Episode #11415 ~ Jack confides in Sharon, Hilary gives Devon some unexpected news, and Arturo comforts Abby.

Provided By Suzanne

Previously on "the young and the restless"...

Kyle: Starting a new company's risky, dad.

Jack: Not if you know what you're doing. I have decades of experience in this business.

Nick: If my dad finds out about this, he'll use that information against me. He could try and challenge my rights with christian.

Victor: You try to keep that boy from me, I will take you to court and fight for his custody.

Abby: I'm not blood. I'm competition.

Arturo: You and me, jetting off to miami tonight?

Abby: It's your call.

Charlie: Shauna, what's wrong?

Shauna: I've run away. You have to hide me.

Hilary: Everything went perfectly.

Devon: Yeah? Good.

Hilary: Mm-hmm.

Devon: How soon until we know if you're pregnant?

Hilary: A couple of weeks.

Devon: Yeah?

Hilary: I don't want to jump the gun this time.

Phyllis: Here's the thing -- billy is objectively hot. Every circumstance, every angle, okay? But this whole "master of the universe" jabot C.E.O. Thing he's got going on, I mean, it's sexy. It'S...extremely sexy.

Hilary: [ Scoffs ] Do you need to cool off?

Phyllis: No, I'm just gonna have some really good stories next girls' night. Can we do drinks this weekend?

Hilary: I would, but I can'T.

Phyllis: Okay. How about next weekend?

Hilary: That's not gonna work, either.

Phyllis: Why are you ghosting me right now? Shut. Up.

Hilary: What? What? I didn't say anything?

Phyllis: Are you?

[ Laughs ]

Hilary: Yes, yes. I am. I'm really pregnant!

Phyllis: Yes! I'm so happy for you! How did devon react?

Hilary: I haven't told him.

Phyllis: What's wrong with you? Why would you not tell him?

Hilary: Okay, it just -- it needs to be perfect. When I tell him that this is finally happening, from that day forward, our lives will never be the same.

Sharon: You look... I don't know how you look. Is it about whatever's been bothering you since last night? And I know you keep saying it's nothing...

Nick: [ Sighs ] No. It's good news. I, uh, just got off the phone with the goldberg foundation.

Sharon: Oh, they're amazing. They donate millions to charitable causes every year, mostly housing. Is this because of new hope? Is mrs. Goldberg your biggest fan now?

Nick: No, um, she offered me a job. She actually offered me her job. She's stepping down, and she thinks I'd be the perfect person to take over.

Sharon: That's a huge compliment. But I think they're based in california. Did she mention them opening an office in genoa city?

Nick: No, they're committed to san diego.

Sharon: Oh, well, that's too bad. Would have been a great opportunity for you.

Nick: Maybe it still is.

Abby: [ Giggles ] Oh, my gosh, your aunt was hilarious.

Arturo: Which one? Nevia or maritza?

Abby: Yvonne.

Arturo: Oh, my god, yvonne was on fire! I warned you about buying her shots!

Abby: I thought she was gonna start dancing on the table.

Arturo: And she only asked twice about when we'd be getting married, so...

Abby: Well, that was only when you were around. Every time she was in earshot, i kept saying "only friends."

[ Giggles ]

Arturo: What about when you get back to the office? I'm sure you'll have a few questions waiting for you.

Abby: [ Sighs ] I'm sure my dad and victoria will have something to say about it.

Arturo: But you're ready.

Abby: I am. And the next time I have a deluxe guestroom available, you will be the first person I call.

Arturo: Or maybe we'll be in touch sooner.

Abby: [ Giggles ]

Devon: Well, I think we can safely say that the hamilton-winters barbecue was a success. And, you know, since we didn't have to pay the caterers, we came in under budget.

Neil: Mm. That's nice.

Devon: Mm-hmm.

Neil: You know, hilary really stepped up for the team.

Devon: Yeah, she did. She did. She has her moments, man.

Neil: Good and bad. You know, you two seem to be getting along well. That's important for the child. That kid will always remember if mom and dad respected each other.

Devon: Oh, we do. We do. There's no issue there. But, uh, there might be a little more than respect going on.

Nikki: Hey, jack. How you holding up?

