Episode #11385 ~ Nick vows to protect Victoria, Neil challenges Devon, and Nikki makes a power move.

Provided By Suzanne

Previously on "the young and the restless"...

Devon: Let's do our own company. Something that's profitable but also puts something positive back into the world.

Neil: Just because you put up the lion's share of the money doesn't give you carte blanche to do whatever you want. You should have consulted with me on this.

Victoria: We can't just pretend that it didn't happen. J.T.'S upstairs, and he's dead.

Nick: I think I'll check in with vick tomorrow, see if i can, uh, press her for some straight answers as to why they split.

Jack: As you can see, I am legally free and unencumbered, ready to resume my work as C.E.O. Of jabot. First order of business is withdrawing my son's motion. Now get out of my chair.

Kyle: Dad. I've been waiting for you.

Jack: Have you?

Kyle: It's your first day back as C.E.O. I wanted to be here for your triumphant return.

Jack: My triumphant return was yesterday when I stopped you from taking jabot public. Today, it's business as usual. Good to be back where I belong, though I'm sure you don't share that sentiment.

Kyle: Not true. I'm here to help you play catch-up.

Jack: I got that handled, thanks.

Kyle: You sure?

Jack: Very.

Victoria: You left my dad on the ground to die? You're the one who turned off his ventilator! You tried to murder my father?

[ Victoria and J.T. Grunting ]

[ Slap ] Get away from me! Stay away! Get out! [ Screams ]

[ Screaming ]

Nikki: I know where we could bury J.T. Right in the middle of town. The garden at chancellor park.

[ Dirt crumbling ]

[ Elevator bell dings ]

Devon: What are you doing?

Lily: Well, you heard dad yesterday. He wants hilary to start working from the studio. So I'm just making the move quicker.

Devon: It's not a done deal, though.

Lily: What, you think he's gonna change his mind just because she might be pregnant?

Neil: He won't and he doesn't want to discuss that topic this morning.

Devon: Then what would you like to discuss this morning?

Neil: The expenditure report. I got a chance to review it in detail last night.

Devon: Oh, good. Did it put your mind at ease to see that I didn't run hamilton-winters in the ground while you were gone?

Lily: Dad, he did a great job. You really should be proud.

Neil: I am. It was a lot for you take on. It was, and I admire your efforts. But too much has changed since I've been gone, and not for the better. Things are gonna be really different around here starting right now.

Abby: Victoria? What are you doing here?

Victoria: Working.

Ashley: Abby and I thought that you would take some time off considering everything that happened with J.T.

Victoria: No, I'm not. I'm sorry to disappoint you both.

Abby: We're not trying to start something.

Ashley: We're very concerned about you.

Victoria: Yes, I do have a lot going on. But with J.T. Gone, I have plenty of time and energy to devote to taking care of the company in dad's absence, and that's exactly what I'm gonna do.

Billy: Hey, man.

Nick: Hey, what's up? Lizzy, can I get a coffee, please?

Billy: Thank you. How's, uh -- how's victor doing?

Nick: You know, he's getting stronger every day. Wish I could say the same for victoria. I mean, I don't get it. We've known J.T. For years. How can he even be capable of something like this?

Billy: I have no idea. Right when they got together, i thought it was a bad idea.

Nick: You did? Did you say anything?

Billy: Yeah. I told victoria as soon as they moved in together, I thought they were moving too fast.

Nick: What'd she say?

Billy: She said that she'd never been this happy or sure of anything in years. So I took her word and I backed off. Not in a million years did i think that things would get this out of control.

Nick: J.T. Fooled everybody.

Billy: Well, at least she had the smarts to get rid of him when she did.

Nick: Yeah, she, uh... she ended that relationship before she found out that J.T. Attacked dad. Do you have any idea why she walked away?

Billy: She didn't say anything to me, and I didn't push.

Nick: Huh.

Billy: Your, uh, wheels are spinning there, man. What's going on? What are you thinking?

Nick: I just -- I know we're not getting the whole story. And I want to know why.

