Episode #11366 ~ Victor issues J.T. an ultimatum; Dina reveals a secret; sparks fly between Nick and Sharon.
Provided By Suzanne
Previously on "the young and the restless"...Dina: Well, I understand you want to preserve my memories.
Abby: I, uh, thought it might be something that you'd enjoy. But if you don't feel up to it --
Dina: Oh, I do. And believe you me, I -- I have some stories to tell.
Nick: Real-estate listings? Is that for mariah? Is she finally gonna look for a place of her own?
Sharon: Nope. You are.
Jack: Manipulating your own daughter, convincing her she had to fight for a job she'd already earned.
Victor: At least she had the guts to own up to what she did!
Nikki: Enough. Enough!
Victor: You're a coward!
Arturo: Mr. Abbott, please!
Jack: I cannot wait until the day you drop dead!
J.T.: You okay? You know I'm sorry, right?
Victoria: You have to go.
J.T.: Marry me.
Victoria: A-all of this, it'S...
J.T.: This is... this is us. This is you and me. It's the -- it's the good part. It's the best part.
Victoria: I just -- I...
J.T.: Tell me.
Victoria: I just need some time.
J.T.: [ Sighs ] All right. I'll be right here.
Victor: So, congratulations. I think your affordable-housing project is off to a very good start.
Nikki: Well, please don't feel obligated to come to the next meeting.
Victor: Jack abbott was out of line.
Nikki: Victor, you goaded him.
Victor: He came after me. Next time he does that, I'll teach him a lesson he will never forget. He can't win against me.
[ Door slams, rattles ]
Abby: What's wrong?
Ashley: Mother's napping. I thought you had a meeting with nikki.
Jack: It's over. Victor insinuated himself into the proceedings. He brings nothing to the table but ugliness and sneers, acting like he owns everything and everyone in town. Oh, and kudos for bolstering his ego.
Ashley: Because I work at newman now? You know what, don't go there. If you got into it with victor, that's on you, jack, not me.
Jack: Oh, that's right. I have much bigger issues to focus on right now -- like the fact that my own sister is suing me.
Abby: Okay, if dina hears you, it's gonna set her off, so can you just not do this right now?
Ashley: Abby's right. Lawsuit or not, we have to learn to live together.
Jack: Really? If mother didn't need full-time care, right now I would be at a hotel.
Nick: Okay. Little man is down for the count. I got a text from faith. She told me to tell you that your meatballs are way better than cammie's mom's, but she did eat a couple of them just to be polite.
Sharon: Hm? Oh, good.
Nick: Are you taking off somewhere? I feel like we should talk about the elephant in the room. Like why do you really want me to move out? Oh, manatees. Aka "the sea cow."
Nick: Did I do something wrong? It's not a punishment, nick. And I didn't mean that you have to move out tomorrow.
Nick: Yeah, just that I need to find my own place. Which I understand. But the why matters to me. So if I did something...
Sharon: You know, it's two adults living under the same roof with too much history, and things were bound to come up. So let's just not overthink it, please.
Nick: So, if nothing happened, this is just a decision that you made...
Sharon: To be proactive.
Nick: But of what? If I haven't ticked you off, or you're not expecting me to, or, heaven forbid, you're afraid that I'm gonna hurt you...
Sharon: You know what, nick, I'm -- I'm late. I'm sorry.
Jack: S.O.B. Was delighted to rub in my face the fact that you've gone over to the dark side. You gave him the ammo, now he's firing at will.
Ashley: You know what, I'm kind of confused, jack. Who do you actually hate? Is it me or victor?
Abby: Don't blame my mom for your mistakes. If you would just own up to the stuff that you pulled --
Jack: I accept that I made an error with the "blood abbott" clause. I have apologized. I have repeatedly offered to rectify it. But your mother here was all too happy to run to victor's side. How long am I gonna have to pay for one wrong move?
Ashley: [ Laughs ] You're paying? Is that what's happening here?
Abby: Okay --
Ashley: You're paying?
Abby: Now is not the time to play victim. You can say that that role was all about blocking phyllis or any other non-abbott spouses, but how did you not even think about my mom?
