Episode #11401 ~ Nikki receives a painful reminder of her past; Lily surprises Cane; Jack makes peace with Dina.

Lily: It's true, that when i look at him, I can't help but think how he came into our lives. He's an innocent baby, and i try, but I can't really help how I feel.

Hilary: During and after this pregnancy, whatever we do, we do it as co-parents.

Devon: Just two friendly platonic co-parents.

Nikki: I know where we could bury J.T. -- The garden at chancellor park.

Abby: I get why kyle might be vindictive enough to want to ruin uncle jack's life, but why would he want to blow up his own?

Neil: You believe that this paternity test is flawed. What's the harm in getting another one?

Jack: You're right, that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna prove I am john abbott jr. Once and for all.

Ashley: This is from me.

Dina: Oh!

[ Gasps ]

Ashley: It's one of a kind. I blended the fragrance just for you.

Dina: Oh, thank you, ashley! But, you know, I just don't understand. It's not christmas again so soon, is it? Or my birthday?

Ashley: No, it's mother's day.

Dina: Oh, I see. Are you sure?

Traci: Yes, and we wanted it be an extra special day for you.

Dina: Oh, how nice. Well, I don't understand. Shouldn't you be spending this day with your own mother?

Traci: Oh, I will. Don't worry.

[ Door opens ]

Abby: Oh! Uncle jack. We were afraid you wouldn't make the celebration.

Jack: I wouldn't have missed it! I picked up something special on the way home!

Dina: Oh, well, isn't that lovely?

Jack: Something that sums up your relationship with your children perfectly.

Ashley: Jack...

Jack: It's a receipt from the dna lab.

Traci: Stop it.

Jack: It's a gift. See, I had a swab taken to be tested to answer the question once and for all whether I'm an abbott.

Nick: Here you go. I thought you'd like to use your favorite mug to honor the occasion.

Sharon: Aww. Thank you.

Nick: What else can I do for you? I mean, it is your special day.

Sharon: Well... hmm. There is one thing I could think of.

Nick: What's that?

Sharon: You know.

Mariah: Hey, have you guys seen my phone anywhere? What did I interrupt?

Sharon: What do you mean?

Nick: Nothing.

Mariah: Don't tell me that because I came down the stairs and I heard voices, and then suddenly when I got here, you guys went silent. So what's going on? And don't tell me nothing.

Lily: Aww, thank you for bringing me out to brunch.

Charlie: Well, we thought about trying to make it for you ourselves at home.

Mattie: Until we decided that you'd probably like something edible.

[ Laughter ]

Devon: And it is on the house.

Cane: Hey, you don't have to do that, okay?

Lily: Uh, yes, he does.

Devon: I have to take care of my sister on her big day.

Lily: Thank you.

Devon: How's she doing? Same as always?

Cane: Yeah, sentimental from the moment she woke up.

Lily: What?

Cane: Hey, you know it's true.

Lily: Well, I can't help it. My babies are all grown up.

Mattie: Do something quick before she pulls up those snaggletooth school pictures on her phone.

[ Laughter ]

Charlie: To the greatest mom anyone could ever hope to have.

Lily: Aww, thank you. Cheers!

Cane: Cheers. Happy mother's day.

Lily: Thank you.

Nikki: Victoria, call me if you need anything. I love you, darling.

[ Doorbell rings ] Oh.

Kyle: I'm looking for victor.

Nikki: And good morning to you, too, kyle.

Kyle: Sorry, I just was expecting to --

Nikki: No, no, it's fine. Please come in. I am used to single-minded men. I'm married to one. But victor isn't home.

Kyle: Do you know where he is?

Nikki: I'm not sure.

Kyle: Did he say anything to you about what happened at dina's movie premiere?

Nikki: No, he didn'T. Is dina all right?

Kyle: She's fine. Just, uh, some family drama.

Nikki: Well, he probably didn't mention it because he knows dina and I don't get along.

Kyle: What could you possibly have against my grandmother?

Nikki: Actually, it's more that your grandmother has something against me. And as sympathetic as I am to her condition, I don't really care to be belittled, and she did stab me.

Kyle: Oh. Yeah. They told me about that.

Nikki: Yeah, that could have critically injured me.

Kyle: Instead, you were barely scratched. Wish my mother had been so lucky when you attacked her.

