Lily: I'm being released sooner than we thought. That's why I sent the divorce papers.

Lola: I love you.

Summer: What we have is real, and I'm not gonna let anyone come between us.

Arturo: I messed up. What happened with mia meant absolutely nothing to me.

Abby: So you threw away what we had for no reason. I want to open a restaurant. Can you believe it's all coming together?

Devon: You have a lot to be proud of.

Abby: I think i may have found my calling.

Abby: Yes. Yes, but -- okay, no. I am aware. But perhaps you -- okay, maybe I have not made myself abundantly clear, but my restaurant opens in -- oh, that software? Yeah, the one that you sold me? The one that you said was gonna be cutting-edge, groundbreaking technology is nothing more than one big glitch! Oh! [ Laughs angrily ] Oh, I am so done with you, marco, and your promises. Let me tell you what you need to do now, if not sooner --

Lola: [ Clears throat ] Hi.

Abby: Oh, really? You think that's gonna fix the problem? Mm-hmm. Well, it better.

Lola: Um, tessa?

Tessa: Yeah?

Lola: Can you keep a secret?

Lola: I can't do this.

Lola: And the proteins were supposed to arrive this morning, but apparently there's some apocalyptic-sized traffic backup on the highway, and the driver can't even give me an eta. You know there's gonna be, uh, critics, bloggers, my friends, my family, and I have nothing to feed them.

Tessa: Okay. Uh, okay. D-does abby know?

Lola: I tried to tell her, but her hands are full.

Tessa: Well, don't worry. She has faith in you.

Lola: Yeah, that's why I'm worried. Because if the delivery doesn't arrive, I have nothing to serve.

Summer: Heh... hi. Hey, I was wondering if you were downstairs.

Kyle: Hey. Yeah. Just...relaxing.

Summer: Am I, uh, interrupting anything?

Kyle: Not a thing.

Cane: Yeah, I have the place, uh, to myself at the moment. Uh, mattie and charlie went to the prison for lily's release, and then she's coming home alone.

[ Sighs ] Uh... no. Really, I'm not sure. I mean, part of me is a nervous wreck, and the other part's, uh, just kind of numb. I mean, traci, this is my final chance.

Lily: Uh, to get ready for abby and devon's opening of their restaurant. I'm gonna pack a few things and then...say goodbye.

Cane: [ Snorts softly ] So that's it, huh? So it's goodbye?

Lily: I'm gonna meet my dad and mattie and charlie at the opening.

Cane: Okay. And then what are you gonna do after that?

Lily: And then I'm gone.

Cane: Okay. So, uh... so you're just trying to say that I don't -- I don't get a say in this? Is that what you're saying?

Lily: Did I get a say when you cheated on me and lied to me?

Cane: We can work this out if you just --

Lily: Cane, I don't -- I don't want to. I am so tired of worrying about you and wondering what's true. I just... [ Inhales deeply ] I don't want to do that anymore, you know? Life is too short.

Cane: I know it's short. I do.

Lily: You know, I mean, you had one job.

[ Scoffs ] One job. To protect this family. And...

[ Groans ] Oh, god. I said [Sighs] I'm not gonna let things devolve. I'm not going to.

Lily: [ Huffs ]

Cane: Please.

Lily: You have to let me go.

Cane: I don't know how I'm gonna do that. I mean, you're part of me. How -- how do I say goodbye to you?

Lily: Look, all of this, I -- I don't --

Cane: All right, look, when you walked in here, I didn't expect you just to look at me and forgive me. I didn't, all right? But we can start. We have to start somewhere, don't we?

Lily: [ Sighs ] Cane, I-I -- I can't do this.

Cane: Okay, but, you know, those women in prison that you taught, I mean, they did worse things than I did, and you found it in yourself to give them a chance.

Lily: It's not the same thing.

Cane: I know... I am not a perfect man. And I know -- I know I need to change. And I am dedicating myself to it. To be a better father and a better husband.