Ashley: Because you only think about yourself. That's the truth. You know what? This went one of two ways. Either you realized that I did deserve to be C.E.O., And because you're power-hungry, you had to block it, or it never occurred to you that I could be in charge. Because you just assumed that you would always be in charge. Either way, it's always about you. I'm so very sorry that you pushing me out of jabot allowed victor the right to sneer at you. But you know what? Look on the bright side -- you are a blood abbott. You are one of the precious few. You're king of the hill.
Jack: Oh, yeah. I'm so lucky. Tell me how lucky I am. My mother has dementia, newman and chancellor are one-upping my company, and I've all but lost you and abby.
Ashley: You didn't lose me. You forced me out.
Abby: Okay, please. Please just stop, okay? If dina hears you -- she doesn't need this.
Ashley: You're right. You're right. Why don't you and I go up and see if dina's awake, and maybe she can tell us some more stories about the good old days.
Jack: [ Stammers ] You're just gonna walk away? We're not done here!
J.T.: Well, since you can't see what the rest of the world sees, let me tell you. They see a woman who couldn't hold on to a screw-up like billy abbott, who ran her company into the ground with one bad decision after the next, who face-planted on live tv because of some cheap product she came up with.
Victoria: I don't need to hear this. I've been dumped on enough for one day.
J.T.: No, no, no, no, no. You need to hear the truth. And since I'm the only one who has the guts to tell you, I'm gonna lay it out for you beat by beat. Reed moves back in town, and he comes in with you, and -- and what? Instantly hits the skids, complete with a D.U.I. So let's rehash this. Failed executive. Bad mother. Even worse wife. And that is not even to mention all the daddy issues you have.
Nick: Yeah, so, two-bedroom. Actually, no. Three-bedroom. I have a tween who stays with me half the time.
[ Chuckles ] Yeah. Yeah. Um... so, free-standing would be ideal, but an apartment works, too. It just has to be available immediately. That's the key.
Mariah: [ Shuts door loudly ] What the hell?
Nick: Um, you know what, can I call you right back? Yeah. I'll call you right back. Thank you.
Mariah: So, you're bailing. Nice. Okay. Great. Good to know.
Nick: I'm not bailing. Sharon asked me to, you know, look for my own place.
Mariah: Sharon asked you to look for your own place? As in -- move out.
Nick: Yeah. So that's what I'm doing.
Mariah: What'd you do to her?
Nick: Huh?
Mariah: What'd you do to make sharon want you gone?
Nick: [ Sighs ] You know, I have no clue.
Mariah: Well, come on. Let's put your thinking cap on, genius. Let's figure out how you screwed up.
Dina: Tell me, how's my makeup? I think I smudged it a little bit while I was resting.
Ashley: You look gorgeous. Camera-ready, as they say.
Dina: He can't be here. John. I'm sorry, dear, but this is ladies only.
Jack: I'm not jo-- I'm -- I'm not going to interfere. I-I'm just gonna finish my drink and watch the movie magic.
Dina: Oh, well, no, no. You -- you can't do that. No. I have to be free so that I can speak openly, but how can i do that with him watching?
Jack: You know I adore you, dina. Nothing you say is going to change that.
Dina: Well, then why are you being so stubborn?
Jack: Because this is my home.
Dina: Well, you don't have to snap at me.
Ashley: I just think he's got some things on his mind and it's making him a little edgy.
Jack: Yeah, you bet I do. Family. Company. You know what? I'm gonna get a cab. God forbid I should be in the way here.
Dina: [ Exclaims ] I've never seen him so short-tempered. Something must really be bothering him.
Ashley: Yeah. I think you're absolutely right.
J.T.: [ Sighs ] You okay?
Victoria: Yeah. Just that today's been a little intense.
[ Sighs ] Never felt like that before. Not even close.
J.T.: Yeah, and when we made up... we never had that kind of passion before, either.
Victoria: It was frightening, J.T.
J.T.: No, it was exciting. It was exhilarating. Come on. Nobody has what we have, all right? Most people are sleep-walking through life. Not us. No. We're wide awake. Every second. You're never gonna have anything close to this with anybody else. You know that, right?
Victoria: I do.
