Mariah: Tessa.

Sharon: Tessa, as in noah's tessa?

Mariah: You chose to betray me in the worst way, all so you can write a hit song.

Nikki: To the outside world, we will appear to be a very loving, happy power couple.

Victor: As it should be.

Michael: The arbitrator ruled against ashley.

Jack: I value you. I always have, and I'm sorry it all came down like this.

Ashley: I'm resigning from jabot. You and I are done.

J.T.: So, all the tests...?

Dr. Shepherd: They indicate extensive damage to your heart from the electrical current.

Victoria: [ Breathes deeply ] Well, hello, you two.

Nikki: Hey!

Victoria: Is this a landlord meeting?

Nick: Yeah. It's private. Pretty exclusive, but I think we can give you a special exception.

Nikki: So, how is it having J.T. And reed back under the same roof?

Nick: Wait, what? J-- he's been in town for like two minutes, and you already moved him back home?

Victoria: I know it's fast, but, given our history --

Nikki: Honey, your history is what has me concerned.

Victoria: Well, don't worry, mom. We already conveniently got our post-move-in fight out of the way, and we even danced to celebrate.

[ Sighs ] Now hopefully we're not about to have another one.

Nick: What'd he do?

Victoria: We were supposed to meet to work out. So, he either forgot or he's blowing me off.

J.T.: [ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

Tessa: You wanted to see me?

Devon: Yeah. Yeah. I didn't want to leave you hanging.

Tessa: Well, if you need more time to think about my song, I-I totally get it. This is all so weird.

Devon: I consulted our lawyers, and if mariah files a plagiarism suit, it could cause a lot of damage, so I am not gonna be releasing your song, and I'm also going to have to cut you from the label.

Mariah: I can't believe you're actually here. I didn't think that you would want to see me again. How's tessa?

Noah: Seriously? That's your first question to me?

Mariah: I just mean... I'm worried about both of you. You left last night before i could explain, and --

Noah: You didn't have to. It was all right there in your journal. While you and me and devon and tessa were in san francisco, bonding over, you know, music and great food, you... were hitting on my girlfriend. Then you kissed her. And then you wrote all about it.

Mariah: I didn't let you read it to hurt you. I just wanted you to understand.

Noah: I do. Really. And now there's a song to constantly remind me of it.

Mariah: That part is not my fault, noah. Tessa stole my words, and she used them in a song.

Noah: So, what about the rest of your "dear diary" entry? Did you notice that my name is nowhere in there? But why would it be? Because it's clear that you didn't even care.

Mariah: Stop it.

Noah: No! You've been lying to me for months! It didn't bother you one bit that you made a move on your own brother's girlfriend.

Jack: Safe to assume I'll have an update on all of your current projects, as well as a list of people you want to take over on each?

Ashley: I think you need to deal with that on your own, jackie. After all, important decisions like that need to be made by a true blood abbott, I would assume.

[ Door opens ]

Traci: Hello!

Ashley: Hi!

Jack: You're back!

Traci: I am.

Jack: Hey!

Traci: Hi.

Jack: How was mother when you left?

Traci: Oh. [ Chuckles ]

Ashley: How's abby dealing with everything?

Traci: Oh. Well... a look of utter peace came over our mother's face the minute we landed in paris. She recognized everything -- landmarks, restaurants. Graham had fired her whole household staff. Every single one of them came back when we called them, and she recognized every single one. She was telling me details of each of their lives like we were at a cocktail party and she was the perfect hostess. It's long-term versus short-term memory or it's maybe she just she was so relieved to be home.

Ashley: How's abby doing?

Traci: [ Sighs ] Still madly in love with paris. And she has all the support she needs if there's any complication with mom. She has doctors, staff. She has specialists should she need them.

Ashley: Yeah, that is great. I always thought support would be a really good idea for mom.

Traci: Okay. That was my news. Tell me about yours. What did I miss?

Ashley: Not much, really. I mean, except for the end of my career at jabot and the end of my relationship with jack.

[ Sighs ]

Jack: [ Sighs ]

Victoria: So, how is owning and renovating your first property together?

Nick: I got to say...

Nikki: I just write the checks at this point. This young man here does all the heavy lifting.

