Episode #11448 ~ Victor prepares for battle; Nikki and Victoria are blindsided; Hilary keeps a secret.

Mariah: So, from now on, I guess we can call this the night that we had our first date.

Phyllis: Where is she?

Billy: Who? Summer? Summer ratted me out?

Phyllis: Oh, summer knew you were sneaking around, too?

Billy: Phyllis -- hey, hold on a second.

[ Sighs ]

Phyllis: What is this? Is this poker? You gambling?

Billy: Yes.

Nikki: We know the truth. I killed J.T. We buried his body.

Victor: Did you really think I'd let you get away with it? Let you take what's mine?

Nick: It's me. It's been me. Not J.T. I came after newman. I leaked those documents. It was me in the warehouse. It was me the whole time.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Nothing!

Nikki: Still?

Victoria: I have called him. I've sent texts.

Nikki: We should have heard something by now. Victor knew how anxious we were to hear about his meeting with J.T. Especially because he wouldn't take backup.

Victoria: J.T. Could have attacked him. He could have injured him.

Nikki: Or...god forbid...

Victoria: You know what, I-I should have never let him go alone. I should have followed him. I should have called the security team. I should have done something.

Nikki: If I were to lose your father now, I don't know what I would do.

Victor: No need to worry about that.

Nikki: Oh! Thank god!

Victoria: Dad, why didn't you call?!

Nikki: I'm just glad that you're okay.

Victor: I'm fine.

Victoria: What happened? Where's J.T.?

Victor: The man who showed up at the meeting was not J.T. Hellstrom.

Victoria: Well, then, if it wasn't J.T., Then --

Nikki: Was it paul? Because nicholas was going to call him to track you down.

Victor: Well, he wanted you to think that. To throw you off the scent. Nicholas arranged the meeting.

Nikki: What? He set up a meeting for you to see J.T.? I don't understand.

Victor: Yes. Everything bad that has happened to newman has been because of our son nicholas. He has been impersonating J.T. Hellstrom.

Nick: Look, I know it's a lot to take in. But deep down, I'm the same guy that I've always been. The who will do anything for his family.

Sharon: You know who you sound like right now? Victor -- when he's trying to rationalize his own bad behavior.

Nick: The difference is, i know what the word family means. I'm not gonna try and control everyone I love. I just want what is best for them.

Sharon: And what was best was lying to all of us and pretending to be J.T.? You could have fought this battle with your father in a hundred different ways, but you chose to use J.T. As your weapon. Why, nick? Why did you have to do that?

Nick: You feel deceived. And you're upset. I get it. What I don't get is the J.T. Part. Why you're so upset about that. It's like you're taking it personally. Something else is going on with you, sharon, and I want to know what it is.

Hilary: Devon went out of town at the last minute, so your timing is perfect. I got to go. But I will see you soon. Okay? I really look forward to it.

[ Sighs ]

[ Cellphone rings ]

Summer: Hi.

Phyllis: You're economizing, I see.

Summer: Just trying out a new color. Where you been?

Phyllis: All around town.

Summer: That's it?

Phyllis: Mm-hmm.

Summer: That's all I get? You're not gonna share?

Phyllis: Well... if you must know, I went to the coffeehouse, I went to the office, I went to the gcac, where I found billy in the middle of a high-stakes poker game.

Summer: You did?

Phyllis: I did.

Summer: Ho-- how did you track him down?

Phyllis: Never underestimate your mother.

Summer: I-I don'T.

Phyllis: But you did. I am well aware that you knew exactly what billy was up to. So I have some questions for you, okay? I want to know why you threw a poker game here. I know about that, too.

Summer: I don't know. It was harmless, mom.

Phyllis: Not for billy. He's a gambling addict. And something like this could have pushed him over the edge. So why in the hell would you do that?

Mariah: So, this night turned out way more interesting than I had originally planned.

Tessa: Oh, which was?

