Episode #11543 ~ Nikki makes a dangerous mistake; Lauren tests Kyle; Nick has trouble keeping his cool.

Phyllis: Nick and I are solid. Billy, isn't that what I told you when you wanted us to get back together?

Victoria: What?

Phyllis: Yeah. Right before he wanted to get back together with you.

Billy: If you really want to be honest about why we didn't work out, ask yourself if there's anything else that i could have done, and then ask yourself if you're capable of caring about anyone anymore.

Victoria: Where were you, honey?

Katie: Playing hide-and-seek with my friend.

Victoria: Where, exactly? We've been looking all over for you.

Kyle: As you can clearly see, my hashtags haven't smudged a bit. Living proof for the product's effectiveness in water.

Fen: What are we feeling tonight?

Summer: I need something to drink.

Fen: Something to drink. All right. Uh...

Summer: Yes.

Kyle: We can go somewhere else.

Kyle: [ Sighs ]

Lauren: So, this is a place of business.

Kyle: Which is why I show up here at 8:00 A.M. Every day.

Lauren: Right. To work. Not to make personal calls.

Kyle: That was a college buddy who's just landed a sweet new gig as a buyer for a chain of beauty stores in china. He's agreed to sit down with phyllis to discuss creating shelf space for all the new products kerry's developing.

Lauren: That is wonderful. But shouldn't your top priority be the fenmore's photo shoot today?

Kyle: Everything's under control. Studio's booked. Photographer's all set. Hair and makeup are good to go.

Lauren: Good. Now what about the models? You got some hot-looking guys? And when I say hot, I mean sizzling.

Kyle: Scorching. Spent weeks finding two who were perfect for the job.

Lauren: They better be.

Kyle: Summer and I worked on the project for months. I know how much is riding on it for fenmore's and jabot.

Lauren: We need you to deliver on this.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Kyle: [ Sighs ]

Katie: Do you want to meet my new friend?

J.T.: Then why?!

Victoria: Stop! Get off of me! Aaah!

[ Poker thuds ]

[ Shovel scrapes ]

Nikki: Stop! [ Whimpers ]

Katie: Grandma, are you okay?

Nick: Busy day?

Phyllis: Yes. Got back-to-back meetings and a spring photo shoot for fenmore'S. What about you?

Nick: I think I'm gonna swing by the ranch and check on mom and dad before I head in to dark horse. Uh... I don't know where my keys are. Have you seen them?

Phyllis: Uh, they're in the other room. Next to my phone. I hope.

Nick: You know what? We... forgot something.

Phyllis: Oh, yeah? What's that?

Nick: Just to tell you how glad I am that we got past --

Phyllis: I know. Me too. I would hate not to start my day like this.

Summer: Could you not? I'm trying to eat, here, so I'd rather not see my parents, you know...

Phyllis: Happy?

Nick: Aren't you supposed to be at newman?

Summer: I'm meeting victoria this afternoon.

Phyllis: Kind of getting a late start to your day, aren't you?

Summer: Well, I didn't really sleep much last night since I'm still working through the jet lag. And the whiplash.

Nick: Whiplash?

Summer: Yeah, you two. You know, together, not together. It's really hard on the neck.

Phyllis: You know, if it's too much for you --

Summer: I will power through. But, you know, I'm just curious. This thing with you guys, is it casual or something more?

Victoria: Billy! [ Sighs ] How did you get in?

Billy: Well, I have a key.

Victoria: Which you know not to randomly use.

Billy: And I didn'T.

Victoria: And yet here you are.

Billy: Because I saw hannah on the way out, and I told her that you wouldn't mind.

Victoria: Well, I do.

[ Sighs ] So what are you doing here?

Billy: Well, last time i checked, my kids live here, and it was circled on the calendar as a day off of school.

Victoria: Yeah, well, you should have called.

Billy: Okay. But I'm here now.

Victoria: Well, they're not. Johnny's at a friend's house, and katie's at the ranch.

Billy: Why didn't you tell me about the change in plans?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] You know what, in the future, i will let you know what the kids' schedule is every time. You know where the front door is.

Billy: Okay, look, the kids might not be here, but I am. So can we talk, please?

Victoria: The last time we talked, you told me that I was incapable of having feelings for anyone. So I don't think we really have anything else to say, do you?

Nikki: Honey, I am so sorry I scared you. Silly me, I was talking to my tablet.

Katie: Like when johnny yells at his video games?

