Episode #11386 ~ Jack confronts Victor, Phyllis gives Sharon a warning, and Kyle plays with fire.

Nikki: I think we'll be able to dig down deep enough, bury the body.

Sharon: It would be a quiet resting place.

Phyllis: You know, that's katherine chancellor's spot. No one's gonna disturb it.

Nick: I will not rest until J.T. Is found and punished. And if the police can't do their job, I'll find J.T. Myself.

Abby: We were this close to revealing jack's true paternity.

Ashley: Well, now that order has been restored, that secret has to remain buried.

Lauren: Who's the lucky chemist?

Jack: Helen wallace. She is a whiz in the lab. Just the person we need to propel jabot to new heights.

Paul: Helen wallace, this is nikki newman, victor's wife. Nikki, this is helen, uh... victor's mistress, for want of a better word.

Nikki: Really, victor? You told dr. Hillerman -- not asked him. Told him -- that you would be leaving the hospital tonight? Against his wishes?

Victor: Well --

Nikki: Wait. Let me finish. You know you could relapse?

Victor: Mm-hmm. May I speak now?

Nikki: I'd really rather you didn'T.

Victor: I'll have a doctor come to the house. Tell me about J.T.

Nikki: The police are looking for him. Let them do their job. I'll go get the car to take you home.

Helen: Uh...

Victor: Oh. Helen.

Sharon: Nick wants to track down J.T. So he can bring him to justice for what he did to victor.

Phyllis: Man. It is bad enough the cops are trying to track down J.T., But we don't need nick hiring a bunch of P.I.'S to help the cause.

Sharon: Um, he's not going to hire a group of investigators.

Phyllis: Well, then, he will go rogue and handle it himself. The point is, you're gonna have to distract him.

Sharon: I've already done everything I can think of to get nick's attention.

Phyllis: Have you really? Everything?

Sharon: Well, I haven't stripped naked and yelled,

I'm yours, take me now, if that's what you're suggesting.

Phyllis: Well, of course that's where your mind goes. Sharon, you are the closest to nick right now, so get him in line.

Sharon: Get him in line ?

Phyllis: Yes. And fast.

Sharon: In case you haven't noticed, nick isn't the kind of guy you can just bark orders at.

Phyllis: That's not what I'm saying.

Sharon: Well, it sure as hell sounds like it.

Phyllis: If that man is gonna listen to anyone right now, it's you.

Sharon: What do you want me to do, phyllis?

Phyllis: I already told you. Distract him. Paint a dot on christian's face and ask nick if it's chicken pox. We're in this together. Your job is to get nick off the J.T. Train.

[ Cellphone chimes ] And if that's him, now is a perfect time to start. What? Why -- why that look? What's wrong?

Sharon: I-it's nick.

Phyllis: Good!

Sharon: He wants to meet.

Phyllis: Even better!

Sharon: At chancellor park garden.

Abby: Be honest. Did you have to physically remove kyle from your chair?

Jack: He was on his best behavior. Team player, all of that. And, no, not for a second did i believe his act.

Ashley: Well, you shouldn'T. He tried to take jabot public against family wishes.

Jack: You have to admit, it was a bold move. And I think it's fair to say this won't be his last gambit for control.

Ashley: Even when you and i were going head-to-head, we always put jabot first. For kyle to be able to turn his back --

Abby: No, no, no. It wasn't just against jabot. It was for victor. And, yes, I'm very happy that my dad is recovering, but this whole thing with him and kyle, it's -- it's classic. Kyle's been gone for how long? And I've been here. I've been by his side. Yet he chooses to team up with kyle.

Ashley: That's because kyle is capable of betraying the abbotts, and you're not. Sorry, jack, but it's the truth.

Jack: No, no. Don't be. You're right. Kyle behaves like he's an abbott in name only.

Abby: Kyle thinks that he's working with my dad, not for him -- like a team. But it doesn't work that way with my dad, okay?

[ Doorbell rings ] Kyle is in way over his head. It makes me nervous for him.

Ashley: Look who's here.

Kyle: Any more room at the inn for another abbott?

Lily: This is so nice. Dinner, just the two of us.

Cane: I missed you when you were in new york.

