Episode # 11281 ~ Cane lands on his feet, Lily sets the record straight with Jordan, and Jack plots to rescue Dina.

[ Monitor beeping ]

Ashley: Bloodsucking excuse for a human being won't even let us in to see our own mother.

Traci: How on earth did graham convince mother to give him medical power of attorney?

Ashley: Traci, he's a master manipulator. He's been planning this for a very long time. I told you. He stalked dina until he got a job at mergeron, and then he weaseled his way into her life. And being her heir wasn't enough for him. He had to protect his investment. He had to make sure that he was the one person standing by her bedside, if and when she got ill. He had to make sure his revenge was complete.

Graham: Oh. Dina. Thank god. It's so good to see you awake.

Dina: Hmm.

Graham: You're in the hospital. Dr. Hummel said that you had an episode. A minor stroke.

Dina: Doctor told me.

Graham: The good news is, you're going to be fine. You're stronger than anyone realizes, and you're not going to be alone.

Dina: [ Chuckles ] How could you say that? I've never felt more alone in my entire life.

Graham: I'm with you. You hear me? I will never abandon you. That's a promise.

Dina: I've never known anyone as devoted as you.

Jack: Tell me that's a fake.

Michael: I'm sorry, jack. This is standard boilerplate. At times like this, graham bloodworth is authorized to make any and all medical decisions for dina mergeron.

Jack: It was executed properly? We can't challenge it in any way?

Michael: It's, sadly, legitimate and binding. It was notarized shortly after dina and graham returned to genoa city, which means she agreed to this in front of a witness.

Jack: He did this when he changed her will. He thought of everything. So how do we take the power away from him? I want nothing more than to go back to that hospital and throw him out of it and out of my mother's life for good.

Phyllis: Pure insanity. I mean, I could understand that with a newman event, but with the abbotts? I mean, they could usually get through a party without a major debacle.

Hilary: It's one thing for that guy to go after ashley, but the rest of the family? That takes brass or stupidity or a bit of both.

Phyllis: Well, I'm not a fan. And I have to tell you, I-i really felt for ashley. I feel for all of them, minus dina, obviously. Please tell me you're not going to air any of that.

Hilary: Jack has been too good to me. Present company aside, he's one of the few real friends I've got. He trusts me, and I cannot jeopardize my relationship with him or jabot, especially since i am in the doghouse with victoria newman right now.

Phyllis: Oh, forget about her. You're better off without her.

Hilary: I disagree. In fact, I am planning to do everything I can to get back in victoria newman's good graces.

Victoria: So, the search to find our new marketing exec is finally over. We're promoting from within. Lily is now the woman in charge.

Jordan: Seriously?

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Jordan: Congrats to both of you. And you deserve this. And you deserve a smart exec like lily. But does this mean I'm losing my muse for the men's line?

Lily: No, no, no. I'm pulling double duty, so I'll be brand ambassador and handle marketing, which I'm happy to have the steady work and very grateful to have your confidence in me.

Victoria: Well, you've earned it. And it's the right move for us. We're all very excited to have you, actually. But there are gonna be some logistical issues, so I need you to check your schedules and make sure there's no conflicts.

Lily: Yeah, of course. We're on it.

Victoria: Great.

Jordan: All right.

Victoria: Uh, lily, can i have a second?

Lily: Sure.

Jordan: Hey, I'll go pull up my calendar. And, victoria, you made the right decision.

Victoria: Thanks. I think so.

Lily: Uh, so, what's, uh, what's up?

Victoria: Um, it's a sensitive issue, and I hope you won't be offended by what I have to say.

Cane: Hey, it's me. I just wanted to check on you and the baby, make sure you guys are okay. All right. All right, I'll talk to you later, okay? Hey. Hey. How you doing?

Billy: Just pretend I have headphones on and I can't hear you.

Cane: I just thought that maybe you might want to hear an update on jill, but don't worry about it, man.

Billy: Wait a second. Hold on. What's going on with my mother? Is it her heart?

Cane: No, her heart's great. I spent some time with her and colin on their travels. You know, thought you might want to know about it.

Billy: Is that it?

Cane: Yeah.

Billy: Well, that's an epic update, cane.

