Kyle: Whoa. Don't think like that.

Summer: Once lola gets what she needs, you're just gonna leave me all alone.

Arturo: You know that if we could, we'd be in there with you.

Lola: I think I got to do this one on my own.

Ana: I'm not good at lying. I just thought it was easier than telling you to back off. I like my privacy.

Devon: But if you need anything, you can come to me.

Ana: I will look no further that my favorite brother.

Nikki: Oh, my god. We're escaped convicts.

Sharon: Fugitives.

Billy: This is just the way that it had to be.

Nick: It lets us do what we need to do.

Victoria: And what is that?

Nick: Set a trap for J.T.

Victoria: So, the plan is for us to hide out in the cabin until you find J.T.

Billy: The driver and the guard are gonna hold off reporting the crash as long as possible.

Nick: When the search begins for the three of you, rey is gonna manage it, and he will keep us updated.

Sharon: I have total trust in rey. He's going to give nick and billy the time they need to find J.T., And then maybe this whole nightmare will finally be over.

Victoria: I'm still not convinced that J.T. Is out there to find.

Billy: I had another conversation with katie about her imaginary friend. She remembered that he sang a song to her, which she then sang to me, and I recognized it. It was a song that J.T. Wrote. Remember, he used to sing it to reed? About the circus?

Victoria: Oh, my god. Could J.T. Really have been out there this whole time?

Nikki: Well, there's no one else it could be! But now we have a chance to catch him. Nicholas I can't sit around here doing nothing. Please, let me help. Let me help in any way.

Nick: Mom, no. No. You cannot be seen. None of you can. The next part of the plan is really dangerous.

Ana: Hey!

Devon: Hey.

Ana: I thought you were at the office.

Devon: Yeah, I was. I just needed to get some air. Would, uh -- would you like to go for a jog, or something?

Ana: I wish I could, but i got to head out to a meeting.

Devon: I don't remember seeing anything on the books. What meeting are you going to?

Ana: Um, it's a new artist that we could potentially sign to the label. I didn't want to bother you until I vetted him first.

Devon: Mm-hmm. Okay.

Ana: I also didn't tell you that your car needs new spark plugs or the dry cleaners over-starched your shirts. Because I'm handling it.

Devon: Okay. I will give you your space. You can go do your thing.

Ana: Thank you.

Devon: Mm-hmm.

Ana: This guy hasn't earned a meeting with you yet.

Devon: Well, I'm glad you're understanding how hierarchy works, finally.

Ana: Stop it. I'll see you this afternoon?

[ Door opens, closes ]

Kyle: I heard lola was having surgery today, and I wanted to check in, see how things were going.

Abby: It's just hard to believe that summer would sacrifice your honeymoon so that you could go stand vigil at the bedside of your ex-girlfriend.

Kyle: We're not leaving until later today.

Abby: You're gonna have to do a lot better at lying if you want to keep up this façade.

Kyle: Can we just not do this right now?

Abby: Yeah. Sure. I will drop it.

Kyle: Thank you.

Abby: As soon as you tell me the truth.

Kyle: You already know the truth, you just refuse to believe it.

Abby: I think I know what happened, and just nod your head if I'm right. Summer was the donor match, and she blackmailed you into marrying her in exchange for lola's life.

Nikki: J.T. Is dangerous. If you're planning on going after him without outside help...

Nick: We're not. We're putting together a private security team.

Nikki: How do you think you're gonna lure him out?

Nick: You're just gonna have to trust us.

[ Cellphone rings ] It's rey. Hey.

Rey: Hey. Checking in while lola's in surgery.

Nick: Everything's going according to schedule. My guys will be here soon to watch the cabin.

Sharon: If he has a minute, could I...?

Nick: Yeah, sharon wants to talk to you. Keep it quick.

Sharon: Hey. Are you okay?

Rey: You -- you're worried about me?

Sharon: I know how hard the decision to help us must have been for you.