Jack: It's a gorgeous day. I saw the sunrise, in fact. From my suite upstairs.

Nikki: No. You moved out of your home?

Jack: I moved on. Everyone deserves a chance for a fresh start. This is mine. Right here, right now. And I am ready.

Nick: I mean, pretty crazy, right? The idea of me taking over a huge foundation.

Sharon: In san diego. You want to move all the way --

Nick: Moving was never part of the plan, but with this job offer...

Sharon: It sounds amazing. It does. But things were going so well for us here. Together.

Nick: Did you think I was just talking about me? Sharon, I mean all of us. You, me, faith, christian. Just imagine our kids growing up on the beach. I mean, sand instead of snow? Sounds pretty good to me.

Sharon: All of us?

Nick: Yeah. Our family.

Sharon: But this is our home. You've never mentioned wanting to leave genoa city before. It's just never been an issue.

Nick: Well, maybe that's where I've been getting it wrong. You know, I've let myself get too tied up in everything that goes along with living in genoa city. All the endless family drama. And then this opportunity comes along, out of the blue. It's a real chance for me to make a difference in people's lives.

Sharon: Just yesterday, you were going back to work at newman. Taking victoria's job. Something must have happened to make you want to leave. What has victor done now?

Hilary: I was so cocky before. I was sure that I was gonna get pregnant, and then when i thought that I was, devon and I, we were in such a bad place. I just -- I had to make my point, that's all.

Phyllis: All right, so you got on tv and you announced to the world that you were...

[ Laughs ] Pregnant with child. But you know what, I don't think that worked out so well for you, so clearly tv is not the answer this time.

Hilary: Okay, but devon and I, we are not a married couple with hearts and flowers and romance. It needs to be cute and fun, but not too romantic. Maybe someone dressed up in a stork costume showing at hamilton-winters...

Phyllis: I don't think so. I reserve my dress-up games for billy, thank you.

Hilary: Oh, okay. Forget it. Um... what about skywriting, hmm?

Phyllis: The guy who hated to hear his personal news on tv is gonna like reading about it in the sky? I don't think so. Crazy idea -- tell him.

Hilary: No. No. This needs to be special and unique, just like our baby.

Neil: So, when we talked about you and hilary being a team, you assumed that I thought you should get back together. So, is that what's happening here again?

Devon: It's not like that.

Neil: Ah. "Not like that."

Devon: No.

Neil: Help me out. What's it like?

Devon: Well, um, "platonic" isn't the word anymore.

Neil: Oh! Okay.

Devon: Yeah. But we're not a couple in the traditional sense.

Neil: [ Chuckles ]

Devon: So...

Neil: You mind breaking this down for me just a little bit? Give me simple terms here. Are you two involved or not?

Devon: Well, we're having a child together, so, by definition, we're involved, aren't we?

Neil: Yeah. Okay. Devon, I have full faith in you. I'm sure you can manage a real response.

Devon: Okay. Is there a relationship status with where we stand? It's like they say -- "it's complicated."

Shauna: This is so embarrassing. You give me a place to sleep, and I can't even buy you a coffee to say "thank you."

Charlie: Did you even sleep last night?

Shauna: I should be asking you that. You're the one who crashed out on the floor.

Charlie: Yeah, but, I mean, at least I was by the door if my parents tried to come in. Look, shauna, I'd have you stay as long as you need to, but we can't fool my parents forever.

Shauna: I know, I just -- going back to my aunt's house right now, she may have told my mom it was okay for me stay there, but it's even more dysfunctional than my regular home.

Charlie: Yeah, but you shouldn't have to be there if you don't want to.

Shauna: Yeah, but I shouldn't be kicking you out of your own bed, either.

Charlie: Extenuating circumstances. Hey, how's rehab going for your brother? You hear from your parents?

Shauna: Just a couple of texts. They have to do a lot of family therapy. You know, group meetings and stuff. That's why they moved to colorado -- to support him in his recovery. I mean, I get it. He needs to be clean. It's life or death, which I hear over and over again. I can't exactly compete with that.

Charlie: You know they love you.

Shauna: Sure. Of course. That's why they dumped me at my aunt's and took off.

Charlie: But that was so you could finish the school year out here.

