Episode #11573 ~ Drama surrounds Kyle and Summer's wedding day; Devon and Ana reach common ground.

Ana: Who gave you the right to check up on me? I'm a grown woman, devon.

Devon: I understand that, but there's obviously something going on, and I'd like to know what it is so I can help you with it.

Ana: Well, first, you can stay out of my private life.

Phyllis: I was trying to help nikki and --

Nick: Bull. You keep telling yourself that you took the stand to help them. All you were doing was saving yourself.

Lola: Where am I?

Kyle: In the hospital. But y-you're -- you're gonna be okay. I know the identity of lola's anonymous donor. It's summer. I gave her an incentive.

Mariah: What does that even mean?!

Kyle: [ Chuckles ] It means we're getting married. Tomorrow.

Nick: If you and kyle are just so meant to be together, then push it back to a better time, when your family isn't going through so much.

Nick: Any luck tracking down rey? Well, let me know the minute you do. If we are going to find J.T. And save these women from going to prison, we need rey on board. Yeah, I'm trying, billy, but i also have this wedding today. So for now, it's on you. Yeah. Let's talk later. Okay.

Summer: Hey. I thought I heard you in here.

Nick: [ Sighing ] Yeah. Just, uh, you know, taking care of some last-minute business.

Summer: You can't work on your daughter's wedding day.

Nick: Heh...

Summer: Oh, my god. It's my wedding day! I can't believe it.

Nick: Me neither.

Summer: What?

Nick: Nothing.

Summer: Dad.

Nick: Uh, you know, it's just, uh... you know, it's fast, summer.

Summer: Okay, yeah, for you, maybe. But I'm always gonna be your little girl.

Nick: That was never a question.

Summer: I know that it seems weird, having the wedding right after the trial.

Nick: Timing's not great.

Summer: Or, actually, you know, maybe it is. I mean, I think when something awful happens, it helps to be reminded that life is good, and to have hope for the future. And I think that this wedding is gonna help remind everybody to just enjoy the time that you have, and to be the best version of yourself possible. I mean, look, dad, life is short. And when you find happiness, you just got to grab on and never let go, right?

Nick: And kyle... he makes you happy?

Summer: Yeah. In every way.

Nick: Well, that's all i want.

Summer: Thank you.

Nick: But if there ever comes a time where he doesn't make you happy --

Summer: Oh, there won'T.

Nick: I love you forever, kid.

Nick: [ Sighs ]

[ Doorbell rings ] Oh. 'Scuse me.

Summer: Okay.

Phyllis: I let myself in. I hope you don't mind.

Nick: I do mind. I thought we agreed to meet at the club.

Phyllis: I'd like to help my daughter with her makeup and her dress.

Nick: Which you can do... at the club.

Phyllis: I also know how much it would mean to summer if we would go together as a family today. You blame me for the verdict. I get it. And I know that you must feel --

Nick: You have no idea how I feel.

Phyllis: But I'm asking you to be furious with me tomorrow. Because today is summer's day. Let's give her the happiest one she can have.

Summer: Mom! Hi!

Phyllis: Hi!

Summer: I'm so glad to see you here.

Phyllis: Hi, baby. Hi. Not every day my little girl gets married.

Summer: Look, I know that you two probably have your doubts, but I just ask that you please believe in me, because I know that one day you guys will both see that kyle and I really are meant for each other.

Jack: Hey. You forgotten what day it is?

Kyle: How could I?

Jack: You don't want to be late for your own wedding.

Kyle: I was just... contemplating the future.

Jack: It looked like you were contemplating nuclear war.

Kyle: [ Sighs ]

Jack: You sure you're ready for this?

Kyle: Absolutely.

[ Groans ]

Jack: Hey. If something is going on that's making this happen faster than you want -- or making it happen at all --

Kyle: What would make you think that?

Jack: Well, maybe the fact that the girl you've been in love with for months is in a hospital bed.

Kyle: Sometimes love makes you do the unexpected.

Jack: Son, you don't have to go through with this.

Kyle: I do. See? Practicing.

Jack: If you're not 100% certain that this is the right choice, let me tell you something -- it's better to hurt her feelings now than start a lifetime of misery together. I can make this all go away like that. Just say the word.