Lily: I can't do this.

Cane: Just give me a few minutes, okay? And if you don't like what i have to say... I'll find a way to let you go.

Summer: All right. We should start getting ready soon.

Kyle: For what? [ Sighs ]

Ummer: For abby's big night. The opening of society.

Kyle: Eh... what if we just didn't go?

Kyle: It wouldn't kill us.

Summer: No, but abby would.

Kyle: But it's not just abby's restaurant.

Summer: No, devon's her partner.

Kyle: And lola's the chef. After last week, I don't know, things might be...awkward.

[ Sighs ]

Summer: Okay. And do you know the best way to avoid things being awkward? Repeated exposure. The more that we see her, the less weird things will be.

Kyle: But if we stay here...

Summer: I am done recuperating from surgery. Do you want me to get bed sores?

Kyle: So we go out.

Kyle: And catch a movie.

Summer: Really? We're gonna stay in the dark and not talk for two hours?

Kyle: Oh, that would be a record for you.

Kyle: [ Chuckles ]

Summer: Hey, I am an abbott now, and this is our first big night out as a couple, and I want to do couple things.

Kyle: Okay, fine. Fine. But do we have to do them at that particular restaurant?

Summer: Yes! Yes, we do. This is for family. And we support family.

Kyle: [ Scoffs ]

Summer: And, also, the best part is, you get to show me off to the world.

Kyle: Mm-hmm.

Summer: Mm-hmm. Come on.

Arturo: I, uh, came to congratulate my sister.

[ Abby sighs ] It's a big night for her. And you, too, of course.

Abby: Amazing, right?

Arturo: Yeah. Yeah, it looks like it's all coming together.

Abby: Well, looks can be deceiving.

Arturo: What do you mean?

Abby: What I mean is, um... look, it was good to talk yesterday. But it was all surface. Nothing got solved. And mia showing up here was just an ugly reminder of the hold that she has over you.

Arturo: Well, then, let's talk more. I mean somewhere private.

Abby: [ Scoffs ] Do you really think that now is the time or the place?

Arturo: No. No, I don'T. But --

Abby: I have been putting out fires since early this morning.

Arturo: That guy on the phone -- he the arsonist?

Abby: You could say that, yeah. His software is supposed to be the glue that holds this place together, and it's done nothing but fall apart.

Arturo: Wait. This is the same software that we researched?

Abby: Same one, yeah.

Arturo: We even met with the guy. I thought he was good.

Abby: He was. But currently I am not impressed.

Arturo: Okay, well, I -- I'm not gonna hold you back. Go give him hell.

[ Cellphone rings ] Ugh. It's marco. I-I got to... marco. No, no. I am still waiting. No, time is running out, and my patience is getting very thin.

Lola: No, no, no, no, no. Where did these boxes come from?!

Tessa: I don't know. They just arrived here. But it's food, right?

Lola: Pineapples and star fruit? They're supposed to be live prawns and lobsters!

Arturo: Hey, hey, hey. How's my favorite chef doing?

Lola: Oh, I'm a couple of hours away from tanking a restaurant.

Arturo: Oh, come on. It can't be that bad. Look at this.

Lola: Arturo, I have no food.

Arturo: So what is this?

Lola: Fruit. That I did not order.

Arturo: So give me a list of what you did order, a-and a couple of waiters with cars.

Lola: There is absolutely no time, okay? Nothing short of a miracle is going to save us tonight.

Tessa: Okay. Just breathe.

[ Inhales deeply ] In, out --

Lola: Tessa, now is not the time for yoga!

Tessa: Just shut up and breathe, okay?! In! [ Inhales deeply ] Out! Okay? [ Breathing deeply ] Yep. Just like that. Okay? Oxygen. It's good for the body, good for the brain. And what we need right now is that big, beautiful brain that created la vida lola.

