Episode # 11276 ~ Jack hits Billy below the belt; Graham backpedals with Dina; Nick turns the tables on Victor.
Provided By Suzanne
Ashley: Wow!
Jack: What?
Ashley: These are spectacular! You shouldn't have.
Jack: I'm already throwing a dinner in your honor. You expect flowers, too?
Ashley: I know. The dinner's more than enough. You're just too good to me.
Jack: Oh, finally, the appreciation I deserve. Who's the admirer?
Ashley: Oh, "congratulations to the cosmetics innovator of the year. From your friends at brash & sassy."
Jack: Your friends have a lot of chutzpah. Committing cyber theft behind our backs and then smiling in our faces.
Ashley: Okay, okay, okay. We said we're gonna put that aside, remember?
Jack: I'll be on my best behavior tonight.
Ashley: Okay.
Jack: Even be civil with billy. No, tonight's about celebrating you among the people you care about.
Ashley: And at least one person you care about, right? I saw nikki's name on the guest list.
Jack: I hope you're okay with that.
Ashley: You put this whole thing together tonight. I'm gonna quibble with you now? Besides, I told dina she could bring graham.
Jack: You w-- why would you do that?
Ashley: Because I'm trying to save our mother from that manipulative bastard. And this party tonight is the perfect opportunity to do that.
Dina: Oh, I can't tell you what a relief it is knowing that you'll be by my side tonight. I'm just so surprised that ashley even invited you.
Graham: I don't think it'll be the last surprise before the evening's over.
Billy: Look, I know we owe neil a lot, but do you really think it's necessary to be his plus one at my sister's dinner tonight?
Victoria: Well, what better way to show the illusion of friendly competition with jabot? Besides that, I have nothing but respect for ashley's career. So my congratulations will be genuine. Why the worried look? What's wrong?
Billy: I just think there's another reason that you want to attend, and maybe that reason is phyllis?
Victoria: Excuse me?
Billy: I don't know. It's been awhile. Maybe you miss rattling her cage?
Phyllis: Hi.
Ravi: Hey, phyllis. I was just, uh --
Phyllis: Jack filled me in. On everything. I know that billy used my computer to access jabot's confidential files.
Ravi: I wasn't allowed to say a word. I am so sorry.
Phyllis: Not as sorry as i am.
Ravi: If it's any consolation, there's no way he could breach the server again, even if he tried.
Phyllis: He's not gonna have a chance. Jack doesn't want billy to know that we are aware of the situation, so my laptop is within sight or it'll be locked up securely when we're together.
Ravi: It's a shame you have to do that.
Phyllis: Yeah. It is a shame.
Ravi: To know the person you love could betray you like that, I mean --
Phyllis: Billy didn't do this to hurt me. And I have no doubt that victoria pressured him into this. She is that desperate right now.
Ravi: [ Sighs ] Phyllis, billy is the one that did it. You trusted him, and he used you. What kind of a relationship is that?
Nick: All right. What do you think?
Chelsea: You look great. And you're gonna do great in this interview.
Nick: Well, there's a lot riding on it, you know. I have to show my old man what I'm made of.
[ Cellphone rings ] Sorry. Hello?
Hilary: Hey, nick. We are all good to go over here. I was just wondering what your eta was.
Nick: Yeah, we are about to head on over there.
Hilary: Okay, great. We are on a bit of a tight schedule, but I can't wait to hear what you have in store for me and my viewers.
Nick: Oh, you are not gonna be disappointed.
Chelsea: Hilary?
Nick: Yeah. She's bursting at the seams. I think she smells ratings.
Chelsea: Shocker.
Nick: [ Chuckles ]
Chelsea: I know this is a major for you, putting your private life out there.
Nick: Well, I couldn't have done any of this without you. So thank you for everything.
Chelsea: Let's go.
Nick: All right.

Victor: You look beautiful, chelsea. I wondered when I was gonna run into you.
