Previously on "the young and the restless"...
Devon: You've been a real light for me. You brought me back out of the dark. Did you rent out the penthouse?
Nate: No, I sold it.
Cane: Tracy abbott, do you have any idea how truly amazing you are?
Billy: So, what are you not saying about theo?
Jack: In new york, he and kyle got very close, and, boy, they got into a lot of trouble.
Kyle: Hey.
Theo: Hey!
Kyle: What you doing here?
Theo: Hey, everyone, come on in!
Kyle: Um...
Theo: Come on! Let's go!
Kyle: Hey, no, this -- this is not a party!
Billy: See, you need new sights, new sounds, jack.
Jack: That sounds like travel, and this is a bad time for that.
Billy: Hey, it's billy. Uh, is the jet available? It's gonna go to paris. Jack is gonna go check on the competition.
Ashley: Are you lost,
monsieur?
Jack: Hiya, sis.
Ashley: Hi! Welcome to paris! How's mother?
Jack: As well as can be expected. We'll talk about that.
Ashley: How are you?
Jack: We can about me later, too.
Ashley: Okay. I'm so happy to see you. I know we said we were gonna meet at a café, but you can wait to eat, I want to show you something first.
Jack: I am open to anything and everything.
Ashley: Oh, how very french of you.
Jack: But could you just give me a little hint on where you're taking me?
Ashley: Absolutely not. Follow me. Here we go. How was your flight?
Jack: Uh, uneventful.
Ashley: Oh, good.
Jack: Uneventful's good.
Ashley: That's a good flight.
Cane: Oh, you've been up for a while, huh?
Traci: I have. I love watching the sunrise.
Cane: Mm.
Traci: Especially over new york city.
Cane: Yeah. Look at that, huh?
Traci: Mm-hmm.
Cane: Isn't that beautiful?
Traci: Isn't it?
Cane: You know what, this is a view that I could get used to.
Devon: Yo, I literally just got home. Do you have, like, an app on your phone that tells you when i walk through the door, or what?
Nate: Maybe I missed you.
Devon: Yeah, you missed raiding my refrigerator.
Nate: And, uh, watching your big-screen tv.
Devon: There it is. You lost out on that when you sold the penthouse.
Nate: I think it was still the right choice. Man, I was always working, never made it my home. But with the money I got from the sale, I was able to make some charitable donations and set aside enough money for a down payment on a house.
Devon: Oooh. I -- I can't imagine you mowing lawns, but I hope you find the house of your dreams, man. I really do.
Nate: Thanks, man.
Devon: Yeah.
Nate: You're in a good mood.
Devon: I am. I am in a really good mood. My trip went well, my medication's doing what it's supposed to do. I just got back from a therapy session, and, uh, yeah, I'm all good.
Nate: Cheers to that.
Devon: Thanks.
Nate: Uh, mind if i grab a juice?
Devon: You know where it's at.
[ Sighs ] I'm also thinking of doing one more thing to make my life a little better.
Nate: Oh, yeah? What's that?
Devon: I'm thinking of taking the next step with elena.
Nate: How big a step? You talking about proposing?
Theo: Are you guys ever not in the mood?
Lola: Hi, theo.
Theo: I'm glad I caught you together, because I wanted to offer my heartfelt apologies for barging in on you the other night.
Lola: Thank you for saying that. I got to get to the kitchen.
Theo: Look, I know things got a bit out of hand. I never meant for that to happen. You two okay?
Kyle: We're fine. We met up later that night.
Theo: Good. I don't want to cause any trouble between you two.
Kyle: Is that right? Because you seem pretty focused on us, like maybe causing trouble was the goal.
Abby: Phyllis! Just the person I wanted to see.
Phyllis: Uh, okay, whatever this is, it's gonna have to be another time. I'm leaving, and I'm not interested in being tortured.
Abby: Okay, I just wanted to chat for a minute.
Phyllis: Mm-hmm.
