Kyle: We need to monitor phyllis closely, before she destroys jabot.

Billy: The only sure way to see is with his eyes.

Phyllis: [ Crying ] I trusted that you would understand why i do the things I do and actually have some faith in me!

Nick: You got to go... out of this house and out of my life.

Mia: [ Crying ] I just wanted abby to know what it's like to be humiliated, so I pushed her and ran, and that's it.

Rey: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say --

Mia: You can't do this, rey. I'm pregnant.

Arturo: What did you do to her?! Stay away from her, kyle, or i will finish you.

Jack: Have I told you lately how enticing you are?

Kerry: Is it me, or is it all the wine?

Jack: I think it's you, but i don't have anything with which to compare it.

Kerry: Oh, no! We'll have to do something about that.

Jack: No, no. Allow me. I'll get it.

Kerry: Oh, no, no, no. I know where the wine cellar is. Sit. Go! Relax.

Jack: Okay. Okay.

Kerry: You're gonna need your strength.

Jack: [ Sighs ]

[ Door slams ] Hey, hey, hey. Slow down. What's going on? What's wrong?

Kyle: Arturo.

Jack: He still won't let you see lola?

Kyle: They told me no, but i found a way around them.

Jack: How'd you pull that off? I thought they were at her bedside 24/7.

Kyle: I waited until everybody was gone, grabbed a doctor's coat, slipped in.

Jack: That's great! Isn't it?

Kyle: I got maybe three minutes with her -- three minutes to tell her I love her and I miss her, that I want to be together again, how much she means to me, three minutes to -- to hold her hand, to -- to see her face.

Jack: I am impressed. You were on her brothers' do-not-fly list.

Kyle: And I only made things worse. Arturo showed up. The only thing that kept him from taking off my head was the fact that lola was there.

Jack: I'm sure you've told them she tried to track you down to talk to you, to put things back together for you two.

Kyle: They won't listen! Nothing that I say or do is getting through to them. How the hell am I supposed to tell her how much she means to me if I only have three minutes? She needs me there, dad. She needs to hear my voice.

Jack: Okay. Give them time. Give them space. They can't keep you away from her forever. Eventually, she's gonna come to, kyle.

Kyle: [ Scoffs ]

Jack: What?

Kyle: Two glasses... empty bottle of château corton.

Jack: [ Sighs ]

Kyle: You could have told me to high-tail it out of here.

Kyle: Having a little romantic evening that i completely tanked?

Kerry: Hi, kyle! It's always a pleasure to see you.

Kyle: Me, with my perfect timing?

Kerry: Actually, it is. It is. I just got a call from jabot. Our newest shade in our dazzling diamonds collection is a little more mud than magnifique, so, unfortunately, it's back to the drawing board.

Jack: Wait. Tonight? Somebody else can't handle it?

Kerry: Not as well as I can. I'll see you soon, kyle.

Kyle: No doubt. Good luck.

Jack: I'll walk you out. Here, I got it. Okay. Be honest. There was no emergency.

Kerry: There is. But it's yours... right there. He needs you more than I need you right now. Call me later.

Jack: Count on it.

Kerry: Okay.

Jack: Son, I know this is weighing on you heavily, but i have no doubt in my mind lola is gonna pull through this.

Kyle: I know she will. She has to. What I want to know right now is how did this even happen? Who would hurt her?

Mia: It's what we've always wanted.

Rey: It'S...what I've always wanted. You, not so much.

Mia: It's a miracle, rey! The best kind -- the kind you don't plan for. This baby changes everything for us, okay? It'll bring us closer together. It will bring more love into this little family.

Rey: I wish I could believe you, mia.

Mia: You have to. This means -- this means you can't arrest me for what I did to lola, because if you do... this baby gets born behind bars. You can't want that for your own child.

Rey: When did you find out?

Mia: The timing is so confusing. I haven't been sleeping, worried about lola, and you were at work.