Nick: Why? So you could see how I was doing after what you did to me?
Victor: And what do you think I did to you?
Nick: Well, you hired some hacker to get into my account and drain all my money. I know I'm not gonna be able to prove it was you, so you can drop the act.
Victor: How would you like me to react?
Chelsea: Well, I guess shame and regret are off the table.
Victor: Has nicholas also told you that the money he claims to have lost is actually my money?
Nick: Yeah. We got it. Message received. Well, I have a message for you. Your little thieving act is not gonna stop me from trying to expand the underground with noah.
Victor: You just tap into your many other accounts, filled with my money, right? Money I earned with my own hands so that my own kids wouldn't have to suffer the way I did when I grew up. And you thank me by turning my family against me and by turning my granddaughter against me, by poisoning her against me.
Nick: Well, to be clear, you're the only person I turned my back on. Just you.
Victor: Just remember one thing. There's nothing you have that i can't take.
Nick: Do whatever you want. I have everything that I care about.
Victor: Good for you.
Victoria: I told you that i wouldn't mix it up again with phyllis, and I meant it.
Billy: Good. I appreciate that. I could do without it.
Victoria: Is this more about me or is this about you and phyllis? Has something happened that you haven't told me?
Billy: I got on her computer last night.
Victoria: You what?
Billy: Before I could get on the main server, she walked in on me.
Victoria: Phyllis caught you? Oh, billy.
[ Sighs ] I-I-I told you not to push your luck!
Billy: No, I thought that was code for "find out what you can one last time."
Victoria: No, I never said that. I said if you chose to do something, then just please be careful.
Billy: So it was code that "if you get busted, you're on your own"?
Victoria: Since when do we converse in code?
Billy: You were the one conversing in code.
Victoria: Okay, unbelievable. What happened when phyllis found out?
Billy: Nothing happened. She didn't find out, okay? So just don't worry about it. She doesn't suspect anything.
[ Sighs ] But it was too close. Yes, my heart started beating. My mouth got all dry. Phyllis can't find out about this, okay?
Victoria: I get that.
Billy: Even if she did, i just hope that she understands that this is about business. This is about beating jabot at its own game. That has nothing to do with my feelings towards her. But I can't risk it anymore.
Victoria: Agreed. Phyllis can never know.
Billy: That goes double for jack.
Victoria: No, it goes triple for jack. So you have to be more careful around phyllis, okay? No mixed emotions. Can you handle that, billy?
Billy: Yeah, I can handle that, because there's too much at stake for this company and for me.
Ravi: I apologize if that came off as aggressive. Your relationship is really none of my business.
Phyllis: I'm trying to phrase an accurate response. What billy and I have is complicated, but it's worth it.
Ravi: Well, whatever it is, i hope it goes back to pure bliss for you soon. You're my friend, and I want to see you happy.
Phyllis: Thank you. Ditto from me.
Ravi: Thanks.
Phyllis: I hope your personal life is going well. If you have one under all this.
Ravi: Yeah, it's going pretty good.
Phyllis: [ Chuckles ] I take it ashley's treating you right?
Ravi: Uh, dubious thought process, but correct conclusion. Things are -- things are great. She asked me to be her date tonight.
Phyllis: See that? Ashley has some sense. Okay, well, you never know where this is gonna lead, so...
Ravi: No one knows where this is gonna lead, but I am just enjoying the moment, and ashley's got a lot on her plate right now.
Phyllis: I assume you mean with work and dina. Every time I'm around that woman, my blood pressure spikes. How does jack and ashley put up with her?
Ravi: It can be challenging, but she's their mother. I think ashley hopes that they'll be heading in a new direction soon.
Graham: You know, I was thinking of the first family dinner you had at the abbott house.
Dina: Mm-hmm.
Graham: And how you didn't know what to expect, but you ended up having a fantastic time.
Dina: Oh, I certainly did.