Jack: Gloria, I know you're away on a trip healing from the way you were treated by kyle. Call me as soon as you get this message, okay? I'm back in the driver's seat. I need a trusted co-pilot. Hope you get this message. Oh. The new receptionist just lets you walk right in? Easy to see where her loyalties lie.

Kyle: If she announced me, would you have let me in? She's the best. That's why I brought her here with me from new york. Give her a chance. While you're at it, give me a chance because I think you have some pre-conceived notions about why I'm here. I'd like to clear that up.

Jack: Kyle, this isn't a good time. I have kind of a busy day. Maybe later?

Kyle: Sure. Later.

Jack: Kyle, wait. On second thought, maybe I can squeeze you in.

Abby: Throwing yourself back into work, it might seem like a good idea, but it's not. You need time to process everything that happened without the pressure of balance sheets and annual reports.

Victoria: I appreciate your concern, but I'm fine.

Ashley: Abby's right. First and foremost, you have to take care of yourself.

Victoria: I can do that while I take care of my family's business.

Ashley: I don't want to argue with you, especially under the circumstances. But if you're determined to come back to work, it's not gonna be as acting C.E.O. Victor's memo was clear, you've been demoted, and I have seniority.

Victoria: [ Scoffs ] Yes, my father did draft that memo, but it never got sent to hr, therefore, it's not valid. And until he makes his wishes explicitly clear, I will be sitting behind that desk letting the whole world know that nothing and nobody can keep a newman down.

Ashley: There's a simple solution. Let's just go see your father, all right? He can communicate now.

Victoria: We're not gonna do that. We are not gonna disturb my father while he's recovering. He's already been through enough as it is. I belong in this office. End of story.

Nikki: Good, you're both here. Abby, give us the room, please.

Abby: Excuse me?

Nikki: I have something important to discuss with victoria and your mother.

Abby: Well, if it's newman business, I should stay. I am an executive.

Nikki: This doesn't concern you. Please close the door on your way out.

Ashley: It's okay, honey. I'm sorry. It's okay.

Abby: [ Scoffs ]

Ashley: So...what's this about?

Nikki: I have an important announcement.

Ashley: Regarding?

Nikki: The future of newman enterprises.

Lily: My scouting trip to new york was a huge success. I met a lot of energetic, eclectic, bold models who i think will command attention in print and digital. And they can be spokespeople for other hamilton-winters divisions and products, as well. So it's synergy in action.

Neil: I look forward to seeing you build this division into something that we'll all be proud of.

Devon: So, what exactly were you talking about when you said things are gonna be different around here?

Neil: Um, I think, first, that we're gonna --

Hilary: [ Scoffs ] Well, what is this? A senior executive meeting? Funny, I didn't get a call or a text or an e-mail.

Neil: That's because this is a meeting for family and board members, which you are neither.

Hilary: Well, I may not be, but this, uh, bundle of joy that I could be carrying is your grandchild and heir to hamilton-winters. So I think that checks at least one of your boxes. And until this kid is old enough, you better damn well believe that I'll be looking out for his best interest. Which means I'm staying.

Hilary: I am part of this company, and my input is just as important as everyone else's here. If not more.

Lily: I know you didn't mean me.

Neil: Lily, come on, now. I got this. Okay, look, child or no child, you have absolutely no say in how this company is to be run.

Hilary: If you would set aside your bias against me, you would see that I have a lot to contribute, okay? I pitched a very successful idea to lp. He's sending all of his artists on tour together.

Lily: Oh, yeah, simone. Simone, she loved that one.

Hilary: Anyway, I have tons of ideas that are just as innovative and can prove lucrative for this company.

Neil: We don't need your ideas, we don't need your input. I think you ought to get back to gc buzz.

Hilary: Well, there is a production meeting that I should attend.

Neil: Hilary. You better get going. You don't want to be late.

Lily: Bye. God, dad, the way you handle her, it's just -- it's amazing.

Neil: From now on, we're gonna leave our personal feelings on the other side of that door. When we're in this office, the company comes first. I want this company to be the gold standard of how a family business should be run, and i plan to set the example.

