Lola: I am so glad that you've been so great about... waiting. It just means that you want it to be right, just like I do, and that's so important to me.

Phyllis: Billy, isn't that what I told you when you wanted us to get back together?

Victoria: What?

Phyllis: Don't worry, i turned him down flat. He's all yours.

Victoria: You wonder how long you can go on giving so much. It makes you just want to say... "to hell with it."

Nick: I'll give you a live interview with accurate information. You will not get that here.

Rey: And here I thought you were the one newman who wouldn't let victor get away with murder.

Nick: My dad did not kill J.T.

Nikki: Who's there?

Victor: Thank god you're a terrible shot.

Nikki: [ Gasps ]

Victor: Baby!

Nikki: Oh, victor! Oh, my god, I'm so glad you're home. Wait. How -- how is it possible that you're here?

Mariah: Hey. You were all over the news last night.

Nick: Huh?

Mariah: That interview you gave to the local news about victor being innocent?

Nick: Yeah, well, all the media's doing a great job making dad look so guilty. Somebody has to defend him.

Mariah: You know, I wouldn't pick you out as one of his defenders. I mean, his daughters and nikki, but, uh, definitely not you.

Nick: My dad's not a murderer. He's done a lot of bad things, but not this.

Mariah: How can you be so sure?

Nick: Some things, you just know. It's clear my dad's being railroaded in the court of public opinion by all the media coverage, and it doesn't help that they keep showing that clip of him on gc buzz threatening J.T. Over and over again.

Mariah: I totally agree, that's why we stopped airing it.

Nick: I noticed that. I appreciate it. I just wish all the other media outlets would stop showing it.

Mariah: Well, there's nothing we can do about it going viral, and it's not the show's fault that your dad decided to go off the deep end, threatening J.T. During the interview. But if it helps at all, uh... I don't think that victor killed J.T., Either.

Nick: What makes you so convinced he's innocent?

Lola: We don't have to continue outdoing each other with these dates, you know...

Kyle: I know. You've made it very clear. We don't need to go to extremes to impress each other.

Lola: Well, it's not like it's a competition.

Kyle: Mm, definitely not.

Lola: But our meal at the athletic club was pretty great.

Kyle: Oh, it was incredible.

Lola: So, where are you taking me tonight?

Kyle: Outer space.

Lola: What?

Billy: What the hell is going on here?

Victoria: [ Gasps ] Billy! What are you doing here?

Billy: What am i doing here, vick?

Cane: All right, listen, this is not what it looks like, okay?

Billy: No, I think it's pretty obvious what it looks like, cane.

Victoria: No, stop it! He's not lying.

Cane: Billy.

Victoria: I kissed him.

Lola: Right there. It's beautiful.

Lola: When I learned about ursa major and ursa minor, I was told that they were called the big bear and the little bear, and they swung each other's tails around the north star, otherwise known as polaris.

Kyle: Huh. You know astronomy.

Lola: We took it in school because the planetarium was a great place to make out, so i guess some information actually sunk in.

Kyle: I was gonna show you cassiopeia next.

Lola: Oh, please. Show me. I'll be serious.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Try this. It should look like five stars that form a W.

Lola: I see them.

Kyle: The constellation is named after cassiopeia the queen.

Lola: The w is actually called an asterism.

Kyle: Can you stop trying to show me up for just a minute, please?

Lola: Okay, I'm sorry. I'll zip it.

Kyle: Cassiopeia was a queen in greek mythology known for her unrivaled beauty, but also her vanity. If you look between the five stars, there's a string of smaller stars that tie it together. They may not be as flashy or as ostentatious as the others, but they fill in it. They're the bond that give the celestial body its strength. There's one of these stars, right in the center, about equal distance from both ends. You see it?

Lola: Yeah, I see them.

Kyle: When I saw that star, I thought it had singular, understated beauty -- simple, but confident. I thought, uh, maybe that could be our star.

Lola: Our star.

Nick: Well, you know my reasons why I think dad's innocent. I still don't think I understand yours.

Mariah: It's just not victor's fault.

Nick: And what makes you say that? It's not like you two are close.