Arturo: Yes. You've run out of ingredients before.

Lola: On a food truck. This is an upscale restaurant. There's nothing I can do. And abby, she --

Arturo: Abby hired you because she believes in you.

Tessa: She knows that you are the best person for this job.

Arturo: So dig deep and get it done, rosales.

Lola: [ Grunts angrily ]

Arturo: Hey, hey, hey! You know how to improvise. Lola, you've done it your whole life. You just need to do it on a larger scale tonight.

Tessa: You are motivated and passionate, and you have an incredible palate.

Arturo: And, the most important thing -- what is your name?

Lola: Lola. Rosales.

Arturo: Who?

Lola: Rosales!

Arturo: And when do we give up?

Lola: Never.

Arturo: When do we give in?

Lola: Not gonna happen.

Arturo: When do we give our best?

Lola: Always.

Arturo: So get it done, woman. The world is waiting.

Lola: But abby?

Arturo: Abby has a lot to deal with. Tessa, please get her whatever she needs to get this done.

Tessa: On it.

Lola: Okay, and what about you?

Arturo: I will figure out what I can do on my side of things.

Lola: With abby? She hates you, you know.

Arturo: She's got a good reason to.

Lola: So do I.

Arturo: I know. But I got your back anyways. I love you with all my life. You got this. You got this. Let's go.

Lola: Whew... biggest night in gc. Anything can happen, and it has.

Tessa: Well, let's show them what you're made of.

Lola: [ Sighs heavily ]

Abby: I'm downloading the patch now. You better not fail me, marco, because if you do, I will let everybody on social media know about your company and its empty promises. So do not disappoint me. Good.

Abby: Depends.

We got a problem with your fire alarm.

Abby: What kind of problem?

[ Alarm blares ] Oh, my gosh! Make it stop! Ugh!

[ Alarm stops ]

Yeah. [ Sighs ] That's gonna happen every once in a while.

Abby: All night? No, no, no. How -- how do you plan on fixing it?

I won't have the part in stock for another three days.

Abby: No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. Three days? I don't have three days! I barely have three hours. So how are you gonna fix this? Do something!

Arturo: Look --

Abby: What, what, what?! What do you want me to do, postpone my event, my whole opening?!

Lady, I can't tell you what to do.

Abby: [ Huffs ]

Arturo: Look, abby, you have a lot to deal with. Let me handle this.

Abby: Yeah. Sure. He's all yours.

Arturo: Arturo rosales. Look, I do construction, all right, and one thing I've learned is that two motivated people can always work out a solution. No matter how complicated or rocky things may seem at first, right? Let's take a walk.

[ Alarm blares ]

Kyle: [ Grunts ]

[ Chuckles ] Hey, hey. Oh. Hungry?

Summer: Famished.

Kyle: Heh. Better head to that restaurant and get some food in you pronto.

Summer: I'm not that kind of hungry.

Kyle: Uh... a couple minutes ago, you were trying to rush us out of here.

Summer: Yeah, well, we can find the time.

Kyle: I was thinking, if we go early, we can help them out. Extra hands on deck.

Summer: I'm sure that abby and lola have everything running like clockwork.

Kyle: Won't know until we get there. I'll jump in the shower.

Summer: Okay.

[ Gasps ] Oh, my god. I love it already.

Cane: You know, I've been talking to someone about, um... you know, getting advice and thoughts on how I can make sure I don't make the same mess like I did in the past. Now I can be better, moving forward, for you.

Lily: That's good. I hope you got some clarity.

Cane: Yeah, yeah. It was just -- what's clear to me now, though, is, you know, before, when you said we were through, I just -- I got defensive. I got defensive with you, and i just -- I thought I could apologize and just say "sorry" for how I've -- how I've hurt you in the past.

Lily: Yeah, sometimes saying "I'm sorry" isn't enough.