Nikki: Yes. Exactly. Now, I happen to know that there's hot chocolate and cookies out in the kitchen. Shall we?

[ Gasps ] And then, after that, if grandpa is done working upstairs, we can go out and feed the horses. How about that?

Katie: Yes.

Nikki: [ Chuckles ] Yes? "Yes." Try to show a little enthusiasm. Now, what's the name of your favorite horse?

Kyle: How did you -- the text was a group text.

Lauren: Yes, it sure was. And phyllis knows about it, too. So what's your plan?

Kyle: My first thought was to postpone.

Lauren: Which we can'T.

Kyle: Which I quickly discarded. Too many deadlines are already in place. The shoot has to happen today.

Lauren: Right. Right. So how are you gonna make that happen?

Kyle: By doing what I always do -- working my butt off.

[ Sighs ] Claire. Get me the name and number of every modeling agency within 100 miles.

[ Sighs ]

Summer: Okay, look, I'm not a kid hoping that we can be a family again. I'm just curious. So if you'd rather not answer, it's fine.

Nick: It's not that. It's just, uh...

Phyllis: We don't know what the future holds for us.

Summer: Okay. So you're just, what, having fun and seeing where things go?

Phyllis: It's [Sighs] Not a casual hookup.

Nick: It feels right being together, and for now, that's enough.

Phyllis: Yeah. We love each other. We do.

Summer: That's -- that's good. You know, I'm -- I'm happy for you.

Nick: [ Scoffs ] But?

Summer: Nothing. I just --

[ Sighs ] I can't help wondering...

Nick: What? Just say it.

Summer: Okay. Are you guys keeping things casual because you know that, deep down, you both are just rebounding?

Nick: No!

Phyllis: Absolutely not!

Nick: No. Look, your mom and I put our relationships with sharon and billy behind us before we got together.

Summer: If you say so.

Nick: We just need some time to chill and relax and not feel like we have to hit some arbitrary deadline on putting a label on our relationship.

Phyllis: Okay, so, "casual"

[Sighs] Can mean no commitment, but for us, it means no pressure.

Summer: Okay, look -- you guys are two unattached, single adults. So undefined is fine.

Phyllis: Thank you. Not that we need your approval.

Summer: Oh, you never have. Anyway, I am more concerned about grandpa going to prison than whatever you two are doing.

Nick: Well, finding out who's framing your grandpa is my number-one priority.

Summer: Well, I hope you can pull it off.

Nick: Have some faith in your old man. I'm gonna clear my dad's name, and put an end to all these rumors about what happened to J.T.

Summer: I'm fine with grandpa being innocent. But, I mean, if he didn't kill J.T., Then any ideas who did?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Why are you still here?

Billy: Look, I was out of line the other day.

Victoria: Whoa, whoa. Hold on a second. Is that supposed to be an apology? Because I didn't hear the word "jerk" or "sorry" in there at all.

Billy: I'm sorry. I was a jerk. But I just --

Victoria: But? There are no buts! No, I'm sorry. You -- you were mean, and -- and you were hurtful, and there's no way to justify that. PBilly: You're right, okay? But I just want you to know that that's actually not how I feel. Vick, we were getting to a good place, and then phyllis came and -- and blew it up.

Victoria: [ Exclaims ] She told the truth.

Billy: The distorted truth, okay? I would never, ever look at you as my second best. And I would never use you to make phyllis jealous. I couldn't get you to understand that, and what I said was hurtful, and -- and --

Victoria: That's a nice one-sided version of what happened. You're "angry" and you're "frustrated"?

Billy: Yes, I was.

Victoria: Oh-ho! Well, what about "vindictive"?

Billy: Come on. I'm not being vin--

Victoria: You saw me kissing cane, and you went straight to lily, and you told her everything.

Billy: Lily deserved to know what cane was up to.

Victoria: Don't pretend like you're some sort of a hero. You're not. No, you -- you meant to hurt people -- cane, lily, and me.

Billy: It was a reaction in the heat of the moment. But I did not mean what I said to you.

Victoria: Oh, of course you did. You wouldn't have said it if you didn't believe it. So go ahead. Admit it. Go ahead. You think I'm a cold, heartless bitch.

Billy: No, I don'T. Vick, I don'T. But you do, and that's what's bothering you, right? You actually believe what I said is true. (Vo) imagine a visibly healthier pet

[ Cellphone buzzing ] What do you think? Fen!

Fen: What?