Mariah: No, but you forget that victor and I were co-conspirators on one his revenge plots, so I have an insight into things like this. In your dad's mind, after J.T. Tried to kill him twice, and he hurt victoria, death would be too good for him. Victor would try to find some diabolical way to torture him, and then he'd have him thrown in prison for the rest of his slow, miserable life.

Nick: So you think my dad's innocent because he's more twisted than your average murderer.

Mariah: Yep. I mean, in other words, this is just too mundane for victor. I think he's being framed.

Nick: That's exactly what this is. Look, I'm glad you've come around. You were all over this story when dad got arrested. Does this mean that gc buzz is no longer going to cover this?

Mariah: Yeah. I don't want to contribute to the rumor mill or, worse, make the mistake of reporting something that isn't true.

Nick: Thank you. It's nice to know we're on the same side.

Mariah: We definitely are.

Victor: You won't be needing this again.

Nikki: If I had hurt you, i never would have forgiven myself. Mwah!

Victor: No harm done, my sweet love.

Nikki: Oh, it's such a relief to have you home. And this house is so big, and leaving here alone...

Victor: Don't you ever worry about it again, okay?

Nikki: Well, how is it that you were released? I know that michael was working on a new bail hearing for you, but I didn't know it was today.

Victor: Well, he pulled some strings, he moved up the bail hearing.

Nikki: Why didn't you tell me?

Victor: Well, I didn't want to tell you in case they denied bail, you know? I wanted to surprise you. On second thought, I probably should have called first.

Nikki: [ Giggles ] Well, we won't ever be in that situation again because I'm never letting you leave the house.

Victor: And that will not be a problem. Look at this. [ Chuckles ]

Nikki: Oh!

Victor: It's a condition. A condition for my bail, you know? If I leave the confines of the ranch, they're gonna put me in jail again.

Nikki: I know that's going to be very difficult for you.

Victor: Mm.

Nikki: Feeling so confined. Promise me that you won't break the rules.

Victor: Never. I've missed you so much, my baby.

Nikki: Mm.

Victor: I can't believe that I'm home again. And holding you in my arms, hmm?

Victoria: I'll handle this. You should go.

Billy: No, he doesn't get to walk out of here without admitting what you've done. Come on, vick. You can't stand the guy. You wouldn't be doing this if you were thinking rationally, and, clearly, you manipulated her in some sort of way or took advantage of something.

Victoria: I knew what I was doing. I made a choice.

Billy: You were angry and upset when you left the club because of what phyllis said, okay? She was out of line. I understand that. And you -- you're just a sleaze who can't stay faithful to his wife. You know, cane, last time you did this, you were drunk on a business trip. So what's your excuse this time? What, are you lonely while lily sits in prison having lost her freedom, her kids, her entire life? Man, she deserves so much better than you.

Cane: Yeah, I know. You're right. She does. I'm sorry.

Victoria: No, there's no need to apologize. We just got caught up in a moment. The moment's over.

Cane: Excuse me.

Billy: [ Sighs ] Can we talk about this?

Victoria: I don't have anything to say. I'm really not in the mood for your lecture.

Billy: That's the last thing I want to do, but I do have some things to say, if you'll just... hear me out.

Lola: Okay, you win the date contest.

Kyle: Not yet. There's more.

Lola: There's more?

Kyle: Close your eyes. Okay. Open them. Our star... it's named kola.

Lola: [ Chuckles ] What's kola?

Kyle: Kyle and lola.

Lola: Oh, my god, that is so sweet.

Kyle: Well, I figured it was better than lyle or loky.

Lola: Well, it's pretty swoon-worthy.

Kyle: Mm.

Lola: Wait. How much did this cost? I thought we spoke about the money thing.

Kyle: Hang on. It was $19.95. I'll even split it with you, if that makes you feel better.

Lola: It costs less than 20 bucks to buy a star?

Kyle: That's me. Last of the big spenders.

Lola: This is so cheesy.

Kyle: Oh, so you like it.

Lola: Yes. I like it. It's perfect.

