Episode #11791 ~ Nikki shares bad news; Summer makes a confession; Victoria confronts Amanda about her connection to Billy.

Previouly on  "the young and the restless"...

Summer: It's just been really hard watching you change yourself for lola. I just want you to be happy again.

Kyle: She asked if I married lola because I got caught up in the romance of it all. Lola might be feeling the same thing.

Jack: Ask her.

Billy: I told you that I went to have a drink with a colleague, and that's not actually true. It was amanda, the attorney. She's a friend of mine.

Victoria: Well, congratulations. I'm happy that you have someone to talk to.

Billy: Am I in trouble?

Amanda: The man at the poker table said that you started the altercation.

Billy: Yeah, I guess that's true.

Nikki: How's your day going?

Victoria: Uh, pretty well, considering. Work is a good distraction for less pleasant subjects.

Nikki: Well, you'll have to forgive me, then, because... that's what I've come to talk to you about. I have news about billy.

Billy: So, I hear you have some news for me.

Amanda: Yes. I have quietly settled with all parties.

Billy: Fantastic. Thank you so much.

Amanda: No one affected by the brawl will be pressing any charges, and, also, I've spoken to michael baldwin. He has also agreed that he will not be filing a criminal complaint.

Billy: No cooperating witnesses?

Amanda: Well, ours is not to ask why.

Billy: Uh, yeah. Good point.

Amanda: So, you got the result that you wanted. You spent the necessary funds to make the problem go away.

Billy: Am I banned from the bar?

Amanda: No one has said that to me, but I would probably wait until they fixed everything that you broke before you show your face there again.

Billy: Yeah. That's probably a smart thing to do. Thank you so much for handling this, uh, quietly and discreetly.

Amanda: I would say, "anytime," but I wouldn't want you to take that literally.

Billy: No. I'm not gonna make a habit of it, okay? I got it out of my system.

Amanda: Good.

Billy: For now, at least.

Amanda: [ Chuckles ] Okay. Well, if there is nothing else, I better get going.

Billy: Hold on. Just, uh, finish your tea.

Amanda: No, no. I should -- I should go.

Billy: Come on. It's five minutes.

Amanda: You have a good day, billy.

Billy: Okay. Hold on a sec. Did I...screw this up? I mean, are we not -- are we not friends anymore?

Kyle: Hey.

Lola: Why aren't you at the office?

Kyle: Well, I, um, decided to work from home today.

Lola: Oh.

Kyle: I would've told you, but you've been working till midnight lately, and I've been leaving early, so...

Lola: We keep missing each other.

Kyle: I'm reviewing the contract from the san francisco deal, making sure nothing could come back to bite us later, before it's finalized.

Lola: That's great.

Kyle: My dad's taking a lot of meetings in the office, so... I figured I would come home to take advantage of the peace and quiet.

Lola: Okay. Um... you know, I don't -- I don't have to be here. Um, I guess I just had the same idea.

Kyle: Yeah?

Lola: Yeah. I was gonna work on updating the menu, but... I can always do that downstairs.

Kyle: No, you -- you don't have to leave. I'll even volunteer to be a taste-tester.

Lola: Well, before I start cooking.... maybe you'll want to take... a break with me?

Kyle: Uh, I really need to get these notes to my dad by the end of the day.

[ Sighs ] Sorry.

Lola: It's okay. I'll try not to take it personally.

Summer: My god, theo! What was she thinking, doing an unboxing video in a cemetery on top of a random tombstone? I mean, I don't know whether to laugh or to scream!

Theo: She thought it was artsy -- I mean, all those big, dramatic trees against the sky. I don't know.

Summer: Okay. Well, it was tacky and morbid and in extremely poor taste, so I'm gonna need you to tell her to take it down immediately.

Theo: I'm on it.

Summer: I mean, this post has been up for over an hour, theo. This looks so bad for our brand. Jack is gonna throw a fit.