Abby: I have a proposition that I think you might be very interested in. I'm just a normal person

Devon: No, man, I'm not talking about proposing. I just -- I want to ask elena to live together, and not just as roommates.
Nate: Right, uh... that's a big move. But, uh, you sure you're not doing this as a way to prove to yourself and everyone you're over hilary?
Devon: No, nate, not at all. This has nothing to do with hilary. It's about me and elena and what we could be.
Nate: More than roommates.
Devon: Yeah, I don't see the point in her having her space and my space. I'd just like this to be our space, you know?
Nate: I get it.
Devon: Yeah and I think it's the right thing to do.
Nate: Then go for it. She'd be crazy to say no.
Devon: Oh, I appreciate you saying that. I just hope that she feels the same way.
Theo: I swear, man, I would never try to mess with your relationship. I mean, lola's an incredible woman, and I know what you went through to be together.
Kyle: Then what's this about?
Theo: Eh, I guess it's tougher than I thought to let go of the guy I used to know, you know? Sort of feels like I'm losing a friend.
Kyle: But I'm right here.
Theo: Well, the new you. Man, that guy's so...
Kyle: Watch it.
Theo: Settled?
Kyle: Content. Look, I'm still the same guy. It's just my priorities have changed. Growing up and falling in love, it's pretty great. You should try it.
Theo: [ Chuckles ] That's what I'm talking about.
Kyle: What?
Theo: Well, the not-so-subtle judgment, you know? I like my lifestyle just fine. I don't want to change. At least I'm honest about who I am. Maybe you should try it.
Kyle: What's that supposed to mean?
Theo: Just that -- I mean, you can't rewrite history. I mean, you know some seriously insane stuff went down in new york, and you may be blocking it out or in denial or whatever, but it's a part of who you are. So when you're all like, "theo, you should try growing up," well, I mean, it gets under my skin a little.
Kyle: Look, I'm sorry. I'm not judging you.
Theo: I'm sorry, too. And, hey, your secrets are safe with me.
Kyle: What secrets?
Theo: Exactly. All I'm saying is, new york defined both of us, and, hey, we were friends for a reason. But you're right. It was a long time ago, so... let's just forget we had this conversation, okay?
Kyle: Yeah. Okay.
Abby: As you know, society is a big success.
Phyllis: Yes, I do know that. Congratulations.
Abby: And I am looking to expand the brand.
Phyllis: Good idea.
Abby: And you are opening a new hotel.
Phyllis: And our property would be perfect for your place, right? Except...
Abby: Except what?
Phyllis: You're a newman and an abbott, and I'm at the top of the hit list.
Abby: That is true.
Phyllis: Billy and jack would hate it.
Abby: Not their decision.
Phyllis: And nick believes that adam stole dark horse.
Abby: Because he did, but I will handle nick.
Phyllis: And you and i are not friends.
Abby: Zero reason to like each other.
Phyllis: So why do I think that there's a catch coming?
Abby: I don't have to like you to go into business with you. We have a common interest. I need a space, you have a space to fill.
Phyllis: So the only catch would be that we're making money hand over fist?
Abby: Assuming you sign a contract that I promise will be iron-clad.
Phyllis: It sounds too good to be true.
Abby: Only it's not. We are just two people setting aside our personal issues to make a deal. So...are you in?
Phyllis: I'm gonna think about it. Think about that. (Avo) do you push through migraine?
Nate: It's nice to see that gc's hardest-working restaurateur gets a little downtime.
Abby: I don't have to go in until later. And why do you look so relaxed, doctor?
Nate: My shift doesn't start till this afternoon.
Abby: So what's on the agenda?
Nate: Going house-hunting, actually.
Abby: Oh!
Nate: The gcac's nice, but it's not a home.
Abby: What kind of place are you looking for?
Nate: Lots of space, a yard I can take care of and...
Abby: [ Giggles ]
Nate: What?
Abby: I'm just trying to imagine you on a riding mower.
Nate: Why is that so hard to believe?
Abby: I don't know, maybe because you're a workaholic surgeon.