J.T.: [ Sighs ] Well, is, uh... is that a response to my proposal?
Victoria: It was a kiss.
J.T.: Mm, it sounded like an answer.
Victoria: I didn't say one word.
J.T.: All right. Then I want to hear your answer. Marry me.
Victoria: Yes. Yes.
J.T.: This is everything I've ever wanted.
Victoria: It's everything I've ever wanted, too.
Feel the clarity
of non-drowsy
Sharon: Is this seat taken?
Jack: Depends. You here to give me a hard time? Pick a fight? File a lawsuit?
Sharon: Not today. Not against you.
Jack: Then be my guest.
Sharon: That's some mood you're in.
Jack: If that's gonna be a problem...
Sharon: [ Sighs ] No. It's actually a relief. Cheerful small talk is not my thing at the moment.
Jack: Your usual? White wine?
Sharon: Vodka tonic.
Jack: Okay, then. Vodka tonic for the lady. Want to tell me what's wrong?
Sharon: I asked nick to move out.
Jack: To move out? Nick is living with you? Look, I've been out of town. I apparently missed quite a lot. Why on earth would you ever ask him to move in with you?
Sharon: I was being helpful.
Jack: And can I assume what everyone would think would happen, happened?
Sharon: Nothing happened.
Jack: Ah, I see. And there's the rub.
Sharon: Do I need to find another seat?
Jack: No, no, no. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I mean, with everything that you and nick have been through, i guess it's natural that you'd feel something for each other.
Sharon: If that's why you think I'm here, you're wrong.
Jack: It's okay to be angry.
Sharon: I just said something else happened, okay? You know, as petty and pointless as it may seem, I've just come too far to be taken for granted. And I hate the assumption that I'm just willing to give and give without getting some kind of recognition.
Jack: Did you tell nick that?
Sharon: I couldn'T.
Jack: Why not?
Sharon: Because what's the point? As angry as I am with him, I'm furious with myself.
J.T.: You know what we need? We need to have a dinner with reed and the kids, you know, and -- and tell them. We got to tell them.
Victoria: We don't need to rush that. Maybe we can just sort of, I don't know, ease them into it a little?
J.T.: What, you don't want them to see how in love we are? Come on.
Victoria: Johnny and katie adore you, they do.
J.T.: Yeah, and reed will be cool with it -- even though he's, uh...
Victoria: A teenager.
J.T.: Yeah. He's a teenager.
Victoria: Well, I could cook dinner. Or maybe we should just order in. But I could make us a cake.
J.T.: Well, it's, uh -- it's not a birthday.
Victoria: I know, but we need something to -- to mark the occasion. Don't you think? I might have an idea.
J.T.: Uh, you gonna share that idea with me or...?
Victoria: You know what, it's better if I show you. Okay? I'll be right back.
J.T.: Huh.
[ Footsteps approach ]
Victor: What has got you so happy?
Nick: Oh, there you are. I was just gonna come up and tell you I'm gonna leave for town. Don't wait up. I-I might take a room for the night.
Victor: All right.
Nikki: Okay. I'm gonna go pack a bag.
Victor: Okay.
[ Cellphone rings ]
J.T.: Hey, victor. What can I do for you?
Victor: I want you to come to my office tomorrow morning, and we'll discuss security protocol, all right?
J.T.: Okay. Just name the time. I'll be there.
Victor: 9:00 A.M.
J.T.: All right. See you then.
Victor: Now, wait a minute. On second thought, I'm leaving for chicago tonight. I may not be back until about 11:00. How's that?
J.T.: Sure. Yeah. Absolutely. I'll see you then. And, uh, have a safe trip.
[ Footsteps approach ]
J.T.: Mm, mm-hmm. Mwah!
Victoria: [ Laughing ] J.T.!
J.T.: I can't help myself.
Victoria: Well, anyway, since you didn't like the cake idea...
J.T.: Mm-hmm?
Victoria: ...What about this?
J.T.: Aww. You still have it.
Victoria: I couldn't let it go.
J.T.: Don't let it go, and I will never let you go. Give me your hand.
[ Both chuckle ]
[ Cellphone chimes ]
Victoria: It might be billy about the kids.
J.T.: Go for it. Yeah.