Nick: I love it. It's been fun.

Victoria: Yeah? Will you be picking up a wrench anytime soon?

Nikki: Of course! Not.

Nick: [ Chuckles ]

Nikki: But I do have some ideas for the lobby -- something to give it a sense of comfort and community.

Victoria: That's nice.

Nikki: I have to go -- a benefit meeting that I can't miss.

Victoria: Well, we are so proud of our little philanthropist.

Nikki: Oh, thank you. Mwah! I love you both. I'll see you soon.

Nick: Love you, mom.

Nikki: Bye-bye.

Victoria: Well, things seem to be going pretty well, her living with dad and working with you. You make a good team. You always have.

Nick: And we didn't have to bulldoze the park to make a change.

Victoria: That is a slightly low blow, but I get it. I guess that's why I'm named after dad and you're named after mom. They knew exactly how we would turn out, didn't they?

Nick: But we're not them, are we? Although one of us did move back in with their ex.

Victoria: Very funny.

Jack: Right. Right. Change the conversation from mother's condition to your wounded pride.

Ashley: Oh, that's what you think this is about -- my pride? Of course you would, because that's your entire motivation in life, isn't it, jack -- pride and ego? God forbid you consider loyalty.

Traci: Please, please stop it! I didn't fly all the way back from paris to listen to the two of you attack each other. You managed to put all of this behind you when it had to do with helping mother. The second she's out of here, the two of you are at each other's throats.

Ashley: Because it's all about business, right, jack? You know who you remind me of? The only thing you're missing is a mustache.

Jack: Oh, how quickly we forget. You're the one who forced the issue, ashley. Don't play victim after what you pulled with me.

Traci: Stop it! We are watching our mother deteriorate, and this is how you choose to behave -- by tearing this family apart?! I thought the two of you had learned something by now!

[ Voice breaking ] Please think about this! Think about what you are doing and what we all stand to lose!

[ Crying ]

Tessa: Look, I have ideas for new songs. If you just give me a little bit more time, I could --

Devon: Tessa, I'm sorry. I really am, okay? But we are losing money on a song that we can't distribute and an artist that we can't market. We've laid out a lot of funds now producing your music, and we have nothing to show for it now.

Tessa: Just one day and I can come up with something better than I have ever done before.

Devon: And how am I supposed to know that what you come up with is your own work?

Tessa: I thought you said that you believed that I wrote the song myself.

Devon: I did, until I read mariah's journal.

Tessa: She showed it to you?

Devon: Enough to see how similar the lyrics are.

Tessa: But if I wrote something that someone else is feeling, that means that I've tapped in to something that people can relate to.

Devon: Tessa, it was pretty damn close, okay? It was like the same words and the same meaning. And, regardless, if it was a mistake or not, we can't release your music -- not with this financial loss. And the trust is gone, too.

Tessa: Music is my life. This is all I've ever wanted. This can't be how I lose it.

Mariah: Noah, you are in this journal [Voice breaking] So many times... and so many entries because i did feel guilty.

[ Crying ] For the kiss... for my feelings... for keeping it from you.

Noah: Yeah. It must have been rough for you. Lying in my face for how many months?

[ Chuckles ] So, is this why you broke up with devon? Yeah. Okay. Right. So...let's see. You managed to do the right thing by devon, just not by your brother, right?!

Mariah: Devon deserved more than I had to offer him.

Noah: Oh, but I deserve to look like a sucker?

Mariah: Tessa only wanted you! She only wanted you. That's it. So I was never any threat to you or your relationship, so telling you -- it would have hurt you for no reason.

Noah: Do you even get how this brother-and-sister thing is supposed to work? You're supposed to have my back the same way that I have always had yours. Instead, I just look like the jerk who had no clue... because you decided to keep your little secret from me.

Mariah: No. It wasn't a secret.

Noah: [ Snickers ]

Mariah: It wasn't a secret. It was --

[ Sighs ] It was guilt. It was confusion.

Noah: I thought it was great, you know -- my sister and my girlfriend are so close. Meanwhile, all this time --

Mariah: No. It was just that one second. It was never anything else.

Noah: So, you didn't have feelings for tessa? You didn't wish that she was with you instead of me? There it is.

