Episode #11540 ~ Victor gives Arturo an ultimatum; Jack uncovers Kerry's secret; Nick demands the truth.

Jack: What, expecting the courtesy of an honest explanation?

Our hearts are filled with happiness as rey and mia rosales have come together today to renew their sacred vows.

Arturo: Will you change my life even more by marrying me?

Abby: Yes! [ Laughs ] Yes, yes, yes!

Mia: She's not the one you love. It's not the way I know you can love.

Phyllis: Isn't it funny that you haven't once asked what sharon was doing when you knew she was there that night. She was there when J.T. Died. She was there when we dug the grave. And she's been lying as much as the rest of us.

Phyllis: Morning.

Nick: Morning. [ Sighs ] How'd you sleep?

Phyllis: Guest room's very comfortable.

Nick: Good.

Phyllis: Did you think about what I told you last night?

Nick: Couldn't think about anything else.

Phyllis: Do you believe me?

Nick: I don't know what to believe.

Phyllis: I'm telling you the truth, nick. Sharon is just as much involved in J.T.'S death as nikki, victoria, and me.

Nick: So I'm just supposed to take your word for it?

Phyllis: Fine. My word's not good enough? Let's settle this once and for all.

Abby: Mm! It is so good to see you home.

Victor: When you said you were coming over, I thought you were coming alone.

Arturo: Dad.

Arturo: Hi, uh, mr. Newman. How are you?

Victor: Other than being accused of murder, I'm all right.

Abby: And arturo and I are both very upset about that.

Arturo: Yeah. Those charges against you are totally bogus.

Abby: An ankle monitor? Really?

Victor: It's a minor inconvenience, you know. The fact that I can't leave the ranch gives me more time with my family, so it's not all bad.

Abby: Heh... speaking of family, uh, we have some exciting news.

Victor: Really?

Abby: You're about to get a new member!

[ Chuckles nervously ] Arturo and I are engaged.

Rey: Thinking about last night?

Mia: Mmm. It felt like our honeymoon all over again. Everything about yesterday was amazing. You know, the ceremony, the --

[ Sighs ] This. All of it. It was perfect.

[ Sighs ]

Rey: Then what's bothering you?

Victor: I'm sure it's not the response that you were hoping to hear. But I will not stand by and watch you get hurt. You hardly know this gentleman.

Abby: Dad, we've been together for almost a year.

Victor: A year during which arturo got close to your brother nick and got a job from him, right? And you used my wife's charity work to get close to her. I'm not gonna watch you get hurt.

Arturo: See, you don't have to worry about that...

Victor: Really? Ah.

Arturo: ...Mr. Newman. I love abby. I do.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Arturo: And I want to make her as happy as she makes me. So I hope you give me the chance to prove that.

Victor: Mm. All right. Sign this.

Abby: A prenup?

Victor: Uh-huh.

Kyle: Mrs. Martinez really outdid herself. The table, the flowers. The smells coming from that kitchen.

Jack: Yeah, well, you got to up your game when one of your guests is the hottest new chef in town.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Unfortunately, I don't think she's gonna make it tonight.

Jack: What do you mean? Why not?

Kyle: She's meeting with a potential food supplier for the new restaurant.

Jack: She can't put that off for another night?

Kyle: Once lola gets something in her mind, it's impossible to get her to change it.

Billy: We've known a few women like that, huh, jack?

Jack: I'm not afraid of strong women.

Billy: That's why you're with kerry. By the way, is she coming tonight?

Jack: [ Huffs ] Talk about a busy schedule.

Kyle: She's got to have dinner.

Jack: Yeah, I'm sure she'll figure that out for herself.

Kyle: So you didn't even invite her to come tonight?

Jack: I didn't want to pressure her.

Billy: All right, big brother. Spill it.

Jack: What?

Billy: Well, you're hiding something. So what's going on?

