Lily: Me running my own modeling agency isn't laughable?

Devon: You know the business from every angle, you have a name in the industry, and respect and goodwill are key, so I know you're gonna do right by our clients.

Lily: You are looking at a new, glamorous branch of hamilton-winters.

Devon: I want to be a father.

Hilary: Thank you.

Devon: This isn't about you and me getting back together. I will be your sperm donor. But you and I won't be sharing our lives together.

Victoria: That information was leaked, and ashley is the only possible source. You're gonna confirm that.

J.T.: Okay, then I'm with you. I'll start my investigation right away.

Victor: You're fired.

Abby: It took me two hours to prove that jack and victoria set her up. See for yourself.

Victor: Ashley was right. Victoria had been scheming all along with jack abbott. She lied to you and to me.

Nikki: Well, hi, sweetheart. It's always lovely to see you.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] Maybe not today.

Nikki: Why do you say that?

Victoria: I screwed up. In a big way.

Nikki: Well, honey, whatever it is --

Victoria: I'm sure that dad told you that I convinced him to fire ashley for funneling inside information from newman to jabot?

Nikki: Yes, of course.

Victoria: Well, ashley didn't give jack that information.

Nikki: Well, somebody else at newman?

Victoria: I gave those documents to jack. I did it.

Nikki: Why would you do that? Why would you hurt our family, our company?

Victoria: Why would you steal money from dad's bank account?

Nikki: He hurt me, and I was retaliating.

Victoria: [ Sighs ]

Nikki: Honey, what did ashley do to hurt you?

Victoria: She wanted what I had. Ever since she came back to newman, she's been gunning to be first in line for dad's job.

Nikki: Well, you talked to your father about that.

Victoria: He sees it as a health competition. He claims that it would be good for ashley and me.

Nikki: I don't understand why you let her get to you. I mean [Scoffs] You've never been like this, especially when it comes to your business, your career.

Victoria: Maybe the disaster that brash & sassy was last year has something to do with it. I don't know.

Nikki: Honey, look at the strides you have made since then. You are C.O.O. Of newman enterprises.

Victoria: Yes, I know. Well, now I'm just waiting for dad to fire me.

Nikki: He is never going to fire you.

Victoria: He has fired people for less. Much less.

Victor: She's not answering?

J.T.: I'm sure there's a reason. Maybe she's driving.

Victor: Or she's feeling guilty.

J.T.: You know, victoria would not frame ashley.

Victor: Oh, yeah? J.T., I can show you evidence that abby brought me. Evidence that proves that victoria made many a phone call to jack abbott.

J.T.: Okay, look, victoria has never liked ashley. But for her to make it look like she was spying on newman enterprises? I mean, how -- how could she even pull that off? You know, when I found that evidence in jack's office, it was --

Victor: Too easy to find? As if it had been planted? You've been used, son.

J.T.: I-I got to talk to victoria, 'cause this -- this doesn't make sense. Wh-- why would she do this behind my back? I would be her greatest resource. She would've told me about it. She would've brought me in. We don't keep secrets from each other.

Victor: Well, J.T., If you believe that, then you are not the pro that I thought you were.

Abby: I wish you could have seen the showdown I just had with victoria. Not only did I defend you, I put my sister on notice. I told her I am not letting her push me around anymore. I'm gonna make dad see me as victoria's equal. I am.

Ashley: [ Laughs ] Look, honey, maybe it won't even be an issue. You know what I told your father -- I'll go back to newman if he fires her.

Abby: Wow. Dad firing victoria? Mm, I wish we could get that on camera. It would go viral, and i would enjoy every second of it.

Ashley: Don't get too excited. The more time that goes by, the less chance there is that your father's gonna actually take that step.

Abby: Well, dad can't afford to lose you. You've worked at newman for a while now. You know too much.

Ashley: Honey, it didn't stop him from believing that I shared corporate secrets with jack. He fired me. And he's always had a soft spot for victoria.

Abby: Well, maybe he's just taking this time to confer with his marketing team. You know, figure out how to deal with all the bad P.R. That comes with ditching victoria.

Ashley: You really think so?

