Episode #11592 ~ Jack's rivalry with Ashley heats up; Ana faces her fears; Victoria searches for Victor.

Provided By Suzanne

Previously on "the young and the restless"...

Jack: I will wire you $2 million of my own funds if you will give up my beauty collective.

Ashley: Four. Final offer.

Traci: Jack, why can't you just grow up and behave like an adult?

Jack: Because this is so much more fun.

Cane: If she has given up, then I will fight for both of us. I will win her back, and I will prove to her that I can be the man that she needs me to be.

Jett: So I just sang with the bad vocal cords until I completely lost my singing voice.

Elena: Feels like it's been about a million years since i went out with anyone.

Devon: I completely understand. And I didn't mean for it to sound like it was anything else except for just us going out and, like, getting coffee or something.

Billy: This is -- this is good.

Victoria: I just -- I thought we were gonna take things slow.

Billy: I'm sorry.

Victoria: No, it's okay. Don't be sorry. I just... I want to get it right, that's all.

Nikki: Oh! You have no idea how glad I am to see you.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I hope I didn't worry you too much.

Nikki: No. Mothers never worry anything about their children.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Mom, I'm sorry.

Nikki: Especially when they take off to las vegas for -- now, what did you call it? "A business meeting"?

Victoria: You were right.

Nikki: I do love it when you say that.

Victoria: Maybe I was trying to run away from my problems. A little.

Nikki: And how did that work out for you?

Victoria: Better than one might expect. I did what I always tell johnny to do when he has a bad dream. Sometimes you just have to face the monster.

Nikki: And J.T. Was yours.

Victoria: Once I stopped running and I found the courage to face my fears, I was able to put everything behind me, all of my worries, and move forward.

Nikki: Still, las vegas? That's not usually the place that people go to exorcise their demons.

Victoria: Yeah, well, believe it or not, billy was able to help me get past a lot of it.

Nikki: Wait a minutE. Billy was there?

Victoria: Yeah. Yeah, he tracked me down. We spent, actually, a lot of time together. It was nice.

Nikki: Oh. Well, does this mean what I think it might?

Victoria: Mom, it only means that he and I are on the same page. But from this point out, we're taking things slowly. Very, very slowly.

Billy: Amazing, isn't it?

Traci: It's so sudden.

Billy: It is. But when it's right, it's right.

Traci: Well, congratulations, honey.

Billy: Thank you. Thank you, traci. It's a good day.

Traci: It is a good day. I-I'm a little surprised that victoria's ready to move forward, though, considering everything that's happened.

Billy: Right. Well, you know victoria. She's the sensible one. She's cautious and measured.

Traci: Yes, and has every reason to be.

Billy: Especially getting mixed up with a guy like me?

Traci: [ Laughs ]

Billy: Is that what you're saying?

Traci: I didn't say that.

Billy: Come on. We balance each other out.

Traci: Yes.

Billy: She cools me down, and I bring out her wild side.

Traci: Oh, oh. Not too many details.

Billy: She's got that light in her eye again.

Traci: Oh.

Billy: And this time, I'm not gonna --

[ Knock on door ]

[ Clicks tongue ] I'll get that.

Traci: Okay.

Cane: [ Sighs ] Hey.

Billy: We don't want any.

Cane: Just open the door, will you?

Traci: Behave. Behave.

Billy: What are you trying to do, ruin my good mood?

Traci: [ Sighs ] I'm so sorry about that, cane.

Cane: It's okay.

Traci: Please, won't you come in?

Cane: Thanks.

Traci: And never mind billy.

Cane: No, it's -- it's good that he's here. I'm glad. 'Cause there's actually some things I want to say.

Billy: Oh, well, I would tell you where you can put those things you want to say, but there's a lady present.

Traci: [ Huffs ] Just hear him out, okay?

Billy: All right. If we start breaking the antiques, it's your fault.

