Episode #11682 ~ Kyle and Lola's wedding takes an unexpected turn, Phyllis consoles Summer, and Billy suffers a meltdown.

Kyle: She's underage. And she got loaded at our party.

Theo: What the hell do we do now?

Theo: Kyle walks through life pretending like the past never happened. I'm the only one keeping him honest.

Lola: Would you do me the honor of walking me down the aisle? With rey?

Celeste: You have a lot of nerve showing your face here.

Adrian: Did you really think I'd miss our daughter's wedding?

It is my pleasure to introduce to you kyle and lola abbott, ladies and gentlemen.

Kyle: Are we dreaming? Ow!

[ Chuckles ]

Lola: Nope. We did it.

Kyle: Mmm. We're married.

Lola: Does it feel any different?

Kyle: I feel happy.

Lola: Me, too. So happy.

Celeste: Hi. Can I just borrow my son for a second? Thanks. Thank you.

Rey: Quite a ceremony, huh? I'm so happy you came. It meant the world to me and lola.

Celeste: Yeah. Um... it was absolutely beautiful. It was beyond beautiful. Uh, right now we have a bigger issue to deal with.

Rey: What issue?

Celeste: Your father's here.

Rey: What?

Celeste: [ Sighs ]

Rey: You -- you invited him after lola and I specifically told you not --

Celeste: N-no. I swear I didn'T. He showed up here on his own, and he showed up right before the ceremony. I confronted him, but he -- and I-I said, "do the right thing and leave," but he didn'T. He's still here.

Rey: Okay. Where is he? I got this. Here, hold this.

Adrian: There's my boy.

Rey: I haven't been your boy in a very long time.

Adrian: You look good.

Rey: Don't do that. You need to leave.

Adrian: I'm not leaving without seeing my girl.

Rey: The hell you are. That's not happening.

Adrian: What are you gonna do, arrest your old man? On your sister's wedding day?

Abby: Congrats, guys! The hard part is over. Now it is time to celebrate.

Mariah: We are here to get you ready for the reception.

Tessa: Makeup refresh.

Abby: Hair touch-ups.

Kyle: Ooh, how do I look?

Mariah: Nobody cares.

Abby: Mnh-mnh.

Lola: Hey, I care. You look damn handsome.

Kyle: Thank you.

Abby: Oh, careful.

Celeste: Hi, everybody!

[ Laughter ] You look beautiful. Um, do you mind, can I just have a few seconds with lola? Can you just excuse us?

Abby: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Victoria: What a lovely wedding. Congratulations.

Jack: Thank you. I'm a very proud father-of-the-groom tonight.

Victoria: And with lola, you've added another player to team abbott.

Ashley: We sure have. And our team is better, stronger, and more united than ever. I'm sure billy told you that abbott exchange is merging with jabot, right?

Victoria: Oh, yes. He might have mentioned it. But I'm sure that newman cosmetics can hold our own.

Billy: So I guess my vote against the merger has been totally ignored.

Jack: We heard your reservations, but we were united on this.

Billy: Yeah, I've heard that twice now. You guys are united, right? Until you're not. Again.

Traci: [ Stammers ] You know, let's just maybe no shop talk. This is a family celebration.

Jack: I think that's a great idea. It isn't everyday a man gets to see his son tie the knot, and I want to bask in this.

Billy: Bask away.

Victoria: I'm so sorry. Billy!

[ Billy snorts ] What is wrong with you?

Billy: I think I got to get out of here.

Adrian: My only crime here is bringing well wishes to my daughter.

Rey: Lola doesn't want you here. Respect that and go.

Adrian: My son, always so serious. You can't even lighten up for a minute, not even on a day like today. It's a happy occasion.

Rey: Yeah, and it's gonna stay that way, because you are leaving.

Adrian: I'm not going anywhere.

Arturo: Is there a problem here?

Rey: When the hell did you get here?

Arturo: Before the ceremony started. I watched from the back 'cause i didn't want to make a scene.

Rey: Out of respect for our sister, like someone who considers the feelings of others.

Arturo: Pops.