Lily: I know. I missed you, too. But my trip was very productive. I had meetings, models, potential campaigns. I have really big plans.

Cane: Which you're gonna make happen.

Lily: Yeah. I mean, my dad was less than convinced at first, but I get it, you know? He goes away, there's no modeling division. He comes back, and here I am. But I love my job right now. And even though it's hard and demanding, it's also exciting and satisfying.

Cane: Stop, stop, stop, stop.

Lily: Stop, stop, stop what?

Cane: Stop -- stop saying

exciting and satisfying, 'cause if you don't, we are not gonna get through dinner.

[ Both chuckle ]

Lily: You want to go to the coat room, don't you?

Cane: Mm-hmm.

Lily: Well, you know what? Waiting is half the fun.

Cane: Well, you know what? Whoever said that was a liar.

Lily: I'll prove it to you.

Cane: Are we going to the coat room?

Lily: Dance with me.

[ Giggles ]

Nikki: My, my, victor. You do love to make an entrance and an exit, don't you? Having your friend drive you home. I'm surprised you didn't choose someone more discreet, though.

Victor: You and helen met at the p-- the police station?

Helen: That's right. Right after I was accused of turning off victor's ventilator.

Nikki: You got that right. Nicholas alerted the authorities because we had no idea who this strange woman was sneaking in and out of your room. Well, thanks to paul, I know now that she's your mistress. And nicholas knows that, too.

Helen: Victor also let me know that he could hear me when I would stop by, and that whenever I visited, it would make a difference.

Nikki: Aww. That is just so nice for both of you.

Victor: I heard you, too. Where were you the night I was attacked? Where were you?

Kyle: I don't know if my dad told you both, but I'm back in genoa city for good. The gcac is great, but it -- it's a hotel. It's not a home. So I thought I'd take a chance. See if there's room for me here.

Jack: No vacancies at the newman ranch?

Kyle: I never even considered that place. Yeah, I've lived there. But it's so far out of town.

Ashley: Oh, so this is a more desirable location. Gotcha.

Kyle: And there's the fact that I'm not a newman. I'm an abbott. I want to be here, with family. I asked abby and ashley if I could move in when you were in jail. They didn't think it was the best idea. But I'm hoping I can convince them otherwise.

Jack: An ambitious young man with an active social life? Are you sure the family home is the best fit?

Kyle: Here's the thing. I don't want to be out there. I want to be in here, with you. Life doesn't happen in -- in a boardroom or a corner office. It happens in a home, with,

who took the last bagel? Or,

who wants to watch the game? So, I haven't always been a part of the family. How about we make up for lost time?

Dina: I vote yes.

Sharon: I can't believe i have to go back to the place where we -- where you and victoria and nikki and I -- god. What does nick know? And why did he text me? Why not you?

Phyllis: Just calm down. Why would he casually text you and say, hey, come on over, if he found a corpse in chancellor park? No. He would have more sense than that. He would call the police. I ditched J.T.'S phone at the airport. So come on. Think, please. Just give it a shot. Why would nick want to meet you at the park?

Sharon: I don't know. That's the point. And you're just as worried about this as I am, so don't pretend like I'm the one freaking out and you're perfectly calm.

Phyllis: All right. Even if nick did find something related to J.T. At the park, there is nothing to connect us to that loser.

Sharon: There were four women burying a body, phyllis. Who knows? One of us could have dropped an earring or a credit card.

Phyllis: You're being irrational, okay? You're being irrational. Look, it's contagious.

Sharon: When nick wants information, he gets it. He found chloe.

Phyllis: Well, it helps that she was walking and talking at the time. J.T. Isn't, now is he? The only one that's gonna blab about this is one of us. And by one of us, I mean you.

Sharon: Well, I'm sorry I'm not a professional liar like you are.

Phyllis: You are an excellent amateur. Just ask sully -- I mean christian. There you go. Do exactly that. You hold that look and go meet up with nick. Find out if he knows anything about J.T. If you get all weak-kneed and spill your guts about what happened at victoria's, you leave my name out of it.

Sharon: Oh, what happened to

we're all in this together ?

Phyllis: Well, we're only as strong as our weakest link.