Nate: Who likes to cut his own grass and work on my own car because I am also handy, damn it.
Abby: Yes, sir. Yeah. It sounds like you know exactly what you want.
Nate: Yeah, I just hope I can find the right house and make an easy deal. I hate getting caught up in all the haggling.
Abby: I love a good haggle. Knowing when to take a stand and when to give in, going back and forth until you are both satisfied. A good negotiation can be exhilarating.
Nate: Uh, we both have different ideas of fun.
Abby: [ Giggles ]
Nate: But I can use someone with your business savvy. You want to come with me?
Abby: 100%.
Lola: What can i fire up for you guys? I've got a killer grilled octopus on the menu today.
Summer: Oh, well, as tempting as that sounds, I have to steal theo away.
Lola: Oh, darn.
Theo: I thought we were gonna grab a bite here while we worked.
Summer: We were, but plans change.
Theo: Lead the way, goddess.
Summer: Ooh, I like that.
Theo: Catch you guys later.
Kyle: I'm gonna finish my coffee and then head to work. Can you sit for a minute?
Lola: Yeah. Can I ask you something?
Kyle: Of course.
Lola: I overheard you and theo talking before I walked in, discussing new york. You never really talk about your time there much, and I just wanted to know a little bit about it.
Cane: I haven't had a morning like this in a long time.
Traci: I agree. It's pretty wonderful. Makes me sorry we have to leave and go home.
Cane: Do we?
Traci: I think we do. People are gonna wonder where we are.
[ Laughs ]
Cane: I don't know. You know, I love this city. I love being here with you. You know, it's just simple, and it's easy. I don't know. Maybe we could make this our new reality.
Ashley: So, if the real reason you came to paris was to spy on my operation, I think you got your money's worth.
Jack: Well, you didn't let me into the top-secret lab.
Ashley: You are never happy. I showed you everything else, jack.
Jack: Your company is amazing.
Ashley: Thank you.
Jack: I expected nothing less.
Ashley: Thank you. I have to keep up with jabot collective. Maybe even, dare I say, surpass it?
Jack: Well, the last time i saw the numbers, jcv was outselling abbott exchange...
Ashley: For now. Okay? Just for now.
Jack: I look forward to whatever new surprises you have for me.
Ashley: I don't think anything could be as surprising as your visit to my campus.
Jack: You saw the look on their faces...
Ashley: Yes.
Jack: What were saying under their breaths?
Ashley: I know what they were saying -- "porquoi? Jack abbott? Porquoi?
Jack: Oh, my god!
[ Both laugh ]
Ashley: So. I spoke to billy when you were en route, and he said it was really his idea that you came to this fabulous city, not yours. So what really brings you to paris, jack?
Theo: The change of venue was definitely an improvement.
Summer: Mm-hmm. Hey, come here.
Theo: Oh!
Summer: I am wearing a jcv necklace, and you are looking hot, so we're both doing our jobs.
Theo: You were born to be an influencer. It won't be long until your feed blows up. I don't think we're alone.
Phyllis: Hello, you two. Hello, ma'am! Uh, theo! Vanderway.
Phyllis: Mm. You can cut the "ma'am" stuff. Just --
Theo: Yes, ma'am -- phyllis.
Phyllis: Yeah.
Theo: It's nice to see you again.
Phyllis: You, too. Uh, can I talk to my daughter for a second?
Theo: Yeah. I need to make a call.
Phyllis: Uh...
Summer: Okay, what is so important that you had to chase theo away?
Phyllis: Seriously? Blowing off work for some guy?
Summer: Look, you don't even know what you're talking about.
Phyllis: I do know what I'm talking about. Listen, I get the appeal. He's super cute and he puts on that, you know, awkward thing for the mom. I get it.
Summer: He's not putting on any act.
Phyllis: What -- I've seen his social media. He's a player.
Summer: Okay, I know exactly who theo is.
Phyllis: Yeah, he's the one who got you drunk the other night.
Summer: He didn't get me drunk. I -- I did that to myself.
