Episode #11446 ~ Abby makes a startling confession, Kyle is charmed by someone new, and tempers flare between Ashley and Billy.
Provided By Suzanne
Previously on "the young and the restless"...
Tessa: What would you be doing? Calling up the people squeezing me out for cash and trying to get them to sit down and have a little chat?
Sharon: Who's there?
[ Tessa screams ] Tessa? What's happening? Tessa?!
Rey: I'm detective rey rosales. Nicholas newman, you're under arrest.
[ Crowd gasps ]
Billy: Let me do my job. You focus on yours. Which is coming up with the next big thing. Jabot is on the upswing. It'd be good if you would just accept it. I play cards. I bet on horses. And it doesn't matter if I win or lose, I have to keep it secret from everybody 'cause they're gonna judge me, and tell me that i don't have any willpower. Which means I have to live with that guilt and shame because somebody else said that I'm an addict. No more.
Gloria: Thank you very much.
[ Knock on door ]
Billy: Come in.
Gloria: Hello.
Billy: Gloria, what can I do for you?
Gloria: Well, I was just wondering if the master of industry needed any support in his industry.
Billy: Is that code for something?
Gloria: [ Chuckles ] Yeah. Is it gonna be another late night? Do I need to order you dinner later?
Billy: If I need you to do that, I'll ask you.
[ Clears throat ] Oh, right. You probably want to leave before sunset.
Gloria: No, don't have to. I can wait you out. Then I can enjoy your fabulous cable package, which is so much better than mine at home.
Billy: Is that why I'm always having to restock my bar?
Gloria: [ Laughs ] You mean request that I restock your bar. And of course I have to do quality control, because our C.E.O. Deserves the best.
Billy: [ Sighs ] Yeah, well, unfortunately, I don't think my office will be the tv lounge much longer. The closer we get to launching jaboutiques, the more time I'll be spending in here.
Gloria: Okay. So your open-door policy won't be quite so open.
Billy: [ Sighs ] I've been scouring these books trying to find ways to cut some costs. Need some cash for the number-one project. But I think I'm getting somewhere.
Gloria: All right, I admit it. I requested my own scanner so your sacrosanct documents could be duplicated and scanned in complete privacy.
Billy: All right. You can stand down, soldier. I'm talking big-ticket items. Now that I got you here, there's a repeated payment going to a type a consulting. Does that ring a bell?
Gloria: No, but I will ponder deeply.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Billy: Ah, james. The comptroller getting back to me finally. I got to take this.
Gloria: Okay, good. Maybe he can answer some questions.
Billy: [ Sighs ] Bennie. How you doing, man? Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah, you too. Listen, I want to put some money down on these west coast games before they get started. Now, I'm loving this seattle 3-2. Put me down for a dime on that one.
Sharon: Oh, tessa! Thank god! It sounded like you were being attacked.
Tessa: I was.
Lola: Yeah. Next in line! What can I get you?
Kyle: The shredded-beef sandwich.
Lola: One pan con ropa vieja. Excellent choice.
Kyle: Any way I can get the peppers raw, not roasted? And the onions, I'd like them minced, not chopped. And while we're at it, let's switch out the swiss with cheddar.
Lola: You sure about that?
Kyle: About what?
Lola: About changing the entire order?
Kyle: I was just tweaking it a little.
Lola: Or changing it totally. Because if you left it the right way...
Kyle: "The right way"?
Lola: ...Then I promise you wouldn't be disappointed.
Kyle: And what if I am?
Lola: You won't be.
Kyle: But if I am?
Lola: Then you get your money back.
Kyle: Seriously?
Lola: No. But I'll make you one your way.
Kyle: The wrong way.
Lola: With a smile.
Kyle: You're on.
Jack: I'm gonna be gone for a while.
[ Keys jingle ]
Ashley: Today isn't mother's best day, is it?
Jack: [ Sighs ]
Ashley: I can by the look on your face that you just spent some time with her.
Jack: I am glad I moved back home. It gives me more time with mother. But I don't know what "better" looks like right now. Days like today, I -- I wonder if this is as good as we're gonna see it.