Mariah: Nothing. Yeah. Absolutely nothing. I had zero plans. Which, uh, sounds more lame now that I... god! Why --

[ Tessa laughs ] I don't -- I don't know. It'S...weird. We've only hung out, what, like a hundred times.

Tessa: Well, because it's not the hundredth time. It's the first. Our first real date. Which is what we decided that this was, right?

Mariah: Right.

Tessa: I mean, if you want, we can, uh, do all the typical first-date things.

Mariah: Oh. Like try not to order anything too messy.

Tessa: Or agonizing whether or not to tell the person that they have spinach in their teeth.

Mariah: Or trying not to sound too dumb.

Tessa: Or too smart.

Mariah: Or too anything.

Tessa: Pretending to like the same music.

Mariah: Pretending to like the same books. Movies.

Tessa: Ugh. Arguing over who pays the check.

Mariah: Wait. I thought you were gonna pay.

[ Laughs ]

Tessa: Oh, my god.

[ Laughs ]

Mariah: No, no. I think... I think you and I are way beyond all that.

Tessa: Yeah. We sure are. You know, it's like friendship plus. We get to take something that's good and make it even better.

Nick: What does mariah have to do with this?

Sharon: You don't see the similarities? Disguising yourself as J.T.?

Nick: I'm not finding a correlation.

Sharon: It reminds me of when mariah was gaslighting me, posing as cassie. Messing with my mind. Making me feel like I saw a ghost.

Nick: Sharon, they're not the same. Not even close.

Sharon: Well, my reaction was the same. And you saw the terror on my face, and the growing anxiety.

Nick: Sharon, there's no ghost. J.T. Is not dead.

Sharon: Well, we all thought that he was gone for good. That he could never hurt anyone ever again. And then you started messing with our minds and stirring up all of this fear that J.T. Was back in town again. You know, I've had my fair share of people screwing with my perception of what's real and what's not, and I just never thought that you would be one of them, nick.

Nick: Honestly, sharon, I never thought you would react this way.

Sharon: I'm sure you didn'T. But the fact that it never crossed your mind only makes this worse.

Victoria: Oh, I can't believe it. This is -- this is insane!

Victor: This is more than insane.

Victoria: It's just not something that nick would do. Even if he wanted to, he's not a hacker. He's not a master of disguise.

Victor: Apparently he acquired a few new skills.

Nikki: Okay, wait a minute. What about those sightings outside of town? How could nicholas have pulled them off?

Victoria: Maybe that really was J.T.

Victor: No. Nicholas took responsibility for it all. In fact, he's very proud of his deception.

Nikki: Oh, my god!

Victor: He, uh, actually gloated as he described to me how he was going to ruin my reputation. And how he was gonna bring down newman enterprises, a company that I spent a lifetime building up.

Victoria: A business that our kids are supposed to run one day.

Victor: Yes. This is his form of revenge. It's absolutely pathetic.

Victor: For him to go this far, it's completely and totally outrageous!

Victor: It's unconscionable, what he did to you, my darling. Making you think that J.T. Was out for blood.

Nikki: So are you still looking for him?

Victor: Oh, yeah. I'm not gonna rest until I find that bastard. He's gonna pay for what he did. It's not a game to me. As it obviously is to nicholas.

Nikki: Well, I'm gonna go talk to him. Listen to his side. I want to hear what he has to say.

Victoria: I'm coming with you.

Nikki: Okay.

Mariah: What's that look about?

Tessa: Do you want to, you know, like... talk about it? 'Cause it's kind of...

Mariah: Sudden.

Tessa: I mean, in a good way. But it's a big change. For both of us.

Mariah: You know, personally, I'D...kind of just like to stay in the moment. I feel like this has been a really long time coming.

[ Chuckles ]

Tessa: True.

Mariah: And the rest we'll figure out as we go.

Tessa: You know what? Let's get out of here.

Mariah: Yeah?

