Abby: Allowing them to do what?

Connor: Is the bad guy in jail?

Chelsea: He sure is.

Connor: Oh, for how long?

Nick: I know you think connor needs adam right now, but I'm concerned with how much time he's spending with him alone. Adam will always be adam.

Chelsea: Adam will always be connor's father.

Devon: So, what did jill say?

Cane: She said that she's tracked him down in the maldives, and she's waiting to catch a puddle-jumper to this secluded island where he is hiding out.

Chance: What are you doing?

Chance: Booking the next flight out.

Nick: Hey, man. How's it going?

Devon: Nick! Hey. Have a seat.

Nick: Thanks.

Devon: I should be asking you. How are, uh -- how are things going with chelsea and connor?

Nick: Oh, thanks for asking. They're fine. They're recovering.

Devon: That's good. I heard you dropped out of the race for city council.

Nick: Yeah. It was unavoidable, but the upside is I get to focus all my time and energy on new hope.

Devon: I'm happy to continue working on that with you, but i thought you could really do some good things for the city. I'm sorry I don't get to vote for you.

Nick: Yeah. Me, too.

Devon: It's gc's loss, man, not having you on the city council.

Nick: Well, I don't think i was a shoe-in.

Devon: I heard the odds were pretty good for you.

Nick: I'd heard I'd done a good job reaching the voters, but, in all honesty, do the people of genoa city really want some rich guy representing their interests?

Devon: You mean an ex-rich guy?

Nick: Ooh! Join the club. It's exclusive. I heard you gave away your inheritance.

Devon: Yeah. I, uh... I mean, I thought it was the right thing to do.

Nick: You're not so sure now?

Devon: Well, it turns out i may have gotten scammed.

Jill: Oh, my god! Why do I keep being taken in by you? Oh, lord, I regret it every single time.

Colin: You love my roguish charm.

Jill: [ Sighs ] Maybe it's true. Maybe I am attracted to the bad boy in you, but only up to a point.

Colin: But, come on, hasn't my good stuff outweighed my bad stuff?

Jill: That's debatable, darling.

Colin: I mean in relation to what I did for cane.

Jill: Well, I'm not sure that I approve of your methods, but you did right a wrong.

Colin: Okay. So you don't mind me being bad, just not too bad. The problem is, how bad am i allowed to be before I get too bad? I don't know. What are the parameters here? Let's discuss it over some fresh bubbly.

Jill: [ Laughs ]

Chance: Technically, I'm out of my jurisdiction, but, for you, I made an exception.

Adam: Connor will be down in, uh... you have been busy.

Chelsea: I should have asked before I put things away, I just...

Adam: You were just being a neat freak, which you've always been. I remember.

Chelsea: I kind of put things back to where they were when i used to live here. I hope that's okay.

Adam: Uh, yeah, because that's still where they all go. Mm-hmm. You know, when I moved back in, I, um -- I thought it would be wrong to put the silverware in a different drawer on the towels on a different shelf. You know, old habits, they die hard, I guess. And, uh, it's the three of us staying here. It does feel a little like we've gone back in time.

Chelsea: Yeah, I mean, not for me. I -- I was just keeping busy.

Adam: Yeah. I get it. Sometimes little mundane tasks can help keep your mind off other things.

Chelsea: Yeah. Unfortunately, it's not working.

Adam: Mm.

Chelsea: I just keeping about what happened with simon black over and over and over.

Adam: Well, it's gonna take some time. You know, for all of us.

Chelsea: Um... so, how's connor?

Adam: Um, it was hard to get a read on him this morning.

Chelsea: He's still worried about simon?

Adam: Well, I did tell him that he's locked up and he can't hurt us anymore.

Chelsea: Maybe it's too soon to bring him back to school.

Adam: Chelsea. The longer that we wait, the harder it's gonna be.

Chelsea: I know. I know. I'm just so worried about him.

Adam: Well, so am I. But I'm just glad that we are doing this together. I mean, for connor's sake.

Chelsea: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, we owe it to our son to help him get through this.

Adam: Mm-hmm. And last night -- that was a really good start.

Chelsea: Yeah, I mean, it's great that he felt safe and protected, but eating junk food and playing board games and the three of us being together...

Chelsea: It might not be enough.

Abby: That sneaking, lying, conniving word that I don't want to use.

Chloe: Bitch?

Abby: That.

Chloe: And that's just some of her good qualities.

Abby: The thought that phyllis is using our security system as her own personal playground, I could slap her. I really could.

