Episode #11524 ~ Victoria struggles with her feelings for Billy; Cane confides in Jill; Nikki takes matters into her own hands.

Provided By Suzanne

Previously on "the young and the restless"...

Nikki: I have to tell the police. I have to tell them I'm the one that killed J.T.

Jill: Victoria has never stopped loving you, and you are too smart to let her get away again. At least, I hope you are.

Cane: You know, when lily was here, she did so much for this family that I didn't appreciate. As far as being a husband goes...

Jill: What about that?

Cane: Lily deserves better. Let's just leave it at that, okay?

Kerry: You wan to take me to a five-star resort on bora bora?

Jack: If you're okay with that.

Jack: Ooh.

Kerry: Gosh! Oh! I'd forgotten how cold it gets in genoa city.

Jack: Well, give me a few seconds. I can warm you up.

Kerry: [ Sighs ] Ooh. Let's just pretend we're back in our bungalow, hm? Can you hear it, the sounds of the water lapping all around us? The sun setting on the horizon in the most beautiful shades of orange.

Jack: I think bora bora cast a spell on you.

Kerry: [ Chuckles ]

[ Sighs ] I can't remember the last time i went on a vacation.

Jack: Well, we're just gonna have to keep this island spirit alive until the next time we run away together.

Kerry: Oh. So you're saying you approve of me in my bikini?

Jack: I approve of you in your bikini. I approve of you out of your bikini. I think I like you best wearing just your smile.

Kerry: Why did we ever come back?

Jack: I have absolutely no idea.

Billy: Well, welcome back.

Kerry: [ Chuckles ]

Billy: Guess I don't have to ask you how your trip went.

Victoria: You cannot confess to killing J.T.

Nikki: I'll tell the police that I acted on my own. I just can't keep lying like this. It's destroying everybody. You, me, reed, victor.

Victoria: Listen to me for one minute, okay? The police do not have J.T.'S body, which means there's practically no way that they can convict him.

Nikki: He shouldn't have to go through it at all. The thought of him being locked away for even a minute for a crime he didn't commit --

Victoria: I know. I hate the situation as much as you do. You know that. But I just came from seeing dad, and he is his same strong, resilient self. And he's gonna fight these charges with every resource that he has. And he's gonna survive it. But could you say the same thing for yourself if you were behind those bars?

Jill: I'm all for making the most of a winter break, but don't mattie and charlie ever come home?

Cane: Yeah, you know, mostly to raid the fridge or recharge their batteries. But, um, next time they're here, I'll get them to sit down so that we can figure out when we can see you, 'cause I know they'd love to do that. Um... but, hey, uh, do you -- do you want anything?

Jill: I was gonna ask you the same thing. You seem like you're a million miles away.

Cane: No, it's nothing.

Jill: Listen [Scoffs] The last time I saw you, you were all energized. You were gonna step up for your kids 100%. And now you're running on empty. What's the matter?

Cane: I don't know. I mean, I can do the dad thing. But, you know, the husband thing is kind of, um... it's kind of tripping me up.

Jill: What do you mean?

Cane: I feel like, whatever i do, I'm letting lily down.

Jill: Listen, cane, you know that you can talk to me about anything.

Cane: That's okay. I don't need to. I can handle this. It's okay.

Jill: Pbht! [ Laughs ] Well, you're not doing a very good job of it. Sweetheart, if you keep things bottled up inside you, it eats at you, and then you explode at somebody -- like your kids, or somebody else even less deserving. Please trust me. Come on. I have had quite a bit of experience at this life thing, all right? If I haven't done it or thought about doing it, I've known somebody who has. I have also been known to give very impeccable advice.

Cane: So you think confession's good for the soul?

Jill: Lay it on me. You'll feel better.

Cane: I kissed another woman.

Victoria: You know, a couple of days ago, I was afraid I was gonna lose you forever.

[ Sighs ] Do you realize what a miracle that it is that I'm sitting with you here right now?

[ Sighs ] Mom, you're alive. You got a second chance. And you want to throw that away by leaving the icu and going to the county jail? You're gonna be treated in an infirmary until you recover, and then they'll just throw you in with the general population. Or maybe they'll decide you're well enough now, and they'll just throw you in right away.

