Episode #11620 ~ Jack reconnects with Adam. Nate charms Abby. Cane inspires Traci.
Provided By Suzanne
Previously on "the young and the restless"...
Adam: I have to shut down the investigation. Find me a fall guy.
Paul: You think someone followed you all the way from nevada to shoot you on victor newman's ranch?
Adam: I had enemies.
I know you prefer to keep her home...
Jack: But you still think a facility would be appropriate.
Traci: I've started a new book. The main character is loosely based on you.
But we're a nonprofit.
Cane: Which I would like to work for. Maybe ex-prisoners, and help re-integrate them back into life. They're looking for redemption and, uh, so am I.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Cane: Morning.
Traci: Hello. I know you must be busy, so I won't keep you long.
Cane: No, no. Don't be silly. Anything for you. What's up?
Traci: Well, I just wanted to call and wish you a happy first day on your new job.
Cane: Aw, thanks. I appreciate that.
Traci: [ Giggles ] It's my pleasure. Are you excited?
Cane: Well, this is a new beginning for me. I just hope everything goes smoothly.
Traci: Well, I'm sure it will. And [Sighs] This project you're about to embark on, I want you to know, I just think it's wonderful.
Cane: Well, this country talks a big game about rehabilitating prisoners and re-integrating them back into society after they've served their time, but if they don't have a decent job to go to, that's gonna be impossible for them, isn't it?
Traci: Yes. Without that anchor, that -- that purpose in life. The recidivism rate is terrible. Up to 70% commit a crime in the first few years.
Cane: Wow. You've done your homework.
Traci: It's a subject I'm interested in.
Cane: Yeah, it's tragic how many obstacles these folks have to overcome.
Traci: And that's where you come in. You know, you coach people, you give them the tools they need to succeed.
Cane: Well, I haven't done it yet, but, you know, here's hoping, so...
Traci: [ Chuckles ] Mmkay. Well, you tell me how it goes. I'm gonna be around. I'm gonna be writing the next chapter of my book. Oh! And that suggestion you gave me a few days ago, it inspired me.
Cane: I'm so glad. Oh! Listen, I have to cut this short. I think my first client's here. Okay?
Traci: Okay. Break a leg!
Cane: Okay. Thank you. You dave?
David: Mr. Ashby?
Cane: Call me cane, mate. Call me cane.
David: Cane.
Cane: Hey, uh, I'll get you a cup of coffee, all right, and we'll get straight to it.
David: Great.
Velma: What? Your pet goldfish die?
What?
Velma: You look like you're havin' a rough one.
No, it's that job I'm doing for my ex -- looking for that locket.
Velma: Ohh, right. The family heirloom. The one shaped like a heart.
Yeah.
Velma: Not that she's sending ya any hints or anything.
Yeah, well, the case has taken a strange twist. I don't know what to make of it.
Velma: Well, tell me the details, love, and we'll solve it together. Always do.
Jack: Up for a visitor?
Adam: When the visitor's you? Absolutely.
Jack: Forgive my staring.
[ Stammers ] I cannot believe my eyes.
Adam: It is wonderful to see you again, jack.
Jack: When billy first told me about this, I... I didn't believe him. But here you are. My god. And your first day back in town, you manage to get yourself shot.
Adam: Well, you know I always had a flair for the dramatic.
Jack: [ Chuckles ] Glad your sense of humor is still in tact. Police have any leads?
Adam: As far as I know, they're working on iT.
Jack: Well, I hope whoever is responsible for this gets caught very quickly so you can stop looking over your shoulder. Right now, you got to keep moving forward.
Adam: I appreciate that.
Jack: So. I want to hear the whole story, starting with the explosion. But right now, I will settle for, what are your plans?
Adam: Everyone keeps asking me that.
Jack: Well, can you blame them? Your sudden appearance has set off shock waves. So, you're back. What's next?
Nate: So, you're the chef now?
Abby: [ Scoffs ] Are you kidding me? I can barely boil water.
Nate: So what's all this?
Abby: The bartender is running late, so I am prepping his garnishes. What can I get you?
Nate: Uh, nothing. I just wanted to see how you were doing.
Abby: I am great. Just super.
Nate: Really?
Abby: Yeah. Lola told me that my cheating ex has moved to miami with his pregnant lover. Goodbye and good riddance! If that's not reason to celebrate, I don't know what is.
Nate: If you say so.
Abby: I say so.