Sharon: What? You guys, I can hear you all the way up in my room. What's going on?

Noah: Oh, you know, my sister made a play for my girlfriend.

Sharon: Oh, sweetheart.

Noah: You knew?

[ Laughing ] Oh, my god. You already knew?

Jack: Look, uh --

Ashley: Hi! Hey, there.

Tony: Oh! You look great!

Ashley: Thank you. Thanks for coming.

Tony: Yeah.

Jack: Your attorney is here. The arbitration is over. The decision is final.

Tony: My client and I are well aware of the legalities, jack.

Ashley: It's none of your business. Why don't you concentrate on how you're gonna run the company without my help?

Tony: [ Chuckles ]

Jack: Then what is this, then -- a date? You're dating the piranha? Gee, how ethical of you.

Ashley: [ Laughs ] How childish of you. Uh, you think the only thing that tony and I can talk about is romance? Really? You think I'm that limited?

Jack: Okay. So this is business. Let me guess. A lawsuit against jabot?

Ashley: Oh, jackie, it is so much fun to watch you squirm. You know what? He's gonna hear about it anyway. Go ahead.

Tony: Yeah?

Ashley: Yeah.

Tony: You sure? Well, jack, uh, your sister, former chief executive, is innovator of the year.

Jack: Yes, I know that.

Tony: Oh. So then you should also know that she's also a free agent and everyone wants to work with her.

Ashley: "Everyone." Ha! That's nice. So, anyway, tony's setting up some meetings for me. We're looking for seed money. So I guess I should thank you for squeezing me out of jabot. I'm gonna start my own company in direct competition with you. Have a great day.

[ Speaks indistinctly ]

Tony: Ah.

Ashley: I'm very excited.

Tony: Big day ahead of us.

Tessa: Okay, but will I get my last paycheck?

Devon: Tessa... if we kept to the terms of your agreement, you would owe me money. Your music hasn't earned enough to cover the recording costs.

Tessa: Okay. Well, then let me work off what I owe. I mean, I can sing backup for other acts.

Devon: You are not gonna be getting into the studio again. It's not gonna happen.

Tessa: I can do other work. I mean, I worked for nikki newman. Please, let me show you that I'm a better person than you think i am.

Devon: Tessa, I don't think that you're a bad person.

Tessa: If you think I stole from mariah --

Devon: What I think is that you panicked under a deadline and you made a really big mistake. If you really need a job, you can stay on as an assistant, but I know that's not what you want to do.

Tessa: I've always made music just for myself. And I can do it again. I just need a paycheck.

Devon: [ Sighs ] Well, you know what? Maybe down the road one day, you can get back in the studio.

Tessa: I don't expect it.

Devon: Good, because it's a big "maybe." That's all.

Tessa: That's enough. You won't regret letting me work for you.

Devon: I know I won't, because one more mistake and we're done.

Sharon: I just didn't see any reason to cause you any pain.

Noah: So, you decided that i shouldn't know that my girlfriend was involved with my sister?!

Mariah: Hey! We were never involved.

Noah: So, you would have been okay staying in the dark about scott and abby?

Sharon: No!

Noah: Right?

Sharon: That was not the same thing. An affair versus a kiss? This was sex versus one moment!

Noah: You're both saying it was just one kiss, like it just -- it just came out of nowhere. But it didn'T. No matter how much you want to keep on lying to yourselves and to me, it didn'T.

Mariah: Please don't blame sharon, okay? You are mad at me, not her.

Sharon: It's okay. You -- you can be angry with me. I can take it. You know, I just tried to make the right decision for both my kids, and it may not have been the perfect choice, but the situation was so complicated!

Noah: That doesn't work, mom... because you were only honest with one of us... and it wasn't me.

Sharon: Noah!

Nikki: J.T.! What are you doing here?

J.T.: I, uh -- I just had to take care of something.

Nikki: Well, I don't mean to pry, but seems that we're family again, so I can't help but worry.

J.T.: Well, nikki, you have my word. If anything were wrong, I would let you know. All right? Take care.

Victoria: Mom?

Nikki: Hi! I found your ex-husband.

Sharon: Noah, I'm sorry. I handled this badly. The last thing that I would ever want to do is hurt you -- either of you.