[ Sighs ] After everything that you've been through, with your M.S., I really don't see you fully recovering in that place.

Nikki: Well, don't think that way.

Victoria: Mom, it's all we can think. We have to. It's true. And what would dad say about you jeopardizing your health and your life for him when he does everything that he can to protect you?

Nikki: He needs to know.

Victoria: Mom, he knows what's important. He knows that you're being taken care of. He knows that you're in good hands. He knows that you love him, and that you're okay.

Nikki: But if he --

Victoria: He may never go to trial, mom. The charges against dad, they might get thrown out. Please. Please, please, let's just wait and see what happens. No more talk about police or confessing to anyone. I just want you to focus on getting stronger so that you can go home. Please, mom. Promise me.

Nikki: Okay. You're right. Getting out of this hospital will be my top priority. I promise.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Thank goodness. Thank you. [ Sighs ] A migraine hope

Jack: This is our bungalow.

Billy: Mm-hmm.

Jack: There's kerry, coming out of the water. Wow! Look at you. Oh, my god.

Kerry: Oh, my gosh. Stop. Next. He loves that one.

Jack: Um, uh, this is... us on the beach. Us having drinks on the beach.

Billy: Yeah, it's great. I really -- I-I get the picture. You two had the, uh, time of your lives.

Kerry: Billy's probably getting a little bora-bored with the photos. I mean, I was there, and even i don't want to see all of them.

Jack: Yeah, you're probably right. Not fair to go on and on about our tropical vacation while billy was up to his knees in snow. But not to worry. We brought a little bit of the islands back to the frozen abbotts.

Billy: Ah.

Jack: This is for you. Go ahead.

Billy: Wow. You shouldn't have. Honestly. You... really shouldn't have.

Kerry: If you guys will excuse me, I've got to make a few work calls. Let my assistant know I'm back.

Jack: Yeah.

Billy: Thank you, kerry.

Kerry: Mm-hmm.

Billy: [ Clears throat ] Well. My, oh, my. You two are cozier than ever

Jack: It shows?

Billy: Yeah. I'm just surprised how fast this is all happening, this new relationship.

Jack: Eh, you know how it is. We're getting to know each other. I'm telling you, the more I know her, the more I like her.

Billy: Huh.

Jack: You don't have a problem with that?

Billy: No. You're happy, I'm happy.

Jack: I'm very happy.

Billy: Good. And now that we have that out of the way, there's a couple other serious issues that we need to discuss. While you were sunning yourself and getting tipsy on tahitian rum, all hell broke loose for the newmans here in genoa city.

Jack: I saw the news.

Billy: Yeah, well, the news only covered half of it. Wait till you hear this.

Cane: All right, are you gonna say something?

Jill: I know it was really hard for you to be honest with me, okay, and I'd like to think it's 'cause you know I'm the last person to judge. But what in the name of holy heaven were you thinking, kissing another woman?

Cane: It was one kiss.

Jill: Oh, and now you're defending yourself!

Cane: I'm not defending myself. I'm explaining to you what happened, okay? It was one kiss, and I regretted it from the moment it happened.

Jill: All right. Who is she? Do I know her?

Cane it doesn't matter. Look, we're not friends. I'm not even attracted to her, okay?

Jill: [ Scoffs ] How did your lips end up on hers, then?

Cane: I got all this upsetting news, and

[Sighs] I was angry at the world and myself, and we were arguing. The next thing you know... we were kissing.

Jill: And what about her? This other woman?

Cane: First of all, there is no "other woman." And secondly, she's probably as confused about this as I am.

Jill: Forgive me for saying this. I do realize that it's been quite a few months without any female companionship --

Cane: All right, trust me, she is the last woman that I want to have "female companionship" with.

Jill: [ Sighs ] Okay. You know, passion is really close to anger, and hate is just a thin line from love. You have been shutting off all your emotions ever since lily was imprisoned. And all of a sudden, you get all these feelings, and these feelings, even though they're anger, it just swept you away.

Cane: Lily is the woman i love, and lily is the woman I need in my life. She is my heart and my soul, and everything that is good about me is because of her. And I -- [ Sighs ] I hate myself for what happened. And I'm trying to pretend it didn't happen -- block it out -- but I can'T. 'Cause all I do is remember how I lied to her about juliet and hilary's car crash, and i know it only made matters worse. So what I'm gonna do is, I'm gonna do the right thing this time, and I'm gonna tell lily the truth.