Rey: Yeah. Where's the test that proves you're positive?

I threw it away.

Rey: In the trash?

Mia: No. You threw out the trash last night.

Rey: You are so good at destroying evidence.

Mia: You have to believe me, rey. This is real. I wish I did have the test so you could see it for yourself.

Rey: Well, mia, we'll just have to get another one, then -- see if this baby is...real... or just another lie... to get yourself out of going to prison for what you did to my sister.

Mia: [ Crying ]

Summer: Oh, my god. Finally. I was beginning to wonder if you really existed.

Phyllis: I wish I didn'T.

Summer: Gee, I've been literally looking for you everywhere. You're not getting your caffeine fix at crimson lights. You're not cutting through red tape at the police station. You're not drowning your sorrows at the athletic club or burying yourself into work at jabot.

Phyllis: What do you need?

Summer: Well, I need some answers. For starters, what the heck is going on, mom?

Phyllis: What have you heard?

Summer: Everything, I think, and secondhand, thank you very much, although I'm still trying to figure out why or how you were involved in all this craziness with J.T.

Phyllis: Yeah. It's kind of a long story.

Summer: Okay. Well, no sweat, 'cause I have all the time in the world. By the way, why are you packing? Are you planning on skipping town?

Phyllis: Crossed my mind.

[ Cellphone rings ] Hello? This is she. Yes. Uh, I am on my way. Thank you.

Summer: Who was that?

Phyllis: The athletic club. Um, they are just confirming my reservation.

Summer: What? Why?

Phyllis: [ Sighs ] I guess you are ready to hear this from the horse's mouth. Uh... nick has thrown me out. He's thrown me out of his house, and he has thrown me out of his life.

Nick: What do I need to know?

Billy: Tell him what you just told me.

Michael: I want you to know my trial strategy in regard to your mother and sister so there are no surprises.

Nick: Great. Let's hear it.

Michael: Well, best-case scenario, there's an acquittal.

Nick: On what grounds?

Michael: Insufficient evidence to find them guilty.

Nick: And how are you going to do that?

Michael: By keeping both those women as far from the witness stand as possible.

Billy: Which, in my opinion, is a terrible idea. Look, victoria deserves a chance to get on the stand and tell her side of the story. She was the only one in the room with J.T. If she's not able to give her testimony to the judge and the jury, tell them what she actually lived through, then this trial is over before it even started and victoria's never gonna get out of jail. Billy: Victoria has to testify. So does nikki. I mean, come on, michael. If they just sit there silent while christine keeps all these accusations, everybody's gonna think that it's true. And the truth is J.T. Was out of control. And before he was able to actually finish the job, nikki jumped in and saved her daughter's life, okay? That is defensible. They need to be able to defend themselves.

Michael: I appreciate your passion. And while it may seem like putting victoria and nikki on the stand is a simple fix. Upon cross-examination, christine will dismantle their story. She will pick apart everything they've said and done since that night. And make no mistake. Nikki and victoria lied. They lied to me. They lied to the police. They've lied ad infinitum.

Billy: Portray them as sympathetic people that got caught in a situation that they never intended to be in. It is them against every woman's nightmare. J.T. Took advantage of them, and now the justice system's gonna do the same thing. What do you think?

Nick: I'm with michael on this one. I think if they take the stand, it just opens them up to more questions and problems, and, honestly, phyllis is who we need to worry about right now.

Michael: Christine's secret weapon.

Billy: Then talk to her. Make sure she doesn't say anything that's gonna throw the others under the bus.

Nick: Since when has anyone ever been able to control or predict what phyllis does or says? She is out for herself. If I ever doubted that, i certainly don't right now. Cross. Make the jury question her credibility. That shouldn't be very hard.

Michael: It's our best chance at an acquittal.

Billy: [ Groans ]

Michael: Billy, I know what I'm doing. You have to trust me for now.

Billy: The second this thing starts to go sideways, we reconvene... and we come up with a different strategy. You agree?