Nate: Although I was actually asking about what's going on with your family.
Abby: Oh. Um... you know what, I am, heh, totally fine. Why wouldn't I be? Just because my dead brother just showed up, and then gets shot by some unknown assailant. But luckily for him...
[ Chopping aggressively ] ...He'll be fine, because he's your patient, leaving the rest of us to wonder the kind of havoc that he is going to wreak on all of us. And my dad [Laughs] Well, he is furious with the rest of the family for even wondering if he will screw with us the way that he di-- ow!
[ Sighs ]
[ Sighs ]
Jack: So, have you made any real decisions? How long you're gonna stay in town?
Adam: Victor wants me to stick around.
Jack: Oh, I'll bet he does.
Adam: Mm. He's been talking about all the plans he has for me.
Jack: I'm sure he has.
Jack: Hey. He's overjoyed to have you back in his life.
Jack: If for no other reason than the fact that he gets to right the wrongs he did to you, which were legion. Now, how he goes about that, and whether or not his efforts are in your best interests...
Adam: I've been pondering that very thing.
Jack: And?
Adam: [ Quietly ] And i believe you might be the one person who can help me figure out what's going on.

[ Keys clacking ]
So, I searched the apartment looking for clues.
Velma: Did you find any?
Nothing that would lead me to the locket. But I did find something. I found this.
Velma: "Got a light?"
[ Huffs ] Well, that's odd.
Yeah. I felt like it was left there for me to find it. All right. What are you doing?
[ Laughs ] Let's see. Ahh! See? It's that special kind of ink -- the kind you can only see when it's hot. And there's an address there, too. I have a hunch you're gonna want to visit.
Velma, you're a genius!
Velma: [ Laughs ]
Dina: Help! Help me, somebody, please! Please!
Traci: Mother! Mother, what's wrong?
Dina: [ Whimpers ] I was looking for the bathroom, and... I couldn't find it.
[ Crying ] And I don't know where I am.
Traci: Okay.
Dina: I just don't know where I am.
[ Babbling ]
Traci: Okay. You're home. You're safe.
Dina: This is not my home! This is not my home!
Traci: You're gonna be all right.
Dina: It's not my home! I-I'm lost. I just...
Traci: Okay. Here, let me help you. Let me help you.
Dina: [ Muttering angrily ] Stay away from me!
Traci: Okay. Okay.
Dina: Just stay away from me. I -- I --
[ Crying ] I don't know where I am. I'm lost. I just don't know.
Traci: Don't worry. I'm not gonna touch you. Everything will be all right.
Dina: Oh, I just...
[ Sobs ] I...
[ Cries ] I just want to go home. I do. I just don't know where I am or anything about it.
Adam: Victor was all about bringing me home, making sure i got my memory back. Once we hit genoa city, three guesses where our first stop was.
Jack: Uh, newman enterprises?
Adam: Bingo.
Jack: Victor is nothing if not predictable.
Adam: Why the urgency to have me back at the family business? Is he that disappointed with his other kids?
Jack: As I'm sure you remember, they never quite live up to his expectations.
Adam: Mm. Which are unrealistic.
Jack: To say the least.
Adam: [ Sighs ] In other words, nothing's changed.
Jack: Well, I wouldn't go that far. You know, victor and nicholas had quite the falling out, and nicholas went ahead and started his own company.
Adam: Dark horse.
Jack: They're in a somewhat better place now, but nicholas swears he's never working at newman again. Abby felt undervalued there, and she went and charted her own course.
Adam: Society.
Jack: That's her baby.
Adam: From what little time i spent there, it seemed like she did a great job.
Jack: Oh, it's spectacular. It has, uh, made quite a splash on the social scene.
Adam: And then there's victoria.
Jack: Victoria and victor have their issues, but she is ever-faithful to that family company. She loves it every bit as much as victor. And for that, for all her hard work, he's just as quick to dismiss her as he is to compliment her.
Adam: Mm. Intermittent positive reinforcement. Dad's the master at it. No matter how bad the abuse gets, he keeps you coming back for more.
Jack: If I had to guess, I would say he's looking at you to be the golden child, the heir apparent.
Adam: Or someone to pit against victoria. Sit back and enjoy the show.
Jack: Wait, wait, wait, wait. As your friend and occasional mentor, I suggest you not get caught up in that chaos again. You have a chance to start a new life. Grab on to that. That's what I'd do if I were you.