Phyllis: Oh, my gosh, summer, please don't be that girl.
Summer: What girl?
Phyllis: That girl who gets thrown off-course because of some guy. Listen, eye candy, no matter how delicious, will make you sick.
Summer: Okay, is this lecture over now?
Phyllis: No, it's not! Please, stay focused on what's important. Please. This thing with theo has to stop.
Kyle: Honestly, there's not much to say. My time in new york was exactly what you think it was.
Lola: I don't really know what to think.
Kyle: Imagine two young and dumb dudes in the city.
Lola: Well, that just doesn't sound like you.
Kyle: It's not. I was a man-child with a bank account who knew nothing about life. There may have been a few temper tantrums.
Lola: Okay, maybe I am glad I missed that phase.
Kyle: [ Sighs ] I'm not proud of everything that happened, but... I promise, it's nothing to lose sleep over. I have to get to work. Are we okay?
Lola: Yeah. I'll call you later.
Rey: Hey.
Lola: Hey.
Rey: Was groomzilla pitching some wedding ideas?
Lola: What? No. We weren't talking about the wedding.
Rey: Everything okay?
Lola: Yeah. Yes.
Rey: So no.
Abby: I didn't know cane was selling the house.
Nate: Yeah, I hadn't thought about it for myself 'cause i think of it as cane and lily's home, but... when the agent mentioned it to me, I figured I'd take a look.
Abby: Lily loved this place. But, you know what, I bet she'd like the idea of you creating new memories here.
Nate: It does have everything on my checklist. But the idea of moving out of neil's into lily and cane'S... you think cane would feel weird about selling it to me? Like he'd think about how his family fell apart every time he saw me?
Abby: I don't know. There's only one way to find out.
Traci: Cane, I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by "new reality."
Cane: I, um... I kind of don't want to leave this feeling behind when we get on the plane, you know, like... it's like I feel like this could be a fresh start for us, and i kind of -- I kind of want to explore it. You know, what's happening here, to see if we can, um -- to see if we can make it real, you know?
[ Cellphone chimes ]
[ Sighs ] I don't want to look at it. I don'T.
Traci: You should. It might be important.
Cane: [ Scoffs ]
[ Sighs ]
Traci: What is it?
Cane: It's the, uh -- it's the stars aligning.
Abby: What'd he say?
Nate: He said yes.
Abby: Yes! Yes! That's so exciting! You bought a house!
Nate: This is the one.
Devon: Hey, you!
Elena: Hi!
Devon: Hey.
Elena: So glad you're home.
Devon: I'm glad to be home. I missed you like crazy.
Elena: I missed you. Mm! [ Giggles ] Hey.
Devon: [ Groaning ] Oh, baby! How do you look so damn beautiful after working all night?
Elena: Oh, you are so smooth. But also a liar.
Devon: I am not lying at all. And I don't feel particularly smooth right now.
Elena: What's wrong?
Devon: Nothing's wrong. I've just been doing some thinking while I was gone.
Elena: Okay.
Devon: Yeah, I, um... I had a bit of a revelation, and ever since it popped in my head, I haven't been able to get it out.
Elena: Well, usually, when you have an idea like this, it's a good one.
Devon: I appreciate that. It feels right. 'Cause we feel right. And... I'll just come out and say it. I, uh -- I think that we should live together.
Elena: What? You mean as a couple.
Devon: Mm-hmm.
Elena: [ Chuckles ]
Devon: You don't have to say yes just because I asked you, either. I'm just putting it out there --
Elena: Hey, I need to take a shower and put some clean clothes on, but maybe we can go on a walk and talk about this. Deal?
Devon: Deal.
Elena: Okay.
Devon: Okay. I comparison shop for everything to get the best deal. Gas is 6 cents cheaper here. Sale rack! No! And, for loans, I go to lendingtree.Com. I wanted to consolidate my credit cards in to a personal loan to pay them off faster. Lending tree made lenders compete for my business and I ended up with a loan that saved me over $9000 and no more credit card debt. I mean $9000! It's a lot of money. Lending tree, may the best loan win.
