Episode #11542 ~ Victoria opens up to Victor; Summer reconnects with Fen; Jack and Kerry come to a decision about their relationship.

Provided By Suzanne

Previously on "the young and the restless"...

Kerry: I've been giving myself hormone injections.

Jack: Why would you need hormone injections?

Kerry: I'm getting ready to freeze my eggs.

Jack: Maybe you're with the wrong guy.

Victor: I want you to give everyone the impression that our company is under top leadership.

Victoria: Katie, where are you?

Katie: Shh! I won't tell.

Summer: This is the new and improved summer newman, who respects the boundaries that you are setting. Uh, anyway, I hope I get to see you before I go back to dubai. So I'll just say goodbye now. Which, um -- are hugs on the appropriate list? 'Cause I don't want to cross any lines.

Kyle: Lola rosales in the flesh! Don't move. I want to grab a picture to prove you exist.

Lola: Hold on. I just need a sec.

Kyle: Considered as elusive as the loch ness monster or bigfoot, here's a rare glimpse of lola in her natural habitat, focused on her mission of bringing innovative food to the people of genoa city.

Lola: Flounder or salmon?

Kyle: Uh... flounder.

Lola: Okay. Manchego or swiss?

Kyle: Manchego. Always. Is your boyfriend the most handsome man on the planet or the universe? I'm going universe.

Lola: Universe. Naturally. I'm so sorry. I've been so crazy busy the last couple days. I didn't even make it to my brother's engagement party.

Kyle: We missed you. Especially me.

Lola: I know. All I've been doing is making decisions 24 hours a day. Should I put this napkin or use that napkin? Or should I fold it? Should I offer an aperitivo before dinner? I don't know. Oh, my god. I don't know. No. Yes, I do. A cuban manhattan.

Kyle: Uh, hey --

Lola: You know we're not even fully staffed yet?

Kyle: You're going to get everything done.

Lola: [ Exhales heavily ] I will eventually. But this restaurant is going to open in three weeks whether I'm ready or not, and I --

[ Sighs ]

Kyle: Do you have anybody you can delegate things to?

Lola: No way. What if they get it done incorrectly? Or not at all? [ Scoffs ]

Kyle: You have to be able to trust the people who work for you, or you'll burn out before it even opens.

Lola: Well, that's a foreign concept to me.

Kyle: But one you should embrace. For your own sanity. How 'bout this -- you do everything you absolutely have to do yourself today, delegate the rest, then let me take you out to dinner.

Lola: I don't know...

Kyle: Come on. You have to eat. It's a basic necessity.

Lola: But you know how important this is to me. And I can't blow this chance.

Kyle: I know. You're not gonna blow it.

Fen: "She puts up walls but still he tries"... okay. So we have to find something that rhymes with "tries." Um... cries. Dies. Fries.

Ana: Come on. Concentrate.

Fen: Sorry. I'm really hungry.

Ana: How about... "he could see the lies behind her eyes"?

Fen: [ Quietly ] Behind that's awesome.

[ Chuckles ] How do you -- how do you do that?

Ana: You just have to draw from your real life. Look inside yourself, figure out how you feel, then let it out.

Victoria: Have you found yourself an imaginary friend, too?

Victor: No. I'm playing with your mother.

Victoria: Really? Well, it looks like she's winning.

Victor: Well, at the moment she is, but just wait.

Katie: Can I play with my friend?

Victor: My sweetheart.

Victoria: Yeah, sure, sweetie.

Victor: Yes, you can.

Victoria: Go ahead.

Victor: Yes, you can. Yes, you can.

Victoria: Goodness. Her imagination has been running wild these days.

Victor: I just adore her. She's a ray of sunshine, you know?

Victoria: Yes. Well, I am glad that she was able to lighten your mood, because what I have to tell you is not gonna make you very happy.

Kerry: Thank you for seeing me.

Jack: Of course.

Kerry: I didn't get much sleep last night. Heh...

Jack: No, I didn't, either.

Kerry: Guess I'll just say what I came here to say.

Jack: Yeah, maybe that's for the best.

Kerry: I'm not completely ready to walk away from the idea of having children.

Jack: Kerry, I unders--

Kerry: But I don't want to walk away from you, either.

Victoria: After we talked yesterday, and you told me to take the initiative with the company, I left here, and I dove right in. I [Sighs] Worked on a pr offensive that would tell the rest of the world that newman enterprises is still standing strong.