Rey: I admit, it wasn't easy.

Sharon: I remember you telling me about working in miami and making a decision to break the rules, to help that friend, but...

Rey: This is different. I never meant for any of this to happen. I owe it to you to try and make things right.

Sharon: You could lose everything.

Rey: Hopefully it doesn't come to that, but... if it does, some things are worth the risk.

Sharon: I should have never put you in this position. I lied to you. You were right to be suspicious.

Rey: Well, neither of us were at our best. The situation was complicated.

Sharon: Yeah. It was. It is.

Rey: So much has happened since the last time we talked. There's so much I want to tell you.

Sharon: Me, too. Um, I have to go, rey.

Rey: Okay, well, hopefully we can have that talk soon. In person.

Kyle: Summer didn't blackmail me into anything.

Abby: She had no explanation for why you two were having a quickie wedding on the day that her grandmother and aunt are being hauled off to jail.

Mariah: Sorry. Sorry. I think I'm just too worried about everyone else to act normal right now. I mean, lola's having major surgery, kyle is officially married to summer, my mom is going to prison, and faith is a wreck. And I'm trying to be there for her in every way that I can, but I'm also -- I'm not her mom.

Tessa: You can be the best big sister she could ever ask for.

Mariah: And meanwhile, you're comforting me while you're awaiting trial for blackmail.

Tessa: Okay, well, um, i don't want you to worry about me, but everyone else -- I mean, maybe we can think of ways to help them. You are not the kind of chick who drowns her sorrows in lattes.

Mariah: True, but I'm also not a lawyer, a surgeon, or a miracle-worker.

Nikki: If J.T. Takes the bait.

Sharon: Let's hope he does.

Victoria: Is that what you're hoping for? J.T. Will be so thirsty for revenge that you're gonna provoke him into coming after us?

Jack: I am so sorry. I did not mean to scare you. Katie and johnny are over here, they're playing "explorers in the wilderness" looking for bears, and I'm the bear.

Kerry: Well, you were very committed to the role.

Jack: Well, somehow, I think they've given up the hunt.

Kerry: Yeah, I think they got distracted by that batch of cookies mrs. Martinez is making in the kitchen.

Jack: Well, I suppose explorers have to eat, too. Though, I thought they were having fun.

Kerry: I'm sure they were. Looked like someone else was, too.

Jack: I wasn't sure when billy asked me to cover for the nanny today, but these kids have this wide-eyed sense of wonder, and it's just contagious. I don't know, I got caught up in it.

Kerry: Well, it is extremely charming.

Jack: With their mother gone, I worry that the light in their eyes is gonna fade over time.

Kerry: Victoria's prison sentence will definitely force them to grow up more quickly.

Jack: Which is why I am going to see to it that they are surrounded by all the love and support possible.

Kerry: The love and support of jack abbott. What more could one ask for?

Nick: All right, we will call you as soon as we have any news.

Nikki: [ Sighs ] Be safe.

Sharon: Listen to your mother. Your kids needs you, too, you know.

Billy: You are not going back to prison, okay? We're gonna pull this off.

Victoria: I really want to believe you, billy, but it's a long shot.

Billy: Yeah, I know it is. But this current situation is unacceptable. Hey. Trust me. Wish me luck.

Victoria: Good luck.

Nick: Billy, we got to go.

Sharon: Everything is gonna be okay.

Victoria: It's just so much to take in. I feel out of the loop.

Sharon: We were on our way to prison. They had to make a last-minute decision, and there weren't a whole lot of options.

Victoria: Exactly. They didn't think this through. I mean... look at -- can't you see how desperate this is? They're gonna find themselves in over their heads.

Sharon: The alternative is we go to jail. For a very long time.

Victoria: We may still, if their plan fails.

Arturo: Don't yell at my fiancée unless you want a problem with me.

Abby: It was just a family argument. It's what the abbotts do.

Arturo: What are you guys fighting about?