Abby: He didn't flat-out refuse your demand to fire her, right?

Ashley: No, but the clock is ticking. I'm getting a very bad sense of déjà vu. It's just like jabot. Maybe I'm fighting a battle that I have absolutely no chance of winning.

Lily: Mm. I should probably start dinner.

Cane: Do you want to order in?

Lily: Uh --

[ Cellphone chimes ] Ooh, that could be the kids.

Cane: Uh, hey, do you want some wine?

Lily: Sure.

[ Exclaims ] Devon just texted me that I can start work at hamilton-winters tomorrow.

Cane: Wow! He works fast.

Lily: Yeah, I know. I thought it wouldn't be until next week. I love my brother.

Cane: Hey, you know you deserve this, right? Do you, uh -- do you want to go now and thank him personally?

Lily: Do you mind?

Cane: No, I don't mind.

Lily: Oh! You are the best husband ever. Okay. I'll see you in a bit.

Cane: All right, baby. I love you. Hey, it's, uh -- it's me. There's been a change in plans.

Hilary: Heh. I found this in the fridge. And I can't think of a better reason to celebrate than the two of us agreeing to create a baby.

Devon: Non-romantically.

Hilary: Co-parents. Of course. But this is gonna be our baby. So he or she, they're gonna inherit our best qualities.

Devon: What about our worst?

Hilary: Okay, we can't think about that. This child is gonna have looks and brains, ambition...

Devon: Oh, yeah. Kindness and a sense of humor.

Hilary: Yes, yes. All of the above.

Hilary: It's everything I've ever wanted.

Devon: Well, you better enjoy this champagne, then, because pretty soon you're gonna have to forego.

Hilary: I don't mind the sacrifice. What's wrong?

Devon: Nothing's wrong. I was just... I just realized that if we are gonna create a baby together, then we need to do it the right way. Oh, manatees. Aka "the sea cow."

Devon: Hey, thanks again for agreeing to come on such short notice.

Hilary: What was that about?

Lily: Hi.

Devon: Hey.

Lily: So, which desk is mine?

Devon: Actually, it's --

Hilary: Why would you have a desk here?

Lily: Oh, I see my brother's keeping you out of the loop again. Smart man.

Hilary: Desk?

Devon: Yeah. Lily is launching a new modeling agency.

Lily: Yeah. As part of hamilton-winters. And I can't wait to get started.

Hilary: Heh... when did -- did this happen?

Devon: Happened recently, actually, and I couldn't be happier. Because now that my sister is a part of hamilton-winters, this really becomes more of a family business. And I thought we would do some remodeling. So, in honor of you joining us, I'm gonna have this whole wall pushed back, and you'll still be in the office, but you'll have your own designated area. The contractors are coming later today. They'll finish the job overnight. Should be good to go. What do you think?

Lily: I love it! Thank you so much.

Devon: Yeah? You're very welcome.

Hilary: [ Chuckles ] No, but that's -- that's right opposite me. That's right in my eyeline.

Lily: Uh, I'm sorry. You work at gc buzz. Why do you need a desk here?

Devon: She doesn't have a desk here officially, she just -- she co-opted one herself. It's more of a hot-desk situation.

Hilary: My presence at hamilton-winters goes beyond my talk show. I have a very important role at this company.

Devon: Right. And now so does lily.

Lily: Yeah. Starting with my own agency.

Hilary: Well, I suppose it makes sense. I haven't seen you on any billboards lately. Now that newman has absorbed brash & sassy, they're probably phasing you out as the face of the company. But it's -- it's really nice of your brother to create a job for you.

Devon: That's not --

Lily: Yeah, it was my idea to start the agency, just like it was my idea to leave newman enterprises.

Hilary: So you could play at being an agent?

Lily: Oh, I'll be doing a lot more than that here.

Hilary: [ Scoffs ] What is she talking about?

Devon: Lily's joining the board of directors.

Victor: [ Sighs ]

J.T.: Here's the data you requested.

Victor: Okay. Any news from victoria?

J.T.: Not yet.

Victor: Isn't that interesting.