Sharon: And you're so sure that's me.

Phyllis: Well, it ain't me, sister.

Nikki: I do regret that i wasn't by your side sooner after your injury. But you had ashley, your ex-wife. And then you had a visit from your first wife, julia. And, of course, your new friend helen.

Victor: Who -- who... were you with? Who were you with the night I was attacked?

Nikki: That's not in the spirit of our agreement, victor.

Victor: I want his name.

Nikki: Well, it's not jack, if that makes you feel any better. Sometimes he gets terribly jealous over jack. It's really rather endearing. Sometimes.

Helen: I mean, if victor wants to know who you're seeing --

Nikki: You know what, if victor asked you to drive him to our home, it's because he wanted to make his point. He's just annoyed that I wasn't at home making him a get-well quilt. We made that agreement for a reason.

Victor: You told helen at the police station you're the love of my life.

Nikki: Because it's true. You seem like an intelligent woman, helen. If the bond between victor and me surprises you, I guess you've been kidding yourself.

Helen: [ Scoffs ]

Victor: It's time.

Helen: Mm. Yeah. Okay. Here.

Victor: Okay.

Helen: Let's just slowly... slowly.

Victor: W-we'll see you at home.

Dina: Now, kyle, tell me more about yourself.

Abby: At first, I thought dina might think kyle was you. I'm -- I'm not sure who she thinks he is, but she knows she likes him.

Jack: You know, with kyle living here, that'd be one more person to help with dina. Someone who hasn't heard all of her stories a million times.

Ashley: Jack, kyle always has an agenda. When you were in jail, he tried to take your job. He tried to take jabot public. So what does he have to gain by living here?

Abby: Maybe it's not what kyle's looking for, but maybe it's what my dad's after.

Ashley: In any case, I think it's risky to have him here.

Jack: I saw what victor did to adam. Setting him apart. Judging him. Making him prove his worth or his loyalty. It ate adam up inside. I'm not gonna treat kyle that way. He's our family. He's my family. I know he's worked against us, against me. There's still time to fix it. I mean, look how things are with billy now. Look how things are with you and me.

Ashley: Please. You and I are still a work in progress.

Jack: I'm just saying, it's a whole lot better if we're under the same roof. Come on. Day in, day out? Kind of hard to keep that crazy fervor of resentment alive if -- if you're breaking bread at the family table. Look, I'm gonna be honest. I want him to live here. I think this is where he belongs. But you also live here, and I care about what you think.

Ashley: Okay. He can live here. But I reserve the right to change my mind.

Nick: Hey. Thanks for meeting me.

Sharon: Of course.

Nick: I needed to talk about something. Something I figured out. I didn't want to wait till the morning.

Sharon: What -- what did you figure out?

Nick: Something about being in this park at night. It's like it has a secret, you know? Like it has something to say.

Sharon: But what is it you wanted to say? I want to plant a vegetable garden, you know? Right here. For the town. Residents planting vegetables. I think there's a dozen positive repercussions -- skills, community, education. You know, real farm-to-table experience.

Sharon: That's great, nick. It really is. Um... but why am I here?

Nick: I made a mistake when i had that first new hope meeting without you. I mean, you were the one who came up with the idea in the first place. So when I said I want you to be involved as much as you want or as little, I meant that. So, what do you think?

Sharon: Um, I think it's a wonderful idea. But don't you think that it would make more sense if the garden were closer to one of the new hope buildings?

Nick: Yeah, but I like the visibility of this, you know? A new hope project right in the middle of town. I mean, we could plant the vegetable garden right here. You know, where we were planning on doing the flower bed in honor of katherine. Right where we first broke ground.

Sharon: Well, I'm -- I'm glad you asked me. I am. Um... we should talk. But not here.

Dina: I still don't understand why we haven't met before. You know, I know every handsome face at the club. You must be new.

Kyle: My family's been a member of the club forever.

Dina: Really?

Kyle: But I've been away in new york.

Dina: Ooh, how exciting. You must find coming back to genoa city very boring.

Kyle: Not at all.

Dina: Really?

Kyle: You know what I do to keep things lively?

Dina: Oh, do tell.