Noah: Well, that didn't go exactly as planned, did it?

Sharon: Seeing you like this now, I know that I made a mistake. But there's someone else who wasn't honest, also. What does tessa have to say for herself?

Noah: I haven't talked to her yet.

Mariah: Why not?

Sharon: Noah --

Noah: What?! Do you want to give me advice now?! Do you want to tell me how i should handle this, after what the two of you did?!

Sharon: As a mother, all I've ever wanted was to keep you from being wounded. And mariah -- she opened up her heart, noah, and she made a mistake because of it. Now, tessa -- I honestly can't speak for her because I don't know what she's thinking, and, evidently, neither do you. But I know that she tried to exploit mariah's words and her feelings. She claimed them as her own, and she tried to turn a profit. Who exactly is most to blame in this?

Traci: Has ashley gone out?

Jack: Yeah, after she announced she's going into business against jabot.

Traci: What? You're not good with that?

Jack: Direct competition from a jabot insider is not good for any of us.

Traci: And yet I can't begrudge ashley the chance to build something of her own. Can you not see why she would want that right now, why she would need something to call her own?

Jack: I didn't want this. I was fighting for my company, for my position. This is not the victory i anticipated.

Traci: Because it cost you, jack. It cost you both more than you are willing to admit, and i don't mean some damn title.

Jack: I didn't start this. Ashley is the one who called a board meeting. Ashley's the one who insisted on a vote of no confidence. I didn't want to lose her, from the company or as a sister.

Traci: You are a brilliant man, jack... and yet you claim that you couldn't anticipate the fallout from this. You have basically disowned ashley. By forcing the issue of her paternity, you have made her feel less than.

Jack: No! No! I have never --

Traci: By enforcing that amendment, you did that! The arbitration is legal and binding. You have made blood the most important thing, not history, not family, not love.

Jack: As many years as I have known about her paternity, i have never thought of her as less than an abbott. It never mattered to me!

Traci: But it mattered to ashley. And you knew that! All those times that you told her it didn't matter who her father was, by doing this, you have made that all a lie.

Ashley: Well, I'm looking for investors, preferably one investor, and I think that hamilton winters makes enormous sense for a true collaboration. And now that you're repositioning your company to be a media juggernaut, a health and beauty line is probably the most logical step for you. And having a female chemist and C.E.O. Fits in beautifully with your mission statement.

Tony: Innovator of the year.

Ashley: Yes!

Devon: Mm.

Tony: Built-in marketing strategy, plus it shows she's got the goods.

Devon: Right. It is a strong idea.

Tony: Clearly.

Devon: Yeah. Uh, but there are a lot of other factors. Would you have time to discuss in more detail, ashley?

Ashley: I have all the time in the world.

Devon: Perfect. How 'bout we go to my office?

Ashley: Okay. Absolutely. Thank you, tony. Lead the way.

Tony: I'll let you guys do it. Don't sign anything.

Ashley: [ Laughs ]

Victor: Tony kingsman. Isn't that right?

Tony: Victor newman!

Victor: Yes.

Tony: How the heck are you?

Victor: How the hell are you? So, you know ashley abbott and devon hamilton?

Tony: Yeah. I was encouraging a partnership between devon's company and ashley's new venture.

Victor: New venture?

Tony: She's starting a new cosmetics line. You know how talented she is.

Victor: Yes, of course.

Tony: Hey, maybe, uh -- maybe you'd want to put in a bid.

Victor: Hmm.

Tony: I got to warn you, though -- there is some steep competition.

Victor: Really, huh? Now, she resigned from jabot? Is that right?

Tony: Onward and upward.

Victor: Nice to see you, tony.

Tony: You, too.

Nikki: Victor! I thought you would be pleased to know that the neurology wing has new donors at the ready.

Victor: I'm so glad to hear that. Now, listen, there's some pressing business and something that will benefit newman enterprises enormously.

Nikki: Okay. What can I do?

Victor: I need you to meet me shortly.

Nikki: I can do that.

Victor: But here's the key part. I need you to put aside your loyalty to jack abbott. Yeeeeaaaahhh!

Ashley: Hi!

Victor: Well, hello, ashley.

Ashley: Hello, there.