Jack: Kerry lied to me. She told me she was at the lab. She wasn't at the lab. The lab was closed. When I tried to get an explanation out of her, she gave me this flimsy excuse, and I didn't buy it.

Billy: Well, maybe she has a good reason for not telling you the truth.

Jack: Like phyllis had good reason for lying to me about sleeping with you?

Kyle: [ Snorts ]

Billy: Okay. Uh, well... phyllis isn't kerry, so...

Kyle: Hate to say it, but billy's right. You can't judge kerry based on your past experiences.

Billy: And take it from me, if you think it's worth it, give it another chance.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Kerry: Jack.

Jack: Hey. I don't know if you have any plans tonight. I'm having a little engagement party for my niece and her fiancé, and I know this is short notice.

Kerry: I would love to come.

Jack: You would? I-I mean, that's -- that's great. Um... uh, my house, 7:00?

Billy: Told ya. Making a big deal out of nothing.

Mia: [ Exhales softly ] You really are the best husband.

Mia: [ Murmurs ]

Rey: Again. Mm...

Mia: I-I'm sorry. Um... you're giving me, um, all this attention, which you know I love. But, um, baby, I just wish i wasn't feeling this way.

Rey: Okay. Anything I can do to make you feel better?

Mia: I wish there was.

[ Sighs ] But it -- I just -- I need to get over this hangover, that -- that's all.

Rey: Come over here. Sit down. I am going to take care of you whether you want me to or not.

Mia: I do.

Rey: Good.

Abby: What, you just have a briefcase full of these in case one of your daughters or granddaughters dares to choose her own husband?

Victor: Mm-hmm. I could see where you and arturo were headed, so I took the liberty of being prepared.

Abby: Wow, you -- you are incredible.

Victor: All you have to do is sign it.

Abby: No. No, he is not gonna sign it.

Arturo: Yes, I am.

Abby: What?

Arturo: Yeah.

Abby: [ Sighs ]

Arturo: The only reason that I am marrying abby is because I love her.

Victor: [ Chuckles ] I wish you the best of luck. And a long engagement.

Abby: Okay, arturo. Let's go. We have a wedding to plan.

Sharon: Why are we all here?

Phyllis: You want to tell them, or should I?

Nick: I'm getting so many different stories from everyone. I want the truth, and I want it all.

Sharon: About what?

Nick: The night J.T. Died.

Sharon: Why are you asking me and phyllis?

Nick: Mom and victoria admit that they were responsible for J.T.'S death. Then mom said that phyllis was also there.

Phyllis: After swearing she wouldn'T.

Nick: Then phyllis said that you were also involved, sharon.

Sharon: What?!

Phyllis: I told you. It's every woman for herself.

Sharon: Well, thanks, both of you.

Nick: Then it's true. You were there that night, and you helped cover it up.

Sharon: There's no point in denying it now.

Nick: You mean the way you have been for months? The way all four of you have been? You all killed J.T., And then you buried his body, and then you pretended like you didn't know anything about his disappearance. Vick, you ripped me apart when I was pretending to be J.T. Said what I did was unforgivable. Sharon, you almost left me over it, and you were hiding this?

Sharon: I wanted to tell you.

Phyllis: We all did.

Victoria: We were just so scared.

Nikki: You have no idea what we've been through.

Nick: I want the truth. Every single thing that happened that night.

Sharon: What are you gonna do with it?

Nick: I want to hear what you have to say first, and then we will decide what we're gonna do next.

Arturo: Don't let him get to you. He's just being a dad.

Abby: But why does he always have to ruin my happiness?

Jack: Oh, let me guess. We're talking about victor.

Abby: Oh, you're not gonna believe what he did this time.

Jack: Nothing the mustache does would surprise me.

Abby: He asked arturo to sign a prenup.

Jack: I hope you told him where to stick it.

Arturo: Uh...

Abb: Yeah, I did. But arturo signed it, anyway.

Arturo: I just don't want there to be any confusion about why I'm marrying abby.