Victor: Good. Sounds good so far.

Victoria: That's because i haven't gotten to the part where I completely messed everything up.

Victor: Oh, sweetheart, come on. You didn't completely mess things up. That's an exaggeration.

Victoria: Dad... oh, god. I was doing a phone interview with wall street financial...

Victor: Right. Okay.

Victoria: ...And all the reporter wanted to talk about was J.T. And the charges that you're facing. I should have anticipated it. I was completely caught off guard. I tried to hold it together, but the woman would not let it go, and so I -- I'm sorry, dad. I just completely and totally lost it, and I'm sorry.

Victor: You have nothing to be sorry about.

Victoria: Of course I do! I did the complete opposite of what I was setting out to do. I was -- I was showing the woman that newman is weak and incompetent and pathetic.

Victor: Sweetheart, will you stop it? I raised you to be a strong woman. You're a newman. You don't take that stuff from anyone. You look them in the eye, and you fight them right back. Enamel is the white, outer layer of your tooth surface.

heartburn and gas?

Summer: Hey, guys.

Lola: Hi.

Kyle: Hi.

Summer: Hey, stranger.

Fen: Hey. Wow. You're back.

Ana: Okay...

Fen: Dubai must really suit you, because you look amazing.

Summer: And you sound amazing. I heard your song! [ Giggles ]

Fen: Thank you.

Lola: Did you know that she was back?

Kyle: I found out yesterday.

Lola: And why didn't you tell me?

Kyle: 'Cause it doesn't matter. She's gonna flitter in and out of here, and be back to dubai before we know it. We can pretend she wasn't even here in the first place.

Summer: You know, you sound like a real singer.

Fen: Uh, I think that's a compliment.

Summer: And the song is so beautiful.

Fen: I know. Oh, um, yes. Uh, summer, this is ana.

Summer: Oh, hi. Hey, you're devon's sister, right?

Ana: I think we did a christmas pageant when we were kids once.

Summer: Oh, my gosh, yes. Yes. And wasn't -- wasn't I an angel?

Ana: That doesn't sound right.

Summer: Uh, anyway, what are you guys up to?

Fen: Uh, well, ana's working at devon's record label. Uh, she's actually the genius behind the song. She was the one who actually --

Ana: Who produced it. Yeah, we're actually working on the follow-up right now.

[ Tightly ] So we should probably get back to it.

Fen: Well, no, I think it's okay to take a break to talk to one of our fans. I mean, it's a, uh, important part of the business, right?

Summer: Okay. As exciting as it was to download your song, I have to say, I always thought that you were gonna be the lawyer who had to bail me out of something. But I guess I'll just have to settle for all-access passes to your concerts?

Fen: Yes, you are first on the list. Yeah, I couldn't imagine this happening six months ago. It's, uh -- I'm -- I'm just excited to see what's next.

Summer: Okay, well, this officially calls for something stronger than coffee. So we are going out tonight to celebrate.

Kyle: So. How 'bout that dinner date?

Victoria: I really appreciate your support, dad. But I blew it.

Victor: [ Sighs ] Why do you say that? I mean, you knew that the press was gonna focus in on that J.T. Story. It's too juicy of a story for them. Having said that, I don't want you ever to say one positive word about that monster J.T. Is that clear? Why didn't you come to me when this whole thing with J.T. Happened? I'm your dad.

Jack: Look, I'm thrilled that you see us the same way I do. I don't want to end this, either.

Kerry: Then don'T. Don'T.

Jack: It's a little more complicated than that.

Kerry: No. I'm freezing my eggs to give myself one option, jack. One option among many.

Jack: It's a giant, life-changing option. The decision to have a child is a monumental decision. I'm not sure I'm in a place to do that again.

Kerry: Yes, I know. And I appreciate that, jack. I really do. But... and please don't take this the wrong way, but I never said anything about you and I having a child together. This -- this is about my future. Not yours.

Summer: You know what? You and I are gonna party like rock stars tonight.

Fen: Yeah. I'll, uh -- I'll get us a dinner rez, and then, un, bottle service at the velvet room for later?

Summer: Ooh! Great. You know, a little bubbly makes me want to dance. I hope you can handle it.

Ana: Sorry to break up the party, kids, but he's got all he can handle right now with this song. We have to finish writing it today.

Fen: Well, actually, I think a night off might kind of help. You know, my ideas today so far haven't been exactly inspired.

Ana: That's true.