Victor: Been meaning to talk to you.

Ashley: Really?

Victor: Yeah.

Ashley: Why do you want to talk to me?

Victor: Well, you know, i heard things about your mother and that bloodworth fellow.

Ashley: It was awful, and I'm so grateful it's behind us. It's been really bad.

Victor: Also heard some rumblings about jabot or something.

Ashley: And I'm sure you want to hear more.

Victor: Well, why wouldn't I?

Ashley: [ Laughs ]

Victor: Maybe you can tell me. We'll sit down. We'll have a meal. We haven't done that for a long time.

Ashley: And how would nikki feel about that?

Victor: Oh, it was her idea. She'll join us.

Ashley: Oh.

Sharon: If tea doesn't work, I can try hot chocolate.

Mariah: Hot chocolate is not gonna fix this. Because noah's right -- I did the right thing by devon. I walked away. He and I are even friends again. But my own brother...

[ Sniffles ] I did... feel guilty, but not guilty enough to stop everything with tessa. I kissed her because I wanted to know if she felt the same way. And I wanted that more than i wanted to protect my own brother. So, noah is right to hate you.

Sharon: No. He -- he doesn't hate you. He never could. Just...give him some time. You've been living with this for months. He just found out. It's too raw.

Mariah: [ Voice breaking ] I went from having no one to having a family. And... maybe I just don't get it. Maybe I don't know how to be a real sister.

Sharon: That is not true. You need to forgive yourself... and give noah some space. He'll -- he'll see the truth. He'll remember how much you love him.

Mariah: Or I could end up losing him.

Nick: Uh... I don't know what to say.

Noah: Look, I don't care of tessa's attracted to women -- just not this particular woman, and not while we're dating. And then she decided to move in with me, so every evening and the morning, the coffee, the tv, the laundry days -- she just decided it was okay to keep this huge secret from me -- lie to my face all this time.

Nick: Well, maybe that's the key, you know? You know, it was so long ago. It doesn't seem like it went anywhere. Tessa is with you. And up until now, you seemed really happy.

Noah: Yeah, because I didn't have all the information.

Nick: Well, then go get some answers before you throw something... that's really good away.

[ Vehicle approaches ]

Victoria: Hey. What's going on? Why were you at the hospital?

J.T.: [ Groans ] Nikki just had to call you, didn't she?

Victoria: Did you think she wouldn't? She's my mother, and she knew that I was waiting to hear from you.

J.T.: I'm sure victor's got a tail on me, too, right?

Victoria: You blew me off. You didn't call me or send me a text, and then I find out that you were at the hospital. Can you please explain that to me?

J.T.: I-I will if you calm down.

Victoria: Calm down?! J.T., You were at the hospital.

J.T.: Yeah. You keep saying that.

Victoria: But my mom said that you said nothing's wrong with you.

J.T.: Because I lied, all right? I-I don't think nikki needs to know my business.

Victoria: Yeah? Well, I do.

J.T.: Okay. I was at the hospital to see a doctor about my heart.

Nick: [ Sucks teeth ]

Jack: So, you have to go out in the world like the rest of us to get a drink. Maybe you're starting to miss the underground by now.

Nick: Actually, I'm not.

Jack: No?

Nick: But it does feel weird to have to buy my own drinks now.

Jack: [ Chuckles ] I'll buy that one. I'll have a scotch, neat.

Nick: Any strings with that?

[ Chuckles ] That's what I thought.

Jack: No. I'm just wondering what the world is like post-victor.

Nick: Why the sudden interest?

Jack: Oh, I can't count the number of times that he disowned adam and you. And, no, he didn't disinherit you, but... he sure tried to push you away for an awful long time.

Nick: Yeah. He did.

Jack: You know what? The way you look at victor -- that's the way ashley sees me now.

Nick: Aw, come on. Not a chance.

Jack: Yeah, it's true.

Nick: Well, I didn't know that things were this bad, but it can't possibly be permanent, right? I mean, even on your worst day, you're not in the same league as my dad.

Jack: Not long ago, I would have agreed with you. Now I'm not so sure.

Nikki: There's nothing quite so shocking when the most formidable person in your life suddenly seems weak and small.

Ashley: It is unnerving.