Jack: Okay, there is no confusion on this side of things. You are welcomed with open arms here. As a matter of fact, it's gonna be official.

Abby: Is something special happening?

Jack: Yes. We're having a little party tonight in your honor.

Abby: Uncle jack! Ohh!

Jack: You know, this is something your mother would have done, and with her not here, I'm happy to step up.

Kyle: So are we. Congratulations, cuz.

Abby: Thank you!

Kyle: Hey, you too, man.

Arturo: Thanks, man.

Billy: You're gonna make a beautiful bride.

Abby: Thank you.

Billy: And you -- you're just lucky.

Arturo: Yep. I know that.

Abby: [ Laughs ]

Kyle: Let us show you the dining room. It's all set up.

Abby: Yes, yes, yes.

Jack: Check it out.

Arturo: Oh, man. She needed this. Especially after the way victor reacted.

Jack: This party is for both of you.

Arturo: I appreciate that.

Jack: I meant what I said earlier -- we welcome you with open arms. And to that end, maybe you could invite your brother and his wife, as well.

Arturo: Uh, I'll see if they're free.

Jack: Yeah, I want anyone who knows and loves you and abby to be here to celebrate.

Mia: [ Sighs ]

Rey: You know, I really wish you'd let me fix you something to eat. I could serve it to you in bed.

Mia: [ Scoffs ] You sure it's okay for you to take the day off? I know how important your job is to you.

Rey: Oh, you are more important to me.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

[ Sighs ] It's arturo.

[ Snorts softly ] He wants to know if we can make it to an engagement party for him and abby.

Mia: Do we have to go?

Rey: They came to our vow renewal.

Mia: Where arturo made it all about him and abby. Everyone's eyes were on them.

Rey: Not mine. They were all on you. How beautiful you are. How much I love you.

Mia: It was selfish of arturo to try to spoil our special day.

Rey: [ Sighs ] He got caught in the moment, mia.

Mia: I don't know.

Rey: Mia, trust me. We were the last thing on arturo's mind when he asked abby to marry him.

Victoria: I left J.T. In hawaii, and I came back with the kids.

Sharon: Reed told me that victoria and J.T. Had split up, so I organized a girls' night to help victoria deal with everything she was going through.

Phyllis: And it was weird. It was awkward. But then we started opening up about our personal lives.

Victoria: That's when I told everyone that J.T. Had abused me. It was -- [ Sighs ]

Nikki: It was difficult. As you can imagine.

Victoria: I just felt really embarrassed that I let him control me the way. But everybody was very supportive and understanding. That would have been the end of it. But...

Nick: J.T. Showed up.

Victoria: Nobody else knew he was there. I spoke with him outside.

Victoria: There's nothing else you can say. I don't want to hear any more of your promises or you apologies. I'm done with you. There's no room for your lies, J.T. Accept that. And get the hell off of my property.

Nick: But he didn'T.

Victoria: I had gone upstairs to our bedroom to pull myself together.

Victoria: [ Sniffles ]

[ Brush clatters ]

Victoria: Ugh...

Victoria: But he had snuck through the bathroom window. And when I saw him in the mirror, I was terrified.

Victoria: [ Gasps ]

Victoria: I told him to get out. But he was begging with me and pleading with me to take him back. I said no. But then he got irate, and he started accusing me of all sorts of things. And that's when the truth came out.

Victoria: You weren't home the night that my father was injured. Were you at the ranch?

J.T.: [ Sighs ] He was spying on us. I went to talk to him, and he went crazy. It was an accident. I swear to god.

Victoria: An accident?! You left my father on the ground to die!

Victoria: It all started to fall into place.

Victoria: It was you, wasn't it? You're the one who turned off his ventilator. You tried to murder my father?

J.T.: And what about him? What about what he did to colleen? She was young, and she was perfect, and she had her whole life ahead of her. Colleen's dead, and that bastard is still here? You tell me why victor deserves to live another minute.

Victoria: You could murder a man?