Tessa: Yeah. 'Cause I feel like celebrating. And coffee is, you know, just not very festive.

Mariah: All right, then. Wow. It feels like there's a neon sign over our heads that's telling the world that we're more than friends.

Tessa: Is that a problem?

Mariah: No. No, not at all. It's just... [Inhales sharply] It's real.

Tessa: That, it is.

[ Chuckles ]

Mariah: And I can't believe that this is actually happening.

Hilary: What flavor is that?

Shauna: Mint chip.

Hilary: Salted caramel -- too much homework. Lemon gelato -- family stuff. So could this be... boyfriend trouble?

Shauna: You're good.

[ Chuckles ]

Hilary: I always know when something's bothering you. So what's going on?

Shauna: Well, I was supposed to go to charlie's tonight, but I'm stuck here watching tv instead.

Hilary: And what's with the change of plans?

Shauna: [ Sighs ] Cane and lily decided to go out. Charlie's not allowed to have me over unless one of his parents is home. Lily's, like, super strict about it.

Hilary: That sounds about right.

Shauna: My folks used to have to work late a lot, and I'd have friends over all the time. They'd keep me company when I was alone. But nothing bad ever happened.

Hilary: Charlie isn't just a friend. He's a boyfriend. So I think cane and lily, they're -- they're being responsible parents.

Shauna: You had to pause before giving me that answer. Come on. Admit it. You think they're overdoing it with the hovering bit, too.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Hilary: Um... you know, I have always found lily to be pretty uptight about a lot of things.

Shauna: That's fine. I-I get it. But her kids are practically adults. She's got to let go of the reins at some point.

Hilary: Do you want to be the one to tell her that?

[ Snickers ] I didn't think so. Believe me. I have talked to lily on many occasions about loosening up.

Shauna: I'm guessing that didn't go over so well.

Hilary: Lily is high-strung. And things are just -- they're not gonna change unless she decides that she wants to chill. I'm sorry. I know that's not what you wanted to hear.

Shauna: It's fine.

Hilary: Can we talk about this a little later? I just -- I have to run out for a second.

Shauna: I didn't know you were heading back out.

Hilary: Yeah, something came up at the last minute. But I won't be late. There's food in the fridge, so...

Shauna: Self-sufficient.

Hilary: [ Laughs ] Awesome.

Summer: Okay, so, now do you see? I was just trying to have fun with my friends. That's it.

Phyllis: Because it's so much fun to take wads of cash, throw it in the toilet, and flush it?

Summer: Okay, I was never trying to hurt billy. That was the last thing on my mind.

Phyllis: If you think that is gonna give you a pass, you are so wrong. You needed to stop and consider the repercussions of your actions.

Summer: No, you're right. I don't know. I just -- at first, it seemed like billy had everything under control. You know, poker, he could take it or leave it. And, yeah, I could tell that he was enjoying the action at first, but it's not like he was under a spell or anything. And [Sighs] That is when I told him about the games at the club. But I just had no idea that he'd spiral out like this so quickly. I mean, if I had known, I-I would have never asked him to come bail me out the night that I was in way over my head. Okay? I was freaking out. I couldn't pay back what I owed because I had blown my trust fund before coming back to town, and luckily billy was able to win back enough to cover my losses. I'm -- I'm sorry.

Phyllis: You realize this is the first I've heard of any of this?

Summer: No. I thought that billy told you everything.

Phyllis: Not everything.

Summer: [ Sighs ]

Phyllis: That night that you got in trouble at the game, why did you reach out to billy? I am your mother.

Summer: I don't know. Billy's been in the same position before. And I begged him not to tell you because I didn't want you to worry. And then I realized I would have to tell you myself.

Phyllis: About blowing your trust fund. So billy was covering for you, and while he was gambling, you were covering for him. And that whole show of how you wanted to have quality time with your mother was just really so that you could distract me so he could keep on gambling. Isn't that right?