Jett and ana: The reflections of my heart

they've been shadowed for a lifetime

undone

Jett: [ Chuckles ]

But since I met you, I've been changed

and I'll never be the same

I'm all yours

Devon: [ Clapping ] Hey. That was fantastic, guys.

Ana: [ Chuckles ] Always trust your fan club.

Jett: Mm, even if it is just a club of one.

Devon: Are you kidding me? Dude, I'm sure you have a ton of fans and admirers who are dying to hear you perform again.

Jett: Uh, I doubt that. This whole world's forgotten about me.

[ Chuckles ]

Devon: Please. You could never forget a voice like yours, really. And I will prove it to you if you let me sign you to lp.

Jett: Uh, thanks. But no. No way, no how.

Jack: [ Quietly ] Wow. Wow! This place is really coming together.

Abby: Ah! Well, wait until you see it up and running and in all its glory. Mm! The lights dimmed low, lola's amazing, exotic aromas floating in from the kitchen, beautiful music filling the air...

[ Laughs ]

Jack: I can barely wait.

Abby: All the pieces are falling into place. Can you believe it?

Jack: Yeah, I can believe it. I never doubted you for a minute.

Abby: It has "spectacular" written all over it.

Jack: I have an idea to launch your opening into the stratosphere.

Additional sponsorship

provided by...

Jack: What would you say to jabot collective launching its new line here in your place?

Abby: At this restaurant?

Jack: Yes, that's right. In conjunction with your opening. Don't shoot it down, just hear me out. We invite social-media influencers, models, special guests, all wearing our latest fashions. We shoot videos, get them online, bringing intrigue and interest to new customers for us, and bringing interest in your new place to you.

Abby: Phew... look, I-I got to say, I love the idea. It has huge potential. It would be good for the club --

Jack: But you're hesitating.

Abby: I'm sorry, uncle jack. Look, until you and my mother end this feud between my beauty and jabot, I -- I have to say no.

Jack: Abby, you wouldn't have to choose sides.

Abby: [ Scoffs ] If my mother found out that you were launching your new enterprise at my restaurant, she would see it as a total betrayal.

Jack: It is the perfect pairing.

Abby: It is, yes. But... no. Until you two end this feud, no. I'm not gonna get involved with either company.

Jack: You have to stay neutral.

Abby: [ Sighs ]

Jack: [ Inhales ] Okay. I respect that.

Abby: Thank you.

Jack: If I was in your position, I would probably make the same choice. I just... I want to make sure I still get an invite to your grand opening, though. One very proud, very hungry uncle, without an agenda in sight.

Abby: I wouldn't have it any other way.

Devon: Jett, we talked before about you making a comeback. What changed your mind?

Jett: [ Sighs ] Last time was just wishful thinking, man. I mean, come on. You heard my voice a couple of days back.

Devon: I did. It sounded great.

Jett: Yeah, until I swallowed a frog. Look -- look, I-I'm not the man I used to be.

Devon: You've had medical issues, though, right. And everybody's voice matures with age, you know that.

Jett: [ Scoffs ] You know, that's a -- that's a nice way to put that, man.

Devon: No, I'm s-- I'm -- hey, you need to let me get you in the studio so you can actually hear yourself.

Jett: Ahh. Look, I-I -- I appreciate the accolades, but save it for a younger maN. My time has passed, all right?

Devon: I completely disagree. I think that a voice like yours is timeless. There's a -- a depth and a purity to your voice you just don't hear these days.

Jett: Well, that's nice to hear, but --

Devon: I will never forget the first time I heard your music. It completely blew me away. It was like the only thing I could hear was your voice. It made everything else disappear. And literally your first single was one of the songs that inspired me to get into this business.

Jett: It's -- it's kind of you to say that.

Devon: Well, it's -- it's very true. And I would love for people to know that you're still around, making beautiful music. Bring a whole new generation to your door, man.

Jett: [ Sighs ] I don't know, devon. You -- you're asking a lot of an old man, here.

Devon: I'm just asking you to think about it.

Jett: I'll think about it.