Fen: You know, I think you were right when you said I need to find my authentic voice. You know, I-I need to live my life, experience things so that I have material to draw on.

Summer: Yes, and I promise to make the night memorable enough for, like... what? Three albums.

Ana: I'm sure.

Summer: So, uh, I'll see you tonight?

Fen: I'll, uh, have a car pick you up at 7:00.

Summer: Great. Oh, and, um, I'm staying at my dad's, so I will text you the address.

Ana: You're still working as a waiter.

Fen: That's what credit cards are for.

Summer: Hey, um, you know, I didn't want to be rude without saying goodbye. So I just didn't know if that was within the rules.

Lola: What rules?

Summer: Oh, kyle and I had a conversation yesterday about respecting boundaries and not crossing any lines, and so far, so good. Look at me. I'm adulting. Anyway, good to see you guys.

Lola: So, what lines are not being crossed?

Kyle: She asked me out to dinner. I said no out of respect for you.

Lola: Really?

Kyle: That's all it was.

Lola: Okay, well, thank you. I appreciate that.

Kyle: Summer is my ex for a reason. Many reasons, one being her penchant for stirring up trouble. And that's what she's gonna try to do with us. So we can't take the bait. We have to stay above it.

Lola: Agreed. And since you didn't take up her offer on dinner, the least I could do is take you up on yours.

Kyle: Yeah? Excellent.

Lola: But I can only be out for, like, an hour.

[ Sighs ] Okay. An hour and a half, tops.

Kyle: Seriously?

Lola: Do you realize how much work I have to get done tomorrow morning before the pop-up shop opens?

Kyle: Fair enough. 90 minutes. I'll make it work.

Lola: [ Sighs ]

Victor: The idea of this man hurting you infuriates me.

Victoria: Dad, you raised me to be strong. Not to be anybody's victim. I was just really ashamed to admit to you that I'd gotten into another failed relationship.

Victor: My sweetheart, he was the failure, not you.

Victoria: And then, when things got progressively worse, I talked myself into believing that staying with him was the best thing for the family.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Victoria: Until things got so bad that I just -- I left him for good. That -- that night when he broke into the house and I found him in the bedroom... and I felt his hands on me... I just remember thinking that... "this is it. This is the end." And I remember wondering what johnny and katie and reed would do without a mother. And then mom came through the door, and she saved me.

Victor: Horrendous. Why did you and your mother not come to me?

Victoria: Dad, I don't know.

[ Sighs ] We were just overwhelmed, and you were in the hospital recovering from what he had done to you.

Victor: But even in my diminished state, I could have done something.

Victoria: Look, we did the best we could at the time.

Victor: [ Sighs ]

Victoria: I'm sorry. It's really taken its toll.

Victor: I'm here for you now. Okay? Whoever comes at you will have to deal with me. And I want you to come to me and talk to me when something is troubling you. Okay? Come here.

Katie: ...4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Ready or not, here I come! Little dakota's nose was quivering in fear.

[ Door slams ]

Devon: Hey.

Ana: [ Slams bag ]

Devon: You have a rough day at the office?

Ana: No. Sorry. Everything's fine.

Devon: Okay.

Ana: [ Slams notebook ]

Devon: You know, my table didn't do anything to you. Why don't you tell me who did before you start beating up the rest of my furniture?

Ana: He's just so distracted. And it's not just that he's disrespecting me. He's disrespecting himself. And the work, and -- and you. He got a little taste of success and thinks he's done. He never has to work again. He thinks his job now is going to the club and popping bottles with troublemaker barbie.

Devon: Are we talking about drake?

Ana: He thinks he's drake. Minus the five platinum albums.

Devon: And the dance moves?

Ana: I shouldn't vent to you.

Devon: No, of course you should. I'm your brother.

Ana: You're also my boss. It's not professional. Can we forget I said all this?

Devon: No. No, we can't forget it, because I've learned to trust your instincts. And you and I both know that the music industry is all about hard work. So if you don't think that fen is 100% committed, then I don't want someone like that on the label. If you give me the word, I'll let him go.

Jack: You don't see a future for us? Is that...?

Kerry: What? No! That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm trying to stop you getting ahead of yourself. Jack, if and/or when I choose to have a child will be up to me. That is why I'm doing all of this. But for right now, for you and me, it's a total non-issue. We have such a good thing going here, jack. Please, please don't overcomplicate this with things that may never happen. Or if they do, would happen far in the future.