J.T.: Whatever abby dredged up, she got it wrong. I know victoria. And even if she framed ashley -- which is a big "if" as far as I'm concerned -- she only did it because she was following your example.

Victor: Oh, so I'm the culprit. Is that it?

J.T.: How many times have you bent or broken the rules to get a leg up on competition? And how many times have you gotten away with it? Of course victoria would think she can do the same thing.

Victor: I will allow you to review the evidence against victoria.

J.T.: Phone calls don't mean anything to me.

Victor: There were a series of phone calls, and she set up another woman to take the blame. Namely, ashley. Now, because I love my daughter, because I trust her, I let things slide by. I was caught off guard. What she did is, she gave away secrets. So, she played me just like she played you. (Cat 1) friskies world...

Hilary: What qualifies lily to be on the board of hamilton-winters and not me? My show is a valuable asset and a proven commodity. I mean, lily may have had some success as a model --

Lily: Oh, I'm sorry, "may have"?

Hilary: ...But she has no experience running her own company. Okay, why does she deserve a seat on the board?

Lily: Uh, maybe because the company's name is hamilton-winters, and I am and always will be a winters, whereas you no longer are, and never will be again.

Hilary: Well, I believe that devon and I will always be a part of each other's lives. Oh, my gosh! They are beautiful!

[ Gasps ] Thank you!

[ Laughing ] Thank you! Aww! Here. I'm gonna get you a little something. Here you go. Thank you so much. "Just a little something to celebrate this momentous occasion." Thank you. [ Laughs ] I would say that you shouldn't have, but I am thrilled that you did.

Devon: I didn'T.

Hilary: Then who...?

Devon: Did you read the signature? "So proud of you. All my love... cane."

Lily: [ Gasps ] Oh! That is so sweet! Oh, I'll just put these where they belong. Oh, my god! They're so pretty! [ Laughs ]

Devon: They are nice.

Victor: Is this your attempt to launch a preemptive strike? To make sure that your mother is on your side?

Nikki: She came to me for comfort, that's all.

Victoria: Mom, you don't have to speak for me. I set this in motion, and I will now deal with the fallout. Dad, I want to apologize for lying to you, and for putting you in such a horrible position with ashley.

Victor: So, what am i supposed to do with that?

Victoria: I was hoping that it would make you less disappointed in me.

Victor: What about ashley? You could have ruined her career. Have you ever thought about that?

Victoria: I think that ashley came to newman for all of the wrong reasons. I knew she'd always be welcome back at jabot, and whatever damage she suffered would be quickly undone.

Victor: That is what jack abbott led you to believe, and you couldn't be more wrong.

Victoria: I don't think so.

Victor: Do you honestly think ashley will return to jabot after what he has done to her? After he cast her aside and then betrayed her?

Victoria: He's her brother. Sometimes love can make us forgive things that seem unforgivable.

Nikki: Victoria has said that she is willing to do anything she can to make things right.

Victoria: I am. Whatever you need me to do.

Victor: I hope you mean that. You're gonna have to prove it.

Cane: Thought I might hear from you.

Lily: Thank you for the flowers.

Cane: You know, I had them scheduled to arrive on your first day, but I, uh... I thought I should send them early.

Lily: That must have cost you a fortune. But they are beautiful.

Cane: You know, um, you deserve this. I'm proud of you.

Lily: Oh, thank you.

[ Knock on door ]

Michael: Hey.

Devon: Hey.

[ Sighs ] Michael, thank you for coming, man.

Michael: Sure. I assume you and hilary are having some kind of contractual dispute?

Devon: Not exactly, no. Why don't you have a seat.

Michael: All right. If you remember, I -- I cautioned against you and hilary going back into business together. As ex-spouses, I mean, if you couldn't make a marriage work, how could you possibly make a business relationship work?

Hilary: I'll have you know that we are doing just fine.

Michael: Huh. So why am I here?

Devon: Because hilary and i are about to expand on our partnership.

Michael: Oh. So you're gonna make another tv show?

Hilary: I'm gonna make a baby with devon.

Michael: So you're getting back together.