Devon: That's a goodplace to start.

Nikki: Well, it seems that you and billy were able to come to an understanding?

Victoria: Kind of reminded me how good we can be together.

Nikki: I just have to say, not many people say that a trip to las vegas got their relationship back on track.

Victoria: Well, it wasn't easy, though.

Nikki: How did you do it?

Victoria: Brutal honesty. We said some things to each other that we've been holding back on for a long time.

Nikki: Well, what -- what makes you think that things are different this time? I mean, you have always been his greatest addiction -- more than the gambling. I just don't know that it's the healthiest way to approach a relationship.

Victoria: Yeah, but, mom, billy is truly different this time. On all fronts. I mean, even in my hotel suite. When I was hosting this high-stakes poker game. Billy was calm and collected, and he was -- he was even actually kind of funny.

Nikki: Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa. I'm backing up, here. You hosted a poker game in your suite? What was that about?

Billy: There's a million other things I'd rather be doing right now, so say what you need to say so we can move on.

Cane: Okay. Um... it's about the incident the other day at the club, when I, uh... when I almost knocked you out.

Billy: Yeah, that wasn't gonna happen, especially with your drunk state.

Traci: Okay. Okay, gentlemen. Let's not race to the bottom of the barrel again.

Cane: Okay. All right, well, I just wanted to come here and say I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Billy: Come again?

Cane: All right.

Traci: He's apologizing for his behavior.

Billy: Oh, I heard what he said. I just don't believe him.

Cane: All right, this was a mistake. I knew this. All right. I'm gonna go.

Traci: No, no. Please don't go. Cane, no.

Billy: Oh, traci, did you put him up to this?

Cane: No, she didn't put me up to this, okay, she made me face some hard truths, okay, and [Sighs] I, uh...

[ Sighs ] This is really hard for me to concede this to you, all right, but the reason that my marriage fell apart... is not your fault. It's mine. Okay?

Billy: No, you're right. That probably wasn't easy to admit.

Cane: No, it wasn'T.

Billy: And kudos to you to get through to him.

Billy: Maybe one of these days I'll get through to you. In the meantime, it is customary to accept an apology with a little less snark.

Billy: Apology accepted.

Cane: Hey.

Billy: I got to go. I'll see you later.

Traci: [ Sighs ] Well. [ Chuckles ] Feels good, doesn't it, doing the right thing, huh?

Cane: Uh... I don't know yet, but I'm gonna take your word on that.

Traci: [ Laughs ] Okay. How's everything going with lily?

Cane: Um, she's being released this week.

Traci: Oh! That's wonderful.

Cane: Yeah.

Traci: I bet the kids are very relieved.

Cane: Yeah, yeah. They're over the moon. Um... except, you know, the little wrinkle of the, uh, divorce papers.

Traci: Well, what's the problem?

Cane: I can't sign them, 'cause I think I can fix it.

Traci: Okay, cane, uh... from what you've told me, I thought lily was not going to be swayed?

Cane: Traci, she means too much to me just to give up like that, okay, and... I need your help.

Traci: No, no, no, no. I just don't feel comfortable getting in the middle of your marriage.

Cane: Okay, what is the worst that could happen, all right? She's already filed for divorce.

Traci: No, I-I wish I could help, and I wish the best for you, but --

Cane: Traci, I wouldn't ask if there was any other way. I wouldn'T. I promise you that.

Traci: Cane, I could lose either or both of you as friends. I care about you both so much. I would never let that happen.

Cane: Which is why you're so perfect for this, because you are like the glue that holds this family together. You know, you're like this -- this person who has insight into what people need and how they fall in love, and it makes you this incredible writer, and it just makes you this true friend.

Traci: Oh, for heaven's sake, cane! Okay, I'll tell you what I'll do -- I will find you the name of a really good marriage counselor.

Cane: Please. Will you please do this for me?

Traci: I can'T.

Cane: Okay. I have an idea. How about you pretend that I'm one of the characters in your novel, and you help me find a happy ending amongst all of this. Can you do that?