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Ashley: So, just a spur-of-the-moment vacation, huh?
Jack: Why is that so hard to believe?
Ashley: Because billy told me he practically had to shove you onto the plane, jack.
Jack: What difference does it make? I'm here, we're having a lovely time.
Ashley: We're having a very lovely time. I care about you. I want to know what's really going on.
Jack: Okay, you want me to be honest? I don't know. I've been stuck in this funk, this, how do say in paris,
malaise. And there's good reason for it. Jabot is thriving, mother's in good hands...
Ashley: So...?
Jack: So I should be walking on air. And I'm not. And I don't know why.
Summer: You know what, you're wrong about theo. He is fun and exactly what i need after the way that my marriage ended. And we weren't slacking off. We were working, okay? I'm starting to build my brand as an influencer, and that's on top of my career at jabot. I'll even show you.
Phyllis: Yeah. I mean, summer, you could be doing a lot more with your time than taking selfies.
Summer: Oh, my god.
Phyllis: Honestly. And if the reason you're doing that is because you're bored at jabot, why don't you come work at dark horse? We're opening the new hotel! You could be the social media marketer!
Summer: Do you ever stop?
Theo: Is everything okay?
Phyllis: Yes, it is. Thank you. We need a few more minutes.
Summer: No, we don'T.
Theo: I heard about the hotel. Sounds like a phenomenal project.
Phyllis: Yes, it will be, thank you.
Theo: Well, if you need any help with the launch party, hit me up. I've got a list of celebs who can fly in and endorse.
Phyllis: Oh, great. Uh, I might do that. Thank you very much.
Summer: [ Laughs ] Oh, my god!
Phyllis: What?
Summer: You -- you can't even focus on me for 10 minutes! You are such a hypocrite! Oh, my god. You know what, no, we're going. Come on.
Phyllis: Okay, hey, we're not finished with this. Please, let's talk! Summer!
Summer: No! There's no point!
Rey: I'm not leaving until you talk to me.
Lola: Rey, it's nothing. Okay, I mean, it might be something, but I don't want to make a big deal out of it.
Rey: What did kyle do?
Lola: It's not like that. It's just -- kyle has this kind of "bad boy" past in new york, and it's been coming up a lot lately. It just made me realize that he has this whole life that i don't know a lot about.
Rey: Well, I am out of the business of being overprotective, unless you want me to look into it.
Lola: No. Don't do that.
Rey: Okay, well, this is what I'm gonna say. Trust your instincts. Don't bury them like I did mine with mia. If you have questions, get answers.
Cane: You know, I'm actually glad the house is gonna stay in the family, you know? That way, mattie and charlie can stay there when they come back to town.
Traci: I'm so happy that you're so positive about this. I mean, this is really big. It's one thing to put your home on the market, but to actually go through with it, that's another.
Cane: I knew this day was gonna come, and I -- I knew i was gonna be okay when it did.
Traci: You've been through so many changes these last few months.
Cane: Yeah, it's been a rough road, but I'm okay, I am. I'm okay with it, you know? I feel like I can breathe again. I feel like I can live in this moment now. This moment here with you.
Elena: I suppose we've already addressed all of the things that most couples worry about when they move in together, like what to watch on tv.
Devon: You can always watch your medical shows, babe.
Elena: [ Giggles ] And you've got your music competitions. Still...
Devon: Yeah?
Elena: Even though it's only a short move down the hall, it's still a big change.
Devon: Yeah, I know that. I do. But I also know how much joy you've brought into my life since I met you. When I was gone, the only thing I wanted to do was come back to you. I had this feeling like something was missing, and it's you. Because I don't want to just see you every day. I want to fall asleep with you. I want your face to be the first thing that I see when I wake up every single morning. I'd love for us to be closer than we are right now, and i really don't have any doubts about it. I mean, I'm ready. I'm just wondering if you are.
Nate: Did you see that garage? Enough space for two riding lawnmowers and a work bench.
