Episode #11423 ~ Victor romances Nikki, Victoria is on the defensive, and Kyle and Summer uncover damaging evidence.

Previously on "the young and the restless"...
Lily: No one can stop the judge from sentencing me.
Cane: That's why we can't go back to the courthouse. I bought five tickets to sydney. We're leaving tonight.
Summer: A girl can tell when a guy wants it. And trust me, billy wants it. I bet that I can get billy into bed by the end of the month.
Kyle: There was a guy here, upstairs. I saw his clothes on the floor when I was talking to phyllis.
Summer: Wait. No, no. Kyle, when?
Kyle: I don't know. The other night. She was broken up with billy.
Sharon: All couples living together have tension.
Summer: Yeah, not you and my dad. Not like that.
Sharon: Oh, really? Just a few weeks ago, we almost called off the wedding.
Victor: I have hired the doctor to take care of both of our medical needs. I'll let you both get acquainted. And hold nothing back.
Nikki: So, what would you like to drink?
Victoria: A double of anything. I'm sorry, but sharon's party was really --
Nikki: Believe me, I understand.
Victoria: Not that alcohol is the answer.
Nikki: Honey, this is one of those days I wish I could order a stiff drink.
Victoria: I can't remember the last time I had such a miserable time. Oh, no, wait. Yes, I can. Sharon's last girls' night.
Nikki: Yeah. You'd think she would have learned her lesson from that night.
Victoria: Any time the four of us are together, it just brings it all back. Piles on the guilt. And it just feels like I'm suffocating sometimes.
Nikki: You have nothing to feel guilty about, not after what J.T. Put you through.
Victoria: Still, mom. I never wanted it to happen.
Nikki: Honey, none of us did. But we have to find a way to live with it.
Victoria: How do I do that?
Nikki: Well, we can start with that drink.
[ Clears throat ] Vodka?
Victoria: No, no, no. I'll just take a club soda. Thank you.
Nate: Victoria?
Victoria: Yes?
Nate: It's nate. Hastings. Dr. Hastings.
Victoria: Oh, yes. Olivia's son. Yeah.
Nate: Yes.
Victoria: It's been a while. I didn't know you were back in town.
Nate: Yeah, I have been keeping a low profile. Staying close to home. And I haven't really seen much of genoa city, you know? Maybe you could show me around sometime.
Victoria: Uh, between work and my kids, I really don't have time. I'm sorry.
Nate: It's, uh --
Nikki: Well, I see you're catching up with my new doctor.
Victoria: Nate is your --
Nikki: Yes. He is my new private physician.
Summer: [ Sighs ]
Kyle: Summer. Want to join me?
Summer: I would love to. Where's ashley?
Kyle: Home? Off sky-diving? How would I know?
Summer: I don't know. I just hardly see one of you without the other these days. It's like you're an exclusive club of two.
Kyle: Ever think we just didn't want to hang out with you?
Summer: No.
Kyle: Might want to file it in your brain as a possibility.
Summer: Okay. You and ashley just wanted to get rid of me earlier so you could go back to having your private conversation.
Kyle: Mm. If you're worried we were talking about you, don't be. We have way more interesting things to discuss, like migration patterns or some--
Summer: Billy? And the plot you're hatching behind his back?
Kyle: "Plot we're hatching"?
Summer: I know you guys are up to something.
Kyle: Whatever ashley and I are doing, it isn't even in the same category as you trying to get your mom's boyfriend into bed.
Cane: Hey, hey. Will you just slow down?
Lily: Slow down? Really? I feel like my head is gonna explode.
Cane: Okay. We're alone now. So breathe. Take a breath, okay, and we can talk about this.
Lily: Wait, so you want to leave the country forever? You, me, and the kids?
Cane: I know it sounds crazy.
Lily: It is crazy!
Cane: Well, I had to do something to keep you from going to prison, baby.
Lily: I cannot believe that we're having this conversation. Have you lost your mind?
Cane: I was desperate for a solution.
Lily: This is not a solution. This is a disaster in the making. You should have come to me before you bought tickets to australia.
Cane: I had to move quickly, okay? Which is why we have to do this before sentencing. I'm just glad the judge hasn't taken away your passport.
Lily: If the judge finds out about this, he won't wait to lock me up.
Cane: Which is why we have to go now.
Lily: Oh, my god.