Nikki: Kyle, I didn't mean --

Kyle: No. No worries. I'm sure you didn't mean to bother me or yourself with such an unpleasant memory. Tell victor I dropped by.

Nikki: Wait. Please. There are some things that i need to say to you. Today, of all days.

Nikki: We, uh, haven't really spoken at length since you came back to town.

Kyle: Nikki, really, this is not the time.

Nikki: No, this is the right time. It has to be now. Believe me.

Kyle: Why?

Nikki: I want you to know how sorry I am. Because of me, your mother is gone.

Kyle: She's not gone. She's dead. Because of you.

Nikki: And I will always feel terrible about that, but she came at me...

Kyle: And the only way you could stop her was by bashing her skull in with a rock.

Nikki: I had to keep her from hurting me. I had no choice.

Kyle: "Choice." Hmm. How about screaming for help or running away or...?

Nikki: No, there was no...

Kyle: Time? Guess that does make a difference. You tell me -- how much time did you spend mulling over the choice you made to stop my mom from having a child with victor?

Nikki: Oh, well, now that is --

Kyle: Different? How? You felt cornered, so you lashed out. Result? Jack abbott is my dad.

Nikki: Jack is a wonderful man. You're lucky to have him as a father.

Kyle: Oh, you're good. Really. You've got serious skills.

Nikki: What does that mean?

Kyle: You've always got an excuse handy when you don't want to admit who you really are.

Nikki: And who is that?

Kyle: Someone who, despite a wealth of choices, keeps choosing to hurt people.

Nikki: I haven't even...

Kyle: You forced me into this conversation today. Today, when I could be remembering my mom telling me a story or walking me to school or telling me some dumb joke. But, instead, you made it about you, and now today, just like the hundreds of days since you killed her, it'll be filled with memories of how she died.

Nikki: I'm so sorry.

Kyle: We're back to your catchphrases. You play god with other people's lives and you pull out the "I'm sorrys" and the "I couldn't help its."

Nikki: I am trying --

Kyle: Have you tried dropping the victim act and taking responsibility for what you've done? Guess not. Because you've literally gotten away with murder. Anything more to defend or discuss? Great. I'm done talking, too. I'll leave you to it. Happy mother's day.

Mariah: That's it? You were just talking about work? Then why the sudden silence?

Nick: There's nothing left to say. You know, planning the week's schedule is not exactly a riveting topic.

Sharon: You've just gotten used to looking for juicy stories everywhere.

Nick: And on that topic, I am planning to prepare a very special meal, you know, for a formal celebration later and kind of got a lot going on. So would you mind running to the store for me?

Mariah: I thought you went to the store yesterday.

Nick: I did go to the store yesterday, but I forgot something. Sassafras.

Mariah: Sassafras. Are you serious?

Nick: I'm very serious. Uh, I need it. Never heard of it? Ground sassafras for aka gumbo filé?

Mariah: That's not a thing.

Nick: It's a thing. I saw it on a cooking show. And I want to make it. So, could you run to the store for me? I'm sure they have it at that spice store in town.

Mariah: Yeah. Okay. I'll do that. But just because I had to run another errand anyway.

Sharon: Sassafras?

Nick: It was the first thing that popped into my mind. I...

Sharon: And you're making gumbo for us?

Nick: Apparently I am now.

Sharon: Well, that's really sweet. All of that, just to steal a few moments alone with me.

Nick: Well, faith is at her friend's house.

Sharon: And christian is with the babysitter.

Nick: I really got to go and see my mom soon.

Sharon: Well, too bad that only leaves us a small window of time.

Nick: I'm gonna take full advantage of it.

Traci: Jack. Don't you think that a coffee might be a little more appropriate?

Jack: No, that won't do it.

Dina: John, I don't understand what test you're talking about. Is this some new product that you're working on at jabot?

Jack: No.

Abby: Dina, don't be concerned about that.

Ashley: Yeah, abby's right. This isn't the time or the place.

Jack: Well, what better place? This is a family gathering, isn't it? And family, what that means, who that really is, is a very current topic.

Traci: Stop it.

Jack: Kyle! Hey, great to see you, buddy.

Kyle: Didn't want to miss dina opening her presents.

Dina: Oh!

Kyle: What's going on?

Jack: Well, this could affect you, too. In my gut, I know who my father is, but putting that to rest, removing any shadow of a doubt is another thing.