Chloe: Okay, well, look on the bright side. At least if you're looking for a lying, conniving, double-crossing hacker, you know who to call.

Abby: [ Sighs ]

[ Squealing, screaming ]

Roz: Oh, my god, we're here!

Sherry: This is it!

Chloe: Cosplay. It's when people dress up as their favorite characters from a tv show, fantasy book series, or historical moment -- not that I've ever done that with kevin, or anyone.

Roz: The theme for this one is "royalty throughout history."

Sherry: I'm going as anne boleyn. Hopefully I'll keep my head.

Roz: You kill me, sherry!

Chloe: And what are you going as?

Roz: Well, I wanted to go as marie antoinette, but someone already claimed that. So I'm gonna show them. I'm going as cleopatra, and I'm gonna have the best damn asp there.

[ Laughter ]

Sherry: Roz, you are so bad!

Roz: I know!

Abby: Well, let's get you ladies checked in.

Chloe: Yeah! Come on.

Roz: We're gonna need some help with our luggage.

Abby: Yes. Yes. It looks like you have quite a few bags.

Adam: Did you sleep okay?

Chelsea: Well, I spent most of the night checking in on connor.

Adam: Well, I'm sure he's relaxed knowing that you were here.

Chelsea: I hope so.

Adam: Have you, uh, spoken to nick this morning, huh?

Chelsea: We texted.

Adam: Sure he's not too happy you spent another night in my guest room.

Chelsea: He understands that connor needs me.

Adam: Still, I mean, all this time apart, it can't be easy for him.

Chelsea: Nick and I are fine.

Adam: Good. I can give you some privacy if you want to call him.

Chelsea: That's all right. We need to get connor to school.

Adam: Okay. He should be down soon.

Chelsea: You know, and I want to talk to his principal after we drop him off. I want to ask her how his teacher plans to handle him coming back to school, you know?

Adam: I was going to suggest the same thing. I'm sure the kids at school have heard about what happened, and if they bring it up, I don't want to him to feel uncomfortable.

Chelsea: Yeah. Exactly. I want to put a plan in place so we make sure that doesn't happen.

Adam: Well, we can talk to mrs. Kegley about all our concerns.&

Chelsea: All our concerns. We're talking about our concerns when he's the one who's suffering.

Adam: Chelsea.

Chelsea: [ Exhales sharply ]

Adam: Chelsea. We got to stay strong for connor.

Chelsea: I know. I'm trying.

Adam: Okay.

Chelsea: I just feel really guilty.

Adam: That's not gonna help anybody. Okay? We can do this. You ready?

Chelsea: Ready.-Adam: Connor? It's time to go! Connor!

Jill: Chance, sweetie, this is a huge misunderstanding.

Chance: Seems clear to me.

Jill: [ Scoffs ] Well, why are you even here? I called cane and I told him i had everything under control.

Chance: Is that what you call this?

Jill: This is none of your business, son.

Chance: Fair enough. But atkinson's other extracurriculars, they definitely are.

Jill: Well, I really wish that you had called before you hopped on a plane because you've made a very long trip for nothing.

Chance: Really?

Jill: All right, so colin pretended to be you, but he did it for a very good reason.

Chance: Are you gonna let her do all the talking for you?

Jill: What do you want him to say?

Chance: So that's a yes.

Jill: Look, he may have broken a few rules...

Chance: And the law.

Jill: The important thing is that he righted a wrong.

Chance: So let me see if i have this dubious path to justice right. After katherine died and before her will was read, devon's biological father tucker got his hands on her will. He then approached katherine's attorney, david sherman, and the two of them made a couple of... minor adjustments, and -- boom! The billions that should have gone to cane went to devon instead.

Colin: Great. We're all caught up.

Chance: Yeah. There's just one problem with that. It's all bull.

Colin: W-what?

Chance: There's no way that david sherman and tucker mccall made those changes before the will was read, and you know it.

Colin: You, uh -- you seem awfully certain of yourself.

Chance: Because I'm right. Cane doesn't deserve a penny of katherine chancellor's money.

Cane: What?

Nick: So chance didn't know anything about katherine's will being forged.

Devon: No, he was undercover on some big case for months.

Nick: The money laundering scheme that led to simon black's arrest.

Devon: Yeah, it was a huge assignment that apparently was the reason he couldn't contact me to let me know he had nothing to do with amanda sinclair or cane getting knocked out in vegas.

Nick: You think cane was behind this?