Cane: All right, look. I should have told you what i was planning, okay, I just got caught up in the details. But if you'll listen to me now, I can tell you why this is the best thing for our family.
Lily: How is not facing the consequences of your actions the best option?
Cane: If I thought you were gonna be treated fairly, I would agree with you.
Lily: You think it's fair that devon lost hilary and the baby?
Cane: That was an accident, and you shouldn't be punished for it, and neither should I. Look, come here. I know what I'm doing is crazy, all right. I know it's illegal. But sometimes you've just got to forget about that, and you've just got to put your family first.

Nikki: Nate has been overseeing your father's recovery. And when I had that recent M.S. Flare-up, he asked nate if he could take me on as a patient, as well.
Victoria: Do you really think that's necessary?
Nikki: Well, I did think it was a little excessive at first, but nate has been so wonderful. I mean, he's discreet, he is extremely knowledgeable, very professional. In fact, just knowing that i have him on-call 24/7 has reduced my stress already.
Nate: Well, that's because boutique doctors are able to have a more intimate relationship with their patients.
Victoria: Traumatic brain injuries? M.S.?
Nate: I recommended your mother keep her neurologist to treat the M.S. I'll be focusing more on her overall care.
Victoria: And what does that entail?
Nate: Managing her stress, for one thing. It's a common contributor to the flare-ups. And nikki's been having a lot more of those than usual lately. I want to find out why.
Victoria: What are your thoughts?
Nate: Well, she's got a new job. That's something to consider. But there could be other factors. The more time I spend with nikki, the more likely I am to figure out what they are.
Victoria: Well, don't you think that pressing her might cause a little more stress?
Nate: I'm aware of that, as well.
Nikki: Darling, I think that dr. Hastings has my best interests at heart.
Victoria: As long as he remembers that your neurologist is the expert.
Nate: I have a feeling you're not going to let me forget.
[ Scoffs ] Good evening, ladies.
Nikki: Hmm. You were a little hard on him.
Victoria: I'm sure his ego can handle it just fine.
Nikki: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, he is a bit full of himself, isn't he? But I suppose he's earned it.
Victoria: Mom. He was talking about getting to the root of your stress. And we both know what that is. If he's half as smart as he thinks he is, he might just figure it out.
Mattie: You better have a good reason for dragging me away from family dinner. Who knows how many more of those we're gonna have.
Charlie: That's exactly why i wanted to talk to you. Okay? It's messed up that mom could go to prison for 20 years. We haven't even been alive that long.
Mattie: I know. You're right. It's crazy. But this is not about us, charlie.
Charlie: You think I don't know that?
Mattie: Look, all I'm saying is that a lot could happen between now and the sentencing. Michael might be able to come up with some sort of plea deal or something.
Charlie: Or he might not.
Mattie: All we can do is let mom know that we love and support her.
Charlie: That's not enough. Okay? We have to get the judge to see that mom doesn't deserve to be punished.
Mattie: He's not gonna listen to us.
Charlie: He might listen to uncle devon.
Mattie: Even if he does, uncle devon wants mom punished.
Charlie: Well, we have to get him to see that he's wrong.
Lily: If anyone even found out that you were thinking about this, I would go to jail. You would go to prison just for buying the plane tickets.
Cane: We'll be long gone. They're not gonna find us.
Lily: Everything leaves a digital trail. Every credit card you use, every website you click on is tracked. There's cameras everywhere!
Cane: All right, listen, you're getting carried away.
Lily: Ask charlie. He's the computer expert. Did you even think about our kids when you made these plans?
Cane: Of course I did. That's why I'm doing this. I'm doing this for them.
Lily: They could be without a mother or a father.
Cane: It's not gonna happen.
Lily: Why, because we're gonna be on some remote island, cut off from the rest of the world?
Cane: Well, that's better than going to prison, isn't it?
Lily: [ Scoffs ] I cannot believe that you're even saying this. Is this who you are? Are you someone who teaches their kids to run away from their responsibilities?
Cane: No, I'm someone who will do whatever it takes to protect their family. That's who I am.
Lily: Including breaking the law?
Cane: Yeah. Yeah, okay? If you have to do that, sometimes that's what you have to do. Look, I called my father, all right, and everything's been sorted out.
Lily: Wait, I-I'm sorry. Your dad? Colin? That's who suggested this?