Theo: She's logging in now to delete it. The post is gone, and she's very sorry, and I will talk to her about guidelines, hmm?

Summer: Oh. Well, maybe you need to talk to yourself while you're at it about doing a better job vetting these influencers. Or maybe you've just gotten so sloppy at your job because you're spending over half your time mooning over lola.

Theo: You don't want to go there.

Summer: You told me that you were gonna focus on the work --

Theo: Just like you focused on the work on your recent trip with kyle? Hmm?

Summer: Yes, exactly.

Theo: You're so full of it. I know what happened in san francisco.

Summer: What are you babbling about now, theo?

Theo: Oh, I'm sorry. What "didn't" happen in san francisco. That is the official story, right?

Amanda: Nothing has changed between us. I'm just in professional mode.

Billy: Are you sure? 'Cause it feels a little bit different to me, and maybe we should talk about last night and clear the air.

Amanda: About what?

Billy: Amanda, look, you're -- you're a friend to me, okay? I was pretty mixed up there for a few weeks, and you really helped me find some clarity, and that is not a small feat.

Amanda: I'm glad. And I probably did the exact opposite for you. I probably...messed with your mind a little bit and -- and sent you mixed signals, and that was not my intention, okay? I was not and am not playing games.

Amanda: No, I know. And you're going through a very painful breakup. I'm sure you don't want to jump into anything new any more than I do.

Billy: So, we're good?

Amanda: Yes. We're good. But I do really have to go. So, um... we'll be in touch.

Billy: Okay.

Victoria: Billy got into a bar fight? Are you kidding me? No. No. Of course you're not kidding me. No. This is exactly where I saw him headed for.

Nikki: I'm so sorry to have to be the one to tell you.

Victoria: Is he hurt?

Nikki: I don't think so.

Victoria: Is he in jail?

Nikki: Not anymore.

Victoria: I know. He would much rather spend the night in the county lockup than come to me for help. Let me guess. He -- he had jack come bail him out.

Nikki: I've been told his lawyer took care of that.

Victoria: Amanda? Good. Great. Then she can see where her brilliant advice has gotten billy.

Nikki: I'm sorry. I know how painful it must be to see the man you love self-destruct.

Victoria: So... who told you about the arrest? Did -- did paul call you, or was it rey?

Nikki: Your father told me.

Victoria: How did he find out?

Nikki: He didn't say, but i assume he's been hving billy followed.

Victoria: How long has this been going on?

Nikki: I don't know. Long enough for him to be aware of billy's meetings with amanda. There are pictures, aren't there?

Nikki: He did give me one to show you. He didn't realize that you knew already.

Victoria: Let me see it.

Nikki: Honey, do you really want to put yourself through that?

Victoria: Mom, please. Let me see it. I want to know everything. Otherwise, I'm not gonna have any closure.

Nikki: [ Sighs ]

Victoria: So, where did billy spend the night after he made bail?

Nikki: He took a suite at the grand phoenix.

Victoria: That's funny. That's the same place amanda is staying, right? That's convenient.

Kyle: Hey, hey. Come here. Sit down. I didn't mean to push you away. It's just... th-this deal is so important.

Lola: Hey, honeymoon had to end sometime, right?

Kyle: That's not funny.

Lola: It's fine, really. I mean...you're busy. So am I. You just have to keep in mind that getting shot down is new for me. See, I've only ever been with you, and -- pfft! -- You've always been so willing.

Kyle: Oh. You're, uh -- you're saying I've spoiled you?

Lola: Oh, mm-hmm. You totally have. I mean, if my expectations are unrealistic, kyle, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Kyle: [ Chuckles ]

Lola: I've had a perfect streak. You've never once turned me down.

Kyle: Uh-huh.

Lola: Except for the first

Lola: Except for the first time... when I offered and you wouldn'T. That was different. That was only because you were still with summer and... you didn't want to, and you said... you know what? Never mind. I'm sorry. I should've have brought her up. You're obviously under a lot of pressure at work.