Kyle: Dad, I --

Jack: Learn from my mistakes. You only want to be doing this for the right reason.

Kyle: I want this more than you could possibly know.

Jack: Then my work here is done.

Kyle: [ Snorts ]

Jack: And you are running out of time. You don't want to keep your bride waiting.

Kyle: Ooh. Can't have that.

[ Chuckles ]

Jack: Kyle, I love you. I only want the best for you. I want you to have a lifetime of love.

Jack: So get dressed already.

Kyle: [ Laughs ] I'll see you there.

Tessa: Okay, you are looking at that thing every two minutes. What's the attraction?

Mariah: I saw kyle yesterday.

Tessa: Oh, did you -- did you talk some sense into him?

Mariah: Well, considering that we're currently dressed for his wedding, what does that tell you?

Tessa: Well, figured I'd ask.

Mariah: And I figured he'd be having second thoughts, but he's not answering any of my phone calls, he's not picking up texts.

Tessa: I have no idea why he's doing this. I mean, summer. Do we have time for an intervention?

Mariah: I wish. But we can'T. It's just very... very complicated. Why do I always feel the need to drop truth bombs right before somebody's about to head down the aisle?

Tessa: Are you talking about sharon? Because [Scoffs] You helped her dodge a bullet.

Mariah: Yeah, and look what good that did her. She's a convicted criminal. She's being transferred to a prison tomorrow.

Tessa: Hey, you can't give up hope. She's still got people fighting for her.

Mariah: She doesn't deserve this. She deserves to be home with me. With faith. She needs us, and we need her.

Devon: Uh-huh. Well, it's not like we had some big blow up.

Devon: Okay. You can call it that. But I was looking out for you.

Ana: You're my big brother, but that does not give you the right to go behind my back and check up on me. If you do anything like that again, I mean it -- I'm out of here.

Phyllis: I am gonna go check with the manager, make sure everything is on track.

Victor: Oh, my goodness. You look stunning, sweetheart.

Summer: Aww.

Victor: You're so beautiful.

Victor: My goodness. Look at you! How pretty are you?

Summer: Thank you. I have never been happier or more nervous in my entire life.

Victor: I bet. Yes.

Victor: Sweetheart, do you honestly think I would miss my granddaughter's wedding? Although your grandmother and your aunt can't be here, they're here in spirit, okay? I carry their blessings in my heart.

Nick: Well, I'm sure between the two of us we can get things right.

Summer: Okay.

Mariah: Wow. You look beautiful.

Tessa: Should you be wandering around dolled up already? Where's the groom?

Summer: He's on his way.

Summer: Yeah, it's our wedding day. Where else would he be? Okay, I know that you guys think that this marriage is a mistake.

Summer: You're right. It doesn'T. Because this is happening no matter what anyone thinks. This is the happiest day of my life, and I am not going to let anything or anyone ruin it. Not even you.

Tessa: We did not come here to upset you.

Summer: Well, that's good, because you couldn't even if you tried. Well, the ceremony is gonna begin any minute, so just mix and mingle and enjoy the champagne. Thanks for coming.

Summer: Hi.

Kerry: You look absolutely radiant.

Jack: Well, he was getting dressed when I left him.

Summer: Oh, then, yeah. I mean, I'm sure he'll turn up any minute, so...

Summer: Kyle? [ Sighs ] Um, it's your fiancéE. I am at the club. In fact, everyone else is at the club waiting for you, so I hope that you are on your way. And if you stand me up, just remember that selfish decisions have very bad consequences.

Devon: You know, if you want to put it all out there, let's do it, because I am having a big problem with this house of lies you've been building here.

Ana: You violated my privacy.

Devon: Yeah, 'cause -- I-I wouldn't have had to if you had been telling me the truth. All right? I've been trying to help you this whole time. I bought your songs, right?

Ana: Don't act like you were giving me charity or a loan. I worked for that. Earned every penny. I didn't know there were strings attached, though.

Devon: Just like I didn't know how deceitful you'd become.

Ana: That's not fair.

Devon: How is it not fair? You've got caught lying to me. And of all people, you're the one person that I thought i could trust. You're the one person who is closer to me than anyone else, and you lied like it was nothing. So... I'd like to know why you did it.