Cane: Yes. Look, I know how you feel about him.
Lily: Yeah, he's a criminal. So your basing your decision off the advice of a criminal?
Kyle: Taking the night off from home-wrecking? Or have you given up on your plans for billy?
Summer: Starting to show.
Kyle: What?
Summer: How worried you are.
Kyle: Yeah. Don't think so.
Summer: Oh, please. I can see it. The thought of losing this bet is killing you.
Kyle: That's funny coming from someone who set herself up to win either way.
Summer: [ Laughs ] Okay, you think that sleeping with you is a win?
Kyle: You said you wanted meaningless sex. Who better to give it to you?
Mariah: Nope.
Kyle: Mariah!
Mariah: Crap. Hi, guys. Hi.
Kyle: Hi. Summer and I were just having coffee and trying not to kill each other.
Mariah: Don't stop on my account, please.
Summer: Oh, goodie. Sarcasm in a bad wardrobe.
Mariah: I wasn't kidding.
Kyle: Come on. I love a good threesome.
Summer: Yeah, just throw in a guitar, and I'm sure that this one will work for mariah.
Mariah: One more word about tessa, and I swear --
Summer: Oh, how sweet. Defending your true love.
Mariah: At least I have one.
Kyle: Time out. I left my referee uniform at home today.
Summer: I'm sorry, she just makes it so easy.
Kyle: Come on. I'm sure we can find something to talk about that doesn't make you want to scratch each other's eyes out.
Mariah: Fine. But only because it'll keep my mind off of other things.
Kyle: So. Summer was telling me you were both at a party earlier.
Mariah: Yes. We were. And I'm sure she put her own spin on it.
Summer: Cheap wine. Tacky dresses. And a whole lot of delusional women convincing themselves that dad and sharon actually have a shot at happiness.
Mariah: It's a real thing, you know.
Summer: Oh, yeah. No. Free drinks. Great pair of shoes. English sports car. Those things can bring you real happiness. But sharon will never bring dad anything than a whole lot of unhappy.
Mariah: Nick said you were on board with this.
Summer: Yeah, I was. Until you told me that dad had barely put the ring on sharon's finger before they broke up.
Mariah: And then they got back together. What, you've never had a fight with a boyfriend before?
Summer: I have. I just -- I didn't marry him.
Mariah: Lucky him.
Kyle: Maybe this wasn't such a good idea.
Summer: No, you know, I think it's good that we get real.
Mariah: Yeah, because you've never done that before in your life -- like, ever.
Summer: Okay, mariah, you can call me snowflake all you want, but you're the one with your head in the clouds. You may have found your happy ending, but it doesn't mean it's gonna happen for everybody else.
Mariah: And just because you didn't, doesn't mean that I can'T.
Nikki: Having nate as part of my medical team is a good thing.
Victoria: But what can he do that your primary doctor can't?
Nikki: Well, he's already looking into alternative treatments -- other options to relieve my stress.
Victoria: That is what concerns me.
Nikki: Honey, any doctor that I consult with about my M.S. Is going to want to find out the source of my flare-ups.
Victoria: None of them are out to prove how smart they are.
Nikki: Well, it's not like I'm gonna say anything to him about J.T.
Victoria: If you hold back, it's just gonna make him more determined.
Nikki: I can handle dr. Hastings.
Victoria: There's something about him that I don't trust.
Nikki: All right. I haven't wanted to burden you with what I've been going through, but what I did to J.T. Has really taken a toll on me. Trying to keep it a secret makes it even worse. But ever since your father hired nate, I-I don't know if it's his confidence or the new medications he's prescribed, but I feel better. I am more relaxed. I'm less stressed.
Victoria: I'm sorry. I'm being selfish. I'm sure I'm -- [ Scoffs ] I'm overreacting.
Victor: Well, now, am i interrupting?
Victoria: Hi. No.
Victor: Hi, sweetheart.
Victoria: Of course not. Mwah!
Victor: So. Looks like you were discussing something important.
Victoria: We were. Mom's health.
Victor: Oh.
Nikki: Well, we ran into dr. Hastings, and I was just telling victoria that having him as part of my medical team is a good thing.
Victor: Yes. Why would you doubt that?
Victoria: And, with the summer classes that he's been taking, reed is on track to graduate early.
Victor: Are you serious?