Ashley: Do you want to talk about it?
Jack: I want to talk about a lot of things, but right now, I need some air, some change of scenery.
Abby: Hey, was that uncle jack?
Ashley: Yeah, he just left. Did you need to see him?
Abby: I got a response. Off today's gc buzz episode.
Ashley: Involving jack?
Abby: You didn't see the segment?
Ashley: No. Why? Should I have?
Abby: Yeah, mariah helped me out. She posted that picture, dina's photograph from the country club, on today's episode.
Ashley: Wait, wait. She didn't tell everybody that jack is looking for his biological father?
Abby: No, it was much more vague than that. She never used uncle jack's name. But... mom, like I said, we got a response. From matt miller.
Ashley: Matt miller? You -- you mean victor's brother?
Abby: Yes.
Ashley: That is so bizarre. I haven't heard that name in ages.
Abby: Mom, he said the man in the photo is albert miller. Dad's father could be uncle jack's father, too.

Billy: No, no. That is a stupid call, ump! Are you kidding me?! You understand how much money you just cost me?
[ Knock on door ]
[ Sighs ] I don't need dinner, gloria.
Gloria: I'm just giving you an update. My research on that type a consulting was not fruitful. But I will keep searching.
Billy: All right. I appreciate that. And, um, I'm gonna stick around here, but you can -- you can go.
Gloria: No, no, no. I don't think I can do that. You see, the sun is still out and you are still here.
Billy: Yeah, and I'm the boss, and I'm telling you, you can take off.
Gloria: Fine, boss. How much you bet on that game, anyway?
Billy: What are you doing? You listening behind my door now?
Gloria: You have this big, rich, full voice. And sometimes you get really passionate about things, like private time with phyllis or a bad call from a ref. You were shouting, billy. Also, I ran into james the comptroller in the kitchen, so that call you took was definitely not from him.
Billy: [ Clears throat ] Okay, so what? I-I took a personal call on my personal cellphone about a personal matter.
Gloria: You may not recall, or even know, but I have experience with bookmaking business.
Billy: What's your point, gloria?
Gloria: I heard you. And I caught you in a little bit of a fib. That means anybody could have overheard you -- somebody who doesn't have your back like I do.
Billy: Okay. I'm sure there's a follow-up to this.
Gloria: Yeah. I didn't think you belonged in that chair when you got here. But you know something? Now that you're here, I've kind of gotten used to you. Just...watch it. Watch your back, billy.
Abby: Mariah said it came through on the gc buzz site.
Ashley: Was it a post or an e-mail? Was it public or private? Could anybody else have seen this?
Abby: It was private.
Ashley: Oh, thank god. If anybody else knew this was going on...
Abby: Then you think it could be true. I mean, would he have any reason to lie? You know him.
Ashley: Well, we lost touch ages ago. But if matt says it's albert, then...
Abby: [ Sighs ]
Ashley: Wait. You're not thinking about telling jack?
Abby: Of course I am. Mom, uncle jack has been looking for his father nonstop. And now that I have this information, I have to tell him.
Ashley: Abby, no. You can't do this. It's -- it's just -- it's just too much. You know what a horrible man your grandfather was. Now, if jack thinks that this man could be his father, and that victor's his brother? It's way too much. It could send him over the edge.
Abby: Only if it's true.
Ashley: If. Exactly. So we're gonna wait, and we're gonna find out the truth.
Abby: [ Sighs ]
Ashley: We're gonna handle this the same way we've handled this whole mess from the very beginning. We didn't run to jack when dina said that john was not his father. We ran dna tests.
Abby: Yeah, and you remember how furious uncle jack was with us.
Ashley: I don't want him spinning out because he thinks that victor's his brother, okay? We have to find out if matt miller sent this e-mail, and if he did, why.
Abby: Okay --
Ashley: I could reach out to him because of our history.
Abby: So we just sit on it until then?
Ashley: It's not fair to put jack on yet another roller-coaster ride. You know that. This is victor we're talking about.
Abby: Okay, fine. I hate keeping secrets from him, but... you'll tell me as soon as you find out any information?