Abby: I asked kyle if summer was lola's donor.

Arturo: Well, we've had our suspicions.

Abby: Look, it's not like summer can back out now if you tell us the truth.

Arturo: You know, if summer is the donor, then I might actually have some respect for you, you know, that you made that happen. So? Did you?

Kyle: No.

Arturo: [ Scoffs ] Then you're not some kind of martyr. Just a crappy boyfriend that cheated on my sister.

Kyle: I didn't cheat on lola.

Arturo: What do you call that kiss at the cabin?

Kyle: Well, she had broken up with me.

Arturo: For all of five minutes, kyle. And then when she went to go make up, you had your hands all over another woman. You never deserved lola. And now when she wakes up and calls out for you, again, I got to tell her you got married.

Kyle: Wait. Again? She -- she asked for me?

Abby: Doesn't matter.

Kyle: Yeah, you're right. You're right. All that matters is that lola wakes up and makes a full recovery. I just need to know if she came through the surgery all right. Then I'll leave. Do you have any idea when you might hear something?

Abby: Hopefully right now.

Can I help you?

Devon: Yeah. I think you can. There's a girl that just came in here.

You have the wrong room.

Devon: I don't think I do. Um, excuse me!

Devon: Hi, again.

What do you want?

Devon: Uh, I literally just saw my sister ana come into this room. So I know you know she's in there, and I'm guessing that you're the person she's been giving money to, or...?

Devon: It doesn't matter. Can I go in and get her without there being a problem?

Ana: Devon?

Devon: Hey. There you are.

Ana: What are you doing here?

Devon: Um, I'd love to ask you the same question because you lied to me about where you were going.

Ana: You -- you followed me here, after everything we talked about?

Devon: Yes, I did, because you're not good at lying. So I don't know what I was supposed to do.

Ana: You were supposed to trust me, not spy on me.

Devon: What is this place? What are we doing here? What's happening?

Ana: That's none of your business.

Devon: Is this where your money's been going?

Ana: Devon, please go away. We'll talk about this later.

Devon: Ana, I'm not going to go and leave you here without knowing what's going on.

Yeah, I'd like to know that, too.

Devon: What are you doing here?

Tessa: You used your platform at gc buzz to help lola find a donor. Why can't you do the same for sharon, nikki, and victoria?

Mariah: I don't think it'll have quite the same effect.

Tessa: Why not? You have a way of speaking to people's hearts, making them se the truth. I think if you did a segment on sharon and the others, it might help them get an appeal.

Mariah: It certainly could help drum up support.

Tessa: Exactly.

Mariah: At the very least, you know, it'll help get the real story of what happened out there, you know? Like the judge's unfair sentencing.

Tessa: I mean, maybe you could do more than one segment.

Mariah: Yeah. Yeah, like, maybe -- maybe a deep dive into the full story, and we could tell it from each of the women's perspectives. You know, nikki as the mother, victoria as the victim of abuse, and sharon as somebody who was just in over their head and trying to do the right thing. We could maybe even air them individually leading up to, like, I don't know, a rally of some sort? You know, in support of the women and overturning their verdict.

Tessa: I love that idea. I'm totally in. And maybe, for me, it can be a first step to pay them back for what I did.

Mariah: Do you have any idea when your trial might be?

Tessa: I mean, I have no idea what kind of priority it is for christine, but every free moment I have, I want to spend with you.

Nate: So, the team is about midway through the surgery, so i don't have a lot of news yet.

Arturo: Yeah, but so far...

Nate: So far, everything seems to be running smoothly.

Arturo: Oh, thank god.

Abby: [ Sighs, chuckles ]

Rey: When will you know more?

Nate: Once the surgery's over, okay? I'll come find you as soon as i have an update, okay?

Arturo: Thank you.

Rey: Thank you, doc.

Abby: [ Sighs ]

Arturo: Hey. You okay?

Rey: Yeah, I just -- I need a minute.

