Episode # 11274 ~ Jack forces Phyllis to face the truth about Billy's deception; Colin charms Juliet; Lily takes on a new challenge.

Provided By Suzanne

Phyllis: You're being an ass right now. I thought we were past all that, but clearly we are not.

Jack: Listen, phyllis, I --

Phyllis: There is no way billy used my computer to get into your server! He wouldn't do that, jack. He wouldn'T.

Billy: We can't run ads for a mask if the product doesn't exist. Do you understand that? So just guarantee me that it'll be ready for the release date. That's all you have to do. No, damn it, before that. Have you ever heard of a thing called a holiday sale?

[ Chair scrapes floor ] I don't care what you need to do. Just get it done.

Victoria: That budget memo that you downloaded from jabot, I was looking over it again.

Billy: And?

Victoria: I just think that we need to be cautious ramping up dare.

Billy: Vick, jabot is leaving a huge hole in the marketplace for men, so who better fill it than us?

Victoria: Jack specifically said that they weren't abandoning the men's line, that they were just reallocating funds so they could relaunch jabot junior.

Billy: Major funds, okay? Jabot men is on the backburner. That's all we need to know.

Victoria: Just would be nice to know where they plan on retaining a foothold before we spend the money that neil loaned us.

Billy: So what are you saying? I get back on phyllis' computer, find out what I can?

Lily: Hey, guys.

Billy: Hey.

Victoria: Lily, hi. Uh, we weren't, uh...

Billy: We weren't expecting you quite yet.

Lily: Yeah, I know that we don't have an official start date, but I wanted to get a lay of the land, so... what are you working on?

Cane: It's good to see you, dad. Come here.

[ Sighs ]

Colin: I'm so sorry to hear that lily filed. I-I really didn't think it'd go that far.

Cane: Yeah, me, too. She just can't get past the mistakes I've made.

Colin: What's your plan?

Hilary: Mattie? Hey. I heard about your parents splitting up. How are you doing?

Mattie: How do you think?

Hilary: Divorces are tough. I'm sorry. I know you're probably not comfortable talking to me about it, not like you would be with, say, reed?

Mattie: Yeah, well, that's not happening anytime soon. My parents grounded me and took my phone away. We're basically forbidden to see each other forever.

Hilary: Well, you -- you could use my phone to text him, if you like. Mattie, do you remember when i saw the two of you together? Do you remember what I told you? Well, I meant it. Your secret is safe with me. I think that I've proven that i can be trusted. But it's up to you. Whatever you're comfortable with.

Mariah: Yeah! [ Chuckles ] Oh, my gosh. Moving in together.

Tessa: I know.

Mariah: That's crazy. I, uh, I didn't see that coming.

Tessa: Neither did I.

Noah: Yeah, I've been thinking about it awhile, and, um, timing seemed right. Well, while you pack, I've got a few things to take care of, so...

Tessa: All right.

Noah: Cannot wait to properly welcome you home.

Tessa: I'll meet you at your place later.

Noah: Okay. Bye.

Mariah: Bye.

[ Door closes ] Congratulations. It, uh, it looks like you got what you wanted.

Sharon: And there's no possibility they could be wrong? Okay, keep me posted. Thanks. That was paul. Alice has been in an accident. A hit and run.

Nick: Wait, what? Is she --

Sharon: Except the police now know that it wasn't an accident. The driver targeted her.

Nick: Oh, my -- how is she?

Sharon: She's gone.

Billy: Welcome. So glad that you're here.

Victoria: Godsend is actually the word that comes to mind.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Well, I am thrilled by the opportunity, and I'm so grateful that you both have confidence in me.

Billy: I made sure lily knows that this was not neil's idea.

Victoria: Oh, no, it was totally ours. I've been working with a headhunter for the past couple of weeks trying to fill these positions.

Lily: Cane and juliet'S.

Victoria: You'll mostly be taking over juliet's responsibilities.

Billy: But you will be wearing a variety of hats because it's all about teamwork around here. Whatever needs to be done.