Nikki: So a spontaneous poker game just broke out in your suite? Tell me, exactly how does that happen?

Victoria: Mom... there was a mix-up with the rooms, okay? It made more sense to have it in mine. It's no big deal.

Nikki: Please tell me that you didn't do this intentionally to see how billy would react.

Victoria: I would never do that to billy -- or anyone else in recovery.

Nikki: Okay. Well, what are you hiding?

Victoria: Nothing!

Nikki: You are just like your father.

Victoria: In what way?

Nikki: Keeping secrets. Acting like the truth will break me.

Victoria: Mom, please. You are the strongest woman that I know.

Nikki: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kay. Enough of that. What are you hiding from me?

Victoria: When is the last time that you spoke to dad?

Nikki: Well, he's been texting. Uh, you know how busy he gets on these business -- why are you asking me that?

Victoria: Dad is in vegas.

Nikki: What?

Victoria: He said he was closing a business deal in new zealand.

Nikki: [ Exclaims ] I-I-I -- I don't understand. Who's this person with him?

Victoria: I don't have a clue. But dad's been seen haunting private poker games up and down the strip.

Nikki: So, that explains your impromptu party. You were trying to lure him to you.

Victoria: I thought I would catch him red-handed, and then he would be forced to tell me the truth. But then he never showed.

Nikki: Unbelievable!

Victoria: Mom --

Nikki: That man has lied to me for the last time.

Jack: Oh, no. This is jabot like you have never seen it before -- bigger. Cutting-edge. Electric. You like what we did with rebekah barlow and the jaboutiques, this is gonna blow your mind.

[ Chuckles ] I'm glad to hear that. We want you on board. We'll talk then. Great. Hey.

Billy: Look at you, back in the saddle.

Jack: No hard feelings.

Billy: Got to be a glutton for punishment to sit in that torture chair. Which makes you the perfect man for the job.

Jack: Yeah, I might be. I've been putting out fires all morning, and trying to ignite a few new ones.

Billy: Do tell.

Jack: Before we get to that, I went by abby's new restaurant.

Billy: And?

Jack: Our niece has learned from the best. She is equal parts abbott and newman, and 100% a mind of her own.

Billy: A force to be reckoned with.

Jack: Oh, she's on her way. By the way, she will take no side in this family feud.

Billy: Okay. So, what are these fires you're talking about putting out? Should I be concerned?

Jack: No. They've been doused completely.

Billy: And I'm assuming one of them had to do with ashley?

Jack: Yes. And you should know, she will no longer be pushing her my beauty collective line.

Billy: How'd you swing that?

Jack: Cash.

Billy: Jabot's?

Jack: My own.

Billy: Ay-yi-yi, jack.

Jack: You know what, it's worth it. We'll get off to a running start with our jabot collective without worrying about any new competition.

Billy: That was so big of her after she planted a listening device to find out about it in the first place.

Jack: Hell hath no fury like an abbott scorned.

Billy: So you know it's just a matter of time before she strikes back.

Jack: Oh, yeah. I know.

Billy: Okay, then why are you smiling?

Traci: Oh, honey [Chuckles] I am not making any promises. I am not a miracle worker.

Cane: Well, don't sell yourself short. You know, you've already opened my eyes.

Traci: [ Chuckles ] All right. Now, you said that you don't think you're the man that lily deserves anymore.

Cane: No, I'm not.

Traci: Well, if you were a character in one of my books, I would want to know why. I would want to know what happened to the man you used to be. Why did you change?

Cane: Uh, those aren't really easy answers, so...

Traci: No, and they probably shouldn't be. You're gonna have to really dig deep, cane. You're gonna have to be brutally honest with yourself.

Cane: [ Sighs ] I kind of find it hard to be on the level with the people I love the most, let alone being honest with myself.

Traci: Yeah. But it's the only way. The only way you can do battle with the demons inside. You can't fix anything or anyone until you fix yourself.