Nikki: And heartbreaking. I've done some fundraising for an alzheimer's charity, and the stress on the family and the caregivers -- it's endless.

Ashley: Yeah, that's very true. I appreciate your concern. Where's it really coming from?

Nikki: Oh. Okay. Well, you and I do have our issues, but family is very important to both of us, so no matter what, we will always agree on that. Or maybe I am being overly sensitive right now. I've moved back home. It's made me very aware how much stronger and better I am when i have my whole family around me.

Victor: Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think abby mentioned some tension between you and jack.

Ashley: Okay.

Victor: What?

Ashley: So that's what this is about. You want some ammunition to use against jack. But I have to be perfectly frank with you. I couldn't be less interested in the world's most tedious war. Right, nikki?

Victor: That has nothing to do with it, although I would be pretending if I didn't think that jack was capable of another foolish act.

Ashley: So, this is a fishing expedition, isn't it? I'm surprised you're a part of this, though, nikki. Isn't jack your friend?

Nikki: Yes, and one who hasn't returned my calls lately, which usually means he's done something he's not proud of. I mean, I'm very fond of jack, but that doesn't mean that i always approve of the things he does. You and I are both aware of the battles he has fought and won, but when he doesn't learn his lesson, such as who not to take for granted, it's very frustrating. So, tell me -- will you be joining abby and your mother in paris?

Ashley: You know, eventually. Not right away. I'm going to be starting a new business venture.

Victor: Is that so?

Nikki: Really? Good for you!

Ashley: Thank you.

Victor: Oh, my goodness.

Ashley: Yeah. It seemed like a good time to have a new challenge.

Victor: Well, good luck to you.

Ashley: Thank you.

Nikki: Victor, you don't have to say it like that.

Victor: Like what?

Nikki: As if it's impossible to start a new company.

Victor: Oh, I didn't mean that. I'm sure you'll do well.

Nikki: Of course she will. Why wouldn't she?

Victor: Ashley has been in business long enough to know how difficult start-ups are. You need to establish a distribution network and have the right infrastructure... enough capital to start the venture with. And in this case, she will do all of this without the support of jabot.

Nikki: If support is what she wants... she should come over to newman instead.

[ Knock on door ]

Tessa: Yeah? [ Gasps ]

[ Sighs ]

[ Sighs ]

Noah: What's with the tears?

Tessa: Devon cut me from the label. I tried to explain about the song again, but --

Noah: I read mariah's journal. Yeah. Yeah, she showed me the pages -- everything you stole for your song.

Tessa: I-I'm so sorry.

Noah: For what? For the lies? The plagiarizing? Or was it that kiss you never told me about?

Tessa: I'm sorry about all of it.

Noah: Is that all you have to say?

Tessa: Anything else will just sound like an excuse.

Noah: All right. Then, uh, just don't even bother explaining, then.

Tessa: Tell me what you want, and I'll give it to you.

Noah: You know what I wanted. I told you months ago. I just wanted to know you. That's all.

Tessa: You knew what mattered. You knew my heart.

Noah: Well, that sounds pretty, but it's just a load of garbage. You didn't tell me about your sister. You didn't tell me that you and mariah were running around town, chasing sex traffickers. You sure as hell didn't tell me that my sister wanted to be with you. Mariah knew long before I ever did because you always went to her and never to me.

Tessa: You are who I'm with, noah -- who I want to be with. And if I didn't tell you certain things, it's because I didn't want to lose you. And I don't want to lose you -- not now. I'll tell you anything, everything. I love you, noah. I chose you.

Victoria: Why don't you sit down and talk to me? What's wrong with your heart?

J.T.: It's nothing.

Victoria: You don't go and see a heart specialist for nothing.

J.T.: Look, my heart just never completely recovered after the accident.

Victoria: Oh. When you were electrocuted. We almost lost you. All this time, I mean, you didn't say anything.

J.T.: 'Cause there's nothing to say, all right? I just needed a new cardiologist for some maintenance, and now i have one.

Victoria: You're being so calm about this.

J.T.: Because it's a condition I live with, okay? I take some medicine. I see a doctor every once in a while.

Victoria: What kind of medication? What are the side effects?

J.T.: Why are you asking?