Kyle: Maybe later we can --

Jack: You know, why is everybody interrupting me?

Ashley: Because dina doesn't need to hear this, jack.

Jack: No, dina needs to hear this. I am testing my dna against billy'S.

Abby: Uncle jack, can we not do this right now?

Jack: As billy has another mother, a woman who was desperate to keep her marriage and have an abbott child, i think it's safe to say that billy is definitely john's son. So, what better person to cross-check my paternity with? What do you think, mother?

Ashley: I think that we've had enough, and maybe we need to go into the kitchen, and I'll make you some coffee.

Jack: I like it here fine, thanks.

Traci: I think you'll go with ashley into the kitchen. Now.

Jack: Fine.

Traci: Hey, how are you doing?

Dina: I'm not sure.

Traci: Okay, you know what, let's do something fun.

Dina: Okay!

Traci: What do you think about trying out a little of your beautiful new perfume?

Dina: Oh!

Abby: I was wondering when you were gonna show. My mom told me you weren't around last night. You were up and out of here before everyone else this morning.

Kyle: I needed some space. It's been pretty intense with my dad flipping out.

Abby: Mm. Isn't that what you expected?

Kyle: What do you mean?

Abby: My mom and I are onto you. We know you had ravi recover that video footage of dina admitting that jack is not john's son. This family is going through hell right now, and it's all because of you.

Abby: I'm so disgusted with you.

Kyle: I didn't mess with dina's movie.

Abby: How can you stand here and lie to my face?

Kyle: When I found the memory card in the fireplace, yeah, i wondered what could be so scandalous you and ashley would destroy it.

Abby: So you took it.

Kyle: But then I saw the video, and it shocked the hell out of me. I knew it would kill dad and had to be kept a secret.

Abby: Then why did you do it?

Kyle: I didn't do it!

Abby: Yeah, 'cause you're so upstanding and decent.

Kyle: Because of that damn "blood abbott" clause. Yeah. It strikes again. From the moment I got back into town, I wanted nothing more than to prove my worth at jabot and to show all of you I can lead the company into the future. Why would I leak that video and ruin my chance at becoming C.E.O. One day? My dad isn't the only one who had something to lose if that story got out.

[ Knocks on door ]

[ Cellphone rings ]

Sharon: Nikki? Uh, yeah. I'm here. I'm sorry, I was just in the kitchen. Yeah, just, um, give me a sec. I need to turn the stove off. I'll be right there.

[ Sighs ] Gosh.

Nikki: Hi.

Sharon: Hey!

Nick: Hey, mom! Happy mother's day.

Nikki: Oh, well, thank you, darling, and thank you for the lovely gifts from you and the children.

Nick: Sure. What's the deal? I thought we had a while before we had to go to chancellor park.

Nikki: Um, yeah, about that...

Nick: We could go early. I know you want to make sure the planting of the garden goes well.

Nikki: I canceled the ceremony.

Nick: Why, mom? I know how important that is to you.

Hilary: I cannot believe this! I could just...

Devon: Hey, excuse me, guys.

Cane: Drama's here.

Devon: What's wrong?

Hilary: I went to chancellor park to cover the planting of the new garden. Oh, and the event has been canceled, but nikki didn't bother to inform me.

Devon: Okay. Well, I mean, you can go and put the equipment up in the office and take the day off. See ya. You need to relax. Stress isn't good for you.

Hilary: Oh, I'm not that stressed.

Devon: No? I'm gonna make sure of that. Why don't you walk over with me while I tell the family I'm heading out?

Hilary: No, you just -- is that...?

Devon: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Sam's here.

Hilary: Hello, everyone.

[ Gasps ] Look at you, sweet boy. I haven't seen you in so long.

Lily: Are you joining us?

Devon: No, we're taking off. Hilary just wanted to come over and say hello.

Hilary: He only gets more adorable. Well, it's nice to see all of you, looking so happy. Believe it or not, lily, I hope you're having a wonderful mother's day.

Nick: I don't get it, mom. You specifically planned this event for this holiday.

Nikki: I also planned to have a couple of vips with deep pockets to help promote it and fund our building plans, but when they dropped out at the last minute...

Nick: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it. It's inconvenient, but it's probably best to delay it.

Nikki: I think so. So, now that I have a little extra time, I was hoping, sharon, that you and I could discuss our new charity project.