Devon: No. We're not reuniting as a couple. But we both want to have a child, which is why we called you. 'Cause we want you to negotiate a deal for us to co-parent point by point.

Michael: Wow.

Devon: Yeah.

Michael: Okay. I -- I did not expect that.

[ Chuckles ] Right. Well. Um... so, what will this, uh, deal include? Things like, um, how much time each of you gets to spend with the child?

Devon: Exactly. What last name the baby's gonna have.

Michael: All right.

Hilary: Financial issues, of course.

Devon: And the quicker we can knock this out, the sooner we can be parents.

Michael: Okay. Okay. Let's -- let's start from the beginning so I have some idea how to approach this.

Devon: Sure.

Michael: Um, how are you planning to conceive the child? Will it be via artificial insemination or the old-fashioned way?

Lily: You're having a baby with hilary? Are you out of your mind?

Abby: How's dina?

Ashley: She's resting.

Abby: You know, I was thinking later, maybe, if she felt up to it, we could --

[ Doorbell rings ] Are you expecting someone?

Ashley: No. The next nurse isn't due for a couple hours.

Abby: Hmm.

Ashley: Thank you.

Abby: Mm-hmm. If you're looking to get another job from jack, you're out of luck. Your co-conspirator is in europe on a business trip.

Victor: We came to see your mother.

Ashley: Maybe you could have called first?

Victor: Would you have agreed to see us? I thought not.

Abby: What's this about?

Victor: Oh, darling, would you give us some privacy, please?

Abby: [ Scoffs ] Oh, sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just the one who found all the evidence of victoria's scheme. Why should I be included now?

Ashley: Abby. Please.

Abby: Fine. I'm used to it.

Ashley: Well.

Victoria: I want to apologize.

Ashley: Well, that's a switch.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I've had a tumultuous year. I almost lost brash & sassy. I re-joined newman enterprises. And when dad suddenly --

Ashley: Okay, let's just stop you right there. I mean, if you're here offering excuses, I'm just not interested.

Victoria: You're right. There is no excuse for doing something so appalling and spiteful.

Ashley: And unscrupulous.

Victoria: Yes. I don't know why I'm trying to attach a higher meaning to what I did. My actions... I was --

Ashley: You were threatened. "Threatened" is the word you're looking for.

Victoria: Oh, good. So you understand. You must have felt the same way about me.

Ashley: No. That's why I didn't try to ruin you.

Victoria: You undermined me. You challenged my decisions. You criticized me in front of my staff.

Victor: I think we are getting off topic now.

Victoria: Are we really? You tried to ruin me, too. You just went the long way around.

Ashley: You know what I'm hearing here? She's just sorry that her plan backfired.

Victoria: I regret so much more than that. I wish I could go back to your first day at newman and view you as my father did -- a brilliant chemist, an executive with skills that would strengthen our company. But I... I instead acted like a childish, vindictive brat. I am embarrassed that i sank so low, and I am mortified that I forgot who I am. That I would have to stoop to lying to prove that I'm better than you. I'm sorry. I truly am. Come back to newman. Bring your best game, and I'll bring mine.

Ashley: I'm still waiting.

Victoria: For?

Ashley: An authentic apology.

Victoria: I told you --

Ashley: You're hiding behind this patronizing speech, victoria. Own what you did. You wanted me out. The cost didn't matter. You went behind your father's back. You colluded with his worst enemy. That's how much you wanted me gone. You wanted to humiliate me. You wanted to destroy my reputation.

Victoria: I didn't think about that. I didn't think --

Ashley: Oh, I think you thought about it a lot, actually. I think you spent a lot of time thinking about this plan that you were hatching. You know, the most astonishing thing to me is that a person that's supposed to be as intelligent as you could exhibit such a poor lack of judgment. I mean, you were willing to risk everything for this silly act of revenge.

Victoria: You're right. As much as I hate to say it. I'm sorry. I truly am.

Ashley: Still not buying it.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] What more do you want me to say? Are you so petty that you'd like me to beg?

Ashley: I can be petty. I can be petty. But I think that having you beg would just be pointless, because I'm pretty sure begging would be just as disingenuous as your apology.