Ana: Could you put your phone down for two seconds and focus on what we're doing?

Fen: [ Sighs ] Sorry. All right? My buddies from school are blowing up my phone. I mean, they can't believe i went from constitutional law to a recording star in less than a semester.

Ana: One song attracting some interest doesn't make you a star. It takes a lot of hard work, determination, and dedication.

Fen: Yeah, well, I'm ready to hit the studio.

Ana: You need a song. You know, that thing we're supposed to be working on?

[ Cellphone buzzes ]

Fen: Yeah. Sure.

Ana: Now.

Fen: Oh, my god. Fine.

Kyle: I know they're not available. Find me two models who are. Two who are right for the job!

[ Cellphone vibrates ] I got to go. Keep looking.

[ Sighs ] Max! Got something for me? Jason? No, no. He's all wrong.

[ Stammers ]

[ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ] Ana. Who's in charge of lily's modeling agency while she's away?

Fen: Hey, kyle. Nice to see you, too.

Kyle: Sorry. I have a situation. I need a couple male models for a spring fashion shoot today. Is there anyone I can contact over at hamilton-winters?

Ana: [ Hisses ] Afraid not. Devon had to mothball the& modeling division. It was lily's baby. Without her, he didn't see the point in keeping it going.

Kyle: Damn it.

Fen: [ Scoffs ] Yeah, it sucks for you that lily's in prison.

Kyle: Shut up, fen. Ana knows that's not what I meant. I'm under a lot of pressure today.

Fen: Oh, I know.

[ Clicks tongue ] It's rough. You know, living in the abbott mansion, driving a fancy sports car, drawing in a big salary at the family company. You know, maybe -- maybe it's your love life that sucks.

Kyle: Huh. At least I have one.

Fen: Oh. I guess that means your date night with lola ended the way you hoped.

Kyle: Sounds like you're jealous.

Fen: [ Snorts ] Are you kidding? Your night could not compare to mine and summer'S. We got totally lit.

Kyle: Classy as always, fen.

Fen: Yeah, okay. This coming from the guy who got naked on national tv.

Kyle: Shouldn't you be waiting tables somewhere?

Fen: Well, ana and I are working on my next hit song.

Ana: Are we?

Kyle: Sounds like you put as much effort into your music career as you do with your relationship with women.

Ana: That better start to change.

Kyle: Listen to her. This singing thing is the only thing you have going for you, dude.

Fen: Well, uh, I have summer, so...

Kyle: You're crazy if you think this thing between you and summer is gonna last. Couple dates and she'll realize what a jerk you are.

Fen: Yeah, okay. Keep telling yourself that.

Ana: Children! Are you done?

Kyle: I am. Good luck working with this guy.

Fen: [ Scoffs ] Dude's so jealous of me and summer. You could totally see it all over his face.

Ana: You know what I can see?

Fen: What?

Ana: How little we're getting done.

Fen: [ Sighs ] Sorry.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] What part of "I expect you to be gone when I get back from the kitchen" did you not understand?

Billy: I heard what you said.

Victoria: Well, obviously it didn't register.

Billy: Well, this is important.

Victoria: So is my job, and I have to get to work.

Billy: Vick, work can wait.

Victoria: Says the man who sets his own hours.

Billy: Okay, we're not finished.

Victoria: I am.

Billy: We're not worth five minutes of your time?

Victoria: There is no "we," billy.

Billy: Well, there could be.

Victoria: [ Scoffs ] Do we really have to go through all of this again? Do we?

Billy: No, we don'T. Let's not talk about us, then. Let's just -- let's talk about you.

Victoria: How cold and unfeeling I am?

Billy: What I said was stupid and thoughtless, and it is not true, okay? And if anything, I want you to believe that.

Victoria: Is that all?

Billy: No. Vick [Scoffs] We were getting to a good thing here, okay? We were building something. And now you're acting like you -- you can't even stand being in the same room as me. I mean, is that how you feel right now?

Victoria: You're johnny and katie's father. You'll always be a part of my life.

Billy: But I want to be more than just johnny and katie's father.

Victoria: Too much has happened. I can't just pretend that you didn't try to get back together with phyllis and then decide to get back together with me.

Billy: Okay, well, here's irony for you -- I'm actually here because of phyllis.

Victoria: I have to go.

Billy: I didn't want to come here, but she made me realize that that would be a mistake.