Victoria: [ Sighs ] It's my mom. Oh! She wants to stop by. It's okay. I'll just tell her that we already have plans.
J.T.: That's all right. Let her come.
Victoria: Now?
J.T.: Sure. It'll, uh, give me a chance to go get some champagne so we can properly celebrate.
Victoria: Okay.
[ Cellphone rings ]
Victor: Yes? Send it to me immediately. Yep. (Cat 1) friskies world...
Ashley: All right. Call me if you need me. Mwah! I love you, honey. Bye.
Abby: Love you. So, um, dina. Heh. Are you up for some more or should we call it a night?
Dina: Oh, no, no, no. I'm just getting started. Everyone has gone, and I have a few things to get off my chest about john.
Mariah: Now think. What did you do?
Nick: [ Sighs ] Honestly, I don't know. And I would have thought that sharon would be excited for me today. I mean, we had a very big meeting for the housing project.
Mariah: "We" as in you and sharon?
Nick: No, "we" as in me, my mom, devon, jack, and victor. And we got a lot accomplished even though victor was there.
Mariah: So no sharon?
Nick: No. I mean, she has so much going on. She's got school, the coffeehouse, faith, you --
Mariah: Okay, hold on. Hold on. So, sharon, the woman who took strangers into her home so they'd have a place to stay, she was your inspiration, as the song goes, and you traipsed off to your meeting, leaving her home alone.
Nick: [ Clucks tongue ] Yeah, that sounds bad.
Mariah: Yeah. Really bad.
Nick: [ Sighs ] Can I fix it?
Mariah: Sure as heck better try.
Sharon: Enough about nick. I'm done. That's it. Your turn. You vent. I'll listen.
Jack: I came here to drink, not to talk.
Sharon: Well, that's not a good sign.
Jack: It is what it is.
Sharon: I'll assume this is about victor?
Jack: Now, why would you say that?
Sharon: Because even when it's not about victor, with you, it's always about victor.
Jack: [ Chuckles ] Ain't that the truth. Even when I'm trying to do something nice for the community, he somehow makes what I'm doing [Inhales sharply] Ugly and annoying.
Sharon: Can't you just ignore him?
Jack: You know, I think i liked it better when we were talking about nick moving in with you.
Sharon: It's true. We're not very different. Instinctively, I tend to gravitate back to nick, just like you always aim at victor.
Jack: He's a bully. He's a self-absorbed egomaniac. He's a son of a bitch.
Sharon: Who cares? I mean it. Who cares? Victor is who he is. Remember when you stopped obsessing on him? When you decided not to focus all your energy there? Wasn't life better?
Jack: That's exactly how i got here. I let my guard down. I stopped focusing on what was really happening. I can fight back. What about those people who get sucked in, chewed up, spit out. Lured to the dark side.
Sharon: Who are you talking about?
Jack: I just have one question -- when is that bastard gonna finally get what's coming to him?
[ Doorbell rings ]
Nikki: Hi, darling.
Victoria: Hi! Come in.
Nikki: I thought I'd just come over and say hello. Are you sure you're not busy?
Victoria: I'm so glad you're here. No, no. Please come in. Can I get you some tea?
Nikki: Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa. What does this mean?
Victoria: Uh... it means be happy for me?
Victor: Upstairs. Now.
Nikki: Well, I can see you're pleased about this. But don't you think it's a little bit rushed?
Victoria: Mom, it's not as if J.T. And I just met. We do share a teenage son together.
Nikki: Yes, that is true. But a lot has happened since you had reed. Other marriages. Other relationships. In fact, just a few months ago, J.T. Was with mackenzie. If paul had not asked J.T. To come back to investigate newman, would you two even be in touch with each other? I mean, it just seems to me like this whole thing is happenstance.
Victoria: I don't know. Maybe it's fate. Maybe it's the power of the universe that brought us back together.
[ Chuckles ] I don't know, mom. J.T. Showed up, and it's like... it's like somebody just turned on the lights. You know, everything's just much more sharp.
Victoria: And I have this constant rush of energy and excitement. You know, I just never know what's gonna happen next.