J.T.: Well, you love me. What does that say about you? Get out of my way.

Victoria: No. [ Grunts ]

J.T.: Move!

Victoria: I'm calling the police.

J.T.: No, you're not.

Victoria: Yes, I am.

[ Exclaims ]

[ Door slams ]

Nikki: We could hear the commotion from downstairs.

J.T.: Stop it! [ Yells ]

Victoria: [ Grunts ]

Sharon: We knew it had to be J.T.

Victoria: Get away from me! Stay away!

Nikki: What?

Victoria: Get out!

Nikki: Oh, my god!

Nikki: [ Exhales softly ] I raced up those stairs so fast.

Phyllis: Sharon and I were right behind her.

Nikki: And then when I flung the door open, J.T. Was trying to hurt her, and -- like I said, I-i didn't even think. I just acted.

J.T.: Victoria, why?!

Victoria: Stop! Get off of me!

[ Yells ]

[ J.T. Grunts ]

Victoria: Now look!

Nikki: I did kill J.T. I didn't mean to, but I -- I didn't have a choice. He was hurting your sister.

Nick: I still don't understand why you didn't call the police, the paramedics, something.

Sharon: I wanted to.

Phyllis: We couldn't go to the cops. Your mother had just killed the man who tried to murder her husband.

Nick: [ Sighs ] In self-defense.

Phyllis: Christine was trying to pin something on the newmans for months. We would have been handing it to her on a silver platter.

Victoria: She would have just seen it as a case of vigilantism.

Phyllis: No matter how we feel about each other, we weren't gonna let your mother go to prison for that.

Sharon: I thought it was a mistake.

Phyllis: In the end, we promised each other that we were in this together.

Nick: So you were in this with them, all of it?

Sharon: After committing to keeping J.T.'S death a secret, there was no going back.

Phyllis: Then we had to get rid of the body.

Victoria: So we rolled J.T. Up in an old rug, and we carried him to my car.

Nikki: And drove to chancellor park.

Nick: Where you buried him.

Victoria: That was the hardest part.

[ Shovel thuds ] I'll never forget throwing that first shovelful of dirt on J.T.

Nick: [ Sighs ]

Sharon: After that, nikki burned the rug, and phyllis got rid of J.T.'S phone and the fireplace poker.

Victoria: You can see that keeping this secret has taken a toll on all of us.

Sharon: Every day, we were terrified that someone would learn the truth.

Nikki: Hiding this, especially from those that we love, is killing us.

Phyllis: We hated lying to you. But we didn't have a choice.

Nick: Who else knows about this?

Sharon: Um... mariah. And tessa.

Nick: I thought you said mariah was passed out that night.

Sharon: She was.

Nick: So, what, you just told her?

Victoria: No. We haven't told anyone.

Sharon: Remember when you hired tessa to work at dark horse?

Nick: Yes. She was deleting files from the hard drives.

Sharon: One of those files belonged to J.T. He installed hidden cameras at victoria's house. There was video footage of us moving the body.

Phyllis: I guess we should be grateful that tessa was not a law-abiding citizen.

Nick: So she's blackmailing you?

Phyllis: [ Sighs ] We got most of our money back, and convinced her to keep quiet.

Nick: So now she's framing dad to, like, get money out of him?

Victoria: We thought that at first, too, but then we found out that it wasn't her.

Nick: How can you be sure?

Sharon: Trust us. Um... she's not the one who's framing victor or tormenting nikki.

Nikki: But I do think it's someone close to us. Someone who had access to all of the evidence.

Sharon: Am i missing something?

Phyllis: I got rid of J.T.'S phone [Sighs] But I held on to the fireplace poker.

Sharon: What?!

Phyllis: Oh, stop. Acting all shocked. I mean, like you've never lied about anything. Dna tests come to mind.

Sharon: You planted that poker at the newman ranch. You're the one who's trying to set up victor!

Nick: No, she isn'T.