Victoria: Thank you.

[ Sighs ] Thank you so much for seeing me on short notice like this.

Dr. Mosely: I'm glad you called. What's been going on?

Victoria: Gosh, I don't even know where to start. My mother nearly died. And now she's in intensive care.

[ Sighs ] Reed is home for the holidays. And that's been very complicated. And last but not least, my dad has been arrested for J.T.'S murder.

Dr. Mosely: I saw that on the news. That must be so difficult. How have you been handling it?

Victoria: I... I feel totally responsible.

Dr. Mosely: It's interesting you feel responsible. I'm wondering why that is.

Victoria: Well, I know why.

[ Sighs ] Because it all comes back to me. Because if I hadn't brought J.T. Back into my life, then none of these things would be happening. There's not one day that goes by that I don't wish that I could go back and make everything disappear. His murder. The police investigation. How his father being gone is affecting my son. Everyone is suffering because of my bad choice.

[ Scoffs ] And now my dad -- my dad is in jail because of me. He hated J.T. He never made that a secret. Which is why everyone thinks that he's guilty.

Dr. Mosely: It sounds like you don't think that he's guilty.

Victoria: No, I know that my father's not guilty. And I know that for a fact, because -- because I know my father.

Dr. Mosely: So, tell me, how are you managing your anxiety?

Victoria: Well, that's the best part. Heh... I kissed two men in one day. So you tell me. How do you think I'm managing things? Because, honestly, I feel like I'm going out of my mind.

Tech: At safelite autoglass

Jack: Wow. You go out of town for a few days, a hell of a lot can happen.

Billy: Incredible, right?

Jack: You know, I won't lose any sleep over victor being behind bars, but the nikki thing bothers me. They're sure that she's gonna be okay?

Billy: Vicki said that she's doing surprisingly well. Physically, anyway. Of course, she's stressed out with victor being in jail. Victoria's having a rough time with this, too. Of course, she swears up and down that her dad didn't have anything to do with J.T.'S murder.

Jack: Sounds like the two of you have been spending more time together.

Billy: Yeah. You know, I'm just trying to be there for her and the kids in any capacity that she needs.

Jack: Feel like you're getting closer?

Billy: Uh, yeah. I guess you could say that.

Jack: More-than-friendly closer?

Billy: Well...

Jack: Are you blushing?

Billy: [ Gruffly ] Come on! I don't blush.

Jack: Okay. So go on.

Billy: Um...

[ Clears throat ] Well, we, uh... [ Sighs ] We kissed. Kinda sorta kissed. And then we -- we talked about it. We talked about our feelings.

Jack: Very mature.

Billy: Yeah.

Jack: So, tell me more.

Billy: Well, she's concerned about, you know, the circumstances, where my heart really is, and, um, what this all means kind of stuff.

Jack: Do you know?

Billy: Yeah. I do. I'm crazy about her, jack. I always have been.

Jack: Okay. Um... I'm gonna give you some advice you didn't ask for. Forget the chemistry. Forget the attraction that you've never lost. Forget how good it feels to be there for victoria and the kids. If you're going to get involved with her again, you have to be absolutely certain. It is a complete commitment. One you cannot afford to even appear to make unless you are certain this is what you want. Are you really up to that?

Victoria: Thank you.

Dr. Mosely: Take your time.

Victoria: I just feel like i should have caution tape and those little orange cones around me. Kissing two men in one day?

[ Huffs ] What was I thinking? What was I doing? Just makes absolutely no sense.

Dr. Mosely: Let's try to unpack what's going on. Now, who were these men?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Billy.

Dr. Mosely: Your ex-husband. And the other?

Victoria: A man that I used to work with. A lying, manipulative cheater, whose machinations caused a lawsuit that caused some irreparable damage to my company. And then, on top of that, when reed was dating his daughter, he was a complete imbecile about all of it.

Dr. Mosely: Is there an underlying attraction despite your animosity?

Victoria: Absolutely no. Never.

Dr. Mosely: Let me see if I understand. You kissed a man you dislike and are not attracted to. Tell me, what has your relationship with billy been like recently?