Kyle: Right. Right.

[ Sighs ] You know, I'm tired. All of these hours are catching up with me. I'm gonna go lay down.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] You need anything?

Lola: It's okay. Keep working.

Kyle: [ Sighs ]

Theo: Oh. Treating me to a late lunch to apologize? I accept.

Summer: What were you trying to imply at jabot? Because if you're spreading rumors about kyle and me, you will be out the door so fast.

Theo: Okay. Chill with the threats. Your dirty little secret is safe for now.

Summer: I don't have a secret, dirty or otherwise.

Theo: I overheard you and kyle talking about your night together in san francisco and how lola can never find out.

Summer: Well, you completely misinterpreted what you heard.

Theo: Doubt it.

Summer: I did not have sex with kyle.

Theo: Well, I know something happened.

Summer: You are wrong, okay? It was completely innocent.

Theo: What was?

Summer: None of your business.

Theo: Oh, it's too late for that now.

Summer: [ Sighs ] Kyle and I had a talk. Happy?

Theo: Talk, huh? Now, what's a euphemism for? Alone in his hotel room late at night -- hmm.

Summer: You are so off base, it's not even funny.

Theo: Then clarify things for me.

Summer: Fine. Kyle and I had an intense conversation about who we are as people and what we want out of life, as friends do.

Theo: Friends?

Summer: Yes, friends.

Theo: Then why all the sneaking around?

Summer: Because kyle doesn't think that lola would really appreciate hearing that things got so personal between the two of us, because, in case you haven't noticed, he and lola aren't doing so great lately.

Theo: No, I heard the panic in kyle's voice. I know there's got to be something more to this than just some fireside chat.

Summer: Okay, fine. There was a kiss, but that is it, and you can barely even call it that because I initiated it and kyle stopped it right away.

Theo: He's playing both of you. He's got a wife at home and one at the office.

Summer: Kyle doesn't enjoy this. He's not playing me or lola. He's just confused.

Theo: About what? I thought you said he shut you down.

Summer: Theo, the point is it would be a really bad idea for you to go and tell lola about this. Trust me. She would not be grateful. She would not look at you as her hero because she would be furious for you trying to wreck her marriage. And let's not forget to mention kyle, because he would lose it, and if you want your pretty little face to stay pretty, then I suggest that you keep your mouth shut about this.

Theo: Losing your touch, babe.

Summer: Excuse me?

Theo: You used to have more finesse than this. You want kyle. I know it. You know it. And you want nothing better than for me to blow this whole thing wide open. Hmm?

Victoria: Just friends -- that's what he claimed that he and amanda were over and over again.

Nikki: Honey, you told me yourself that whatever was going on between the two of them... wasn't the source of billy's issues. He was looking for somebody to bolster his self-esteem, to validate his poor choices. If it hadn't been amanda, it would have been somebody else.

Victoria: Well, that sounds right in theory, but it's hard for me to believe that this woman is just an innocent bystander. Think about it. She came to town involved in a scam that cheated devon out of billions of dollars, later claiming that she had absolutely no idea about it. So maybe she is that naive and she encouraged billy to follow his worst impulses because she didn't know any better, or maybe... she knows exactly what she's doing.

Nikki: Okay. You know what? Either way, this is billy's problem. You need to look after your life. Take care of yourself, your family, this company.

Victoria: Well, that's exactly what I intend to do, mom. But I think you should follow your own advice, and I think you should go on that trip. You don't have to worry about me.

Nikki: You promise to call me every day and let me know how you're doing?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Yes. I'll be fine. Honest.

Nikki: Well...

Victoria: Come here.

Nikki: ...Alright. I love you so much.

Victoria: I love you, too.

Nikki: Take care.

Billy: Is this a good time?

Jack: For you, it's always a good time. What's going -- what the hell happened to you?