Adam: I appreciate that, jack. But my eyes are wide open.
Jack: And that's all you're gonna say?
Adam: For now.
Jack: Okay. You don't want to tell me more. That's fine -- for now. For now, I'm happy to have my friend back.
Adam: Means a lot to me, too. Knowing there's someone in this burg who's got my back.
Jack: Always.
Adam: It's a welcome change. After being barraged with all of the horrible things I did in the past. First in a series of excruciating encounters with people who wish I'd disappear again, then in the memories that have come flooding back.
Jack: Yeah, about that. Um, I have to ask, between you and me -- the memory, the amnesia...?
Adam: I swear it was real.
Jack: Okay.
[ Cellphone rings ] Oh. Hold on. It's my sister traci. I got to take this, all right? Hey, trace.
Traci: Jack, please, you've got to come home right away. It's mother.
[ Dina whimpering ] Oh! It's bad. This time it is really, really bad.
Jack: I-I'm on my way. Uh, listen, I, uh -- I have to cut this short. I got a situation to deal with at home.
Adam: I hope everything will be all right.
Jack: Yeah, so do I. It is great to see you, my friend. I'll be in touch.
Adam: I look forward to it.
Jack: Paul.
Paul: Hey, jack. How you doing?
Jack: Yeah.
Paul: Good to see you.
Adam: Chief williams. You here with news?
Paul: Well, I have an update on the person who shot you.
Nate: Do not get this wet.
Abby: Got it. So, what's my prognosis, dr. Hastings?
Nate: The cut was a bit deep. But I predict a full recovery.
Abby: [ Chuckles ] Thank goodness.
Nate: Although I would stay away from knives if I were you.
Abby: Duly noted.
Nate: There. Uh... good as new.
Abby: Thank you.
Nate: You're very welcome.
Abby: And, uh, not just for bandaging me up, but also for stopping by to check on me. It was very sweet.
Nate: Oh, sweet's my middle name. Okay. Okay, it's not.
Abby: [ Laughs ]
Nate: Actually, it's oliver.
Abby: Well, I won't tell if you won'T. Seriously. Thank you so much for the care and concern.
Nate: Yeah.
Abby: It means a lot.
Nate: I know you've been going through a lot lately.
Abby: Yeah. You know, I-I didn't mean to sound heartless about adam.
Nate: [ Scoffs ] What about arturo?
Abby: Him? Yes.
Nate: Okay. I'd say you're entitled.
Abby: I'm very happy that adam is back and that he's alive and that he's gonna be okay. I mean, he is, right?
Nate: Uh, as far as I can tell.
Abby: It really is a miracle. I mean, half an inch in either direction... I mean, that bullet could have taken out a major organ.
Nate: Yeah. Less than that. Millimeters.
Abby: It's just, with adam...
[ Sighs ] There's history. Baggage. Like, major baggage. Like a whole luggage store.
Nate: Okay. Okay, I get the picture.
Abby: But [Sighs] The fact that adam's back, it just -- it has my head spinning.
Nate: Yeah, I can see why.
Abby: I hope you'll understand if I don't really want to get into all that right now.
Nate: I do. And I won't pry.
Abby: Not your style?
Nate: Not so much. [ Sighs ] Just know, if you ever need a friend, I'm here.
Abby: Are we friends?
Nate: Yeah. I think we are.
David: It's been years since I had to think about any of this. No need to interview for a job in the prison laundry or peeling potatoes.
Cane: Okay, listen, no one's expecting you to be letter-perfect, okay? They know your interview skills are rusty. So just go in there, relax, smile, and just be sincere. That's all you got to do.
David: Sincere.
Cane: Sincere. Okay? And ask questions. Listen to the job hiring manager, okay, and then ask them some questions. You know, that way, they think you're interested.
David: Makes sense.
Cane: Okay? And let them know why you want to be part of this particular company, all right, and what you can bring to the team -- you know, that you're hardworking, that you're enthusiastic, that you have an attention to detail, all right? 'Cause what you want to do is play up your strengths, okay?
David: What should I say if they ask me about my past? How I wound up in prison?
Cane: Sure. Just be honest and be direct. Okay? But you got to make sure they understand that what you want is a fresh start. Listen, these guys know that you served time inside, and what they want to do now is just give you a second chance.Pyou got it?
David: I'll keep that in mind. I need to make a good impression.
Cane: Yeah.
David: Because when it comes right down to it, I need this job.