Summer: God. I can't even imagine what aunt vicki's going through. Knowing that her dad could go to prison for murdering J.T. When he's the one that tried to kill grandpa.

Phyllis: I'm sure she regrets getting involved with her ex again.

Summer: Yeah.

Nick: Well, I sure as hell do. If I had know what he was gonna do...

Summer: Wow. [ Chuckles ] Dad, that killer instinct, it's very intense.

Phyllis: I don't think that's what your father meant.

Summer: Well, I mean, I'd understand if it was. This guy beats up your sister and then tries to murder your dad. Who wouldn't want to kill a guy like that?

Nick: [ Sighs ]

Phyllis: Can we please talk about something else other than J.T.?

Summer: Okay, hey, I am grateful for him. He is the poster boy for why I am single.

Nick: Summer, not every guy out there is a jerk.

Summer: No, just the ones that I choose.

Nick: Austin and luca are ancient history.

Phyllis: Yes, and hopefully you learned from your mistakes.

Nick: I'm sure she has. You just need to trust your judgment, 'cause I do.

Phyllis: If you hold back because of fear, you will find a guy who's gonna hurt you instead of really having a good chance of meeting someone great. I know I almost did.

Nick: I think what your mom is trying to say is, don't let what happened to your aunt victoria stop you from putting yourself out there.

Summer: It won'T. I promise. Anyway, have a good day.

Nick: You okay?

Phyllis: Lying to my daughter about a murder that I helped to cover up? Yeah, I'm -- I'm doing great.

[ Sighs ]

[ Doorbell rings ]

Ana: What's this?

Fen: It's the bridge for the song we're working on.

Ana: You're lamer than I thought.

Fen: [ Scoffs ] Excuse me?

Ana: I finished the bridge an hour ago.

Fen: Okay. How was I supposed to know that?

Ana: I don't know. Maybe because i showed it to you?

Fen: All right. I forgot, okay?

[ Scoffs ] Look, what's the big deal?

Ana: The big deal is, you're not taking this seriously.

Fen: No, I am totally into my career.

Ana: You're into being a star. There's a lot more to it than that. All you've done since you've been here is take phone calls and texts from your friends and shade kyle.

Fen: Okay. Look, um... you are super dedicated. I get it. But if we spend all of our time trying to come up with new lyrics, then we won't have enough real-life experiences worth writing about.

Ana: Trust me, I have plenty of real-life experience.

Fen: Look, we are two totally different people, and I think we both bring something.

Ana: The problem is, I'm bringing way more than you right now.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Ana: You take that. I might as well do this on my own.

Fen: What, are you ditching me?

Ana: I have a lot riding on this, fen.

[ Ringing continues ] Obviously more than you.

Fen: Ana, come on. Ana!

[ Sighs ] Hey. What's up? You want me to do what?

Phyllis: Kyle, I'm heading down to the photo shoot. Are you coming?

Kyle: Just working out a few last-minute details.

Phyllis: Now?

Kyle: Nothing major.

Phyllis: You know how important this is, right?

Kyle: Synergy project was my baby.

Phyllis: I gave you this opportunity to prove yourself. Do not mess it up.

Kyle: Not part of the plan.

Phyllis: Okay. I am impressed, though, so far. Jennifer wennerholt's one of the best photographers out there. We used her just recently for one of our photo shoots. But I saw the models you hired -- exactly what we're looking for.

[ Pats arm ] Good job.

Kyle: Y-yeah, about them --

Lauren: Kyle, I solved your model problem. You know, uh --

Phyllis: What problem? What model problem?

Kyle: I was just about to tell you.

Lauren: Yeah, didn't you get the text that our models got stuck in new york?

Phyllis: Is that the last-minute detail that you were talking about?

Kyle: I'm working on replacing them. I didn't want to settle. This campaign's too important.

Lauren: Well, I found the perfect replacement for -- well, now you only have to find one.

Kyle: Makes my job a little easier.

Phyllis: And you got 30 minutes to do it.

Kyle: I'm on it. And, lauren, thank you for pitching in.

Lauren: Of course. Now, I showed my guy to wardrobe and hair and makeup, so you can go meet him in the studio.

Kyle: Can't wait to meet him.

Lauren: [ Sucks teeth ] You say that now.

Nick: Is katie keeping you busy?

Nikki: Oh, as always.

Nick: You know, if you ever need a breather...

Nikki: What, and not spend as much time with my granddaughter? Never.

Nick: Mom, I'm just offering.