[ Clears throat ]

Abby: Is he okay?

Arturo: Yeah. Yeah, he just -- he takes things hard. Always has. It's like he feels responsible for everyone.

Abby: We should go over there.

Arturo: The abbotts may talk about everything all the time, babe, but the rosales don'T. Abby, he said he needed a minute.

Abby: Hey. That wasn't bad news about lola. Everything's going well.

Rey: Yeah.

Arturo: Yeah, man, she's strong. She'll pull through this.

Rey: I -- I believe that.

Abby: Then why do you still seem so worried?

[ Cellphone rings ]

Rey: Um, if you'll excuse me, I have to take this. Hey.

Nick: We found it.

Rey: Okay, good. You know what to do.

Devon: Yeah. I'm a huge fan, man. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Devon: Really?

Now, elena's eyes start glazing over when I start going long about the old days, so...

Devon: [ Chuckles ]

[ Laughs, coughs ]

Devon: Yeah, I, uh -- I've always wondered why you stopped recording.

Well, my -- my health hasn't been too stellar for a while now.

Devon: I see. I'm sorry to hear that.

Yeah, and he shouldn't be over-exerting himself now.

Devon: Of course. I apologize, also, for showing up the way I did. I'm devon hamilton, by the way.

Elena dawson. I'm jett's nurse.

Devon: It's a pleasure to meet you. Um, why didn't you tell me that this was the artist you were gonna meet today? Because, uh, mr. Slade, if you're interested in coming back, I would be more than happy to meet with you.

He really needs to rest now. Please.

Devon: Sure, sure. Yeah. We can always reschedule another time to speak, if you'd like.

Ana: I didn't come here to talk to jett about business.

There's no better time to tell him.

Devon: What are you guys gonna tell me?

Ana: Jett's been sick. He needed an operation and a lot of follow-up treatments. I've been helping him pay for it.

Devon: Wow, okay. So that's where your money's been going. That's very kind of you.

Ana: And totally worth it. He's getting better.

Devon: Well, good. Good. Um, I'm still missing the connection, though, between you guys. Are -- are you, uh -- are you friends, or did you meet when you were singing back in the day, or...?

Ana: No. I mean, yes? I like to think we're friends. But jett's also my father.

Kerry: Mm-hmm. Well, I'll be back in the office this afternoon. Can we discuss it then? Great.

Jack: That phyllis? A lot happening at jabot?

Kerry: Oh, just business, as usual. All I want to focus on right now is my grizzly bear turned cookie monster?

Jack: Oh, yeah.

Kerry: Mmm. Mmm.

Jack: Just trying to help. And, listen, I know I put you in an awkward position with phyllis, and I wouldn't blame you if you were having second thought about helping us in this effort to oust her.

Kerry: Nothing's changed for me.

Jack: Well, I'm sure you're conflicted. I know that the two of you have gotten much closer.

Kerry: Well, she's a good friend, but this has nothing to do with friendship. This is business. And if there's anyone who understands how cut-throat the corporate world can be, it's phyllis. If she were in my position... she would do exactly the same thing.

Nikki: The boys' plan may not be perfect, but it's happening. And, at this point, we need to get behind it.

Sharon: Rey won't let anything go wrong.

Victoria: It may not be up to him, sharon. He's not all-powerful.

[ Sighs ] Look, even in the best-case scenario, where they do find J.T... I'm sorry, but that doesn't absolve us of all of our crimes.

Nikki: It would take away the murder charge.

Sharon: That would be huge, and we'd be talking about what, obstruction of justice, probably?

Victoria: Because we didn't kill J.T. We just buried him alive. That's no worse than jaywalking, right?

Nikki: Okay, well, whatever we would be guilty of, it would be a lesser sentence.

Victoria: We are fugitives. So we can tack that onto the end of our sentence, unless you just want to avoid all of that and go on the run for the rest of our lives and never be able to see our families again!