Victoria: It's been wonderful. He's been very supportive, and a literal shoulder to lean on. And he makes me smile. And laugh. Just like... just like we used to.

Dr. Mosely: And the kiss? What was it like to kiss billy again?

Victoria: I enjoyed it very much.

Dr. Mosely: It sounds like you're thinking of reuniting with him romantically?

Victoria: I never imagined that I would. I never thought that things could be like this between us ever again. I don't want to say it out loud, but, um... he kind of makes me happy.

Dr. Mosely: And yet...?

Victoria: And yet how can i have these feelings for billy, and then kiss a man that i loathe?

Dr. Mosely: That's a good question.

Jill: Honey, please. Look at me. Look at me.

Cane: [ Sighs ]

Jill: Be honest with me. This kiss -- it was really a meaningless kiss? Once, never to be repeated?

Cane: I've already told you --&

Jill: I know what you've told me. I know what you've told me. But the way you're reacting, it makes me think that maybe this kiss meant a little more than that, and you don't want to admit it.

Cane: It was nothing. It was nothing. Look, I never even intended for it to happen, all right? I don't even like her! Believe me.

Jill: I do. I do believe you, so I'm gonna give you a great piece of advice. Keep your mouth shut, okay? Never, never breathe this to another living soul. And never, ever speak a word of it to lily.

Nate: And how is my favorite patient doing today?

Nikki: That's why I wanted to see you -- for an update.

Nate: What do you want to know?

Nikki: How soon can i get out of here?

Cane: Listen, telling lily is the right thing to do.

Jill: Okay. Have you thought for one minute about what this particular piece of information would do to her? She will spend the rest of her days in there wondering what you're doing, and who you're doing it with. She will doubt herself. She will doubt your love for her. She will doubt her place in this home. And as much as you've been struggling without her, you and I both know that that pales in comparison to what she's been through. She has lost her freedom, cane. She's cut off from her family. And the only way she is garnering any strength for herself is from her loved ones. So, please. She is depending on you. Do not undermine her this way.

Cane: That's the last thing that I want to do.

Jill: Just admit that you made a stupid mistake and let it go. And spend the rest of your time devoting all of your energy to being the man that she needs you to be.

Cane: Okay.

Jill: Mm! And promise me one thing, please. Whoever this woman is who kissed you right out of the blue, would you stay the hell away from her? Because she sounds like nothing but trouble.

Victoria: Maybe by kissing cane, I was [Sighs] Subconsciously trying to sabotage my chances of reconciliation with billy.

Dr. Mosely: That's an interesting theory. Tell me more.

Victoria: Maybe I knew how things... would most likely end, and I wanted to ruin it before he could disappoint me again. There's a million different reasons why my marriage to billy didn't work out, and why we never got back together.

Dr. Mosely: Tell me about those reasons.

Victoria: Billy lied to me. He had a gambling problem that he was in rehab for. He was very, very reckless. And he just got out of a -- another relationship recently.

Dr. Mosely: Well, that's who he was. Let's focus on now. Who do you think billy is today?

Victoria: He's changed. He's more mature. He's thoughtful and careful. Steady.

Dr. Mosely: But?

Victoria: He's changed, but have I? I trusted my instincts when i got back together with J.T. And look at what that did. Look at what that did to my life. To my children, and to my family. I trusted my heart, and... now I feel so ashamed.

Dr. Mosely: Let's take your heart out of the equation. Now, if I recall correctly, billy was never physically abusive, was he? Controlling? Cruel?

Victoria: No, no, no. Billy's nothing like J.T. He would never try to hurt me. I just don't know if I'm ready to dive into another relationship.

Dr. Mosely: What if, instead of diving in, you eased yourself in a little at a time? At your own pace.

Victoria: I guess I could.

Dr. Mosely: But before you go down that path, I would encourage you to have an honest, open conversation with billy. Tell him about your hopes, and your fears, about building a new relationship with him, and see how he reacts. And then decide if you're truly ready to move forward.

Billy: I'm glad you're asking me the tough questions. That's what a big brother's supposed to do.

Jack: You really ready to try again with victoria?

Billy: Yeah. I most definitely am.

Jack: I think that's great. So what's stopping you?

Billy: Victoria. I don't -- [ Sighs ] She hasn't actually said that she wants to get back together.