Victoria: Mm-hmm. He's even started applying to colleges. And berkeley school of music has shown some interest. It's very exciting.
Victor: Excellent school of music.
Victoria: Mm-hmm.
Victor: That is very good. That's impressive. Proud of our grandson. If he had let what happened with J.T. Affect him, bring him down... but he didn'T. He's a newman. I'm proud of him.
Victoria: Yes. Me too. And, in this case, it truly did take a village. I want to thank you both for everything that you've done to help reed.
Victor: Sweetheart, I'll do anything to help my family, okay? And now I'm gonna take your mother away from you.
Nikki: Well, I was just going to ask victoria to join us for dinner.
Victor: I would love to have dinner with victoria -- and all of us, of course. But tonight is just for the two of us.
Victoria: Ohh! Okay. That's good. You -- you kids have fun. I'll see you later.
Nikki: [ Laughs ] Bye, sweetheart.
Victoria: Bye, mom. I love you.
Nikki: Love you.
Victoria: Bye, dad.
Victor: Bye, sweetheart. Okay.
Nikki: Well, this is all very mysterious.
Victor: Well...
Nikki: Where are you taking me?
Victor: Nowhere. In fact, when I heard that you were up here, I was afraid you were gonna spoil my surprise.
Nikki: A surprise? What's going on?
Victor: Nothing. Nothing at all. I just thought, you know, since you have been warning me that I should take it easy, and since both of us have been under stress, that I would heed your advice.
Nikki: Wow. That's a switch.
Victor: Isn't it? So... come with me.
Nikki: Okay.
Victor: Come on. You close your eyes, okay?
Nikki: What?
Victor: Yes. Just close your eyes.
Nikki: Are you kidding me? Ugh!
Victor: No, no, no.
Nikki: All right. They're closed.
Victor: I want you to just -- here we go. Watch your step, now.
Nikki: Victor, how can I watch my step? My eyes are closed!
Victor: I know. I know. Come here. Come here.
Nikki: Go forward?
Victor: Yes, go forward. Go forward. Go on.
Nikki: Oh, my gosh.
Victor: Go on, go on, go on, go on. Just trust me, okay? Now, you open your eyes.
Nikki: Oh, my go-- oh, victor!
Summer: One successful hookup and you are the expert on love and happiness.
Kyle: [ Sighs ]
Mariah: So, if you're so convinced that this marriage is doomed to fail, why did you agree to be a bridesmaid?
Summer: Because my dad asked me. And even though you think that there is a hole where my heart should be, I love him. And I'm gonna be there for him at the wedding when sharon pulls a sharon.
Mariah: Your loyalty is touching. Do you even believe that it's possible for two people to love each other anymore?
Summer: Oh, my go-- do you even hear yourself? It's like you've turned into a bad version of "love story." Okay, I personally like the old, snarky mariah better.
Kyle: Play nice, summer.
Summer: [ Sighs ] Fine. Just have your stupid, romantic fantasy filled with hearts and flowers and all that crap. I just want to have a good time. No strings. No romance. Just fun.
Mariah: I didn't ask what you wanted. I asked what you believed in.
Summer: I just want to win a bet.
Mattie: I don't know. Talking to uncle devon seems like a big mistake.
Charlie: He's the only one that can convince the judge not to send mom to prison.
Mattie: Yeah, or we could make him angrier than he already is.
Charlie: He's not mad at us.
Mattie: He's mad at the world. And I get it. He lost everything, charlie.
Charlie: Yeah, but mom didn't mean to --
Mattie: It doesn't matter. Hilary and the baby are gone. Mom's responsible.
Charlie: So, what? We just do nothing?
Mattie: Mom came forward and confessed. Michael will explain to the judge that she's a good person who made a bad mistake.
Charlie: That's not good enough. Okay? I-I have to at least try with uncle devon.
Mattie: I think it's a mistake.
Charlie: Fine. I'll go on my own.
Mattie: Charlie, wait.
Charlie: Don't try to stop me.
Mattie: We're twins. We stick together no matter what. Even if we don't agree.
Cane: Listen.
Lily: I can't stay here.
Cane: I know you're upset. Come here.
Lily: Upset? I'm furious.
Cane: Don't walk out. Just stay and talk to me, please.
Lily: Really? Now you want to talk?
Cane: I went about this the wrong way, okay?