Billy: Oh, my bruises? Yeah. Um, let's just call them "growing pains."

Jack: I knew I should worry about you. I have barely seen you since christmas. I knew back then something was going on.

Billy: Well, your intuition is correct, in a way.

Jack: Whatever that means.

Billy: Look, jack, I'm here to fill you in and also ask you to keep an open mind.

Billy: The last few days, I had an epiphany, and I've made some, uh, pretty big life decisions.

Jack: Oh, boy. I already don't like the sound of this.

Billy: Open mind, big brother. Come on.

Jack: Is this a continuation of the thought process that had you quitting jabot?

Billy: Well, yeah. Yeah. That got the ball rolling. Look, I left here because i realized that the only reason why I was here was to fulfill dad's legacy, not because working at a cosmetic company was what I felt like I should be doing with my life.

Jack: Please tell me you're not taking up a life in boxing.

Billy: No. But... I did realize that I need to apply the same standard to the rest of my decisions. I can't do things to impress someone else or to fulfill some impossible ideal. I need to express my authentic self, jack.

Jack: I know the unexamined life is not worth living. This just sounds exhausting.

Billy: No. It's actually very exhilarating. I mean, I have more freedom and more possibility in me than i have in a very long time, and i feel much more energetic -- maybe a little bit too much, but I'm still trying to figure that out.

Jack: Okay. I'm glad to hear that. I assume victoria's behind you.

Billy: She's, uh -- she's not, jack, and this is where it gets a little bit tough. She just has a different idea of what our lives are supposed to look like, and she's not interested in altering the plan.

Jack: Okay. So, what are you guys gonna do about that? I-I assume you'll just seek counseling.

Billy: No. Uh, I think we're past that point. I think our different values -- what she wants out of life and what I want on life -- are fundamentally different. So I...moved out.

Jack: You what?!

Summer: You will not -- and I repeat, not -- go to lola with this.

Theo: You're right. I won't have to.

Summer: Wait. What do you mean by that?

Theo: Why get involved when i can just sit back and wait it out? Either you'll bust out with the secret or --

Summer: Oh, well, don't hold your breath.

Theo: Okay, fine. Then it'll be kyle. You've been walking a tightrope, and it's making him crazy. We've seen it. No way lola hasn't noticed. He can only keep this pretense for so long, and then, eventually, he will slip up and come crashing back down to earth. And it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

Summer: Wow. You know, I never noticed how truly malicious you are.

Theo: I don't know why you're complaining. You're the one that followed me here to make sure that I would sit on the sidelines, and I will.

Summer: Yeah, only to come swooping down like a vulture to comfort lola when she's a wreck.

Theo: Huh. Where do you get off criticizing me when you're the one who set this whole thing in motion?

Summer: You're disgusting.

Theo: Eh, I've been called worse. And, also, reality check -- you're the one that's been gunning for kyle and lola since the day of their wedding.

Summer: That's a lie.

Theo: No, that's the truth. And kyle is obviously just fine with it. You know, I'm the only one in this whole mess that cares about what happens to lola. She's the one who stands to get hurt the most from all of this.

Summer: Hmm. Yeah, so I was right when i called you out the other day. This isn't just a game to you. This isn't just about getting one up on kyle. No. Somewhere along the way, you formed actual feelings for kyle's wife.

Theo: Believe what you want. You will anyway.

Kyle: Feeling better?

Lola: Um, I'm going back to work. I'll see you later. You wanted to talk... the other day... when you got back from the west coast about us. What were you going to say?

Kyle: It wasn't important.

Lola: That day, you made fixing things sound like the most important thing in the world -- top priority. I was going to leave the restaurant in the middle of dinner rush just so we could come back home and talk uninterrupted. We've been trying to sweep all this distance that we've been feeling under the rug. But there's no escaping it, kyle. You have been so different since you got back.

Kyle: What? Different how?

Lola: Like something's weighing on you. Kyle... I need you to tell me what happened on that trip with you and summer, because it's so obvious that something happened.