Cane: Hey, that is why we are here.
David: [ Exhales softly ] I promised my family that my days of robbing houses and stealing cars are over. I don't want to do anything that's gonna take me away from them ever again. It was torture. Being apart from my wife and kids...
Cane: Yeah. Mate, I completely understand. You know what, there is no more powerful motivation that proving yourself to the people that you love. Okay.
David: Whoa. I need to leave. I don't want to be late for my interview.
Cane: All right, listen. Good luck, all right? You got this. Let me know how it goes, all right?
David: Hey, thank you. Thank you for all your help.
Cane: Hey, it's my pleasure.
[ Sighs ]
Dina: [ Crying ]
Jack: What happened?
Traci: Jack, she came wandering in here, completely disheveled. She was absolutely hysterical about not being able to find the bathroom.
Jack: Oh, god.
Traci: She was terrified. She -- she didn't know where she was. She said that this was not her home. And then, uh, she just lashed out, verbally and physically.
Jack: What do you mean, physically?
Traci: Well -- well, i reached out to try to comfort her, and she smacked my hands away, and then she started yelling at me. Jack, sometimes she has been agitated, but she has never been aggressive like this.
Jack: Okay. Have you approached her since you talked to me on the phone?
Traci: No. I did not think that made much sense considering her reaction. I-I thought maybe you could get through to her.
Jack: It's okay. It's okay.
Traci: Please try.
Jack: It's okay.
Jack: Dina? Dina?
Dina: Do I know you?
Jack: Yes, we're family.
Dina: Oh!
Jack: And we're here to help.
Dina: [ Cries ] Oh, I'm so scared!
Jack: Well, tell -- wait. Tell me what you're scared of.
Dina: I-I -- I don't know. I don't know where I am. I can't remember anything.
Jack: Okay, okay. Okay. Everything's gonna be all right.
[ Dina crying ] Everything's gonna be okay.
Adam: You got him? The shooter?
Paul: We arrested a man that claimed to have shot you. He turned himself in this morning.
Adam: What?
Paul: Yeah, he walked right in the station and confessed.
Adam: That's -- that's incredible.
Paul: Yeah, it is incredible. And as you suspected, he is from vegas. Um... do you recognize him?
Adam: I do.
Paul: How do you know him?
Adam: I, um... I took home a lot of his cash over the course of several poker games. That guy was a real piece of work -- rude, nasty. Hated my guts.
Paul: Well, he admitted to tracking you down so he could make you pay for wiping him out.
Adam: [ Sighs ] What a relief. Knowing that lunatic's in custody. I'm glad it's over.
Paul: I never said it was over.
Abby: There. Close enough for jazz. If he needs to cut more later, he'll have to do it himself.
Nate: Tell him you have a doctor's note -- no sharp objects for the duration.
Abby: Are you my doctor now, too?
Nate: Okay, I won't press my luck. Friends is enough of a milestone for one day.
Abby: Now you're teasing me.
Nate: I would never.
Abby: [ Laughs ] Are you sure I can't get you anything else besides water? It's on the house.
Nate: Thanks, but no. Break time is over. I need to get back to work.
Abby: I feel like I ought to do something. I owe you for the way you took care of me.
Nate: It was nothing. Forget it. All right? I'll see you later. Okay?
Abby: Okay. Wait. [ Sighs ] Would you like to go to dinner sometime?
Nate: Are you asking me out?
Abby: What?! Like on a date? No. No, this is just --
Nate: A dinner?
Abby: Right. Between friends. Okay? A-a -- a simple I.O.U. This falls into that category. Okay? So what do you say?
Nate: I say yes.
Paul: Too much of this story doesn't make sense.
Adam: What do you mean?
Paul: A guy flies halfway across the country to shoot you in cold blood, carefully avoiding victor's security team and surveillance cameras. Only to turn himself in the very next day. My question is, why?
Adam: Maybe he couldn't handle the guilt. Or maybe he freaked out knowing the police and victor newman's crew were gonna hunt him down until he got caught.
Paul: Yeah, or maybe he was paid and coerced into confessing to cover the truth.
Adam: By whom?
Paul: [ Sighs ] That's a shame, adam. I was hoping you could help me with that one. It's interesting that you claim you didn't even catch a glimpse of the shooter.
Adam: What are you saying? That I orchestrated some plot from my hospital bed? Why would I want to protect the person who tried to kill me?