Michael: Agreed.

Nick: There is, uh, something else you should know. I was given another search warrant today.

Michael: For the ranch? I thought they were done there.

Nick: This one's for dark horse. Right now the cops are going through my servers.

Michael: Why? What would they be looking for?

Tessa: I know that you didn't get a wink of sleep last night.

Mariah: I just kept thinking about christine bringing me in for questioning. I don't know. Everything I said, she just warped it and turned it around until I didn't know what I said. And even though I tried to tell her that my mom wanted no part of anything that happened that night... I can't help but wonder if i made things worse.

Tessa: No. Unh-unh. You are incapable of making things worse. Hey. Look at me. Don't beat yourself up. You are doing the best you can. You're helping with faith, keeping an eye on this place. You know that if there's anything you need, I'm yours.

Mariah: Well, I was kind of hoping you would say that.

Tessa: Anything you need.

Mariah: Don't be so quick to agree... because what I'm about to ask you... might be the hardest thing you've done in a while.

Mia: How could you think that I would make up a lie about a baby and expect to get away with it?

Rey: I don't know what you are capable of anymore.

Mia: [ Crying ] I am terrified, rey! This is one of the happiest moments in our lives, and I'm terrified! You know what they do to pregnant women in jail -- strap them down while they're giving birth, treat them like animals. You want that for your child... for me?

Rey: What do you expect me to do, mia -- look the other way? You committed a crime.

Mia: It was an accident. I never intended...

Rey: You think just because it wasn't abby that -- that it's all right? It's all right, what happened?

Mia: You weren't there at the club when she was calling me names in front of everyone. Ugly things she said, making accusations. I thought she'd be okay. She'd be angry, but she'd live.

Rey: But it was lola, and she hit her head, and if kyle hadn't been there to pull her out of that pool, she would --

Mia: It happened so fast.

Rey: Not fast enough that you didn't have time to smash her phone while you were at it.

Mia: It was a stupid, childish prank, and I wish i could turn back time so it would never happen.

Rey: But you can'T.

Mia: No. I can'T. I know I did something bad. But it's not worth going to jail for. Don't make our baby pay for my mistakes. Please, rey.

[ Cellphone rings ] Arturo.

Arturo: You need to come to the hospital -- now.

Rey: All right. I'm on my way.

Mia: What happened? Is she all right?

Rey: [ Muttering ] You are coming with me. I am not letting you out of my sight. Come on.

Phyllis: You know how hard it is to prove domestic violence in court?

Phyllis: So we, uh... went to go dig up the body, try to --

Summer: Wait. Dug up the body?

Phyllis: Well, we tried, but it wasn't there. They found his watch, but that's it.

Summer: Okay, wait. So, J.T. Could just be... roaming around?

Phyllis: Well, I mean, in the zombie version...

Summer: Oh, god.

Phyllis: ...In the movie. But the police started to investigate, and they found evidence that was pointing to victor, and he was arrested, so, you know, nikki was struggling with the pressure of that, and she confessed.

Summer: Wait. But you guys made a pact.

Phyllis: She tried to make it look like she did all of it on her own, but that story fell apart.

Summer: So then you went and talked to the D.A.?

Phyllis: I felt like they needed to know the whole truth.

Summer: Yeah, but you guys were all in it together. You made a pact. And now the three of them are going on trial.

Phyllis: Yeah. And I'm as free as a bird.

Summer: Okay, and that's why dad kicked you out.

Phyllis: Yeah. He thinks I'm doing this for self-preservation reasons, and he's wrong. You know, sticking together, it would have destroyed us all. Nikki did so much during this, but I know that I can show christine and the jury... how things went... that maybe J.T. Didn't deserve to die... but he was dangerous. He was unpredictable. He was physically violent. He was a threat. And what nikki did, what we all did, that night was none of our choosing. We were backed in a corner, and there was only one way out.

Summer: So, what's gonna happen to grandma?