Abby: [ Giggles ]
Nate: Man's got to have space to be a man, that's all.
Abby: Well, pride of homeownership looks kind of cute on you.
Nate: Thank you for coming along, and for the advice.
Abby: I'm glad you could finally use some advice. I was starting to think you were kind of perfect.
Nate: [ Chuckles ] I can see how you might think that, but, uh, it's not true.
Abby: [ Giggles ] I guess we should get to work.
Nate: Yeah. All right.
Abby: Hey, um, what are you doing later tonight?
Nate: Researching barbecues?
Abby: Well, if you can tear yourself away, would you like to be my plus-one at the newman family dinner? Everyone will be there.
Nate: Okay, um... you sure I wouldn't be intruding?
Abby: Are you kidding? My father adores you. I'm starting to think he likes you more than me.
Nate: Uh, that's stretching it.
Abby: [ Giggles ]
Nate: But yeah, I'd love to go.
Abby: Great, yeah, I will, um -- I'll text you the details.
Nate: Okay.
Abby: See you later.
Lola: Whoa! That smile is blinding. Does it have anything to do with that handsome doctor?
Abby: We had a fun morning house-hunting.
Lola: What?
Abby: For him, not for us.
Lola: Okay. But are things moving along?
Abby: We're seeing where it goes. How's everything here?
Lola: If you mean in the kitchen, fine. But, hey, I was wondering if i could pick your brain about something else.
Abby: Well, I seem to be on a roll with the advice today. Lay it on me.
Ashley: I have a theory as to what's ailing you.
Jack: I'm all ears.
Ashley: I think you're so used to running from crisis to crisis, you know? You're saving jabot one minute, you're dealing with our mother the next. You're healing all the rifts in the family. I don't even think you know what "normal" is anymore. So instead of being relieved because there's nothing to panic about... maybe you feel like something's missing?
Jack: Interesting thought.
Ashley: That's how I was when I first got here, when I escaped all the turmoil of genoa city. I didn't know what to do with myself. Then I gave myself a chance to breathe and live. It changed my perspective, jack. Eventually, I was able to just sit in this glorious city and enjoy a glass of wine, and sit here at this table and enjoy my brother. You know, watching our mother slip away slowly... neil taken so quickly... I was able to see something special, jack. It's all such a gift. So, what do you say we go get the most magnificent chocolate mousse you've ever experienced in your life? It's at a little patisserie around the corner. I promise you, it's not gonna disappoint.
Jack: Hey, um... thank you.
Ashley: I love you.
Traci: Cane, I'm not sure that I know what you're saying.
Cane: It was hard for me to accept that my marriage came to an end, you know? But, uh, I finally did. And now I need to find my future. And I don't know -- well, I can't predict what's gonna happen, you know, next week or next month. Or next year. But I'd like to find out with you.
Traci: Oh, cane... um...
[ Knock on door ]
Rey: I was wondering if i could ask you a few questions.
Phyllis: Oh, being questioned by you usually ends up bad for me.
Rey: Oh, hopefully not this time. Working on a new case. You might be able to help me fill in the blanks.
Phyllis: Okay, you have my attention. What is it?
Rey: Not what, who. (Christine) what you're doing
Devon: Welcome home.
Cane: I know -- did I get this wrong? Because, I mean, I thought that --
Traci: No, no, no. It's all so lovely, cane.
Cane: But that's -- that's why I thought that --
Traci: I thought so, too. I did. And, oh, it caught me by surprise. To feel butterflies again, to wake up in the morning so full of hope, to wonder what the day was going to hold. That first moment... when your hand touches his... that first kiss that you've been imagining...
Cane: That's, uh -- but you're talking like this is over.
Traci: I know exactly when this started for me. Exactly. You asked me how I was, and you waited and you listened for an answer. Oh! It was amazing.
[ Laughs ] Because it reminded me that I'm a person who deserves attention and affection and respect. Oh, my gosh, and then when you -- when you inspired my writing, oh, it was so thrilling. I was so excited to take that journey with flynn, who... was exactly like you. But... now that that's over...