Victoria: We hired you for your past corporate experience, your managerial skills, and, of course, your intimate knowledge of the dare line.

Billy: Also because we like you.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Billy: That never hurts.

Lily: Well, listen, after all the damage that cane has done, i would have understood if you guys let me go, but you didn'T. So I'm grateful for that, and i promise that I will return that loyalty.

Victoria: Excellent. Okay, so our strategy in a nutshell is to dominate the men's market in all sectors. Some of our products are already on the market, some of them are being launched now, and some of them are still in the r&d pipeline.

Billy: And some are still in the concept stage, but not for long.

Lily: Wow. This is incredible. I mean, traveling the country, i saw firsthand how popular these products are, so sounds like you see an opportunity.

Billy: A monumental one.

Victoria: So, let's get you up to speed. We are in a war here.

Cane: Dad, I fought like hell to try and hold everything together. I did, you know. I even found us a counselor.

Colin: [ Chuckles ] Counselor? How did that work out?

Cane: Well, lily went one time and then she quit, you know, and I would have done anything she asked. I just can't change the way she feels about me, the marriage, and juliet's baby.

Colin: Yeah, I suppose not.

Cane: Looks like what's done is done and I just have to, you know, think about the future.

Colin: What's on the job front?

Cane: Well, I've got this, uh, you know, proposal I'd like to give to jill. It involves chancellor. Do you think she maybe would listen to me or...?

Colin: Present it yourself. She's at one of those... mind-messing retreats in the hills somewhere.

Cane: But she's been upset with me ever since everything hit the fan, you know. But I'm owning up to my part now, and I'm trying to do the right thing for everyone involved.

Colin: Including the child.

Cane: Especially him.

Colin: "Him"?

Cane: Yeah.

Colin: A boy?

Cane: It's a boy.

Colin: Another grandson. Oh, my god.

[ Chuckles ] Friend of yours?

Cane: [ Sighs ] Yeah, that's, uh, that's juliet, the, uh --

Colin: Juliet?

Cane: Baby's mother, yes.

Colin: Get -- get her over here!

Cane: Please don'T. Please don'T.

Colin: Look.

Cane: Please.

Colin: I know. You're not involved, all right? But I'm only here for a day. I'd -- I'd like to meet her. Juliet! Please.

Juliet: Hello.

Cane: Uh, juliet helton, this is --

Colin: Is colin atkinson, soon to be grandfather of the child you're carrying.

Hilary: Yes, I want both segments up on the website asap. Okay, thanks, roz. Hey. Mattie's on the patio.

Reed: Wait, did she use your phone?

Hilary: Yeah. Sure that your mother wouldn't be too happy that I let her text you.

Reed: [ Scoffs ] Then why did you?

Hilary: Because I can't stand the thought of the two of you being caught in the middle of your parents' problems. I know what it feels like. And...I get the impression that mattie could use a friend.

Reed: Thanks.

Hilary: Yeah.

Jack: I was hoping you could remain blissfully unaware, but you were so adamant that billy would never betray you.

Phyllis: Because he hasn'T. Where are you getting your information from at this moment?

Jack: You have been complaining to me nonstop about how hard that man is working, all the late nights he's spending with victoria, how driven he is to save her company.

Phyllis: Okay, you know, i work just as hard for lauren, okay? But when billy and I get home, we make it a point to keep that stuff out of there.

Jack: You were the one who was convinced that billy and victoria knew ahead of time about my plans to ace them out at fenmore'S. If that's true, how did they find out? You claim there had to be a mole. We couldn't find one. I said you must have slipped. You swore that wasn't the case.

Phyllis: What? What? Are you out of theories now? I mean, is that what's happening, that you -- you think he must have screwed me over?

Jack: Billy, who is obsessed with beating me. Billy, the reckless, impulsive gambler who has a thousand different ways to justify his bad behavior. You know what I heard in your voice? I heard doubt. You and I both know billy would damn well do it.

Sharon: I just wanted to make sure that alice would cooperate with paul's investigation, but when we got to her hospital room, it was empty.