Phyllis: Do you think he's got a case of [Sighs] Cold feet?

Summer: What, are you trying to jinx this?

Phyllis: No, I'm not. Look, it's marriage, all right? It's a huge step. It's normal if two people are getting nervous, all right?

Summer: Okay, I'm only nervous because he's not here.

Phyllis: [ Sighs ]

Summer: I don't know. Maybe something happened to him.

Phyllis: I can see how much you love him.

Summer: There's nothing that kyle wouldn't do for me. I just have to stay positive. And if you cannot be on my side --

Phyllis: I am always on your side.

Summer: Okay, then say something that's gonna help me right now.

Phyllis: There is nothing to worry about. Nothing has happened to him. Go check your makeup, take a deep breath, and relax. You've got this.

Summer: Okay. Thank you.

Phyllis: Yes.

Jack: I can only imagine what your family is going through. When I heard the verdicts, I was dumbstruck.

Victor: An utter travesty.

Jack: Agreed. If there's anything I can do to help...

Jack: As far as this... boy, I didn't see this coming.

Victor: You mean that we might become one big happy family?

Jack: Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Victor: [ Chuckles ] You know, I must say, I'm kind of looking forward to becoming a father figure to kyle again.

Abby: Well, this is disappointing.

Arturo: What? I think the place looks nice.

Abby: Well, I thought that if we got here fashionably late, they'd be halfway through the ceremony by now.

Arturo: Hmm. I wonder what the hold up is?

Abby: Maybe the groom came to his senses.

Arturo: Okay, abby, I know how you feel about this wedding, but just, please, try and keep it to yourself.

Abby: Oh, you don't care. You never thought kyle was good enough for lola.

Arturo: Yeah, no one's ever gonna be good enough for my little sister.

Abby: Kyle adores lola. This whole wedding is bogus.

Arturo: Look, abby, I don't know for sure if rey's hunch about summer being lola's donor is true, but if it is, and he's only doing this to save lola, I don't want to stir up any trouble.

Abby: Don't worry. My lips are sealed.

Arturo: [ Sighs ] Okay. Thank you.

Summer: [ Exhales deeply ]

Phyllis: There's the father of the missing groom.

Nick: Any word from kyle?

Jack: No. Not a word.

Nick: Listen, I don't like that this happened overnight, but if he stands up my daughter --

Jack: I'm sure there's a reasonable explan-- wait. There's the man of the hour.

Kyle: Sorry I'm late.

Nick: About time.

Kyle: Wouldn't miss it for the world.

Phyllis: You can tell that to the bride.

Kyle: Anybody know where she is?

Kerry: Well, she can't be too far.

Summer: Kyle! Over here!

Kyle: Excuse me for a minute. Summer?

Summer: Kyle, I'm over here. No, no! Turn around. Turn around.

Kyle: Oh-kay. Why?

Summer: Because you can't see me in my dress.

Kyle: Seriously?

Summer: Yeah. You don't want to risk a lifetime of bad luck, do you?

Kyle: Okay. I'm sorry I'm late. I hope you weren't worried.

Summer: It's okay. You're here now, and that's what matters. Um, did you get my message?

Kyle: Hadn't had a chance to listen to it.

Summer: Good. Uh... just don'T. Just delete it.

Kyle: [ Scoffs ] Afraid I'd gotten cold feet?

Summer: No. Okay, maybe.

Kyle: Hey, I gave you my word. I'm going to honor it. This wedding means... everything to me.

Summer: Me too.

Kyle: Then what are we waiting for?

It's refreshing to see you all gathered to celebrate the love between summer and kyle. A love that I only hope grows deeper and sweeter as the years go by. Summer, kyle, I understand you've each written your own vows.

Summer: [ Sighs ] Okay. Kyle... [ Sighs ] I feel like I've loved you for a million years in a thousand different ways. Kyle: I never thought I would fall in love. Work was all I needed. And then, all of a sudden, my life went boom. Like a wrecking ball, turning everything upside down. When you experience a love that intense, it's like someone tattooed themselves on your soul. They become a part of you. I'm not sure I wanted to accept it at first, but finding someone as smart and beautiful and passionate... that doesn't happen every day. I'm not sure of anything in the world these days. Kyle: She's holding her own.