Cane: Yeah, I know. Just... it's like, bef-before, when you said to me that you wanted to change directions, and you wanted to go in a completely other, different path. I challenged you on that, and I shouldn't have done that. I should have just supported you. I'm sorry.

Lily: Cane, the choices that I've made are about me. They have nothing to do with you.

Cane: No, but they do, because we're a team. We're a team, baby, and I let us down. You know? And... look. [ Sighs ] I've been focusing on why our marriage fell apart, and the thing is, I've always defined myself by how successful I was instead of how good I was as a husband and a father.

Lily: I don't think sleeping with juliet or making out with victoria has anything to do with you trying to be the next warren buffett.

Cane: Yeah.

Lily: And I don't think lying until you get caught is one of the seven habits of highly successful people.

Cane: I know this. I do. But, you see, it's like they're connected -- you know, the lying and the cheating and the wanting just to -- to have it all. And, look, I've justified the things I've done. I've made mistakes. But when I came and saw you in prison on our last visit, it's like everything just made sense to me all of a sudden, and... I saw how my actions have hurt you. And I saw how selfish I've been. And I want to let you know that... that I can change. Unless you don't think I can change.

Lily: No, I didn't say that. I think that there are some people that are capable of great change.

Cane: I've decided to re-dedicate my life to what's important. Which is you and the kids.

Lily: Cane, I'm sorry, but there's nothing that you can say that will make a difference.

Cane: I gave jill my notice.

Lily: You're leaving chancellor?

Cane: Yeah. Because I want to find out what it is that I'm meant to do. You know, I want it to be something worthwhile. Something that's gonna mean something. And I'm telling you, if -- if you stay by my side and we walk down this path together, sweetheart, we can do amazing things.

Lily: And you're really committed to doing that?

Cane: I can be the man you need. I can be the man that you married. All I need from you is a chance. Will you give us one more try?

Summer: All right. [ Sighs ] Which one?

Kyle: [ Sighs ] I like 'em both.

Summer: You didn't even look.

Kyle: I did. What do I know about dresses?

Summer: All right, well, you better start learning, 'cause jabot collective isn't gonna run itself. So let's start over.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Give me the pros of both.

Summer: All right. Well, this one hits me in all the right places, hugs all the right curves, and the color really makes my eyes pop. It's definitely a showstopper.

Kyle: And the other one?

Summer: This one and I are practically strangers. Never worn it. Don't even know how I feel about it.

Kyle: Got to wear it sometime.

Summer: Well, maybe if I had the right accessories. You know, like the perfect bracelet or something could really make it great.

Kyle: I'm sure you can find something in that jewelry box of yours. It's the size of a trunk.

Summer: I don't know. I think this one needs something special. Something understated yet refined. Classic.

Kyle: Hm. Who knows? Maybe one day the right piece will come along.

Summer: Maybe I'll find it tonight.

Kyle: Maybe. I'll let you finish. Meet me downstairs.

Summer: Okay. Oh, don't forget this.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Kyle: [ Sighs ]

Summer: All right. Close your eyes and get ready for my big entrance.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Let's see it.

Summer: Okay. So?

Summer: What do you think?

Summer: Thanks.

Kyle: But we better get going.

Summer: Okay.

Kyle: Uh, what is that?

Summer: Oh, this is just, uh, an opening-night gift for lola from the two of us. I already signed your name on the card.

Kyle: Y-you didn't have to do that.

Summer: Yeah, well, lola and I share a bond. You know, part of me will always be with her. Go ahead. Open it. What do you think?

Tessa: Somebody up there loves you, lola. We got protein. We got veg. You got ideas?

Lola: I've got a menu in my head.

Tessa: Okay, great. Well, then, we are three steps away from dinner. If you need help shucking, scrubbing, or peeling anything, I will send you as many hands as you need.

Lola: You have been so incredible, tessa.

Tessa: It's my pleasure. And a much-needed distraction.

Lola: From what?