Billy: Well, that was not fun, seeing you and cane like that. I mean, I'm not sure i understand it. I -- I think maybe I know where it's coming from. You were hurt and shocked because of what phyllis said, and so you're acting out. Okay? I get it. I get that impulse. You end up doing something reckless and reactive, and, for a few minutes, it actually feels good. Maybe even powerful. I've done it. I've done worse, okay? So I am the last one to judge.

Victoria: You're right. You are the last person to judge. And all it takes is a walk down memory lane to prove that. I mean, it's not like we're dating. I don't owe you anything.

Billy: I didn't say that you do, vick.

Victoria: Good, then we're on the same page.

Billy: Yeah, I thought we were.

Victoria: You know, I had this nagging feeling that were going too fast, and I wanted to slow things down. I was right. You're on the rebound with phyllis. The only reason you wanted me is because she rejected you.

Billy: That's not true. At all. Just let me --

Victoria: Can't you see --

[ Sighs ]

Billy: Let me explain, please.

Victoria: There's a problem here if we're constantly having to explain our actions to each other.

Billy: Just let me try, okay? Please. Look, phyllis and I were working on something, okay? And it was going well. And it was comfortable and it was familiar, and I mistook that energy for something -- something else.

Victoria: That's exactly what happened between us.

Billy: No, it's not. They're not at all the same thing. That moment with phyllis was a fleeting...mistake, just like you and cane. You and me, we're different, vick. We're real. We are deep, okay? And we have found our way back to each other. And I didn't plan it. When I first started spending time with you here, I didn't plan it. I just wanted to be with you. I wanted to support you in this... rough patch.

Victoria: Well, you were going through a rough patch, too. Are you sure you just didn't want to be alone?

Billy: 100% sure. Me and you, we have nothing to do with phyllis, okay? And what she said to you, that was just to drive a wedge between the two of us, and if we let her, that means she wins.

Victoria: I thought you said our relationship had nothing to do with phyllis.

Billy: Look, we are not the same people as we were when we first fell in love. But spending this time with you, reconnecting with you, it helped me realize... it helped me remember that you were a strong, caring, dynamic woman. You've always been, even more so now. You said that there was a part of you that still loves me, that never stopped loving me. Vick, the only future I want is one with you.

Nikki: [ Sighs ] I've missed you so much.

Victor: You have no idea. That was wonderful, as always.

Nikki: Mm-hmm. Promise me we'll never be separated again.

Victor: Not by hell or high water.

Nikki: [ Chuckles ]

Victor: Sit yourself down. I'm gonna get myself a glass of water.

Nikki: I'm so glad nicholas was able to convince you to hire michael. You were being so stubborn.

Victor: Well, I was stubborn because I knew I was innocent, you know? I'm just glad michael baldwin was able to move up the bail hearing. By the way, when I was in that jail cell... nicholas came to visit me in the visiting room. And I knew he had something on his mind. And I had feeling it was pertaining to you, and then he told me that you had spoken to him.

Nikki: I -- I just couldn't keep the secret from him any longer.

Victor: Come here, sweetheart. What did you say to him?

Nikki: Well... I said that it was me, that I was the one...

Victor: Come on, tell me.

Nikki: [ Sighs ]

Victor: What?

Nikki: I struck J.T. In the back of the head and he died.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Nikki: Well, he was attacking victoria. I had to do something.

Victor: Of course you did. You had no other choice.

Nikki: Well, that's how it seemed at the time, but then... everything seemed to change, and the next thing I knew, the police had you down as their prime suspect. Can you ever forgive me?

Victor: Of course, my sweetheart. I would much rather have the focus on me than on you. That means you're safe. Now, the question is -- how do we keep you safe?

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Kyle: Ignore it.

Lola: Okay.

[ Chiming continues ] It's getting hard to ignore.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Why didn't I turn my ringer off? Why?

[ Sighs ] Perfect.

Lola: Who was it?

Kyle: Doesn't matter because whoever it was is dead to me now.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Lola: Okay, now I have to know.

Kyle: My dad. He's on his way home, knows about our date, doesn't want to interrupt anything.

Lola: Hmm, pretty cool dad.

Kyle: I can tell him to stay out longer.

Lola: What? That's crazy.

Kyle: He's a grown man. He can find something to do.