Kyle: Sweetheart... there's nothing for you to worry about.

Lola: That's not the same as "nothing happened." Whatever it is... it can't be as bad as what I'm imagining right now, right? Or maybe it is and that's why you're afraid to tell me.

Kyle: I-I did not sleep with summer, if that's what you're thinking.

Lola: You feel guilty about something, and I can feel it.

Kyle: There was a kiss. J-just a kiss. That's all.

Amanda: [ Sighs ]

Victoria: Thank you so much for meeting me.

Amanda: This may come as a surprise, but I am glad to hear from you.

Victoria: Oh?

Amanda: Yes. I've been wishing for some time now that we can sit down and talk.

Victoria: Well, unfortunately, I can't say the same since billy just confessed a few days a-ago that you've been having these secret rendezvous.

Amanda: I'm sure that's not how he phrased it. That's not at all what it was.

Victoria: Well, then please enlighten me as to what it was. How did you meet him?

Amanda: Purely by chance.

Victoria: Right. I know. The empty glass lounge. That's quite a classy establishment.

Amanda: We just happened to be there at the same time.

Victoria: When was this?

Amanda: I don't have an exact date, but I know that it was the night of the big power outage.

Victoria: So, this has been going on since early december.

Amanda: I didn't realize that it had been that long.

Victoria: I recall that night quite clearly. I was trapped in my office because of the blackout. Obviously, billy was having a better time than I was.

Amanda: We just started chatting to pass the time until the lights came back on. That's all that happened.

Victoria: So, after this blackout, were there any other twists of fate that brought the two of you together?

Amanda: Hardly. Victoria, we were just normal friends, okay? We would meet up for a coffee or a drink and we would just catch up on each other's lives. That's it.

Victoria: And it progressed from there?

Amanda: I'm not sure what you mean by "progressed."

Victoria: You started out with chitchat over adult beverages, and now you've got billy convinced that he should embrace his addiction and his weaknesses. I would say that's quite a journey.

Amanda: I'm sorry. Did you say, "addiction"?

Jack: You're walking away from your family. It was just last summer we were all society, cheering you on as you said your vows of undying love.

Billy: Well, I'm always gonna love victoria and my children, but what I'm not gonna do is pretend to be someone who I'm not or apologize for who I am.

Jack: Be honest with me. Are you gambling again?

Billy: No.

Jack: Good.

Billy: Not in any serious way.

Jack: Wait. Not in any s-- okay, I've heard enough. We are going to a meeting -- you and I.

Billy: Jack, we're not gonna do that.

Jack: Excuse me?

Billy: I didn't come here to be lectured or schooled or shipped off to a 12-step program or... flown over to hong kong. That's not the way our relationship is gonna be anymore.

Jack: Really?

Billy: I'm a man, jack. I get to make my own decisions. You might think looming disaster is headed this way, but I'm not, okay? This is the way it's gonna be, and you can either accept it, or you can cut me off. But the one thing you can't do is change my mind.

Kyle: The kiss meant nothing. Summer and I were talking, and i guess she got caught up in something she was feeling... and she kissed me.

Lola: Did you kissed her back?

Kyle: No. I stopped it right away. Told her I was committed to working things out with you, and -- and summer got it. She didn't argue. Frankly, she was embarrassed. And she took off back to her room. That was the end of it.

Lola: No, it wasn't, kyle. Not really.

Kyle: Why -- why -- why -- why do you say that?

Lola: Because summer and you have been hiding this from me. Remember when you warned me how dangerous it is to keep secrets from your spouse? And that was over nothing. It was over a silly joke with theo.

Kyle: I was wrong not to tell you.

Lola: Yes, you were.

Kyle: I-I-I should have told you as -- as soon as I got back from san francisco, and i intended to, but... arturo called, and, well, it didn't seem like the best time. Then some days passed, and it seemed like it would be easier not to mention it.