Lily: Yeah, well, count me in, dad. I love your new vision, and i can't wait to see what we create together.

Neil: See that? Listen to her. That's what I'm talking about. Thank you.

Lily: Okay, well, I better get going. You're still free to meet later, right?

Neil: Yes, I wouldn't miss it.

Lily: Okay, bye.

Neil: So, what about you, junior? Are you down with my vision?

Devon: No. Not at all. Neil, you and I are supposed to be equal partners, right? But since you've been back, all you've been doing is patronizing me and talking to me like I'm a subordinate, and I don't like it. Then you gave a real nice speech about leaving personal feelings out of this company, but you were real quick to call me out on wanting to have a baby with hilary. And even thought I'm your son, it doesn't mean that you can dictate how I run my life or this business.

Kyle: I -- I don't know where to start. But I feel like if we're going to move past this, we need to clear the air.

Jack: I don't understand how this wedge came so firmly between us.

Kyle: I laid out the reasons when I came to see you in jail.

Jack: Yes, your resentment long-buried over your childhood, your feeling that I kicked you to the curb in favor of phyllis, your disgust at how I treated ashley, using the "blood abbott" amendment against her, your perception of my failures as a C.E.O., Making several ego-fueled decisions. Have I left anything out?

Kyle: Don't forget, I apologized for piling all that on during the next visit and tried to reassure you i wanted to do right by jabot, but you seemed skeptical. And you still are.

Jack: Can you blame me, kyle? We were in a good place when you left for new york. We were talking, you were sharing with me. Freely. Both the good and the bad. Something -- or someone -- changed all of that. Instead of coming to me, instead of confronting me, you came here gunning for me. Like I was the enemy and not your father. You want to clear the air? Tell me why you made that move.

Nick: So phyllis was at that all-girls party thing, right? Did she say anything about it?

Billy: No, she didn't say much, but they were up late hanging out, talking, and drinking.

Nick: They weren't all up late. Mariah passed out in the den, had a pretty wicked hangover.

Billy: You know, I got to say, on paper, I thought this little get-together was gonna be a disaster, but it turns out that phyllis, sharon, and victoria have actually become closer through all this.

Nick: Crazy, right?

Billy: Yeah. Although, I think it's good timing. It's been years since victoria had a group of lady friends around, and I think she could use the support right about now.

Nick: Well, I know my mom's gonna be there for her, but she needs more than just shoulders to lean on, you know? She needs answers, she need closure. The whole family does. Nobody is gonna get that with J.T. Still missing.

Nikki: Victor came me explicit instructions on how he would like the company to be run in the foreseeable future. Now, this may not be what you're expecting.

Ashley: Well, I assume that he heard about victoria's deception and he's not happy about it and he wants me to be interim C.E.O.

Nikki: Actually, no.

Victoria: Because he wants a newman in charge and not an abbott.

Ashley: This abbott has been more loyal to victor and newman enterprises than his heir apparent.

Nikki: All right, enough. Let me finish. Victoria will not be taking over, either.

Victoria: If not one of us, then...

Ashley: Who?

Nikki: Me. Today, we're out here with some surprising facts

Billy: Has the manhunt for J.T. Turned up anything?

Nick: Nope. Not a lead. Not anything.

Billy: Well, it's only been a few days. I know paul and his team were all over it. They'll track him down and you'll get just for you and your family.

Nick: Wish I had your confidence.

Nikki: Surprised? Astonished? Flabbergasted? Those are the words pinballing through your heads, am I right?

Ashley: You haven't been involved in the day-to-day operations for a very long time.

Nikki: But I am a board member, and I am up to date on the quarterly reports and major projects we have in the pipeline. I won't merely be a figurehead. I'll be steering the ship. I'm more than qualified to lead this company. I was C.E.O. Of jabot and co-owner of nvp retreats. So if you have any doubts, cannot give me your complete support, there's the door. Thank you. Victor will be pleased. Now, I would appreciate it if you would compile a list of the most pressing matters that i need to attend to.