Shauna: But then what? When school's out, am I on the next plane? I'm telling you right now, that's not gonna happen. I want to stay right here.

Charlie: And you will. But this is just a short-term solution.

Lily: Hey. Short-term solution for what?

Abby: Morning! I have some ideas for the new lipstick campaign, if you have a second.

Victoria: Well, I hope you enjoyed your little getaway. The next time you go out of town, I think you should let somebody know first so we can pick up the slack. In fact, I don't want you making any more moves at newman without running it past me first.

Jack: Forget starting small. I want to blow onto the health and beauty market like a hurricane. Skincare, fragrances, beauty products -- the whole thing. Fresh, new, no history, no baggage.

Nikki: No baggage? We should all be so lucky. But a company that competes against both newman and jabot -- do you think that's wise?

Jack: There's plenty of room on the playing field for a new guy.

Nikki: Well, perhaps, but going up directly against your family is...

Jack: No, no, no, I offered kyle a position with me. He decided to stick with uncle brutus at jabot. His loss.

Nikki: I'm sure billy feels that he's helping the family by stepping in --

Jack: Billy's an overgrown toddler who thinks this is all a game. You know what, I don't have to think about that. In fact, I'm not gonna waste any more time thinking about that. I have a meeting.

Nikki: Oh, is it about this new venture?

Jack: You will read about it in the business column. Wish me luck.

Nikki: Good luck.

Jack: See you later.

Devon: Hey. How's your day?

Hilary: Hi, I was just -- sorry, um, go ahead.

Devon: How you doing? You look a little dazed. Did a guest fall through on the show?

Hilary: Actually, it'S...

Jack: Devon.

Devon: Jack.

Jack: How are you?

Devon: Good, how you doing?

Jack: Hilary, always nice to see you.

Hilary: Hey. You, too. Devon, did you have a minute?

Devon: Neil and I have a meeting with jack right now. If it's about the show, can we talk about it later?

Hilary: Mm-hmm.

Devon: I'll grab neil. We'll get started, okay?

Jack: Perfect. Sorry if I interrupted. I'm about to add the crown jewel to the hamilton-winters dynasty.

Hilary: Thought I was about to do the same thing.

Lily: So? [ Chuckles ]

Charlie: Uh, so, we have to figure out rides and planning for all these post-prom events.

Shauna: One girl's having a party right after prom.

Charlie: But then someone else is doing a sunrise breakfast.

Shauna: Prom is a whole thing.

Charlie: A whole thing.

Lily: Yeah, I can see that. It seems like you guys are handling it pretty well. And you, up and out of bed before I even had the coffee machine on? I'm impressed. He doesn't just get out of bed for anybody.

Shauna: I'm honored.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Okay, well, I have to go to work, but you guys have a good day at school, okay?

Shauna: Thanks, mrs. Ashby.

Lily: You're welcome. Love you.

Charlie: Love you, too, mom. Bye.

Shauna: I can't go to school. If my aunt told my parents that I didn't come home last night, my mom will call the principal asking where I am.

Charlie: Yeah, and I can't cut, either. My mom would be on me in a heartbeat. But I have an extra free block this morning. I could hang out a little longer.

Shauna: No, don't worry about me. I'll just go sit at a mall or a park or something.

Charlie: That's not happening. I think I know someone who can help.

Nick: I can't believe vick didn't know about the C.O.O. Job. Just dad blowing smoke.

Sharon: I'm so sorry i spilled everything to victoria about your dad's offer.

Nick: Why wouldn't you? We didn't know it was a secret. We assumed vick knew because that's the way dad made it sound. It was just a classic victor newman move. He was testing me to see if i was ruthless enough to walk all over my sister's hopes and dreams. I mean, it's the way he thinks. You called it, too. I was so revved up about going back to work with him, you know, saying that he changed, and you told me that it wasn't gonna last. And it didn'T.

Sharon: Well, I hate to be right about this. I know you wanted things to be different. So you turned him down?

Nick: Think like a messier version -- way messier.

Sharon: Okay. Well, that explains why you're looking for a new career path, but leaving town? Things just fell apart with victor last night. You haven't even had a chance to look for something new.

Nick: Yeah, but this job, it fell right into my lap. At the perfect moment. How can I turn this opportunity down?