Kyle: Play a few holes at the club.

Dina: Ah.

Kyle: Bet some of the members. The egos on these guys!

Dina: Oh, tell me about it.

Kyle: I learned a trick. You bet them every other hole to go par.

Dina: Okay.

Kyle: Their egos take over, they over-hit, I get a pocketful of bills.

Dina: Well. And what do you do with all these ill-gotten gains, hm?

Kyle: Take a beautiful woman out on the town. What else is money for?

Dina: Oh, I see.

Abby: Is any of that true?

Jack: Does it really matter? Look at the smile on her face. Kyle, pack your bags. We're gonna give you the bedroom over the pool.

Kyle: I was betting you'd say that. So I have my bags in the car.

Dina: [ Chuckles ] This one is so cocky. I just adore it.

Ashley: We know.

Kyle: I appreciate it, dad.

Jack: It's gonna be like that a lot. A lot of confusion, a lot of repeated stories.

Kyle: Not a problem.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Ashley: Is everything okay?

Abby: Yeah. It's -- it's better than okay. Dad's being released from the hospital.

Ashley: Oh, great.

Abby: He's on his way home.

Jack: Gee, I wonder when I'm gonna get my text from victor. Thanking me for calling 911 and saving his life.

Ashley: You might have to wait a little while for that kind of gratitude, jack.

Jack: Well, maybe there's something we can do about that wait time.

Abby: How is that a good idea?

Ashley: It's not.

Jack: Hey!

Charlie: Hey, mr. Abbott.

Jack: Charlie. Come on in. Come on in. They're all yours.

Charlie: I came to get the last of the memory cards for your grandmother's video.

Nikki: Well, thank you so much. I can take it from here.

Helen: Well, victor actually asked me to stay for dinner.

Nikki: Did he?

Victor: I want her here.

Nikki: Where are my manners? Can I offer you something to drink?

Helen: Oh, uh, nothing for me, thanks.

Nikki: Dinner for three it is. Won't that be nice.

Lily: Katherine would have loved this -- the plans for a garden and a new town square.

Cane: Oh, she'd have loved it.

Lily: Bringing people together. You know, parties, picnics. Who knows? It could have been J.T. And victoria's wedding here. I mean, of course, victoria wouldn't have invited me, and J.T. Would have insisted. Instead... I still can't believe it.

Cane: I knew something was wrong that night, you know.

Lily: I know. You called it. As soon as you walked in, you were like, something is up with J.T.

Cane: I mean, I thought he was stewing about his breakup with victoria.

Lily: Right. And, of course, when you told me, I was team J.T., Thinking,

of course victoria would end things. That's one of her skills, driving people away.

Cane: I remember J.T. Said he was gonna leave town, and I'd hear things about him. I could believe them or not.

Lily: It's so weird and cryptic.

Cane: And then there was the news of victor, and everything exploded. You know, when I was talking to J.T., I asked him if he cheated on victoria.

Lily: What? Did he?

Cane: He said no. But, you know, I was thinking, what other mistakes could he be talking about? Because what else can you do you can't get past?

Lily: Well, I think trying to kill your fiancé's father would probably fall into that category.

Cane: Um, I wasn't thinking in those terms. I was kind of thinking, um... well, I couldn't see past my own mistakes.

Lily: Hey. That we got through.

Cane: That we got through. Yeah, if I haven't said it lately, I will never deserve you.

Lily: No, we both deserve happiness. We fought for it. We made it happen.

Cane: Yeah. But I'm not sure what J.T. Has done, or what he deserves.

Lily: It's not really our call. You know, sometimes the universe has a funny way of sorting things out.

Phyllis: Hey, what did nick --

Nick: Hey, phyllis. What are you doing here?

Phyllis: Duh. Doughnuts.

Nick: Yeah? 'Cause it looks like you were waiting for sharon.

Phyllis: To put out more doughnuts. Yeah. Okay. I was here when sharon got your text. And it seemed extremely urgent, and I'm nosy, so here I am.

Sharon: Well, um, it was nothing gossip-worthy, phyllis. Nick wants to plant a co-op vegetable garden for the community.