Cane: Wait. Heh... so are you talking about the book here, or are you talking about...?
Traci: Cane. I would hate for you to think that I used you in any way. For myself or for my story. You're so amazing. You're a good and decent man. You are, and you have to know that. And I am so honored and grateful to be your friend. And when we get home, that's what we'll be. Really good friends who shared something magical.
Cane: You know... you are one of the best friends I've ever had.
Traci: [ Chuckles ]
Cane: That probably sounds silly.
Traci: No! No, it doesn'T. And I will always be there for you. I promise you.
Summer: I am impressed.
Theo: By?
Summer: By you. I mean, me and mom getting into it would be enough to make most guys just run, but you -- you handled her perfectly.
Theo: Well, I get that you and your mom aren't in a great place.
Summer: I mean, yeah, she used to understand that you could be a professional and still have fun at the same time. Because, if not, what's the point?
Theo: You get no argument from me.
Summer: I don't know, I just feel like I'm surrounded by naysayers and debbie downers, like my mom and kyle...
Theo: Oh, kyle's a major debbie downer. I don't know what's happened to him. He's just changed a lot.
Summer: I've heard about some of the glory days in new york, but I haven't heard all the juicy details.
Theo: Mm, those are best told late-night over many cocktails.
Summer: [ Chuckles ]
Theo: But now that kyle's settled down, it's up to you and me to carry the torch. For all the young, single people out there in search of a good time.
Summer: Okay, well, I think that you and I are up for the task.
Theo: I think so.
Summer: Oh, shoot, um, I have to go to a meeting, but what does the rest of your day look like?
Theo: Busy, but I'll text you.
Summer: Okay. Bye.
Lola: I was just wondering how much you know about the time kyle spent in new york city with theo.
Abby: Not much. I'm sure they were idiots. Why? Did you hear something?
Lola: No, uh... look, abby, just -- theo keeps talking about how out-of-control it was, and today, he was pressing kyle about the life that he had, that he's denying, or who he really is.
Abby: Ah. Okay. Theo misses his party buddy. I'm sure kyle wants nothing to do with any of that.
Lola: You're right. But when I asked kyle today about it, he danced around the topic, and it's just -- I can't help but feeling that he's holding back.
Abby: Well, I'm sure he's just mortified about how immature and obnoxious he was. Look, I wish that I could take back some of those insane stunts that I used to pull. There are some people that are always gonna see me as the naked heiress.
Lola: [ Chuckles ]
Abby: And I have grown up a lot since then. And so has kyle. He is not the same guy that he was back in new york.
Lola: I know. It's just hard not to feel insecure about what I don't know.
Abby: Then focus on who he is now because -- and do not tell him that I said this -- he's pretty great. Oh! Excuse me for a minute.
Lola: Hi, theo. It's lola. Hey, I was just wondering if you had a couple of minutes to talk today.
Rey: I'm looking into the whereabouts of phillip chancellor iv.
Phyllis: Chance. Really? Why?
Rey: Well, he seems to be missing.
Phyllis: Wow. Well, his family must be worried. Why are you questioning me?
Rey: Because you were recently in las vegas.
Phyllis: Yes, I was. Some much-needed r&R.
Rey: That was chance's last location. He fell off the grid shortly after you were there. Did you happen to meet with him?
Phyllis: Oh, no. Listen, vegas is teeming with tourists and places to hide, so...
Rey: So you were looking for him?
Phyllis: No, I wasn't looking for him, I just -- I, uh -- I heard he was there, and I wanted to talk to him because I wanted to ask him some questions about an old friend of mine -- ronan, his half-brother.
Rey: Oh! Okay.
Phyllis: Yeah. Ronan malloy.
Rey: Ronan malloy.
Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah. But I couldn't get ahold of chance so, I mean, that was it. That was the end of the story. And it was a personal matter. So that's all I can tell you.
Rey: Thank you for your time.
Phyllis: Yeah. Good luck with your search.