Mariah: But you haven't spoken to her at all.

Mariah: And everything's set for tomorrow?

Phyllis: Yeah, there is. Because I am someone who has not had a lot of friends, so the ones -- or the one -- that i do have really means a lot. Thank you for your support and your friendship. It's everything.

Victor: Well, kyle, I think it would be an understatement to say that our history has been somewhat complicated.

Kyle: That, it would.

Victor: Hmm. Now that you're a member of the family, perhaps we can have a new beginning.

Victor: Good. Let me ask you something -- how is it working at jabot? Now that phyllis is at the helm it doesn't leave much room for you to grow, does it?

Kyle: It's been challenging at times.

Kyle: [ Snorts softly ] I appreciate the offer, sir, but...

Victor: You think about it, okay? Door's always open -- as long as you treat my granddaughter well.

Kerry: What are you seeing that I'm not?

Jack: They haven't been married five minutes, victor's already trying to lure kyle back onto the dark side.

Kerry: Kyle can take care of himself. You've taught him well.

Jack: I'm intrigued.

Kerry: I have some intel about jabot that I think you will be very interested in.

Jack: I'm all ears.

Summer: So, isn't this the part where you congratulate us and tell me, "welcome to the family"?

Abby: There is just so much i could say right now, but... consider my silence on the matter the best gift I could give you.

Arturo: I never saw it coming, but good luck, man. I mean it.

Arturo: Excuse us.

Summer: [ Clears throat ]

Kyle: You okay?

Summer: Yeah. Yeah, just a little tired.

Kyle: You want to sit for a while? Get something to eat?

Summer: Um... you know, room service sounds nice. I booked us a suite upstairs.

Kyle: You did?

Summer: Yeah. I mean, I figured since our honeymoon was just a cover story for the surgery that we deserved one night to celebrate.

Kyle: You... really thought of everything.

Summer: Let's go say our goodbyes.

Kyle: Already?

Summer: Yeah. I mean, tomorrow is in just a few hours, and I really want to make the most of our time.

Kyle: Uh... did you...?

Summer: No. No, this was not me. I swear.

Kyle: Then who?

Summer: Um... I don't know. I bet that they do it for all the newlyweds, right?

Kyle: [ Sighs heavily ] It's not what I was expecting.

[ Snorts ]

Summer: Uh, um... look, I'm not gonna fool myself into thinking that you're completely over lola. You need time, and I get that. But I meant everything that I said in my vows. And I think that if you give this a chance to grow and blossom, that your vows will be real for you, too. No, I-I don't -- look, I don't want to rush anything more than I already have, but... I don't know. Maybe you could meet me halfway. Will you do that?

Abby: Mariah. Hey. You're kyle's friend, right?

Mariah: Yeah.

Abby: What did you think of all this?

Mariah: Um... it was really something, wasn't it?

Abby: Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Mariah: How is lola, by the way?

Arturo: She's hanging in there. We are actually heading out to go check up on her.

Arturo: Will do.

Tessa: Thanks.

Tessa: So. [ Sighs ] How long is it gonna take?

Mariah: To recover from the transplant?

Tessa: I never thought that someone with as big as a heart as yours would love me.

Mariah: And yet here we are.

[ Chuckles ]

Tessa: I would be nothing without your ridiculous jokes and watching horror movies, and the way that you pretend to like my pancakes, even when I burn them.

Mariah: No. I'm the lucky one.

Tessa: I want you to know you are not alone. We are gonna get through this craziness together.

Kerry: Phyllis is planning to keep ashley's new products out of the marketplace.

Jack: And this is written in stone?

Kerry: Well, not that I know of, but she seems awfully confident.

Jack: When do you think you might have some more details?

Kerry: She said she'd tell me more once things got underway.

Jack: I don't know how I can thank you for this.

Kerry: Oh, I can think of a few ways.

Jack: I'll get our coats.

Phyllis: Thank you for the truce.

Nick: I will do anything for our daughter.

[ Cellphone rings ] Hey, billy. What's up? Did you find rey? All right. I'm on my way.

Victor: Everything all right?

Nick: Yeah. Just got something I got to take care of.

Summer: Even though I love dressing up, there's something to be said about comfort.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] I won't argue with that.