Sharon: Why do you really want to leave?

Nick: The conversation with my dad did not end with the job offer. He threatened to take christian away from me.

Abby: It was a couple days off the back end of a holiday weekend, victoria. I put it on the calendar.

Victoria: Not mine.

Abby: What exactly did i miss? Because I checked e-mails and texts while I was in miami, and I didn't see anything important from you or anyone else.

Victoria: Not the point.

Abby: No, because clearly the point is to prove how petty and controlling you can be.

Victoria: Oh, we're not finished.

Abby: [ Sighs ] I would rather discuss this with dad.

Victoria: Dad agrees with me, abby. You think he's okay with you running off to party in miami? You say you want to be taken seriously, and then you pull a stunt like this?

Abby: If that's how dad feels, he can talk to me about it. I don't want to hear it from you.

Victoria: Well, too bad because he's out at meetings today. You'll have to whine to him about it later.

Abby: That's it, isn't it? That's how you see me, as some kid who just doesn't get it, but who's the one who got the paris office of brash & sassy up and running? Oh, yeah! It was me.

Victoria: Yes, that was you. And that was months ago. This is now. Responsible execs don't blow off work because they need a tan, and the mere fact that I have to even say that to you...

Abby: Our business is about relationships. Down in miami, I checked on our clients. I even had drinks with martin brickman.

Victoria: Oh, yes, he told me. He e-mailed and told me how productive it was.

Abby: And you didn't want to lead with that?

Victoria: It's irrelevant.

Abby: [ Scoffs ] Hardly. How much of this is about the rules, and how much of it is about your own ego? Because we all know you tried to make my mother look like a traitor to newman enterprises, but instead, you got slapped on the wrist. My little getaway isn't even in the same category as your crimes. That's it, isn't it? This is about your guilty conscience. And even though you know you could have lost everything, you would still do it all over again because you can't help yourself.

Victoria: Actions have consequences, and lately I've learned that better than anyone.

Abby: I'm sorry. I'm confused. Is this about me or you and J.T.?

Victoria: It means, abby, you made a choice, and now you deal with the fallout. And, honestly, you need thicker skin if you want a career at this level. And if you can't handle that, then you better really think about what kind of a life and what kind of a job you really want.

Jack: You have music, you have models, you have pr, along with the pre-existing assets from mergeron. Health and beauty is the ribbon you need to wrap everything into the perfect package. It is poetic how well everything fits together.

Neil: Yeah, I hear you, man. There's a lot of logic to that, given how much the cosmetic industry is driven by influencers.

Devon: Right, but if we're talking about a start-up here, that implies that you're coming to the table with no funding, means of production, or distribution, correct?

Neil: I think what devon is saying is, even thought you have business expertise, what --

Devon: Of course. We're trying to gauge exactly what your involvement brings to the table.

Jack: A solid track record. Relationships. Contacts. A vital reputation that was forged over decades in the industry.

Devon: What about ashley? Would she be joining you here, or...?

Jack: Ashley is firmly ensconced at newman. For what it's worth, ashley has come and gone at jabot. Our success has never been determined by ashley. Look, what we three can accomplish as a partnership is significant. I've done a five-year projection. I think it will show you this is an easy win for all of us.

Neil: No one's got more experience than you do. The truth is, hamilton-winters group, we're spread way too thin right now. I mean, we don't have the capital or the infrastructure for an undertaking this size.

Jack: Then we start slow. One or two lines, a boutique brand we scale up as we go on. I guarantee results. I guarantee profits.

Neil: Okay, listen, we're gonna look this over, give it, you know, some thorough discussion.

Devon: For sure.

Jack: Well, thank you.

Neil: Yeah, no, thank you for coming to us. I know you have a lot of meetings set up, and we appreciate you giving us a shot.

Devon: We really do, and it's just a little rich for our blood at the moment. But please don't let us stand in the way for you finding the right fit for this.

Jack: Well, in fact, I do have other meetings, but as with the foundation, I was hoping to do this with people I trust. Look things over. I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Devon: Absolutely.

Neil: Okay, jack. We'll be in touch.

[ Sighs ]

Devon: I know he's your friend, man, but I just -- i don't see this as being a good fit.