Jack: I'm glad that's the way you see us now. That's the way I see us, too. It's why I wanted to have this conversation. So there are no false assumptions.

Kerry: Yes. Exactly. No one knows what life is gonna throw at us between now and when I might have to make this decision. I-I could see our lives going in a lot of different directions. Heading up international divisions of jabot. Hmm? Owning a b&b in tuscany.

Jack: Oh, you're much too type "a" for the tuscan countryside.

Kerry: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, you're probably right. But... I could see a future where we jet-set around the world, just you and me.

Jack: Or with a little one in tow.

Kerry: Who knows? But would that really be the worst thing in the world?

Jack: No, it's a wonderful thing. Look, I have had a big, full life. Being a parent is the best thing I ever did. It fills you with unconditional love. It -- it -- it challenges you. It teaches you. It makes you a better person. That's why I don't want to be the one to rob you of this. If you want to have a child, I don't want to be the one that stops you. I want to help you.

Kerry: I don't know if it's something I want, jack, it's just something I want to have the option of. But... what I do know is that life is unpredictable and confusing and fragile and complicated, and there are no guarantees. And that I am so happy with you. And I don't want to give up this happiness that's right in front of me for -- for some unknowable future. And who knows? Maybe, in a year or two from now, you would change your mind.

Jack: No. No, I'm sorry, but I -- I can't promise you that.

Kerry: Okay. I see.

Victor: So, from now on, you promise me -- something that's on your mind that bothers you, you come and talk to me, all right?

Victoria: I will. I promise.

Victor: Will you do that?

Victoria: Yes.

Victor: [ Inhales deeply ] You know, I've got to admit to you that I have not always been the most approachable and most supportive.

Victoria: No. That's not true.

Victor: Oh, yeah. I've been hard on you. You know why? You're my firstborn. You're my namesake. I wanted to make you tough. Independent. Strong. And you have become that woman. I'm proud of you.

Victoria: You know, dad, you may not have physically been by my side through those difficult times, but I did draw from the strength that you instilled in me. And the qualities that you nurtured in me, and the lessons that you taught me. They got me through the situations that I was in.

Victor: [ Sighs ]

Victoria: I want you to know something.

Victor: What?

Victoria: I am the person that I am right now because of you. You'll never know how much you've done for me. Every day, people are fighting type 2 diabetes with food,

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

Kyle: Right this way, madam. I called ahead to reserve us a special table.

Lola: You did this, too?

Kyle: [ Chuckles ] Well, we've got a table and wine in under a minute. 89 to go.

Lola: I wonder if we could increase customer turnover if we --

Kyle: Usually when two people in love go on a dinner date, they want to enjoy each other over a long, leisurely meal. Not beat the clock.

Lola: You're right. And this was incredibly thoughtful and romantic.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] How is it?

Lola: Buttery, with a hint of oak.

Kyle: Not the wine. The glass.

Lola: [ Sighs ] The heft is nice, but the stem is not right.

Kyle: And the napkin?

Lola: Beautiful silk blend, but stains easily.

[ Sighs ] I'm so sorry. It's just my mind is constantly racing, and you have been so thoughtful and understanding and patient... and any guy would have left me by now.

Kyle: I'm not most guys.

Lola: No, you're not.

Kyle: [ Exhales softly ] You're not most girls.

[ Fen and summer laughing ]

Fen: After you.

Summer: Thank you.

Fen: So, what are we feeling tonight?

Summer: I need something to drink.

Fen: Something to drink.

Summer: Yes.

Fen: All right. Uh... well, I'm sure...

Kyle: We can go somewhere else.

Lola: No way. That would be a waste of time. And besides, we only have 86 minutes left. If she doesn't bother you, why should she bother me?

Ana: Fen has a great voice. And a real presence. There's something about him that makes you want to listen when he sings. But I just don't think he has a lot to say. At least not right now.

Devon: Right. Well, are you willing to dig in and help him find out if he has anything underneath that cocky attitude of his?

Ana: Yeah. I think I can get him past the distractions. He deserves a little more time and effort.

Devon: Do you want me to talk to him? 'Cause you've already hung your neck out for him a few times. I think that he should appreciate you a little more, don't you?

Ana: I'll handle this by myself.

Devon: Okay.

Ana: Tattling to my big brother doesn't exactly help the label-artist relationship.

Devon: No. Okay. Well, you're just doing your job, and I appreciate it. But I will say this -- between the two of you, I think that you're the one with the real talent. And you should value your songwriting just as much as your producing.