Graham: Tonight could mirror that.
Dina: Well, I'm just so glad she invited me.
Graham: Come on. Why wouldn't she?
Dina: Oh, well, all the mistrust. Things with ashley are a big mess, and I thought jack had accepted my olive branch, but obviously he's still worried over those photos of him and nikki.
Graham: It's all so very upsetting. You reaching out to your kids, trying to make up for lost time, and be a mother to them. And this is how they react, by refusing to accept the person you are today.
Dina: And the person that is a key part of my life.
Graham: I see how stressful it is, dealing with all of your guilt. You have to let it go.
Dina: Well, how can I, darling? I see it every time I look at ashley.
Abby: Hi.
Dina: Hi, dear!
Abby: How are you?
Dina: Oh, well, I'm okay. Well, you must be so thrilled to pieces over the award-winning mother of yours.
Abby: Oh, yes, the whole family is, especially uncle jack, who asked me to pick you up and bring you to jabot.
Dina: Oh. Hmm. What's going on?
Abby: I'm not sure. I guess we'll find out when we get there.
Jack: If we could open mother's eyes to who graham really is, we'd have two things to celebrate tonight.
Ashley: He has the most infuriating ability to convince mother that no matter what accusations we throw at him, they're wrong.
Jack: He claims to be an orphan. You prove he's lying because his mother's alive and well in florida. He convinces dina that's his aunt. We are setting a pattern here no matter what bombshell we uncover.
Ashley: Tonight's gonna be different. It's very easy to manipulate her when they're alone. But tonight we're gonna be there.
Jack: Okay, you know I'm with you on this. Tonight is about you, celebrating you. You deserve it. We can deal with that parasite some other time. Don't let him ruin this. And before you say anything, there's something else we have to take care of, and it can't wait.
Traci: [ Sighs ] Uh, hello.
Gloria: Hello, traci.
Traci: Um, well, I-I-I see you're still working here.
Gloria: [ Chuckles ] And I see how much that stuns you.
Traci: No, no, I'm still stuck on why jack hired you in the first place.
Gloria: I love being back at jabot, and jack is happy to have me. Not going anyplace.
[ Door opens ]
Ashley: I thought I heard your voice. I didn't know you were stopping by, trace.
Traci: Hi. Well, that makes two of us. Um, I was summoned here by a cryptic text from jack.
Ashley: Really?
Traci: Yeah.
Ashley: So jack's turning this dinner into something mysterious. I don't know if I should be intrigued or scared.
Jack: I assure you you're gonna love it. Gloria, can you track down phyllis and ravi? My sisters and I are going to be in my office popping champagne corks.
Ashley: Ohh!
[ Ashley and traci laugh ]
Gloria: Ladies.
Ashley: So how was your visit with your high school friend?
Traci: Oh, it was so fun skipping down memory lane, yes. Sandy hasn't changed a bit. But please remind me when we get home, I have something I found i must show you.
Abby: Aunt traci!
Traci: Oh, sweetie!
Abby: I'm so happy that you're here.
Traci: Oh, honey, I wouldn't miss it. Hello.
Dina: Hello.
Ashley: Hello, mother.
Dina: Ashley. Oh, I'm so glad to see you again, dear.
Ashley: So, did you also get a mysterious text from jack? Huh. Looks like you're in on the surprise for me.
Jack: Ash, come on! The champagne's getting warm!
Dina: [ Chuckles ]
Abby: Let's go.
Ashley: All right. Let's go.
Traci: I'm very happy to see you, mother.
Dina: Oh, me, too. I couldn't wait to hold you. Oh, mwah!
Traci: Thank you. And I can't wait to catch up. Um, I know I'm a writer, but i am the worst at e-mails. I'm so sorry. Anyone will tell you. But I did hear that you're doing some consulting here at jabot.
Dina: Yes. Wasn't that gracious of them? Although I must admit it hasn't been exactly, uh, smooth sailing.