[ Door opens ]

Billy: Hey. I was hoping you'd be here.

Phyllis: Well, if you knew what was good for you, you would have stayed away.

Billy: Babe, I know you're upset --

Phyllis: Babe? Really?

Billy: Just listen, okay? Please? I wired the money that I won to the girl that i lost the boat to. It officially belongs to jabot again, like it was never lost, okay? As far as the gambling -- I'm done. Everything is okay.

Phyllis: No, it's not. Because you don't get to hit the reset button after you've done what you've done.

Billy: But as far as the company is concerned, everything --

Phyllis: How are you not grasping the fact that this is about more than just gambling? This is about your deceit. And the fact that there are so many more layers to this than I even realized. Summer told me that you covered for her financial problems. And you chose not to tell me about this.

Billy: I wanted you two to have a better relationship. And it was getting better, so I didn't want her mistake to ruin it.

Phyllis: Not your job to repair the relationship I have with summer. Just like it is not your job to try to protect billy from me. When you saw he was in trouble, you should have come to me, and you should have expressed that to me. But instead, the two of you lied to me! And you stacked lie upon lie. You are my boyfriend. You are my daughter. I need to trust both of you. With everything I've got. But you know what you did? You formed a secret alliance. And you pushed me right out of the equation. So how do you think that makes me feel? Or maybe you don't care.

[ Knock on door ]

Shauna: Hey.

Charlie: Hi. [ Chuckles ]

Shauna: I-I'm glad you could make it.

Charlie: Uh, I'm glad you texted me.

Shauna: Yeah?

Charlie: Of course. Uh, you know, I was really upset when my parents decided to change their plans.

Shauna: I know. And at the last minute, too.

Charlie: Kind of messed things up for us.

Shauna: Yeah, when you told me, I was like, "come on. We're practically adults."

Charlie: [ Laughs ] Right?

Shauna: I mean, we work hard, too. Why should they have all the fun?

Charlie: Exactly. Are, um...

Shauna: What?

Charlie: Uh, are devon and hilary upstairs?

Shauna: Devon is away, and hilary is out.

Charlie: Okay. Yeah. That's cool.

Shauna: Is it?

Charlie: Absolutely. But if you'd be more comfortable --

Shauna: Charlie, the rules are different here.

Charlie: What do you mean?

Shauna: Hilary doesn't mind if we're alone.

Charlie: You sure?

Shauna: Hilary gets it. She thinks your mom's too uptight about stuff. Which, I mean, no offense, but she kind of is.

[ Chuckles ] Anyway. You're here now. We've got the place to ourselves. We could listen to music or watch something or -- I don't know.

Charlie: I don't care what we do. You know... as long as I'm with you, I'm happy.

Shauna: That wasn't corny or anything.

[ Both laugh ]

Charlie: You know, so what if it was? It's true.

Hilary: Thank you for working around my schedule. And for agreeing to see me so late.

Marc: I didn't care what time it was.

Hilary: You just wanted to make this happen, huh? Well, I appreciate that. And your discretion.

[ Loud laughter ]

Victoria: Where is he?

Nick: Right here.

Nikki: Nicholas! Victor told us everything. How you pretended to be J.T., And all the malicious things that you did to hurt him!

Nick: I knew dad would want to put his own spin on things.

[ Nikki scoffs ] Paint me in the worst possible light.

Victoria: There is no other way to see it! There is no defense for the way that you've acted.

Nick: I did what I had to do. And I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Victoria: Well, then, you can go to hell.

Mariah: And to think, we were having such a good time. And now I can feel her eyes boring a hole into the back of my head.

Tessa: Just ignore her.

Mariah: How can i when I can practically hear all the snarky comments that are going through her head? She's staring at me right now, isn't she?

Tessa: Yep.

Mariah: What do we do? Do we...finish our drinks? Do we go somewhere else? Do we walk up and say hi?