Nikki: Nicholas --

Nick: Mom, no. It's not her. I believe her.

Phyllis: Thank you.

Nick: You hate dad. But I know you would never do this to me.

Phyllis: No, I wouldn'T.

[ Cellphones chime ]

Nikki: What is it?

Nick: Oh, it's just jack reminding us about abby's engagement party.

Nikki: I didn't know abby got engaged.

Victoria: Arturo popped the question yesterday.

Nick: [ Sighs ] I'm just gonna tell jack that we can't make it.

Victoria: No, nick, you have to go. It's what we've all been doing for months -- acting like everything is normal. If you don't, then people will start to suspect something.

Nick: So this is what you have been dealing with since spring?

Phyllis: Waking up every morning thinking this might be our last day of freedom.

Nick: I do not want dad to know that sharon and phyllis are involved in this.

Nikki: Son, you're wrong if you think he would blame J.T.'S death on them. He would --

Nick: I just don't want to complicate things any further.

Nikki: All right. I-I won't say anything.

Nick: All right. We should get over to jack'S.

Victoria: I'll talk to you later.

Nikki: All right. Goodbye, darling.

Phyllis: Thank you. For believing me. We'll talk later.

Sharon: You lying, conniving bitch.

Rey: Billy. Kyle. You know my wife, mia.

Billy: Cool.

Rey: Where's lola?

Kyle: Working.

Rey: Mm. That's good. I wouldn't want her to get any ideas.

Kyle: Mm-hmm.

[ Arturo chuckles ]

Rey: Hey, little brother. So, I guess this party means abby hasn't changed her mind about marrying you, huh?

Arturo: It's the real deal. No one's backing out.

Rey: Glad to hear it. Mia and I both are. Am I right?

Mia: Absolutely. All I want is for arturo to be happy.

Arturo: Wow.

Abby: [ Chuckles ]

Arturo: [ Chuckles ] Wow.

Abby: Hi. You said that already.

Arturo: You deserve two.

Abby: Thank you.

Arturo: Mm.

Abby: [ Giggles ]

Billy: Here you go.

Mia: Perfect timing.

Arturo: Wow!

Mia: Abby, you look amazing.

Abby: Thank you.

Mia: Yeah. Is that new makeup you're using?

Abby: No.

Mia: Hmm.

Victoria: Hi.

Jack: Hi, there. How are you?

Abby: [ Clears throat ]

Arturo: Thank you.

Nick: Hey, sis! Congratulations.

Abby: Hi. Thank you. Thanks. Mwah!

Victoria: Best wishes to the bride.

Abby: I'll take both.

Billy: That's smart. Newmans could use all the positive thoughts they could get when it comes to marriage.

Nick: From the abbott with zero successful marriages.

Kyle: Dinner is served.

Jack: Shall we head into the dining room?

Nick: Sure.

[ Doorbell rings ]

Jack: Oh! I will get that.

Kerry: Hi. Am I late?

Jack: You're right on time.

Abby: I appreciate you both coming. I know you have a lot going on with nikki's accident and dad's arrest.

Victoria: Are you kidding me? We would never miss your engagement party.

Victor: You know, king arthur, he was a boy, a very poor boy, right. He came from far away somewhere in the country, and he became so strong, so powerful, that he ruled all of england. Can you imagine that? See? "Once there was a boy named arthur, who lived in a time when men were born to be peasants or kings. The sword in the stone would change that." Can you imagine that? A sword in a stone. Boom! You put a sword in a stone. Wow! Whoa. That was a strong sword, right?

Jack: If I may, I'd like to thank you all for being here. And, uh, we haven't had a lot of things to celebrate in the abbott family lately, and I did not want to waste another minute in celebrating this, and welcoming arturo to the, uh, complicated abbott family.

Abby: [ Chuckles ]

Billy: Yeah, you got to be seriously in love to join this crazy family.

Abby: Don't listen to billy.

Arturo: No, he's right. I am seriously in love.