Nikki: And I appreciate it.

Nick: Where is she? Playroom?

Nikki: Uh, more like your father's playroom.

Nick: What?

Nikki: Katie loves spending time up in your father's office "working." Victoria was the same way.

Nick: Well, let's hope all the pressure dad put on vick skips a generation.

Nikki: So, can I get you anything, darling?

Nick: No. I just wanted to come by and see how you're doing.

Nikki: Great. I-it's wonderful having katie here. She's a good distraction for your father and me. And it also helps out victoria, too, because hannah wasn't available today, so --

Nikki: Mom. Mom, mom, mom. You didn't answer my question. How are you?

Nikki: I can't stop thinking about it.

[ Sighs ] I mean, I-I try to focus on other things -- my charity work and katie -- but I can't stop worrying.

Nick: Well, mom, all this stress is not good for you.

Nikki: Every time I turn on my computer or -- or read a newspaper, there's a new article out a-about how many years your father is gonna spend in prison for J.T.'S murder.

Nick: Look, I know it's not easy, but you have to try to not let it get to you.

Nikki: [ Sighs ] It's not so easy. I mean, I see your father upstairs in his office, working like -- like nothing has changed. He's just determined to go on with his life. He refuses to say he's worried, but I know he is.

Nick: Dad's gonna be okay.

Nikki: And then I can't help but think about christine having the opportunity to get him in court and just hammer away at him until she can convict him for a crime that I committed. And I think to myself, how can I let that happen?

Nick: So what are you saying? Mom? Mom! No way.

Kyle: Here we go.

Phyllis: Well, that doesn't look like good news.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] The model I wanted is unavailable.

Lauren: Oh. So now what?

Kyle: No worries. [ Sighs ] I have a back-up plan.

Phyllis: Which is?

Kyle: Lauren says her model's kick-ass. We'll go solo with him.

Lauren: Oh, well, uh, you know, my model is wonderful, but he's inexperienced. And to put this all on his shoulders, I -- that is not fair.

Phyllis: All right. The design concept is for two guys, not one.

Lauren: Right.

Phyllis: We can't go with one, especially a novice.

Fen: All right, all right, all right. Let's do this.

Lauren: [ Chuckles ]

Kyle: Do what?

Lauren: Ahhh. Meet your new model.

Kyle: What?

Fen: Yeah. Uh, mom asked if I could do her a favor. I figured, you know, why not? It's a good way to promote my recording career.

Kyle: Are you serious?

Phyllis: I think what you meant to say was, "thank you for doing half my job, lauren."

Lauren: No thanks necessary. But you might want to focus on getting the other model.

Kyle: I've got one.

Phyllis: Who?

Kyle: Me.

[ Fen and lauren scoff ]

Fen: Wait, s-- [ Chuckles ] Seriously? Dude, you think you can, uh, compete with this?

Kyle: No contest.

Lauren: Phyllis?

Phyllis: I think it's a great idea. You killed it on live tv when you promoted birthday suit in your birthday suit.

Fen: No. "Got lucky" is what you mean. All right? Get ready to learn from someone who is used to being in the spotlight.

Kyle: I'll be schooling you on how to do this.

Lauren: Okay. Um... do you think this is gonna work?

Phyllis: Ay-yi-yi. We got two young men pumped with testosterone, determined to show who's the alpha. I think it's gonna be amazing.

Lauren: Great.

Nick: I know you mean well, but dad's got this. Trust me. He's not gonna walk into a situation where he doesn't already know the outcome. This is just another chess game for him.

Nikki: Even the best occasionally lose.

Nick: Mom, the goal here is to keep everyone out of prison.

Nikki: There's no guarantee of that.

Nick: Then we just need to trust michael and the legal system, because we know dad is innocent.

Nikki: Yeah, well, I'm not.

Nick: Mom, you killed J.T. In self-defense.

Nikki: That's even more of a reason to come forward.

Nick: No, mom. No. You cannot do that.

Nikki: Look, we could have michael come up with a case that I was trying to protect my daughter from an abuser.

Nick: Okay. What's gonna happen when christine starts questioning you, and wants to know why you didn't call the police that night for help? Or why you have been lying to the police for months about what happened?

Nikki: [ Sighs ] Oh, god.

Nick: Look, the best thing you can do is just be calm, all right? Stay cool. The evidence that rey and christine have is circumstantial. They don't have enough to get a conviction.

Nikki: Then why did they arrest your father?