Victoria: I tried.

Ashley: And failed. Because you're so arrogant. You don't think that your actions ever have consequences.

Victor: Ashley, I assure you that from now on, I will not allow victoria to ever step over the line again in regards to you. And if you are willing to come back to newman, I will reconsider your compensation package and give you a bonus.

Ashley: That's very generous, victor. It's not what I want. It's not what I accept.

Victoria: I don't understand.

Ashley: I already told your father, I'm happy to return to newman...

Victoria: Good. Then I --

Ashley: ...If he fires you. Your choice. Her or me. This puppy had nothing

Devon: I understand what we're doing is unconventional. But hilary and I aren't getting back together.

Lily: Does she know that?

Hilary: Devon and i are in agreement.

Lily: Yeah, I'm gonna assume this was your idea.

Devon: This was our idea. I want this. I've been spending a lot of time lately with charlie and mattie and sam, and it's made me realize that I am ready to be a father.

Michael: But not married.

Devon: No, not married, because I've seen plenty of marriages end in disaster, including my own. And I don't have a special woman in my life right now, so why am I gonna wait?

Lily: I can think of a few reasons. You're a billionaire who didn't let the money corrupt him, which means you have a good heart. There are thousands of women who would jump at the chance to love you and have a family with you. So why go into this weird arrangement with your ex-wife?

Devon: Because I'm ready to.

Michael: There are other ways to parent.

Lily: Devon, you were in the foster-care system. Why don't you foster a child or adopt one? I mean, anything -- anything, please, but have a baby with hilary.

Hilary: Can we just hold on here?

Lily: Did you forget that she made a tape of juliet? The one that could have proven months ago that cane was innocent of sexual harassment? But she held onto it.

Hilary: Which I totally regret --

Lily: Do you think someone who would do that would be a good mother?

Hilary: Yes, because I am a good person.

Michael: [ Chuckles ]

Lily: [ Scoffs ] I-I'm sorry. Are you hearing yourself?

Hilary: I don't need you to list the people that I hurt, okay, or all the harm that i did, because I remember my failings all too well. But I did not make cane cheat on you. And I did not make cane lie to you. Okay? So does that mean that cane can't be a good father? He can't raise children?

Devon: We don't need to do this. We don't need to do this. We don't need to rehash the past, okay? Lily, I understand that you're just trying to look out for me, and I appreciate it. I really do. But honestly, the only thing I need from you is just to be happy for me.

Lily: Oh, I'm very happy. I am happy that hilary is not pregnant yet. And maybe when dad gets back in town, he can talk to you.

Devon: I don't need neil's advice about this.

Lily: Look, I know I'm being overprotective. I understand that. But I can't help but feel that she wants to have a baby with you to position herself in your life forever.

Cane: I'm gonna make your mom's favorite meal tonight. I'm gonna do it from scratch, 'cause that way it's gonna mean more to her, and I'd love for you guys to help me out, okay?

Charlie: I vote for pizza.

Mattie: Actually, I'm with dad on this one.

Cane: Thank you, sweetheart. And get your feet off the sofa.

Charlie: You're kidding me. Ugh.

Mattie: I'm proud of mom for getting her new business. Aren't you?

Charlie: Of course I am. It's just... it's where she's doing it.

Cane: What, you're upset she's gonna work at hamilton-winters group with you or what?

Charlie: Yeah. Overnight, my very cool internship with uncle devon will be downgraded to very uncool.

Cane: I think your mom's gonna be too concerned about doing a good job to be looking over your shoulder.

Mattie: I think you're missing the big picture. What's mom's business?

Charlie: Modeling agency. Oh! [ Laughs ]

Mattie: Yeah, einstein. Not only are you gonna be surrounded by singers and producers, now you're gonna be surrounded by gorgeous models.

Charlie: I'm liking that.

Mattie: You're so self-centered.

Charlie: And?

Mattie: Why can't you just be pleased for mom? You saw how stressed and miserable she was at newman. She'll be so much happier on her own.

Charlie: Well, that's only if she survives dad's cooking.

[ Laughs ]

Cane: Hey! Hey. Come on, let's go.