Lola: Did summer pressure you to keep this quiet?

Kyle: No, don't -- don't put this on summer. It was my call. I didn't want to make things between you and me any worse. I just -- I wanted things to go back to the way they were.

Lola: This doesn't make any sense. I don't like hearing that summer's still throwing herself all over you, kyle, but this is hardly new behavior. I mean, she's done it before. She did it the night of the grand phoenix, the opening. She kissed you then, too.

Kyle: She was high on molly on account of the spiked drinks -- literally had no idea what she was doing, lola.

Lola: That's not the point, kyle! I stood there and I watched it happen, and it was no big deal. I didn't flip out. It wasn't the end of the world. And you knew that. So if that's all that truly happened on this business trip -- her kissing you and you rejecting her -- you would have told me right away. You wouldn't be avoiding me or feeling this guilty. Kyle, I need you to tell me the truth. What are you holding back? Coffee before your 8 A.M.

Jack: I am genuinely concerned about you.

Billy: Well, that's what i would expect you to say, and I'm assuming everyone's gonna wait for me to fall flat on my face. I'm used to that, jack. That's the story of my life.

Jack: Okay. You're angry at me.

Billy: I'm not angry. I'm disappointed. And I don't -- I don't need your approval, but I would really like it if you tried to understand.

Jack: I am trying, billy. You're talking about walking away from what you say is important to you -- your wife, your job, your children.

Billy: Hold on a second. I will always be there for my children -- okay? -- No matter what.

Jack: Well, that's great. And then what else? I mean... what else do you want?

Billy: To live my life... with no shame... and no secrets.

Jack: And no consequences?

Billy: Well, I mean, we'll see about that, but...

Jack: Oh. So, that's what we're to expect from your new lifestyle -- recklessness, chaos, thrill-seeking?

Billy: No promises... no predictions. It's the only way I can do this -- to be in the moment, to find out who I am, what I'm meant to do, and why I'm even on this earth.

Jack: Well, I hope that works out for you. I'll be here if it doesn't -- or should I say, "when it doesn't?"

Billy: Thank you for your show of faith.

Victoria: I guess your insight into billy's psyche isn't as deep as you believed it was. He never mentioned that he's been dealing with a gambling problem for years? He never once mentioned all of the jobs that he's lost, relationships, the vast sums of money, even a company yacht once in a poker game? I'm actually surprised that he wasn't charged with embezzlement.

Amanda: I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds really sad.

Victoria: You know, it's so ironic that this is coming as news to you, given that you were supposedly the one person that he could bear his soul to.

Amanda: Victoria, you clearly have the wrong impression. I never set out to be billy's therapist or his confessor, just a friend and a good listener.

Victoria: And an even better enabler, as it turns out.

Amanda: And I was unaware --

Victoria: Well, then you should have stayed out of it.

Amanda: In hindsight, I regret that billy and my interaction became so... personal. I've said as much to him.

Victoria: Oh, have you?

Amanda: For the record, I was the one that told him that he should be having these conversations with you.

Victoria: And yet when he got into trouble the other night, where did he turn?

Amanda: If you know about that, then you know that billy contacted me solely to act as his lawyer.

Victoria: Really? Is that all it was? Because, frankly, I have my doubts.

Kyle: Look, I'm glad you know. Seriously. It's -- it's -- it's actually a relief. We can talk more about it later, okay? Meantime, I-I've got to get to the office, and, uh, you need to be at the restaurant, so...

[ Sighs ]

Lola: If you don't want to deal with this now... I can always go to summer... get the answers I need from her. I mean, I'm sure she'd be more than happy to give me a detailed play-by-play on how she came on to you in your hotel room.

Kyle: Please, just don't do that.

Lola: Why not? What are you afraid she's going to tell me?

Kyle: Nothing. I've told you everything. I just think it's best for all of us to leave that incident in the past.