Ashley: Absolutely. But until then, silence.
Tessa: Some guy came in from behind. Out of nowhere. We had a-a rush earlier, but then we cleared out. So he -- he must have waited until no one was here, and then he -- he just jumped me.
Sharon: What did he want? I mean, was this a robbery?
Tessa: He -- he didn't say anything. No warnings. No demands. And I didn't see his face. He just... started lifting me off the ground and throwing me and crushing me, as if he was trying to squeeze the life out of me. No, no. You -- you can't call the police.
Sharon: But, tessa, you were attacked. My coffeehouse was turned upside down.
Tessa: No, it wasn't about crimson lights, or anything but me. It was a warning. I have to keep my mouth shut and give them their money now.
Sharon: You said the man didn't speak.
Tessa: Yeah, he didn't have to. He made his point.
Sharon: I-I have got to call the police.
Tessa: No, please, sharon. If you do, I'll have to disappear for good. These people, they know where my sister is. They could ruin her life, and I can't have that. They just want their money, and this was their way of saying that they're not gonna wait forever for it. I don't expect you to care about me. But for crystal's sake, and mariah's, please put the phone down.
Kyle: So, is the wrong way faster?
Lola: The wrong way is always faster. How do you not know this already?
Kyle: 'Cause it's taking a while.
Lola: I'm just about ready to grill the onions.
Kyle: [ Sighs ] You know, I've never seen you here before. Your truck, I mean. I work on the top floor. My family owns that building and the company.
Lola: Don't feel bad.
Kyle: Excuse me?
Lola: That the only job you could get was from someone with your last name. I'm sure you do your best.
Kyle: Yeah. I usually don't tell people the shame runs deep.
Lola: Maybe you can be your own boss someday. Look at me. I got this job and this truck by busting my ass my whole life. If you start now, you could have your own business before your pretty hair turns gray. Order up. 12 bucks.
Kyle: [ Sighs ] Finally. Oh, wow. This is -- this is great.
Lola: You don't say.
Kyle: I mean, it's amazing, really.
Lola: Even without the raw peppers? Who knew?
Kyle: I used to go to this cuban joint in new york. Same thing every day. But this -- this is way better.
Lola: Yeah, I never heard it before. Uh, so do I get to keep parking at your building?
Kyle: Anyone else takes this spot, I'll have them towed.
Lola: What a hero. You were my last customer for the day, so...
Sharon: I'm trying to be respectful of how frightened you are for yourself and your sister. But honestly, I don't understand what happened here or why. And if the attacker didn't speak, then how do you know this is about crystal?
Tessa: Because I know.
Sharon: Tessa, I own this coffeehouse. If something happened to you here, I'm responsible. If I need more security or to hire more staff --
Tessa: No, no. He won't be back, 'cause he made his point.
[ Groans ]
Sharon: And do they know that? I mean, did you say something to the man, and did he respond in some way?
Tessa: No. You know, there's no need for security or police, okay?
Sharon: [ Gasps ] Tessa!
Tessa: What? Oh! I'm f-- I'm -- I'm fine.
Sharon: Let me see.
[ Gasps ] You're really hurt.
Billy: Gloria, I'm gonna take off for a little bit. I might be back later. But, uh, you can go home. You can hang out, enjoy the free cable. Whatever. Just keep your mitts off my alcohol, okay?
Gloria: Okay. What if we split the difference? I'll run errands, restock my own bar cart at home.
Billy: Do whatever you need to do. Listen, um... thank you. About earlier.
Gloria: I'll ride down with you.
Kyle: You so have to try the food truck downstairs. Best sandwiches ever.
Gloria: How nice.
Kyle: But she just closed up shop for the day, so...
Gloria: How lucky for you. Half-day?
Billy: Feel free to check out my time card later if you like.
Kyle: The boss can take off. But you?
Gloria: I'm more than happy to stick around and keep an eye on things.
Billy: I said she can go. And you can worry about your own assistant. If you ever get a promotion.
Sharon: Well, at least let me take you to the hospital.