Nikki: I know what it's like to be attracted to a powerful man. And it's easy to lose yourself in a relationship like that.
Victoria: I'm not lost, mom. I'm learning what I need, and I'm learning who I can trust. It's true. If I had confided in J.T. About this ridiculous deal that I made with jack to set up ashley, none of this would have happened in the first place. If I had just listened to what he had to say, then -- then i would have pulled back.
Nikki: Maybe for some reason you didn't feel like you could speak your mind to him.
Victoria: Well, if I didn't, then I know I can now. J.T. Is the one person that I know I can trust to tell me the truth.
Nikki: Well, you've always been so independent. I know it's been a difficult year for you. And for a while there, it looked like you and billy might work things out. And I know what a terrible time it was for you when you almost lost brash & sassy.
Victoria: Why are you bringing those up now?
Nikki: Honey, I'm just suggesting that maybe you feel a little vulnerable after these last few months, and that you needed someone to lean on.
Victoria: Well, isn't that what people do? They lean on the people that they love.
Nikki: Up to a point.
Victoria: Look, mom, J.T. Makes me so happy. I know that I can count on him, and I know that I can trust him. And I don't need you telling me otherwise.
J.T.: [ Sighs ] So I guess you're not on your way to chicago. This was all a setup.
Victor: So, you really think you could break into my safe without me knowing?
J.T.: I guess I got a little careless, but I always had the guilty party in my sights.
Victor: You weren't careless. You were stupid. You don't even know what you're up against, do you?
J.T.: What is that?
Victor: That's you putting hands on my daughter.
J.T.: That is one second of a fight we had --
Victor: That's you placing hands on victoria!
J.T.: Who do you think you are? Putting cameras in my house? Spying on my family? How long have you been spying on my family?
Victor: How long? As long as you have been spying on newman enterprises. Trying to find dirt on my company. Trying to find dirt on me. Trying to take me down! Who are you working for? Paul williams? Christine williams? They've tried for years to find something on me so they can prosecute me.
J.T.: It was a pleasure trying to take you out, working right underneath your nose. In your office. At your home. At your dinner table.
[ Sighs ] It's time for you to pay for your past sins, victor.
Victor: This almost sounds personal.
J.T.: You don't even think about her, do you? Colleen? It doesn't bother you at all that she's dead because of you, does it?
Victor: This is pathetic. You're hiding behind a dead girl. Only a weak man would use that. Only a weak man would go after my daughter and rough her up. I got a solution for you. You pack your things tonight. You get the hell out of town. Or I'll remove you myself.
Jack: Oh. Getting one last text off to the boss? "X-o, x-O."
Ashley: I'm ordering you a car, jack. You need to go home and sleep this off.
Jack: You're not my boss. I don't answer to you.
Ashley: I still care about you. I'm your sister. In spite of the fact that you've been treating me horribly. I have a feeling you've got a very low tolerance because you haven't had this much to drink in a long time.
[ Jack grumbles ] And I'm looking out for you.
Jack: Oh, this from the woman who's suing me and working for the enemy.
Ashley: Stop it. Pull it together. You're sloppy, and you're about to make a scene. Be the man you're supposed to be -- john abbott's son.
Jack: What if I can't? What if he set the bar too high?
Ashley: What is going on with you? Are you just wallowing in self-pity? Why? Because that sleazy con of yours backfired in your face?
Jack: I guess I'll have to work harder next time.
Ashley: Do you even hear yourself right now?
Jack: Oh, here it comes, folks. Here it comes. "Dad would be ashamed of you."
Ashley: I don't have to say it, because you know it. But, jack, I still see greatness in you, somewhere in there. Unless you've drowned it with booze and your rage against your old enemies.
Jack: One enemy. One enemy.
Ashley: Oh, let it go.
Jack: He will destroy everything.
Ashley: Let it go.
Jack: He will ruin you.
Ashley: I can handle myself, jack.
Jack: He will ruin you. He will ruin me. He will ruin us.
Ashley: You shut it right now. I am gonna leave you here, and you can embarrass yourself.
Jack: You go to that building, he signs your checks. You sold yourself!
Ashley: Stop it, damn it!
Jack: As long as that man is on this planet, I will have a battle to fight.