Lily: You know, from day one, you knew that I was responsible for the accident, and you didn't tell me. And then you tell charlie to stay quiet. Our son, who we're trying to teach to be a decent, honest human being --
Cane: Which he is.
Lily: How can he be when you're telling him to lie? Look at the consequences of your actions. Devon hates me. He wants to help send me to prison.
Cane: Yeah, 'cause he's hurt and he's angry.
Lily: Can you blame him? He thinks I wasn't gonna come forward. The police think that. The judge probably will, too. And now you want to make a bad situation catastrophic. Please tell me how you think this is a good idea.
Cane: I can't lose you.
Lily: This is not about you.
Cane: I know it's not about me. I know this.
Lily: Hilary is dead. Her and the baby are gone, and all you can think about is you and your family.
Cane: No, no, no. Our family.
Lily: Our family needs to face the consequences of my actions, okay, not run away.
Cane: Hey --
Lily: Just leave me alone.
[ Door slams ]
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Kyle: Do me a favor. Lay off mariah. Especially about tessa.
Summer: That's hilarious.
Kyle: I'm serious. She really cares about her.
Summer: No, I'm talking about the fact that you think you have to look out for your new bff.
Kyle: I just don't want to see you get your butt kicked.
Summer: [ Scoffs ] Okay.
Kyle: Just go easy, okay?
Summer: Fine. [ Sighs ] But only because you asked.
Kyle: Good to know I can appear to your better angel.
Summer: All right, well, just don't let anyone at work see this softer, gentler you. They'll think you're weak.
Kyle: Then they won't see me coming. I'll just step right over them on my way to the top.
Summer: Including me?
Kyle: You're all-in with billy. Not my fault you hitched your wagon to the wrong star.
Summer: Okay. And ashley's the right one?
Kyle: I'm going to go with whoever's gonna get me what I want.
Summer: Which is?
Kyle: What everyone wants.
Summer: Money? Power? Fame?
Victoria: [ Sighs ] Hi. Uh, rum would be really nice. But I'll just take a glass of red. Thanks. Thanks.
Victoria: Hey.
Lily: Hi.
Victoria: Are you here by yourself?
Lily: Uh... kind of.
Victoria: Uh, what?
Lily: Um, yeah. I... I'm -- I'm by myself right now. Yes.
Victoria: Oh. Um... well, can I get you a drink?
Lily: I -- I would love one, but I think I'm gonna hold off for now. What about you? Are you meeting anyone?
Victoria: No, no. Just, um... just me. Hm.
Lily: Rough day?
Victoria: Uh, an interesting day. I spent it at my ex-sister-in-law's house picking out bridesmaid dresses so that she can once again become my current sister-in-law.
Lily: [ Chuckles ] Yeah. That sounds interesting, in an awkward kind of way.
Victoria: Well, that's probably the best way to describe it.
Lily: Can I get you a drink? Maybe something stronger than wine?
[Cellphone chimes]
Victoria: Heh. Sorry.
Lily: It's okay.
Victoria: Oh. Well, I-I would take you up on that, but I'm not sure I even want this wine anymore. I have a work emergency.
Lily: Everything okay?
Victoria: Yeah. Nothing a little coffee in my system won't fix. I have to take off, but, feel free to help yourself to my wine. It hasn't been touched.
Lily: Oh, I appreciate that, but I think some fresh air might help me.
Victoria: All right. Well, um... I'm gonna head out.
Lily: Okay. Good night.
Victoria: Good night.
[ Doorbell rings ]
Mattie: He's still not answering any of my texts.
Charlie: Damn it! Where is he?
[ Elevator bell dings ] Nate.
Nate: I take you're here to see devon?
Mattie: Do you know where he is?
Nate: Why don't you come in? I haven't spoken to your uncle today, but, uh, I can give him a message.
Charlie: Yeah, tell him he's being a --
Mattie: I think this is something that we should talk to him about in person.
Nate: It's about your mom? Yeah. You guys have been going through a lot.
Charlie: Uncle devon's not helping.
Nate: He's been going through a lot, too.
Mattie: Yeah, and we know that.
Nate: But you came to ask him to cut your mom some slack? Maybe even back her up at sentencing?
Charlie: You probably think we shouldn'T.
Nate: Devon's grieving. And, listen, that's something I can relate to, guy.