Phyllis: Oh! [ Laughs ] That is noble. That's smart. That is super healthy. And kudos to you, my friend. That is your gift. That is your skill. That's your knack. Just, like, giving to others and caring for them. It's just, you promote all these positive, incredibly good feelings. It's just that is what you were meant to do. Nothing else should ever matter.

Nick: [ Scoffs ] What is wrong with you?

Phyllis: Supporting your idea.

Nick: Yeah, probably a little too much. Look, new hope is my thing. I'm doing it. Why would you question if I was gonna quit on it?

Phyllis: Why?

[ Laughs ] Why?

Nick: Yeah. Do you want to stall a little more? Okay. It's because of J.T., All right? According to the news, he attacked your father, and now he's awol. And as cuddly as you are, you are all about justice and duty. And knowing you the way I do, you're gonna want to track him down and make sure he's in a jail cell.

Nick: Yeah. Well, I can do that and still manage some community service.

Phyllis: Leave it alone, nick. Just...plant tomatoes. Build your apartments. Just leave the cop work to the cops.

Nick: Did the three of you talk about this before?

Phyllis: Who three?

Nick: You, sharon, victoria. You all basically said the exact same thing to me.

Phyllis: Great minds.

Nick: J.T. Tried to murder my dad. Don't you think he needs to pay for that?

Sharon: Yes, we do, nick.

Phyllis: J.T. Is a security specialist. He left the state, and probably the country. Hunting for him is gonna suck the life out of you. And for what? For nothing. I mean, do you really want to waste your time and energy on a hopeless cause? Hi! I'm mike ditka.

Sharon: Here. Something for us to share with the kids when we get home.

Nick: Okay. Meanwhile, I'm gonna swing by the police station and talk to paul, see if they have any leads on J.T.

Phyllis: That's great. Stand over his shoulder while he does his job. That should help.

Nick: I'm just gonna ask him some questions.

Phyllis: Nick, you weren't there that night, at victoria'S. You have no idea what went down.

Sharon: A party. It was just a party. It wasn't a very good one, I admit.

Phyllis: J.T. Tried to murder his fiancée's father. He's a slimeball. He's a freak. And you know who has to live with that? Your sister. Victoria has to deal with the fact that she fell in love with a maniac. And even worse, she had a kid with him. So, yeah, let's all put on our sherlock hats and go hunt him down, bring him to trial, and put victoria through that. Is that what you want? Victor made it, nick. He survived. Just let this go. For victoria's sake. I will guarantee you that she wants to forget that J.T. Ever existed.

Sharon: [ Sighs ]

Phyllis: See? Was that so hard?

Sharon: You look like you need a shower.

Phyllis: Okay, fine. That was hard. You're -- you're freaking out that he's wanting to plant a garden.

Sharon: Oh, you're right, phyllis. There was no reason for me to worry about that at all.

Phyllis: Exactly.

Sharon: Nick just wants to plant lettuce and beans and bell peppers right where J.T. Is buried. Nothing to worry about at all. You're right.

Phyllis: I did my part. Now, this is what teamwork means. It's time for you to pull your weight.

Charlie: Is that the rest of your grandmother's footage?

Abby: That is all of it.

Ashley: You know what, I'd like to take one more look at it, because I think it can be a little tedious, and I don't want to put charlie through that.

Charlie: Oh, it's cool. It's all part of the job.

Ashley: You know what? I just want to look at it one more time.

Abby: Mom, it's okay. Charlie's a pro. Or, he's almost a pro. Here you go. Thank you very much.

Charlie: No problem. Uh, you know, a lot of it's pretty interesting, to be honest.

Abby: Well, we're still very grateful. Thank you.

Charlie: Any time. Bye, guys.

Ashley: Bye.

Kyle: Dina's a character. I can't wait to hear all her stories. A family documentary? The final product is gonna be ratings gold.

Ashley: Hm.

Kyle: I'm gonna go grab my stuff.

Ashley: Okay.

Abby: Mom, how could --

Ashley: What the hell are you thinking? I mean, charlie's gonna look at that footage. He's gonna see dina talking about jack's paternity.

Abby: Or all that footage could be in my pocket, and you could give me a little bit more credit.