Tessa: And then what? They're gonna ask what happened, and then they're gonna want to call the police, and I can't -- I can't have that.
Sharon: You're in danger.
Tessa: If he wanted to do real damage, he would have.
Sharon: What if you have internal injuries?
Tessa: I'm not going to the E.R. It's -- it's my life, sharon.
Sharon: Exactly. And anything can still happen if that man comes back.
Tessa: Please, please just leave it alone. I'm fine, okay? I-I'M... I'm gonna go wash my face.
Arturo: [ Sighs ]
Abby: Thank you for having the time to say hello to me.
Arturo: Hm.
Abby: Hello.
Arturo: Hello.
Abby: [ Giggles ]
Arturo: You sounded, uh, something on the phone. What was up with that?
Abby: Oh, "something"?
Arturo: Distracted. Family stuff. Big surprise.
Arturo: Hmm.
Abby: And then there's the whole dark horse disaster.
Arturo: Well, since you mentioned family, you should stick around. You might even meet lola.
Abby: Oh, lola. Your sister who keeps avoiding me and leaving her bras in your couch cushions.
Arturo: She's not avoiding you.
Abby: I think she is.
Arturo: Oh, she's just busy with work. You two are gonna get along great.
Abby: [ Sighs ] I hope so. 'Cause I would love to get along with at least one of your siblings. And with rey, it's just not gonna happen. Especially not after what he did to nick.
Arturo: Yeah, well, that's who he is. That's why I keep my distance. And why I insist on lola keeping hers, too.
Abby: Look, I don't expect you to apologize for rey being a jerk. That's on him, not you. But...
Arturo: But?
Abby: I just -- I really wish that you had told me he was a cop. He was making friends with everyone in my family on the sly, meanwhile moving in for the kill. And now I have to explain to the press why my brother and boss got arrested at his own launch party.
Arturo: You're right. I-I'm sorry. You know, I just didn't think about it in those terms. The whole J.T. Credit-card thing I figured was a cover-up. It never occurred to me that nick would end up in his crosshairs.
Abby: I'm not even sure that's a real answer.
Arturo: [ Sighs ]
Abby: Heh...
Arturo: Look, I know it's not news, but I-I just don't like to talk about rey.
Abby: Things are really that bad between you two? Okay, fine. I get it.
Arturo: Thank you. But, still, something -- something else is bothering you. What is it? Is it -- is it something I did?
Abby: No, I just -- I have a lot going on. Family stuff. Which, uh, I can't talk about, either. But once my mom gets some more intel, then at least I know where to go from there.
Nate: Wh-what -- what happened here?
Sharon: Um... there was just a little trouble.
Nate: Well, is the cops on their way? Is there -- [ Stammers ] Is there anything I can do?
Sharon: Yes. Yes, there is. Stay right here. We need you.
Billy: Can I buy the competition a drink? Two of those, please.
Jack: You're the one that squeeze me out of jabot. You don't get to play victim just because I went over to dark horse. It's a job. A good one.
Billy: Yeah. Things look to be going well over there.
Jack: Nothing we can't handle.
Billy: Thank you. Handle. Yeah. Just like you handled jacking up the leases on all the jaboutiques.
Jack: That was nick's doing.
Billy: Because you told him to cancel them altogether, jack.
Jack: And did he do it? No.
Billy: And we're still moving forward.
Jack: Good for you.
Billy: Of course, our profit margins will be less, which means less for the company and the family, thanks to you.
Jack: Yeah, there is that.
Billy: Yeah. Took money out of your own pocket, jack. And your son's and your sister's and your nieces. I could go on. Do you want me to go on?
Jack: I made some bad moves, billy.
Billy: [ Chuckles ] What, are you owning it now?
Jack: I was trying to prove that you were the wrong man for the job as C.E.O. That you were in over your head. But you kept rolling with the punches. Maybe I was wrong about you. I spent so much time thinking about you as C.E.O. It was wasted energy. My attention is better used elsewhere.
Billy: So, what, are you backing off now?
Jack: Looks like it.