Devon: Wow, wow. The place is looking great, abby. How are we situated as far as a timeline?

Abby: The crew is due here any minute.

Devon: We don't have a second to waste, then.

Abby: I know. And I know there's a lot of work to be done. But, look, I have every confidence that we can make this place look like a million dollars.

Devon: Yeah. I can't wait to see it up and running. Um, there's something, though, that I'm a little confused about.

Abby: What's that?

Devon: Mariah told me that you told her that I agreed to promote this place on "gc buzz."

Abby: I'm sure that's just a misunderstanding. Um... but look -- look at this. This is the pièce de résistance.

[ Laughs ]

Devon: You mean the stage?

Abby: When the dinner crowd fades and we transform into a nightclub, I just thought that maybe some of the lp artists could perform. What do you think?

Devon: Mm... well, abby [Sighs] You have done the impossible.

Abby: I made you a believer?

Devon: Yeah. I didn't know that you could do this. I didn't think you could do it. But you did. You pulled it off.

Abby: [ Chuckles ] Can you believe it's all coming together?

Devon: You have a lot to be proud of.

Abby: I think i may have found my calling.

Billy: You are engaged in an all-out, no-holds-barred corporate war with our sister and you have a smile plastered on your face.

Jack: It's just business.

Billy: No, jack, it's business with a heaping side of personal, which makes it lethal. You of all people should know that.

Jack: I am aware.

Billy: Okay, then this smile can mean only one of two things -- either you need a mental-health check -- and if that is true, don't worry. I won't notify the board. Or there is another listening device planted in here somewhere.

Jack: We are sweeping for bugs on a regular basis now.

Billy: Then I don't understand.

Jack: Whatever she's got, I can handle it. What is it the kids say? Bring it on.

Billy: Kids haven't said that in 20 years.

Jack: Look, the important news is, ashley and I are communicating.

Billy: Like mobsters, yeah.

Jack: We're getting closer.

Billy: Closer to nuclear war, maybe.

Jack: We're two competing C.E.O.S on equal footing. I have a new appreciation for ashley. Hopefully she has the same for me.

Billy: You know what I would say if I was a betting man?

Jack: Which you are not.

Billy: I would say that she's playing you. And I just hope the two of you don't destroy each other and the companies before it's too late.

Jack: Ashley has only always wanted one thing -- to sit in that C.E.O. Chair. Now she is charting her own course.

Billy: With our patents, by the way, jack, so don't underestimate how far she's willing to take this.

Jack: It's gonna be okay. Trust me.

Billy: [ Scoffs] Famous last words. Come on. This is sibling rivalry to the extreme.

Jack: Ashley has what she wants. She will dial it back.

Billy: Jack, you think she wants your money? She can make her own money. She wants your head on a platter. And before you know it, she's gonna come after that smile of yours, and the two of you are gonna be out for blood.

Nikki: You know, when we got out of prison, he spun this fairy tale that we would be side by side for the rest of our lives. The very next day, he is gone.

Victoria: Well, I still want to be believe there's a reasonable explanation.

Nikki: Oh, well, yes, I sure as hell would like to hear it from him.

[ Sighs ]

Victoria: Voicemail?

Nikki: Um, hi. Listen, I don't know where you are or what you're doing or, at this point, even who you are... but if you're not home by this time tomorrow, you will rue the day.

Victoria: I wish I had more than a blurry photo and unanswered questions.

Nikki: Oh, it's classic victor -- lies and secrets, everything shrouded in mystery.

Victoria: Well, I'm sure that he's gonna call you back soon.

Nikki: Oh, yes. I'm sure he will -- as soon as he concocts a cover story. You know what? Get your coat.

Victoria: What? Why? Where are we going?

Nikki: We're gonna track down the truth.

Unpredictable crohn's

symptoms following you?

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

Jett: The moon doesn't shine without you

Ana: Shine

Jett: Mm-hmm.

Ana: And neither does the sun

oh, ohh

Jett: Yes.