Sharon: Sure, but why don't we go up to the main house? That way, I can review the notes I made last time we met there.

Nikki: Oh, great, I really appreciate it.

Nick: Does this has to happen now?

Nikki: I have so much on my plate right now.

Sharon: I understand, and i will just be back as soon as i can.

Nick: But I have something for mom... all right.

Abby: Okay, so, um, kyle -- he admitted to stealing the memory card and watching the footage but denies splicing it into the movie.

Ashley: Do you believe him?

Abby: I mean, I hate to say it, but yeah.

Ashley: That video shattered kyle's life, too, so maybe he didn't set it up.

Abby: Either way, I think we need to tell uncle jack that kyle had access to the video.

Ashley: No, absolutely not. Telling jack that at this point is not gonna accomplish a thing.

Traci: Dina's ready to open more gifts!

Dina: [ Gasps ]

Traci: [ Laughs ]

Dina: Oh, my goodness! Oh, I always love to get chocolates on holidays. I remember so many wonderful mother's days right in this home. We would have a lovely brunch, and we'd all sit around the dining room table, and then john would give me a stunning piece of jewelry.

Jack: And even that wasn't enough.

Dina: Well, I'm sorry if i upset you, john. I love you. And I never meant to hurt you.

Jack: [ Chuckles ] Amazing, isn't it, how she always thinks I'm him?

Traci: You have made your point.

Jack: Hey, I'm just being positive! She thinks I look like him. She's not alone. People have remarked on the resemblance for my whole life! All the more reason not to believe her story, to realize that it's just make-believe. Just because my mother slept with half the country club...

Kyle: That's enough, dad!

Jack: ...Doesn't mean I'm not john abbott's son!

Kyle: Stop talking about your mother that way! Show some respect!

Nikki: I worry about how i handled myself with nicholas. I mean, I can't exactly say the planting is off because the gardeners might find J.T.'S body.

Sharon: I don't think you raised his suspicions.

Nikki: How has been with you?

Sharon: A few days ago, he was all over me with questions about what happened that night at victoria'S. He's backed off since then, though.

Nikki: But he's still determined to find him! I just can't stand it! My own son is set on finding J.T. He has no idea that he's dead or that I'm the one who killed him.

Sharon: Where is this coming from?

Nikki: Kyle. He came by earlier and... ever since, I've just been feeling so guilty. He stirred up a lot of things.

Sharon: About diane's death.

Nikki: He accused me. He taunted me. Oh, it was horrible. And he's right! You know, what kind of person am I? I left him without a mother just like I left reed without a father.

[ Voice breaking ] God, I killed my own father. I mean, maybe I should be locked up!

Sharon: You listen to me. In every one of those instances, you were acting in self-defense. Your hand was forced.

Nikki: J.T.?

Sharon: You were protecting your daughter. You know, J.T., He was enraged that night. He was hell-bent on hurting victoria. Maybe worse. You didn't mean to kill him.

Nikki: I just wish there had been another way, you know?

Sharon: We all do. You have been a rock for your daughter while trying to cope with what's happened. I understand how difficult that is, but you can't fall apart now, nikki. You need to keep it together. You need to be here for your family. They need you!

Nikki: I don't know.

Sharon: Are these from victoria?

Nikki: Yeah.

Sharon: "Thanks for always standing by my side, for helping me through the toughest time of my life." If you thought that you were some kind of monster or you were being self-serving, there's your answer. Victoria survived this because of you. She loves you so much. This is who you are, nikki. You're a good person, you're a good mother. Don't ever forget that, not for a moment.

Nick: If I didn't know better, I'd think you two were mother and daughter. What's going on?

Devon: See you soon. Your lunch will be here any minute.

Hilary: Thank you.

Devon: You're welcome.

Hilary: Why are you working today?

Devon: Because I'm trying to find a new r&b singer to record all the amazing songs I had lined up for simone.

Hilary: Well, I'm not gonna pretend like I'm sorry that you broke up with her. But I am surprised that she left lp.

Devon: Yeah, it's a big loss to the label.

Hilary: Well, I'm sure you'll find a fabulous replacement. But this time...

Devon: This time, what?

Hilary: Perhaps "strictly professional" is the way to go.

Devon: Oh, well, thank you for the advice, but you're a little late.

Hilary: You're dating someone already?