Traci: Oh. I'm sure it's nothing that the three of you can't work through.
Dina: Oh, I hope you're right, dear. I really do.
Traci: Come on. After you.
Dina: Okey dokey.
Nick: [ Sighs ] Oh, man, you have no idea how close I was to losing it at the club. I just wanted to wipe that smug look off my dad's face.
Chelsea: Listen, keeping your cool with victor was the right choice.
Nick: I just kept thinking about the interview. It's gonna solve everything.
Hilary: So, if it isn't the man of the hour, and camera ready to boot. Am I sensing your brilliant touch in what he's got going on here?
Chelsea: Yeah, maybe a little.
[ Chuckles ]
Hilary: Don't be modest. Oh, not around here. You know, I'm rocking my chelsea 2.0, and I am loving it. Gosh, all of my on-camera wardrobe has got your girl's label on it.
Nick: Yeah, she told me. Sounds like it's a great deal for both of you.
Hilary: It is. So, how's everything going? How you feel about today?
Nick: Yeah, I'm all right. I could probably use, uh, you know, five minutes just to kind of get my thoughts together if...
Hilary: Yeah, and I would love to give that to you, but we got to get rolling on this now.
Chelsea: Well, what's the big rush? I mean, you're pre-taping. It's not a live interview.
Hilary: Correct, but the time crunch, it's due to my schedule. I need to be out the door asap so I can make it to the abbott family event tonight.
Nick: Yeah, let's, uh, let's do this.
Hilary: Really? Oh, you are the guest of my dreams. Oh, he is a keeper.
Chelsea: Don't I know it.
Hilary: This way.
Chelsea: All right, well, you take good care of him.
Hilary: Chelsea, you can stay right here, okay?
Chelsea: Okay. Good luck.
Hilary: Just wondering, did you tell your family that you were gonna be on my show?
Nick: Nope.
Hilary: Just as a professional curiosity.
Nick: Just chelsea. I didn't want any interference or distractions.
Hilary: Smart move.
Nick: Plus they're gonna have plenty to say once this airs.
[ Indistinct conversation ]
Victoria: Oh, hi, dad. I didn't see you there.
Billy: This whole sneaking up thing, you know, I'm gonna buy you a phone so you can call us next time.
Victor: So, darling, is the transfer of papers of the ownership of that skincare product in order?
Victoria: Yes. Thank you very much for your generous gift.
Billy: A gift, right? No strings attached, right? No contingencies?
Victor: Do I need to explain that to you again?
Billy: No, but it would be nice if we got it in writing.
Victor: Hmm. I gave you my word, didn't I?
Victoria: I'm gonna hold you to it.
Victor: Mm-hmm. I think you should be concerned about getting this product on the market as soon as possible.
Victoria: Well, we have even bigger, more exciting plans. We're pushing it out to women, as well as men, all part of our revamped and extended dare line.
Victor: Why would you invest this much capital in a revamp when I gave you a product that would revolutionize the industry?
Billy: And here are the strings. Look, focusing on the men's line is the best thing we could do right now, and that is a guarantee.
Victoria: We told you that jabot is rebooting their teen line, and we figured out how they're paying for it. They're pulling way back on their men's products.
Billy: That means it's dare's former competition because it comes from the highest source possible.
Victor: So you tapped into confidential information at jabot? Is that it? That's why you feel so reckless and so frisky about this, huh?
Victoria: I don't really understand. Do you have a problem with this, dad?
Victor: I have an enormous problem with it. It's a huge mistake.
Victor: My sweetheart, don't misunderstand me, okay? I'm merely giving you advice. This is your company.
Victoria: I appreciate that, dad. I do. But I stand firmly by my decision. You know I would never do anything reckless with this company.
Billy: It's a chance for this company to grab a corner of the cosmetic market, a market that jabot is abandoning.
Victoria: So we can expand our product line, and we can do a major promotional push for dare. We have the funds.