Nikki: Okay, honey, stop it. You're getting way ahead of yourself.

Victoria: Mom, I can't help it. One option is worse than the next, and then there's the worst possible outcome, that J.T. Is unhinged, out there, hunting us!

Nikki: But this time, he is headed towards a trap.

Sharon: And the security guards are right outside.

Victoria: I am not just worried about us. What if J.T. Goes after billy or nick, or he tries to go after dad again? There's no telling who he might fixate on! And J.T. Can justify anything in his twisted mind! I know better than anyone what he's capable of.

Jack: Next stop, kites and hot dogs in the park.

Kerry: I love seeing you like this.

Jack: You know what, watching kids play is one of the simple joys of life. Seeing the world from their perspective is good for the soul. Hey, I know you have to get back to the office, but if you'd like to come with us, we'd love to have you.

Kerry: That is a very tempting offer...

Jack: I'm not suggesting you blow phyllis off, I just... I mean, we are talking kites.

Kerry: I can spare an hour.

Jack: Kids, get out here! We're going to the park!

Ana: I started looking for him a year ago. And with mom's help, I finally tracked him down.

Devon: So my mom got with jett slade? That -- that's something.

Yeah, yolanda never told me i had a daughter.

Devon: That sounds about right, sir.

And I feel awful about losing out on all those precious years, but... having ana here with me has been a miracle. She's an angel.

Devon: Yeah.

Ana: And getting to know my dad has brought so much to my life, too. It's like a whole portion of my life was missing, and he filled it in. I know so much more about myself just from meeting him and talking to him.

Devon: Yeah, sure. I completely understand that feeling, and I, uh -- I also know how complex that these relationships can be, too.

Wait, I haven't asked her for anything.

Ana: Yeah, it's not like that.

Devon: Sure. What I'm curious about is why you never told me about him.

Ana: I -- I don't want to get into that here.

Listen, the last thing I want to do is -- is cause any problems between you two, okay?

[ Coughs ]

And the last thing I want is anyone upsetting my patient.

Devon: No, for sure. I don't mean to upset anybody. I just want a clear answer from my sister, that's all.

Ana: I get why you're upset, but what gave you the right to follow me in the first place and barge in the way you did?

I'm sorry, ana.

Ana: No, don't be sorry. You've done nothing wrong. You want to know why I lied to you? Because my dad and I didn't want handouts from you.

Devon: Okay, um... but why resent me if I'm willing to help you guys, and I have the means to do it?

[ Sighs ] Look, can we -- can we just -- just stop, please? Please.

Okay, that's enough. You need to rest, and the two of you need to leave.

Mariah: We have got enough fliers to paper the entire town. People aren't gonna be able to walk 10 feet without seeing these bad boys.

Tessa: Well, I got my tape, i got my tacks.... uh, walking shoes on, and so I'm ready to go.

Mariah: Thank you for talking some sense into me and reminding me what's important. Even if this doesn't accomplish anything, it still feels really good being proactive.

Tessa: Well, thank you for being you.

Mariah: Of course. And I'm still worried about sharon and everything that she's going through right now...

Tessa: Hey, it is not over. Not by a long shot. Not if we have anything to say about it.

Mariah: Oh, I have a lot to say.

Tessa: Me, too. I've always wanted to write a protest song.

Mariah: [ Chuckles ]

Tessa: Looking for justice, where do we go?

Take to the streets, make it so

Mariah: [ Chuckles ]

Nikki: I think we'll all feel better if we stop talking about J.T.

Sharon: And focus on the fact that there are men outside whose sole job it is to protect us.

Nikki: Is that what rey was doing? Protecting you? Because I was beyond surprised to learn that he agreed to help us.

Sharon: I think he felt the judge's sentences were too harsh.

Victoria: Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that rey admitted that he loved you when he was on the stand.

Sharon: He also said that he didn't want to be with anyone other than his wife. I don't know what to think about any of that. But I do know that rey is a good man, and he wants to do the right thing.