Billy: Huh. Well, maybe you could talk to ashley. Get her to follow suit. She's got a second full-time career trying to tank me and the company. You know, I haven't exactly started on a level playing field since I took over as C.E.O. And you messing with the leases sure didn't help that cause. Although right now I'd rather not give her any more ammunition.
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Nate: She got roughed up in your place. Okay? For the sake of her care, and your liability insurance, she needs to go to a hospital.
Sharon: She won't go. And I can't force her. It's a privacy issue, and i can't get into the details. She's made her decision. Those bruises she has? How do we know what else might be happening? I mean, internally? If you don't help her, she won't get help.
Tessa: What's going on here?
Sharon: Nate is going to take a look at your injuries.
Tessa: I don't know how many times I can say that I'm fine.
Sharon: Dr. Nate will confirm that. It's either him or the hospital. Your choice.
Tessa: Looks like we're doing this.
Billy: Just to be clear, I shouldn't make too much of you backing off. It's only because you're occupied with other pursuits.
Jack: I'd stay on my toes.
Billy: That's what I thought. Actually, jack, quick question.
Jack: Quick answer.
Billy: I'm trying to free up some cash -- you know, because the leases are so expensive.
Jack: Mea culpa, yet again.
Billy: I see a reoccurring payment to a firm called type a consulting. Do you know anything about that? Did you bring them on while you were in the big chair?
Jack: Type a? No, that doesn't sound familiar. That must have been ashley's turn at the merry-go-round.
Billy: Right. Worth a shot. Thanks.
Jack: Billy. In case I wasn't clear, I wish you the best as C.E.O. Truly. I know you're busting your hump. I'm proud of you.
Billy: Thank you. Appreciate that.
Kyle: Gloria?
Gloria: Kyle.
Kyle: I found this in the elevator. Looks important.
Gloria: [ Exclaims ] Looks like scribbles.
[ Chuckles ]
Kyle: Any idea who it might belong to so I can return it?
Gloria: Well, considering the coffee stains and its condition, I would say the janitorial staff.
Kyle: Any idea what it might be?
Gloria: Garbage. Like I said.
Kyle: See, I think it might be betting odds. And you'd know, since you and your hubby used to --
Gloria: Former hubby.
Kyle: Didn't he run book out of your restaurant?
Gloria: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Kyle: I'm just saying I might want to get in on some of the action.
Gloria: [ Chuckles ] You know, kyle, gambling takes a level of mathematics that you haven't mastered yet. And I have no reason to assume that pertains to a bet.
Kyle: Right. Right. Could be someone's important notes, and they'd want them back. Thought it was garbage.
Gloria: I'm used to handling it.
Arturo: How was the take today? You just missed meeting abby.
Lola: Why didn't you keep her around any longer?
Arturo: Why didn't you shut the window to the truck earlier?
Lola: I was busy building am empire.
Arturo: Mm.
Lola: Today was my best take yet.
Arturo: You are living the dream. Let me buy you a drink.
Lola: I deserve it. Cooking is easy. But educating the public on how cuban food should be done, that's the tough part.
Arturo: No, that is your favorite part. I've seen you. You act tough. You take their money. But then you watch them as they take that first bite, and you always say a little prayer.
Lola: I don't need to pray for them to like my food. They just need to have working taste buds.
Arturo: [ Chuckles ]
Lola: Luckily, this one jabot guy was open to being educated. I'll be hitting that location again on a regular basis.
Arturo: Really? Jabot?
Lola: Yes.
Arturo: [ Inhales sharply ] Hmm. Are you sure that was the name of the building?
Lola: Yes.
Arturo: 'Cause the way I recall it, I --
Lola: Okay. You told me to go there three weeks ago. You're a genius. We're all impressed.
Arturo: You're welcome.
Lola: [ Chuckles ] Thank you. Mwah!
Arturo: Two beers?
Lola: To start.
Arturo: Lola, um...
Lola: What? Why do you sound like that?
Arturo: Rey's in town.
Lola: Since when? Why?
Arturo: On the job. Something for work. But he's gonna want to see you.
Lola: How much longer will he be here?
Arturo: [ Sighs ] I don't know. Looks like he's sticking around.