Tessa: You know what, I think we should say hi. I mean, it's only a big deal if we make it one. Besides, I -- I thought you were happy that we were finally together.

Mariah: You're right. I am. Okay.

Tessa: Uh... [ Chuckles ]

Mariah: Ooh! Okay. Hi, there. Heh. Just wanted to come over, say hello. I didn't expect to see you here so late. You should be at home resting with the baby.

Hilary: Well, I will be doing that soon. Uh, this is, um, marc. He's an old friend. Marc, this is mariah and tessa. We all work together.

Marc: Good to meet you.

Mariah: Yeah.

Tessa: Likewise.

Mariah: Hi. Tessa and I are on a date.

[ Clears throat ]

Hilary: Well, after the way you two walked in, I figured as much. All I have to say is -- finally! It's about time that someone acknowledged the obvious.

Mariah: Wait. You -- you mean --

Hilary: Please. You'd have to be blind not to see what was going on between the two of you. But you two, go. Have fun. May I recommend the rooftop? It is still open, and it's a beautiful night.

Tessa: Just say "good night, hilary."

Mariah: Good night, hilary.

Nikki: What you did was spiteful. There is no other word.

Victoria: Oh, I can think of a few.

Nikki: Hacking into newman's server! Releasing your father's private medical records!

Victoria: Since when did you become this big of a jerk?

Sharon: It's something new. Special, isn't it?

Nikki: It is incomprehensible to me that a man as principled as you could be so -- so --

Victoria: Unfeeling.

Nick: You've got this all wrong.

Victoria: How can you say that after what you've done to me?

Nick: What I did to you? This was all about dad. Every bit of it.

Victoria: Oh, my god. You seriously don't get it, do you?

Nikki: I think it's more a matter of seeing what he wants to see.

Victoria: When you rejected dad's offer to become C.O.O., I thought I could count on you to look out for me. But instead you've been tearing me down. Look at me! I'm a wreck! I can't eat! I can't sleep! I have been consumed with fighting for newman. Fighting attack after attack! I have sacrificed my entire summer with johnny and katie! I have no peace of mind! I lay awake at night, staring at the ceiling, terrified that J.T. Is coming back, wondering what is he gonna do to me when he does? What if he breaks into the house? What if he attacks me again? And the whole time, you just -- you just sat there, watching, acting all concerned! Wondering if I suspected anything. You could see that I was beside myself, and yet you don't sound the least bit guilty!

Nick: Because I'm not.

Victoria: I remember. You were at newman the day that that first threatening message arrived from the hacker. And you listened to it with me. Not so that you could be supportive, but so that you could hide the fact that it was you!

Nick: Nobody could know what I was doing or my plan wouldn't work.

Nikki: Your plan was more important than any of us?

Nick: Mom, dad was the target. All right? Only dad. Now, if my actions caused any of you some distress, I sincerely apologize for that. But I did everything I could to reassure you. To make you feel safe. I put guards outside of all your homes. But the truth is there was never any actual threat to any of you at any time.

Sharon: But we thought that there was! Nikki has been so stressed out, worried about victoria. And you know that's not good for her M.S.

Victoria: What about the destruction of newman, hmm? That's a real thing, isn't it? But in your mind, it was, what? Just collateral damage? That company is our legacy, nick! It belongs to all of us, not just you.

Nick: Everything I did was worth it. Tell me something, vick. What would you have done if dad came after katie, johnny, or reed? What kind of lengths would you go to? Now, I know my actions may seem extreme, but I had to find some way to deal with dad, because it was very clear he was gonna do whatever it took to get full custody of christian. He didn't care what it did to that little boy, to rip him out of his home and his family. Our pain and loss meant nothing to him. And forget about adam. He didn't care what he wanted, or sage, either. All he cared about was what he wanted, and it's always been that way. But I found a way to send a message to him, loud and clear -- that he is not gonna mess with me or my life or my family ever again. And I will not apologize for putting an end to it.