Neil: Mm. I can't argue with that. I know what it's like being in limbo like that. You just need to know there's a finish line you can aim for.

Hilary: Oh, good. You're finished. Devon --

Devon: I got to get to the studio. Can we talk later? Please.

Hilary: [ Sighs ]

Sharon: Victor knew about christian all this time? But he didn't say anything to you? He didn't say anything to anyone? That has to mean something.

Nick: It means he was stockpiling the information as a weapon. Waiting for when he could do the most damage.

Sharon: But why threaten to go public now and expose the whole family like that? Just because you turned down a job? Yes, victor is very controlling, but this is over the top, even for him.

Nick: It's not just the job. I do not want my son to be around him. I don't want him under that shadow. And I told dad that, and this is how he responded. The idea was to cut my heart out with this news, to prove that he knew more about my son than i did. But the punch didn't land because I already knew.

Sharon: For him to say that to you, just to cause you pain...

Nick: It's who he is.

Sharon: He can't take that little boy away from you, nick. Your name is on the birth certificate. Adam and sage are gone. Even if victor did drag you to court, he couldn't win, could he?

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Hilary: Is that devon? Uh, is he on his way back to the office?

Lily: I'm not his assistant. That would be tessa. And why are you so frantic to talk to him? Oh, look, here's devon. Try not to tackle him.

Devon: Hey.

Hilary: Uh, can we go somewhere to...?

Lily: Hey, you two. What are you guys doing here?

Shauna: Uh, we came because, um... hilary, do you have a second?

Hilary: Um, just -- hey, um... shauna, you know I always have time for you.

Sharon: Thank you so much.

Hilary: Um, but maybe not right this second. How about tonight? Or maybe tomorrow.

Shauna: Uh, that -- that could work.

Hilary: Yeah? We will -- we will definitely have some serious one-on-one time, and you can catch me up on everything, okay?

Shauna: Great. Thanks.

Charlie: Hey. We should go.

Shauna: Yeah. Right.

Charlie: Okay. Bye, mom.

Lily: Bye, sweetie. Bye.

Hilary: Devon?

Lily: Uh, he went to a meeting. He won't be back for the rest of the day.

Hilary: But...

Lily: What? "But" what?

Hilary: Nothing. Nothing at all.

Lily: Okay.

Hilary: [ Sighs ]

Phyllis: Hey. Am I interrupting? I had a meeting downstairs. I wanted to see how devon reacted when you told him there was a bun in the oven.

Hilary: Well, he didn't react because I haven't had a chance to tell him. Devon is so constantly busy that he can't spare two minutes to listen to me.

[ Scoffs ] The way that this is going, he's not gonna find out that there's a baby until my water breaks.

Phyllis: Oh, okay. In that case, you should just give up and sit in the corner. You are hilary curtis. You don't just whimper and give up. Tie him to a chair. Do what it takes.

Hilary: Devon runs a huge company, okay? I have to respect that.

Phyllis: You're creating life. You win. Especially after everything he did with the whole prom thing. That was adorable. And you know how I feel about adorable.

Hilary: Prom. I think I have an idea.

Phyllis: Good.

Hilary: But I can't do it alone.

Phyllis: Okay. Hit me up. I'm up for anything. Except for a stork suit.

Hilary: No. Not you. Her.

Phyllis: Okay, that could be a little tricky. That could tip her off. You don't want to do that.

Hilary: Yeah, and she semi hates me.

Phyllis: That is true, but... she already thinks you're pregnant, so just use that angle and get what you want. Like now.

Hilary: Okay. Yeah, yeah. You're right.

Lily: Yes?

Hilary: I need a favor from auntie lily.

Jack: You don't have to sugarcoat it for me, neil. Hamilton-winters will not be welcoming me into the fold.

Neil: Jack. Devon and I, we have the utmost respect for you. You know that. It's just not the right fit for us right now.

Jack: Yeah. Yeah. I got other meetings, other irons in the fire. Would I rather be making money with someone I think of as a friend? Absolutely. But sometimes it's cleaner to deal with mere acquaintances, certainly better than dealing with family.

Neil: I hear you. You mind if I give you a little advice?

Jack: As my friend, as my sponsor, or as an executive who just shot down my business proposal?