Lola: You getting me that beer?
Arturo: Be right back.
Tessa: [ Sighs ] Mmph.
Nate: Okay. [ Sighs ] From what I can tell, your contusions are the extent of your injuries. But without imagining equipment, there's only so much I can do. Okay? So if I could just go to the hospital with you --
Tessa: That's not happening.
Nate: Why would you protect the person that did this to you?
Tessa: It's not him I'm protecting.
Nate: This is an issue for the proper authorities.
Tessa: I appreciate you checking on me. But I'll survive.
Nate: No one is as tough as they think they are.
Tessa: You don't know me.
Sharon: You came in for coffee, and I -- thank you.
Nate: You and I both know she needs to go to a hospital.
Tessa: See? A real-life doctor saw me, and he wasn't worried at all.
Sharon: Well, I'm worried. Isn't that enough to make you go to the hospital? And what about mariah? You know she's gonna want you to go.
Tessa: I'm not gonna tell her, and neither are you.
Sharon: You can't be serious.
Tessa: Mariah cannot know about this. I can't have her finding out. You know mariah. She would try to fight for me and protect me, and try to fix this but this is my problem. My problem and my sister'S. I can't have her anywhere near this. So please do not tell mariah. Or nick.
Sharon: You want me to lie for you?
Tessa: No, I don't want you to lie. I just don't want you to say anything.
Sharon: That's the same thing.
Tessa: Because sometimes it's the only way we can protect the people we love. Come on, sharon. You have a lot of people in your life that you care about. You must know, sometimes staying quiet is the only way to keep them safe.
Billy: I know, I know. Careless C.E.O., Misplacing files.
Ashley: I didn't say anything.
Billy: Thank you for that. While I got you here, I wanted to run a couple things by you.
Ashley: Sure.
Billy: I know that we're getting ready for the holidays, but the next season after that is awards season. I think it'd be a good idea for jabot to get into all the swag bags. What do you think?
Ashley: I think it's a great idea. We could have kyle spearhead the whole thing.
Billy: Yeah. Great idea. Give him something other to do than side-eye me. Guy's got two speeds -- sucking up and naked loathing. Ah! Perfect. One other thing. Type a consulting. You heard of them?
Ashley: Why do you ask?
Billy: I was just going over the budgets. Accounts payable. Didn't recognize the name.
Ashley: Hm. You slashed my r&d budget, remember, so I was forced to farm out research to an outside firm. I covered the expenses through the funds of my discretionary budget, though.
Billy: Oh. That makes sense. They good?
Ashley: Yeah, quite good.
Billy: Okay, good. Well, as long as you trust them.
Ashley: Mm-hmm.
Billy: Okay. I, uh -- I'm gonna head back to the office. I'll, uh, catch up with you tomorrow.
Ashley: Okay.
Jack: Abby! You were on my list of people to call.
Abby: What's going on?
Jack: Well, I'd like to get an update from you.
Abby: Uh, about what?
Jack: Nick's arrest at the launch party.
Abby: Right. Yeah. Um... well, nick is out already. No charges were filed, so it was spinnable. In fact, it gives him some street cred. Our company is called dark horse, and the founder is walking the walk. It's edgy.
Jack: Sounds risky.
Abby: That's what it's all about. I mean, the media requests have been endless. And there's no such thing as bad publicity. Everybody loves a bad boy.
Jack: Wow. You really are on top of this, aren't you?
Abby: It's under control, and working to our advantage.
Jack: Excellent. Uh, change of subject. Anything from mariah? The segment on her show? Anyone call in recognizing the man in dina's photo?
Abby: Uh, nothing yet. No.
Jack: Really? Not even any crank calls looking for attention or a payout?
Abby: Look, I know that you were hoping, and so was I. I'm -- I'm really sorry, uncle jack.
Jack: You know, maybe someone will see the clip online. Not everyone watches live, right?
Abby: Uncle jack, uh --
Jack: [ Shushes ] Thank you. I appreciate everything you've done.