Nick: The police did a search?

Sharon: Yeah. No sign of alice anywhere.

Nick: All right, but if she's as injured as you say she was --

Sharon: It is my hope that alice was so scared she found a way to run, because if not, that means that these horrible people who tried to kill her came back to finish the job.

Nick: All right, sharon, don't feel guilty about that, all right? Alice was taking advantage of young girls. She probably would have continued to do so. But because you helped out crystal and tessa, which was the right thing to do, the police will have a chance to break up this sex ring. But until some arrests are made, you have to be careful. Make sure ranch security is on top of this.

Sharon: I will. I promise.

Nick: All right.

Noah: Hey! Glad you're both here. So, I have some fantastic news.

Tessa: I'll admit it took me by surprise, but noah's been so sweet and so supportive about everything with crystal. He wants me to be able to trust him and confide in him the way that I do you. It's like you and devon. Everything's good, right?

Mariah: Yeah, um... yeah, he wants us to get away, you know, for a couple days, maybe head to chicago, just the two of us.

Tessa: Well, I promise noah and I won't mess it up by tagging along.

[ Both chuckle ]

Mariah: I-I loved having you with me on that trip to san francisco. I have the best memories.

Tessa: I'm so lucky to have you in my life. And now noah wants to take things to the next level.

Mariah: Is that what you want?

Tessa: I can't crash here forever, so...

Mariah: Are you moving to get away from me?

Tessa: Of course not. Why would you say that?

Mariah: It's just we've -- we've been through a lot together, some of it pretty intense, the whole crystal thing and getting her out of that situation.

Tessa: Which wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for you. I'm so grateful for you, mariah. You're the most amazing person i know. And all the amazing things you've done for me... I don't think I'll ever be able to repay you.

Mariah: I just want you to be happy.

Tessa: I want the same for you. Well, I...better go pack.

[ Chuckles ]

Mariah: [ Clicks tongue ]

Tessa: [ Chuckles ]

Juliet: I'm glad the baby will have grandparents who want to be a part of his life.

Colin: Rest assured, when that child arrives, jill and i will be here.

Juliet: I appreciate that. We both do.

Colin: I assume you're staying local.

Juliet: Genoa city's home now. I like it here, and I want our son to be near his father. Cane's really shown up for the baby and me, especially after...

Cane: Yeah, there's been some, uh, complications.

Colin: Nothing serious, i hope.

Juliet: I spend a lot of time resting. Doctor's orders. Well, I might as well say this since we're all thinking it. This isn't what I had planned for my life, nor is it the ideal way to bring a child into the world. Cane has taken most of the blame for everything, which isn't fair. I accept my share of the responsibility.

Cane: Well, look, there's enough blame that's gone around. Let's not dwell on it, okay? As my life's fallen apart, dad, juliet's one of the very few people who have actually stood by me, so... yeah, yeah.

Colin: I'm glad you're both handling this so well, given the circumstances that brought you into this situation. This little guy is coming along soon, and he's an innocent, and as such, will be welcomed into the family.

Juliet: Nothing you could have said would have meant more to me, colin.

Colin: I think I can go one better than that. Come here.

Phyllis: How could billy have used my computer?

Jack: You live with the guy. You figure it out.

Phyllis: I've never given anyone my jabot password.

Jack: I never said he used your password. He used dina'S.

Phyllis: What are you doing?

Billy: Just trying to see if the, uh, internet was working.

Phyllis: Is it?

Billy: Yeah, no, it seems to be fine. It's just, uh... which means it's my phone.

[ Chuckles ]

Phyllis: No. There's no way dina gave billy her password.

Jack: Surely you saw him laying on the charm with her. He did what he always does. He lied, he cajoled, he tricked it out of her.

Phyllis: You're speculating, jack.

Jack: He had plenty of motive, he acquired the means. All he needed was the opportunity, so you tell me. Have you left your laptop unattended around billy lately?

Phyllis: I'm gonna go put this in my locker.

Billy: I'll take this. You don't have time to put this in your locker. You go ahead. Go to your massage. Enjoy yourself. See you when you get out, okay?