Victor: Oh, really? Those funds, as I understand, are a loan from hamilton-winters, so you're gonna spend every cent of that on this.
Victoria: After much considered thought, I believe it is the best use for this money.
Billy: And we will pay it back several times over.
Victor: Oh, yeah? Spoken like a true gambler.
Billy: What's your point, victor?
Victor: Let me make it clear to you. Before you stake all of your chips, just remember there's a wild card in the deck, a wild card called jack. Do I need to tell you how untrustworthy your brother is?
Jack: Gloria, phyllis.
Gloria: Thank you.
Jack: Here you are. Now...
[ Glass clinking ]
[ Laughter ] Thank you all for coming. I, uh, I wanted you to join me in recognizing the 2017 recipient of the innovator of the year award.
[ Cheering ] Ashley abbott.
Traci: Congratulations.
Jack: Uh, not to worry. We are still going to do a more formal presentation later this evening. Uh, I have the receipt for the sizable deposit...
[ Laughter ] ...The top of the tower's insisted on to prove it. Anyway, we are here because i wanted to acknowledge her achievement in this, the very building our dad founded jabot in and where ashley has made a name for herself again and again and again. She's come a long way from her first job right out of college as a chemist under an assumed name because she wanted to be judged by her work, not by the fact that she has the last name abbott. That determination, that genius in the lab dad soon recognized. So did the rest of the company, and ashley has risen to roles in the executive suite that are many -- chief chemist, president, head of r&D. That kindness has made her so much more than the visionary responsible for tuvia and hex and countless other best-selling fragrances. That kindness has made her more than the astute businesswoman who developed our widely popular app, jabotgo. Ashley's always been a hard worker, but her devotion and her passion are well recognized here. But it's her kindness, the fact that she values and cares for the entire team that makes her the heartbeat, the soul of jabot. An industry blogger recently referred to ashley as the most beautiful woman in beauty. And that she is, inside and out. So it is my honor as one of the many people who walk these halls to say thank you. We don't say that enough. To ashley.
All: Cheers.
Traci: Congratulations.
Ravi: Congrats.
Jack: Hey, you. Come on up.
Traci: [ Laughs ]
Jack: Get up here. They want to hear you say something.
Ashley: Oh, no. Well, thank you.
[ Laughter ] That was very touching. Very unexpected. Obviously jabot's had an extraordinary year, and I've had an extraordinary year, as well. It never would have happened, i mean, not without the great effort of my top-level team, my jabot family. And, of course, the love and support of my abbott family. I adore you all so much, and I'm so grateful that you're here. I know how busy everybody is, so thank you for taking time out of your day, and I so look forward to your company tonight.
[ Chuckles ]
Traci: To ashley!
Abby: To ashley!
[ Laughter ]
Traci: Awww. One more.
Ashley: I wasn't ready.
Traci: Love you, sweetie. Mwah.
Abby: I love you, mom.
Traci: Beautiful, beautiful speech. That was so great.
Ravi: Congrats.
Abby: [ Laughs ]
Nick: Thanks.
[ Sighs ]
Hilary: You nervous?
Nick: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, I am all of a sudden. I mean, I don't know why. I've spent my entire life in the spotlight.
Hilary: Once we get rolling, you'll be fine, okay? Just forget about the cameras. It's just you and me chatting, okay? Let's dive in.
Nick: Okay.
Hilary: Welcome to "the hilary hour." As always, I am your host, hilary curtis. And with me in studio today is a very, very special guest, genoa city's entrepreneur and son of everyone's favorite C.E.O., Victor newman, nick newman. Thank you for joining us, nick.
Nick: Yeah, sure. Thanks for having me.
Hilary: So, why don't you tell my viewers why you wanted to come on the show today?
Nick: Um... uh... sorry. Um, sorry.
Hilary: Cut. I'm glad we weren't doing this live, huh?
Chelsea: You know what? Can we have a minute?