Abby: Well, I, uh -- I didn't do anything --
Jack: You know what? You tried. You're always thinking ahead, always on top of it. Never giving up. I appreciate that. I know there are a lot of people out there thinking I should just walk away from this thing. Give it up already. But not you. And I do appreciate that.
Abby: I just wish things were different.
Jack: Yeah, so do I. You know, I'm gonna -- I'm gonna take a little walk before I head home.
Sharon: I'm sure no one will mind if we close up early.
Tessa: I can stay if you want.
Sharon: I think we should both head out.
Tessa: Cool, 'cause I need a shower and a nap.
Sharon: Before we go, um, I asked a lot of questions earlier about what happened. Before I saw your bruises.
Tessa: You thought I made it up.
Sharon: I didn't know what to think. I heard the struggle on the phone, but when I got here and you wouldn't let me call the police... but those bruises are very real. And to have gone through something like that and then be treated like it didn't happen, I -- I'm sorry if I added more pain to your day.
Tessa: I'm a liar. Or, at least, I've lied before, so now people expect it. And that's my own fault. But all I want is to protect crystal. I have a life here. I have mariah. A job. Somewhere to come back to. Crystal has nothing and no one except for me.
Sharon: That's not true. That doesn't have to be your weight to carry. I have always wanted to help crystal. Back when she was just a voice on the crisis line. She deserves better, and she deserves to feel safe. One thing we can do tomorrow is check the security-camera tapes and see if we can identify your attacker.
Tessa: That's not possible.
Sharon: Even if you didn't see his face, the cameras probably did.
Tessa: I checked the tapes before you got here. His face wasn't visible, so I erased the tapes.
Sharon: Tessa, those tapes are not yours to erase. Why would you do that?
Tessa: For the same reason I do everything. I can't let anything happen to crystal. Ever.
Ashley: Andrew. It's ashley. Yeah, I know you weren't expecting to hear from me quite yet, but... well, billy noticed that type a was listed as a line item in my department's budget. We both have to be way more careful. If anybody asks you -- exactly. You're doing some outside r&d consulting for me. That's all you have to say. Nothing more.
[ Cellphone chimes ]
Billy: Oh, son of a -- are you ki--
[ Sighs ]
[ Sighs ] Okay. Okay. Okay, okay. Uh... hey. It's billy. Uh, listen, I need you to cash in my position on some of those stocks we were talking about. Something came up, and I need to handle it. Yeah, well, you're not my mother, you're my broker, okay? What can I say? It happens on occasion. No, I don't plan on it happening again any time soon. I've got a handle on it. Just take care of this for me, will you?
Abby: Oh, uncle jack. Wait. You -- you can't go.
Jack: What? Oh, honey, if this is about earlier, I'm sorry I got so emotional. The last thing in the world I want to do is make you feel like you have to help me in this fool's errand.
Abby: No, uncle, jack, I -- I want to help. It's no pressure at all. It's your life, and you deserve to know.
Jack: Know what?
Abby: Look, I wasn't supposed to say anything. Not -- not without -- [ Sighs ] It just -- it felt too much like the last time, when I was interviewing dina, and -- and i didn't say anything, and everything came out --
Jack: Abby, do you have some news that you haven't shared with me?
Abby: Gc buzz got an e-mail after the segment. From matt miller.
Jack: Ma-- matt miller as in --
Abby: Yeah. My uncle and my dad's brother, yeah.
Jack: But, wait, I-it could be another matt miller. I mean, that's a very common name.
Abby: He said the man in the photo with dina... he said that it was his father, and -- and my dad's father, albert miller.
[ Sighs ] I-I didn't want to say anything until I could verify it, but...
Abby: Uncle jack, I-if albert miller is the one that dina had an affair with --
Jack: Don't say it. Don't even say the words.
Next week on "the young and the restless"...
Andrew: I never thought we'd actually be having this conversation. Our little arrangement has worked out so well and all, up until now.
Lola: Are you gonna ask me out or what?
Phyllis: This budget issue, does it have anything to do with jabot, or is it really about your gambling?
Victor: So, I understand that you are prying into my family business.
Jack: I'm interested in my family tree, not yours.
Victor: Cut the crap, will you?