Mia: Let's hear it for serious love.

Jack: Abby, we couldn't be any happier for you. We hope the two of you have a lifetime of happiness. And, arturo, you're a lucky man.

Arturo: Oh, believe me, I know.

Abby: I'm just as lucky.

Arturo: [ Chuckles ]

Abby: Well, almost.

[ Laughs ]

Jack: Listen, if anyone else has something they'd like to say, please.

Nick: Well, as abby's big brother...

Abby: Uh-oh.

[ Laughs ]

Nick: [ Chuckles ] ...And as someone who represents the other side of the family, which is almost as complicated as the abbotts, um... arturo, you're getting a great girl. She is a handful. I'm kidding. Mostly. But, uh... she's awesome. So as long as you don't hurt her, we're good. So, to both of you, I hope you have a long and happy life together.

Victoria: Cheers.

Arturo: That's the plan.

Jack: Hear, hear.

Arturo: Cheers.

Victoria: Abby, while we've certainly had our ups and downs -- maybe more downs than ups --

Billy: "Maybe"? As far as siblings go, nick's okay, but you and I, uh... well, we've never really been as close as I would have liked for us to be. But we've been there for each other through the good times and the bad. And I know I haven't said this enough, but I love you, and I'm so proud of you. And you deserve all the happiness in the world. Both of you. A lifetime of it.

Abby: Thank you.

Mia: Aww. A sweet toast like that calls for more wine.

Jack: Everything all right?

Kerry: Yeah. I will be right back.

Mia: I think it's time we heard from the rosales family, don't you, rey?

Rey: Mia --

Mia: No, I think we heard how amazing abby is. It's only fair someone spoke up for arturo. Talk about what a great guy he is.

Phyllis: This no-sex zone that you've been living in is really making you uptight.

Sharon: I have every right to be upset.

Phyllis: Oh, yeah. Because I didn't throw the fire poker in the lake? Whatever.

Sharon: Because you tried to use it against us.

Phyllis: How many times do i have to tell you this? I did not put that poker into nikki's house.

Sharon: Then how did it get there?

Phyllis: I have no idea. The one that nikki found, I thought was a copy. When I went to the storage unit where I hid the original, it wasn't there.

Nikki: Why should we believe you?

Phyllis: Oh, I don't know. Maybe 'cause, for almost a year, I hid the fact that you killed J.T.?

Nikki: [ Scoffs ]

Sharon: That won't stop you from ratting us out now.

Phyllis: I'm not the one who spilled her guts to nick. Now victor knows.

Sharon: Not that you and I were there. You weren't lying to nicholas, were you?

Nikki: No! I don't want victor any more involved in this than he already is.

Phyllis: Too bad you're not concerned about the people who actually deserve your loyalty.

Nikki: Oh, please. You've been trying to form an alliance with sharon for months.

Phyllis: If I wanted to blow things up, you would know it.

Nikki: Oh, is that a threat?

Sharon: Would you two stop it? If we don't stick together, we are all going to prison.

Phyllis: Okay, for once, sharon is right. We cannot let anyone else know about this secret. The more people know, the more dangerous it gets. For all of us.

Victor: "And king arthur said to the boy, 'go forth and tell everyone that once there was a kingdom where men were brave and honorable, and that it can be that way again. The end."

[ Chuckles ] Did you like it, kate? Where's kate? Where'd she go?

Johnny: I don't know.

Victor: I'm gonna go find her. You stay here, okay? Kate?

Kyle: Anyone need a top-up?

Mia: Mm!

Rey: We're good.

Mia: Just wanted some more for your toast. Wouldn't want to miss out on that.

Rey: [ Sighs ] You're all grown up. But when I look at you, I still see that wild kid who did every crazy thing I told him not to.

Abby: [ Chuckles ]

Rey: I swear, it was like you were trying to give me a heart attack half the time. But we both survived.

[ Sighs ] I hope you see now that I was only trying to protect you.