Hilary: Yeah, fine. Just one minute, okay?
Chelsea: Okay.
Chelsea: Um, I still don't know what you plan to say, but if you are having second thoughts about this, we can walk out of here right now.
"The young and the restless"
will continue.
Nick: [ Sighs ]
Chelsea: Whatever you decide, it's the right choice.
Nick: Thanks. I'm okay. I-I know what I want to say. I just want to make sure I get it right.
Chelsea: Well, I mean, you thanked her for having you. That's pretty standard.
Nick: I know. It's not what I said. It's kind of the way I felt. I need it to be stronger.
Chelsea: Okay, if you're sure that's all it is.
Nick: Yeah, I'm good. I am. I just think the enormity of all this got to me, but I just need a minute to let it sink in, and I'm good.
Chelsea: All right, well, i think that minute is over because she's pretty much over there timing you, so...
Nick: [ Chuckles ] Yeah.
Chelsea: All right.
Nick: I want to do this. I have to.
Chelsea: Okay. Well, then go get 'em.
Nick: Thanks.
Hilary: Okay, so take two. Why don't we pick it up with my question. Nick, I want you to look right into camera and tell my audience why you wanted to come on my show today.
Nick: To set the record straight.
Billy: Look, victor, if you're somehow implying that jack knows that we're sneaking into jabot's main server, well, you need not worry, okay? The situation is under control.
Victoria: There's no indication that they're on to us. No reason that jack would change his plan. Their priority is a major retail blitz to relaunch their teen line.
Billy: Saying that, I'm sure that he's salivating at the chance to take us out. I mean, you know my brother. Could you imagine him holding everything back for one colossal death blow?
Victor: I can, okay? That's why I'm concerned.
Victoria: Dad, I appreciate that you care about my company, even though you don't always agree with how I run this place.
Victor: As I told you, you're the owner. I have total faith in your judgment.
Victoria: Thank you. That means a lot to me. Mm, mm.
Victor: But do me a favor. Remember one thing, okay? Both of you keep your eyes and ears open, wide open.
Victoria: Always.
Gloria: Don't forget you have that accounting meeting before you leave.
Jack: I'd forgotten. How long is that gonna take?
Gloria: I was firm with them. I said they could have you for 10 minutes.
Jack: Bless you. Thank you, everyone! We will reconvene at top of the tower!
Ashley: Thank you, jackie.
Gloria: Delightful speech. Sadly, I won't be able to attend tonight. Other plans.
Ashley: I'm sorry.
Gloria: [ Chuckles ] You're sorry like I'm sad. Congratulations, though.
Ashley: Thank you.
Abby: [ Chuckles ] Well, I am, uh, gonna take off. I have a lot to do before dinner. Um, I'll see you later?
Ashley: Okay.
Abby: All right. Mwah. Goodbye.
Traci: Bye.
Abby: Dina, would you like me to give you a ride back to the club?
Dina: Oh, I would love one, sweet girl, if it's not too much trouble. But I-I would like to have a word first with your mom.
Abby: Of course. I will wait for you by the elevator.
Dina: Okay.
Abby: See you later.
Traci: Okay.
[ Clears throat ]
Ravi: Huh? Oh, yeah, uh, we should probably talk about the author website. Should -- should I upgrade it now?
Traci: Yes, that would be perfect. A great idea. We'll see you later, ashley.
Ashley: Bye, you guys.
Traci: Bye.
[ Footsteps depart ]
Ashley: Are you okay?
Dina: Oh, of course, dear. And I may not have a chance to tell you later, but...I just want you to know how proud you make me.
Ashley: Oh. Okay.
Dina: Well, maybe it doesn't feel right to you because I've been not around for most of your astounding career, but I just want to say that I'm very impressed. That's all.
Ashley: Thank you.
Dina: Well, thank you for inviting me and for allowing graham to come. That was very gracious of you.