Devon: Well, he swears he's not, but jill thinks now that it might be colin, and she tracked him down to the maldives, and now chance has gone to have a little chat with him.

Nick: [ Sighs ] I wouldn't want to be him.

Devon: Well, yeah, he almost took cane's head off when he thought that he was running the scam, so I can only imagine what he'll do to colin if it ends up being him.

Cane: Now you're just stuck here waiting for answers.

Devon: And I wanted to go to the maldives myself, but elena doesn't think that's such a great idea.

Nick: I agree with her. Just let chance handle this.

Devon: I'm trying not to let any of it get to me, really, mostly for elena's sake because it just seems like all she's been doing lately is helping me through one dark patch after another, and she deserves better.

Nick: Well, so do you, man.

Roz: Ooh! We have a penthouse suite! I feel like a queen already!

Abby: We just want to make sure you enjoy your stay at the grand phoenix.

Sherry: Just being here is a thrill!

Roz: Let's go lock up our tiaras and then go hit that fancy club abby told us about!

Abby: Let me get you some help with your bags.

Sherry: I got this one.

Roz: [ Squeals ]

Sherry: Penthouse

Roz: Oh, man, what are you gonna wear tonight?

Sherry: Oh, I'm gonna wear that little black number I got when we were in indianapolis.

Roz: Does your husband even know you brought that here?

Sherry: No, and you better not tell him!

Roz: Why would I tell him that?

Abby: Well, we got to keep the customers happy.

Chloe: Well, I can't argue with that. We can't afford to lose any more bookings.

Abby: Well, we need more guests like roz and sherry, people who pick our hotel because it's a magnet for crime.

Chloe: Yeah, you know, i don't really think that's gonna be a selling point.

Abby: Well, at least people don't know that our head of security installed software that allows her to spy on everyone in the hotel.

Chloe: Well, allegedly. You don't have any proof, right?

Abby: Not yet, but that's why I'm so upset that chance left town. I could really use his expertise.

Chloe: Oh! His expertise, huh?

Abby: Yes. I am only interested in chance for his professional advice.

Chloe: Okay, so this conversation isn't about phyllis anymore?

Abby: I -- I don't even want to talk about her. I just want to expose her for the liar that she is.

Chloe: Okay, so we're back to talking about chance.

Abby: No! Yes. I don't --

Chloe: Okay, well, can you please just make up your mind?

Abby: [ Sighs ]

Chloe: Or at least admit why you keep on bringing him up.

Cane: Does someone want to tell me what the hell is going on here?

Chance: It seems that fraud runs in your family.

Colin: Don't listen to him. He's -- he's pissed because... I impersonated him.

Chance: You suck at reading faces, atkinson 'cause this isn't my "pissed off" face. This is my "you're screwed" face.

Jill: Sweetie. Sweetie, come on, we can straighten this out. Now, colin was just trying to honor katherine's wishes.

Chance: Don't defend him, grandma. I might get the wrong idea.

Cane: All right, listen before we start throwing accusations around...

Jill: What?

Cane: Please, just hang on a sec. Can we please just let the people involved in this sort this out?

Chance: Of course. Let the criminals solve the crime. Why didn't I think of that?

Cane: I don't know how the new pages of katherine's will were uncovered, okay? But I do know that the ones we found, we had authenticated by an expert.

Jill: Yes.

Chance: Experts can be bought.

Cane: Whoa, hang on a second. Are you saying that jill and i paid someone to lie?

Chance: Because you would never do that.

Colin: Well, jill wouldn'T.

Chance: If she's involved with you two...

Cane: Hang on a second. This is your grandmother we're talking about, and you need to show her some respect.

Jill: Stop -- stop it! This isn't helping! Now, if we're gonna solve this, we have to stay calm, we have to stay rational.

Cane: Agreed. Thank you very much. So, dad, you and me outside, now.

Chance: No way. Not happening.

Cane: I will know if he's lying, trust me.

Chance: I already know the truth. And so does your old man. You've got 10 seconds to be rational, and then colin goes out the window.

Chelsea: Thanks.

Adam: [ Exhales sharply ] Are you okay?

Chelsea: I thought the principal was gonna share with us her plan to help connor transition back into school.

Chelsea: Yes, and I was not expecting her to ask us to withdraw him and suggest we homeschool him for a while.

Chelsea: So what are we gonna do, hire a private tutors, teach him ourselves?