Neil: How about all three? You've been through a lot recently. Makes sense, putting distance between yourself and jabot. Why not a sabbatical instead of a permanent move? Because you might wake up one day and regret leaving the company that you poured your heart and soul into.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Sharon: You want to go with me?

Nick: To yoga? Me?

Sharon: Breathe out all your stress. Clear your head. Victor cannot take away christian. No matter what he knows about adam, you are his legal father. Victor doesn't have a standing.

Nick: Dad doesn't need legal standing. He's got money and influence and dirty tricks.

Sharon: Well, he also has a sense of reality. If victor thought that he could get custody of christian, he must have something specific up his sleeve, and that's impossible. So this was just some random bluff made in the heat of a moment. I mean, what could victor really use to take christian from the home that you've made for him?

Nick: When dad wants something, he thinks he can just have it. But not my son. Not mine. Now, I could fight like hell and drag you and the rest of the family through it, or we could just start over. A new life with a new career in a new city that is far away from here.

Sharon: I understand what you're saying. I get it. But I don't want to see you make a big decision out of fear. Or because you're trying to protect the rest of us from a fight. You know, we're tougher than you think. And this family is worth fighting for.

Nick: It could be a good life. Yeah, we'd have to move away from family and friends, but just imagine what life could be like out from under that shadow. I mean... just -- just think about it, all right? I mean, really consider it.

Sharon: Of course. I will.

Sharon: Well, hello there.

Jack: Hello, you. A word of warning -- if you're going to invite me to your salutations to the sun, it's not happening.

Sharon: You know, I don't know if it's happening for me, either, today.

Jack: Then by all means, have a seat.

Sharon: Club soda, please.

Jack: Rough day?

Sharon: Nothing is ever easy, is it?

Jack: Oh, I used to think things were easy. Boy, was I stupid.

Sharon: Sounds like you also had the rug pulled out from under you today.

Jack: The rug, the walls, the roof.

Sharon: And I shouldn't ask details?

Jack: Time for a fresh start.

Sharon: I might be doing the same, and I don't know if I have it in me.

Jack: Don't sell yourself short. If you want it, you can have it.

Sharon: Maybe that's the point. I'm not sure if I really want it.

Jack: What does that mean? Why not?

Sharon: Old habits. Comfort zones. Fear of the unknown.

Jack: You're gonna let that get in your way? Change is power! You get to chart your own course. Don't we all judge our success by our accomplishments?

Sharon: Sometimes.

Jack: And the only choice is to make something happen. It's the only way we know what and who we really care about.

Sharon: You know, for a man who's drowning his sorrows, you're pretty fired up.

Jack: The pep talk was for you. Maybe there was an item or two there that was for me.

Sharon: I almost forgot what a good friend you can be.

Jack: That's because i believe in you, sharon. I honestly believe you can do anything you set your mind to.

Sharon: Well, you speak from experience. No one can do it better than you.

Jack: To being strong enough for whatever lies ahead.

Charlie: It'll all be okay. We'll talk to hilary tomorrow. She'll know what to do.

Shauna: But what about tonight? I can't keep hiding in your room, charlie. If your parents found out, they would freak.

Charlie: It's just one more night. Come in through the window, and we won't make any noise.

Shauna: It's not right.

Charlie: Hey, I like the floor. I'm serious. Look, one time, when I was a kid, I was playing hide-and-seek with mattie, and I hid under the bed. I thought I was so smart. Then the next thing you know, it's three hours later, and my mom's yelling at me that it's dinnertime. That's how much I like sleeping on the floor.

Shauna: Still... it's not okay, charlie.

Charlie: Yeah, but it's the way things are for now. It'll all work out.

Victoria: You know, you could have said yes. You could have told dad that you would take the C.O.O. Spot.

Nick: Vick, no, I couldn'T. It'd be a jerk thing to do, me walk all over you like that. It's an insult to you and to me. That's why I just have to stay away from dad. But, I admit, he always sucks me back in. The only way to protect my family from this garbage is to get some distance. Until today, I didn't know how to do that. But, vick, I got a job offer. A good one. It's in san diego.

Victoria: What? That's so far away.

Nick: That's why we have texting and airplanes.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I know that, but...

[ Sighs ] The thought of losing you, especially now...