Ashley: You got it.

Nikki: You've been awfully quiet. Are you all right with this?

Victoria: Honestly, no.

Neil: My intention is not to take over. But, see, the fact remains that you still have a lot to learn.

Devon: Yeah, and I'm not arguing that. And I'm not calling you out, either, for the way you left town because, of course, family comes first. But I think I did a pretty damn good job at stepping up while you were gone and taking care of this company.

Neil: Yeah, and I love your ambition, but, see, I'm concerned that you didn't see the bigger picture. That's probably because you've been splitting your time between running this company and -- for the life of me, I don't quite comprehend -- deciding to have a baby with hilary. I -- I don't understand how you could even consider that. I mean, this is a lady that's gone to great lengths to destroy our family. And, yet, you want to tie yourself to her for the rest of your life.

Devon: I'm not looking to get back into a relationship with hilary. That's not what's happening. All right? I just wanted to be a father, which is why we had a legal arrangement drawn up. Now, do I regret that? Yeah, I do. But with any luck, hilary won't be pregnant and we can go about as being colleagues again.

Neil: I guess that's what we're hoping for, isn't it? But what if she is pregnant?

Devon: Well, there's no point in discussing this. We don't know -- there's no what-ifs. We don't know anything for a fact yet, and I don't need to sit here and be lectured by my father who's had more than his fair share of mistakes in life.

Neil: Hey, devon, come on, man, that's not --

Kyle: The truth is gonna hurt. You sure that's what you want?

Jack: Yes, more than anything, I want the truth.

Kyle: You're not the enemy, but you're not the man I thought you were, either.

Jack: Kyle, why did you go behind my back? Why not just come to me?

Kyle: Why didn't you come to me? If you valued our relationship so much, why didn't you reach out for my support or advice? The only time I heard from you was at your convenience or if you needed my vote as a board member. Maybe you're more like dina than you want to believe.

Jack: I realize I have not been the perfect father. I know that. But I always wanted you in my life.

Kyle: Maybe so, but you distanced yourself both personally and professionally. You seemed interested in grooming me for the top spot at jabot, but that was a long time ago. Instead of doing anything about it, bringing me in the fold, you seem perfectly happy to keep me away from home base.

Jack: No, that wasn't a conscious choice. Kyle, I thought you were happy working in new york.

Kyle: Sounds like you assumed a lot of things about me that weren't true. Good thing about being away from the action, it gives you clarity. Makes you open your eyes, realize no one's gonna look out for you. So you have to do it yourself. Fight for what you believe in.

Jack: Even if that means fighting with me.

Kyle: Yeah. Even then.

Charlie: So, what's the big surprise?

Lily: You'll see. Be patient.

Mattie: Our first period's almost over.

Lily: I know.

Neil: Hey. Sorry, I got held up.

Mattie: Grandpa!

Charlie: You're back!

Neil: Oh, how you doing, beautiful? What's up, handsome? It's so, so good to see you both.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Hi.

Mattie: How's sofia?

Neil: Oh, she's better than ever.

Charlie: Cool.

Neil: Yeah, she's very thankful for the cards and the texts that you sent her. That was cool.

Mattie: I wish there was more we could have done.

Neil: I heard that you really held it down at hamilton-winters while I was gone, and that -- that was a big help in itself.

Mattie: We're just interns.

Neil: For now. One day, you're gonna be running the joint.

Charlie: You think so?

Neil: I know so.

Mattie: But, first, we have to make it through our junior year.

Neil: Right, and then, uh, your senior year.

Lily: Yep, and then college.

Charlie: Unless you want to bypass all that, make us execs, and give us a six-figure salary now.

Neil: Okay, how about I throw in a limo and a private jet?

[ Laughter ]

Mattie: Oh, I hate to have to do this, but charlie and i really need to get back to school.

Charlie: Come on. We haven't seen grandpa in forever.

Lily: Don't worry, we're gonna get together soon, okay?

Neil: No grandkid of mine is gonna skip out on school. Not on my watch.