Adam: Well, if we take him out of school for a year, like mrs. Kegley suggested, he's still not even gonna be with his friends when he goes back to school.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] I just can't believe he's missed that much school that he would fall that far behind.

Adam: Well, he can catch up on that, no problem.

Chelsea: I think she's worried about the problems the hostage situation will cause for the school.

Adam: Well, it's bound to be a topic of major conversation with the students. And, unfortunately, connor is gonna be in the middle of all that speculation.

Chelsea: I mean, does she have his best interest in mind, or theirs?

Adam: Uh, it's hard to say.

Chelsea: I --

Adam: Maybe both.

Chelsea: I mean, kids, they talk. They talk about one thing, and then they move on to the next. I don't think we should make a drastic move because this could all just blow over in a couple of weeks.

Adam: [ Sighs ] I don't know, it's a tough call.

Chelsea: If we take him out of school, adam, he's gonna feel alone and isolated.

Adam: Is that worse than him feeling like he can't escape what happened?

Sharon: Hi! Today was connor's first day back at school, wasn't it?

Adam: We -- we just dropped him off.

Sharon: How'd it go?

Abby: I am only talking about chance because he helped me figure out what phyllis was doing with the security software.

Chloe: He is a smart guy.

Abby: He really knows his way around computers.

Chloe: And he's super hot.

Abby: Totally. You know, look, that -- that is not why I'm interested in him.

Chloe: A-ha, so you are interested in him.

Abby: [ Sighs ] I'M... I'm curious. Look, you -- you two, you have some history, right? You must be able to give me some insight about the man.

Chloe: Uh, yeah, we were... engaged for a minute.

Abby: Okay, so you must be able to tell me something.

Chloe: Yeah, he's, uh... he's honest, trustworthy, straightforward... in other words, way out of my league.

Abby: No, I don't believe that.

Chloe: On a decent human being scale, from 1 to 10, chance is...an 11, and I am like...a solid 6. I mean, so is kevin. That's why we're perfect for each other.

Abby: Well, I'm happy that you found each other. But I have to wonder if your take on chance is accurate.

Chloe: Oh! You think that there is, like, a bad boy lurking around in there?

Abby: I think there could be.

Chloe: Okay. Well, I guess there's only one way to find out, but I think you're gonna be disappointed. Chance can't help it. He will always be one of the white hats.

Chance: It was cane's idea.

Colin: That's right.

Cane: [ Scoffs ]

Jill: Colin, please stop this.

Colin: [ Sighs ] Think about it. Who had the most to gain?

Jill: Well, he's right about that.

Colin: I mean, I've already confessed my part in this. But I wasn't the mastermind. It was cane.

Cane: Okay, all right, this is classic colin, all right? You know that. He gets backed into a corner, so he lies to get out of it.

Colin: Come on, son. Look, the jig's up. Double-oh-and-a-quarter here has figured it out. He would have figured it out anyway!

Cane: [ Sighs ]

Chance: Nobody's buying this, atkinson.

Colin: You speak for yourself.

Chance: Grandma.

Colin: Look, does it really matter who did what to who? Devon voluntarily gave up his fortune. Nobody forced his hand. We were talking about pieces of paper and what's relevant and what isn'T. The story's over. Happy ending.

Chance: You arrogant, lying piece of --

Jill: Enough, enough, enough! We all know that colin's involved in this. What I want to know is -- is what he's saying true?

Cane: Of course it's not true! He's just saying this to save his own butt!

Colin: Hey. We're all forgetting chance hired a specific lawyer to represent him. That was amanda sinclair, a dead ringer for hilary curtis. Now, I'm an entrepreneur, but i never would have thought of a detail like that. Kind of extreme. However, cane had reasons for hiring ms. Sinclair.

Jill: Oh, cane. Have you been plotting this whole time to punish devon? At jcpenney, it's black friday forever!

Roz: I can't believe we're here!

[ Giggling ]

Sherry: [ Gasps ]

Roz: That's devon hamilton.

Nick: Man, I'm really sorry you're going through this man.

Roz: Oh, my god!

Devon: You know, there's -- there's worse things I could be going through than losing some money.

Nick: Yeah, but this is more than just the money.

Devon: It is, yeah. I -- I hate not knowing what katherine's real wishes were.

Nick: Well, I hope chance finds them for ya. You deserve that.

Devon: Even if he doesn't, I still have a lot to be grateful for. I have my, uh -- my company, hamilton-winters, and all my investments, still.

Nick: You got a great woman.