Ana: [ Giggles ]

And I really want this moment

[ Both chuckle ]

To go on and on and on

Jett: Yeah, yeah. That's what I'm talking about, baby girl.

Ana: Mm, mm-mm-mm

[ Chuckles ]

Jett: That run right there, that's the one.

Ana: Yeah, right.

Devon: Add another song that's a show-stopper, and I have the perfect act.

Jett: [ Scoffs ] What act are you talking about?

Devon: I am talking about yours, because you and ana are going to be playing at the opening of my new restaurant.

Jett: Uh, since when?

Devon: Since today.

Ana: Uh, we had a deal, devon. I'm staying behind the scenes.

Devon: I know what you said. But when you performed at the club not too long ago, you were absolutely incredible. We all know how great your voice is, okay...

Ana: I can'T.

Jett: And I won'T. I mean, not yet.

Devon: Okay, it's not a tour we're talking about, or a big concert. It's just one night and a couple songs.

Elena: Yeah. How bad could it be?

Devon: Exactly. Thank you.

Elena: [ Giggles ]

Devon: And there's not gonna be any producers or agents or promoters there. It's just gonna be friends and family.

Jett: So, what do you get out of it?

Devon: I get to watch my little sister share the stage with her father, which I think is a beautiful moment. And I get to watch you guys blow away the audience, and eventually say, "I told you so." That's what I get.

Jett: He get like this often?

Ana: Only when he hears a new sound that he wants.

Jett: So, what does he do when someone says no?

Ana: Never seen it happen.

Jett: Mm.

Devon: [ Chuckles ] Guy, do you not miss being onstage and performing? Honestly? Having the audience hang on your every word -- do you not miss that feeling? Ana?

Ana: [ Groans ] I'm on board if he iS.

Devon: Hey.

Elena: [ Chuckles ]

Devon: She's on board, jett. What do you say?

Billy: Nothing like a gamblers anonymous meeting to set your priorities.

Jack: Well, I'm glad you're making some meetings. Can I assume this new priority includes victoria?

Billy: Made me realize that i want to spend the rest of my life with her.

Jack: What does she want?

Billy: Well, you know vick. She wants to take things slow. You know the drill.

Jack: So, what are you gonna do?

Billy: I'm gonna move back into the house and raise our kids together before she can change her mind.

Jack: [ Chuckles ] "Before she can change her mind." Not exactly going slow.

Billy: You know what I mean.

Jack: You have a tendency to leap before looking. Be careful.

Billy: [ Groans ] Vegas is a new beginning for us, jack. And, yes, victoria has her doubts, but, uh, we love each other, and we're gonna move forward.

Jack: At different speeds?

Billy: We'll work it out. This is real. This is right. Go big or go home.

Nikki: Have you found anything?

Victoria: No. Not yet.

Nikki: All right. Keep looking, sweetheart.

Victoria: I'm not sure about this, mom. Dad's private. Going behind his back like this isn't right.

Nikki: Well, he's given me no other option.

Victoria: Maybe the man in the photo is a C.E.O. That dad is wining and dining and trying to get under the newman umbrella.

Nikki: Then why would he be lying about where he is?

Victoria: Do you really think he could be in some trouble?

[ Cellphone rings ]

Nikki: [ Mutters ]

[ Gasps ] It's him! Where the hell are you? Istanbul. You don't say. Huh. So, let's see. From new zealand to las vegas to turkey in, what, 48 hours? What, are you trying to break some kind of air-speed record? What the hell are you -- oh, no, no, no, no, no. You don't get to hang up with just an "I love you." I want to know what you --

[ Smacks table ] Victor! Victor?

[ Huffs ] Oh, my god!

Victoria: What did he say?

Nikki: He said, "be patient. All will soon be revealed."

Traci: You also said that you have a little trouble with the truth.

Cane: Yeah. Um... 'cause I don't like hurting people.

Traci: That's an interesting justification.