Adrian: Arturo. Are you two actually going to team up on me? Oh, this is gonna be good.

Lola: It's a little late for this kind of talk, mama. We're already married.

Celeste: I know. What I want to say is, I'm sorry. I misjudged you, kyle. And I -- [ Chuckles ] I mean, clearly you love lola so much, and she's head-over-heels in love with you. And while that alone will not make a successful marriage, you both have worked through so many major problems already. So, what more could a mother want?

Kyle: Thank you. For your...blessing?

Celeste: [ Laughs ] Yes. Better late than never, right? Heh.

Kyle: It means a lot to me. And I'm gonna work the rest of my life to make your daughter happy.

Celeste: Well, I hope you will do that for each other.

Lola: Thank you, mama.

Phyllis: I thought you were an expert at creating the perfect guest list. I want you to know that you are a big fat "no" on this one.

Theo: Sometimes an event needs a surprise. To shake things up and keep people from dozing off in their chicken or fish.

Phyllis: What kind of surprise?

Theo: A little wake-up call for the groom. So don't rat me out, okay?

Rey: [ Sighs ] Pops here crashed the wedding. But lola doesn't know he's here yet, so I'm trying to get him out of here before he ruins yet another day for our family.

Adrian: I've made a lot of mistakes -- and I've owned them.

Rey: Have you, though? Really?

I have apologized to your brother many times over the years. But today is not about rey. It's about my little girl getting married. And I want to be here for it.

Rey: You already saw the ceremony. Let that be enough. Look, you barely laid eyes on lola before today. You don't just get -- get to waltz in here and try to take credit for her happiness.

Adrian: That's not what I'm doing here. But if lola doesn't want me here, that's her decision to make, not yours.

Rey: She already did when she didn't invite you.

Adrian: There's no getting through to your brother when it comes to me. How 'bout you? You want to show your father a little compassion?

Rey: Are you -- are you serious?

Arturo: I mean, he does have a point, all right? We -- we should tell lola he's here, and, like that, she can decide what to do.

Adrian: Thank you, son.

Arturo: What? I-I'm just -- I'm just saying, he's not leaving, so...

Rey: Fine. You're so hell-bent on seeing lola, we'll tell her you're here. But you don't make a move. You stay out of sight until we give her a heads up. That's the only way this works.

Adrian: I can live with that.

Arturo: You really looked like you wanted to kill me.

Rey: Years of experience.

Arturo: [ Snorts softly ]

Rey: Let's just hope this buys us some time to get him out of here before lo ever knows that he was here.

Arturo: Yeah.

Mariah: [ Clicks tongue ] Hi, there! Hi, everybody. If I could please have your attention. I would like you all to give a very warm welcome to mr. And mrs. Kyle abbott.

[ Cheers and applause ]

[ Applause continues ]

Billy: Look, it's just hard, okay, this family stuff. I'm happy for kyle. I am. And jack. You could hear how proud he was to watch his kid get married. But, you know... look, when delia died, her whole world flashed in front of my eyes. Including her wedding day. And I know that I'm never gonna walk her down the aisle. And it's -- it's breaking my heart.

Victoria: I'm sorry.

Billy: It's all right.

Victoria: Let's go home.

Billy: You stay here. I'm gonna go. I could use some time.

Victoria: Really?

Billy: Yeah. Yeah, you can cover for me, too. So I don't look like the world's worst uncle.

Victoria: All right. If that's what you want, and you're really okay --

Billy: I'll be fine. I promise. See you.

Victoria: Okay.

Lola: Hi!

Arturo: Hey!

Lola: [ Smooches ] I'm sorry that I couldn't talk to you before the ceremony.

Arturo: Oh, come on. That's fine. You were kind of busy.

Lola: Well, I'm so glad that you were able to make it, because today wouldn't have been the same without you, arturo.

Arturo: I'm your favorite brother, so where else would I be?

Lola: [ Scoffs ]

Arturo: But seriously, watching you walk down that aisle was so... I may have shed a tear or two. But don't tell rey.

Lola: You guys are both softies under those thick skulls.

Arturo: [ Chuckles ]

Lola: Today couldn't get any better, because all the people that I love are here. What are you looking at?