[ Laughter ] All right, you two.

Lily: Bye, guys.

Mattie: I'm glad you're back.

Neil: Yeah, me, too, beautiful girl. Mm.

Charlie: All right, granddad. See you later.

Neil: Yeah, you count on it. Oh, hey, wait. Mattie, charlie. I just want you to know how proud I am of you for juggling your education and your responsibilities at hamilton-winters. The future is yours for the taking, you hear me?

Mattie: Thank you.

Charlie: Well, watch out, world, the ashby twins are on their way up.

Neil: There we go. That's what I like to hear.

Lily: Bye.

Neil: Later.

Mattie: Bye!

Lily: Aww. What you said to the twins was very, very sweet.

Neil: Well, I was just speaking the truth, you know? I love see them thrive just like I love seeing how happy you are with cane and your career. You know you're about to blow up, right?

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Neil: See, now, hold on. I'm gonna be there every step of the way, if you let me.

Lily: Of course.

Neil: In order for this company to succeed, we need to have trust in each other. You know? Keep an open line of communication, especially when we have any kind of problem.

Lily: I'm guessing devon wasn't as receptive to your new vision?

Neil: Well, we talked. He walked out. I guess that's a good example of a breakdown in communication.

Lily: Dad, it's okay. He'll come around.

Neil: Mm, as long as hilary's in the picture, it's gonna be an uphill battle.

Lily: Look, I know, she's a hot-button issue for all of us, you know, but to keep the peace at the office, I will try harder to not let her get under my skin. It's just -- it's hard, you know? As soon as she comes around, i feel this constant need to protect devon.

Neil: Yeah, I know, I know. I feel the exact same way. But, listen, I need you -- seriously, I need you to step back, focus on your goals. Let me handle hilary.

Devon: I thought you'd be at the studio.

Hilary: I figured I'd hit the gym first.

Devon: Which is code for -- you want to catch me alone.

Hilary: I know that you were upset with me earlier. Maybe I crossed a line.

Devon: Maybe you crossed a line? Are you ever going to stop screwing things up for me? Because you keep trying to tank my relationship with simone, and now you're going out of your way to try and stir up trouble with neil by dropping the bomb on him yesterday that you could be pregnant and then rubbing it in his face today.

Hilary: No, I wasn't trying to cause trouble for you, okay? I just -- I want to be a part of this company.

Devon: So, again, it's just about what you want. That's cool.

Hilary: No, devon, wait.

Devon: I don't want to hear it, hilary.

Victoria: The idea of coming back to newman and running the company while dad can'T...

[ Sighs ] It was a lifeline to me.

Nikki: You are your father's daughter. Work has always been an escape for life's troubles for him, as well.

Victoria: It's more than that. I wanted to be in charge because... I love this company. And I was hoping that I could prove to dad that he could trust me again. Obviously that's too soon for him. I can't say I blame him.

Nikki: Darling, your father will forgive you. He knows how important you are to newman. My tenure as C.E.O. Is a stop-gap. But when I weighed the pros and cons, I thought that was the best option -- that way, ashley is not running our family business. And, quite frankly, darling, i don't know that you're in the right frame of mind to take on the role of C.E.O. Right now. I saw how you snapped at ashley.

Victoria: Ashley is like a dog with a bone when it comes to that demotion memo.

Nikki: You and I know it's more than that. You suffered a terrible trauma. Trying to keep a lid on that kind of thing is taking its toll. You need time to come to terms with it.

Victoria: You experienced that trauma with me. You physically stopped J.T. From hurting me and you covered it up with us. Are you sure that you can handle this job and live with all that?

Nikki: I can and I will. And I will be as strong as i need to be for both of us.

Jack: If you were worried about protecting jabot, why turn to victor, of all people, for an ally? That man would like nothing more than to swallow this company whole and spit me out. Or -- or is that what you wanted to have happen?

Kyle: Not at all. The only thing victor's done is offered up some free advice.

Jack: Manipulation disguised as advice, I think you mean.

Kyle: There you go again, second-guessing me! Like you did when I wanted to take jabot public. I still believe that's the best thing for the company.