Jack: Have you? Or are you just both in a holding pattern, waiting for the other person to make the first move?

Billy: I think she wants to. But, of course, with everything that I've put her through in the past, you know...

Jack: Maybe it's time you let her know where you stand. And that you're standing on both feet.

Billy: What would you do?

Jack: Me?

Billy: Besides jetting off to bora bora, of course.

Jack: I wouldn't let her wonder for one more minute if I was ready to move forward. I would do something to remind her how great we were together. Some gesture that -- that lets her know how much she means to me.

Billy: You're smarter than you look, jack.

Jack: Wait, wait, wait. Where are you going?

Billy: To do something that i should have done a while ago. Wish me luck.

Jack: Good luck. Smile dad.

"The young and the restless"

will continue. Look. It's over.

Nate: [ Sucks teeth ] Okay, so, I'd like to see your vitals a little stronger and more stable...

Nikki: [ Sighs ]

Nate: ...Before we talk about letting you go back home.

Nikki: How much longer do I have to stay here?

Nate: Let's -- let's take it day by day, okay?

Nikki: But I'm already feeling so much better.

Nate: Yes, you've rebounded quite nicely. But if you were to leave before you're ready, and something were to happen --

Nikki: It won'T.

Nate: Your recovery has been nothing short of miraculous so far. And I won't let anything jeopardize that, including you. So, once I think you're ready, I'll give you my seal of approval, and you can be on your way. But until then, I want you to lay back. I want you to relax, and enjoy being waited on hand and foot. Doctor's orders.

Nikki: Okay. Whatever you say.

Nate: Okay. We'll see you later.

Nikki: Thanks.

Jill: So, from the look of surprise on your face, I assume billy didn't tell you I was back in town?

Jack: No, he didn't mention it. But, you know what, he's a little preoccupied these days. I'm always delighted to see you.

Jill: Look at you! Oh, lovely linen. But it's winter. What's up with that?

Jack: Those were my bags we passed on the way in. I just got back from my vacation. Bora bora. Sublime.

Jill: Mm.

Jack: What about you? You and colin in town for a-post-holidays family reunion?

Jill: [ Sighs ] No, I made this trip solo. Colin and I are taking a little break from each other. It's a messy situation. I don't want to get into it right now. But that is the reason that i haven't been in touch as much as I'd like.

Jack: I'm sorry to hear that.

Jill: Don't be. You know, sometimes love has an expiration date. But you get up, and you move forward. Just like jabot has done without ashley, right? Have you heard from her lately?

Jack: Radio silence.

Jill: Oh, dear. It was so terrible, what she did, lying about your dna. And then fudging the results of those tests.

Jack: Yeah, not exactly her best moments. But you know what? I wasn't exactly faultless myself.

Jill: Well, anyway. Congratulations on being an official abbott again. I know how much it meant to you to find out the truth.

Jack: I have to admit, it does feel good.

Jill: I just wish that ashley had come clean before kyle felt compelled to desecrate phillip's grave for the dna.

Jack: Oh, I'm still horrified that it ever got to that point.

Jill: Well, that makes two of us.

Jack: Then maybe we could make a deal? Let's never mention it again.

Jill: Oh, boy. Agreed. So, billy tells me that you've been working really hard to unite the family. Team abbott and all that.

Jack: Yeah, it's what dad would have done. What dad would have wanted.

Jill: Your dad. John certainly was a man among men, wasn't he?

Jack: Oh, that he was.

Jill: And he'd be very proud of you.

Jack: Thanks. Thanks. It means a lot to me to hear you say that.

Jill: Mm.

Billy: Nice timing. Where are you coming from?

Victoria: Uh, I was -- I was at the hospital earlier.

Billy: Yeah? How's mom?

Victoria: She's doing much better, thank goodness.

Billy: Good. Well, send her my love.

Victoria: I will. I'm really glad you stopped by.

Billy: Good. Well, great minds think alike. Please. Ladies first.

Victoria: Oh.

[ Chuckles ] You know, um... I've been thinking a lot since our last conversation.

Billy: Yeah. Me too.

Victoria: And... I realized that I put a lot of the responsibility on you, asking you to sort out where your feelings for me were coming from. And asking you to be sure that you know what it is that you want. But I realized that maybe I did that because I wasn't ready to be honest with myself.