Summer: Mom, of course we care about you! But you know what it's like when you've done something stupid.

Billy: And you're full of regrets.

Summer: Yes. Regret. Many regrets. And you just want to make things right.

Billy: But you can't without disappointing the person that you care about the most.

Phyllis: You cared more about covering your gambling and covering you ass than being honest with me.

Summer: Okay, please do not be so harsh with him. He has admitted that what he did was wrong, and he --

Phyllis: What are you doing?! Why are you sticking up for him? You have more than enough to apologize for yourself. Which you could start at any time, by the way!

Billy: Cool it with her. She made a mistake. And we both know that you're angry at me, right? I'm the one that made the boneheaded moves. I asked her to lie. I'm the one that kept gambling.

Phyllis: Yeah, that's right! And you should be taking the bulk of the responsibility here.

Billy: Fine!

Phyllis: Absolutely. And you know what, you have a lot of maturing to do. You know what? You are an adult! And you should know exactly how to act in a grown-up relationship! And you should have had the capacity to give me some trust and some honesty!

Billy: Oh, so this is being an adult right now?

Phyllis: Yeah! It is!

Billy: Walking away in the middle of a conversation?

Phyllis: Yep!

[ Door slams ]

Mariah: And the thing that floored me is, when I told hilary about us, she was actually nice about it. I was expecting... well, to be honest, I don't really know what I was expecting. But it certainly wasn't that.

Tessa: I mean, as much as I love to give hilary a hard time, she has her moments. Sometimes people can surprise you in the best of ways. I mean, like kyle did. Arranging for that movie. Setting us up. Giving us the push we needed. I don't want to sound mean, but I wouldn't have thought he had it in him.

[ Chuckles ]

Mariah: And now we are back where this evening began.

Tessa: Yeah.

Mariah: Under the stars. Tessa, this has been A... it's been a terrific first date.

Tessa: Although I can think of one thing that would make it even more incredible.

Mariah: Can you?

Tessa: Yeah.

Hilary: You paint a very enticing picture.

Marc: [ Sighs ] Just not enticing enough.

Hilary: I'm tempted. Believe me. But it's just timing. Okay, six months ago, I was free as a bird. You know, and if we were talking back then, it might have been a very different conversation. No. In fact, I know that it would have been. But it's just that devon and I, we have been working really hard to build something solid. And with a baby on the way, I just -- I don't want to do anything to jeopardize that.

Marc: Looks like my loss is devon's gain.

Hilary: You are very sweet for saying that. But before you ask, yes, my mind is made up. For now, anyway. Which is why [Sighs] I brought up the "d" word. Discretion. I hope that we can keep what we talked about between the two of us. Mariah and tessa, on the other hand -- [ Sighs ] Oh, god. When they came over to us

[Scoffs] I almost died a thousand deaths.

Marc: You still seem a bit rattled.

Hilary: It was close. It was too close. The last thing that we need is one of them blurting to devon that they saw us together. Luckily, they didn't seem too focused on you. I think mariah was all caught up in her "big news" that she didn't even notice I was speaking to anyone. So I think that we are safe. For now. Devon can't ask any questions. You understand that. Don't you? Devon can't find out the real reason for this meeting. No one can.

Shauna: Hey.

Charlie: Hey.

[ Laughs ] Hey.

[ Shauna laughs ] Um... I think I need to tell you something.

Shauna: Okay...

Charlie: [ Sighs ] You know, I know we haven't been together all that long or anything, but, uh... you know, I think I'm starting to fall in love with you.

Shauna: [ Exhales sharply ] I feel the same way about you.

Charlie: We better stop. Not that I want to or anything. It's just... I don't want to cross any lines.

Shauna: I don't want to stop, either.

Charlie: Are you saying...?

Shauna: But tonight isn't right. I want our first time to be special. Not rushed. Plus I have no idea when hilary's gonna come walking back through the door, so...