Tessa: It's nothing.

Lola: Come on. You have been listening to me vent for, uh, how long now? It's your turn.

Tessa: Okay, well...

[ Sighs ] Last night, when mariah and i were in crimson lights, someone through a brick through the window.

Lola: Wait, what?

Tessa: Yeah. And it had a note attached threatening mariah.

Lola: Oh, my god. Tessa --

Tessa: I know. I know.

Lola: Okay, um... are there any suspects? Clues?

Tessa: Ugh. Not yet. But the police are working on it.

Lola: Okay. How's mariah?

Tessa: Pretending she's tough, unbreakable.

Lola: And you?

Tessa: Honestly, I kind of feel like I'm falling apart. If anything happened to her, i don't know what I would do.

Lola: It won't come to that. You're getting me through tonight. You're gonna get through this nightmare with mariah.

Abby: We need chairs at this table. And I want to make sure that the flatware and glasses are crystal clear -- no fingerprints or water marks.

[ Sighs ] Does everybody hear that? Silence. No, no, no, no! Let's get some music going. I want to make this night unforgettable.

[ Alarm blares ]

[ Groans ] Minor glitch! Minor glitch. It's being handled. I hope.

[ Alarm stops ]

Abby: What'd you do?

Arturo: I, uh... I worked something out with the technician. We came to an understanding.

Abby: What kind of understanding?

Arturo: He was making all this noise about not being able to get his hands on the right part, and I just made him realize that the right part was sitting at a building under construction a couple blocks away that he's working on. So he's gonna install the new one here, take this one there until the replacement arrives.

Abby: How'd you get him to listen?

Arturo: I may have told him i was gonna throw some work his way from future projects.

Abby: You'd do that for me?

Arturo: Actually, the -- the head chef here, lola rosales?

Abby: Ahh. Yeah, sounds familiar. Great reputation.

Arturo: It's my kid sister. Tonight's the night she's dreamed of and worked for all her life. Can't have it go lopsided.

Abby: Can't have that. No.

Abby: And if anyone else benefits from my bargaining skills, I'm glad I could help.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Abby: It's devon. I-I got to, um...

Arturo: Go ahead.

Abby: Devon. Hey, no, I was just gonna call you. Everything is great.

[ Chuckles ] So great. (Cat 1) friskies world...

Lily: I know this isn't easy for you. But you can't change months and years of hurt with one grand gesture and the right words.

Cane: If you just give us some time, we can.

Lily: We ran out of time. Long ago. The changes that you're making in your life, I think it's great -- you know, that you want to do things for others. It's -- it's admirable. But changing your life doesn't have to be about fixing us. I know that I want to live a life of meaning, you know? I want to... change the world. One person at a time.

Cane: You changed me.

Lily: That's sweet of you to say, but... I wasn't concerned with fixing a broken relationship. I just wanted to find a way to put it all behind me.

Cane: [ Scoffs ] Oh. Wow. Okay.

Lily: Was that too blunt?Y: Was that too blunt?

Cane: No. No, it's not blunt. I understand that you don't want to mince your words.

Lily: We can't go back and make things right. But even if we could [Sighs] I don't know if I would want to.

Cane: I just keep thinking, you know, if only I just --

Lily: No. We have to move forward. And just focus on being our best selves.

Cane: Yeah. Yeah.

Lily: I'm gonna go pack.

Abby: Society will definitely be the talk of the town. Oh, you know what, why don't you just wait? You don't need to rush. Just wait until it's full of people, exotic aromas...

[ Sighs ] Actually [Chuckles] On second thought, come by whenever you'd like. I will see you then.

[ Sighs ] And there was a blackout.

[ Chuckles ]

Arturo: That I fixed. And it won't happen again.

Abby: Thank you. You have been such a lifesaver.

Arturo: Glad I could help.

Abby: Hey, arturo, um, before you go...