Arturo: Lo...

Lola: What?

Abby: Hi, all! As part of my maid of honor duties, it is my pleasure to announce the bride and groom's first official dance.

[ Applause ]

Kyle: Lola and I want to thank you all for coming. I hope everyone is having a great time. I know I am. I-I'm still kind of in awe that I'm the one who gets to marry this woman. But when it's right, you know. You want to say something?

Lola: Uh, sure. Like most little girls, i thought I was probably going to get married one day. But as the daughter of a single mother, I didn't really have a role model for what that was supposed to be. I didn't really know if the man of my dreams existed. And then I met kyle.

[ Chuckles ] And there he was.

[ Applause ] Oh, and, um, I think everyone should know that kyle planned all of this down to the smallest detail, which is another reason why I love him so much.

[ Music plays ] Oh, my god.

Kyle: Hmm?

Lola: It's the perfect song! How did you know?

Kyle: Mmm... rey told me you used to play it over and over again as a little girl.

Lola: [ Exhales softly ] This is everything i dreamed it would be.

Summer: Whew...

Phyllis: How you doing, supergirl?

Summer: [ Sniffles ] I'm fine.

Phyllis: Yeah?

Summer: Yeah.

Phyllis: 'Cause that sappy display was enough to make anyone nauseous.

Summer: Thank you.

Phyllis: Yeah.

Summer: I'm just gonna power through it, you know?

Phyllis: I admire your tenacity. I really do. And you know what? I'm gonna throw you an amazing wedding. A real one, with a man who deserves you. Okay? It's gonna outshine this dog-and-pony show, including a dress that's not off the rack.

Summer: [ Chuckles ] Oh. You are the best plus one. Thank you.

Abby: We'd like to invite everyone to join the happy couple on the dance floor.

Phyllis: May I have this dance?

Summer: Yeah, what the hell, right?

Nate: Want to take a spin?

Abby: I'd love to.

Traci: What happened to billy?

Victoria: Well, you know what, he wasn't feeling well, um, and he didn't want to put a damper on things, so he ducked out and he went home.

Traci: Oh.

Adrian: Where's lola?

Arturo: She and kyle are making speeches, then cutting cake. As soon as we can get her alone, we'll let her know you're here.

Adrian: I'm going to the men's room.

Rey: I don't think he's gonna buy our act much longer.

Arturo: Well, we've got to convince him this is a mistake.

Rey: Yeah. [ Sighs ] Good luck with that. You think you and are hard-headed? Where do you think we get that from? How's everything going with mia's pregnancy? Everything okay with the baby?

Arturo: Baby's healthy. Won't be much longer now.

Rey: Still haven't forgotten the day I thought I was gonna be a father.

Summer: Hey.

Kyle: Hey, there.

Summer: Hey.

Kyle: Is it as weird as you thought it would be?

Summer: Yep.

[ Chuckles ] Yeah.

Kyle: Yeah?

Summer: Um... but, um, I can tell how happy you are. And, um, you were right about it seeming right, so... um... yeah. I just wanted to congratulate you again. You and lola really are made for each other. So... okay.

Kyle: Hey, wait. Um... after all we've been through, I'm so grateful that we can still be friends. You've been an important part of my life for such a long time. So maybe you and I can start this next phase of our lives with a clean slate? A positive note?

Summer: Yeah. Put the past behind us, right?

Kyle: Yeah.

Summer: I'd like that. Okay. Heh...

Adam: Listen, we're gonna kick things into high gear once you're D.A.

Michael: That's not wise.

Adam: [ Sighs ] I have forces that are rallying against me. I don't have time to play it safe.

Michael: If we're not careful, all you and I will have is time. Say, 8 to 10 years in a federal penitentiary.

Arturo: Rey, I don't have an excuse for what happened between mia and me. I'm really sorry that I hurt you. We both are.

Rey: I don't need apologies. I just need to know that my niece or nephew is gonna have a good life.

Arturo: [ Sighs ] Yeah. Yeah, I want that, too. I actually can't sleep at night thinking about it. I mean, this baby's gonna have

me as a father. But, you know, I actually -- i think I have something in my corner. Like a little ace in the hole.