Arturo: I do.

Rey: But there was one thing I could not protect you from -- what our father did to our family. His walking out on us hurt. And I know you still carry that with you.

Rey: So I know what it took for you to make this leap. And I'm glad you found someone who can show you what commitment really looks like. And someone who will also put up with you.

[ Laughter ] I love you, little brother. And I wish you and abby the very best.

Abby: Hear, hear.

Arturo: Cheers.

Mia: My turn.

Rey: Mia --

Mia: [ Clears throat ] I just want to say how happy I am for you, arturo. And abby. The abbotts have been so warm and gracious welcoming arturo into their family. I want abby to know that you're just as welcome in ours. We may not be as rich as these people, but we're the same. Right? We all have our challenges. Our problems. Struggles. Secrets. But underneath it all, there is love. In both families. I saw it when arturo went down on one knee at our vow renewal.

[ Sucks teeth ] I mean, hard to impress the woman who has everything, right?

[ Laughs ] Ohh, except a good makeup person.

Rey: Mia!

Mia: Oh, come on. What I want to say is one more thing! Congratulations. To both of you. To all of us! [ Laughs ] Oops. I need more wine.

Rey: You know, it's late. We should get going.

[ Mia groans ] Thank you all for, uh, a wonderful evening.

Jack: Uh, c-can i walk you out?

Rey: No, it's -- it's good. I got it. Thank you.

Mia: Hey. Call me, okay? I'll help you with the makeup.

Rey: Okay.

Mia: You look good, though.

Jack: Uh, why don't we all move to the living room?

Billy: [ Sighs ] You can probably thank me now.

Jack: For what?

Billy: Well, kerry's here because you listened to me, and you called her --

Jack: Eh, kerry's here and kerry's not here. Obviously you saw her walking in and out of the dining room all night, going in the living room on her cellphone. She's been distracted from the moment she got here.

Billy: Jack, you said she's a busy woman. Maybe it's just work.

Jack: I don't know.

[ Sighs ]

Jack: I just get the feeling I don't know her as well as I thought.

Jack: Listen, I'm gonna let mrs. Martinez know that we're done in the dining room.

Abby: Thank you for throwing this party.

Jack: My pleasure, sweetheart.

Abby: I don't know what mia's problem was tonight.

Arturo: Oh, don't let her get to you, all right? She had too much to drink. She made a bad joke. It's better to ignore her.

Abby: No. No way. If you don't talk to her, I will.

Mia: I don't know why you're so mad.

[ Huffs ]

Rey: Why couldn't you have just said something nice and left it at that, huh?

Mia: [ Scoffs ] Because I'm not a phony.

Rey: That doesn't give you an excuse to be rude, mia.

Mia: I was being honest. Saying what everyone sees but no one wanted to admit.

Rey: What -- what are you talking about?

Mia: This marriage means more to arturo than it does to abby.

Rey: That's crazy.

Mia: I know her type, okay? I work with women like her all the time. They're spoiled little princesses who use guys like arturo to piss off daddy.

Rey: Okay, that's -- that's the booze talking.

Mia: Maybe I had a little too much to drink.

Rey: No.

Mia: Hey. But I spoke my truth. After what you and arturo have been through?

[ Sobs ] I don't want to see arturo with a broken heart. And trust me, that is what will happen if he goes through with this marriage.

Rey: Hey. Look at me. I know you care about my brother. He can take care of himself.

Phyllis: Now that you believe me that I have not been tormenting nikki, we need to figure out who is.

Sharon: Whoever it is seems to know every move we've made since the night J.T. Was killed.

Phyllis: They've been going in and out of the ranch undetected.

Nikki: It's almost as if they've been watching us all this time.

Katie: Next time, you can come to my tea party.

Victor: Who are you talking to?

Katie: My friend. Oh, what friend? Grown-ups can't see him. Just me.

Victor: Oh. Must be a very special friend.

Katie: He is.