Victoria: Your mood the other day -- maybe it was the medication. Maybe that's why you got so upset. So, why? I mean, you spent all that time

Noah: So, why do you want to be with me? Hmm? I mean, you spent all that time with mariah. You confided in her. You trusted her. You kissed her. So, why? Why do you want to be with me instead of mariah? Is it because I'm a newman? Because I have money?

Tessa: It was never about that.

Noah: Then why?! You know what? Don't even bother, because at this point, I doubt I'd even believe you. You stole my grandmother's gun. You stole my sister's journal. I have no idea what else you're after.

Tessa: Noah, please. It's not like that. All I want is to be with you. I just kept the ugly stuff to myself. It doesn't mean that I don't care about you.

Noah: You never trusted me. Any shred of honesty I got, I had to force it out of you.

Tessa: I never had anyone i could lean on before.

Noah: You lean on mariah. I just had no idea how much. Do you know what the worst part for me is? I finally thought I was... starting to be able to see inside your mind and your heart with that song, and it wasn't even yours. I can't do it anymore.

Tessa: Please don't say that.

Noah: I told you I've already been burned before, but, apparently, that didn't matter, because here I am again, dealing with all these lies and secrets. But this is the last time. We're done.

Tessa: [ Crying ]

Victoria: I'm gonna get some names and call some other specialists -- get a second opinion.

J.T.: No. You're not.

Victoria: I am.

J.T.: Nope. You said it yourself. Otherwise --

Victoria: [ Laughing ] Put me down. You're gonna hurt yourself.

J.T.: I got to show you that I'm strong since our other activities haven't proven that to you.

Victoria: I'm not okay with this.

J.T.: [ Sighs ]

Victoria: [ Laughing ] I'm serious!

J.T.: I'm serious, too. I'm serious, too -- really serious.

Victoria: J.T... you're here with me. You're in my house. You're in my bed. Why wouldn't you tell me something like this?

J.T.: Because I'm embarrassed.

Victoria: What?

J.T.: Well, yeah. Look, it's -- the condition, uh, getting worked up the other day. Look, these pills keep me healthy, right? But if I act like a jerk, that's on me.

Victoria: I guess I didn't realize you had so much on your mind, though.

J.T.: No, don't make excuses for it, okay? It just makes it worse.

Victoria: I'm trying to be understanding.

J.T.: Look, the medicine, the doctors -- all of it just means I have limitations. Hell, I didn't get in to the genoa city police department years ago, and that's half the reason mac and I moved to D.C. I lost out on a lot of opportunities. I don't want people to look at me differently, think I'm weak.

Victoria: Never. Kind, smart, sexy. Not weak.

J.T.: Hmm.

Ashley: Getting together was, uh, lovely, wonderful.

Nikki: I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Victor: But, you know, I'm just -- just thinking.

Ashley: What?

Victor: Well, if we didn't dismiss nikki's idea of you coming to newman too quickly.

Ashley: [ Laughs ] There's no room for me there, right? I mean, victoria's C.O.O. You are C.E.O. And anything else would be a step down.

Victor: What if we created a new "c"-level position? You would be on equal footing.

Nikki: Oh, so now you like my idea? How very nice for you.

Victor: Yeah.

Nikki: Just for the record, what would this title be?

Victor: How 'bout chief innovation officer? I think that has a hell of a ring to it. Don't you?

Nikki: Is there such a thing?

Victor: Ashley would make it her own.

Nikki: And she would answer to you?

Victor: Yes, directly. And, of course, you, uh... you know, give me some tips about the cosmetics division and whatever else you have to say about newman enterprises.

Ashley: And it would be an opportunity for you to... stick it to jack?

Nikki: I cannot speak for victor, but I was not thinking of jack at all when I made the suggestion. Actually, I was thinking about newman enterprises. It's been a trying year for the company. They could use some new, fresh ideas, but only from someone with experience and knowledge.

Ashley: And you're completely okay with me working at newman, answering only to victor?

Nikki: Are you wondering if i can ignore the fact that you are the one who broke up my first marriage to victor? For the sake of our family company, yes, I can. Can you?

Victor: You know the resources that newman has that you can avail yourself of. I think this is the offer of a lifetime. What do you think?