Nick: Because they're just trying to build their case, and they need time, and they know they can't do it, so they're dragging their feet.

Nikki: He could be convicted, even on their flimsy evidence.

Nick: Okay. Well, if that happens, then we're gonna get an appeal. Dad is not going down for something he didn't do.

Nikki: I wouldn't be able to bear it if he went to prison, even for a short time. I wouldn'T.

Nick: You're getting too far ahead of yourself. There are two things we need to focus on right now. One is clearing dad, and the other is protecting you and the others.

Nikki: Well... I could protect him with one phone call.

Nick: I need you to promise me that you won'T.

[ Upbeat music playing ]

Phyllis: Looking good, guys. Keep it up. It's great.

Jennifer: Show me some skin, fellas. Let's see those abs.

Lauren: [ Chuckles ] Men will be boys.

Phyllis: That's totally perfect. They're young. It's completely hip and cool. It's good.

Kyle: Hey, don't hurt yourself.

Fen: Yeah, well, I'm not the one working overtime trying to impress my bosses.

Kyle: I do that every day.

Fen: [ Scoffs ] What, by bringing them coffees?

Kyle: With my drive and ambition. You wouldn't know anything about that. Too bad. Women love it.

Fen: Eh, no worries there. Apparently being a hot recording star is a real turn-on. Just ask summer.

Jennifer: Okay. I think we got it.

Kyle: [ Claps ] Thanks, jen.

Phyllis: [ Claps ]

Kyle: When do you think we can see the proofs?

Jennifer: First thing in the morning.

Phyllis: Hey, can I get a set at the office? That would be great.

Jennifer: You got it.

Phyllis: Awesome.

Lauren: Thank you.

Fen: So, um, how much does a gig like this pay?

Kyle: I thought you were doing this as a favor to your mom.

Phyllis: Uh, you're gonna make exactly what the models were gonna make.

Fen: [ Chuckles ] Sweet. I could use the extra money. My, uh -- my royalties haven't kicked in yet.

Lauren: Well, honey, once your face hits that billboard, oh, boy, is that gonna drive the downloads to your song.

Phyllis: We are gonna feed off of each other's success. It's a win-win for everybody.

Fen: Yeah, well, I'm, uh -- I'm totally winning, so...

Lauren: I told you you wouldn't regret helping me out. See?

Phyllis: I want to capitalize on this, though. I want to choose shots that feature fen.

Kyle: And let him be front and center?

Fen: Yeah, man. I mean, it's not like you have something to promote.

Kyle: Oh, I do. It's called a company. One that I work for, with an actual job title that carries a little more weight than your singing career.

Fen: [ Scoffs ]

Victoria: You were discussing me with phyllis. Great.

Billy: She reminded me that i need to remember everything you've been through with J.T., And almost losing both your parents, and your father being accused of murder.

Victoria: You know what? You and phyllis don't really need to worry about me, thanks.

Billy: Phyllis is always gonna think about herself, okay, but I-I do worry about you. And I know that you needed me to take a step back.

Victoria: Yes, one very big step.

Billy: I get that. And I know from the beginning you said that you want to take this slow. I c-- I can do that.

Victoria: Well, that would have worked before.

Billy: It can still work, victoria. Look [Sighs] Phyllis made me realize that I can -- I can do this two ways. I can think about myself, like I usually do, or I can put you first. And I know that you probably don't believe that I'm capable of doing that, but I want to try and earn your trust and your love, because I think that it's worth it. Come on, vick. Just -- we can -- we can do this.

Victoria: So, when did you think that bringing phyllis into this would be a great idea?

Billy: If it gets me what i want, then it's a good idea. And I want you. You just need to tell me what you want.

Victoria: I want to make the right decision about a man for once.

Nick: Look, mom, I know you want to help. And, trust me, I do, too. But going to the police is not the way to do it.

Nick: Why should your father pay for my crimes?

Nick: He shouldn'T. But neither should you, nor should anyone else who was involved. But if you come forward, you're all just gonna face charges.

Nikki: I'll tell rosales that I acted alone.

Nick: If you tell rey you were there defending victoria, then he's gonna know she was there, too. And nobody is going to believe that the two of you moved J.T.'S dead body.

Nikki: How would they prove otherwise?

Nick: They will just keep digging until they get all the answers. If that happens, people I care about, the people I love the most, are gonna be going to prison for killing that dirtbag J.T., And I'm not gonna let that happen.