Phyllis: No jury is ever gonna find her guilty. She's a mother protecting her child. You show me one parent who sees their child in danger who would do it differently, and I got to believe she will never be convicted. But if she is, it'll be because of you? I mean, that's what they're gonna say.

Phyllis: Tell me, baby, what -- what do you think? Do you think I did the wrong thing?

Michael: Hey, christine. This is michael. If you could call me as soon as you get a chance, there are some issues about discovery that have come up. Thank you.

Billy: Discovery?

Michael: Yes. The prosecutor's office is obligated by law to share any evidence they plan to use at trial.

Billy: She doesn't have to share this evidence as soon as it drops in her lap?

Michael: She'll probably drag her feet for as long as she can, in fact.

[ Sighs ] Gives us a shorter time to refute or respond. Frankly, I'd do the same. But the sooner we find what this evidence is, the sooner we can strategize.

[ Sighs ] I got to get back to the office. I'm sorry.

Billy: Let us know if anything comes up, all right?

Michael: [ Sighing ] Yeah.

Billy: And, uh, I'm gonna go check on the kids. Just let yourself out.

Michael: All right. I'll be in touch.

Nick: Yep.

[ Cellphone rings ] Hey, mariah. How are you?

Mariah: I could be better. Listen, if you're not busy right now, I would really love to talk to you.

Nick: About what?

Mariah: Sharon, and it's probably safer if we didn't do this on the phone.

Nick: All right. Meet me at dark horse.

Mariah: Great. I'll see you soon. Thank you so much for doing this, tessa.

Tessa: Yeah.

Mariah: Are you scared?

Tessa: No. Just terrified.

Rey: Hey. Catch me up. What's going on with lola?

Nate: So, everyone on lola's team has been keeping a close eye on her liver function, and i hope her numbers would have turned around and she would have stabilized, but the fact is her liver is failing. She's going to need a transplant.

Rey: Okay. Transplant. All right, and then she's gonna be all right, right?

Nate: As far as things stand right now, I mean, barring a rejection of the donor liver, so I'd like to take it one step at a time.

Rey: Yeah. Okay. Wh-wh-what can we do? What needs to happen?

Nate: So, that is the one good thing that is in our favor, is we can use a living donor. So, we take a part of a liver from someone who's a match, her new liver grows, and the donor liver replaces what's been donated.

Rey: Who's gonna be the donor?

Nate: Well, we have to test some volunteers, find someone who's a match, and since lola has such a big family, it only makes sense to start here with you.

Arturo: Yeah. Yeah.& Sign us up.

Rey: Yeah, yeah. Test our blood -- whatever you need to do.

Arturo: Are you in?

Mia: I actually have some health issues that might get in the way.

Nate: Okay. Well, then I'll take the two of you down to the lab to get things started.

Rey: You stay here.

Mia: But how long will it take?

Rey: I don't know. But when I get back, we're gonna go to the pharmacy and get a pregnancy test and find out if you really have health issues or not.

Mia: [ Sighs ]

Billy: I just left a meeting with michael and nick. Looks like they'll go to court tomorrow morning.

Jack: How's that looking?

Billy: Well, right now it's anyone's guess. But what I do know is that there's somebody going out of their way to make everything worse -- phyllis.

Summer: Look, do you remember when I asked you if there was any way that you could forgive me for what I did with billy and you told me that a mother's love is unshakable?

Phyllis: Did I say that?

Summer: Yes. My love for you is the exact same way, mom. I mean, look, we've had a really tough year. It's barely even started. And I know that we can't go back and fix things. But if there's a time that we should have each other's backs, I think this is it. I mean, you're a savage, mom.

Phyllis: I beg your pardon.

Summer: No, it's a good thing. It's who you want on your team. You know, she kicks butt, she takes names, and she makes some really tough decisions. And, look, mom, not everyone is always gonna agree with those choices, but turns out they're always for the best. Just sometimes you got to risk being unpopular, but you've always got your family.