Jack: It would leave us vulnerable to a hostile takeover. Not just from victor, from someone else! Kyle, I've made this mistake before! We lost control of jabot! I'm not gonna let that happen again! No, we could possibly lose the family company.

Kyle: After the way you've been running things, it doesn't feel much like a family company.

Jack: I have plans to remedy that.

Kyle: I hope you keep your word this time.

Jack: Lanie in r&d is waiting for me, um... I'm glad we had this talk.

Kyle: Me, too. I need you to come to jabot. Right away.

Abby: Nikki?

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Abby: Nikki is taking over newman enterprises?

Ashley: I had the same exact reaction.

Billy: Hello, one of my favorite abbott siblings and my favorite abbott-newman hybrid.

Abby: Hi, billy.

Ashley: Did kyle call you, too?

Billy: He did, but he didn't fill me in. Anybody know what's going on?

Abby: No.

Ashley: No idea.

Kyle: Good. You're all here. Just in time.

Nick: Hey. Thanks for waiting for me.

Victoria: Your text sounded urgent. What's going on?

Nick: Yeah, look, I'm sorry to catch you off guard, but i have a lot of questions about what went down between you and J.T. And where he might be.

Hilary: Neil.

Neil: No. No. I'm not dealing with you.

Hilary: Okay, neil, please! Stop!

Neil: Yeah, what do you want?

Hilary: I want to apologize, okay? My -- my emotions have been all over the place, and I think maybe you could understand.

Neil: Hormones?

Hilary: Possibly. But whether I'm pregnant or not, we will still be working together, and I do want our professional relationship to be civil and productive, okay? So maybe we could just... just start over.

Neil: You are very... very good. But this act isn't gonna work with me.

Hilary: What act?

Neil: Listen, lady... now that I'm back, I'm gonna be watching your every move. Now, if you step out of line or you hurt anyone that I love, you can kiss your job goodbye.

Jack: What's going on here?

Abby: A get-together in your honor.

Ashley: Organized by your son.

Billy: Surprise.

Kyle: The man of the hour has arrived, ladies and gentlemen. Please, gather around. I'd like to say a few words. Dad, seeing you standing there, out of jail, cleared of all charges, the only thing that would make me happier is if the rangers won the stanley cup this year. We may not always see eye to eye... but we do have a lot in common. Like, a love for this family. Love for the company. And I want to help you take it to new heights. I want us to stand side by side as we celebrate and build upon the great legacy my beloved grandfather john abbott founded. So, please, join me in raising your glasses to jack abbott, to the future.

Neil: You came back.

Devon: I come in peace, too.

Neil: Have a seat. Let's talk.

Devon: [ Sighs ] I, uh, went for a walk in chancellor park.

[ Sighs ] And, you know, every time that I go there, I can feel katherine's spirit. Some days, like today, I feel it even stronger. She always knows when I need a good kick in the butt. I just want to apologize to you for the way I walked out when we got into it about hilary. It's tough sometimes, to hear someone call out your mistakes. Especially when it's things that I've been beating up myself for already.

Neil: 'Cause you've been keeping it a secret? Is that why you're having doubts?

Devon: Yeah, and I knew how you'd react to it.

Neil: I'm sorry, son. I should have been more sensitive.

Devon: No, you don't really have to be sorry for anything because you were blindsided.

Neil: Now that is an understatement. I may not approve of your methods, but with a potential baby on the way, you got my support, man, 100%.

Devon: I really appreciate you saying that. Does that mean that I can, uh, go ahead and call you for diaper duty, huh?

Neil: [ Chuckles ] Of course you had to go right to that, didn't you? Hey. Regarding hamilton-winters, I want us to be a true team. I don't want you ever to feel like I am talking down to you. I respect you a lot. I will never forget that you were the one who put up the capital to start this venture. You were the one who invited me to join.

Devon: Let me tell you, i know that we wouldn't be nearly as successful if it wasn't for your guidance. And that's something that I will work very hard to never forget. I really missed having you around, man.