Lola: Yeah, I'm not gonna be the reason your father can't come to his own house after what was probably a very long day.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Fine. Guess you're right. Uh... he won't be home for another 20 minutes. Plenty of time to...

Lola: To what?

Kyle: Mm, make hot chocolate. Takes only three minutes in the microwave.

Lola: Oh, yeah, the instant stuff with the synthetic mini marshmallows? Love it.

Kyle: [ Sighs ] Coming right up.

[ Sighs ]

Nick: It is good to see you two together.

Victor: Whoops! Well, that pales in comparison to how I feel to be back home.

Nick: Surprised you invited me over. I thought you might want some time alone.

Victor: Now, we have to worry about how long I will stay, so there's no time to waste.

Nikki: I'm glad that we can all speak openly now. I told your father what I did.

Victor: I appreciated the fact that you publicly supported my innocence. Means a lot to me. And now we have to make absolutely sure that no one ever finds out about your mother.

Nikki: I think our top priority should be making sure that the charges against you are dropped.

Victor: Sweetheart. You've got to tell me everything about what happened, okay? Leave nothing out. I want every detail.

Victoria: I believe you meant what you said.

Billy: Every word.

Victoria: I know.

Billy: Then why do you have that look on your face? It's a look that a guy doesn't want to see when he tells someone that he loves them.

Victoria: Because I still have this burning question in my head. What would you have done if phyllis had taken you back?

Billy: [ Sighs ] It's a hypothetical, and it doesn't matter, vick.

Victoria: It matters to me.

Billy: No, what matters is I'm here. I'm here with you right now.

Victoria: That non-answer tells me everything I need to know.

[ Door opens ]

Cane: Hey.

Devon: Hey.

Cane: Can I -- can I come in?

Devon: Sure.

Cane: Okay.

Devon: What's going on with you?

Cane: Um, uh, billy abbott and I, we -- we got into it.

Devon: Over what?

Cane: That's not important right now. Listen, um, I came here to ask you if I could borrow the jet because I need to go and see lily today.

Devon: Why? Is she all right?

Cane: Yeah, she's fine. It's just -- I need to get there before visiting hours are over, okay, and if I can take the plane, it's gonna be faster than driving.

Devon: You just got back from seeing her. If you need to say something, why don't you call her?

Cane: What I need to go and say to her, I need to say face to face, all right? So I have to go right now, okay? So I can save my marriage.

Billy: Vick, I'm not gonna let this be the thing that brings us down, okay? Think of all the things that we've been through. We're supposed to be in this moment right here.

Victoria: You make it sound like fate. Maybe it was fate that phyllis told me that she rejected you and that you walked in on cane and me kissing.

Billy: Okay, phyllis burns everything to the ground. That's what she does. And she did such a good job that you turned to cane. Cane, of all people.

Victoria: Oh! So it does bother you.

Billy: Yes, it bothers me!

Victoria: And now you're gonna judge me for it.

Billy: That's not what I'm doing. Okay? You might think that I am because it lets you off the hook, and that's fine, I can accept that, but that's not what I'm doing. I'm not judging you. I told you that I understand. It was a meaningless, one-time thing. I get it.

Victoria: It wasn't just once.

Billy: Wh-what does that -- what does that mean?

Victoria: Cane and I, we kissed before.

Billy: When?

Victoria: Not that long ago.

Billy: So, what, you -- are you having an affair, or something?

Victoria: No, of course we're not having an affair...

Billy: What, are you just having sex, vick?

Victoria: No, we didn'T.

Billy: Okay, well, I'm confused because I thought we had something, and you're gonna derail that with -- with cane? What, do you have feelings for him? You want to be with him?

Victoria: Billy, I can't do this, okay? I can'T. I don't know what to say. You and me and cane and phyllis, I don't know! I don't know any of it! I just think you should go.

Billy: Well, I don't -- I don't want to go.

Victoria: Well, please, if you have any respect for me... just do what I ask.

Billy: [ Scoffs ]

Devon: Look, I know things have been rough for you since lily's been gone, but you've never talked about your marriage being in trouble, so what happened?

Cane: I can't sum this up in a sentence or two, all right? I just need to get to lily so i can straighten this out.