Devon: No, I'm not, and i don't intend to.

Hilary: Why not?

Devon: Because when I told you I'm not interested in a new relationship, I wasn't just talking about simone. I think between work and hopefully a baby on the way, dating for me would be too complicated right now. What about you?

Hilary: Like you said... too complicated.

Nick: Mother's day emotion? Really?

Sharon: Well, I was --

Nikki: We were talking --

Sharon: I was reading this card your sister sent to nikki.

Nikki: I don't know what came over me. All of a sudden, I was just a mess.

Sharon: Your mom's just having a rough day, worrying about victoria and wondering what else she can do to help her.

Nikki:I mean, I'm really glad that she took this trip, but i really miss her today.

Nick: Yeah, I know what you mean. We're missing noah, right? Well, I think I have something that will cheer you up.

Sharon: Here. Open it. Open it.

Nikki: Another present?

Nick: Uh, it's more a statement. I wanted to give it to you earlier, but you two took off so fast. It's a sign for chancellor garden.

Sharon: "Nicole newman presents this garden in honor of her beloved friend, katherine chancellor. Relax, reflect, renew." That's -- it's beautiful.

Nick: Yeah, you know, I was gonna present it to you today at the ceremony. So you're just gonna have to imagine what it will look like when it's in its place. And everyone who visits that garden will know that you are the one who's responsible for it.

Nikki: I love it more than you know. Thank you so much. It means...so much to me.

Traci: Let's open this one in the den, okay?

Dina: Well, I didn't mean to cause any trouble...

Traci: No, no. I know that. I just think you need a little peace and quiet right now, huh?

Dina: Oh, you're such a kind young woman. Your mother's so very lucky.

Traci: Thank you.

Kyle: I get that you're all torn up about this, but going after dina with her condition...

Jack: I can't take this in stride like the rest of you. I know that dna test is wrong, but no matter what I say or what I prove, people are still going to believe the lie because of the kind of person my mother is.

Ashley: The kind of person she was, jack. Even I had to come to terms with that. I decided to let go of the anger that I've harbored towards her.

Jack: Because you've realized you're just as bad as dina.

Ashley: Excuse me?

Jack: Well, how long did you keep the truth from abby about victor being her father?

Abby: Oh, my god...

Ashley: You're gonna question my ethics? You of all people.

Abby: No, no, that is ancient history, and I've moved past it, so you do not get to badger my mother about it.

Jack: I can't point out a pattern here of women selfishly playing with your children's lives? Diane did the same thing, kept me from years with my son.

Kyle: That's it! I won't let you trash my mom. Not today!

Jack: Kyle. Kyle. Kyle. I'm -- I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Kyle: I believe you. But I'm not the only one you should be saying that to.

[ Door slams ]

Traci: Well, mother is resting, and I hope the two of you had a chance to talk some sense into jack. Where's kyle?

Ashley: He made the wise decision and he left because jack went off again.

Abby: This time, my mom and diane were the targets. I'm heading out. I'm gonna go try to track down kyle, check on him.

Ashley: Thanks, honey. Traci and I will take care of things here.

Abby: Happy mother's day.

Ashley: Thank you, honey.

Traci: Thank you. So, what, you're just vilifying everyone indiscriminantly?

Jack: I lost my temper, okay?

Traci: Yeah, well, you're gonna have to get yourself together. Try to be a decent son and look in there somewhere for a little forgiveness, or you're gonna regret it.

Jack: Yeah, I doubt that.

Traci: Oh, really? Jack, this is her -- this may be her last mother's day. Now, look, she won't remember it, but all the rest of us will.

Dina: Oh! The card said this was from you. Oh, it's exquisite. Thank you, traci, dear.

Traci: You're welcome, mother. Oh, I'm so happy to share this special day with you.

Dina: Oh, come here.

Cane: All right, uh, my fellow ashbys, it is that time again, and your mission is to list all the sweet and silly reasons why this lady right here is a great mom.

Charlie: Mm, she randomly plays with my hair.

Mattie: I know, right? She'll stroke it or wrap it around her finger...

Charlie: Didn't you say your mom used to do that, too?

Lily: Yeah, all the time. I can see so much of her in both of you. You guys would have adored her. She would have been crazy about you.

Cane: You still miss her, don't you?

Lily: Oh, yeah. Every day. It doesn't matter how old you are. You always want your mom.