Mattie: And we're all so sorry for what happened, and that's part of what we want to say to him.
Nate: And I hope he listens to you. About everything.
Mattie: Do you think he will?
Nate: A lot can change in a couple weeks. But devon is -- is still really angry.
Charlie: So no?
Nate: Look, I'm not trying to be negative. I just want to prepare you in case devon refuses to help your mother, okay? Listen, when things are out of your control, you -- you just want to fix it. Turn back the clock. Go rogue. Do whatever it takes to make things back the way that they used to be. And I've learned the hard way you can't do that. And it is frustrating. It's not fair. But that is the way it is. Certain things are just out of our hands. The only thing you can ever really control is yourself. How you act, react to what's happening around you. That comes from the inside. When you stop listening to your head, and most importantly, your heart, you stop being the person you want to be, the person that lily needs you to be, never stop fighting for justice. Or for your mom. But always stay true to you.
[ Buttons clicking ]
Kyle: [ Sighs ] Doesn't look like the party sucked as much as you claim.
Summer: Well, it'll look like a blast once I photoshop mariah and sharon out of the pictures.
Kyle: You're not gonna let up, are you?
Summer: It's bad enough that my dad is marrying sharon again, but mariah comes with the dinner.
Kyle: Are you at all embarrassed that your little sister can accept this marriage and you can't?
Summer: No, because faith is a kid, and she wasn't around for half of this revolving-door relationship that my dad and sharon just never get sick of.
Kyle: Takes some people longer than others to get it right.
Summer: Some people never do.
Kyle: Yeah. They never will if someone's trying to sabotage them.
Summer: No -- hey, I was on board with this whole marriage thing.
Kyle: What changed your mind?
Summer: Annoying and annoyinger. Sharon and mariah both told me that the happy couple broke up again just a couple of weeks ago.
Kyle: So they had a little fight.
Summer: No, it was obviously big enough for sharon to think about ending the engagement. My dad was so pissed when he found out that he wound up spending the night somewhere else. And, yes -- yes, they wound up working things out, but it just goes to show you that nothing has changed.
Kyle: When was this?
Summer: What?
Kyle: When did nick spend the night away from the house?
Nikki: Oh, that was heaven. Thank you so much.
Victor: That was very relaxing. Thank you both. My wife and I needed it. Thank you. Thank you.
Nikki: That is the most romantic thing you've done for me in a long time.
Victor: Yeah? Hmm. Just the beginning.
Nikki: There's more?
Victor: Now... dinner for two in the dining room. I had the chef prepare all of your favorites.
Nikki: Oh, victor. You've gone to so much trouble. What's the occasion?
Victor: [ Sighs ] No occasion. It's tuesday.
Nikki: [ Laughs ]
Victor: And I love you.
Nikki: Well, I don't know if I can handle being this spoiled.
Victor: Well, sweetheart, it's not about spoiling you, okay? You've been under a lot of pressure lately. And this is a way to help you relax.
Nikki: Victor, I don't want you to worry about me.
Victor: Sweetheart, what that bastard J.T. Hellstrom has done to me and victoria has obviously bothered you enormously. It bothered all of us, okay? And I promise you, I'll do everything in my power to alleviate that.
Nikki: Well, nate and the massages and dinner, they're all helping.
Victor: Mm-hmm.
Nikki: And they have reminded me that what happened with J.T. Is in the past.
Victor: How do you know it's in the past? How do you know he's not gonna come back? Hm? Don't you ever forget it -- he's out there somewhere.
Nikki: No, of course. I know. I just don't think that we should worry too much about him coming back.
Victor: Well, how do you know that he won't come back?
Nikki: I don't know. It's a gut feeling. I just don't think he'll ever show up here again.
Nate: Victoria.
Victoria: Sorry, I'm in a hurry.
Nate: I know. I was hoping you could spare a few minutes. Please?
Victoria: Is this, uh, about my parents?
Nate: No. I want to talk about you.
Victor: To your health and continuing improvement.
Nikki: To yours, as well. I can see that you're getting stronger every day, and I pray that continues.
Victor: Well.
Victor: Where'd you go?
Nikki: Just thinking.
Victor: Sad thoughts?
Nikki: No. Wishful ones. Sometimes I wish I could put a magic...something around the people that I love to keep them safe and protected.
Victor: Uh-oh, now you're gonna sound like me.