Paul: I don't know, adam. But from my experience -- and i got to tell you that it's substantial -- attempted-murder cases don't resolve themselves this easily.
Adam: Listen, given my past, I can understand why you'd have reason to be suspicious. But this time, you're wrong. Every so often, even when I'm involved, things are exactly as they appear.
Jack: I got her into her bed, waited till she fell asleep.
Traci: Good. I'm sure that's what's best for her right now.
Jack: Is it me or does this whole thing seem sudden to you? I just... she was doing fine. She was hanging in there. And these last few weeks, there's been a significant turn for the worse.
Traci: It's -- it's alzheimer'S. It's such a degenerative disease that these plateaus just can't last forever.
Traci: Jack, I think it might be time for us to revisit the idea of moving dina into a memory-care facility.
Jack: Wait, wait, wait. No, no. No. No. We have discussed this. We decided as a family we would keep her in this home as long as we could.
Traci: I know. And it kills me. But I don't think this is the best place for her anymore. Jack, we can't go on this way. She's confused more often than not. And -- and her behavior is so erratic. And she has these terrible moments when she's shut down and disconnected. You know what the doctor said about that.
Jack: As this disease progresses, we're gonna have more and more of these episodes. Yeah.
Traci: Yes. I'm not sure that this is safe for her anymore.
Jack: Not safe?
Traci: Jack... there are people with her all the time. She has private nursing staff around the clock. And with all the precautions we've all taken, she managed to slip away not too long ago. She ended up at jabot. And -- and thank god summer was there, and she and kyle could bring our mother home safe, but... what if it happens again, jack, and we aren't so lucky? What if her aggressive behavior escalates, and she becomes dangerous? What if dina harms herself, or worse --
Jack: I can't deny anything you're saying. I just thought we could handle this. I promised myself she would spend her last days in this home.
Traci: I wanted that, too. I did. With all my heart, jack. I just don't think we can give her what she needs anymore.
Jack: You're right. You're right. It's time.
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Paul: Adam, you are one lucky guy -- back from the grave against all odds, free from all the old charges thanks to your old man, victor, calling in favors. And that lowlife who supposedly shot you serves himself up on a silver platter.
Adam: You're right. I am extremely fortunate.
Paul: Still, as a gambler, you have to know that everyone's winning streak comes to an end sooner or later.
Adam: Thanks for telling me about the arrest. Will there be anything else?
Paul: Well, I'm sure I'll have some more follow-up questions later on. I expect you to make yourself available.
Adam: Of course. Happy to cooperate.
Nate: Sorry to interrupt.
[ Sighs ] I need to check on my patient.
Paul: It's all right, nate. He's all yours. I was just leaving.
Jack: We're gonna have to call ashley, let her know what's going on.
Traci: Good. Yes, good. Um... I'm sure that once she hears everything, she'll understand, and I'm sure she'll agree. About a year ago, when you were talking about this the first time, ashley did a lot of research on memory-care facilities in the area. And all the information she gathered is in the credenza in your study.
Jack: Yeah. We'll review that. I do think we should go back to that place that ashley and I checked out. It was pretty impressive.
Traci: Yes, I remember you telling me about it.
Jack: Of course, there might be something else local that'd be just as good. We want to have the best option. We want to meet with the medical staff, try to meet the nurses and caregivers and...
Traci: I'll do everything I can to help, jack.
[ Doorbell rings ] I'll get it. Cane!
Cane: Hey. Hey.
Traci: Come in, come in.
[ Exhales ] What can I do for you?
Cane: Uh, well, you said you wanted me to tell you how my first day of work went. But, uh, it looks like I've come at a bad time, so I'll --
Traci: It's -- it's my mother. I'm so sorry. I-I think we might have to have our talk a little later.
Cane: That's okay. I understand.
Jack: Y-you know what, traci has been through the wringer. Go -- go for a walk. Go.
Traci: Jack, I don't think so. I don't feel comfortable. We have so many things to discuss.
Jack: Nothing we can't deal with later. Cane, do me a favor -- get my sister some fresh air, will you?
Cane: Sure. Okay. Um... I think you'd better come with me now, or I'll get in trouble from your big brother.
Traci: [ Chuckles ] Okay. A-a short walk. I promise I won't be long.
Jack: Take your time. I'll be here.
Adam: How's it looking, doc?
Nate: Wound is healing well. No signs of infection.
Adam: That mean I can get out of here soon?
Nate: How would today grab you?