Ana: Thank you.

Devon: Mm-hmm.

Ana: I love writing songs. I'm definitely gonna keep doing it.

Devon: I'm glad to hear that, 'cause you're too good not to. And I actually have a thought of how we can get fen to wake up and realize they're not just handing out record deals at every corner.

Ana: What's that?

Devon: You could start singing and recording your own music.

Summer: What? What? Do I have something on my face?

Fen: No. No. I just, um... I never thought this day would come.

Summer: What day?

Fen: You and me on an actual real date. You know, my life has changed so much these last few years.

Summer: Yeah. I mean, you went from morose loner to hot pop star.

Fen: Um... thank you?

Summer: [ Laughing ] You know what I mean.

Fen: No, I do. I do. And, you know, what's -- what's happening to this singing thing is -- I mean, it'S... it's mind-blowing. But... you know, it can't top this.

Summer: Yeah, well, I mean, I didn't imagine this until right now, actually. No offense.

Fen: No. No, none taken. You know, it just means that our first kiss in high school didn't have the same effect on you that it did on me.

Summer: No! It -- it was...nice.

Fen: Just nice?

Summer: [ Chuckles ]

Fen: Look, um... I wanted nothing more back then than to have a-a real shot with you. And I know things went downhill between us, but I never meant to --

Summer: I don't -- I don't want to talk about any of that okay? Do you want a second chance at that first kiss?

Fen: [ Gasps ]

Lola: Looks like summer and fen are skipping dinner and having each other for dessert.

Kerry: [ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

[ Elevator bell dings ]

Victoria: I'll do three marquee interviews -- one digital, one television, and one print, and we'll send our surrogates out to do the rest.

Victor: But we will limit the interviews to 20 minutes. I'll give you very specific talking points, and you stick to them, no matter what, okay?

Victoria: All right. I can be stubborn. It's another trait that I got from you.

Victor: Really?

Victoria: Mm-hmm.

Victor: Oh.

Victoria: And if I don't like the question, I'll just pivot back the company and its resurgence in the marketplace.

[ Chuckles ]

Victor: You'll do great. I'm so proud of you.

Victoria: Thank you for always being my rock. Now I got to go find katie. She's not gonna want to leave grandpa's house.

Victor: Yes.

Victoria: She's having so much fun playing with her new special friend.

Lola: It's like two tongues in a train wreck.

Kyle: Drunk octopuses wrestling.

Summer: Oh!

Lola: Wine and a conversation with you is much more my speed.

Kyle: Same.

Lola: Thank you for this.

Kyle: My motives were selfish. I wanted to spend time with you. But I thought you could use a break from work.

Lola: Yeah. Story of my life. I'm not great at pacing myself because I'm always on a constant struggle between pursuing my dream and everything else. Kicking back and relaxing is not exactly my forte. Not that I don't envision it one day in the future when I have opened up my three restaurants and they are up and running smoothly. You know, I can see myself on the balcony of my first place, the original and my favorite, holding a pomegranate mojito.

Kyle: Mm.

Lola: I have finished greeting my regulars. I have talked the first-timers through the entire menu, and I have tasted every single dish that has gone out. Dinner service is almost done, and I am looking down at the balcony, and it's a packed dining room. There are families and couples drinking and eating, and it's a room filled with laughter and love. An oasis away from the world created by me.

Kyle: Sounds like heaven. I hope you see me by your side.

Lola: I do.

Kyle: Do you ever see yourself in that dining room? Like one of your customers, just eating and laughing and living life?

Lola: What do you mean?

Kyle: I mean can you imagine yourself being able to take some time to enjoy the journey on the way to your dream?

Lola: Uh... I don't know. I don't think about that.

Kyle: Because if you do nothing but work yourself to the bone, there may be a lot of great moments you're missing out on.

Lola: Great moments. Like this one? Sir? Can I have a pomegranate mojito, please?

Summer: You know, maybe we should just call it a night.

Fen: What? Why? The night's just getting started. Let's just go somewhere else.

Summer: Uh... someplace else? Maybe. What'd you have in mind?

Fen: Well, you said that I couldn't handle your dance moves. I think I need some proof. So, um... why don't we go to a club? Or if you want to stay here, I could just get us a room upstairs.

Summer: Fen! You are naughty. What kind of girl do you think I am? Okay, don't answer that. Let's go have some fun.

Fen: Let's do it.