Nikki: I hope so. Personally, I hope he is desperately in love with you, sharon, and would do anything to save you. Because all of our futures are now in his hands.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Devon: All right, listen, all I want to do is find out what's going on and get the truth because I'm trying to protect my sister, you know?

And I'm just trying to protect my uncle.

Devon: You're his niece.

Ana: I'm sorry, elena. I'll talk to you later, dad.

Devon: Okay. I really think that we could have worked this out if we had more time.

My patient, my rules, mr. Hamilton.

Devon: Okay.

I -- I wouldn't test her, son.

Devon: I will not do that. It was a pleasure to meet you both, and I will be leaving. All right? For now.

Jack: Hey, mariah!

Mariah: Hey! Jack! How's it going?

Jack: Pretty good. I'm on kid patrol today.

Mariah: Oh. So kyle's acting up again?

Jack: [ Laughing ] No, I'm looking after katie and johnny for the day.

Mariah: And caffeine is your reward? I thought scotch would have been a little bit more soothing.

Jack: Well, I'm not exactly off-duty. I'm just on a break before our next soon-to-be-announced activity.

Mariah: Where are the rugrats now?

Jack: They're with kerry in the car, but they insisted on hot chocolate for the trip home.

Mariah: Mm, as if they didn't have enough energy already.

Jack: We started with pastries, I figured just hot chocolate is a win. Could I get two hot chocolates, extra whipped cream?

Mariah: I see. Well, if you're interested, sharon has some sugar-free cocoa in the back, I'm just saying.

Jack: Well, as you just heard, I ordered it with extra whipped cream, so...

Mariah: Ooh, yeah, that's -- that's a bad move. With that, I'm gonna bid you adieu, and good luck!

Jack: Well, listen, while -- while I'm here with you, how are you doing? I know today can't be an easy day for you.

Mariah: Yeah, I've, um... I've kind of lost track of all of my not-easy days, but... today, I'm strangely motivated.

Jack: I'm glad to hear that.

Mariah: This trial and the aftermath have been, uh, pretty hard.

Jack: Yeah, for all of us.

Mariah: But I'm choosing not to just deal with it. I'm trying to get out there and raise awareness.

Jack: Good for you. I think that's great.

Mariah: Thank you. Yeah, I've got gc buzz, and tessa is putting together a song, and we've printed up all of these fliers, and we're gonna hang them all around the city.

Jack: It sounds like you are completely on top of it. If there's anything I can do to help, don't --

Mariah: Thank you, thank you. I appreciate that. Well, I will, uh, let you get back to the little ones that need their sugar fix.

Jack: Thanks. I'll see you later.

Mariah: See ya.

Nate: Surgery's over. Lola's resting, and, uh, from early signs, it seems like the transplants was a success.

Abby: Oh!

Arturo: Oh, my god.

Kyle: Hey, thank you. Thank you so much.

Nate: You bet. You bet.

Abby: She made it.

Nate: Her surgery didn't go as well as lola'S.

Nick: We staged the crash perfectly. Everyone bought it.

Billy: And the women are safe?

Nick: For the time being. Nobody even knows they're missing yet.

Billy: They won't truly be safe until they're out of the country. I have victoria's passport and everything else that she asked for.

Nick: Once we get mom's things and sharon's, we'll head to the dark horse warehouse and arrange to transport them to the airstrip. From there, everything will fall into place.

Nikki: Well, the guards sent up enough supplies for us to make dinner. Why don't we light a fire and pretend that it's an normal evening?

Victoria: Yeah, right.

Sharon: Are you okay?

Nikki: Okay, okay. This is not normal at all, but earlier today, we were on our way to prison. So can we all agree that this is better than that?

Sharon: Well, the food will definitely be better.

Nikki: That's right, and we have each other for company instead of --

Victoria: Instead of random strangers as cellmates.