Phyllis: All right. Have a good workout.

Billy: Thank you.

Phyllis: Yeah. May-- maybe billy did this.

Phyllis: I don't keep my computer under lock and key.

Jack: Maybe you should. We are talking about billy. It never occurred to you that --

Phyllis: No, it didn'T. I assume ravi has taken the necessary steps to prevent this from happening again?

Jack: He's in the process.

Phyllis: This is not billy's style. This is something victoria put him up to. "Come on, you'd do it for me, billy, right? The mother of your children?"

[ Chuckling ] She stoops to anything. Don't you see? I mean, I assume the sensitive material was not acquired because you wouldn't be enjoying it this much.

Jack: We don't really know. We don't know how many times billy accessed the server without your knowing. I know that look, phyllis. I know you want to go down there and just give it to him.

Phyllis: This -- this was dirty. This was a violation of trust.

Jack: All true. But confronting billy now will only let him know that we're on to him.

Phyllis: You expect me to keep quiet about this?

Jack: Do you want the momentary satisfaction of blasting those two, or would you rather beat billy at his own game and help this company regain its advantage?

[ Door closes ]

Lily: Okay, so when you want me to start pitching?

Billy: Ha. A week ago tuesday.

Lily: [ Chuckles ] Okay, I'm on it. Thank you.

Billy: Thank you. See you.

[ Cellphone chimes ] Lily is on this like a champ.

Victoria: Yeah, well, we knew she would be.

Billy: If we're good here, I'm gonna take off and go see phyllis.

Victoria: Yeah. Go. You've earned it.

Billy: I just wish we knew about you-know-who, what part of their men's line that they're keeping alive.

Victoria: Billy, I won't ask you to take any more risks logging onto phyllis' computer, but if the opportunity does present itself, just be careful.

Colin: I hope I didn't hug you too hard.

Juliet: No, no, it's fine. I just wasn't expecting it.

[ Voice breaking ] I'm touched this baby means so much to you.

Cane: You okay?

Juliet: No, no, don't -- just don't mind me. Hormones.

[ Sighs ] Well, actually, I came down to pick up my mail, so, uh, it was nice meeting you, colin.

Colin: You, too.

Juliet: And I will leave you to your reunion.

Colin: I expected somebody more calculating.W, she's a good person who was, uh, just doing her job, and now she's trying to make the most of things.

Colin: Well, you probably got better things to do. You -- you want to grab something to eat tonight?

Cane: Oh, I would love to. You want to come over to the house?

Colin: Hmm. Suppose esther might bar us.

Cane: All you got to do is remind her you're married to jill, who owns the place.

Colin: I've got to remind her of that.

Cane: [ Chuckles ]

Colin: Yeah. Uh, oh, listen, tomorrow, you want me to book you on my flight?

Cane: Yeah, then I can pitch jill. That's great.

Colin: You know, this is just a hunch, but I got a feeling she's gonna jump at getting back into the mix, my boy.

Cane: I missed you, dad.

Colin: Okay.

Cane: All right, I'm good.

Colin: All right.

Mattie: Half my friends' parents are divorced. It's no big deal.

Reed: I've been through it. It's awful and confusing, and it sucks big time.

Mattie: My dad's trying not to show it, but I can see it's killing him. I hate seeing him so sad. But I know my mom's been through a lot, too, so...

Reed: Oh, my god. Mom.

Mattie: We're so in for it.

Reed: Before you say anything, I didn't know she was here, and I just walked in and i saw her, and we started talking, and she's really upset about her parents --

Victoria: I know. Reed, I heard. I heard about the divorce.

Reed: Please don't make this any worse for her.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] That's the last thing I want. But I can't just ignore this.

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

[ Computer keys clacking ]

Billy: Hey. I thought this was about playtime.

Phyllis: Hey. I didn't think you'd get back so quickly. I hope I didn't interrupt anything too important.

Billy: I've been spending too much time at work. I need a better balance, the kind of balance that I've been reading about.