[ Sighs ] You broke my heart, what you did with mia, and... I don't know if I can get past it, and I don't really know what I'm trying to say, but... thank you.

Arturo: All the best, abby.

Kyle: Abby! Heh.

Abby: Hey. What are you guys doing here already?

Kyle: Well, we thought you could use some extra hands.

Abby: We got it covered, but thank you.

Summer: Wow. Last tim I was here, it was a warehouse compared to now. Do you have time for a quick tour?

Abby: Um... yeah, a-a quick one. Come on.

Summer: Okay. Wow.

Abby: [ Chuckles ] So, what do you think?

Summer: Yeah, it's amazing.

Kyle: Shouldn't you be in the kitchen?

Lola: Kyle! You do not want to know the kind of night I have been having.

Kyle: I do. Every detail. I've been thinking about you all day. You have no idea how badly i want to kiss you.

Lola: How do you expect me to concentrate on work when you're talking to me like that?

Kyle: I might not get another chance to do this.

[ Gasps ] Oh!

Lily: Well [Sighs] I'm all packed.

Cane: You only have one suitcase.

Lily: Heh. Yeah. I don't think I'll need the designer dresses or expensive pumps anymore.

Cane: So, um... what's next?

Lily: Uh, I'm going to teach.

Cane: Wow. You're kidding. Where -- where are you gonna do that?

Lily: Uh, the warden was really impressed with my work, so he turned my volunteer job into a paying gig.

Cane: Well, I'm not surprised. You're probably the best thing that's ever happened to them.

Lily: We all learn from each other.

Cane: So that's -- that's where you're gonna be, is it? You're gonna be up at the prison?

Lily: Yeah. Full time.

Cane: I'm proud of you.

Lily: Thank you.

Cane: I mean, the kids are, too. Do they know about this?

Lily: Yeah. Um, they actually might be going to the state school nearby.

Cane: Okay. I mean, I thought mattie wanted to go to stanford like neil did. So...?

Lily: Yeah, ever since she could talk. And I always told her, "never let anyone stop you from living your dreams, even your parents."

Cane: Okay. You know, but she would have been the second generation of winters to go there.

Lily: Yeah. I mean, dad won't admit it, but I know he would love to show her around the campus and introduce her to alumni.

Cane: Yeah, yeah. I mean, that would mean a lot to both of them.

Lily: Yeah. He's crazy about those kids.

Cane: Yeah, they're wild about him.

Lily: Uh, well, I, um -- I should go to the opening. And then I'm gonna get back on the road.

Cane: Oh, hey, hey. Wait. Hang on a second. Wait. What, you're leaving tonight?

Lily: Yeah. That's -- that's the plan.

Cane: But then you'll be doing a round trip, and it's such a long drive. I mean...

Lily: Heh... actually, I mean, it was -- it was pretty nice being in a car again.

Cane: Yeah. I mean, but, listen, I'm just thinking, like, um... why don't you stay the night? You know, leave tomorrow. You can get some rest.

Lily: Cane, I-I told you, I can'T.

Cane: All right, listen, there's no ulterior motive in this for me. You know, I'm just thinking about you and your comfort. You know, 'cause I'm pretty sure you've missed your bed. You know, and that soft, thick carpet under your feet.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] And where will you be?

Cane: I'll be on the couch.

Lily: On the couch. Right. It's great for sitting, not for sleeping. So what's in it for you?

Cane: There's nothing in it for me. I mean, actually, I'm thinking about you and your comfort, because, you know, I just want you to have one last night here before you start your brand-new life without me.

Lily: That's very generous of you, but --

Cane: Listen, before you answer, there's one last thing. It's, uh -- it's kind of a favor.

Lily: Right. There's always a hook.

Cane: No, there's no hook here. I mean, this favor is -- it's not for me. It's for you. And if you do this for me, i promise you, it's, uh... it'll be the last thing I ever ask you.

Lily: I'm listening.