Devon: I don't think it's a good idea for lily to see while you're so emotionally all over the place.

Cane: Are you gonna give me the jet or not -- are you?

Devon: Sure, I'll give you the jet, if you tell me what's going on with you.

Cane: [ Sighs ]

Devon: You're always telling me to open up when I'm going through stuff, so why don't you do it now?

Cane: [ Sighs ]

[ Stammering ] It's like lily is just -- she's so far away from me, you know? It's like she's on the other side of the world, and... and I can't -- I don't see her in the morning. We can't say "good morning," we can't say "good night," and we don't get to tell each other about the things that happened during the day. I can call her, but every time i call her, I don't always get her on the phone, and when she calls me back, it's like sometimes the moment's gone, you know?

Devon: I understand. It's rough.

Cane: It's like the distance between us is getting bigger and it's getting bigger, and I -- i can't -- I can't bridge the gap.

Devon: Maybe the answer is to visit her more often, then.

Cane: I -- that's what I did last week, but all it does is make things worse because I go there, and I know she wants to hear about the kids, I know this, but deep down inside, it makes her so sad because she wants to be with them, but she can'T. She misses them so much.

Devon: Sure.

Cane: I don't know what it is like for her, what she has to do to get through the day, but... last week, during the visit, she just cut it short, and -- and i know I failed her, I just know it. And it's just -- it made me sick. It just made physically sick.

Devon: I understand. I understand. I'm sorry, man.

Cane: No. I don't deserve your forgiveness for what I just did. I just don't -- I don't deserve it.

Devon: What'd you just do?

Cane: [ Panting ] I ran into victoria, and she and billy, they'd be arguing, and... and we were both hurting, and then...

Devon: What?

Cane: We kissed.

Devon: What?

Cane: Oh, because her and billy -- billy walked in as things were heating up --

Devon: Hang on a second, hang on second. You cheated on my sister for a second time now, after you begged her to take you back?

Cane: Look, I have no defense for what I did! I know you hate me, but I hate myself worse for what I did. I don't know what is wrong with me!

[ Sighs deeply ]

Nikki: On halloween night, victoria and I went to move J.T.'S body out of chancellor park, but there was no body to be found. So whoever moved it had to have been the same person that burned down the stables and left J.T.'S shirt behind. A few weeks ago, I came home to find these clothes, the ones that J.T. Had been wearing that night, on my bed.

Nick: Then the night we showed up and found the poker...

Victor: I'm so sorry, my sweetheart, okay? I can only imagine what you must have gone through.

Nikki: [ Sighs ]

Victor: But I don't want you to worry about it now. I'll take care of everything.

Nikki: How can I not worry? This is all my fault. I took someone's life.

Victor: Sweetheart, you saved victoria's life.

Nikki: Yes, I know, but... it seems that it would just be easier for everybody if i confessed.

Victor: No, no, no. Don't say that. You will not do that. But what we do have to do is we have to find out who the other person is who knows about all this.

Nick: Well, whoever it is is keeping close tabs on you. It can't be a coincidence that the poker showed up the night of J.T.'S memorial.

Victor: Whoever did this is a sick person, and we will beat them at it. First mistake they made is to leave this blood-stained shirt and the poker with you instead of taking it to the police. That means we could destroy the evidence.

Nikki: No, absolutely not.

Kyle: I thought you'd a snob about this synthetic hot chocolate.

Lola: Are you kidding? I grew up with this stuff. This and mac-and-cheese out of the box. You know, that shade of orange does not exist in nature. Oh, my god. You have never had mac-and-cheese out of the box, have you?

Kyle: I'm sure I have. Maybe in college?

Lola: [ Scoffs ] Well, next time we have dinner, I will make you some.

Kyle: Mm, and I'll make the hot chocolate because I've got that down.

Lola: Thank you for tonight.

Kyle: My pleasure.

Lola: I should probably get going.

Kyle: Why? We've got nothing to hide from my dad. This is about as g-rated as it gets.

Lola: I told abby and devon i was gonna send them my revised menus, and I told them that i would do it tonight.

Kyle: Gotcha.

Lola: I'll just grab this.

[ Chuckles ] Thank you. I'll talk to you tomorrow, okay?