Ashley: Oh.

Abby: Oh. Yes.

Ashley: Okay.

Abby: See, this, and only this card, has the crazy story of dina and her lover.

Ashley: Okay. I should have realized. Sorry.

Abby: It's okay. This is all very stressful. But we can do this. We have to do this.

Ashley: Right. Well, you know what, that memory card cannot just be floating around. We've got to get rid of it.

Abby: Agreed. But how?

Ashley: I'm feeling a little chilly. Maybe we should start a fire.

Helen: Well, thank you for dinner. But you need to rest, so I'm gonna go. If you need anything, just text me, okay?

Victor: Thank you, helen.

Nikki: Yes, thank you. We both appreciate how attentive you've been.

[ Doorbell rings ] 'Scuse me. Well! Jack abbott. What are you doing here?

Jack: I heard victor was home. I was hoping I could speak with him, if you think he's up to it.

Nikki: All right.

Jack: Helen. Victor's first night home and you're here?

Victor: She's my guest.

Jack: Yes, both here and at the hospital. I remember. The police were as curious about that as I was. So, who hired you?

Helen: Excuse me?

Jack: To spy on me. Who hired you? Was it victor? Well, the three of you seem so cozy, I guess I have to ask -- is this a team effort? Are you in on this, too, nikki?

Nikki: Jack, I'm afraid you're about to feel rather silly. I don't know anything about helen being a spy. But, as victor said, she is his guest. His very special guest.

[ Sighs ] She's his lover, jack. Yes, your lead chemist and victor are friends with surprising benefits.

Jack: So that's why you came to jabot? To spy on me for victor?

Helen: [ Scoffs ] Victor and I didn't meet until after I had moved to town and took the position at jabot, actually.

Jack: That just tells me that I can't trust your judgment or your loyalty. You know, tomorrow morning, first order of business will be terminating your contract.

Helen: What?!

Victor: I'll make things right for you.

Helen: Okay.

Jack: Wow. Real class, bringing your mistress into your home.

Nikki: Please, don't be indignant for me. It's not like I don't have my own friends, you know.

Jack: An open marriage how cosmopolitan of you. Color me shocked if he ever gives you that leeway.

Nikki: We're equals. Victor knew that I would never agree to some one-sided arrangement. And just to be clear, he is my partner, and I am his. So whatever you may think of this arrangement, it's really irrelevant.

Victor: Jack. What do you want?

Jack: I thought I'd borrow a cup of sugar. And get your undying thanks while I was at it.

Nick: All right. Christian is asleep. Faith is doing her homework. I owe you.

Sharon: You were the one on dad duty. All I did was make dinner.

Nick: It's not just dinner, you know. It's everything. It's my life. These past few months, to say it's been chaotic would not be an understatement. You know, chelsea taking off. Connor somewhere out there in the world. My dad's injuries. Jack in jail for something he didn't do. I got to be honest. I wasn't sure about it, you know? A quiet night at home, it's not nothing. It makes me wonder...

Sharon: Wonder what?

Nick: Maybe phyllis was right.

Sharon: Um, I suppose that could happen once in a while. About what?

Nick: I don't know. Maybe it's enough that J.T. Is far away from my sister. That he can't hurt her. He can't lie to her. He can't come after my dad. Maybe that's enough.

Sharon: That kind of betrayal is really heartbreaking.

Nick: To realize you don't know what someone is capable of... I mean, here's the thing. My dad falling down the stairs, that could have been an accident. But for J.T. To just leave him there, that tells you the kind of person he is. How could he have us all fooled, including victoria, for so long?

Cane: 2018 has been good to us so far. You have your new business. Me at chancellor. I mean, even if the executive suite's been a revolving door. But...

Lily: I know. Billy. J.T.

Cane: Mm.

Lily: When he was living with you, did he say anything about victor? No, I know. Look, I can't imagine him being capable of real violence. It just does not make sense.

Cane: You know, he was tense and on edge, but... did I ever think he'd be dangerous? No. Not for a second. You know, he was more... he was more sad than angry that night, you know?

Lily: So, when he said you could choose to believe what you heard later, was he admitting what he did to victor? Or was he saying that, if victor says it was me, it's not the truth ?