Phyllis: Though it may be small.

Summer: Okay, but I believe in you... no matter what.

Phyllis: [ Sighs ] What would I -- what would I do without you, kid?

Summer: Well, you know, lucky for you, I'm never gonna give you the chance to find that out.

Phyllis: [ Sighs ] Okay. I got to get back to packing, okay? Nick's gonna be home soon.

Summer: You know, please just don't -- don't pack too much. Give dad a couple of days, and he will realize what a huge mistake he made, and he'll be begging you to come back in no time. I promise.

Phyllis: I'm way ahead of you. I only booked a week at the hotel.

[ Chuckles softly ]

Summer: I'm so glad that we're on the same team, mom.

Mia: I've always said if science could find a way to bottle that pregnancy glow that pregnant women have, oh, my god, some company out there would make $1 million in a heartbeat. I can see it now -- "the preggo glow by jabot."

[ Both laugh ]

I'd settle for not having to go to the bathroom every five minutes. Oh.

Nick: Well, I don't have a lot of time. I was just served a search warrant for dark horse's internet servers.

Tessa: Uh, th-that's why we're here.

Mariah: Christine called me in to give a statement.

Nick: What about?

Mariah: The party at victoria'S.

Nick: What does christine think you could possibly offer?

Mariah: She asked about a video -- one that shows nikki, victoria, phyllis, and sharon dragging a rug into the garage and then loading it into victoria's car.

Tessa: J.T. Had hidden a camera in victoria's garage, and the video was on the dark horse servers.

Nick: Because I had all those files.

Tessa: I found them when you asked me to clear them, and i used them to blackmail nikki.

Mariah: But why do I get the feeling that you already know all that?

Billy: Phyllis claims that she's working with the D.A. To protect the other three women. I knew it before, but she's proving it all over again. She can't be trusted.

Jack: Would you be saying the same if things between the two of you hadn't ended so badly?

Billy: I'm not the only one that believe so, jack. It's the opinion of the three women that are in jail and her current love interest.

Jack: Wait. Nick said that?

Billy: Look, the mother of my children is in jail right now, with no visitation and no bail. Phyllis is out free, walking around, taking up her old life like nothing happened, sleeping in her warm, comfortable bed. She called a meeting at jabot, and she walked in like she had the world on a string, talking about protecting the family and unity and blah, blah, blah, all about the team. I mean... what are you thinking?

Kyle: [ Sighs ] She's got to act like her hands are clean, or the employees and the board lose confidence. If that happens, we lose our foothold in the industry.

Billy: It's our family company, jack. This is john abbott's legacy. If we don't protect it, who will?

Kyle: Billy's right. We have to do something.

Jack: Yeah, but what?

Billy: We take back the company. Kyle and I have talked about it before. The time is now. But we can't do it without you.

Rey: [ Sighs ]

[ Footsteps approach ] I told you to wait here.

Mia: You were taking so long, I got worried. How were the tests?

Rey: Fine. Arturo's still in the lab.

Mia: And if they say you're a match and you can donate part of your liver to lola, it's safe, right? I'm just worried about the baby and me. I don't know what we would do without you, rey.

Rey: Yeah, well, lola is the one that I'm concerned about right now, and you should be, too.

Mia: I am.

Rey: Because if she doesn't get through this, if she doesn't pull through...

Mia: Don't even think like that, rey.

Rey: ...You're gonna be facing a murder charge. So, let's go.

Mia: Where?

Rey: To the pharmacy to get a pregnancy test.

Mia: I was hoping to see lola. Maybe if I tell her about the baby, she'll wake up and -- and all this will go away.

Rey: Don't worry. She'll be here when we get back.

Mariah: You knew about the video.

Nick: And the blackmail.

Mariah: Let me guess. Phyllis?