Cane: Well, you know, uh, jill did actually make another decision while I was there with her. You're looking at the acting C.E.O. Of chancellor industries.

Phyllis: Since when have you ever cared what anybody had to say, especially victoria newman? It's not your fault she slept with that idiot and decided to yell about it in public. You had every right to air that video.

Hilary: It was a short-term win for a long-term loss. Victoria and I, we've always been friendly, and brash & sassy stories, they've always scored big numbers. Bottom line, it is better to be in with a newman than out.

Phyllis: She is never going to trust you ever again, no matter how much you suck up, because she's a stone-cold bitch.

Hilary: People have said that about me before, too. I need to do some damage control before she comes after me.

Phyllis: Comes after you how?

Hilary: I don't know. But she got all up in my face at the club the other day, throwing threats around. Even jordan thought it was a little over the top.

Phyllis: You know, she's actually been pulling that with me lately. I just assumed it was billy, but she obviously has issues with strong women she considers to be a threat.

Hilary: Well, I don't care what her issues are. I just -- I need to fix this.

Lily: Is this about us letting mattie and reed see each other? Because if you've changed your mind --

Victoria: No, no, not at all. No, she's a terrific kid, and you know what? I'm actually glad that they have each other to lean on. And I think as long as cane doesn't get involved, then it should be drama-free.

Lily: Yeah, I hope so. I mean, he's been out of town, so I haven't had a chance to talk to him. But, um, we've had enough problems as it is.

Victoria: I know it's awful filing for divorce, feeling like you're caught between the future and the past. But you've handled it with some -- some real grace.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Thank you. I don't know if sobbing in the shower is grace, but I-I'd be a mess without my family and friends.

Victoria: And jordan.

Lily: Yeah. He, um, he's been a rock.

Victoria: Yeah, you two are close.

Lily: So that's what you wanted to talk about, right?

Victoria: Well, it's obvious that jordan is very fond of you. You can tell from his photographs and the way that he looks at you. It's almost like there might be something more there than friendship.

Lily: Well, I, uh, I-I-I -- I could see what you're --

Victoria: You know that hr reviewed our policy prohibiting employees of different levels from engaging in a personal relationship, don't you?

Lily: Yes, and you had it revamped after what happened with cane and juliet.

Victoria: The only reason I'm bringing this up is because i want to point out a minor detail. Jordan is an independent contractor. He's not an employee, so this rule doesn't really apply to him. If you want to engage in something more than friendship, I'd say go for it.

Cane: You know you got this, like, vein right there on your neck, and it looks like it's about to burst. You might want to, like, lay off on the weights.

Billy: It's really sweet, isn't it, jill to throw you a bone out of pity, to provide for your family and save face in the corporate world with a fake job?

Cane: Oh, no, no. This is a real job, billy. You see, when jill went away, she kind of left the company in the hands of the executive team, but they really just kind of maintained the status quo. So I kind of went to see her and, you know, pitched her this detailed plan on how to revitalize the company and, you know, expand the markets. But you don't have to worry.

Billy: [ Sighs ]

Cane: 'Cause I'm qualified, 'cause I did run the company before.

Billy: Whatever you say, cane. Truth is, we all know that you're the reason why brash & sassy almost had financial ruin, and that's the true reason why nobody's gonna hire you. So let me ask you, did you fake a tear for jill? Did you call her "mum" for old time's sake?

Cane: And this is coming from the guy who got his job at brash & sassy because jill, A.K.A. "Mum," wanted to play matchmaker with you and victoria. But hey, we all know how that worked out, right?

Billy: I've more than proven my worth to that company.

Cane: If you say so. But you know what I actually kind of find funny in all of this, all right, is that you and victoria kind of blame me for everything that went wrong, but I've been gone a couple months now, and the company's still kind of tanking. And, well, you'd be underwater if it wasn't for neil's bridge loan. Is that right? Not to mention you still haven't filled my position.

Billy: Actually, we have hired somebody. Someone that blows you out of the water -- smart, creative, trustworthy.

Cane: Is that so?

Billy: Yeah, it is.

Cane: And who is this smart, creative, trustworthy raw talent that you hired?

Billy: Your wife, cane. Or soon-to-be ex-wife.