Rey: What's that?

Arturo: You. If ever find myself at a complete loss as a father, which I'm sure will happen a lot, all I need to do is ask myself, "what would my brother do?"

Rey: [ Sighs ] I can't stay mad at you today. So let's just...

Arturo: Yeah. Let's just...

Rey: It's the happiest day of our sister's life, and...

Arturo: And it's up to us to keep it that way.

Kyle: Thanks for coming. I couldn't have done this without you.

Nate: [ Chuckles ]

Abby: I know.

Kyle: [ Scoffs ]

Jack: Hey, hey. Glad I caught you. I was about to propose a little toast.

Lola: Did I hear something about a toast?

Jack: I promise, I will keep it short and sweet.

Traci: [ Laughs ] Jack's toasts are an epic part of any abbott gathering.

Lola: I have heard a few, and I agree.

Jack: Well, if you'll excuse me. Could I have your attention, please? There is someone who could not be here tonight who I know would love to raise a glass to her favorite grandson if she could. Dina would be so proud of you, kyle.

Kyle: To dina.

Jack: To dina.

All: To dina.

[ Glasses clink ]

Jack: Kyle, you are one of the greatest gifts I've ever been given.

Kyle: He means I was a surprise.

Jack: Now, yes, the very best kind. You brought energy and excitement to our family. And watching you grow into the man you are today has changed me. It has inspired me. There were a few challenges.

Kyle: Ooh. Understatement.

Jack: But they were worth it. And now -- now you have outdone yourself. Bringing lola into our lives, this beautiful woman with so much talent and warmth and grace. Lola, you are a blessing to our family [Voice breaking] And we will never take you for granted. We will always love you both. We will always be there to support you. And we will always be trying to weasel an invitation to dinner at your place.

[ Laughter ]

Jack: To kyle and lola.

All: To kyle and lola!

[ Glasses clink ]

Celeste: [ Chuckles ] And would mind if I said a few words on behalf of the rosales family?

Jack: By all means. The floor is yours.

Celeste: Thank you.

[ Chuckles ] I will admit that I am sometimes too quick to judge. And other times, clearly, not quick enough. But I would love to thank jack for making sure I did not miss this very special day. To the joining of the abbott and the rosales families.

[ Glasses clinking ]

Kyle: Hmm?

Lola: Theo is here. And he is crashing our wedding with a date?

Kyle: [ Groans ] I'm taking care of it. Right now.

Lola: Okay. Be careful.

Kyle: What the hell are you doing here?

Theo: Chill out. I brought you a present. You remember zoe from new york?

Kyle: Yeah, she almost died.

[ Sighs ] How could I forget?

Zoe: Hi.

Rey: No, that's not gonna happen. You got to go. You got to go.

Arturo: Just do what he says!

Celeste: Do this for her sake -- for lola's sake.

Adrian: Mija! I've been saying,

Michael: That's not really negotiating.

Adam: [ Sighs ] This isn't a negotiation, michael.

Billy: What the hell's going on with you two?

Michael: Good evening, billy. Shouldn't you be at a wedding?

Billy: Does this sudden bond with adam have anything to do with kevin leaving town?

Michael: Kevin had to go home to his daughter.

Billy: You know, people found it odd, kevin lingering around genoa city, hanging out with adam. They were worried.

Michael: What people?

Billy: You, for one. I mean, you're his brother, right? And now kevin's gone, and it looks like you took his place.

Michael: [ Scoffs ] You really need to lay off the triple espressos.

Billy: Why did you drop nick's custody case and file a petition for adam?

Michael: Stay out of this.

Billy: I smell a rat, michael. Do you know what a rat king is? It's when two rats get their tails intertwined, and they're bound together. Stuck to one another for life.

Michael: [ Chuckles quietly ] Watch it. You may find yourself the cheese.

Lola: [ Inhales, exhales deeply ] What are you doing here?

Adrian: I wanted to see my little girl on her big day.