Phyllis: Yeah. I know it's kind of tough, especially being short-staffed.

Billy: Actually, on that front, we, uh, we hired lily today.

Phyllis: Wow. Congratulations. She's fabulous.

Billy: Yeah, I think she's gonna be great.

Phyllis: Yeah. No, I think she's gonna bring a lot to the table, especially with dare. So what's she gonna be doing?

Billy: Oh, a little bit of this, a little bit of that, picking up the slack where cane and juliet left off. It was actually victoria's idea.

Phyllis: Got to be a relief having someone to come in and carry the load, you know, especially with all the hits you've been taking with brash & sassy. And I know that victoria's got to be just desperate to prove that she is a legitimate C.E.O. And not a flake.

Billy: I don't know if I'd say desperate, but...

Phyllis: I think looking at you two lately, you seem like you're both really good with the direction of the company, you know. Not that you'd trust me with any details.

Billy: Would you trust me?

Hilary: I came as soon as i got your message. So, what's up?

Jack: I have a little assignment for you.

Hilary: Sounds intriguing.

Jack: I think you're gonna like it.

Hilary: Are you finally ready to come on my show and promote parker beauty?

Jack: Soon. But that's not why I called you here.

Hilary: Huh.

Lily: Oh. Hey. Sorry I, uh, wasn't here when you got home. I started a new job at brash & sassy.

Charlie: Oh, more pictures with hockey players?

Lily: No. Actually, billy and victoria asked me to come into the office.

Charlie: Dad's old job?

Lily: No, no, no. They started a new position for me. But please don't talk to your father about it until I have a chance to, okay?

Charlie: So it is like dad's old job.

Lily: Uh, where's mattie? I thought you guys were coming home together.

Charlie: Yeah, well, when she didn't show, I figured she had some geek thing after school.

Lily: Well, then why didn't you text her?

Charlie: Because you took away her phone.

[ Door opens ]

Lily: Mattie. Hi. Victoria, uh, what are you -- what are you doing here?

Victoria: I found mattie at crimson lights with my son.

Charlie: So busted.

Victoria: She and reed have other, so I thought that you and I should address this.

Lily: Mattie, how did you arrange this?

Mattie: A friend gave me her phone so I could text him. But it's not fair that we can't hang out just because dad and ms. Newman don't like each other.

Victoria: I agree with mattie.

Mattie: You do?

Nick: It's a big step.

Noah: We took our time, and i think we're ready.

Nick: Well, if you're happy, I'm happy.

Noah: Thank you.

Sharon: I imagine you heard about crystal.

Noah: Yes. I'm so proud of you. You were determined to save that girl, and you did. And tessa's so relieved. It's like this big weight has been lifted off of her.

Sharon: Tessa is a very brave young woman. And she and mariah make quite a team.

Noah: Well, things will soon be back to normal at your house. Tessa's gathering her things right now, and she's moving in tonight. Oh, dad, running into you saved me a trip.

Nick: Yeah?

Noah: Yeah, I got a call from the guys doing the renovation at the ann arbor club, and they're ready to roll. They just need to get their first payment so they can buy the materials and start. Hey, did you ever figure out what happened, the problem with the bank?

Sharon: What problem?

Noah: Somehow dad's checking account got cleaned out.

Sharon: What?!

Nick: Yeah, uh, I was able to get to the bottom of it.

Sharon: And what was the issue?

Nick: Just a bank error.

Noah: Well, I'm glad everything's cool. Uh, listen, I got to jet because

[Chuckling] I have to clean my place before tessa shows up.

Nick: [ Chuckles ] Good luck.

Sharon: Bye.

Noah: Bye.

Sharon: Okay. What were you not telling him?

Nick: [ Sighs ]

Tessa: Well, think of it this way. No more pain-in-the-butt friend hogging the bathroom, stealing your straightening iron, putting your life in danger.

Mariah: Yeah, yeah.

Tessa: [ Chuckles ]

Mariah: You are a real prize.

Tessa: [ Laughs ]

Mariah: But I was kind of getting used to having you around.