Billy: So, how do you feel about me? About us? Having a, uh... about us having a romantic relationship?

Victoria: I do have feelings for you. Very, very strong feelings. But I-I honestly don't know if i can be in a committed relationship with anyone again. I don't know if I can be that vulnerable, that trusting, that open again.

Billy: Because of what happened with J.T.?

Victoria: And because of what happened with us. I just don't want history repeating itself. I-I don't think I could take it. And I wouldn't want to do that to the kids. I wouldn't want for us to try and then fail. Because... we wouldn't be the only ones hurt, you know? Our hearts wouldn't be the only ones breaking. You and I, we've been through a lot. We really have. And I just -- I don't think I could take it again if it didn't work out. So I just want you to think about that before you tell me whatever it is that you came here to say.

Jack: Jill atkinson, may i introduce kerry johnson.

Jill: The reason for your tropical glow.

Jack: Mm.

Jill: Ker-- [ Gasps ] Kerry johnson! You are jabot's new phenomenon!

Jack: Your reputation precedes you.

Jill: Ahh.

Kerry: Very pleased to meet you, jill.

Jack: Jill was married to my father. She's billy's mother.

Jill: And a former C.E.O. Of jabot, I might add.

Kerry: Oh, wow. So you two go way back.

Jack: Oh, yeah.

Jill: Way, way back. Whoa! The things I could tell you about jack.

Jack: That won't be necessary.

Jill: [ Laughs ] What, are you afraid she won't approve of your misspent youth?

Kerry: I am just happy to hear that she's family and not another ex-wife.

[ Chuckles ] Sorry.

Jill: Mm.

Kerry: He's been married to half the women I've met here. I mean, better to keep them as friends than enemies, I suppose, but still. I don't know. The sheer number.

Jill: Mm-hmm.

Kerry: Was it something I said?

Jill: You want to take this one, jack?

Jack: I-it wasn'T... always platonic. I-I can explain.

Kerry: Well, this, I'm dying to hear.

Billy: I think I know better than anyone what you've been going through lately, and I want to be there for you. I want to be the person that you turn to to share your burdens with, to be the safe place. The man that you deserve. The time that we've been spending together here in the house with and without the kids, it's just -- it's felt right. It's felt true. And we've both been through hell together and apart, and yet... here we are. Like it's meant to be. And case in point. Close your eyes for a second, okay? Do me a favor. Close your eyes.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Okay, fine, billy.

Billy: You keep them closed.

Victoria: [ Chuckles ] Hurry up.

Billy: Just have some patience, okay?

Victoria: Please.

[ Chuckles ] All right.

Billy: Okay. Open them up.

Victoria: What is this about?

Billy: This -- well, it's a little bit of a re-gift, but i don't think jack is gonna mind. It -- it looks like the hat that you wore in jamaica.

Victoria: It does look like the hat.

Billy: Yeah, the hat that you were doing the limbo...

Victoria: Oh.

Billy: ...With, and dancing on the beach.

Victoria: Actually, I think that you were doing most of the dancing that night. "The funky chicken."

Billy: Oh, great. So you remember.

Victoria: [ Giggles ] How do you forget things like that?

Billy: Well, what I remember, it was the most beautiful, perfect time of my life. And I remember thinking then that we belong together. And that's exactly why I asked you to be my wife. Don't worry. This is not a proposal. I guess all I'm saying is that, everything that I felt then, I feel now.

How are we feeling, mrs. Newman? Anything I can get you?

Nikki: As a matter of fact, yes. I'd like the necessary forms to sign to check myself out of here.

I'll have to run that past dr. Hastings first.

Nikki: I've already spoken to him, and I'm ready to leave.

But signing yourself out against his medical advice --

Nikki: Is my legal right. I'm aware of the risks, and I'm willing to take them. So please bring me the papers.

Kerry: So, you're saying you and jill --

Jack: Yes, but --

Kerry: While she was married to your father?

Jack: It was years ago. Decades ago.

Kerry: Mm. That young playboy I read about.

Jack: Another lifetime.

Kerry: It was just the one time? There was another dalliance when we were both un...connected. And -- but -- [ Stammers ] Jill, help me out here.

Jill: What? Oh. Uh... my history with jack is just that -- history.