Ashley: I have to be perfectly honest with you, though, mother. I haven't changed my mind about graham. I do not believe one single word out of his mouth.
Dina: I understand. And thank you for your candor. Well, abby's waiting for me, so I'll -- I'll run along. I'll see you tonight.
Ashley: Okay.
Dina: Mwah.
Ashley: Thank you.
[ Cellphone chimes ]
Ashley: Hi.
Ravi: Hey.
Ashley: Did you find anything about graham's mother?
Ravi: Yeah, um, so I started digging into her work history, but without her social security number, it was frustrating.
Ashley: But obviously you found something.
Ravi: I put together a rough employment history. She was a checker at a grocery store, then she was registered at a temp agency, followed by a longer stint at a cafeteria. This one caught my eye.
Ashley: Why's that?
Ravi: Because it was at a private school.
Ashley: Sometimes private school employees get tuition benefits for their children, which means that graham could have gone to the same school where his mother worked.
Ravi: That is exactly what i was thinking. It would explain everything. It would explain why there's no record of graham in the public schools.
Ashley: This could be the breakthrough that we've been looking for. What was the name of the private school?
Ravi: Uh, walnut grove. That mean anything?
Ashley: Oh, yeah. Oh, my god, I'm gonna be late for my own dinner. You are so amazing. Thank you so much. This is incredible. Thanks.
[ Door closes ]
Phyllis: You wanted to see me?
Jack: Yeah, come on in.
Phyllis: Shouldn't you be off to the venue? Do your whole gracious host thing?
Jack: Yeah, I was on my way out, but I wanted a word with you. I...I want to apologize for going off on you earlier.
Phyllis: You're apologizing?
Jack: Yeah, I was kind of a jerk.
Phyllis: Well, that I agree with. It's the apology that's throwing me.
Jack: I know we're both on the same side. I-I think I let my resentment toward billy get ahead of me, and I took it out on you, and I'm sorry.
Phyllis: I might have overreacted to that resentment. For that, I'm sorry. So...are we good now?
Jack: I hope so. I-I-I do have to ask. Um, you think you'll be able to keep your game face on tonight, the whole night with billy by your side?
Phyllis: Wasn't i little miss positive at the champagne fest?
Jack: I guess. I think you maybe went a little too far with the positivity, but I know you better than most people.
Phyllis: As does billy.
Billy: Gloria said it was okay for me to come in.
[ Sighs ] You ready to head home and change before the soiree?
Phyllis: Yeah. Let's, uh, grab my purse on the way out, okay? Okay.
Billy: Oh, it looks like you, uh, you guys started the celebration early up here.
Jack: Yeah, a little thing we did for ashley.
Phyllis: It was just office crew.
Billy: What about traci? Is traci here? I know she got into town a little bit ago.
Jack: Yeah, traci was here.
Billy: I must have missed the phone call.
Hilary: I think we can all agree, my lovely and loyal gc buzzers, that we did not see that coming. Thank you, nick, for your honesty and your openness and, for once, making me speechless. I think we can all agree that that's enough for this evening. Tune in next time for all of your big exclusives. And remember, keep on buzzing, gc. Oh, my gosh. That was jaw-dropping. Thank you so much. You blew my mind.
[ Chuckles ]
Chelsea: Um, I had no idea that you were gonna say all that. I can hardly believe it.
Nick: I can't, either, but i don't know, it feels like it was the right thing to do.
Chelsea: Well, good. It should feel like the right thing, and I-I support everything you said 100%.
Hilary: Seriously, I respect the guts that it took to do what you just did. People are gonna freak out.
Nick: We will see.
Hilary: Well, it will be on air and streaming shortly, so you might want to alert your family.
Nick: Yeah, I definitely don't want them to miss this.
Victoria: I need to get going.
Victor: Big plans tonight?
Victoria: Yeah, there's a party for ashley. Cosmetics industry innovator of the year award.