Abby: [ Sighs ] Excuse me. Martini, dry. Thanks.

J.T.: Bad day?

Abby: Of all the bars in this town. Mm. You know, I am -- I'm so not in the mood for any issues.

J.T.: Huh. Well, why is me having a drink an issue?

Abby: Did you hear about victoria?

J.T.: Oh, you mean her botched plan to frame your mom?

Abby: Well, the rest of the story is, I'm the one who outed victoria.

J.T.: Oh, no. I heard. I heard. Yeah, you're the evidence gatherer.

Abby: Thanks.

J.T.: You know, I'm, uh, a little surprised you threw your sister under the bus.

Abby: I was looking out for my mother. And if victoria hadn't concocted the whole scheme, there wouldn't be a bus.

J.T.: And I wouldn't be collateral damage.

Abby: You?

J.T.: Oh, yeah. Uh, victor threw me off the investigation because of my connection to victoria.

Abby: Obviously. You live with victoria. Of course you'd cover for her. Hey, maybe you were even in on it the whole time.

J.T.: You know, I had nothing to do with it. Victoria kept it from me.

Abby: If you say so.

J.T.: Yeah, victoria creates this mess, and I'm the one who takes the hit? Heh. That's just great.

Lily: Hey.

Cane: Hey.

Lily: What's going on in there?

Cane: Oh, not much. Just making your favorite dinner.

Charlie: And we didn't even blow up the kitchen.

[ Laughter ]

Mattie: I'm so proud of you!

Lily: Oh, thank you.

Charlie: Yeah. Me too.

Lily: Really?

Charlie: Mm-hmm.

Lily: Aw. I thought you wouldn't want to share your work space with me.

Mattie: He didn't until he realized he'd be surrounded by models.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Cane: Uh, guys, can you, uh, go and check on sam for me?

Charlie: Yeah, I just did. He's fine.

Mattie: That's code for they want to be alone. Duh.

Cane: Hey.

Lily: Hey.

Cane: So, uh, was there a problem at the office?

Lily: Uh, yeah. With devon. He's about to make the biggest mistake of his life.

Michael: Devon, your sister brought up some valid points. Does this change your mind about anything?

Hilary: I need to make something clear. I am not doing this to get devon's money. Okay? The plan was for me to pay for everything 100%. And I can still do that.

Devon: Yeah, but you and i already talked about this, and I'm taking full responsibility for our child.

Hilary: I want you to put in the contract that I get zero child support.

Devon: Hilary --

Hilary: And devon and I will split the cost 50/50. Does that work for you?

Devon: Yeah. Yeah. Nanny costs, schooling costs, and everything.

Michael: All right. Duly noted.

Devon: You know, one of the perks of having a family business is being able to pass it down to your kids. So I hope that you don't have any objections to that, because it's a deal-breaker for me.

Hilary: I have no problem with that.

Michael: Okay. I think I have enough to get us started. But you still haven't answered my initial question -- how are you two creating this child? All right. Clearly you two need to have a private conversation. I'll be in touch.

Devon: Thank you, michael.

Victoria: Hey.

J.T.: [ Sighs ] Talked to your father. He told me, uh, what you did to ashley.

Victoria: Oh, I just got both barrels from my dad and ashley and abby. I -- I can't hear this from you, not -- not right now.

J.T.: You know, you, um... you asked me to break into jack abbott's office and get proof that ashley was spying on newman enterprises. Proof that you and jack planted. You set me up.

Victoria: None of this was aimed at you.

J.T.: [ Scoffs ] Y-you and jack have a -- have a good laugh about that?

Victoria: No. I would never do something like that.

J.T.: No, but see, the interesting thing is, now I look like an idiot to your father because I stood up for you. I told him, "there is no way -- no way -- that she would ever lie to me, or use me like that."

Victoria: I was just trying to protect you. I thought that if you didn't know anything about my plan, then at least your job would be safe. Even if mine wasn'T.

J.T.: Yeah, you're playing the sympathy card now, huh?

Victoria: You don't care if my father fires me?