Neil: Not half as much as i missed you.

Jack: Nice words.

Kyle: It was a 10 on the sincerity scale. 11, in fact.

Jack: Yeah? Even with everything you said earlier?

Kyle: We have to get everything out in the open in order for us to move forward, right? That was the point of my "welcome back" speech. And it was from the heart. I do want to start over. Here. Genoa city.

Jack: You're moving back?

Kyle: Remember when you gave me the compass for my birthday? The one from grandpa john? You hoped it would always help me "know my true north." Being here with our family, working side by side with you at jabot, that is my true north. So, if you'll have me... I'd like to stay and prove it to you.

Jack: Let's give it a shot.

Kyle: You won't regret this, pop.

Abby: Can you believe kyle's throwing a party after the stunt he pulled yesterday?

Ashley: What matters is that jack is back and he'll keep kyle on a very tight leash.

Abby: And to think, we were this close to revealing jack's true paternity.

Ashley: Well, now that order's been restored, that secret has to remain buried. For the sake of the family and the company, nobody can ever find out.

Billy: It was quite the performance.

Jack: Yeah, it was, and i didn't believe a word of it. It kills me that I can't trust him. But I still believe victor's gotten to him, turned him against me.

Billy: So, what are you gonna do, fire him and send him back to new york?

Jack: He's my son. Walking away from that relationship is not one of the options. I truly, truly want to repair all the damage done, and to do that, I'll have to keep him close and give him a chance to prove his loyalty. I could use some help.

Billy: Don't worry, I'll keep my eyes and ears open. I don't see him very often, but I'll do what I can.

Jack: I could remedy that situation -- that is, if you're willing to do another tour of duty at jabot.

Billy: Jack, what are you gonna do, offer me a job?

Jack: You know what, spending what seemed like an eternity in an 8x10 cell had one perk -- it gave me time to reflect. On my life. On my family. My mistakes. My hopes for us. I've decided it's time to put "family" back into the family company. What do you say, billy?

Billy: Me back at jabot? I never thought that would happen again.

Jack: Is that a yes?

Billy: You better believe it.

Jack: Welcome back.

Victoria: I told you everything that you need to know about why I broke up with J.T.

Nick: No, there's got to be something you forgot, some small detail that will help us track J.T. Down.

Victoria: Yeah, I did leave something out. I left out how humiliated I am and what a fool I am for not realizing what kind of man he was sooner.

Nick: Vick, come on. You're not a fool, okay? I'm sorry to dredge up these feelings. I'm just trying to get a grip on what happened.

Victoria: I know you have a lot of questions, nick. I have a lot of questions, too. I just want to get on with my life and I want to just take care of my children. That's all.

Nick: How are they dealing?

Victoria: Johnny and katie are way too young. This isn't gonna affect them very much, but reed is furious.

[ Sighs ] One minute, we're in paradise, and then the next...

Nick: Does reed know that J.T.'S the one who attacked dad?

Victoria: He went off on me, so mom shut him down by telling him. He was crushed. I had to tell him that he was probably never gonna hear from his father again.

Nick: I cannot stand it that J.T. Gets away with this scot-free, and you're left here to pick up the pieces. Did he give you any indication at all of where he might go?

Victoria: I know it's frustrating, but let's just let the police handle this. Paul is doing his very best to find J.T.

Nick: Yeah, but is he? Aren't paul and J.T. Really good friends?

Victoria: Nick, please, come on. The minute that paul heard what J.T. Did to dad, he put out a warrant for his arrest, he put out an apb.

Nick: But J.T. Was able to disappear without a trace.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Who cares? He's gone, okay? He's gone! That's all that matters.

Nick: No, what matters here is that J.T. Is found and suffers for what he's done.

Victoria: You're sounding so much like dad.

Nick: After seeing the way our family's been hurt, maybe taking a page out of dad's playbook is the way to go here.

Victoria: What does that even mean?

Nick: It means I will not rest until J.T. Is found and punished. And if the police can't do their job, I'll find J.T. myself.