Abby: And we wanted to make the space around the bar really glow, so we had an artist come in and do the whole ceiling in gold leaf.

Summer: Oh, my gosh. I cannot believe how beautiful it looks in here.

Abby: It really is amazing how it's all come together.

Summer: It looks so good.

Abby: Ah! How does everything look?

Tessa: Okay. Tables are set. Flowers are in place. Morale is high, and everyone's ready for service.

Abby: [ Squeals ] Music to my ears! And the fuse box?

Arturo: Firing on all cylinders.

Abby: Oh! Thank you so much. You are the best.

Kyle: It took me a while to find just the right gift. Tasteful. Not too flashy or expensive.

Lola: It's perfect.

Kyle: You don't know how long I've waited to hear you say that.

Lola: Yeah, we haven't had much luck with presents before.

Kyle: I've turned a corner. Everything's different now. I know your heart by heart.

Lola: No making the chef cry.

Kyle: Hey, this is just a reminder that we'll be together soon.

Lola: If I make it through tonight.

Kyle: You will. One taste of your food, and you'll have a waiting list six months long.

Lola: [ Sighs ] I'll wait for you. Forever if I have to.

Kyle: Let's hope it's not that long.

[ Sighs ] I don't want to let go.

Summer: Congratulations, lola.

Cane: [ Sighs ] You see, it's gonna be a big night for devon, you know, and it means a lot for him if you show up with neil and the kids.

Lily: Right. Family is everything.

Cane: Yeah. You taught me that. All right, look, what I'm trying to say here is, it's your first night out of prison, you know, and if everything was normal, you'd be with me.

Lily: Well, nothing's been normal between us for a very long time.

Cane: Yeah. Yeah, well, see, the thing is, I mean, you know how people are, right? If I don't show up, people are going to talk, you know, or they're gonna make assumption. You know, 'cause you'll be the spotlight. Instead of, you know, devon and abby's accomplishments, they'll be saying, "hey, where's cane?" "Why aren't the ashbys together?" You know, and, uh, why are you coming alone when you're free?

Lily: Okay, what are you suggesting?

Cane: That we go together. One last time. And we celebrate devon, and we toast you and your freedom.

Lily: And what about our divorce?

Cane: Well, I mean, if anybody asks, really, it's none of their business, but we can tell them tomorrow. And tonight can just be about devon, and be about you. What do you say?

Summer: Thought that we were getting a tour from abby, and suddenly I look around and I'm a party of one.

Kyle: Uh --

Lola: We ran into each other. He wanted to wish me luck.

Summer: Thought we agreed that we were gonna do that together.

Kyle: It's not a big deal, is it?

Lola: I will take all of the luck I can get.

Summer: Well, it's a big night for you. Head chef of a hot new restaurant. You know, we almost didn't come.

Lola: Really? Why not?

Summer: Well, kyle had his heart set on a quiet night at home, just the two of us, but I wanted to bring you this.

Lola: [ Gasps ] You bought me a gift?

Summer: It's from both of us. We hope you like it.

Lola: You really shouldn't have.

Summer: No, we wanted to. It's from the bottom of our hearts. To new beginnings.

Abby: Everyone, I just wanted to say a few words before we open. Um, I know that we had a lot to get done today, but you all pitched in, and you gave this place your finest. Society is a labor of love, and this is just the beginning. Luckily, we have all of the ingredients to make this place an exceptional dining experience. We have a wonderful staff, great atmosphere, and a chef with fresh ideas. But recipes don't work unless you use your heart, and you are the heart of society. I know we had a lot of challenges today, and it didn't look like we were gonna overcome them [Laughs] But we did. Because of you. So, now that we've ironed out all of the wrinkles, it's time to finally meet our guests.

[ Laughs ] I declare society officially open.

[ Squeals ]

[ Staff applauding ]

Summer: Congratulations, lola.

Lola: Thanks.