Lola: Agreed. That would be the best, but, for some reason, you haven't been able to do that, and, obviously, summer feels it, too, and that's why she decided to make a move on you now.

Kyle: That was a mistake, and she feels terrible about it.

Lola: Hmm. I'm not buying that. And I'm not sure you do, either.

Kyle: Lola, come on.

Lola: Kyle... summer has been pulling this crap, and you are doing absolutely nothing to stop her. I mean, you haven't fired her. You haven't reassigned her to another floor. You haven't sent her to your london offices. You know... maybe you just like that she's hitting on you. Maybe it's good for your ego.

Kyle: Oh, stop it!

Lola: Stop what -- trying to find the truth?!

Kyle: Okay. You know who you sound like right now? Theo. If anyone's trying to hang around and take advantage of our problems, it's him.

Lola: Do not change the subject.

Kyle: Ooh, okay. You keep telling me to be honest. What about you? Why can't you admit he's in your head as much as summer's in mine? I-I didn't mean to say that. I'm s-- lola, I'm sorry. Lola, I'm sorry. Don't lea-- mm.

[ Sighs ]

Amanda: Given that billy had been arrested, I think that it's only logical that he would reach out to a lawyer. You surely didn't expect that he would contact you since you just ended your relationship.

Victoria: My goodness. You certainly are up to date on billy's and my personal and private life. He must have confided in you. Was this another one of those deep conversations that you regret so much?

Amanda: Actually, I didn't find out until he called me for legal help. I was curious why he got into a bar fight.

Victoria: Oh. Well, I hope you're not implying that I drove him to reckless behavior.

Amanda: No, of course not. Billy is responsible for his actions.

Victoria: So, you demanded that he explain the circumstances of that brawl in order for you to take him on as a client and you were fine with him celebrating his breakup in a fight?

Amanda: Actually, I didn't get those details until after i bailed him out.

Victoria: Oh, I see. So, you spent time together after your legal work had concluded.

Amanda: Yes. I wanted to make sure that he was okay because we are friends.

Victoria: Wow. Then if that's what you really are, then this particular revelation about our breakup must have given you hope. Maybe you were just biding your time waiting for billy to be free so you could scoop him up for yourself.

Amanda: I have no romantic interest in billy. I'm actually hoping that you two can work things out.

Victoria: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, right.

Amanda: Victoria, I am serious. You guys have kids together. I would never root for a family to break up.

Victoria: He talked to you about our children?

Amanda: Only to say that he loves them very much.

Victoria: He has a really funny way of showing it, doesn't he?

Amanda: Billy also told me that... you two have broken up in the past and reconciled. Maybe you can do that again.

Victoria: No. Billy has made his choice. The damage is done. It's permanent. I'm not gonna waste one more minute of my life trying to save him from himself, so... if you've been waiting for an opening, then this is it. I just hope, for your sake, that you're smart enough to stay away from him.

Theo: Oh, hey, there. I'd just about given up hope of seeing you today.

Lola: Here I am.

Theo: How's it going? You okay?

Lola: Do you know what happened in san francisco?

Theo: Yeah, sure. Summer and kyle finalized the acquisition of another cosmetics company. It should be huge for jabot.

Lola: Wow. I never realized what a terrible liar you are.

Theo: Lola.

Lola: It's okay. You know what? It's best we don't even discuss it.

Summer: You're here. Hey, I thought you might be working from home.

Kyle: I was.

[ Sighs ] I-I've been going over the proposed contract.

Summer: Oh. Um... well, are there any surprises?

Kyle: Mm. I'm concerned there could be. Some of the language in certain provisions is overly broad. I could see it causing conflicts down the road. This deal is so important. We need to be careful.

Summer: Well, you know, there's such a thing as being too careful... if it means missing out on the deal of a lifetime.

Kyle: [ Chuckles softly ] Good point.

Summer: We know everything we need to know about this

[Voice breaking] Deal. It's time to move forward. It's the only choice.
