candidates. And then, even once we pick one and vice versa, it doesn't guarantee that the pregnancy is gonna take the first time.
Chance: But once it does, we will be parents nine months later.
Abby: I just want to make sure that we're managing our expectations because finding a surrogate, I mean, that can be a long process in and of itself.
Chance: And whoever it is is going to be a meaningful part of our lives for a long time to come.
Abby: Someone we will have a connection with forever. I just -- I so wish that we could find someone that we know, someone that we -- we trust, someone who won't think that I'm crazy when I will call them every single night making sure they made it home safe.
Chance: That's a nice idea, i just don't know how realistic it is.
Abby: [ Sighs ] Or maybe it is.
Chance: What are you thinking?