[ Laughs ]

Cane: Okay. All right. Okay. I lie to protect myself. You know, I lied to lily before I cheated on her with juliet, before I kissed victoria. I lied when we first got together. You know, I lied to the whole world about being a chancellor.

Traci: And that sounds a little bigger than just self-preservation.

Cane: Yeah, it's 'cause I, uh... I don't know. It's just like I wanted to escape from who I was, and i just wanted to better myself.

Traci: Okay. Why do you think you lie so much to lily?

Cane: 'Cause, deep down, I don't deserve her. 'Cause she is this talented, honest, ambitious woman. She comes from this terrific family, and I'M...

Traci: And you are?

Cane: I'm the opposite. You know, my brother and my father were criminals. My mother wasn't much better.

Traci: [ Sighs ] So when things go bad and you don't feel like you're living up to lily's expectations, you fall back on --

Cane: I lie.

Traci: Yeah.

Cane: I lie. It's like second nature to me, you know? It's like it's part of my core. And I just...

Traci: Well, it sounds to me like maybe these lies are bandages on very real, very deep wounds.

Cane: Yeah, but the problem is, is that the truth always comes out, and it only makes things worse, doesn't it?

Traci: [ Scoffs ] Well, no one's perfect, cane.

[ Chuckles ] And you know what? We can't get any better until we face some pretty difficult truths about ourselves. And I think you've made a really good first step today.

Cane: Oh, so this is the bit where the hero faces himself, right? Yeah?

Traci: Yes.

Cane: Okay. All right.

Traci: And it's my favorite chapter. Do you know why?

Cane: Why?

Traci: Because it means he can be redeemed.

Jett: Look, I-I -- I'm flattered, really, but it seems too soon.

Devon: Well, I'll defer to your nurse, here, then. Elena, do you think his vocal cords are strong enough?

Elena: I mean, a few songs shouldn't hurt.

Devon: A few songs shouldn't hurt. I'm only asking for a few songs -- two.

Jett: Well, that's two more than I was planning on.

Devon: You know that when you get back on that stage, it's gonna take a couple minutes of being in the spotlight before you get your feet wet again, and you have the audience falling in love with you.

Jett: [ Sighs ]

Ana: It's up to you, dad.

Jett: Well, I admit, singing with my baby girl is really what I wanted to do.

Ana: But if you feel like it's too soon, or it's too much to handle right now...

Jett: Oh, no. It's never bothered me.

Ana: Is that a yes?

Jett: Let's do it.

Ana: [ Laughs ]

Devon: Yes!

Jett: Let's do it. Let's do it.

Ana: You heard the man! We're in!

Devon: Thank you.

Nikki: There has to be something here, something we've overlooked.

Victoria: How did he sound?

Nikki: The same way he always sounds when he's keeping something from me.

Victoria: Cool, steady, very reassuring.

Nikki: Exactly. It's infuriating.

Victoria: What is this big secret?

Nikki: I don't know, but I'm not leaving this office until I dig it up. Oh, what's this?

Victoria: What'd you find?

Nikki: It's a bill. Uh... from summerlin, nevada. Where's that?

Victoria: It's a few miles outside of vegas.

Nikki: [ Gasps ]

Victoria: What? What is the bill for?

Nikki: It's for services from a doctor's office. Oh, my god. I've been thinking of him in the worst light possible, but... victoria, what if he's sick?

Traci: Oh! Hi, jack.

Jack: Can I help you with something?

Traci: [ Stammers ] No. No, I-I -- just a little surprised to see you home so soon.

Jack: Well, I just wanted to drop off a few things before i head back to jabot.

Traci: Okay. Well, don't let me keep you.

Jack: What are you hiding back there?

Traci: Nothing.

Jack: You really are the worst liar.

Traci: [ Huffs ] I have a feeling I should be offended.

Jack: I meant it as the highest of compliments.

Traci: [ Chuckles ]

[ Sighs ] Okay. All right. Jack, you win. Um... it is another surprise from ashley.