Adam: Are you serious? I'm free to go?
Nate: As soon as the paperwork's processed.
Adam: [ Sighs ] Hallelujah.
[ Grunts ] No offense, doc, but hospitals -- not my fave.
Nate: Before you get all riled up, I have some instructions for you.
Adam: Got it. Yeah. Okay. Get plenty of rest, take it easy, don't lift anything heavy, eat all your vegetables.
Nate: That'll do for a start. I've written you some, uh, prescriptions. Take them as directed. Finish them all. Don't stop in the middle of the bottle.
Adam: Mm.
Nate: Feel free to contact me if you have any issues or concerns.
Adam: Got it.
Nate: You have any questions?
Adam: Just one. I hear you cut off my clothes in the E.R., And this gown is a bit breezy. Any chance you have some scrubs I could borrow?
Nate: Sure. But wouldn't you rather have someone from the ranch bring you clothes when they come to take you home?
Adam: I'll arrange for my own ride. I want to get out of here as soon as humanly possible. I've got business to attend to. It cannot wait.
Adam: [ Grunts ]
Cane: It must be hard seeing your mom deteriorate like that.
Traci: This brilliant woman, she's disappearing bit by bit.
Cane: Mm-hmm. Yeah, dina mergeron was a force to be reckoned with for decades, eh?
Traci: That she was. And [Sighs] Not only at work. I mean, people called her willful and selfish, and -- and I suppose that's fair to some extent. But she's also the most determined person I have ever known.
Cane: Never met an obstacle she didn't like?
Traci: [ Chuckles ]
Cane: [ Chuckles ]
Traci: That's right. There was no -- wait. The bigger the challenge, the better. And now [Sighs] Jack and ashley and I have our own challenge to face. We've got to find a facility for her where she feels like it's ome, but where she gets to have the care that she needs. And, cane, I just can't wrap my mind around the reality that we can't even care for our own mother. I mean, heh, we have to do what's best for her, and... I'm so sorry. [ Chuckles ] I'm rambling on.
Cane: No, you're not rambling at all. You're not rambling.
Traci: You came to see me to tell me how your first day went.
Cane: No, no. I don't want to talk about me. I want to talk about you.
Traci: No. I would love to have something else to think about. Please.
Cane: Uh, okay. Um... today, I think I made a difference.
Traci: Well, tell me more.
[ Chuckles ]
Cane: Well, the guy I met with -- well, after he left, I felt like I kind of made him feel more confident about himself.
Traci: You sound surprised.
Cane: Yeah, I kind of am.
Traci: What? [ Laughs ] Well, I'm not. I knew that you were more than capable of mixing things up with your career, and -- and I'm so impressed about your resolve to do something more meaningful with your life.
Cane: Yeah. I've still got a long way to go before I can be the man I want to be, you know? I'm nowhere near your league.
Traci: What?
[ Laughs ] You sound like I'm some sort of saint.
Cane: Well, if the halo fits.
Traci: Oh, stop! Cane, I'm just an ordinary person, just trying to find my way like everybody else.
Cane: You know, you are one of the most caring and kind people that I have ever met. You're always looking out for your friends and your family. And you're strong for everyone else. No matter what you're going through. Hey, traci. You are a remarkable woman. Traci... traci? Traci. Hey. Hey, where'd you go?
Traci: Oh! Uh... uh, I think I have to go.
Cane: Hey --
Traci: No, no. I -- sorry.
Cane: I'll walk back with you. No, it's okay.
Traci: No. Please, please. You don't have to. Uh, jack's got so much on his shoulders. I really just -- I have to go.
[ Sobs ]
Cane: Hey! All right. I'll see you soon, okay?
Adam: [ Groans ]
David: Thanks for meeting me again.
Cane: Hey. So, how'd the interview go?
David: You're not gonna believe this. I got the job.
Cane: Oh! That is fantastic. Congratulations.
David: Thanks. I did everything you said -- asked lots of questions, talked real positive about things. I wouldn't have thought to do all that without your advice.
Cane: Mate, listen, all I did was give you a little bit of coaching, all right? You did all the work. You walked in there and you made it happen, and I could not be happier for you.
David: Thank you.
Cane: Good.
Traci: [ Sighs ]
Jack: Hey. I didn't expect you back so soon.
Traci: Oh.
Jack: Fresh air do you good?
Traci: Absolutely.

Adam: Sorry, pop. I'm about to let you down.