Charlie: Yeah. I'm not prepared right now, anyway. I need to make a run to the drug store.

Shauna: Well, devon will still be on his trip tomorrow. And hilary will be busy taping her show. If you can get away?

Charlie: Yeah. Tomorrow will be perfect.

Victoria: I can understand your rage about what dad did. And your desire to fight for your little boy with every resource that you can muster. But I just -- I can't accept your choices. You went so far out of bounds.

Sharon: Nick, I feel the same way. I-I can't even grasp what you did. The man I fell in love with would never conceive of a plan this brutal.

Nikki: You knew the toll this was taking on us. And victor. Not just his state of mind, but his health. Nicholas, your father had had a stroke, and he is still suffering the after effects of that.

None of that gave you a moment's pause?

Nick: Oh, he's had some minor setbacks. He's gonna be fine. He's very determined to get through this, and he's got the best doctors that money can buy. Although it would be wise for him to acknowledge that he's not nearly as strong as he used to be. But his inability to admit that he's human hasn't always worked in his favor.

Nikki: I can't even believe this is you talking.

Nick: Believe it.

Nikki: You are so cold. You are so calculating right now. It was not that long ago that your father was in a hospital bed fighting for his life.

Nick: Well, if you will recall, I was in that hospital room every day, praying for him to get a second chance. Well, he got that second chance. And what'd he do with it? He threw it away by going back to being that controlling, manipulative bastard he has always been. Well, this is the price he's paying. And if you're waiting for me to feel some remorse for my part in this, it ain't gonna happen.

Nikki: Do you truly believe this? I mean, you refuse to see how cruel and hideous your tactics were? If that's true, I have nothing more to say to you.

Victoria: I'm gonna make sure she's okay.

Nick: Wait. Vick, wait. There's more I need to explain. And I'm really hoping you and sharon will hear me out.

Nikki: Hi.

Victor: So? Did nicholas express any regrets?

Sharon: He feels his actions are completely justified. Which, for the life of me, I will never understand. I am as appalled as you are about what he has done, and I certainly don't excuse him anything, but... are you starting to feel regret for trying to get custody of christian?

Victor: He started all this. He threatened to take my grandson away from me. Did he not think I was going to resist? Then he impersonates J.T. Hellstrom, takes his identity, to threaten me, my company, and my family?

Nikki: So what happens next?

Victor: Well, he thinks he won. He has another thing coming.

Nick: My top priority was getting my son back. But putting dad in his place was just icing on the cake. But there was another motive for me using J.T.'S I.D.

Sharon: We're listening.

Nick: My whole life, I have been under dad's thumb. I've gone out and created my own businesses, but it was never enough. And giving away my trust wasn't the answer, either. But this time, when dad almost died, I thought that things could be different. That I could get back into my dad's life. I could rejoin this family business that means so much to me, but still maintain my independence. But my personal life stay personal. He couldn't tolerate the idea of me playing by anybody's rules but his. Just like he couldn't tolerate it if any of us did. I knew it had to stop, so I came up with this plan that would not only help me, but the entire family.

Victoria: How can you define what you did as helping anyone?

Nick: As my plan continues to unfold, it'll all make sense. You will see things my way.

Sharon: So, that's it? Just this vague "wait and see"?

Victoria: I'm sorry, but after what you pulled, I'm gonna need a lot more than that.

Nick: I'm going to reveal everything tomorrow. Hopefully then you will understand.

Summer: Okay, mom should not be treating you that way. Once she cools down, she'll realize that.

Billy: It's fine.

[ Duffel bag thuds ] What is this?

Phyllis: I won't live with a man I can't trust.

Billy: Are you serious?

Phyllis: Dead serious. You have to go. Now. Move it.

Billy: No. Who said that? No. If you're gonna overreact like this, I am more than happy to go. I have been patient with you. I have tried to get through to you. Clearly that is not happening.

Summer: Billy? Billy!