Rey: This isn't the time or place.&

Adrian: If not now, when? Every time I see a picture of you, my heart aches for all the things that we missed out on. And I want that to end.

Arturo: This is too much.

Celeste: How could you be doing this today of all days? You -- you need to get out. You need to get out right now.

Rey: Let's go.

Celeste: Let's go.

Adrian: I'm not going anywhere.

Rey: The hell you aren'T.

Lola: Wait. Just...

[ Sighs ] Just wait.

[ Sighs ] I'd like to talk to adrian alone, please. I'll be fine. Please.

Adrian: Look at you. My beautiful, talented, sweet daughter.

[ Snorts softly ] You're all grown up.

Lola: That's what happens to kids when you never see them. They grow up.

Adrian: I regret the past so much. And I know there's damage that I'll never be able to repair. But when I saw you walk down that aisle, my heart burst open.

> Lola: You were there?

Adrian: I couldn't stay away. No matter how awful my actions may have seemed to you growing up, I never stopped caring about you.

Lola: [ Scoffs ] That's easy for you to say now.

Adrian: I can say a lot more. If you give me a chance. I'd like to try to explain some things.

Lola: Look, adrian... I don't want to be the type of person who turns my back on someone I should have been close to. But I cannot embrace you. Not now. Not today.

Adrian: I understand. The last thing I want to do is cause you any more pain. I know I can't take credit for the woman you've become. But I can at least take solace in the fact that I didn't ruin your life.

Celeste: Okay. Enough. I'm not gonna let you ruin one more second of my baby's wedding.

Lola: I don't care if he stays. But I can't -- I can't do this.

Kyle: Look, if you guys want to talk, let's do it somewhere else.

Theo: Wouldn't want to tear you away from your own wedding.

Kyle: Then what do you want?

Theo: To make a peace offering.

Kyle: Right.

Phyllis: What's going on over there?

Summer: I have a hunch. I think that she is the human version of a grenade that theo's about to lob right at kyle.

Phyllis: Oh. I mean, well, we don't want to lay our bodies on a grenade, so...

Summer: No.

Phyllis: More cake?

Summer: Yeah.

Phyllis: Yeah?

Summer: Yeah. I like that.

Theo: Zoe wanted to let you know what's happened to her since that nightmare of an evening.

Kyle: Okay.

Zoe: I'm fine. And that night didn't scar me or anything, and I don't hold any grudges.

Kyle: I'm glad there were no long-term consequences for you. And I feel terrible about how everything went down that night.

Zoe: Theo told me. And that's more than I can say for my father. He only cared about getting some money out of it. Sorry he was such a jerk.

Kyle: There was a lot of blame to go around.

Theo: See, dude? Good news. You can relax and forget that that ever happened. You don't have to carry around all that guilt wherever you go like it's your imaginary friend.

Kyle: I'm sorry you ended up in the hospital that night. And I'm sorry theo used you to try to blow up my wedding.

Theo: How am I "blowing up" your wedding? I'm doing the opposite of that. You need a dictionary. Didn't you go to harvard?

Kyle: Get out. We're done. For good. Discover your skin's potential:

[ Front door slams ]

Billy: Hey. How was the rest of the reception?

Victoria: I'm not coming from the reception.

Billy: What do you mean?

Victoria: I left a while ago. Only to come home and find that you weren't here, and you're not answering your phone.

Billy: [ Sighs ] Yeah. Um...

Victoria: Billy, I was worried about you, needless to say. I went looking for you. That's where I have been the last two hours. Where have you been?

Billy: I went for a drive, vick. I just -- I just had to clear my head, that's all.

Victoria: Don't lie to me, okay?

Billy: I'm not.

Victoria: Did you have another incident?

Billy: No. No, everything's fine.

Victoria: Okay.

[ Sighs ] When you disappear like that and I can't reach you, it freaks me out. Especially after what you told me tonight.

Billy: Okay. I'm sorry. Okay? I, uh... I'm sorry I shut off my phone. I just...needed some time. And I -- that's it. Okay? I promise.

Theo: I told you we weren't here to cause any trouble, and we're not. We're happy to go. Nobody has to ask me to leave a party twice.