Summer: Uh, but first... should we say goodbye to that sad old couple over there?

Fen: [ Exhales loudly ] It'd be the polite thing to do.

Summer: Well, you're mr. Manners now. Uh, hey, guys. Small world.

Lola: Getting smaller by the minute.

Summer: So, did you enjoy your early-bird special?

Kyle: Dinner was delicious, thank you. I see yours was, uh, liquid.

Summer: Oh, yeah, it's this thing that young people do. You know, going out, having fun.

Kyle: Your last hurrah before returning to dubai? Hate to see you go.

Summer: Oh, you haven't heard? Change of plans. I'm staying in gc for good.

Devon: You really do need to start singing again, ana. 'Cause you were incredible when you were a kid, and you've only gotten better. And I think you have the whole package. You have the voice. You have the drive. That's everything you need.

Ana: I appreciate that, but I think you're biased.

Devon: No, that's not it at all. I know that you're my sister, but that has nothing to do with it. I overheard you working on a song at the piano the other day.

Ana: You weren't supposed to hear that.

Devon: I apologize for eavesdropping, but I-I... I had to. It literally stopped me in my tracks. And the lyrics that you had, they made me feel things that I didn't even know I had in me anymore. 'Cause you just -- you sing with so much soul and so much feeling. It's incredible.

Deon: It's true.

Ana: I don't know.

Devon: I do know. And I would love if you would let me record you. 'Cause I think you owe it to yourself and to me and the world for people to hear that song.

Ana: Your confidence in me, it means so much. But I haven't changed my mind about this. I don't want to be back in the spotlight.

Devon: Yeah, but that's where you belong, though.

Ana: I'm sorry. The song is mine, and no one can ever hear it.

Fen: So, this was fun. But we've got to go. Our night's just getting started.

Kyle: You came over here.

Summer: Well, good night, you two.

Fen: Yeah. Night. Come on. So, uh, you know, where to? Uh, dancing? You want to go upstairs?

Summer: Um... you know, actually, I think that those drinks are kind of giving me a headache, so I think I need to go home. Could we rain check?

Fen: Wh-- uh... what are you talking about?

Summer: Oh, I mean, we just didn't eat, and my stomach's kind of --

Fen: We can go eat.

Summer: [ Laughs ]

Fen: What's funny about that?

Summer: Oh, my -- nothing.

Fen: Oh. Right. Some things never change.

Summer: What?

Fen: You know, you're not exactly the queen of subtlety.

Summer: What, kyle? Ky-- no! That's -- it's not what you're thinking. Okay, I had a really good time with you tonight.

Fen: I know. You did. Despite yourself. You know, you're still... the exact girl I wanted so badly in high school. I mean, you are -- you are exciting. You're hell on wheels. But, you know, I'm not the same guy. And I'm gonna prove that to you.

Summer: Okay. What is that supposed to mean? Wait, no. Fen -- fen. Where are you going?

Fen: Home. You can get back to me when you're done playing games.

Lola: There is one perk I am really looking forward to as the head chef of a new restaurant.

Kyle: Hmm?

Lola: You know, if summer pops up to cause trouble, I can just have her thrown out.

Kyle: [ Chuckles ] That makes all the hard work you've been putting in totally worth it.

Lola: It kind of does, doesn't it?

Kyle: Mm. I had a great time tonight. Despite the one minor inconvenience.

Lola: Same here. Thank you for listening to me ramble on about --

Kyle: Your hopes and dreams? Are you kidding?

Lola: [ Sighs ]

Kyle: I find it inspiring. What?

Lola: I don't know what I did to deserve you.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Oh, no. We blew past our deadline. We're at 115 minutes.

Lola: [ Chuckles ] Well, I am off the clock tonight.

Kyle: Oh. Uh-huh.

Jack: I didn't like the way we left things.

Kerry: [ Sighs ] Me either.

Jack: I just don't know where we go from here.

Kerry: Well, I usually use logic to solve problems, but i have a feeling that's not gonna work here.

Jack: Yeah, my brain keeps telling me the only sensible thing to do is walk away.

Kerry: Yeah, it makes perfect sense.

Jack: I just can't do that. Look, I've been thinking a lot about what you said, that the only life that we're guaranteed is the one we're living right now. God knows, I've had enough loss to know that is true. So [Sighs] Here's what I'm thinking -- maybe you're right. Maybe what we have to do is live in the now and see where this relationship takes us.