Devon: That I do. I have the best woman. With all that, it's silly to worry about losing more money than I could spend in five lifetimes, you know?

Nick: All right, but if you're okay with losing the money, and chance is working hard to get you the answers about katherine's will, what's bugging you?

Devon: Uh... I mean, I'd like to think that I'm a decent guy who does the right thing because it's the right thing.

Nick: You're one of the best men I know, devon.

Devon: Well, I appreciate that, nick, I do, but, you know, 6 years ago, a simple document changed my whole life, and then, recently, another one shows up with the power to change it again, and I spent a lot of hours trying to figure out what to do. And then I make what I think is the right decision only to find out that I was given false information and that I may have been tricked into giving away what my grandmother really wanted me to inherit. So... what does that say about me?

Nick: It says you're the kind of man that sees the best in people. Devon, you did your due diligence. Those pages that cane found in vegas were authenticated by an expert.

Devon: Right.

Nick: If somebody lied to you, it's not your fault.

Devon: Then why do I feel like an idiot?

Nick: You're a smart, honest man, and nothing that anybody else did changes that.

Devon: I guess you're right. Thanks.

Sharon: I know mrs. Kegley. She would never suggest taking connor out of school unless she thought that that was in his best interest.

Chelsea: That doesn't make our decision any easier.

Sharon: Well, no, of course not. I-I'm sure this is very difficult for both of you.

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Chelsea: Yeah, I mean, growing up, when I was running cons with my mother, education wasn't exactly a top priority, so... I want something different for connor. I mean... I even had dreams of him growing up to go an ivy league school, like his dad.

Adam: He can. He can, if that's what he wants to do because connor is smart.

Chelsea: If we have to pull him out of school and he has to repeat a grade, he will lose confidence in his abilities.

Adam: We won't let that happen.

Sharon: I think you should prioritize his emotional well-being right now. He can always catch up on his schoolwork later on when he's feeling better.

Chelsea: Above all else, all I've ever wanted for connor was to stability. I wanted him to have the stability I craved as a child, not to always feel like he's the new kid. I want him to have friends. I don't want him to be the kid that all the other kids are whispering about. And now he's gonna have to deal with that on top of everything else, and... I mean, none of this is his fault.

Sharon: Well, there's no sense in assigning any blame, chelsea.

Adam: Look, sharon's right. We need to figure out what we're gonna do for our son.

Sharon: Well, you're already doing it. You're working together. That's the most important thing.

Adam: Chelsea and I have decided to put our differences aside for connor's sake.

Sharon: That's good. That's actually really great. You know, nick and I, we have always been united when tackling our kids' problems.

Chelsea: You make it sound so simple.

Sharon: Well, it's not. Not at all. I mean, there have been a lot of rough days I've had with my kids. And there were times when i thought for sure I would let them down, but, you know what, things always got better. And they will for you and connor, too.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Sharon: Um --

Chelsea: It's nick. Um, I told him I'd keep him updated. Excuse me.

Sharon: Okay.

Adam: Mm-hmm.

Chelsea: [ Panting ]

Cane: Jill, you know that i would never use katherine's memory to hurt anyone, let alone devon. I mean, do you think after everything he's been through that I would do that to him?

Jill: Well, I wouldn't think so.

Cane: Good, because I am the victim in all of this. It's me, I'm the victim!

Colin: That's a good one, son.

Chelsea: Oh, shut up, dad! Listen. I didn't want katherine's will to be overturned, all right? I'm the one who went to vegas to try and prove that devon had been scammed!

Sharon: You know, I am finished with all of my class work, and the closer I get to my degree, the more confident I feel.

Sharon: I, um, would like to continue working with connor. If that's what he wants, and if that's okay with you and chelsea.

Adam: We couldn't do it without you.

Nick: Well, for now, I'm just gonna focus my time and energy into new hope and also helping chelsea get through this.

Sharon: I just saw her and adam.

Nick: Yeah, they were meeting with connor's principal this morning.

Sharon: Yes. They told me.

Nick: She didn't give me any details. She sounded a little down about it, though.

Sharon: They have a long road ahead of them, but I think, together, you know, they can work things out.

Nick: They're not usually on the same page.

Sharon: They are committed to putting their problems aside and doing what's best for their child. Like we always did.

Nick: You think they can do that?

Sharon: Yeah. I do.

[ Cellphone rings ] Um, I have to take this.

Chelsea: Our focus should be helping connor.

Adam: You're not gonna be able to do him any good if you keeping heaping guilt on yourself.