Nikki: God, I hate this whole thing.

Nick: I know. Look, I just... I need you to trust me.

Nikki: I do.

Nick: Then promise me -- no going to the cops.

Nikki: All right. I promise.

Nick: Good. Now, you never answered my question. How are you? I can only imagine what the stress is doing to you.

Nikki: I'm not drinking, if that's what you're asking.

Nick: I know. I know. I'm just worried about your health. You seem tired to me.

Nikki: Well, uh, your father has been looking after me. He gave the cook special instructions for my diet, and he makes sure I get out and walk. He even hired a yoga instructor.

Nick: That's great. You got to stay strong.

Nikki: Yes. I-I -- I will. And you're right. I mean, we have come too far to give up now.

Nick: We're gonna get through this. It's gonna be okay.

Nikki: That's what your father always says.

Nick: Well, for once, we agree.

Katie: Uncle nick.

Nick: Hey! There's my favorite niece. What are you doing, and who is this?

Katie: Belle.

Nick: Belle. What have you guys been up to?

Katie: Playing hide-and-seek with my friend.

Nick: Your friend, huh? Cool. Give me five, belle. There we go. I'll let you get back to it. Um... you get some rest, okay?

Nikki: I will. Thanks so much for coming by.

Nick: We'll talk soon.

Nikki: All right.

[ Sighs ] Honey, why don't you play for a little while, and then after that we'll bundle you up and go for a walk?

[ Clears throat ] The chill of peppermint.

Kyle: Oh!

Summer: Oh, so-- hey.

Kyle: Gps busted? You are still working at newman, aren't you?

Summer: Oh, why? Does my being here bother you?

Kyle: Only if you're doing some corporate spying.

Summer: Well, you want to frisk me? Make sure I didn't steal anything?

Kyle: Fen's around here somewhere. Maybe he could do it for you.

Summer: Sure.

Kyle: You're not seriously into that guy?

Summer: Why? You're asking for a friend?

Kyle: Just wondering how the rest of your date went after we parted ways last night.

Summer: Hmm. Is there anything particular that you want to know?

Kyle: You know what? Forget it.

Summer: Uh, why? Afraid of what you might hear?

Kyle: What you do with fen is your business.

Summer: Wow. You know, it almost sounded like you meant that.

Kyle: I did.

Summer: All right, kyle. Come on. Get real. You have settled into a boring relationship with lola, and you're jealous because I am having fun living the single life, dating whoever I want.

Kyle: Yeah, you better tell fen that. He acts like the two of you are a couple.

Summer: Okay, well, he knows exactly what he's getting from me.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] The guy's using you.

Summer: And why do you care?

Kyle: I don't want to see you get hurt.

Summer: All right. Well, I'm a big girl, so I can handle myself.

Kyle: Yeah, that's what you said about billy.

Summer: Okay, well, billy was a mistake. And fen is... I don't know. We'll just have to see.

[ Elevator doors open ]

Phyllis: Oh, hey, honey.

Summer: Hey.

Phyllis: I thought you had a meeting with victoria at newman?

Summer: Uh, no, I do. You just left some papers that might be important, so I came and brought them to your desk.

Phyllis: You should have seen this guy earlier. He stepped in for one of the models that didn't show up.

Summer: Oh, wow. Bet it was hot.

Phyllis: Smoldering, actually.

Summer: No surprises there. Later.

Kyle: [ Snorts softly ]

Billy: Come on, victoria.

Victoria: You wanted five minutes. I gave it to you. I listened very carefully to everything that you had to say.

Billy: So that's it? You're just gonna show me the door?

Victoria: You know why.

Billy: This is not the right decision.

Victoria: You don't get to make my decisions for me. I do. And I want you to go.

Billy: Well, you're making a mistake.

Victoria: Then it's my mistake, and I'm gonna own it. I don't need pressure from you to do something that I don't want to do. You're right. It's been a very difficult time with everything. I just need time to deal with it.

Billy: Time to what? To make up another excuse why we can't be together? What, is it J.T.? Is it cane? Is it phyllis? You know those are just excuses to keep you from being happy.

Victoria: I don't need you to be happy.

Billy: You're not avoiding me, vick. You're avoiding the truth.

Victoria: We're done.

Billy: Vick...

[ Sighs ]

[ Table rattles ]

[ Teacup crashes ]

Nikki: [ Groans ] Katie? Katie! Where are you, honey? Katie?! Where are you, honey?