Kyle: Or call me before you go to bed?

Lola: Mwah! I love you.

Kyle: I love you, too.

Lola: We're saying this now, aren't we?

Kyle: We are. Oh.

Lola: My purse.

Nikki: We not destroying this evidence. Depending on the case that michael is building, this is the only thing that could prove that victor is innocent.

Nick: But it also proves you're guilty.

Nikki: Hopefully nobody will ever see these anyway, but it's good to have an insurance policy. It's good that these things are in our possession instead of our tormentors who are trying to frame your father. I don't want to hear another word about it.

Nick: [ Sighs ]

Victoria: Mom! Are you home?

Nikki: We're in here!

Victoria: Oh, good, because there's something that I need to talk to you about. Oh, my god. Dad.

Victor: Hi, sweetheart.

Victoria: When did they release you?

Victor: My sweet girl. Just today, on bail.

Victoria: Oh, my gosh, this such a relief. It was ridiculous that you were locked up in the first place. We're gonna make sure that they clear your name.

Victor: I am just happy that I'm here now to protect you and your mother.

Nikki: So, um, your father knows everything that your brother knows now. I had to tell him. This had gone on too long.

Victor: How have you been?

Victoria: I'm okay. I think. I'm just more worried about mom. This has been hardest on her.

Victor: Well, I'm here now. And now that your brother and i both know, no one is going to beat us.

Devon: I don't get you, man, because if you're feeling hurt or lonely, you go to your family or you to friends. You don't jump in the arms of another woman.

Cane: It wasn't --

Devon: How disrespectful could you be to lily?

Cane: I wasn't thinking. It was just like everything was just, like, -- like a blur.

Devon: Don't you and victoria newman hate each other? What the hell's that about?

Cane: I can't explain it. I can'T. It's like we're just so... just so emotionally raw, and we just... we just see it in each other.

Devon: Oh, I don't need to hear any of this, really.

Cane: Look, I want to change and I want to go back and change this, but I can't, and all I can do right now to make this better is to just go and see lily and just be honest with her. All right, look, I know you hate me, I know this, but, please... please, I'm asking you to help me.

Victor: Whoever left this here, we're gonna find the bastard.

Nick: You're damn right, we are.

Victor: Now, I will do everything from within here, but you know, because of my ankle bracelet, I can't move beyond the perimeter of the ranch. So you're gonna have to help me.

Nick: I will do whatever it takes to protect mom and vick. And you.

Victor: Would you have thought this possible six months ago?

Nick: What, us working together?

Victor: Yeah. You and I are protecting our family now, son. And I'm very happy to have you by my side.

Nikki: I need you to understand why I told your father and nicholas the truth.

Victoria: I do now. I know this secret has been eating away at you, and me. I think we could use the support.

Nikki: Yeah. It's been affecting both of us, mentally and emotionally. Our work, family, relationships...

Victoria: Yeah, it's definitely part of the reason that I've been holding back with billy. I just -- after everything that i experienced with J.T., I've been doubting myself. Starting a new relationship, I'm just afraid that it's gonna end in ruin. But I suppose when it comes to billy, I'm right.

Nikki: Did something happen between the two of you?

Victoria: I found out that he tried to get back together with phyllis, and he only came to me when she said no. And phyllis was more than happy to let me know that I was his second choice.

Nikki: Well, honey, I would take anything that phyllis said with a grain of salt. I mean, you and billy have years behind you. You have a deep relationship, beautiful children together. And I've seen how the two of you act around each other lately. If you ask me, you're not second to anyone in his eyes.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I don't know, mom. I'm just so confused. I mean, this whole ordeal with J.T. And his death still hanging over our heads... I told billy today that I am no one's backup plan. But, I don't know, do you think I should get back together with him?

Cane: I don't know if I can make it with this secret hanging over me. It'S... it's just eating away at me.

It really is because I know my sister isn't gonna make it through her prison sentence unless she believes that she has the support of her devoted and faithful husband. So what you can do is you can go home and figure out how to deal with it, and that'll be your punishment. And lily will do whatever she has to do to get through being in jail without ever finding out what you and victoria did.