Mattie: Sam won't have memories of his mom.

Cane: Well, we can show him pictures and talk about her and, you know, tell him how much juliet wanted him and loved him.

Charlie: That's still not the same as having your mom tell you that herself.

Lily: No, it's not.

Devon: You got kind of quiet.

Hilary: This day has never been easy for me. Especially now, when I'm hoping to have a child. I just wish that I could talk to my mom. That we could go through this together.

Devon: Hey. If your mother was anything like you, I guarantee she's never left your side. She's with you in spirit right now, and she's gonna be watching over you every step of the way.

Traci: There! Well, you look positively chic!

Dina: Really?

Traci: This scarf, it reminds me of one that you used to wear all the time.

Dina: Years ago?

Traci: Yes.

Dina: Did you work here back then?

Traci: [ Sighs ] We have been in each other's lives for a very long time. Now, if you will excuse me, i think I'm gonna make us some more tea.

Dina: Goodie!

Traci: Okay.

Ashley: I'm so sorry. Are you okay? I'm sorry.

Traci: Yes, I'm gonna be just fine. I wish it would have lasted longer, but...

[ Sobbing ] She knew me. For one brief, beautiful, perfect moment, she knew who i was. After so long of her not knowing, recognizing me, i wasn't sure if we were gonna ever make a real connection again, and... and now I don't know what the chances are of that ever happening again.

Lily: It's taken a little while for us to get to know each other, huh? I'm so happy that you're a part of our family now. You know, I know that being a parent is a lot more than biology. It's about the love that you have and the care that you take and the support. And I love you, sam, like you're my own. And I promise to be the best mother I can be to you.

Hilary: If this procedure did work and I am...pregnant, then our baby will be born a few weeks later than people would have expected.

Devon: So?

Hilary: So I don't want to announce that I wasn't pregnant when I thought that I was. You know, with the show and everything, it's gonna be awkward and embarrassing. So...I was wondering if you wouldn't mind... I mean, if it's a problem, it's -- it's okay. I'll just figure it...

Devon: Hilary. I'm completely fine with it.

Hilary: You are?

Devon: Yeah. I'm staying positive. I want to believe that this time next year, we will be celebrating your first mother's day with our brand-new beautiful baby.

Hilary: I would love nothing more.

Nick: Thanks for being so cool with my mom earlier. She clearly needed a boost.

Sharon: Oh, I was glad to do it. Things might have gone differently if nikki had walked in here and found us all over each other.

Nick: Yeah, we're gonna have to be a little more careful, maybe get a little creative.

[ Door opens ]

Mariah: Hey!

Sharon: Hi! I thought you'd be back sooner.

Mariah: Well, after I stopped to get nick's sassafras...

Nick: Yeah, buddy!

Mariah: Here you go. I went to go pick up your gift. So, do you want to open it now, or do you want to wait till the dinner thing?

Sharon: Now, please.

Mariah: Yeah? Okay.

Sharon: [ Giggles ] Let's see.

[ Gasps ] Oh! Mariah!

Nick: Aww.

Sharon: I love it! It's fantastic!

Mariah: Yeah?

Sharon: I really love it. Thank you.

Mariah: You're welcome. I got it because, to me, you are the ultimate kick-ass, do-it-all superhero mom.

Sharon: Not even close.

Mariah: Yeah, you really are. And not just to me, but to your other kids and to all the people that you help. And I know I don't say it enough, but... I love you, mom.

Abby: Hey.

Kyle: Got sick of the fun-fest back at the house?

Abby: [ Scoffs ] The worst was over. Uncle jack seemed a little more subdued after you took off.

Kyle: Glad I could help.

Abby: Hey, what he said to you, to you and dina, he was way out of line.

Jack: I asked for time alone with you.

Dina: Well, what's so important, jack?

Jack: I wanted to apologize for my bad behavior earlier.

Dina: I left you and your sisters.

Jack: And you had other men in your life besides my... besides john abbott.

Dina: I'm sorry. Have I disappointed you?

Jack: No, no, no. I was disappointed, yes, but i had no right to take that out on you. You're a different person now, and you're going through so much. I don't want to make things any harder or more painful or more confusing for you.

Dina: Oh, well, thank you, but... you see, I'm the one who made things so painful and disappointing for you.

Jack: I think you're wrong about my paternity.

Dina: Oh?