Victor: Oh! Heard about that. That's nice. Boy, she's following in john abbott's footsteps. She must be very proud of that.
Victoria: Yeah, jack's throwing her a dinner party, and neil invited me to go with him.
Victor: Oh, yeah? Billy was left off the list?
Victoria: Uh, he'll be there as, uh, phyllis' date, I'm sure.
Victor: And your mother will be escorted by jack abbott? Is that it?
Victoria: I'm not sure, but there is a good chance, i suppose.
Victor: Hmm.
[ Cellphones chime ]
Victoria: It's from nick. He's texted the whole family.
Victor: "Watch 'the hilary hour'?" What the hell is that all about? Let's take a look.
Hilary: This is a red-letter day in "hilary hour" history. First nick newman like we've never seen him before, and then now this exclusive with the abbotts. I'm gonna be glued to social media. I cannot wait to see how nick's family reacts.
Nick: You and me both.
Hilary: Well, the show is about to start. You two are welcome to stay here and watch if you'd like, but i am out the door.
Chelsea: Okay.
Hilary: Seriously, nick, thank you again.
Nick: Sure.
Hilary: So much. We'll be in touch, okay?
Chelsea: See you soon.
Hilary: Bye.
Chelsea: [ Sighs ] Well... no going back now. Any second thoughts?
Nick: Zero.
Hilary: I'm hilary curtis. And with me in studio today is a very, very special guest, genoa city's entrepreneur and son of everyone's favorite C.E.O., Victor newman, nick newman. So, nick, why don't you look into camera and tell my viewers why you came on my show today?
Nick: To set the record straight. I feel like the people should know what being a newman is really all about.
Victoria: What is he doing? Do you know?
Phyllis: We'll be at the most important celebration for ashley tonight, the one that matters.
Billy: You're right. You always are. I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it. I'll celebrate ashley tonight. I'm sure it'll be a-a barrel of fun.
Jack: I'm counting on it.
Phyllis: Come on. Let's go. Wait till you see the dress I'm wearing tonight. I picked it out with you in mind.
Billy: I'm just curious. Was that for jack's benefit or mine? Are we okay now? Not exactly proud of the way i was this morning.
Phyllis: You and me, we're golden. I'm not gonna let jack or victoria or anyone else come between you and me.
Graham: With everyone there, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect opportunity. That's right, mother. Time to expose dina's lies and blow her world apart just like she did to us. After tonight, no one in that sick, spoiled family will ever want to speak to her again.
[ Door clicks ] I'll call you later. Bye.
[ Door opens ]
Dina: Oh! Look at you! How gorgeous you are in that suit!
Graham: I was starting to think that I was being stood up.
Dina: Oh, nonsense. I'll be changed in a flash. Scout's honor.
Graham: I'll be right here.
Dina: Oh, thank you. Handsome and patient. Oh, I'm so excited that you'll be attending the event with me tonight.
Graham: I wouldn't miss this for anything.
Traci: Oh!
Ashley: Hi.
Traci: How is it you can take so little time to look so damn fabulous?
Ashley: Thank you. I was rushing. What did you want to show me?
Traci: Oh, right, right, right. Okay, when sandy was here, we were looking through this old walnut grove yearbook. It's from before I went away to boarding school.
Ashley: Yeah.
Traci: And, um, sandy had this memory of this boy that was younger than us in our school.
Ashley: And?
Traci: I don't think that it is dina's graham. I'm not sure.
Ashley: Why do you say that?
Traci: Because this graham's last name is davis. See? He's right here. Uh, sandy and I both have the same fuzzy memory of this boy being pulled out of school in the middle of the year for some reason. Do you remember a family named davis?
Next on "the young and the restless"...
Nikki: Excuse me, but I have to go see what this woman has done to my family now!
Nick: Let's do it.
Chelsea: Hold on. Here we go.
Graham: Do you really want to do this here?
Ashley: You bet I do.