Jack: Ancient history.

Jill: Well, put it that way. Anyway, we're happily in the friend zone. Once in a while we are a thorn in each other's sides.

Jack: Friends. Nothing more. You have my word.

Jill: The man speaks the truth.

Kerry: [ Scoffs ] Well, it's quite the story. I guess at least I can share my past without compunction knowing that nothing I've done has ever been this, um...

Jill: Scandalous?

Kerry: My stories would pale in comparison.

Jack: How do you really feel? We can talk about this.

Kerry: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Stop. It's not necessary. Really. I s but, um... I love that you're so honest with me.

Jack: You really okay with this? I know it's a lot take in.

Kerry: We're hardly children, jack. We all have scars. We all have a few skeletons rattling around in our closets.

Jack: Thank you for being so gracious and understanding.

Kerry: [ Sighs ] I got to get home and unpack. I don't even want to think about the work waiting for me at jabot.

Jack: I'll give you a call?

Kerry: Counting on it.

[ Chuckles ]

Jill: It was a delight meeting you, kerry.

Kerry: All mine.

Jack: And... come on. I'll walk you out.

Kerry: No, stop fussing. You've got company.

Jill: Jack, look at this. Look at the babies.

Jack: What do you got? Oh!

Jill: Aren't they so adorable?

Nate: Cane. [ Sighs ]

Cane: Hey.

Nate: Hey.

Cane: Come here. Sit down.

Nate: Oh, looks like both of us needed a break from the office, huh?

Cane: Yeah. Well, you know, a change of routine can, uh, sometimes be better than a vacation.

Nate: Yes. I could use both.

Cane: So, what are you doing here?

Nate: I had to tell an anxious patient that she had to spend a little more time in the hospital. She was less than happy.

Cane: Yeah. Yeah. I take it was, uh, nikki newman?

Nate: I can neither confirm nor deny.

Cane: Heh... well, uh, devon told me that you got mixed up with victor trying to flee the country with her.

Nate: Yes, an adventure I'd like to not repeat.

Cane: Well, I'm glad you got out of that unscathed.

Nate: Yeah. I just -- I -- you know, I wasn't sure at first, though, you know. Most people probably think I'm crazy, but I just couldn't turn my back on her. Not even to save my own life.

Cane: Well, she was lucky you were there. And, uh, victor is a tough guy to stand up to, so... cheers.

Nate: I felt for the guy. You know, just trying to protect his wife.

Cane: You know, that, uh, impulse to drop everything and run away, I almost did that.

Nate: Mm.

Cane: Yeah. After the car crash and before lily was sentenced, I, uh... yeah, I made the conscious decision to just say, "whatever," to the law, and just run off with my kids and lily to australia.

Nate: I mean, yeah. But... going on the run with your family, living, you know, life like fugitives... what kind of life would that have been?

Cane: But what kind of life is this without her?

Victoria: This is a wonderful gesture, billy. But we're a million miles away from that night in jamaica. We were kids then compared to now. We can't go back.

Billy: No, we can't go back. But it can be a new beginning in our story.

[ Sighs ] No crazy plot twists. No ridiculous expectations or self-fulfilling prophecies.

[ Sighs ] It can be different this time.

Victoria: How can you be so sure?

Billy: Because this time, I'm not gonna let you down. I'm more mature. I'd like to think I'm wiser. And I want to be able to give everything to you. Everything that you need. Everything that you want. I learned from my mistakes, and I want to show you every day that I can be good for you. Good to you. And worthy of being a part of your life.

Victoria: Oh, I can't, billy. Not -- not yet.

Billy: [ Sighs ] Okay. Whatever you need.

Victoria: Just... so much has happened, and everything is moving so fast. With my parents and reed.

[ Sighs ] We can't control that. Only this. So, for now, we need to go slow. Very slow.

Nikki: My husband is currently being held there. I'd like to add my name to his visitors list. Victor newman.

Next week on "the young and the restless"...

Sharon: Any idea how to pass the time?

Kyle: I love you.

Lola: I love you, too.

Nikki: I know who killed J.T.

Victor: [ Shushing ] Don't you ever repeat those words again. To no one.

Phyllis: Victor is as vile as J.T. Ever was, and deserves exactly what he gets!