Tessa: You spent too much time helping me, mariah. You need to get back to your own life, to devon. I'm glad you guys are taking the time to get away, reconnect. So I... guess this is it.

Mariah: Wait. I don't want you to go.

Sharon: Victor stole money from you?

Nick: Yeah, it was just one account. I mean, not enough to break me, but enough to make his point.

Sharon: Unbelievable.

Nick: Of course he would claim that it was, you know, his money unjustly given to me because I sued to get my trust fund.

Sharon: You're so calm. I'd be livid. Are you gonna go to the police?

Nick: What good would that do? Dad's too smart. You know he didn't leave a trail. But he did get his message across, you know?

Sharon: So what are you gonna do?

Nick: I'm gonna make some changes.

Hilary: Top of the tower? That's where you want to have ashley's dinner?

Jack: Is there a problem?

Hilary: Not only is it deep in newman territory. It's also where I covered nikki's concert, and we both know how that ended up.

Jack: Yeah, you got some pretty decent ratings.

Hilary: Massive. As well as the wrath of the newman family.

Jack: Well, you didn't have to take victor up on his offer to air that fight. You could have taken the easy way out.

Hilary: Oh, jack, that's not my style.

Jack: Yeah, I think victor was counting on that.

Hilary: And then I went and i pissed victoria off by airing that piece on her and benjamin hochman. Last time I saw that woman, i saw a whole new side of her.

Jack: A little word of warning -- tread carefully with victoria. Beneath that carefully crafted facade, she's a carbon copy of mr. Devious himself.

Hilary: I'm used to ticking people off. That's how I know I'm doing my job. But, honestly, I don't really care what people think.

Jack: I used to.

Hilary: [ Chuckles ] Something change?

Jack: I just stopped giving a damn.

Hilary: Well, I would be delighted to do a piece on ashley's award and the family celebration. But fair warning -- I do intend to cover this like any other story, parking lot brawls and all.

Jack: I would expect nothing less.

Hilary: Okay, you have a good day, jack.

Billy: It's called compartmentalizing. Business secrets way out there somewhere, and then personal life somewhere in here.

Phyllis: I know working with your ex, the line can get blurred.

Billy: [ Sighs ] Yes, that's true. Saying that, I'm glad that you brought it up. It's been bothering me, actually.

Phyllis: What's going on?

Billy: Victoria said that you guys ran into each other, had words.

Phyllis: It was more than that. It was...much more than that. She tried to shake my faith in what you and I have.

Billy: From what I hear, was it -- did it go both ways?

Phyllis: [ Scoffs ] I have put up with a lot from that woman. I have swallowed my pride. But when she's actively trying to undermine what we have --

Billy: She can't do that, phyllis.

Phyllis: Well, she can sure as hell try.

Billy: Well, it doesn't matter, because there's no other woman that I want to be with.

Phyllis: You know what? We're supposed to be off duty right now. So I am going to draw a nice bath, and I will give you a holler when I'm ready, all right?

Billy: [ Sighs ]

[ Laptop alert chimes ]

Lily: [ Sighs ] Reed doesn't seem like the kind of kid who would ruin mattie's life. He's so sweet with her.

Victoria: Yeah, he has his moments. You know, I caught him cracking open a book the other day, which I'm sure is mattie's influence.

Lily: [ Chuckles ]

Victoria: As far as I'm concerned, based on that alone, she's perfect.

Lily: I know, but we know how quickly things can change. It really scared me when she cut class then lied to me about it.

Victoria: Yes, I know. Believe me, I get it. But if we keep trying to stop them from seeing each other, especially with no good reason...

Lily: Yeah, I've been there.

Victoria: Maybe we could start a club.

Lily: Well, that sounds like a story.

Victoria: [ Chuckles ] Yeah, well, when I was 16, i eloped with ryan. Needless to say, my parents were not thrilled.

[ Both laugh ]

Lily: Wow. Okay. Well, with me it was -- it was daniel.

Victoria: Oh, I remember. You two were very intense.