Nikki: Well, it's magical thinking. We can't keep the bad stuff out, as much as we want to. Boy, do I want to.
Victor: That's why I hired this dr. Hastings. To deal with your anxiety.
Nikki: And he is.
Victor: Yes.
Nikki: He's an excellent doctor. I have a lot of faith in him.
Victor: Glad you think that.
Nikki: And I can already see what he's done for you.
Victor: He may have had a little to do with that. Come here. But you know the most important thing that has made me feel better... is your love.
Nikki: I feel the same way. When I'm with you, everything is better.
Victoria: I'm sorry if I was rude earlier. I've been traveling, and I am a little more tired than usual.
Nate: You sure that's all it is?
Victoria: Well, not that it's any of your business, but I am worried about my mother.
Nate: Her health?
Victoria: Well, her care. I want to make sure that she's getting the best.
Nate: You don't think I can provide that.
Victoria: Honestly, I'm not sure.
Nate: That's fair.
Victoria: I don't mean to be insulting.
Nate: No, it's -- it's okay. I'm confident in my abilities. And when it comes to your mother's healthcare, the only opinion that matters is nikki'S. Besides, you have enough to worry about.
Victoria: What does that mean?
Nate: Well, it's obvious you're carrying a lot of emotional baggage.
Victoria: [ Scoffs ] You've been talking to me for two minutes. Well, how do you know that?
Nate: Like I said -- I'm good.
Victoria: Maybe not as good as you think.
Nate: Let me off you some free advice. Don't hold things in. You do, it can cause all sorts of emotional and physical damage. You have to let it out, whatever it is.
Victoria: Well, maybe you're not as smart as you think you are, either.
Nate: Just trying to help.
Victoria: Mm-hmm. Sticking your nose where it doesn't belong never helps.
Cane: Hey.
Lily: Hey.
Cane: I've been looking for you everywhere. I thought you may have gone home.
Lily: I just needed some time. I still do.
Cane: Look, um, I know you're upset --
Lily: Cane, I can't do this right now, okay?
Cane: I'm not trying to convince you that my plan was a good idea, or change your mind. I just want to apologize. I'm sorry. Okay? I'm sorry.
Charlie: Here you guys are.
Mattie: Why aren't you still downstairs?
Cane: Um... we just came up for some fresh air.
Lily: I thought we were meeting you guys at home.
Mattie: Yeah, when you weren't there, we decided to come back here.
Lily: Is everything okay? 'Cause you guys took off pretty quickly. You didn't say where you were going.
Mattie: We just needed twin time.
Charlie: We had to talk.
Lily: About everything that's happening?
Cane: Okay, look, we know this isn't easy on you guys, okay, we know this.
Charlie: Well, we just want to say that, um, you can count on us. Both of you. And, uh, you know, we won't do anything stupid or selfish, because we know everything we say or do, it affects all of us.
Mattie: What charlie's trying to say is, if we stick together, we can deal with whatever happens.
Cane: You know, it's not easy, feeling powerless and out of control. It makes you desperate, and that leads to bad decisions. But, yeah, like mattie said, if we stick together, we can overcome anything. 'Cause we are strong, and we are good. 'Cause that's who we are. Okay? Okay? We just can't forget that. All right, baby? Okay?
Summer: How am I supposed to know when my dad and sharon got in that stupid fight? They have so many.
Kyle: But this one was recently. And it must have been big enough for nick not to come home all night.
Summer: I don't know. I try not to keep track of all the times that sharon's made my dad miserable. It keeps me from wanting to kill her.
Kyle: Just see what you can figure out.
Summer: Okay. Um... I don't know. It was around the time that we found out that my dad was posing as J.T. I still don't get why this is so important to you.
Kyle: Are you really not getting this? Nick spent the night somewhere other than sharon'S.
Summer: Yeah. So?
[ Gasps ] Okay.
Kyle: Yeah.
Summer: Oh, my god. Okay. Um... okay. This is the day that my grandpa found out that my dad was posing as J.T. And this was the day that my dad invited us to see his new office. Bingo. That is the date that my dad went awol from sharon'S.
Kyle: And I showed up at phyllis' the next morning.
Summer: And billy was already kicked out.
Kyle: Yep. And someone else spent the night there.
Summer: Oh, my god.
Kyle: It was nick.
Summer: My mom hooked up with my dad!