Jack: A trojan horse?

Traci: No, no. No. Something a little bit more personal.

Jack: Oh, I can't wait to see this.

Traci: I don't think that's a good idea.

Jack: Let me see it, please. Please?

Traci: [ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

Jack: Well, you got to give her credit.

[ Sighs ] She knows how to hit a guy below the belt.

Devon: Hey, thank you very much for backing me up earlier. I appreciate you doing that.

Elena: Yeah. I just hope I'm doing the right thing for uncle jett. And you better be doing right by him, too.

Devon: Oh, absolutely. I don't take advantage of people.

Elena: No offense, but you're a producer.

Devon: I understand why you'd say that.

Elena: Mm-hmm.

Devon: But, uh, ana is my sister, which means that jett is family, and if you knew me, you would know that I would never do anything to exploit my family.

Elena: You really mean that, don't you?

Devon: I absolutely do. I spent too much time growing up wishing that I had a family, so the last thing I'd do is mess that up now. There's a couple things that are sacred to me, and music and family's on the top of my list.

Elena: So, between the two of us, my uncle jett is in really good hands.

Devon: I'd say so, yeah.

Elena: [ Chuckles ] Well, I'm sure you're busy.

Devon: Uh, no, actually. I have some time. I have some time, and I have a question for you, too.

Elena: Does this have anything to do with that coffee you owe me?

Devon: It actually does. Um, I was wondering if, instead of getting coffee, if you'd like to get dinner with me. At the opening of the restaurant.

Elena: Sounds like a date.

Devon: Yeah. Yeah, it kind of does.

Elena: I mean, coffee, I have clothes for, but an opening night?

Devon: You wouldn't have to worry about anything. I would take care of -- I would take care of it all. I -- I'd just love to hear you say yes.

Elena: Yes.

Devon: Yeah? Okay. Cool.

Arturo: Can we talk?

Jack: Wow. Ashley really does have ice water running through her veins.

Traci: No, no, jack. I think -- I think it's the opposite. I think she's hurt. I think that's where all this is coming from.

Jack: Oh, no, no, no, no. She's having fun. She think she's gonna get to me.

Traci: She has.

Jack: Diabolical.

Traci: Ugh. I know that look. No. You've got to make sure that you don't sink to her level.

Jack: Oh, I'm not sinking. I'm rising up.

Traci: Oh, don't do something you're gonna regret, jack.

Jack: Ash. Hey. I didn't think you'd pick up. I just wanted to tell you, I love you, too, sis. Well played, indeed. Well played.

Victoria: Dad hates going to the doctor.

Nikki: Yeah, he thinks it's an invasion of privacy. I swear, that man is like a lion -- the slightest sign of sickness and he goes off far away from the rest of the pride.

Victoria: Heaven forbid anyone realize that he's human.

Nikki: The last thing he wants to do is admit he's weak.

Victoria: It does make sense, though.

Nikki: I mean, yes, it makes sense that he would seek treatment far away from genoa city.

Victoria: We don't really think that there's anything wrong with him, do we?

Nikki: Honey, I don't know. I don't know what to think.

Victoria: Oh! I found the address of that doctor.

Nikki: Oh, good. Can you send it to my phone? I want to call the pilot and see how quickly we can get wheels up.

Victoria: Mom, I'm not sure how much you're gonna find out.

Nikki: Well, to hell with doctor-patient confidentiality. I mean, I need to know what's going on with my husband. I need to be with him and -- and get him through whatever is ahead.

Victoria: It's a psychiatrist.

Nikki: What? Your father would never go --

Victoria: I know.

Nikki: Well, then, what is he doing outside of las vegas, paying for a shrink?

Billy: Vick? Victoria? Hey. I used my emergency key. 'Cause this is an emergency. All right. Nobody's here.

[ Sighs ] That's all right.

[ Clears throat ] I can be patient.

[ Sighs ] I've waited my entire life for this woman.

[ Sighs ] What's a few minutes more?