Lily: Yeah. After cassie died, we ran away together, and it felt like the whole town was chasing after us with phyllis and my dad leading the charge.

Victoria: As I recall, it was nick leading the charge and phyllis trying to stop nick from killing poor daniel.

Lily: Mm-hmm. And my dad was so afraid of his little girl getting caught in the crossfire.

Victoria: Fun times.

Lily: Yeah, weren't they?

Victoria: You know, now that I'm a mother, all that drama and rebellion don't seem so appealing. I would settle for knowing where my kid is and who he's with, wouldn't you?

Mattie: What do you think they're talking about?

Charlie: Boarding school.

Reed: It's hard to say, but they don't exactly look mad.

Mattie: They don't really look happy, either. Don't let your guard down. It's bound to be a trap.

Lily: So, we, uh, discussed it and decided that the decision that you shouldn't see each other was arbitrary.

Charlie: What?

Reed: So that does that mean that we can now?

Lily: Yes.

Victoria: As long as you follow the rules. We're trusting you.

Lily: And don't give us any reason not to.

Mattie: We won't!

Reed: I-I promise.

Mattie: Thank you, mom.

Reed: But wait. What about mr. Ashby?

Victoria: Uh...

Reed: Do you think he'll be cool with it?

Victoria: I think that lily will work that out with cane.

[ Knock on door ]

Cane: Juliet, it's me. Hey, I, uh, I hope I didn't catch you at a bad time.

Juliet: I'm not busy. Just a little tired.

Cane: Yeah, I told my dad, you know, not to wear you out, but, you know, he was insistent on meeting you, so...

Juliet: I was glad. It was -- it was lovely.

Cane: Yeah, he's exuberant, isn't he, about becoming a grandfather. You know, I hope it's not uncomfortable for you.

Juliet: It was sweet. Just caught me by surprise.

Cane: Well, um, I wanted to say thank you for, you know, the way you dealt with that situation and saying it wasn't all my fault. You know, I appreciate that.

Juliet: I meant it. You're a good person, cane.

Cane: So are you. And, um, I wanted to tell you that I'm gonna be going out of town for a few days. There's a business opportunity that's come up.

Juliet: Well, you need to find work, and I don't want to stand in your way.

Cane: And, uh, if you need to get in touch with me, you can just call or text me, you know, because I'll be out of town, but I'll be thinking about you and the baby, 'cause you guys are important to me now.

Juliet: That means a lot.

Cane: All right. Well, I suppose I'll see you. All right, see you.

Juliet: Bye.

[ Breathes deeply ]

Nick: You know, my dad thinks I don't know the value of things because I got my inheritance early. He thinks that everything I've ever accomplished is because of him, and I want to prove him wrong.

Sharon: How you planning to do that?

Nick: You know, it's like you having a homing device for the newmans.

Hilary: Just wanted a coffee, but I don't need the hassle. I'll go somewhere else.

Nick: Actually, there's something I would like to talk to you about. I think you're gonna want to hear it.

Tessa: We'll still hang out all the time.

Mariah: Yeah, but it's not gonna be the same. Noah's gonna be the one who's picking up your dirty clothes, the one who's pretending you can cook.

Tessa: I mean, I was hoping to order takeout for the next year. Do you think he'll notice?

[ Laughs ]

Mariah: No. I think that, uh, guys are pretty slow at that stuff.

Tessa: Hey, don't get all sappy. It's not a good look for you.

[ Door closes ]

Mariah: [ Sighs ]

[ Sobs ]

[ Laptop alert chimes ]

Phyllis: Tub's ready! Sorry it took so long.

Billy: I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Phyllis: Definitely. The water's perfect. Come on up.

Billy: [ Clears throat ] Your computer dinged while I was sitting there.

Phyllis: It's work. This is play. I'll deal with it later.

Next on "the young and the restless"...

Hilary: Here I am, right on time. I'm dying to hear what you want to tell me.

Traci: Graham davis. Graham davis.

Billy: Everything okay?

Phyllis: Actually, no. It's not.