Phyllis: Hey. I'm phyllis summers. And you are?

Zoe: I'm --

Theo: Why don't you go on ahead? Whatever you have going on up there, I need to know what it is if it affects my daughter.

Theo: Well, I promise, I'll tell you another time.

Phyllis: I'll hold you to that.

Kyle: [ Sighs ]

Lola: There you are.

[ Sighs ] Are you okay?

Kyle: I am so happy to see you.

Lola: Me, too. Very happy to see you.

Kyle: Mm.

Lola: I see theo's gone. What did he want?

Kyle: Long story. Not worth repeating. What's going on over there?

Lola: I had a wedding crasher of my own.

Kyle: Who?

Lola: That is my dad.

Kyle: What?

Abby: Hey.

Arturo: Hey. How are you?

Abby: I'm fine. Heh.

Arturo: I heard you have a new project. Sounds impressive.

Abby: Thank you. Um... I'm not gonna ask you about your new project, so if you'll excuse me...

Arturo: Abby... abby, you need to know how sorry I am about everything --

Nate: Is there a problem here?

Arturo: No.

Nate: Wasn't asking you.

Arturo: [ Scoffs ]

Abby: Everything's fine.

Arturo: Okay. You two enjoy your night.

Nate: Did I, uh, come off like a "I'm gonna kick your butt" boyfriend?

Abby: [ Sighs ] Heh... no, no. That was perfect, actually.

Nate: Good. Uh... just so you know, I would have kicked it.

Abby: Oh. [ Chuckles ]

Celeste: [ Sighs ] I could use a drink.

Jack: Uh, I can make that happen. Uh, everything all right over there?

Celeste: I'm just not gonna let that man take one more second of my time.

[ Sighs ] I'm not gonna let anything or anyone ruin this really special day. I mean, that -- wasn't that your pitch to get me here?

Jack: Yes, I believe it was.

Celeste: I also believe you promised me a dance.

Jack: I am a man of my word.

Celeste: You have no idea how attractive that is.

Jack: Come with me.

Kyle: I can't believe your father showed up uninvited. I already threw theo out. How 'bout I go two for two?

Lola: Hey, hey. I appreciate it, but my mom and my brothers already let him have it. And in the end... I told him how I felt. So I'm not really sure why he's sticking around, but I just don't care.

Kyle: [ Huffs ]

Lola: Because I want to focus on you, and this magical wedding that you planned for us.

[ Sighs happily ]

Kyle: Okay. Then we have one more tradition left to do.

[ Taps microphone ] So, I know this is a little old-fashioned, but it's time for the ceremonial tossing of the bouquet.

[ Women exclaim ]

Mariah: Here we go.

Kyle: Gather round. Come on, come on.

[ Indistinct chatter ]

Kyle: Are you ready?

Lola: Yeah.

Kyle: Three...two...one.

Abby: Oh...

[ Cheers and applause ]

[ Laughter ]

Summer: Mother.

Phyllis: [ Gasps ] Oh!

Ashley: No!

Mariah: Oh. Mm?

[ Laughter and applause ]

Victoria: It felt like there was some kind of drama going on at the reception behind the scenes. I stayed out of it, of course, because I have enough drama in my life at any given time.

Billy: That was a good idea.

Victoria: Heh. I did hear something interesting, however.

Billy: Yeah?

Victoria: Mm-hmm. Supposedly, michael is running for district attorney.

Billy: Really?

Victoria: Mm-hmm.

Billy: That seems out of left field.

Victoria: Yeah, I know. It caught a lot of people off-guard. First he's representing nicholas, and then he's filing a petition for adam, becoming D.A. I guess working for adam could drive anyone to the right side of the law.

Lola: I loved every minute of tonight.

Kyle: Mm-hmm?

Lola: Almost every minute.

Kyle: Me, too. I can't wait for our honeymoon to start.

Mariah: Hello, everybody! Hi. Last announcement of the night, I swear. But I want to ask you guys to give the couple your best wishes and send them off in their new life together. And, most importantly, we have bubbles!

[ Guests cheering ] Bubbles! [ Laughs ]