Tessa: It doesn't matter who told him. I was wrong. I never should have used the video like that to get sharon and the others to give me money. It was the worst thing I've ever done, and you have no idea how sorry I am.

Nick: [ Sighs ] Where's the video now?

Tessa: Gone, destroyed.

Mariah: We thought that chapter was over.

Nick: In this story, the dead don't stay buried. The prosecution will do whatever it takes to get a copy of that video, whether it's deleted or not. You knew she did this?

Mariah: I found out afterward.

Nick: Yet you are still with her, even though you know she scared people that you love into giving her a quarter of a million dollars.

Mariah: Look, it wasn't easy. It didn't happen overnight. But, yes, we worked through it.

Tessa: Until christine started asking questions about the video. And you would be in your rights to go to the police and tell them what I did.

Nick: You're damn right i would. And what's to stop me from doing that?

Mariah: Me. I haven't eaten. I can't sleep. This has been a nightmare, thinking that I might possibly lose sharon, and I can't bear to lose tessa, as well.

Nick: Look, mariah, you are a grown woman. You can do whatever you want. But trust me when I say this. Be careful about who you let into your heart.

Mariah: We've made our choice. What are you gonna do?

Nick: Going to the police will just hurt those who are involved. Christine will think giving in to a blackmailer is an admission of guilt.

Tessa: So... what do we do now?

Nick: You two are gonna go. I have work to do.

Phyllis: Hi. Thank you for meeting me.

Kerry: Of course.

Phyllis: I wasn't sure if you had plans with jack.

Kerry: Well, we did, but he needed some time with kyle, so i begged off.

Phyllis: Things are going well, then?

Kerry: Yeah. Things are... developing quite nicely.

Phyllis: Well, it's very nice to see you so happy -- not that I am surprised. Jack is a great guy.

Kerry: Yeah. Usually when I date someone, i prefer to keep them at a distance. You know, I never let them get too close. But with jack... he makes me feel safe, happy, respected. It's like he sees me -- all of me... and he likes what he sees.

Phyllis: He deserves some good.

Kerry: Okay. Now that we've got my love life out of the way, what's the real reason you called?

Phyllis: I need a friend... a comrade in arms. We're going to war.

Jack: Phyllis earned her place at jabot fair and square.

Billy: Jack, and what has she done since? Covered up a major crime. If we keep her at the helm while this trial plays out, that could be a huge miss for us.

Jack: If you're suggesting something unethical, count me out. I learned my lesson after what happened with ashley.

Billy: Nothing underhanded, but I can't deny that we won't get our hands dirty.

Jack: Please elaborate there.

Billy: We're gonna need some inside intel... and it's gonna have to come from her closest confidante... kerry.

Phyllis: I did what I had to do the night that J.T. Hellstrom was killed -- and every day after. I made a deal with the D.A. That gave me protection, and it is my intention to protect my friends as well as jabot. And since I am the face of the company, I will also be a target.

Kerry: Who do you think will try to take you down?

Billy: Jack, I know this is a big request, but we cannot leave phyllis in as C.E.O.

Jack: You're asking me to put a woman I have significant feelings for in the middle of this.

Kyle: Nobody wants your relationship to be collateral damage. We like kerry.

Jack: Yeah, so do I. Try to pull this off without getting her involved.

Kyle: We can'T. Phyllis has a closed-door policy these days. She's shutting down and shutting us out.

Billy: We need to know what kerry knows, jack, before it's too late for jabot.

Rey: Whenever you're ready.

Mia: This is what we've become? You can't even take me at my own word?

Rey: I want to believe you as much as I want my sister to recover... my sister you put in the hospital.

Mia: But I never meant to hurt her. Please, rey. You have to believe me.

Michael: A video?

Nick: On the dark horse internet server.

Michael: All right. Okay. Well, at least we know what the police were looking for with that search warrant. And this whole blackmail scheme -- it might be something we're able to use to our benefit.

Nick: But my mom paid up. It's gonna make her look guilty, like she has something to hide.