Ashley: What are you doing?
Jack: And it's about time I start winning.
Ashley: What the hell are you doing?
Jack: I am getting a cab. I am getting out of here before I create a scene and sully the abbott name.
Ashley: Are you going to victor's? Jack, what are you doing?
Jack: What do you think?
Dina: And then there was another time -- I asked john for my wrap. And he had attached a lovely brooch to it, and he was waiting for me to notice. And he was always doing lovely things like that back then.
Abby: Romantic gestures?
Dina: Well, in one way, I guess so. We were growing closer. But... all I could feel is...
Abby: What?
Dina: Guilty.
Abby: Guilty? Why does it make you feel guilty?
Dina: Because I've taken him for granted more than once. And it's all so shameful. You don't think john will be coming back, do you?
Abby: No, no. He knows that you need some more time. Um... can you help me understand? If you -- if you know that john deserves better, well, then, why did you spend time with other men?
Dina: Because I needed more. And then that need led me to do terrible things and keep terrible secrets. And that shame, I will take to my grave.
Abby: You don't think john already knows?
Dina: John doesn't know everything. He can'T. Not this.
Nick: You're back.
Sharon: I am.
Nick: So, I talked to mariah. It turns out I'm a giant idiot. Of course you should have been at that housing meeting. And you will be at the next one, and every one after that. You can be as involved in any capacity as you want. It is your call.
Sharon: Nick, you don't have to... it's okay.
Nick: Look, I screwed up, okay? I never stopped to look at this day from your point of view. The thing is, is you're not the way you used to be. You've changed. And I need to catch up.
Sharon: It's not just you, nick. I...have my own issues. And it was unfair for me to tell you to just go move out without giving you a decent reason.
Nick: You went above and beyond when you invited christian and me to move into your place. And you didn't just give us a place to stay. You gave us support. You made sure that little boy wasn't gonna be alone. You made sure I wasn't gonna be alone. That means a lot to me. You know that. I do not take you for granted. At all.
Abby: I'm sorry, dina. The camera went out of focus. Um... do you want to stop?
Dina: Well... not yet. Perhaps soon.
Abby: Okay. Um... well, then, can we go back to what you said before? Something that john doesn't know. Are -- are you talking about brent davis? How he's ashley's father?
Dina: No. John clearly knows about that by now. This has nothing to do with brent or ashley.
Abby: So there's something that john still hasn't learned?
Dina: I've had multiple affairs. With many...consequences. But there's one I have kept secret. For good reason.
Abby: Can you elaborate?
Dina: When I was younger, I needed more than john could ever give me. Heh... more than I ever bargained for.
Abby: I-I don't understand.
Dina: I'm talking about jack, can't you see that? Jack is the consequence. Jack is not john's son.
[ Heartbeat pounding faintly ]
Victor: This is victor newman. Please leave a message.
[ Voicemail beeps ]
Ashley: Victor, it's ashley. I just wanted to tell you that I-I think that jack is heading your way. And I'm warning you, he's been drinking, and he's very angry.
[ Heartbeat intensifies ]
Victor: What are you still doing here?
J.T.: My question is, why should I run? What can you do to me, victor? Tell victoria to stay away from me? She's not gonna listen to you. I know you're used to being the most important man in her life, but that's me now. In fact, after that little video you saw, we got engaged.
Victor: Really.
J.T.: Yeah. Which means you've lost. I know that's a new concept for you, but you'll get used to it.
Victor: Let me tell you something. Victoria will always stand with her family. However, if you decide to stay in this town, you will lose everything. I'll see to it you lose victoria, you lose reed, you lose your job, you lose custody of your children. And I will see to it personally that the rest of your life will be spent in absolute misery! You lost. Because you're a loser.
J.T.: I'm warning you --
Victor: I don't give a damn whether you warn me. You are a loser! Always will be!
[ J.T. Grunting ]
[ J.T. Shouts ]
[ Heartbeat intensifies ]
Nikki: Arturo? I'm here.
Victoria: J.T., Are you on your way? I thought you'd be back with the champagne by now.
[ Heartbeat pounding ]
[ J.T. And victor grunting ]
[ Both grunting, struggling ]