J.T.: [ Chuckles ] All I can think about is, "I wonder how many other secrets she's keeping from me?"

Victoria: I'm not keeping any other secrets from you. This plan was about jack. It wasn't about our relationship at all. It was about work. It was --

J.T.: See, we work together, victoria. And now I got to wonder if that's why you hired me --

Victoria: No, of course not. Of course not.

J.T.: No, no. Hold on. Hold on. ...Because you think you can manipulate me into covering things up for you like I did for nikki.

Victoria: I hired you because you're the best at what you do.

J.T.: Why don't you trust me?

Victoria: I do.

J.T.: Not enough to tell me the truth. Even after you got caught. No, I had to find it out from victor and abby. It was pretty humiliating.

Victoria: J.T. --

J.T.: You know, I called you, I texted you.

Victoria: I know.

J.T.: You ignored me.

Victoria: I just -- I didn't know what to say.

J.T.: And that's how unimportant I am to you? If we don't have trust, what the hell are we doing together?

Cane: Devon wants to have a baby with hilary?

Lily: Yeah.

Cane: That's a horrible idea.

Lily: I know. That's what I told him.

Cane: Well, at this point, there's probably not much you can either say or do to stop it.

Lily: No, that's the thing about hilary. She will not stop until she gets what she wants. Well, neither will I.

Hilary: Michael was being silly about that last part.

Devon: It's a legit question, though. How are we gonna make this baby?

Hilary: Well, the idea was for us to co-parent, not rekindle our relationship.

Devon: Exactly. That's right.

Hilary: Right. So, of course, our baby will be conceived in the doctor's office.

Devon: Okay. So that means all you need from me is...my sperm --

Hilary: Genetic material.

[ Laughs ]

Devon: That sounds better.

Hilary: You know, you don't even -- you don't have to be there for my part of the procedure. It's fine.

Devon: Well, what if I want to be?

Hilary: Well, if -- yeah, if you want to. You -- you could.

Devon: Yeah. You being inseminated is the right thing to do. So, platonic co-parenting, here we come, right?

Abby: Of course victoria thought she could just say, "oops, I messed up," and all would be forgiven.

Ashley: Well, obviously that apology was victor's idea.

Abby: Why can't dad see how unfair he's being? He was willing to make me a scapegoat when I was zack's victim. But his golden child? Oh, no. She's off the hook. I'm so glad you pushed back.

Ashley: I spent too many years forgiving jack his transgressions -- while I stayed in my lane just to show my support for him. No more. It's not gonna happen at newman.

Abby: So what's next?

Ashley: I'm calling my attorney.

Abby: To sue newman?

Ashley: And jabot.

Abby: Whoa.

Ashley: I'm taking victor to court for wrongful termination. And I'm gonna take jack to court for defamation of character. They'll never know what hit them.

Victor: Now ashley's not coming back to newman enterprises unless I fire victoria.

Nikki: Yeah, I was afraid of that.

Victor: If this were a question of making a decision regarding two regular employees, it'd be easy. I'd fire the one guilty -- victoria. But for obvious reasons, I can't do that, besides that she's a top-notch executive.

Nikki: Victoria's your daughter. How could she help but resent you if you fire her?

Victor: Yeah, but, listen, if I let her off the hook, what signal does that send to the other employees?

Nikki: And if ashley leaves and returns to jabot?

Victor: Then she could do a lot of damage to my company because she has a lot of inside information.

Nikki: Well, then I guess it comes down to one thing -- who's the better employee? Victoria or ashley?

Victor: Victoria. However, ashley has proven to be more loyal.

Nikki: So?

Victor: [ Sighs ] Neither option is a good one.

Nikki: Well, there might be a third option. Something that will give everybody, including you, what you want.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I'm sorry for all of this. I'm sorry for dragging you into it, and for keeping things from you.

Victoria: I don't want this to come between us. Just...tell me what you need me to do, and I'll do it. I refused to beg ashley for forgiveness, but I will -- I would beg you. Would you please forgive me? Please? It's bad enough that I've already -- I've lost my father's respect, and... I might lose my job. I don't want to lose you, too. Are you gonna leave me over this?