Cane: Well, I wouldn't put it past victor to lie. I mean, especially if it means coming between, you know, his daughter and some interloper. I mean, even if that interloper is her ex.

Lily: Right. That's what makes me wonder. Because the newmans can be twisted, you know, and J.T. Was always such a great guy.

Cane: But you know what is bugging me? Why did J.T. Leave town if he was innocent? And does he ever plan on coming back?

Ashley: We don't have a choice. Nobody can ever hear that particular story about dina or jack ever again.

Kyle: So, is this how we roll here?

Ashley: Uh, hey.

Kyle: Fires on a warm spring night?

Ashley: Did you get all your stuff moved in?

Abby: I-I thought one last fire of the season might be nice.

Ashley: Yeah, it is.

Kyle: After spending the last few years in slick apartments and boutique hotels, I have to agree. Fire's kind of nice.

Ashley: Yeah. So, you don't want to miss out on one of the best things about living here, kyle. That is mrs. Martinez's crème brûléE. Right?

Abby: You are so right. Uh, yes. Let's go get some. Right now. Uh, fire will be here all night. It's not going anywhere.

Victor: Why would I owe you anyth-- anything?

Jack: Oh, I'm sure nikki and the kids have told you, victor. I was the one who found you lying on the floor. Could've walked away. Could've finished the job J.T. Started.

Nikki: Jack --

Jack: No, it's all right. It's all right. He'd have done the same thing for me, right? You would have called 911. Made sure I was still breathing until the emts got there. Instead of a thank-you note, maybe a gift basket, I get arrested.

Victor: What for?

Jack: Well, I took a few liberties while I was saving your life. After I made the call, I went upstairs to rest in your office. Kyle was behaving oddly. Not himself. Victor's influence was fairly apparent. So before I confronted my son, i wanted some proof, and i borrowed your hard drive to look at your e-mails. And guess what I found? Countless correspondences between you and my son. And then, of course, the police found the hard drive in my home, and into a cell I went. You know what? I don't need a thank-you. I'll settle for an answer. What do you want with my son?

Nikki: Oh, my god. I thought you two were beyond this sort of thing. Clearly, I was wrong.

Jack: Nikki, there's something you need to understand here. This had been going on for months. This started in the fall, out of nowhere, the two of them communicating with each other. When you and I were seeing each other. Is that it, victor? I had your wife, so you went after my son? Is that it?

Nick: What happened to the brownies?

Sharon: Uh, faith and christian happened to them.

Nick: Figures.

Sharon: What did you pick out to watch?

Nick: A classic.

It happened one night.

Sharon: Clark gable and claudette colbert.

Nick: Yep. Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo.

Sharon: No, no, no, no, no. You are not going to take all of the chocolate chunks. Not happening.

Nick: It's a spoonful.

Sharon: With three chunks.

Nick: What? You seriously counted?

Sharon: Yes, I did.

Nick: Here.

Sharon: What? You thought I would say,

no, go ahead, nick. Keep it for yourself ?

Nick: Well, yeah. Kind of.

Sharon: Well, I'm sorry. Those days are over.

Nick: Great. Now I'm gonna be counting chunks all night.

Sharon: Whatever it takes to keep you out of trouble. Start the movie.

Nick: [ Sighs ]

Jack: I'm right, aren't I, victor? This latest vendetta is about me having the temerity to spend time with your wife. Your most valued possession.

Nikki: Careful, jack. I am no one's possession.

Jack: Let me fill you in here -- kyle's plan, when I was in jail, was to take jabot public. Who do you think benefited most from that? Who do you think was poised to make a sizeable purchase?

Nikki: You know, I'm sure the two of you could argue about this another time. Not on the same day that victor comes home from the hospital.

Victor: He's just a fool. As al-- always.

Jack: Clearly you're infirm. You need a little rest. Before I leave, let me give you a little warning. I will fight you if you come after my company. I will destroy you if you come after my son. Kyle is and will always be an abbott. Are we clear?

Victor: [ Muttering ]

Jack: Good night, nikki.

Nikki: Good night.

[ Log scrapes loudly ]

[ Shovel grates ]