Nick: Vick, you're not losing me. You never will. It's like you're gaining a cool place to bring your kids for the summer. I can't stay. He's made it impossible.

Victoria: Because of the job offer? Look, I know what dad did was nasty, but he was trying to hurt me, not you.

Nick: It's not just the job.

Victoria: Then what else is there?

Nick: This could be a huge opportunity, you know, something to do, some... I don't know, something big, something cool that dad can't touch. I need this.

Victoria: All right. I understand. I'm gonna miss you so much.

Nick: Well, it's not a done deal, you know. I still got some details I got to iron out. Like getting sharon to agree.

Victoria: Oh, right. Sharon. Well, I'm sure that she could probably use a change of scenery, too.

Nick: Yeah, I think it'd do a lot of good. Vick, this would be a whole lot easier if I knew you were happy for me.

Victoria: Of course I am. Always.

Hilary: Devon!

[ Sighs ]

Devon: Hey!

Hilary: Hey.

Devon: What are you doing here? Come inside.

Hilary: Uh... [ Chuckles ] I'm not stalking you. I'm -- well, maybe I am.

Devon: It's fine. I'm sorry I've been so busy today. It's not slowing down, either. I just came to get a change of clothes before I go to this gig.

Hilary: Okay, no, you're not taking another step until you hear me out.

Devon: Are you okay?

Hilary: Can you just, uh... just let me talk, okay?

Devon: Sure.

Hilary: Uh... look familiar?

Devon: [ Chuckles ] Yes. Yes, it does. Even back then, you look like you're about to cause some trouble.

Hilary: Mm, and...

Devon: Oh, wow.

Hilary: What about this handsome little man?

Devon: Wow, wow, wow. Where did you get that?

Hilary: Your sister, believe it or not.

Devon: Yeah?

Hilary: She said it was the only one that they had of you as a baby.

Devon: Wow. Are you using these on air? Is that what's going on?

Hilary: No. No. This is just for us. Okay, um, now, turn around.

Devon: Why?

Hilary: Is it really that hard? Just turn around. Please.

Devon: Okay. Is this weird, or is it just me?

Hilary: Okay, just be quiet, please!

Devon: Okay.

Hilary: [ Sighs ]

Devon: [ Clears throat ]

Hilary: Okay, okay. Um... all right, now... turn back around.

Devon: You sure?

Hilary: Mm-hmm.

Devon: It took?

Hilary: It took.

Devon: So you've been trying to tell me all that you're actually, properly pregnant?

Hilary: Mm-hmm.

Devon: And I was too busy.

Hilary: Mm-hmm.

Devon: I'm sorry.

[ Laughs ] This is amazing.

Hilary: Yeah, I -- I couldn't agree more.

Devon: Oh, my god. [ Laughs ] You're -- it's a baby.

Hilary: It's our baby.

Devon: [ Sighs, chuckles ]

Nick: Hey. What are you thinking about?

Sharon: Mm. Where we're gonna live, where faith will go to school, if you have to travel for work. Will I have to sell the coffeehouse? I imagine the cost of living is a lot higher in san diego.

Nick: So, the answer is yes?

Sharon: I'm just doing what you asked. I'm giving it proper thought. But what about mariah?

Nick: Yeah. There's a lot of moving parts. A lot of decisions have to be made. But in the end, it'd be us. You, me, faith, and christian. All right? Going to the beach, road trips to the mountains... it's a whole new world for us, and I can see it. I'm telling you, I can see it.

Sharon: Is this something that you need? I mean, something you really need, something that you would do with or without me?

Nick: No, when I think about doing this... it's doing it together. I'm not gonna make any decisions, you know, until you tell me what you want to do. I can't lose you, and I can tell you in my heart this feels like the right move.

Abby: And then she said --

[ Chuckles ] You know what, who cares what she said? I came here to forget about victoria and anything newman-related.

Arturo: Okay, well, this should help.

Abby: Ahh! Yes! [ Laughs ]

Arturo: You know, I really am sorry that I couldn't run back to miami with you.

Abby: Well, I am pretending like we're there right now.

Arturo: Mm.

Abby: Saving our energy to go dancing later. Thank you. For meeting me here. You didn't have to, but you did.
